One of the best experiences throughout the entirety of our time spent planning our wedding was working with the team at the Woman’s Club. We worked with Angie Palomo for both the Groom’s Dinner as well as the Ceremony the following day – and she went so far above and beyond the call of duty throughout the 4+ months that we worked together that words can’t do justice to the level of service they deliver. Regardless of the event, the team at the Woman’s club is as exceptional as is the venue itself.

This venue is a secret that needs to be shared! The entire team was outstanding and the entertaining space spectacular not to mention the food which was outstanding. Beautiful space over looking Loring Park. It feels like you are having a party in your home but with enough space to accommodate a lot of people ( we had 176 and never left crowded)

We recently held my wedding ceremony and reception at The Woman's Club of Minneapolis . Tim the event planner was amazing. He was very responsive and helpful. We had to move our wedding date and they were very understanding and flexible. The food and drinks for the cocktail hour and the reception dinner excellent! The service was from all the staff was excellent. We received many compliments from our guests about the high quality of service from the staff. The venue is absolutely beautiful and so comfortable nobody wanted to leave! I would highly recommend The woman's club of Minneapolis to any couple! We are so happy we had our wedding there!

We got a great deal because my Grandma was a member, the rental fees for the space (with tables, linens, etc) were the same as a much more plain space elsewhere without any extras. When our rented espresso bar malfunctioned, they came to the rescue and let our Baristas use the in-house machine. Everyone was polite and calm, and made the whole evening a delight!

    Beautiful space and wonderful food

The good: The Woman's Club is a beautiful venue. It is a reasonable venue, cost-wise. The food is delicious, which is something we were apprehensive about initially, having signed our contract without tasting it. The servers and bartenders where professional and wonderful. The club allows a lot of decor options and are very flexible and accommodating when it comes to this. Our photos turned out incredibly with the architecture and light in the building and the beautiful surrounding neighborhood.
The nitpicky: If you are visually detail oriented, the HVAC vents and EXIT signs in the ballroom might bug you/show up a little oddly in photos, but with some foresight (and maybe some draping, which we did not do), they're easy to plan around.
The opportunities for improvement: We had communication issues throughout the process. This is probably atypical, as they went through multiple staffing changes between when we chose the venue and our wedding, but it caused some additional worry where there didn't need to be. The contract is not very detailed, and doesn't include policies about food or beverage, so it didn't provide a lot of comfort when we weren't sure where we stood. Ultimately Katrina did a really great job of reassuring us and working to get our day running smoothly, but it definitely could have been a better experience with documenting decisions in case of a staff transition.

You'll see I broke down elements of venue for ratings. I am torn because I loved the venue and the guest experience was awesome, but the staff competency not so much. I want to make sure other brides know what they are getting themselves into!

Venue ambiance: 5/5 - If you like historic or lots of character, this place is for you! We used three levels: ceremony in the ballroom, cocktail hour on the rooftop (which overlooks the skyline), and 4th floor for the reception.

Catering: 5/5 - We had SO many people remark on how great the food was! It's all done in-house, and every dish (steak, salmon & roasted tofu w/ veggies) knocked it out of the park!

Event staff: 4/5 - The staff on the day/night of the wedding were great! There were some weird mix-ups (like them 'losing' my cake topper and a bridesmaid having to demand it from the chef), but mostly they were stellar.

Event manager/management: 2/5 - We went through two different event managers (both employed at the venue), neither of which were very organized. The second one we had was much better, but she still dropped the ball on several key things (such as being late on day-of and billing us while on our honeymoon so we didn't see it--and it was wrong!). If you're very organized and Type-A like me, it will be fine, but I def wished I had had someone more competent in my corner.

Guest experience: 5/5 - I've been told we had the best wedding people have ever been to! The day went seamlessly for guests. It truly is a unique and elegant venue, and they did customer service well.

Affordability: 4/5- For how elegant and beautiful the venue is, the rental and fees are reasonable.

If you have planned events before or are very organized this can be a hidden gem of a venue--but if you want a lot of support, or are overwhelmed by details, don't go through this venue unless you want to hire a separate coordinator.
