I went to Liberty, so about everyone I know has gotten married in Lynchburg. By far, I had the best experience planning and preparing for my wedding of anyone I've talked to who was married at another venue. Angelie is a gem and was incredibly responsive and accommodating. My mom and I made several site visits before and after my now-husband and I made the decision to get married here and we were made to feel so special and cared for at each appointment. The venue is beautiful and well-maintained, the food is AMAZING, and they were so flexible letting us set everything up early. The banquet staff and front desk personnel were amazing as well! About 80% of our guests were coming in from out of town and a lot of them stayed at the Virginian. Each of them had nothing but great things to say about how kind everyone was. I stayed in a suite with my bridesmaids the night before, got ready in it that morning, and it was flipped for our wedding night during the reception. Such an amazing experience. Extraordinary!!!
Our daughters wedding at The Virginian was just perfect!!!! I can not begin to describe how wonderful the experience was! The venu was stunning, the food was delicious!!! Several of the guests commented about how beautiful the space was and that the food was the best!
But even more importantly, literally EVERYONE of the staff rhat we interacted with were just the best!! Everyone was so kind and professional and so willing to help in any way. Angelie was over the top excellent!! She was the most professional and kind event coordinator we could have ever asked for!! We were so grateful for her!!! Elegant venue with top-notch service
The Virginian Hotel was the perfect wedding venue for us - classy, timeless, and a gorgeous backdrop for our reception. From the moment that we dropped off our Welcome bags for our guests with The Virginian staff, I knew that I wouldn’t have to worry about the details of our wedding day coming together. Every member of the staff was incredibly kind and welcoming to us and all of our guests. In selecting our wedding venue, we wanted our guests to have an amazing experience and have top-notch, professional service while they were our guests which The Virginian absolutely delivered on. I did not have to worry about any details during our reception and The Virginian packed up boxes of cocktail hour and reception food for us to fully enjoy in the days after our wedding. While I am from Lynchburg, most of our guests were traveling in from out of town for our wedding. It was also important for us to have a place where all of our guests could stay as well as enjoy the reception. The Virginian made quite an impression on our guests - offering a beautiful venue and great hospitality. We heard so many compliments from our guests about how elegant the hotel was and how much they loved touring around downtown Lynchburg. Thank you, Angelie Keller, Catering Sales Manager of The Virginian, for working with me and with us and for directing a memorable reception and overall wedding weekend -- everything was absolutely perfect! And shout-out to Madison Eades, former Manager, who gave us a tour and got us booked prior to the craziness of last year's pandemic. We absolutely love you guys and appreciate the hard work and kindness of all of the staff who made our wedding weekend at The Virginian incredibly special. The staff is super friendly, professional, and they even shared in our festivities to bring up the energy because they're awesome, authentic people. Angelie is an absolute delight to work with and coordinate special events with. She made the planning and finalization processes so easy, and she was flexible and organized with making sure everything (coordination, finances, details, etc.) was straight so that we would not stress whatsoever on our big day. The Virginian delivers luxury and all the amenities one would need during a getaway stay. We utilized the Rose Ballroom and the Grand Ballroom. My now husband chose this for our reception venue after we got engaged in 2019, and he made such a good choice. Fell in love at first sight with the place - has an Art Deco style, Great Gatsby-like feel with the decor and atmosphere, while at the same time, features classical architecture of columns and also has elements of French country with the florals and walls. After the reception, we came back to our suite to surprise treats, as well as our reception items and our top tier of our cake packed and put away for us. The rooms and suites are spacious and beautiful, which is especially great because before our romantic night by ourselves following the conclusion of the reception, we had a little after party in our suite with several of our friends first. My friends and family also enjoyed The Marigold Cafe in the lobby as well as Skyline rooftop restaurant and bar (Skyline has been our favorite spot long in Lynchburg long before our wedding). Overall, the quality of service and atmosphere cannot be beat, the hotel sits within downtown Lynchburg, and it is within a 10 minute drive to the LU side of Lynchburg and the rest of the metro area - it sits in the middle of everything where there's a ton of restaurants, events, markets, food, fun, etc. We highly recommend The Virginian Hotel and its lovely hardworking people for not just weddings, but also for parties, professional conferences, other special events, and for weekend getaways with friends and loved ones. Absolutely love this venue! They were extremely responsive, attentive to detail, Angelie (the coordinator there) was an angel and literally saved my wedding from falling apart due to my day of coordinator canceling THE NIGHT BEFORE MY WEDDING. Oh, and I cannot forgot the rest of the Virginian team who put on an amazing surprise performance!! They honestly felt like long-lost cousins—we just connected with them so well!! I just can’t thank Angelie enough for everything she did for us. I added her on social media because she truly became a friend after that day. We loved working with Shelley Waldeck and Angelie Keller on our special day. It was great having everything in one place--ceremony, cocktail hour, reception. The bridal/honeymoon suite was just at the top of the stairs to the ballroom, so we didn't need to travel far. The food at both the cocktail hour and reception was impeccable. WE LOVED THE VIRGINIAN SO MUCH!!! They made everything so easy. It was the perfect venue to have our wedding. The price is incredible for a venue this beautiful!! We had our family and friends stay at the hotel which made for the best weekend. I would recommend this venue to anyone!! Angelie Keller & her staff at the Virginian Hotel in Lynchburg VA were on point and focused on helping us from the first day of our wedding planning until the sparklers were extinguished at the end of the reception. I will be forever grateful for their support, guidance, expertise, competence, attention to detail, flexibility, and generosity of spirit. We had the most magical, most beautiful, most fun-filled wedding reception imaginable, with truly outstanding hors d'oeuvres and dinner offerings, and all at a reasonable cost. Even our tailor-made Signature Cocktail was superb! My husband and I, as well as the Bride & Groom, could not be happier with having chosen the Virginian. I am the mother of the bride. My daughter was married at The Virginian last November. The whole team did a wonderful job. WOW WHERE DO I BEGIN?! My husband and I got married at The Virginian on 12.19.21. We are originally from the Northern VA/DC area and a friend of our told us to check out towns outside of DC since we couldn't find what we wanted. We wanted a MODERN ballroom, with a grand staircase, high ceiling (preferably glass)and chandeliers at a reasonable cost.... and then we found the VIRGINIAN. It checked off every. single.thing we wanted!!!
Planning our wedding with the Virginian was absolutely a dream come true. Angelie Keller, the Virginian's Event Coordinator was a blessing. So responsive to all of my emails (and I sent a lot haha), and was always willing to work with my busy schedule. She truly made our dream wedding come true!!
All of my guests keep talking about how amazing the staff was. To Johnathan and Connor, the valet, Michael at the front desk and Rick the bartender, everyone treated us with soooo much respect and happiness for our big day.
If I had to do it again I would choose the Virginian every singe time. The price is very reasonable especially when compared to DC venues, the people are amazing and I absolutely love that it's such a small town where everyone in the wedding business knows each other.
If you are considering the Virginian for your wedding make an appt to tour today!!! The moment I first entered the Virginian I KNEW this is the place I wanted to get married. It was the perfect venue for our modern day fairytale!!!
