Beautiful Venue

The Woman's Club of Portsmouth is gorgeous! It was the most beautiful venue for my daughter's wedding. Beautiful architecture and lovely setup for a ceremony and a flip for the reception. Chrissy at the Woman's Club is so attentive and responsive and we could not have been happier with our choice.

Perfect venue, wonderful support!

The Woman's Club of Portsmouth was absolutely the perfect venue for our December wedding! The possibilities are endless in such a gorgeous space; I originally wanted to add tons of drapery and approximately 2 million more flowers before I was reminded by my now-husband that we did indeed have a budget... but ultimately, we didn't even NEED any of that extra stuff. The new floors and glittering chandeliers are so lovely that even very understated decor looks glamorous! We loved the ease and convenience of having our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in one space, and our guests were very pleased with that aspect as well. In addition to the space itself, working with Chrissy was such a joy!! She was so fun and easy to communicate with, and went FAR above and beyond for us MULTIPLE times in the year/month/week leading up to our wedding day. We are so appreciative and cannot reccomend this venue and its staff highly enough! The one cautionary note I would leave for prospective clients is to remind your guests (multiple times) to try to arrive earlier than they think they need to if they are planning on utilizing the complimentary valet parking!! As the venue does not have guest parking directly on site, it can take some time to get everybody in the building, and I wish I had sent another 3-4 reminders to my guests. But that being said, it worked out just fine and I wouldn't even call that a downside or negative at all, considering we understood this from the start, and all of the other amazing attributes of this venue and kindness of the staff!! Our wedding day was literally perfect, and we can't imagine having had it anywhere else. Thank you so much to Chrissy and everybody at WCP that helped make our day so wonderful!!!

Stunning Wedding Venue !!

The most beautiful venue!
Perfect location and staff!
The inside is massive and stunning, I had planned for my ceremony to be on the back deck the week of we had to pivot and move the ceremony inside and Chrissy was so helpful getting me connected to the best most affordable vendors to make it happen!
It was the most perfect day I cannot thank them enough!

Beautiful Space

Absolutely gorgeous venue. Everything went smoothly through the entire planning process, and day of was perfect! Lovely bridal suite to get ready in! Front and back porches were a nice touch for guests.

I can’t think of anywhere more beautiful

This venue has it all. Natural lighting. A beautiful, Big bridal suite. Plenty of indoor and outdoor space. Beautiful blooming flowers. So many places for photos. And a set upstairs that are the perfect entrance for the bride.

Even though it was 100° outside the temperature inside was cool and comfortable. They offered you plenty of tables and discounted chairs. They are very responsive to your emails.

I can’t say enough great things about this place. I received so many compliments on the building itself and will book it all over again.

9/19/21 Woman’s club of Portsmouth

This venue is absolutely stunning!! It has everything you need and it’s beauty alone requires minimal decor. We were able to have a beautiful ceremony outside and a reception inside that was incredible. We were even able to have pictures on the water during sunset that turned out beautiful. Super easy to work with the staff and they made sure all of my questions were answered promptly!

Stunning venue

WCoP is one of the most stunning, yet hidden, venues in the Hampton Roads area. It was initially our first choice venue, but didn't have our date available. Then came COVID. We had to move our date, and when our original venue couldn't support, we immediately wanted to book back at WCoP.

They were absolutely amazing to work with. It was a tough time as restrictions and capacity limits were changing, as well as CDC guidance, but WCoP was very transparent through it all and the absolute best to work with in the end. We had the venue the whole day, were able to drop things off early, and our vendors had plenty of time to set up.

The bridal suite is gorgeous, there is plenty of room for big wedding parties to hang out all day prior to the ceremony. We opted to hold the ceremony indoors, cocktail hour on the front porch, and then the reception inside once the space was flipped. It was a dream setting. Our pictures in the garden area out back are absolutely stunning and amazing.

The price for this venue was cheaper than a lot of other places we looked, but the quality is far greater. We would book this venue again in a heartbeat if we had to do it all over again.

Beautiful venue

After attending 3 weddings here, I knew I had to have MY wedding at this venue. Every aspect of this venue is beautiful, from the indoor ballroom to the outside decks. There are many ceremony locations available. We personally chose to have our ceremony indoors in the ballroom and have the room flipped for the reception. We had our cocktail hour on the back deck where guests enjoyed appetizers, drinks, and played corn hole! The bridal suite was perfect and very accommodating for getting a large bridal party ready the morning of the wedding. Overall wonderful experience!

Beautiful inside and out

Everything from the staff, the facility itself and the surrounding neighborhood is just amazing. We mainly worked with Brittany and she answered any and all questions that we had. Both her and Kelly made sure that we had all of our documents in on time and sent reminders as often as possible without overwhelming us. Their patience and help was much appreciated throughout such a stressful time. The venue speaks for itself with its beauty. We only had one mishap and it was the power going out for about 2 minutes during our getting ready process, but it was fixed promptly and we had no other issues for the rest of the evening. Seriously one of the best decisions that we made was to book our wedding here!

I could not have been happier choosing the Womens Club of Portsmouth as our venue. The venue alone is absolutely stunning. They have gorgeous hard wood floors, breathtaking chandeliers, cathedral height ceilings, an open back deck with a pergola, romantic covered front porch, spacious bridal suite and room for the guys too. This venue is romantic, warm, and beautiful; not to mention affordable. I am so happy choosing this venue!

We absolutely love this venue! We had the entire venue for the whole day and I wouldn't have had it any other way! My whole bridal party was able to get ready in the Bridal Suite and have our stylist come to us which made us not have to run around all day! We got married on the back porch underneath their pergola, had our cocktail hour on the front porch and our reception inside! All of our guest loved the valet parking and how beautiful the venue was. Brittany and Kelly are both so sweet and made sure all of our needs were met. I highly recommend this venue!

Most beautiful, romantic place for an evening wedding catered by the black pelican. Their good was spectacular and provided phenomenal service. The Buffett set up was unbelievably beautiful. I'd never of thought to have Buffett until I was at this wedding and saw this set up. Could not believe it. The facility was clean and very warm feeling. Beautiful water view from back deck. Picture perfect. Something you'd see in a magazine.

This venue was beyond perfect. From the moment I first saw this venue I knew it was where I wanted to get married. You can dress it up or use the bare minimum of decorations and your wedding will still be radiant. The bridal suite is imaculant and spacious. The down stairs bathrooms are just as equally beautiful. Basically you can't go wrong by choosing this place to say your I Do's.

The staff, Kelly and Brittany are amazing. They answered numerous of my e-mails and accommodated my many trips "just to see" the venue. They made me feel like I was the only Bride getting married there. I was always addressed by name and they took the time to listen to any and all of my concerns. If the venue doesn't seal the deal they will. I can not say enough wonderful things about this place. This venue will forever be imprinted on my heart.

The staff at the woman's club were amazing to work with! We got the entire venue from 8am until midnight to decorate, take down, whatever we needed to do. They include the tables in the rental price, which is great. The venue is so gorgeous. My guests still say how amazing it was!!

The Woman's Club was everything I could've dreamed of for my wedding. The beautiful vaulted ceilings, chandeliers, hardwood flooring, and the convenient bridal suite upstairs made this venue a clear choice. It's classic, needs minimal decorating and working with Kelly was so easy. She was patient and very responsive.

The Woman's Club of Portsmouth, while a difficult venue to attain, is a beautiful place and a great value! My spouse and I booked the venue two years in advance of our Valentine's Day wedding, and collaborating with the ladies who work there was such a pleasure. This is a MUST location for any wedding!

We just recently had our wedding at the Woman's Club of Porstmouth. Our entire experience was positive working with them leading up to the event and the day-of. They are a great value for such a beautiful venue and allow you the flexibility of choosing your own caterer and having the space for the entire day for set up. The Woman's Club has the added bonus of having a big deck and front porch for optional ceremony or cocktail hour space, along with such a nice Bridal room to get ready in. I highly recommend this facility for anyone's big day!

The Portsmouth Woman's Club is a beautiful venue! The Southern Charm Of the building is one of a kind. The flexibility to bring your own vendors is a huge bonus. Our day was absolutely perfect.

Absolutely the BEST wedding venue in Hampton Roads! The Woman's Club is absolutely stunning. It was remodeled specifically for weddings and events which is evident in how everything is so thoughtfully set up and laid out. It rained the day of our wedding and we still got amazing pictures due to the fact that the Woman's Club has so many beautiful spaces both indoors and outdoors. Brittany and the whole staff were amazing to work with as well. I will say that it books pretty far in advance (like a year and a half +) so I would be open to the idea of having a Friday or Sunday wedding- it worked just as well for us, if not better. It also saves you some money and gives you a few more dates to choose from as well.

So far, our experience with the Woman's Club of Portsmouth has been pretty great. The representative for the Woman's Club has been VERY responsive, even before we signed our contract. We decided to have our wedding reception on a Monday because the fee could not be passed up. It is so affordable and it might be possible that my dress may cost more. We have been to the Woman's Club a couple of times and the place has always been clean and smells brand new everytime. I really like how there is a ice machine in the kitchen which will make our catering cost even lower. The Club is big enough to have a separate area for Cocktail hour. This reception venue is A++

This is the most beautiful venue I have ever been in. The team here is wonderful and very accommodating. This venue truly lends its self to any style wedding. We took full advantage of all of its perks. i loved having a beautiful bridal suite to get ready and take pictures in. I also loved that I got to have my outdoor ceremony that I have always dreamed of but still have the class and elegance I wanted. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone and everyone! The space and amenities they offer for the low price are far better than any other venue in the area. Plus the beauty is matched by no other!

The Woman's Club of Portsmouth is a wonderful venue. We had one of the last weddings before they did a total remodel in 2012. It was great before, and now it is STUNNING! First of all, this place was totally affordable. I think the rates are higher post-remodel, but we paid like $1500 total which included day-before access. The staff was wonderful. They let us in early to decorate which was very generous of them. We were able to decorate the place however we desired. It is just the right size. We had 200 people for our wedding and reception and all fit comfortably without being overwhelmed by a huge venue. There are separate rooms, wonderful natural lighting, a porch, a gorgeous vaulted ceiling, a staircase with a bridal suite upstairs... I could go on and on about all the wonderful things this place has to offer. It's not huge and fancy, but it's a gorgeous and quaint place with indoor and outdoor arrangements. I would highly recommend it, especially after the remodel.

Not only is the Woman's Club of Portsmouth absolutely gorgeous, but Brittany and the other staff I worked with there are wonderful. Brittany's communication was AWESOME. She answered every email I sent quickly and also kept me (and the other upcoming brides) informed about what she needed from us and other information that would be helpful (hours they were open, etc.). On my wedding day when it was all set up with tables, linens, flowers, etc. it was so stunning I almost cried! It was unbelievable. The maintenance staff was available when I arrived that morning with decorations, and they offered to help me carry things in and made themselves available by phone if there was anything we needed at all. I considered many venues in Hampton Roads, but The Woman's Club of Portsmouth had everything I wanted -- charming, beautiful venue, elegant feel without being stuffy, great price, outside vendors allowed, awesome communication/responsiveness, options for outdoor or indoor ceremony. Just perfect! Highly recommended.

Great Beautiful Venue. The place is newly renovated and was a prefect for my casual wedding. Brittany responded quickly to all my questions and was super helpful. They included free valet, which was great, since parking is kind of limited. Also, you get the venue for the entire day starting at 8:30am, so I had plenty of time to decorate for my 6:00pm wedding. It has a beautiful bridal room upstairs that was great place from my bridesmaids and I to get ready.

I LOVE the Woman's Club of Portsmouth!! This venue is so beautiful and so versatile. We had both our ceremony and our reception here for our April wedding. We had the ceremony on the side of the venue under the trees and our reception inside under the beautiful vaulted ceiling. What I loved most about the venue was the ability to have the ceremony and reception in the same place, and have back-up plan in case in rained. We planned to move the ceremony indoors if need be. There was also a gorgeous bridal suite that was plenty big with plenty of mirrors for the bridal party to get ready. The groomsmen got dressed and ready in the conference room, also on site. I also have to mention that the coodinator at the Woman's Club, Brittany, is so wonderful and easy to work with. She was always willing to let me come by to do measuring or to answer any questions I had. She was so, so helpful. I highly recommend this venue!!

The most beautiful venue I've ever seen!! Set in a gorgeous established turn of the century neighborhood, the Woman's club of Portsmouth is a dream venue!! Brittany is so organized and personable. Our wedding was beautiful without an abundance of extra decor--simply from the architecture and natural beauty of this venue. Hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, chandeliers, columns and large porches with a fireplace. We couldn't have designed a better place if we tried.

GORGEOUS and very affordable venue! We had our ceremony outside on the back lawn, cocktail hour on the back deck, and the reception inside. Setting up took a long time, so it was nice that we had the venue for the entire day (unlike other venues that give you 5 hours for your event). Both Kelly and Brittany were responsive and helpful in emails, although it is difficult to get ahold of them via phone calls. The bridal suite is AMAZING--far better than any I had seen in the other 5 venues we looked at prior to selecting the Woman's Club. The bridal suite has a bathroom (which was crucial since peeing in a wedding dress is a difficult task and required the help of my bridesmaids), 2 makeup/getting ready stations, in addition to a vanity with two sinks, and couches to relax on. I had 8 bridesmaids, so we definitely needed all of the space! No vendors are included--which is good and bad. I liked that I was able to do my research and select all of the best vendors in the area, but it definitely made wedding planning A LOT of work and very stressful. They provide valet and security, which is nice, but no on-site coordinator (don't expect Brittany and Kelly to do this!). We ended up spending more money than we would have at an all-inclusive event venue, and A LOT more time planning, but I think that it was worth it in the end. My only complaint is that they took $300 out of our $500 security deposit for random clean-up fees. We hired a wedding coordinator who had done weddings at the Woman's Club before, and had plenty of people helping to clean up, but were simply unaware of the very specific clean-up requirements that were not listed on the contract (and Brittany and Kelly did not send us any reminders or a clean-up checklist prior to our event, which would have been helpful). Make sure that you clarify with them exactly what they expect as far as clean-up is concerned. Overall, if you are willing to do a lot of planning, this is a beautiful venue!

Amazing Venue for any Special Event

The Woman's Club of Portsmouth made our reception such a memorable event and we're so thankful that we let them help us make our big day so special. Chrissy helped us with all of requests and questions. She bent over backwards the week of the wedding and was very flexible for us due to a couple unique challenges. We're beyond satisfied with the whole process and customer service. Thank you!

Beautiful wedding venue!

I had my wedding here in November. Absolutely beautiful!!!! I highly suggest this venue. It’s a little bit on the pricy side but it’s so beautiful and I’m glad I had my wedding here. Only thing is you have to pay to have a rehearsal here, which for how much it cost, you would think that would be included in the price.

We had a great experience and Brittany was great to work with,

This venue was one of the prettiest we looked at. Brittany was great to work with. They offer the venue for the whole day and it is the only event going on unlike some others. It offers the flexibility of picking your own vendors and a beautiful area for pictures. I like that the site fee is reinvested back into the community. The price was a little high but overall a great wedding venue.

The Woman's Club of Portsmouth was the perfect venue for our August wedding. We were originally going to have our ceremony on the back deck, but with the summer heat and no shade, it easily felt 10-15 degrees hotter up there so we ultimately decided to do our ceremony on the side lawn which ended up being so beautiful and not to mention, much cooler. Our cocktail hour was held on the covered front porch under the fans. The inside of the venue, including the bridal suite and reception space, were spacious and absolutely beautiful with the cathedral ceiling, gorgeous chandeliers and wood floors - perfect for a vintage or rustic-themed wedding. Leading up to our big day, my fiancé, family and I made many trips to the Woman Club to take pictures, measurements, etc. Each and every time, Brittney was there to answer our many questions and greatly accomodated us when it came to our chair rentals being dropped off and picked up. The only thing I would change about this venue is what you receive for the price. Having rehearsal there is an additional cost and not always a guarantee if there's another wedding booked the day before and on the day of, you only have the venue for a 12-hr block of time. That made it a little stressful when coordinating hair and makeup (which we ended up doing off site because we had so many people) as well as setting up decorations. Otherwise, the Woman's Club is beautiful as it stands on its own, so you can get away with doing less decorations whereas other venues you really have to dress it up to make it look nice. And unlike other venues, the Woman's Club truly has a wide variety of options in which to hold your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. This venue is a gem not only for Portsmouth, but for Hampton Roads as a whole!

We absolutely loved this venue for our reception! It fit our Southern garden party theme beautifully! They were always willing to let us come look around as many times as we needed to figure out the layout. I just wished they were able to provide more cocktail tables and chairs. The great thing is that this venue is a blank canvas, and can take as many or as few decorations as you wish. Although, you'll have to bring in almost everything from somewhere else, so keep that in mind.

Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful venue! The staff is amazing and will quickly respond to emails and phone calls! I had my wedding here and I couldn't have picked a better location! My guest were in awe! Only thing I would recommend is that the venue should have someone vacuum the bridal suite! My photographer moved the couch to take pictures of me by the window and their was fruit,dirt and other food particles underneath the couch ! Also there should be a better system in place in regards to how much money the valet receives in tips. Other than that I would have gave them 5 stars.

What a lovely venue. Although we didn't get a Saturday date for our wedding like we wanted, we couldn't pass up the value for this venue. So much space and beauty. I can't wait you transform it for our special day!

As the mother of the bride, I will say The Woman's club of Portsmouth was a magnificent venue for my daughter's wedding day. They allow you to bring your own vendors so I hired Primo events of Virginia Beach for the catering portion and was working with Ron Form on the menu and reception timeline. My daughter and I wanted a cocktail appetizers reception party and food was coming out at different times which made our wedding very festive. Chef Anthony did a fabulous job and his food was so delicious.
I would recommend Primo Events as they have all the vendors you will need for your wedding.
My family had a wonderful experience thanks to Primo events and Woman's Club staff.

This venue is very gorgeous. The grounds are pretty and the inside offers the perfect rustic, chic look that is very popular for weddings. It also offers a great kitchen for catering staff to use and the fact that it does offer chairs and tables is a bonus to avoid more rental costs. I love that they are flexible with personal choice of caterer and third party companies to provide all event needs.

The only negative about the venue is the cost. It is very expensive considering other high requested wedding venues, plus all the additional rental costs that are incurred with using a venue that does not offer dishes, linens, etc. Overall, not too expensive, but on the high end for all you get with the rental cost.

As far as communication, I was very happy with working with Brittany and did not have any issues. She is very fast at responding and helping with anything needed.

The Woman's Club of Portsmouth was the perfect venue for our July wedding. We had our ceremony on the back deck with the pretty trees and trellis in the background, cocktail hour on the lawn and under the fans on the front porch, and the reception inside with the gorgeous chandeliers and hardwood floors. The bathrooms are very clean and spacious. The bridal suite is also nice and spacious, with multiple mirrors and a bathroom. Many vendors have been to the Woman's Club before, so that helped make the big day less stressful. The only negative thing my husband and I could think of is we had to pay to rehearse there and you do not get the venue for the whole entire day, so we were a little stressed trying to get everything set up before the ceremony started. Other than that, it is a wonderful venue!

The Woman's Club was a beautiful venue for our wedding. We loved that it could be dressed up to fit our theme and needs. The bridal suite was huge and comfy. That being said, the Woman's Club is in demand- and they know it. We were finally able to come and tour the venue in December- almost a year after booking. The staff greeted us but left us alone. They had scheduled tours with two separate families that hadn't booked at the same time as our appointment. It kind of felt like a slap in the face that they got brochures, tours, and the whole nine yards. I guess because they had our money they didn't feel like they needed to do anything for us. I'm glad that my wedding as at the Woman's Club and it was overall positive.

The Woman's Club of Portsmouth was a beautiful venue for my wedding. The staff was very responsive and helpful, and the venue was in beautiful condition when we got there. The place provides a lot of flexibility in the feel you desire for your wedding, so we were able to make it exactly what we wanted. They have a partnership with Waterford Event Rentals that allows you to rent chairs that are on site, so that made the set-up process very easy and saved us the delivery fees! Overall, the site was perfect for our outdoor ceremony and reception in the hall.

The venue is absolutely beautiful- so much that they've got pretty much the entire next year book already so flexibility is a bit of an issue. Although it was recently renovated, there are still some issues: some of the flooring in the main room (after rapidly expanding due to the heat and shrinking from the cold) has become in need of repair- but put a table over it and it shouldn't be an issue (they said it'd take about 6 weeks to "settle" so I'm not sure when they plan on replacing it if they're booked for the next year). The bride's room is gorgeous, however it should've been at least vacuumed beforehand and it wasn't, so there was lots of dirt and whatnot on the carpet. The price was very reasonable compared to to the other venues we looked at, so it you have a smaller budget, this is a good place. On the other hand, my (now) mother-in-law and I went to take measurements one day to figure out placement, and the lady working there wanted all the measurements we had. This only really bothered me because 1.) Shouldn't they already have the measurements? and 2.) The way we were asked was completely unprofessional.
Overall, this place does have some minor setbacks, but they are easily overlooked when looking at the big picture.
