My husband and I decided to have a small, relaxed 40-person wedding in our backyard in Bloomingdale, and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. The team at Timber Pizza (shout out Jo!) was truly amazing. They helped us craft the perfect menu and our guests couldn't stop talking about the hor d'oeuvres and pizzas. AND the ice cream bar (and drinks bar of course) were also big hits! Timber made our big day extra special and we couldn't be more grateful. I highly recommend them to anyone interested. -

Cannot recommend having a pizza party wedding enough. Timber provided high quality, wood fire oven pizza that all of our guests raved about. The appetizers were top tier and they have a fun variety of flavors in addition to standard cheese and pepperoni pies. The staff were great and the catering manager provided so much guidance and advice for our event. The best part was taking home boxes and boxes of leftover pizza at the end of the night - it made for a great "party favor" for guests. Highly recommend! -

Working with Timber Pizza has been absolutely NOTHING but incredible for our wedding. Before I talk about ourselves and our experience, I wanted to quickly shout out how amazing the individuals and team are. You can tell Timber Pizza takes care of their people with how we’ve been treated and how well they’ve shown up for us. That part absolutely matters when choosing who to invest into for your wedding.
Our food was absolutely AMAZING. Our guests were raving about it, and was truly a huge highlight of the reception. I cannot wait to eat it again, it’s that good. Also, the bartender was incredible too and soo friendly.
From start to finish, Kevin and the team made sure we got everything we wanted and we felt valued the entire time. They truly felt like apart of our celebration and friends and family. I can’t wait to see them again and please trust this review to use them for your wedding or event. You will not be disappointed!

We had Timber Pizza cater our wedding in DC for 65 guests, and they absolutely knocked it out of the park! From start to finish, their team was professional, accommodating, and a joy to work with. The food was a huge hit—everyone raved about the pizzas, salads, and drinks. They even went above and beyond to create a custom chicken tikka pizza by sourcing tikka masala sauce from one of our favorite restaurants, which was such a special touch!
Beyond the amazing food, Timber Pizza made the experience seamless. They handled everything, including bringing a keg to the wedding, and their coordinator, Maya, was incredibly responsive and attentive to all our needs. She made sure every detail was perfect, and we truly felt taken care of. We couldn’t be happier with our choice! -

We had a destination wedding and were looking for a slightly different option for catering. We stumbled across Timber Pizza Company, and we could not be happier! Their events coordinator, Kevin, was so easy to work with, guiding us through the process step by step and going above and beyond to assist us, and his staff the day of were all so professional and helpful.
And the food! The food was outstanding! We started with the OMG salad with slight modifications to account for nut allergies and it was the perfect warm up for the pizza. For the pizza, we had the green monster, margherita, and pretty in pepperoni. I have to be honest, I wasn’t sure how the green monster would be since it has kale and zucchini on top, but this was a crowd favorite and the flavors really blended! The margherita and pepperoni pizzas were fantastic as well, and all 3 had a light crust that was perfectly cooked through. They made enough for some people to have leftovers at the end of the night, and those boxes flew off the table! -

We used Timber pizza for our outdoor wedding and it was the best choice we could have made. The food was absolutely delicious, the team was on top of everything timing-wise, and so, so nice. We opted for a mock tail bar and provided all ingredients ourselves and the bartender stepped it up and created concoctions 10x better than we planned. At the end of the night they boxed up all the leftover pizza and mixed some extra drinks for us before they headed out. From tasting to execution, it was an amazing experience and we got so, so many compliments. -

Amazing Brick-Oven Pizza and Amazing Catering Company
Go for Timber Pizza!! My husband and I cannot say enough about Timber Pizza. We still have friends and family complimenting the pizza at our wedding to this day. We chose Timber Pizza for our wedding in September 2022 after reading their amazing reviews on Wedding Wire and Google. We sealed the deal with this catering company even before our taste testing. We went to our tasting with our fingers crossed and walked away thrilled that we chose them. Everything was absolutely delicious, from the appetizers to the pizza to the side salad. And Aaron, our tasting host and one of the owners, was so easy going and attentive. He also assured us that all our guests dietary restrictions would be met. Then came the wedding day and Timber Pizza blew us away. Kevin from the Richmond location coordinated our event. His team arrived and set up in the rain with no issues. All of the food was fresh, hot, so fast, and served buffet style. The presentation of all the food elements were so beautiful, elegant and high-class. We chose the Chimichurri- portobello Sliders and Pepper Poppers for apps; the LRF for the side salad; and the Bentley, Green Monster, and The Norman for our pizza. Everybody was so excited about the pizza and we got comments from nearly every guest about how delicious all of the food was. All of our guests who had dietary needs were so thrilled they could get a pizza too. And after everyone had firsts and seconds, the pizza still kept coming. Guests were taking whole pizzas pies to their tables too snack on during dancing and for later in the night. It added such a special and unique element to our wedding day. Kevin and his team even bussed the tables as the night came to a close and put all the rental dish-ware into their designated bins that we rented from a different company! They boxed up all the leftover pizza and left it for guests to take as they pleased. Everything from start to finish with Timber Pizza was absolutely perfect. Everybody was flexible, professional and very communicative during the whole process. Best of all their pizza is AMAZING! We highly, highly recommend this catering company if pizza is your plan.
COUPLE’S TIP: Make an announcement / put up signs for guests with dietary restrictions to directly speak to the catering staff when they walk up to the buffet tables — that, or just be sure to have a clear plan of attack with Timber Pizza regarding this. This was an oversight for us — although we had provided a list of our guests’ dietary restrictions to Timber during the planning stages, our guests were not fully aware of the procedures for requesting a special pizza be made for their dietary restrictions. This was our only oversight, so not a diss on Timber, but perhaps something that could be remedied with better communication and planning! -

We used Timber Pizza to provide food for a post wedding party for 100 people. From the initial conversations through the final service, the team at Timber was great to work with. Everyone was incredibly nice and professional; they were willing to be flexible and adjust timing and schedules to meet our needs.
We had 5 different appetizers, 4 different pizza types, salads and desserts. The food was AMAZING. My guests (and some are pretty picky!) raved about how great everything was. Timber Pizza was able to accommodate food allergies which was a huge benefit for us.
I would highly recommend Timber Pizza and would absolutely use them again to cater future events -

From start to finish, we were well taken care of - from the initial consult, to the tasting, to the UNMATCHED day of service, everyone on the Timber team was a true delight to work with. Guests (about 250 of them!) raved about our food at our wedding that Hurricane Ian decided to crash! The team was amazing and were hustling to provide delicious food to our guests. We had a chicken skewer, portobello slider, arancini, and a salmon bite to start and then you can't go wrong with any of their pizzas and salads. From our tasting in which Chris and his staff stuffed us full of delicious food to the big day...the company was wonderful to work with. Super flexible and accommodating and did I mention...the guests can't stop talking about it over a month later! If you are looking for a different twist on wedding catering, look no further. We could not have been happier! -

So happy we picked Timber!
Kevin and the Richmond Timber location catered my wedding in Waynesboro, VA. Having a catering background myself, I was beyond impressed. I wanted a more casual feel but still able to dress up the reception and give people a different wedding experience. Not only was the pizza and appetizers (the apps were SO good) delicious, the presentation and pizza itself was BEAUTIFUL. The ingredients were fresh and the pizza was hot and made on site. Our guests raved about the pizza and had boxes to take home for anyone who wanted. The vendors were equally impressed and wanted them on their vendor list asap. Kevin was a pleasure to work with and was very responsive and accommodating. They have definitely figured out wood fire pizza on a large scale and anyone should feel very confident in hiring them. I’m so glad I saved money on traditional wedding food and it ended up being SO much better! -

Timber was on our venue's approved caterer's list and we knew right away that we wanted to go with their services. Having a pizza oven set up right at your venue with an amazing array of choices is too great to pass up. Chris and Maya helped us cater our wedding and did an incredible job. Since our wedding was in the fall but a lot of our planning was occurring in the summer time, they did their best to accommodate us with their seasonal menu changes that were expected for the time of our event. The tasting they hosted for us was thorough and helpful, and they made us a half pizza of every flavor on their menu. Needless to say, we had leftovers for a few days! Our guests loved having a nontraditional meal served, and you can never go wrong with perfectly executed gourmet pizzas. Even better, they made some extras that guests could take home at the end of their night to enjoy after the party and dancing when that late night hunger kicks in. They also provided us bar service and coffee after dinner, which was flawlessly done. Drinks and signature cocktails were flowing all night. It was perfect! -

They're still talking about our food
We hired Timber Pizza for our wedding. Pre covid, our wedding was supposed to be about 100 people. It ended up being around 70 people. Timber was very flexible with us on the number of people. They worked with us through several date pushes and honored 2020 food prices in 2021 even though we offered to pay more.
Pizza is also incredibly versatile with your decor. We had white linen tablecloths and served pizza. And our guests LOVED the food. It's been 2 months since our reception and people still talk about it whenever a wedding comes up. Break outside the box, serve great food and you won't regret it! -

Chris, Aaron and the Timber Pizza team are incredible. It was my husband's dream to have them cater our wedding and I am so glad we chose them! With planning a wedding in the middle of COVID, things were beyond stressful, but Timber was there to help us along the way! From being flexible in the planning, to helping us figure out the safest way to feed our guests - they were on it! And day of - they were a dream. Everyone was so enthusiastic and great to work with. After experiencing many weddings where I left hungry, I was delightfully surprised to hear all my closest friends and family freaking out over our food.

“Who is your caterer?” “Who did the catering” “Who is THIS CATERER?”
Our caterer was Timber Pizza.
I know some of you are reading and thinking you just did Pizza at your wedding? It was so much more than that. We sat down with Jared and created an extensive menu that included 5 hefty appetizers, 1 side salad, & 3 different pizzas. The goal was to fully utilize their wood fired oven that would be brought on-site. That is exactly what we did. Let me break out how the food was served:
First 2 Hours: 5 Appetizers
[1 Appetizer Example]: a pineapple wedge pre-soaked in tequila, sprinkled in spices, wood fired on-site, skewered, and served. Every pineapple was eaten in less than 3 minutes.
Then right when you thought you might have room for one more appetizer...
Salads and 3 Pizzas Served
[1 Pizza Example]: Pesto sauce, mushrooms, thick bacon, smoked paprika, and topped with fresh mozzarella served 2 slices at a time. Extra slices were put in boxes for end-of-night snacking. Yes, every box was taken home by guests.
If that doesn’t sound fantastic enough, to pull this all off was the best waitstaff we didn’t even know we could ask for. Everyone working felt like they could have been a friend who just happened to be bartending, running food, or asking if you wanted another empanada. One of our guests even asked: “did you hire any friends to help with tonight?” We didn’t! Though the Timber staff was a perfect fit.
If you can’t tell from my gushing, if you ever consider Timber for your event, look no further. They made our wedding food the most memorable for many … and full for everyone else! -

The very best
We are former residents of DC and loved dining at Timber Pizza when living in Columbia Heights. We knew we wanted to incorporate our love for DC in our wedding, and hiring Timber was a natural choice. Our initial plan was to have a 120-person event in 2021 at a venue in DC, but plans quickly changed and we had a small, scaled-down backyard wedding 8 months earlier than anticipated in the 'burbs. Chris, Aaron, and the team at Timber were incredibly accommodating and professional, easily pivoting to our new plan with ease. All of our guests raved about their food (as we knew they would!) and we couldn't be happier with their service from the very beginning. Thank you, Timber, for your amazing service and generosity. -

Timber was one of the highlights of our wedding. They were by far the best vendor to work with because of their kindness, quick responses, and endless flexibility. Unlike other vendors you will work with, Timber responds to emails within hours or a day. Timber blew us away with their hand-crafted appetizers (sweet potato empanadas, croque monsieurs), salad, and pies. They even sourced the ice cream from our favorite DC shop, Mount Desert Island Ice Cream, at our request. From the ownership, to the chefs, to the catering crew, we got to personally connect with each of these wonderful people who made our pandemic wedding happen. Timber was incredibly flexible as our wedding plans changed umpteen times due to COVID, and we would highly recommend them to anyone. The icing on the cake was that their service was significantly more affordable than any other DC-based caterer we looked into. And, let's be real, any guest would be thrilled to eat pizza and ice cream all night long. -

We had the best experience with Timber Pizza. We had a small 25 person wedding at a townhouse in Georgetown and Timber made the experience so easy. Timber and their staff were incredible! Not only were they amazing the day of the wedding but so helpful in our planning process. They were always there when I had questions along the way and responsive at all times. The day of the wedding, they helped us with setting up the entire cocktail hour area, reception, and ceremony. Also, the cleaned up every area and packed up all the trash for pick up. If you love pizza like we do then there is o better pizza in the DMV than Timber. Timber Pizza did an excellent job catering the wedding. They had no problem setting up bars in both the cocktail hour and reception areas. From what I could tell, no guest was waiting for food and Timber was kind enough to box up leftovers at the end of the night.
They did an excellent job catering to the dietary restrictions of our guests, and some of the vegetarians said, "I'm surprised they have multiple vegetarian options that not only taste great, but taste very different from each other".
If you want to do something more memorable than the Chicken/Steak/Salmon dinner options for your wedding, go with Timber! -

We had such a great experience with Timber. Our reception was at Republic Restoratives, and the two work together seamlessly! Chris was a pleasure to deal with and wound up staffing our wedding (it was great to meet him in person!). The whole process of selecting food was very low key, no pressure, and the service that Timber brought was fantastic. All the guests were impressed, and I have colleagues asking me about Timber to hire them for future events. Not to mention, the food was amazing, and I totally didn’t eat enough! -

We had Timber Pizza cater our rehearsal dinner this past weekend and everything was perfect - from the coordination, to their flexibility with food allergies, to the best pizza I have ever had. I highly recommend hiring them for any kind of event! They also work directly with a rental company to provide you with tables, bar tables, chairs, plates, etc. Their catering menu also includes salads, family style starters, and appetizers like shrimp skewers or caprese skewers. We knew we weren't people who wanted traditional wedding catering, so Timber (a preferred vendor at our venue) was a dream. Not gonna lie, there were a lot of people who questioned the choice of pizza for a wedding. But when the night was over, we received so many compliments, and it's very easy to know why -- the food is delicious! They make all of the pizzas fresh in their portable wood fired oven, and they offer a variety of tasty appetizers and salads. They also had fantastic bartenders who kept our guests happy through the night. Timber also helped our coordinator flip the main ballroom for our dinner reception post ceremony, and they did an amazing job, setting everything up to our specifications.
The only hitch throughout the process was responsiveness -- sometimes emails would go unanswered for a while, which can be taxing if you're planning your own wedding. But overall, the food and experience were worth it. -

We wanted pizza, beer, and gelato at our mountain wedding out near Shenandoah, and Timber was absolutely perfect! We were blown away at how much they were willing to work with our budget and included tastings, kids under a certain age, dairy-free/gluten-free options, and so much more. They are completely self sufficient and worked with my venue (Faithbrooke in Luray, VA) perfectly. I would only say that sometimes their communication wasn't the most responsive; however, I was usually able to reach out to someone else and get what I needed taken care of. Overall, we were completely happy with choosing Timber for our wedding and still are hearing guests rave about how fun it was that we had pizza but mostly how insanely delicious their options were! -

We loved working with Timber and are so, so, so happy we hired them for our wedding. We had 160 guests in an August 2019 Washington DC wedding. Timber was a preferred vendor for the venue, but we had actually already decided we wanted to serve pizza at the wedding and that we would go with them regardless of venue. A couple things to highlight:
- We opted to provide our own ice and booze/drinks (beer, wine, spirits for two cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks). We used their bartenders and their liqueur license which was about $400 in DC.
- They brought the mixers for our cocktails (lemonade for the ceremony, and for mixers with gin; ginger beer for our whisky cocktail)
- We partnered with their preferred rentals partner DC Rentals which made it SO easy - if you are in doubt, don't be. DC rentals was amazing!
Back to timber - we worked with a few contacts in the early stages - I will say communication was a little intermittent in the begining - however that could be because we were many, many months out (9) and a lot of the actual work for catering needs to happen in the month or two before hand. I was just antsy and didn't know what to expect. We worked really closely with the owner Chris in the month prior to the wedding and it was super smooth - he answered ALL (what felt like 900) questions I had, and was great about meeting up with us for our tasting.
- Timeline: We contacted them in January or so, and then they sent us a proposal. You pick your options, sign and pay half. Then you get down to business about two months prior to your event. Their menu is seasonal so you want to do your tasting closer into the date so that you can get the same menu options!
- We had 160 guests, about 20 vegans or gluten free folks. They allowed those folks to ask for a vegan or GF pizza - the response was FAST, and the pizza (we were told) was the best they had ever had (especially the GF one!) We had one salad option, 4 pizza options, and three appetizers during a cocktail hour (the empanadas are unreal). We also opted to do the ice cream bar, customized it to have vanilla and chocolate. They box up pizza at the end for folks to take home!
- The staff were all SO nice - and we didn't have any issues with food, drink, etc.
If we could go back, we would potentially hire one additional bar tender to help keep lines down (but obviously this depends on the drink-habits of your guests!)
- Our venue did the initial set up, and timber did the switch - if there were any issues, i didn't hear about it - which is great!
All in all, we LOVED working with them, and the pizza was so, so delicious. It fit us, our venue, and our people - you will not be disappointed - folks were well fed and happy and filled to the brim with deliciousness!

We love Timber Pizza and were very excited when we found out they catered weddings. A few things from our experience lead us to offer some words of advice for others.
Off the bat, we should note that when we expressed our disappointment to Timber after the event about some things that caused headaches, the head of catering was responsive and they went out of their way to make things right.
We signed a contract with Timber for both catering and as a bartending service. Among the things that created challenges in the lead up to our event and on the day of:
-Minimal communication with the event point person in the weeks prior to the event, despite us reaching out via multiple methods. We had one conversation to establish the menu, but had to be persistent to get questions answered after that. Some of the things we discussed (like them providing signs for the pizzas) were not taken care of on the day-of.
-One of our guests had a gluten allergy. During our menu conversation we discussed that it was standard practice for the staff to fire that person’s pizza first to avoid contamination. Not only did that not happen day of, but the groom and the guest had to speak to the staff during the event about making a special pizza after the regular pizzas had already been fired in the oven.
-The team forgot several liquors and were making odd concoctions that did not resemble the agreed-upon cocktail menu or simple drink orders from guests. There was also a significant line because the bartender was not prepared or being assisted by the other staff.
-We did not receive coffee service we paid for.
The food was great, definitely the Timber we are familiar with and were expecting that night! Our guests liked having food that was nontraditional and casual but still really delicious.
Things are going to go wrong on your wedding day, and you can’t anticipate what they will be. We appreciated Timber reconciling our frustrations and ultimately had a lovely day, but thought it was worth offering some advice to couples considering this option:
-Clearly communicate in writing about important details (like allergies) ahead of time.
-Make sure to designate a point person (coordinator or trusted family member) day-of to check on important details.
-Print your own signs for food (we did for drinks only, though none of the mixed drinks came out as they were supposed to so that was a wasted expense and effort).
-Consider opting for simpler bar drinks (though both of our drinks had a maximum of four ingredients).
