  Book this venue ASAP!

  Cannot recommend The Venue in Leawood enough! Julian, Elizabeth, and team made wedding planning so stress-free. The catering, bar, and decor were taken care of in house and the venue itself is beautiful. All of our guests gave the best compliments for the food - it was amazing! The staff and especially Julian made our wedding reception perfect!

  Highly recommend the Venue! The food was excellent and the staff was extremely accomodating. For our first daughter’s wedding, we were extremely pleased with their level of service, attentiveness, and the value they provided us! They helped to make our daughter’s dream day a reality and we are so very grateful!!

  Julian is the best!

  We had our reception at The Venue in Leawood, and it was the best decision we made around planning our wedding. We visited other places in the KC area, but Julian was the only
  one to be upfront on pricing. There is no “gotcha” moments or surprise expenses when you work with Julian. He is honest and does his best to make your dream become reality. Everything from the decor, to the food, to the bar, to the outdoor patio, to the staff, the whole night was amazing. Our guests had nothing but positive comments about the evening, especially about Julian’s food. Don’t waste your time anywhere else. Go straight to The Venue in Leawood!

  Great venue with great food!

  We worked with Julian at the Venue. He was extremely flexible and had great insight for reception planning. We went for a taste testing before hand and the food was incredible! They were also knowledgeable about our other vendors and helpful getting them set up.

  Perfect location in Leawood

  We got married at The Venue end of August and both the family and our guests later told us they had so much fun!
  
  The Venue is beautiful, we had both the ceremony and the reception there in different rooms and that worked out perfectly. The bridal suite is lovely and us girls had an awesome time having a makeup party there.
  
  Julian is a great cook - we had the food stations and the food was fantastic! Elizabeth did a great job of organizing the ceremony together with our officiant and had some good ideas which we hadnt considered. The way she decorated both the ceremony and the reception room was spot on. We had puzzles and coloring stations and she organized drinks for the pre-ceremony room so the guests could mingle before the wedding, and she always came and checked in with us about details we missed and kept us on track for the rest of the evening.
  
  Over all it was a really memorable time and in no small part due to The Venue and its entire staff. Thank you to Julian, Elizabeth and their entire team!

  It was absolutely perfect! There aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful Julian, Elisabeth and their staff were. They were incredibly helpful and informed. The setting was perfect for both our ceremony and the reception. 5 out of 5 for sure.

  Dream come true wedding

  The Venue in Leawood made my dream wedding a reality on 10/13/18! From the beginning when we were first touring venues to the day of the wedding, Julian and Elizabeth were welcoming, accommodating and flexible to our vision, informative, and a pleasure to work with. My husband and I decided on going with the venue for many reasons...1. It had a modern, yet elegant look which is what we were looking for. 2. The space was perfect for both the ceremony and reception since they were separated from each other, indoors so weather wasn’t a concern, and there was a beautiful patio area for cocktail hour. 3. A service staff was included for the day of the wedding and to set up and tear down tables, chairs, and table decor, which was very convenient and the only clean up we had to do was for our own decor we brought in. 4. The food...was absolutely delicious! Full of flavor and variety. 5. Overall convenience! That was definitely intriguing to us that all main vendors usually needed for a wedding were under one roof (caterer, bar tenders, venue, tables, chairs, ceremony space, ceremony decor rental, lighting, table decor, etc.) This was a huge stress relief from the planning process. Julian and Elizabeth were wonderful to communicate with, always with a fast response time, they offered support and solutions, were always open to meeting with us if needed, the pricing for everything was reasonable, they went over every detail with us prior to our wedding on different occassions to make sure it was perfect and what we still wanted, and they were both present on the day of making sure everything ran smoothly. Overall, My husband and I, along with our family and friends were very happy with how everything looked and turned out. The day of our wedding, the venue looked beautiful, perfect, and it was more than I had imagined. We received several compliments regarding the food and event space. We highly recommend The Venue in Leawood for any couple that wants a modern/elegant wedding and ease in their planning process! Prior to our wedding Julian was excellent, detailed, and professional in going over what our wishes were. So much so that we had little questions and no issues the day of! The price was phenomenal. We had a plated dinner with open bar, ceremony and reception all at The Venue and could still go on a honeymoon! Julian worked diligently to find good values for us and advised us on the best ways to spend our money. Guests are still commenting on how amazing the food and the entire evening was.   The Venue in Leawood exceeded my expectations for a venue! Julian and his staff are a blast to work with. We booked our wedding at the end of October, 8 months in prior to our wedding. The first time we met with Julian he was the sweetest guy ever. Him and Elizabeth asked us every question imaginable, including color of linens, lights, table numbers, and so much more. From there we met with Julian about 4 or 5 more times before the wedding. Any time I wanted to go to the venue to envision more details regarding it, he was so nice to let me come in and walk around. Our florist wanted to visit the venue to look around and get a better idea for decorations and Julian let us come with a days notice. When my family, fiancé and I went in for our food tasting, Julian set up a three course meal for us and served us like we were at a restaurant. Totally unnecessary but extremely nice. We ended up being there for about 3 hours because we got to talking about life and becoming friends. From there we exchanged about a billion emails and he always emailed me within an hour or so of the email being sent. About two months before the wedding Julian informed us that he himself could not be at the wedding but that Andrea would take charge of it. Many brides would be worried or scared about this change but because of the relationship I had formed with Julian, Elizabeth and Andrea, I had no worries regarding the change. Leading up to our wedding, Julian and his staff met with us a month before the wedding to finalize numbers and food and then met with us again the week of the wedding for us to see the setup for the day of and answer any last minute questions or make last minute changes. This eased so much stress from the weekend because all questions were answered prior to the rehearsal. The rehearsal and wedding were everything I could have imagined and more thanks to the people at the Venue. I HIGHLY recommend The Venue for ceremonies, receptions and other events!

  The Venue In Leawood is the perfect event space! They were great to work with and very helpful to make sure our wedding went smoothly. It was an ideal location for us since Leawood doesn't have many event spaces available.

  Excellent! Highest quality of service!

  The need for a wedding planner was not necessary due to Elizabeth. She was outstanding in every aspect, keeping everything on track and up-to-date with any decisions that needed to be made. Her patience and kindness meant the world to us, and would not hesitate to host our next wedding Reception there

  We selected The Venue in Leawood as our reception site after visiting many different places. It is very difficult to find an available reception location that fits your style, budget, and location needs all while accommodating 220 guests, but as soon as we saw the Venue, we knew it would be perfect for our wedding!
  
  The Venue offered new space with technology, an outdoor fireplace area, free parking, no security issues and no stairs or elevator concerns. All the other locations (particularly downtown) required extra payments for parking &/or security. We had about 220 guests and we had plenty of room for 22 tables, a photo booth and a big dance floor. The bar was a perfect size and our guests kept the bartenders hopping – they did a great job. The Venue also has absolutely beautiful lighting and the sound was perfect for toasts, announcements, and the music. They have an on-site coordinator that will be able to help you with the layout of the floor plan as well as advise on the flow of the evening’s events. The table cloths and napkins were all provided and included in the cost of the Venue, we went with Ivory and they looked great! However, if you want a particular caterer, they will work with you to see about them getting added to the list. We ended up going with Shining Star and they were outstanding! The Venue has a full kitchen in the back and our caterer was able to use that to prep all of the food for the buffet.

  We selected The Venue in Leawood as our reception site after visiting many different places. It is very difficult to find an available reception location that fits your style, budget, and location needs all while accommodating 220 guests, but as soon as we saw the Venue, we knew it would be perfect for our wedding!
  
  The Venue offered new space with technology, an outdoor fireplace area, free parking, no security issues and no stairs or elevator concerns. All the other locations (particularly downtown) required extra payments for parking &/or security. We had about 220 guests and we had plenty of room for 22 tables, a photo booth and a big dance floor. The bar was a perfect size and our guests kept the bartenders hopping – they did a great job. The Venue also has absolutely beautiful lighting and the sound was perfect for toasts, announcements, and the music. They have an on-site coordinator that will be able to help you with the layout of the floor plan as well as advise on the flow of the evening’s events. The table cloths and napkins were all provided and included in the cost of the Venue, we went with Ivory and they looked great!   The Venue is a beautiful space for a wedding! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our night and we had so many compliments on how amazing the facility was! There is a spacious outdoor patio and fireplace, beautiful indoor lighting, and fabulous bar. We had about 250 guests and there was plenty of room for 25 tables, DJ, photobooth, and a huge dance floor! I would definitely recommend this space!

  Wow, your review is a sad surprise to us despite our hard work to make ur an amazing event. We granted you many discounts in an effort to help you afford ur wedding in our venue. As you agreed/signed, ur contract required a min. expenditure and a min. cash bar consumption. With ur smaller headcount, we added several items free of charge. We answered every request u made including change the time of ur event and the headcount even the day before of ur wedding. As per ur cash bar, u agreed to pay the diff. btwn min. consumption ($1,000) and guest's paid ($484). We gave a bill to your G-father, as per ur email instructions, with a detailed invoice. Your G-father thanked us for our work and paid the invoice including a generous unsolicited tip for our bartender.
  In regard to r meeting in r bridal suite, I congrat u and told u how beautiful u looked. I spke about my concerns with your increased headcount the day before, we may run short on lasagna and told u about an alternative. FYI, we plated and served ur brother's meal despite it was not ur understanding as he had a severe condition needed ur Mother’s attention.
  Unfortunately, ur review has many falsehoods or exaggerations that did not take place. As per the young lady at the buffet, I asked her to please use an unused/clean plate for her second service of pasta. It is a health safety requirement that clean plates r used when serving food in a buffet.
  Either way we r thankful for the numerous guests in your party that complimented our venue, service & food. Moreover, we appreciate ur stepfather’s compliments and thanks for our effort to making ur wedding an amazing event despite the chaos and disorganization caused by ur bridal party at ur arrival.
  We sincerely apologize for ur unhappiness with us and we r saddened by ur need /anger to publish the same review in 4 different social media forums disregarding our effort and reputation. May God continues to Bless you & your marriage.

  Poor treatment

  My Nephew got married there in Oct 2023. His wedding day turned out to be a rainy one and it took all hands on deck. The grooms grandmother (74 years old) had gotten her hair done earlier in the day and then headed over to The Venue to deliver the gifts to the guests she had made. She carried in one bunch but it was raining so much she asked the owner (the only person she could find) for help. The Owner of The Venue told her that helping her in the rain was not in her job and she had too much to do. At the end wedding I went to tell the owner how disappointed I was hear the owner of any venue would treat a 73 year old women that way, let alone the grandmother of the groom. She laughed at me so loud it caused a big scene. Then she walked off, only to reappear with three of her employees to point me out and show me the middle finger not once but twice. I would never recommend The Venue to anyone for any type of event. They are highly inappropriate and disrespectful.

However, this review will be more about the lack of customer service, professionalism and the attitude that the wedding planner, the wedding party, and I (the ride) received from Julian, the owner of this property. When I initially agreed to this location, I did not meet with Julian; I met with another man; who is no longer with the Venue. From the very beginning, Julian was rude and condescending over the phone, via email and in person. Julian made it his mission to tell me how important reviews were for him and that any negative reviews that he received were from customers who did not have “real expectations” and that it was the other vendors’ fault and not his…first red flag. Julian would often talk down to the wedding planner, her team, and me but would treat my husband differently. I am not sure if he respects women as much as he does men but I felt disrespected on many occasions. My husband told me anytime that you have to speak with Julian, let me know and I will do it.
  
  During my wedding rehearsal, we were walking through how I wanted the venue set up and Julian, yet again, was rude. While explaining how I wanted to tables arranged, he would cut me off multiple times with his opinion. I began to get frustrated so my sister, the Matron of Honor had to step in on my behalf. The wedding planner also had to say something to Julian about his demeanor. After the meeting, the wedding planner and her team apologized to me for his attitude. The wedding planner promised that I would not have to speak to Julian on the day of the wedding because of the way he was speaking with me.
  
  The day of the wedding, this was the last straw. During my big reveal to my bridesmaids and my Father, I noticed there were two people sitting at our tables reserved for the parents of the Bride. I asked that they leave because this was a very private and personal moment.

  Thanks for selecting our beautiful venue for your wedding ceremony & reception. Over the last day, we have reviewed over 60 email exchanges that you had with our manager since 12/20/17 thru 5/4/18. We found all the exchanges to be respectful, informative & cheerful. In none of the messages you expressed your discomfort or unhappiness with our manager.
  We provided u & ur wedding coordinator our floorplan for your use. 2 days prior to ur event, we received ur approved floorplan from ur wedding coordinator for the set-up of ur room. As a customary practice, the day of the rehearsal ceremony, a walk-thru of the room is done ensure your satisfaction with the venue set-up. Unfortunately, you were not happy with the approved floorplan & we proceeded to make the appropriate changes to meet your expectations.
  As a customary practice in the wedding industry, the day of your event & prior to your event, we had mtgs with potential customers in ur venue to showcase ur venue when all set. When it was brought to ur attention your unhappiness with a couple meeting with our manager, the meeting was ended, & an apology given to your sister. Few minutes later, ur manager met u in ur bridal suite complementing ur beauty and apologizing for the small incident.
  While we r disappointed that we didnt meet ur expectations, we are gratified by the beautiful pictures of ur wedding & guests having a grand time!! We are also thankful for the many compliments that we received by many of ur guests & husband.
  We are saddened that u chose a solemn day as Memorial Day to share ur anger with ur manager despite all the efforts made to respond to all ur requests. Since you choose to use social media to discredit people’s and business’s reputation by publishing your review in at least 4 social media, we will in turn use this same response in the same social media.
  We wish you all the happiness that you shall have in your marriage.
