Izzy is the best! I absolutely loved working with him from start to finish! My trial was in the summer of 2020 with our wedding originally planned for March of 2021 but we had to push it back to March of 2022. I had changed my mind of how I wanted my hair to look and just from picking out different things I liked from pictures of different hairstyles, Izzy gave me exactly what I wanted (if not better)! On the day of the wedding Izzy and his assistant were so great to be around, making great conversation and keeping us all laughing. One of my bridesmaids kept saying she wished she had hired Izzy for her wedding!! I would recommend Izzy to everyone, such a pleasure to work with! -

Izzy was AMAZING to work with!!! The best decision made for my hair and the bridal party's hair. From our first hair trial together, we totally clicked and Izzy NAILED exactly what I wanted!! On the wedding day Izzy was able to seamlessly blend extensions into my hair. Everyone commented on amazing my hair looked. The whole bridal party raved about their hair! Izzy's assistant was also wonderful. Thank you so much!!! -

Izzy and their assistant, Jackie, did an absolutely incredible job styling hair for me and my bridal party. My hair had gotten quite long during COVID, and I was hoping for an updo that struck a balance between polished glam but still soft and romantic. Izzy absolutely nailed the look I was going for. I felt truly beautiful all day long and my updo held up perfectly despite the summer heat and even after hours of dancing. All of my bridesmaids as well as my mother and mother in law were super pleased with their looks as well.
I did a hair trial with Izzy a couple of months before the wedding; the trial look was already beautiful but Izzy incorporated some minor feedback that I had and the wedding day look ended up being even better.
Izzy was super professional and easy to work with from start to finish. When COVID hit, we postponed our June 2020 wedding to June 2021, and I was so thrilled that Izzy was available for the new date. Izzy was super responsive to email and so accommodating in all things regarding logistics and scheduling. Izzy is also kind, funny and easy to chat with. I thought that their prices were more than fair for the DC/Northern Virginia area and especially considering the skill level. I would 1000% recommend Izzy to any brides out there! -

Amazing hair stylist!!
With covid there naturally werelast minute changes and Isabel was so easy to work with! I have no expertise on hair so I just showed Isabel some ideas for my wedding hair and she went above and beyond amazing! I wanted hair that was vintage style for our 1920s themed wedding. Isabel is very thorough on everything and that's just what a bride needs. I cannot wait for her to work her magic on my hair again for my rescheduled reception!! I highly recommend Isabel to any bride who is in need of a hair stylist.
Isabel also styled my sister and sister in law's hair and both turned out beautiful!! -

Amazing Hairstylist -- Highly Recommend
Isabel and her assistant Jackie were amazing and created beautiful hair styles for all of my bridal party, mother, mother-in-law, and myself. She took her time to create a couple of styles at the hair trial and listened to my preferences, incorporating my requested changes (including last minute style switch decision from hair down to an up-do), and was able to incorporate my hairpiece beautifully. She went above and beyond even helping me install my veil at the last minute. Isabel and her assistant were professional and kind, and everyone who got their hair done had the best experience! I love the way my hair looked flawless that day and in all of the pictures, and everyone’s hair styles held up nicely. I wanted a clean and mature look, and the style was better than I could have imagined. I highly recommend her! -

Isabel was amazing to work with for my elopement! My hair turned out gorgeous and withheld some serious heat and humidity! The style was perfect - I had requested we make some small changes based on my trial and Isabel was able to make it just right. She also was SO helpful when I needed to find a makeup artist very last minute. Throughout the entire process she was very professional while also having a fun and calm demeanor— must haves for a wedding day! Definitely recommend working with Isabel! -

Isabel was wonderful to work with! She was very organized, communicated effectively, and produced great work. I asked my mother and bridesmaids to pick whatever hairstyle appealed to them, and they each ended up picking a different hairstyle (all with hair of different textures and colors as well). Isabel listened to each person's wishes and created beautiful hairstyles. My hair is very fine and frizzes easily (and my reception was outdoors during August in the mid-Atlantic), and Isabel was able to create a beautiful hairstyle (working very well with extensions, which can be tricky) that held up all night long. -

I hired Isabel to do my hair for my destination elopement in Washington, DC, fall of 2018. It was nerve wrecking because I knew that I wasn’t going to be able to do a test run before my wedding day since I lived in Oklahoma. This made it was really important to me to find someone that had great communication and was very familiar with doing updos. I also have *extremely* long hair (past my lower back) and I knew it would be tricky. Isabel was a godsend. Not only is she very competitively priced, but she knows what she’s doing when I comes to hair. She arrived early and quickly got to work curling my hair and going over what I wanted. She was easy to talk to and seemed to quickly grasp what I had in mind. She was able to create a fantastic updo for me on the first try and it was *gorgeous*- better than I even imagined. Not only was it pretty, but it stayed perfectly intact ALL day. It was super windy and we were outside for multiple hours taking photos without having any issues. I continued to wear it all day and late into the evening to dinner. I finally took it down around 2:00 in the morning and it looked no different.
Long story short- Isabel will not disappoint you. She is delightful to work with and is extremely talented. I would book her again in a heartbeat.

Deciding who I wanted to style my hair as well as my bridal party, was a very difficult decision but I am so happy with my decision! She is extremely talented, listened to what I wanted, gave recommendations, and was so easy to work with! There is a lot I don’t remember from my wedding day but I vividly remember sitting in the chair, as she was doing my hair, and I was feeling anxious about how close we were to the ceremony. She told me to take a deep breath, count to 3, and let it out - it worked and my anxiety started to go away. I am so thankful for her! You will be so happy when you decide to book her and her team! -

Lesslie Sent on 08/31/2018When I first contacted Isabel I was impressed by her responsiveness and professionalism, during the hair trial she made sure I was completely satisfied with the look I had chosen, prior to the day of the wedding she was in touch with me making sure everything was running smoothly and that she and the right address and time and of course she was wonderful on the day of the weeding she even gave me a fruit bar because I didn't eat much before the wedding (as many brides I guess :) ), my hair looked beautiful and it lasted all through the wedding. I can only said great things about her because she truly cares for her clients. You won't regret having Isabel by your side on your big day !! oh and I almost forgot she also did my sister and mom's hair they loved it too!

So, I highly recommend working with her! Also, the trial visit is very helpful for determining what kind of hairstyle you are looking for. You'll also get to meet Isabel's two lovely puppies during the visit, which is a great joy. -

Melissa Sent on 02/05/2018Isabel Duarte of Total Babe Hair is a magical hair wizard who will make you look and feel like the absolute best version of yourself on your wedding day. Isabel and I first did a vintage-inspired updo at my trial and while it looked GORGEOUS (I got SO many compliments from strangers and friends), I decided I wanted to go with a vintage half-up, old Hollywood glam style instead. I typically would have been nervous to not do a trial of the hair-do, but I knew I was in the best hands with Isabel and they absolutely knocked it out of the park on our wedding day. It was EXACTLY what I wanted and stayed looking perfect all day and night - the style stayed so pretty that I didn't want to take it down when all was said and done at 2:30am! And it photographed beautifully, too. In addition to my 'do, Isabel was able to assist last minute with some light styling of my wife's super short hair. The expert styling totally elevated my gorgeous wife's look and made her feel polished and stunning. Not to mention, Isabel is just the best person and a joy to be around. If you want a gorgeous style from a wonderful person who will make you feel special and look like a dream, I cannot urge you more strongly to book with Total Babe Hair. -

From just the initial email contact she provided me with very thorough outline of services including a tentative timeline for our hair services on the day of -- very professional and responsive! Meeting her in person for my hair trial sealed the deal --- not only did she do an amazing job on my hair (taking very fine, straight hair and making it look like I had a ton of hair!!) she's also fun to be around. And on the day of she fit right in with my bridal party, plus her assistant was a lot of fun too. They got us all done in time and everyone looked gorgeous. I highly recommend her! -

Victoria Sent on 11/14/2017Stop looking for a hair stylist and book Isabel ASAP. She is seriously amazing. What I really appreciated was the amount of time she spent on the trial run. Yes it does cost extra, but it was so worth it. I was undecided what I wanted but brought some inspiration pics. She took the time to try a couple styles out and tweaking it until I loved it! She really worked with me by creating aspects of different hair styles to get my overall look. What I appreciated most was her honesty. She told me what would stay and probably not stay with my hair and was really helpful with conveying this to my bridesmaids. The day of the wedding went so smooth, While it did seem like the hair was a long timeline, my photographer told me horror stories of weddings getting so behind from beauty. She buffered in the perfect amount of time, we finished with 15 minutes to spare and everyone looked absolutely gorgeous. She worked with me to recreate the trial run but tweaked a couple things so that my hair would stay longer. Also, all the bridesmaids loved their hair too which is a big plus! She was great to work with, so pleasant and fun to talk to!

Isabel listened carefully and did what I asked- but it wasn't exactly what I wanted (since I hadn't been sure myself!). Over the months between my trial and the wedding, Isabel and I went back and forth with photos so we could hone in on exactly what I wanted. She was quick to respond and confident that on the day we'd get it right! She didn't suggest a second trial. And she was right! On the day she effortlessly executed exactly what I had imagined for my low, off-center, classic style. She and I also worked through a schedule for all of the other bridesmaids. On the wedding day she kept to time and was even able to effortlessly adapt as things changed with the makeup schedule. She was also a really fun and calming force in the room for the morning of getting ready! :) I would DEFINITELY recommend Isabel to my engaged friends!!

What I loved most the day of is that Isabel did 4 unique style for my bridesmaids. My only request was that they had updos because it was August, but she captured their personalities so well and they all looked gorgeous. She was a pleasure to work with and kept me relaxed with funny stories as we were getting ready. She was professional and kept us on track to be ready, which was important to me. My bridesmaids loved her and I would recommend her to any brides in the DMV area. -

Vanessa Sent on 01/28/2016I'll start by saying that I'm not a Hair Person. I don't style my hair in the morning, I like low-maintenence, and I find I touch my hair a lot, so I don't see much of a point in taking the time to do it in the morning (aside from running a brush through it!) However, when I was getting married, I wanted to do something a little different, but not over-the-top or complex.
Isabel met with me to find out what my initial ideas were. I'd made a small pinterest board to show her what interested me. After she'd had a look, we made arrangements for a "test run" so to speak, so I could see what the style looked like on me and how long it'd take her to work with my hair. My look was simple, but I was not about to trust MYSELF to do it. I wanted someone capable, professional.
In short, Isabel did a spectacular job with my hair. Our "test run" went great and I was able to see what she could do and she checked in with me as she went to see how I liked what the style was becoming. She managed to give my hair body (a feat in my opinion!) without it looking overwhelming, and she incorporated soft, loose curls into the hair that hung down around my face- and those curls maintained themselves through the whole ceremony, wedding and into our after party!
What was also really lovely about Isabel is how she connected with me: she asked me to tell her stories during our "test run:" how did you meet your husband? how's the planning going? what are you most excited about? what kind of music are you into? etc. On the wedding day itself, she was a calm presence in what was a very hectic albeit exciting day. I never had cause for worry or stress with regard to how I was going to look, all because of Isabel's skill, talent, conscientiousness and easygoing manner.
I would absolutely book Isabel again and recommend her to anyone looking for a hair stylist that is flexible, considerate, and a calming presence on their big day!
