Beautiful trio for our wedding ceremony!

We had a string trio for 60 minutes, which included 30 minutes of pre-ceremony cocktail music and our processional and recessional songs for the actual ceremony. They showed up timely and played our songs exactly as we had imagined.
After signing our contract, they sent us their repertoire to choose our songs from and it was very diverse and extensive! They have a lot of experience playing both classical pieces and string covers of modern songs. We had the option of either picking the exact songs to play or giving a few examples and letting them set the song list. We picked the specific songs we wanted for the ceremony but just gave a general vibe for the pre-ceremony music and they absolutely nailed it! Having the live music aspect to our wedding ceremony made it feel so special.

Lovely Harpist

Thank you Amy and team for such a wonderful experience! The harpist we had at our ceremony and cocktail hour was so talented. My vision of walking down to the Young and Beautiful harp cover came to life. Such a magical evening!

Beautiful addition to my ceremony

First off, I want to thank Third Floor Strings and Amy, for being gracious enough for accommodating the postponement of our wedding due to COVID-19. They were very understanding and did not penalize us for having to move our date.

Amy was responsive and courteous when it came time to have our ceremony. The musicians that arrived were all excellent and very talented. Things changed at the last minute and they were able to go with the flow in regards to who walked in the ceremony.

I also loved that my guests were able to walk into the venue as they were playing. It really added that extra touch of elegance to our day that I so desired.

My only regret is that I didn't get to enjoy the beautiful music as much since I was the bride. I also wish I walked a little slower so I could hear them play my song as I walked down the aisle.

Overall, they provided an amazing amount of value and I absolutely would book them again and highly recommend them to anyone else looking to add a string quartet to their day.

Great Quality Vendor!

Third Strings was awesome! They came and performed their job wonderfully. We had to postpone our wedding once in February due to the crazy snow storm Texas got hit with, and they were great at communicating and flexible when it came to rescheduling for our new August 14th date. They had no issues with getting the venue on time and played beautiful music! Any questions we had they responded quickly which is really appreciated when emailing 10+ vendors. They were amazing you won't be disappointed.

Incredible musicians!

We had a cello and violin duo play music for our ceremony and cocktail hour. They played beautifully, and it really added a special element to our ceremony. They can play a large variety of music from worship and classical music to contemporary songs. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to have live music!

Perfect Cello and Guitar Duo

Highly recommend working with Third Floor Strings for your wedding! We did a lot of research and Amy's elegant, professional services is the best price you will find in Houston. Amy made the planning process easy and they have a large variety in their repertoire for the Cello and Guitarist duo we chose! We couldn't be happier! She was also very patient and understanding with our 6 month rescheduled date due to COVID.

Look not further!!

I first heard the Third Floor Strings at Balmorhea’s Open House. We walked into the chapel & they were playing and they blew us away! The same thing happened for us on our wedding day. Third Floor Strings is amazing at what they do and so great to work with. Highly recommend them if you are looking for a live string quartet to play for your ceremony or cocktail hour!

Absolutely beautiful!

I found third floor strings while attending an open house at my venue balmorhea. When I walked in and heard them playing, I fell in love instantly and I knew I HAD to have them play at my ceremony. I gave them just a few specific songs for me to walk in to and for us to leave to and then I let them pick the rest (prelude music etc.) It was SO beautifully done. Every bit of it. No awkward silences in music transitions, everything was so smooth. I highly recommend them. You won’t regret it. I had the string quartet and they are SO reasonably priced.

beautiful music!

ever since I fell in love with the Piano Guys, I knew I wanted instrumentals part of my wedding but not from a DJ booth. I found third floor strings and booked immediately. I saw them perform at my venue's open house and loved them! I loved having a string trio during our ceremony. they provide you with a list of songs they are able to perform so it made it very easy for us.

Third Floor Strings played at our ceremony for our April wedding at Ashelynn Manor. JUST BEAUTIFUL. I was on the fence about having live music at our ceremony in the beginning, but all it took was for me to hear Third Floor Strings in person and I was just in love with the music they play. They will add such a beautiful touch to your ceremony, with so many genres and songs to choose from and each sounding so beautiful. They really are the full package- so professional, extremely talented, and an overall joy to work with.

I could not recommend this group more. We hired a string quartet for our wedding ceremony and had a fantastic experience from the beginning. AMy was great to work with. As we got closer to the event, I chose music that she did not have in her collection, but she was so accommodating and was able to get the music for the ceremony. Thanks for a great experience!

We hired a trio for our wedding on 9.24.16. Amy was SUCH a joy to work with throughout the entire process and they really elevated the entire ceremony with their immense talent and professionalism. Having Third Floor Strings play at our wedding ceremony made it all the more special. Booking a string trio was one of the best decisions I made! Amy and her team were so easy to work with and I truly appreciated how promptly she responded to e-mails. I cannot stress enough how much that put me at ease throughout the wedding planning process. They were reasonably priced and were also extremely professional. They have a very large repertoire of songs to choose from and provide you with a music selection questionnaire that you complete for each part of the ceremony. The process was simple and the service was OUTSTANDING. I would highly recommend them for any special event.

As the bride, it was really hard for me to judge the music during the beginning of the ceremony. But, after watching our wedding video, I was really impressed with their overall performance. I remember hearing a few pieces while I was waiting to come in to the chapel and it sounded very lovely. There was one piece in particular that they played that almost made me tear up. It sounded so beautiful. While I wasn't the one that dealt with them directly (it was my Matron of Honor), she didn't have any complaints at all about working with them. They were wonderful and would definitely recommend them to anyone. Thanks!

I cannot even begin to explain how much I love everyone in this group! I booked them more than a year and a half before my wedding, because I knew, when I first heard them play, that I NEEDED to have them set the ceremony to my whole wedding. 3 months later, I am still getting questions about the violinists at my wedding. They were amazing, included my crowd and had everyone talking about them non-stop. Including my husband and I.
So so happy I had Third Floor Strings as a part of my wedding, I couldn't have picked anyone better!
HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGGGGHLY recommend Third Floor Strings for ANY special event life!

They had so much music to choose from! We wanted both traditional and current song and they had it all! Out all all the vendors we talked to Third Floor was the most affordable. Their contract was very consise and to the point. They sounded amazing!! Everyone commented on how beautiful they played! We were very impressed with their services!

Third Floor Strings did an amazing job, they played beautifully! We received nothing but compliments from our guests. Amy was very patient and helpful with the music selections, she was even able to get an arrangement for a song that wasn't in her repertoire that my husband wanted me to walk down the aisle to. Amy and Third Floor Strings were nothing less than PERFECT!! They had excellent communication throughout the entire planning process. They have a VERY LARGE repertoire of songs from which to choose. However, they were also willing and very able to play a couple of string arrangements that I supplied in advance. They performed all of the music at the ceremony, which included accompanying the groom's godmother's vocals on Ave Maria. They communicated with each other a couple of times to make the arrangements and only needed a few minutes before beginning to perform to do a final run-through of the song. It sounded absolutely beautiful. We had a full Catholic mass, and the musicians were very familiar with the format and played all of the music for the parts of the ceremony without a hitch. The string quartet then went from the church to the reception venue and played the first hour of the reception. During this time, they played string arrangements of famous pop songs. All of our guests absolutely loved the music!! It was a testament to their professionalism that they were able to switch from classical church music to rock music without even blinking an eye. The musicians were all fantastic and very professional, especially in working with many of our requests. It was such a relief to not have to worry about the music for our wedding. We simply picked out the songs we wanted, and Third Floor Stings did the rest. They were also a great VALUE. They performed at both the ceremony and first hour of the reception for less than some other string quartets in town wanted just for the ceremony performance. I would recommend Third Floor to anyone with the utmost confidence. Amy (and the other musicians) were a pleasure to work with and listen to at our wedding. They made things very easy for us, and we are very grateful for the wonderful job they did in making our wedding that much more special. If you're going to use a string quartet, use Third Floor!!

Loved the music. They have a wonderful selection of traditional and unique pieces, and I was delighted that they were able to accommodate my admittedly unusual request to play the Jurassic Park theme song. Highly recommend.

Amy and Co did a good job for our ceremony music. My only regret is that I did not get to hear them play because I came it at the end ...but from my guests they said the strings were great. We decided to utilize a mix of current hits with some classics...my guests specifically loved the 80s tributes =)

Third Floor Strings was amazing! Their repertoire is impressive. I received so many compliments on the music for the ceremony. Their violinist was even able to make an arrangement of Everything by Michael Buble (our song) for us, so we could use that as our processional music.
Amy was great to work with - she answered all of my questions, gave me recommendations on songs, everything I needed.
My wedding was truly magical and I was so happy they were a part of it!

This is an absolutely amazing company. Amy was sweet, communicative, and invited us over to listen at an event before we decided to book. We went with the duo guitar and cello for our wedding. They arrived early for set up and met up with our friends to go over logistics. The location I had picked initially wasn't ideal so they were flexible in giving my suggestions that might work better. They also brought their own speaker which worked perfectly given the open air location. Be sure to ask if you can record their performance! The day flies by so fast and when you're getting ready, you may not get the chance to sit back and enjoy the music. Highly recommend Third Floor Strings!

Third Floor Strings were brought in to provide the music for our corporate holiday party. THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! Amy Floyd (the groups leader) is incredibly professional in her approach and a pleasure to work with. She was available for contact and willing to work/talk through the event in detail. She knew what questions to ask to ensure the event went seamlessly in terms of venue acoustics and set-up. Not only did we ask for a quartet, but we also had some contemporary music requests. All of or requests were catered to without any problems. The group arrived and were set up on time (which was very important) and playing by the time the first guests started to arrive. Each member was exceptionally talented and were a pleasure to talk to, they were also willing to accommodate requests from party goers! If it were up to me I would rate them higher than five stars. The service they provide with regard to their professionalism, versatility and value can't be beat for the price they charge. Hire these folks, you wont regret it!

I decided to have a string trio at our wedding ceremony and it was a great choice. Amy was extremely helpful throughout the planning process. I wanted a Nigerian song "today today by Aramide" made for my aisle walk and they did an exceptional job. Amy was highly responsive and gave me great ideas for our wedding ceremony. They did a fabulous job at our wedding and i highly recommend them to add that special touch to your wedding day. I hired 3rd Floor Strings for my special proposal at Discovery Green Park in Houston, Texas on 3/29/14. It was not your ordinary proposal as I requested the quartet to arrive in a "flash mob" style (i.e. one by one) with T-shirts saying "Will" "You" "Marry" "Me?" The quartet did such a great job coordinating positioning for the flash mob, what to play, etc., and even offered to play an encore after I proposed! You can tell they are very passionate about music and really care about what they are doing. Amy was very responsive and flexible--I would highly recommend them! I booked with Amy on somewhat short notice because I wasn't sure what kind of music I wanted played at my church wedding ceremony. This was one of my best decisions I made! Amy was great to work with. She is very responsive and helpful! I was so happy Amy was available to play at my wedding. The first time I contacted her she called me right away and helped me decide if I needed a trio or quartet. I chose the trio and it was great! Also, as the wedding quickly approached I still hadn't decided what music to ask them to play. Amy called a few days before the wedding and she helped me decide the important ceremony songs and I left the rest to her! I can't begin to describe how pleased I am with Amy and Third Floor Strings! First of all, as many have already mentioned, Amy is very responsive to emails. And when you're trying to coordinate so many moving pieces when planning a wedding, this is so important. Not only that, she is very warm in her emails and you can tell that this is something she is passionate about and something she puts her heart into. Secondly, Third Floor Strings has a great repertoire and Amy was helpful in offering opinions about ceremony songs to include when I wasn't sure what would sound nice. They are so professional and knowledgeable that you don't need to do any micro-managing whatsoever, which is another plus when you have so many other things on your mind. And finally, the trio sounded amazing. I, unfortunately, was only able to hear 3 or 4 songs because I was either getting ready in another room or was taking pictures after the ceremony, but the songs I heard were played beautifully. We received so many compliments from our guests :) They really gave our day a very special feel.

We got married in a Catholic Church, so when it came that time to choose our music for the ceremony.......smh was the most difficult part of the wedding planning process. As for any Catholic brides out there know that pre-recorded music is not allowed inside of the church. When our church director sent me the list of songs that were common to play in a Catholic ceremony setting. I mean most of the songs were like "hi welcome to snoozville"! Which is not the type of mood i was trying to set for our big day. We wanted soft and romantic, something that would portray us as a couple and the Halloween music(the list of songs that the church could provide) with all the organ tempo was just not happening for this bride!

So I contacted Third Floor Strings, which was a recommended vendor from our venue. First of all out of all my vendors that i worked with Amy with Third Floor Strings was by far my FAVORITE!!! She was responsive from the very first email upto the night before our wedding. She was very professional and answered all my questions with in the matter of mintues. We had a duo with a harp and cello, it was amazing to have all my songs we wanted played by them. It just set the mood for our entire day! My mother, aunt, grandma, and older sister say even until this day that the moment they saw the doors open and saw me standing there, hearing the duo starting to play as I took my first step towards my now husband. That the room just seem to just have this warm glow and they just could literally see and feel the love that my husband & I shared for each other. Even when we got our pictures back from our photographer, you could just hear the sweet, soft strings slowly start to just play in your head just from looking at a photo!!! Which is exactly what I always hoped for on our big day. We couldnt be any happier with choosing them.

They played during my ceremony and it was just amazing! Many guests complimented the ceremony and how beautiful the music was. I am so pleased with the third floor strings, Amy Floyd and her group amazed us beyond words, my ceremony was very short but was very memorable, romantic, and beautiful because they assisted by playing during our wedding ceremony. I'll never forget on accident I asked her to change a song with the wrong wedding date (which was the upcoming Saturday), she quickly responded and said we will make those changes for you despite the fact that our wedding was two months away. My favorite moment from this event was during our personal wedding vows, Amy told me that she has never played music during wedding vows but if that's what I wanted she would make sure it would happen Words cannot explain the moment when she played a thousand years by Christina Perry how the moment was at still. It was by far the most beautiful moment and they played it very quietly so you could still hear the vows. Everyone raved at how breathtaking that moment was. It was the highlight of my wedding night. I was so incredibly lucky to come by Third Floor Strings. They happened to play at my venue a couple months before and were referred by the Venue Coordinator at House Plantation because of how amazing they were as well as how EASY they were to work with. I have heard many horror stories of string quartets being demanding and really hard to work with.. NOT AT ALL THE CASE with this group. We couldnt afford all 4, although I really wish we could have, so we used a new grouping they put together of a guitar and cello. It was amazing. we go so many great compliments and they went out of their way to learn 3 songs for our wedding music. The coordinator Amy is so great and very responsive as well as Aimee, the cellist that played at my wedding. I just cant give enough great comments about this group!!!!!!

Great music! I worked with 3rd Floor Strings for my ceremony music and they did great. It was a pleasure and thoroughly excellent experience working with Third Floor Strings. They are well organized, responding to all inquiries in an extremely timely manner. During the wedding, they were unable to get a hold of us to collect the rest of the payment. I received an email a few days later from them during our honeymoon. They politely assured us that there was no rush and to make the payment at my own convenience. They could have pushed for payment the day of or during the honeymoon, but did not. This was indicative of their emphasis on professionalism and how much they care about customer satisfaction.

Aside from being stellar at customer service, their skills are outstanding. We received numerous comments on how well they played and the perfect ambiance they created for our ceremony. They dressed elegantly and looked professional. I highly recommend Third Floor Strings to anyone seeking a classy addition to a wedding ceremony.

Third Floor Strings did an excellent job providing the ceremony music for our wedding. Our main point of contact was Amy, and she was very responsive to our questions during the planning process, both before and after contracting. She was flexible on the services they provided: we originally contracted for a string duo, and then opted to upgrade to a trio about a month before the wedding. Amy was eager to accommodate and we were only charged the incremental cost from our original duo package to the trio package (we didn't have to pay extra for making the change late in the game). They have a very broad repertoire and are also willing to learn additional pieces if they can source the music. We had a pretty good idea of what music selection we wanted, but they also provided a sample program and a list of their most requested songs for the different parts of the ceremony to help guide our selection. Overall great experience. Thanks Third Floor Strings!

Third Floor Strings provided the music during our daughter's wedding and did a marvelous job. Music quality was excellent, performing on queue and adding tremendously to the setting. Though they were out of the sight of our family and guests (in an upstairs balcony), they were attired elegantly and appropriately for the occasion. I wholeheartedly endorse their work.

Third Floor Strings is the best that money can buy! I contacted them at short notice and they were able to accommodate my song selections along with accompanying a vocalist. The quality of the music combined with their professionalism would make anyone want to only hire Third Floor Strings. A breath of fresh air!

Third Floor Strings was highly professional, easy to work with and the quality of their performance was outstanding. Everything that was promised was delivered in superb fashion, we even asked for special arrangements for our favorite pop songs and they were able to get those done and performed during our ceremony. Amy and the other Third Floor Strings musicians were terrific. They even learned my favorite song (which is not a traditional wedding song) and did a wonderful job performing it while we lit the unity candles. Highly recommended!

The entire experience in dealing with Amy and Third Floor Strings was wonderful. Making the arrangements was uncomplicated and Amy was professional and kind throughout the entire process. They will make your ceremony so special and elegant. I am so glad we chose this vendor. The atmosphere was excellent and they added it it. When I found out the sound system would not play my CD for the unity portion, I quickly sent a note through a friend to give to them and they played a beautiful selection during our unity ceremony. I am pleased to have selected this vendor. From the first email to the evening calls. Third Floor Strings is professional and great value for the service. I rate Third Floor Strings a 5.0 - My ceremony was held outside and on my day it rained.... even though it dried up right in the nick of time they didn't even concider leaving. Heather Corbett from the Third Floor Strings performed at my marriage proposal. I have no words to explain how impressed I was with Heather's performance. She worked with me on the special music I had requested, she was flexible with dates and time. The proposal was a surprise and it was to happen on an outdoor patio of a cafe in Rice University. My fiance and I were running a little late and it was about 92 degrees outside. Heather waited for us in that unpleasant heat and was ready to play as we walked in. It couldn't have been easy waiting in the heat for that long. She played beautifully and stayed back to celebrate with our friends! I couldn't have asked for more! I would highly recommend TFS to all my friends and I will hire their services at my wedding as well!

Amy helped set up the music for my wedding ceremony. I had an outdoor wedding ceremony and thought it would be perfect to have the group play. I booked very late in the wedding planning process and initially they could not accomodate me. Amy later called me back to let me know she put a group together at the last minute!!! It was so worth it. they sounded absolutely lovely and everyone raved about how they added a "classy touch" to the event. I would use them again and highly recommend them. They were prompt. Well dressed (they all had on black) and most improtantly, sounded great. Thanks Third Floor.

This was a small, last minute, put-together wedding without alot of frills. However, I was sooo glad we were able to get Third Floor Strings to provide the music. They really added so much to the atmosphere. The music was lovely and TFS played extra time after the ceremony since the bride and groom did not request music during the ceremony.
I would whole-heartedly recommend TFS for any event you may be considering. Top knotch music and professionalism!
