The best coordinators
Where to start. My now Wife and I have been working with Nicole and Laura for a little over a year to ensure the day of our wedding is amazing. Their perfect blend of professionalism and wanting to actually build a friendship with us is what made them stand apart from the others.
They are simply the best in the business. Their number one priority is that the bride and groom see and feel that every desire is fulfilled on arguably the most important day of anyone’s life.
They went above and beyond to make sure that the day-of schedule was solid, everyone knew what to do, and everything was absolutely perfect.
Our beautiful wedding could not have been what it was without the expertise of Nicole and Laura. Seriously, if you are planning to get married, give your trust to them. A Planner’s Dream From a Photographer’s Perspective
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Nicole and Laura of The W Event Planning on multiple weddings as the photographer and filmmaker, and I truly cannot say enough good things about them.
Most recently, I photographed Connor and Beatriz’s wedding at the LA Arboretum, an intimate, romantic garden celebration with a detailed timeline and multiple locations across the property. Nicole and Laura ran the day so smoothly and thoughtfully that it made photographing the wedding an absolute dream. From organized family portraits to seamless transitions between events, everything stayed on schedule without ever feeling rushed. Because of that, the couple was relaxed and present, which directly translated into beautiful, natural photos.
I also photographed and filmed Brittney and Billy’s wedding at Nature Friends Lodge last year, which had a completely different vibe, rustic, laid back, and outdoorsy. Once again, The W Event Planning created an environment where everything flowed effortlessly. Their attention to timing, lighting considerations, and overall guest experience made a huge difference in how polished and intentional the photos and films turned out.
From a photographer’s perspective, Nicole and Laura are incredibly collaborative and communicative. They respect creative partners, anticipate needs before they arise, and genuinely advocate for their couples. When planners care this much about flow and experience, it shows in the final imagery.

Recommend Them Everytime!
Laura and Nicole were our wedding planners for our 2025 wedding. They were absolutely the best.
When our original wedding location in Altadena burnt down due to the Eaton fires, they were so kind and understanding. They allowed me to regain my focus to find another dream location and kind of explore my options with no pressure. During the entire wedding process they were very helpful and knowledgeable with their foresight.
The day of my wedding went so perfect, I kept getting compliments on how organized it was. Even when my family threw in some surprises (money dances, last minute guests and needing that so important safety pin lol), Laura and Nicole were ready and professional. I loved working with them and especially loved all their recommendations for vendors. My wedding would not have been the garden dream wedding without them. My husband and I will always look back on the fond memories. -

We cannot recommend Laura and Nicole enough!
They went above and beyond coordinating for our wedding. Our venue burned down around 5 months before our wedding, and Laura and Nicole helped support us every step of the way until we eventually found another venue. They not only are so good at their jobs (knowledgable, experienced, detail-oriented) but they are also so warm and easy to get along with.
On the day of the wedding, they were busy making things smooth from morning until after midnight, and were sure to make our day magical. We ended up having the most beautiful wedding, and we could not have pulled it off without their guidance and expertise.

50th anniversary party
Nicole and Laura helped curate one of the most meaningful and memorable events in my family history, my parent’s 50th anniversary party. I was able to give a vision and then through careful planning and thorough communication, a magical ambience came to life and truly had all guests impressed. Nicole and Laura have given our family the gift of celebrating our story and also making my parents feel so proud. I was given a very helpful check list guide which pointed out major needs for the party I had not even thought of. When finding vendors, it was apparent they had strong working relationships with vendors who trust Nicole and Laura and it really helped booking and processing move quickly. Our favorite detail was their referral for booking a live saxophone musician, Robert, who had every guest smiling. Both Nicole and Laura go above and beyond in setting up, problem solving last minute hiccups and truly bringing the party to a state of bliss.
Any events they create and the guests who enjoy them will be so grateful, as I am. -

Do you want a successful event?
Look no further than The W Event Planning company for your events and weddings! We were blown away by Nicole and Laura Martinez planning our wedding reception at the Los Angeles Arboretum. They listened to our thoughts, ideas and vision then made suggestions and fulfilled our dream reception flawlessly! They were such professionals in every way and never pushy. We held several meetings before the event and met them in person at the Arboretum to walk the area and make the plans. They responded immediately to our concerns, problems and fears, calmly helping and answering questions and coordinating with all our vendors from beginning to end. They were very approachable and so friendly which made us feel very comfortable. On the day of the reception, we arrived and were surprised and overwhelmed to see our vision come to life! They were constantly walking around, coordinating and staying on top of everything to make sure the event run perfectly and on time. They repeatedly came up to the bride and groom as well as their parents to ask if we needed anything or had any issues or problems, then immediately acted on them. Great hire for same sex couples!
We are a same sex couple and had concerns about finding safe and inclusive vendors that would help us have a great planning experience and wedding. Our first contact was with Nicole and we felt comfortable from the get go talking and getting ALL of our many questions answered. Nicole and Laura are open, kind and FUN. We hired them as day of Coordinators and they made sure they were up to date on everything throughout the planning process through texts, meetings, phone calls and emails. We were already very organized and had a very detailed vision and instructions for them to follow and they continued to touch base and review updates with us. They went above and beyond when we had trouble finding a ride to our hotel and offered to drive us. The day was easy and beautiful for us and our guests and that is all due to Nicole and Laura. Would absolutely 100% use them again and recommend to others for all events. Could not thank them enough.

Amazing Wedding Coordinating
I hired The W Event planning for day of coordinating, they offered a great vendor list that made my planning so much easier. Nicole and Laura were an absolute pleasure to work with both super professional, communication was great, and extremely knowledgeable and amazing at what they do! Best Coordinators Ever!
Nicole and Laura were an awesome team! Hired them to be my day of coordinators and they went wayyy above and beyond. I am not very detail oriented and they even helped with some of my planning gaps! I went with their recommended florist and videographer as well and both recommendations were perfection.
Our rehearsal was a little disorganized because of me and nicole and Laura helped get it on track! Even in 90 degree weather, they handled it all with grace.
Our wedding day went soo smoothly because of them, and a bonus was they captured my absolute favorite reel from the day on their IG! (They even hand carried my bubble machines to make my grand exit perfect!!!)
Also want to shout them out for grabbing me feminine products when I had a last minute emergency an hour before the ceremony.
I cannot recommend them enough if you want a stress free day!!!! -

I cannot stress how grateful I was to have had Nicole and Laura help with the planning of our weddings! Yes you read that right ! We had two wedding! We got married through the court during COVID and they helped us Plan something small and then helped us plan our big church wedding a year later!! They helped everything go smoothly from planning the wedding and all the details up to the actual wedding day!!! I told them the vision I had and they helped deliver the wedding of my dreams!! The best wedding planning duo we could have ever hoped for!
Working with Nicole and Laura was the best decision we made to help ease the stress that naturally comes with wedding planning. They are the kindest people and were one step ahead of us throughout the whole process. They even provided some last minute accessories that I completely forgot to bring the day of the wedding.
If you're looking for a duo that has your big day in their best interest, these are the women to work with! They worked alongside our vendors seamlessly and worked very nicely with our venue staff. They're very organized, communicative and overall wonderful!

My favorite sisters!
We hired Nicole and Laura for day of coordination for our February 2022 wedding. They offered several meetings beforehand, met us at the venue multiple times, and also held virtual meetings with my husband and I throughout the wedding planning process. On the day of the wedding, they assured that everything went smoothly and were in charge of decor placement. The venue looked absolutely amazing and ended up being more beautiful that I ever envisioned. Throughout the wedding, they checked up on us and made sure we fit everything in our timeline. Absolutely amazing women!
Nicole and Laura worked with us in the summer of 2021. Despite the many losses they must have had due to Covid, they met us where we were at with our budget and went above and beyond for us.
They are very professional and very timely and informative with their communications. They are very easy going and enjoyable to work with.
With all these tremendous qualities, their very best attribute is their infectious joy. Nicole and Laura seem to truly love what they do, and every single interaction with them left us more happy and excited for our day than we already were.
Day of, Nicole and Laura took care of every logistic, working seamlessly with every vendor and wedding team we had. They created an environment of fun and masterfully moved the timeline along, adapting as needed, without making us feel rushed.

The best officiant out there!
Our day wouldn’t have been half as special without Sal. Not only did he do an amazing job, he surpassed every expectation that we had. There is no other person I would have rather had marry my husband and I. Sal took every worry we had away and made this ceremony so fitting for us.
I can’t say enough great things about him, but I can promise you you won’t regret hiring Sal. He is an overall outstanding guy who is one of the nicest and caring people we know. -

The girls (Nicole and Laura) were great. We called them in a panic with only four weeks before my wedding overwhelmed trying to do everything ourselves, and they helped us find and manage vendors, as well plan the layout of the ceremony and reception. Everything came out incredible! And throughout the entire process, they were super sweet, smart, and on top of it..... worth every penny. :) -

The W Event Planning
Nicole became our wedding planner a year and a half before our date. She was there from the beginning, through our long engagement, up to our big day. She helped us get organized by proving us paperwork so we could write everything down as well as recommending an amazing wedding website, Wedding Wire, to stay organized. She even had us set up a shared wedding album so we could each communicate what we were looking for. We were struggling to find a venue in the beginning and Nicole came through by recommending the venue she worked at, La Cañada Country Club. My now husband and I fell in love with the place and the best part was, she got us a great deal!! Everybody was super nice and accommodated our special requests. About a month out from the wedding I had failed to finalize our wedding video and schedule a hair stylist for the big day ((yikes)). Nicole again came through and completed the video HERSELF and got me a great hair stylist. We have told our friends when they decide to tie the knot to get a wedding planner to take away the stress and help with all the big and littlest of details to make their wedding day perfect 🥰 -

Who else but Nicole from the W event could help me pull off my 40th birthday party – turned proposal - turned engagement – turn surprise wedding!? I cannot tell you how many times she ran interference for me! From people who RSVP’d “no” showing up and not having a seat To making sure my future stepson came in perfectly on the Skype call from Spain. No snag was too big for her. Everything was handled with grace and a beautiful smile. I cannot thank her enough for helping me pull off my crazy idea -

Amazing work and so thoughtful!
Nicole was amazing through the whole wedding planning process! As a bride you work really hard to make sure your wedding is a memorable experience for your guests but Nicole made sure my husband and I were taken care of every step of the way. On the day of the wedding our venue experienced a power outage and told me electricity wouldn't be restored until "maybe" an hour before the ceremony. Before I had time to freak out, Nicole was there explaining that she was handling everything, she had backup generators in my bridal suite so we could start getting ready and she didn't give me a chance to breakdown! She was really easy to get a hold of whenever I had questions, little details were taken care of almost before I had a chance to think about them! Long story short if I were to plan another wedding or party with her, I would do it in a heartbeat! -

Unreliable wedding planners
I don’t usually write reviews unless I receive an outstanding service or terrible service. Unfortunately, I will be writing a bad review for the negative experience I received on The W Event Planner.
I decided to hire them because they interviewed well over the phone, charming and will say everything you want to hear just to get hired.
After hiring them, I did everything they asked from signing the contract and making the 1st deposit of $2250 (half of the fee); you would think they would get the ball rolling soon after but that wasn’t the case. I had to follow-up with them a week after making my deposit to schedule our first meeting, which they wanted to make a virtual meeting. I thought that was inappropriate for a 1st meeting, so I suggested an in-person meeting, especially if I paid a substantial amount of money. I just think it’s important to meet face-to-face in the beginning, so we ended up having our 1st meeting at BJ’s in Montebello, at the location they chose (which is the halfway point between South Bay and Monrovia) 3 weeks later after the contract signing and paying my deposit.
Before having our first meeting, the W event sisters scheduled for us to tour Turnip Rose venue in Costa Mesa (the only venue they provided me in OC). I asked them if they would be joining the tour(as per their contract they will attend venue tours with their clients) but they said they’re unable to go because they have another meeting and it should be fine for us to go on our own since they are already familiar with that venue, but per their contract, they are supposed to attend venue tours with their clients regardless I if they have been there or not. On 2 other occasions, they were again unable to attend the venue tours. So basically I was left to do the job that they were hired for - their reasoning was being on vacation and the other time they had a funeral to attend, but they didn’t notify me of this prior to signing the contract. Well, I was in disbelief, 3 times they couldn’t attend any of the venue tours. If I was able to do all that they asked me to do (signed the contract & paid the deposit) why can’t they do their job?!? Again, I was gracious enough to let them slide because I still wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt.
I requested a list of venues in the OC area (which they have said they are very familiar with during their interview and meeting – but that was a BIG fat LIE!). Instead, they sent me a handful(just a handful) of venues closer to their area in Monrovia. The list had venues in Chino and La Canada area. Keep in mind that each time I asked for listings, they would only provide 1-2 venues (again closer to them) at a time and then I had to follow up again and again (this was exhausting). This continued for a while; ignoring my preferred location in OC and kept pushing venues closer to them in LA knowing that those venues are too far for my guests but still referred them anyway. They continued to not listen and tried to push their own agenda. I felt unheard and dismissed by these planners and at this point, I started to regret hiring them because I felt alone and overwhelmed all over again with wedding planning. I never felt more stressed than after hiring these ladies because now, I’m not only dealing with the stress of planning my wedding (contacting venues and other vendors to get quotes); I am also dealing with these planners who did not uphold their end of the contract. I gave them multiple chances hoping they could get it right because of how much time, energy, and money had already been invested, but they continued to fail at every aspect.
Finally, I reached my breaking point, I couldn’t afford to waste any more time and energy as I was falling behind on wedding planning (my wedding is 7-8 mos. away, so urgency was very important in my case). My fiancé wrote an email of grievance and sent it to them. After receiving the email, they finally offered to do their job by assuring me that they will give me quotes of vendors and vendor referrals that I requested a while back before we part ways.
I was still open to working with them, but they opted to take the easy way out, so I had to ask to get a partial reimbursement of my deposit since they didn’t really do anything. I talked to Nicole over the phone to ask for some empathy and to also consider my feelings. Nicole sounded like she was going to give me back some of my deposit, but she said she would have to speak to her sister/partner Laura then she’ll let me know and I respected that. I felt good after that conversation with Nicole believing that she had the heart and decency to return some of my deposit back. Later that night, I got an email from Nicole saying that they won’t be able to reimburse me as they had already used the deposit to pay towards their rent and bills. She couldn’t even call to tell me…she had to write an email to inform me. Nonetheless, I was crushed either way because they just took my hard-earned money just like that without any remorse or considerations for the patience and kindness I’ve shown to them. I learned the hard way to trust your gut and go with your first choice instead of picking someone more affordable especially when it comes to wedding planning.
