Best golf course for wedding

Great venue!
The staff at the Wilds did a wonderful job on the big day and leading up to it as well. Shannon and team were very accommodating and really helped me with all the details and made sure I covered things that I hadn't even thought of. Right off the bat it was a very different experience from all the other places I checked out. The night went very smoothly and guests had great things to say about the food and the staff. Highly recommend! -

Our experience with The Wilds was absolutely more than we could have ever imagined. Shannon, their coordinator was so incredible to work with. Her responses were always informative, prompt, and professional. We received SO many compliments on our food, some saying it was the best they have ever had at a wedding! The outdoor ceremony setting was so picturesque. The staff was friendly and on top of keeping the room clean throughout dinner service and after. Highly highly recommend this venue for any ceremony or reception needs! -

Shannon was amazing to work with!!! They made sure everything I wanted was in order! Even when there was a table mix up, they quickly fixed it! We had the most perfect wedding day and are so thankful we choose The Wilds as our reception place! -

WOW!!! Where do I even start! We had both our wedding and reception at The Wilds Oct 14th 2016 and it was all PERFECT!! We toured many different venues but The Wilds by far exceeded our expectations! From the minute we drove into The Wilds we loved the venue. But once we met Shannon- we were SOLD! She is amazing!!! The day of the wedding it was to windy for my decorations outside, but that didn't matter because we were surrounded by beauty! The patio (wedding location) is beautiful. It is surrounded by the greens of the golf coarse, the edge is lined with potted flowers, and the patio has a fire ring which just sets the mood! It was started before the wedding and just added an additional touch, my husband, I and guest loved it! Afterwards the guest raved about the yummy appetizers that were passed around. Yet to be even more pleased with their dinner! Everyone commented on how the food was so yummy, served nice and hot, and some of the "best food ever"!! We ordered the Minnesota Stuffed Chicken and the Bistro Steak with cheesy hash browns, salad, green beans and dinner roles- everything was so good! But all of this is truly made possible because of Shannon and her dedication to her job, it shows that this is a passion for her not just a 9-5 job. She is so good at what she does I cant say enough about her. A few things that stood out that you wont find other places is the quick response time ( which is so nice when planning your big day, you will get a response within hours), if your not sure on something just ask her- she has so many ideas and recommendations that are so helpful and lastly her caring and cheerful personality, she really cares about you and wants this to be the best day ever and she will make sure on her behalf that it is! Shannon is the BEST of the BEST and we were so lucky to work with her!!! So thank you again to the WONDERFUL STAFF at The Wilds!!! You made our special day one that we will never forget and I cannot thank you all enough! -

WOW! What an amazing venue for such an amazing value! We both have such huge families that we were limited to just a few venues in the area of our hometown, and The Wilds was one of our options. We toured the venue with Shannon, the event coordinator, and immediately fell in love with her and the venue. We visited two more places after that, and we compared everything we saw to The Wilds. Shannon is so easy to work with, she is completely dedicated to her job, and she is phenomenal at what she does. We chose The Wilds because of what they had to offer and because we knew we'd be working with Shannon for the majority of the process. They offer an outdoor ceremony option on their back patio that is absolutely GORGEOUS. They also have a bride's room and rooms in the basement for both the males and females to get ready. There are so many perfect photo opportunities all around the building, including opportunities with views of the golf course. The Wilds offered everything we needed and then some, even for a guest list of 300! Their prices are reasonable, they don't charge a "room rental" (aka: throwing money away solely to use the room), and they have so many connections with vendors that it was a no-brainer for us! We love The Wilds! -

We had our ceremony, reception, and dance at The Wilds. The day couldn’t have gone better! From the start Shannon, the food & beverage director, was amazing. She offered great advice and suggestions leading up to the day of the wedding, knew all of the correct questions to ask so nothing would be missed, and she was extremely accommodating. She suggested photographers and florists to use and helped us keep the wedding within budget. Shannon was always very clear and upfront about the pricing so I never had any surprises. The staff at The Wilds was amazing as well. Cheryl helped us put together our beautiful center pieces and Chantel was also extremely helpful in answering questions throughout the planning process. The day of the wedding I heard my mother-in-law had issues with her shoe and a lady from the kitchen noticed and worked diligently to help my mother-in-law fix the issue. Also one of the serving staff noticed that a guest wasn’t eating her meal due to a gluten allergy and the staff immediately brought the guest a gluten free meal. The ceremony was lovely out on the patio overlooking the golf course and the food was delicious. We also were able to get amazing photos outside of The Wilds before the ceremony and gorgeous sunset pictures too. I would highly recommended The Wilds to anyone! -

The Wilds was a perfect venue for us to have our wedding reception and to host our 200 guests. Shannon, the food & beverage director, was beyond amazing to work with from beginning to the end. She gave extraordinary advice on how to flow the events of my wedding day, provided food/drink suggestions and helpful tips all the little details you don't think of until the week of the wedding. Shannon made it so easy to plan our reception, especially with me living out-of-state. She met with my parents multiple times for food tastings and with me every time i was in-town planning details. She was so quick to respond all my emails/phone calls, it was like we had our own wedding planner...she was the BEST!! I would recommend The Wilds to any bride that wants exceptional service, reasonable rates with the glamour of fine dining and beautiful venue. All of our guests raved about what a fabulous venue The Wilds is and how much fun they had. Thank you for making our wedding day picture perfect! -

The Wilds Golf Club was nothing but amazing to work with! After searching for weeks for the perfect venue, I found the Wilds Golf Club. I emailed and called about 30 venues before I found The Wilds Golf Club. I toured the site 14 months before our wedding and was the only site we toured. Once we toured the venue we knew the minute we entered that this was the place we were going to get married at.
From the first meeting Shannon was beyond excellent. She was the exact type of person that I needed to work with on my wedding. I worked with Shannon on every little detail, asking a million questions, getting responses back almost immediately. During our site visit, our two tastings, and just stopping by, the entire staff had great customer service!
The month before the wedding, Shannon and I began working on final details. Shannon is more of a wedding planner, than anything else. She assisted me with ordering chargers, making sure we had enough dessert and made sure I didn’t forget anything. Shannon secured a room for all my table settings, candy table and all my other decorations. This was a huge help, as I was award the bride with the most “Stuff” ever at a wedding. I cannot say enough of her and the service we received. I am a very detailed person, who was not easy to work with. Shannon always was there for and I am forever grateful of her and the service she provided me.
We had 280 guests attend our reception. They were extremely accommodating to those with food allergies. The chef took extra measures to ensure my guests welfare that had allergies. During and after the reception, I could hear people talking about the food. We served chicken stuffed with Minnesota wild rice and bistro steak along with garlic mashed potatoes. All night people complimented on the stellar food choices. The steak was tender and the food was hot. Three weeks later and people are still talking about the food.
I would recommend the Wilds Golf Club to anyone planning a wedding! The -

This was a perfect place to get married. We had our reception and ceremony here and it was wonderful!! Shannon is great to work with and she made sure everything was perfect for our day. They were quick in changing from the ceremony to reception. The food was AMAZING and they were so willing to work with us, meet our needs and just be an extra hand during the day of the wedding and the days leading up to it. I wouldn't get married anywhere else in MN. Wonderful people and place. Also was great because it held our large guest list of around 320 people. -

We couldn't be more pleased with The Wilds, we are so happy that we chose to have our wedding ceremony and reception there. Shannon and Nancy were wonderful to work with, quick to respond, caring, accommodating, and helped ease our minds that everything would be perfect. We were not incredibly impressed with our food tasting so we didn't have high hopes, but the food on our wedding day was wonderful. We've heard from many of our guests how much they enjoyed the food. The entire day went smoothly, not one thing went wrong. We had a buffet dinner and the server for our head table helped make my plate for me to make sure my gown didn't get dirty, and was very attentive to us for the rest of the evening. One of the main reasons we went with The Wilds was for their very reasonable pricing. No hidden fees. Along our planning process I was increasingly happy that we went with them for much more than their prices. The Wilds even had items we could use for our centerpieces free of charge, and all of the set up and tear down was included. Our ceremony was held outside on their patio and we had an incredible view. I had been concerned about the houses located close by, but on the wedding day I didn't even notice their existence. I cannot say enough good things about The Wilds and their staff, I very highly recommend them! -

We could not have been happier with The Wilds. We had our reception held here and it was great. They were very friendly and professional and every request I had they came through with. They took care of all the decorating... I just dropped off the decorations I had and they mixed them with the ones they had (and this included our candy buffet)! The food is AMAZING!! And for the price I honestly believe you can't find anything better. Also they let you on the golf course to take pictures (ours turned out beautiful!)! -

What a wonderful place to have your wedding and/or your reception. There are no hidden costs like cake cutting fees. The food is great and both Nancy and Shannon are so wonderful to work with. They had alot of creative ideas for the room
and did so much to help when times got stressful..like all weddings are. The reception room is large and set up really well. I would highly recommend this venue. It is cost effective and a beautiful place. -

Although ceremonies were allowed at this location I had mine at a nearby church. My reception here was perfect. They have the absolute best value in the area offering nearly all services for free! Your only charge at The Wilds is a food and beverage minimum which is very reasonable. Their menu is extensive and if they don't have what you want they'll try to accommodate by creating your dish for you. I could go on and on about The Wilds - I just loved it! -

Shannon and team are amazing! She has been doing this for years and consistently winning awards. The Wilds is a beautiful venue to begin with. We had our ceremony outside on the patio and our cocktail hour, reception and dance inside the clubhouse/ballroom. We have beautiful outdoor pictures in front of the club and in the fields behind the club. Shannon gave us great deals and threw in some freebies because we had our wedding on a Friday night. We were very pleased...she also helped us select other vendors in our budget. She responded immediately to emails and was available to meet several times before the wedding to go over the timeline, seating charts, what we needed for the ceremony outside, if we were doing a slideshow, timeline of the cake-cutting, speeches, etc. We were allowed to bring four others so six total to the food tasting for free to select our menu choice for the meal. We got alot of compliments on how good the food was at the Wilds from our Wedding guests. We had the bistro steak and chicken amaretto. There is alot of space for guests to move around throughout the night...they lit a fire in the firepit on the patio right off the ballroom so guests were going out to stand and chat around the fire. I highly recommend the Wilds as a wedding venue. -

We got married here in June 2009 & my friends are still talking about how great the food was! Seriously, we booked a Friday night because we had a limited budget & Shannon helped me to save money & come up with a lot of great ideas. LOVED IT! The Italian Buffet was amazing :) -

Could not have asked for a better venue. They were so flexible and willing to work with your needs. They are also willing to negotiate. Had the ceremony there as well on the outdoor patio and it was absolutely gorgeous. Plenty of accommodations for the bride including a locker room to get ready in and a bride's room to go for storage and quick fixes, and there were very few hiccups the day of. In the end, I don't think I would have changed anything. -

We compared a lot of venues, and this one is definitely the best value for the money! We had our ceremony on the patio and it was lovely. We lucked out that it didn't rain on our wedding day. Otherwise, it would have been inside, which isn't as lovely as outside for the ceremony. They were pretty good about responding to my e-mails. Although, sometimes it would take them awhile to get back to me. They did answer all of my questions and concerns. If I did it over again, I would still have my reception here! I would recommend it to other brides. -

We loved having our winter wedding at the Wilds. It is just up the street from our house, so very convenient to both meet with our contact and the weekend of the wedding. Shannon was very accommodating to make sure our day was special and memorable. We would certainly recommend this venue to any future couples. -

We settled on the Wilds for our June 22 wedding and were very pleased. Though we didn't necessarily want to get married on a golf course the views are fantastic and offer great photography options. We had hoped to get married on their beautiful patio but the weather turned out to be much too hot. This wasn't a problem for Shannon and her staff! They turned their banquet room into a lovely spot for our ceremony and then with ease changed it over for our dinner and reception. We were impressed with all of the food choices. Our guests said that the food was good, served in a timely manner, and was an adequate temperature! I am a vegetarian but I don't like onions....the dish was covered in them...but that was no problem for Shannon's efficient team...the brought me a fresh plate without a problem which was wonderful! We took some photographs off site before dinner and were a little late returning...Shannon and her staff had no problem adjusting for us!! Our guests loved the sundae bar and the late night pizza and our bartender was fantastic! We only had one issue which is the reason for our 4 star review...Our rehearsal was a bit chaotic and unorganized as there was no one from the staff who stayed with us to help guide us...it was too hot to go outside so we had to wing it a bit and ended up rehearsing in the main entrance! We made it but it would of been nice to have some more direction from the staff. There was a large golf tournament going so we understood things were hectic, but we felt a bit forgotten. Also, after giving instructions to a staff member at our rehearsal it was our understanding that several items would be placed before our ceremony. This was not done and our florist and wedding coordinator had to scramble to get it done last minute. Other than that our day was lovely! The overall reception was beautiful. The only complaints that I have is that it took days to get a response when I had questions during the planning process. The other complaint is that when I booked in december 2005, the prices for catering went up for my actual wedding, which means we spent more than originally planned. -

Well, I have mixed feelings with the Wilds. At first my experience was horrible! I talked to Shannon the banquet manager and visited the site. I said that I would like to get married there and have our reception on 9/17/11. She said no problem, and that she would reserve the date. Since my dad was paying the down payment she said that whenever he could get it to her in the next week that would be fine. I called to give her the downpayment and she had already booked the date!!! She told me that I would have to change my date and the only one available was 9/10/2011. This would have been no bit deal, but I had already booked and signed the contract for our photographer and he could not move dates. Luckily we booked with Bellagala (who is wonderful by the way) and they happily let us change my photographer at no charge). Anyways, they offered us complimentary champagne and appetizers during our cocktail hour so that was nice.
My whole experience with the Wilds has been a bit odd. I got everything in writing from then on and I kind of had to stay on them to get things done instead of them just doing as I asked. Shannon the main banquet manager is not great to work with - it just doesn't seem like the right job for her. Her assitant Nancy however is GREAT. So it really is a hit and a miss at the same time. -

Great site and value for the money. However, I was quite disappointed with a number of things the day of...first, I emailed my table assignments to the main contact however she seemingly failed to pass it along to her assistant who was the one setting us up for our reception. Anyone who's done table assignments know that they take many, many hours so it was very frustrating when they didn't follow through and they had my mom sitting in the 2nd row which is a stressor I should NOT have had to deal with on my wedding day! Second, they overcharged me for a keg I never even tapped!! Had I not disputed the charge, it would have been an extra $400 for something I didn't even use. There were several other things related to service where the Wilds fell short on their word....it's like they say they'll do anything for you but don't always deliver as promised. I would recommend them to a friend but would warn them of the negatives. -

The wilds golf club is a beautiful venue. However i was very dissappointed in the overall customer services. I had to initiate all communication and constantly email. My maid of honor had to call mulitple times the week of the wedding to find out where our hair stylists should meet us and no one answered. My photographer went to scope things out the week before and talked to someone who said we could use 4 golf carts to get around to different locations for photographs and the day of the employees rudely informed us that we were not going to be able to use them and they didn't care who we talked to they were working today so they were in charge. No one seems to communicate at that place and no one knows whats going on. I would not recommend this venue to anyone. The only thing they have going for them is that it's a beautiful location. Other then that the customer service spoils it all. -
