The mansion is a beautiful, architectural masterpiece, and is delightful for photography. I especially love the chandelier and stained glass windows over the staircase, the piano room with its small harp and massive chase lounge, the ballroom that looks like it could have been one onboard the Titanic - full of beautiful windows for natural lighting and elegance.

Prior to my husband and my wedding, on October 7, 2025, the beautiful Van Dusen Mansion usually supported wedding receptions after 5:00pm. However, the staff were flexible with the rental hours. I wanted rooms for wedding preparations and photos (prior to our 10:00am church wedding), and a noon celebration following, so the Van Dusen staff allowed us to have a 6:00am-6:00pm mansion rental.

Unfortunately, the parking lot wasn’t available until 5:00pm, if I remember correctly, so my guests couldn’t use it, which added more inconvenience to the road work near the mansion at that time. However, since it was the first time they had a noon wedding reception, maybe they could iron out the kinks in the future.

Overall, I recommend the Van Dusen Mansion for wedding preparations, brunch receptions, and gathering space for wonderful, wedding-day memories.

We had the absolute pleasure of hosting our wedding at The Van Dusen Mansion, and it was truly a dream come true. From the moment we toured the venue, we knew it was the perfect place for us. The mansion is absolutely stunning, and the team’s professionalism made the planning process smooth and enjoyable. After placing our deposit, we received a clear and detailed planning timeline, which the team stuck to from beginning to end. Monica, the venue director, was incredibly responsive and genuinely excited to work with us. We were planning a hybrid cultural wedding, which can sometimes be daunting for vendors, but Monica embraced it wholeheartedly and made us feel supported every step of the way. We also appreciated the flexibility of being able to tour the venue multiple times without any pushback. By the time our wedding day arrived, it truly felt like we were inviting guests into our own home.
One thing to note: the venue requires that the get-ready rooms be cleaned out before the ceremony begins. This was a bit inconvenient as things got hectic, and we recommend couples assign someone specifically to manage that, as we did lose track of a few personal items after the event. The only other downside is that you're required to use their exclusive catering partner, Mintahoe (we've left a separate review for them).
Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our experience. The Van Dusen Mansion is a stunning venue with a fantastic team, and we’re so grateful to have celebrated our special day there!

Our wedding at the Van Dusen was absolutely spectacular! From our initial tour, to our planning meetings, and the day of, everyone we worked with was the epitome of professional, responsive, and knowledgable. Monica answered our questions periodically as we went along through the planning process and was incredibly thorough. I was planning my wedding remotely from NYC, and this would not have been possible without her excellent guidance. I felt very at ease when at the last planning meeting with Monica, she knew exactly how we wanted things and our specifications for various parts of the evening without any prompting. Our day of coordinator was Shelly and she was also incredible. I was initially nervous having a day of coordinator that I had not yet met, but I can’t emphasize what an amazing job she did! She was so on top of everything on the day of and seamlessly coordinated the vendors, wedding party, and calmly addressed any hiccups during the day without causing alarm. I did not hire a planner for our wedding, and I truly did not need one with the level of support and coordination that the Van Dusen provided. On the day of our wedding, my vision was executed perfectly. I had family members assigned to do various set up tasks, and they would go to do them and they were already completed by the Van Dusen staff! The attention to detail blew me away. I would highly recommend getting married at the Van Dusen, especially if you are looking for an all in one venue that will allow you to forego the wedding planner and spend that money on something else more fun!

The Van Dusen was the perfect venue for our wedding. We loved that we could enjoy all the different spaces throughout the day - the getting ready rooms upstairs, the basement, the top-floor kitchen. And our guests loved the progressive style event, enjoying the ballroom, courtyard, mansion ground floor (with live piano!), and carriage house throughout the evening as the story of the day unfolded.

We planned our wedding remotely and appreciated that the Van Dusen stands on its own. Unlike many venues, we barely even had to think about additional decorations. The natural elegance of the venue was enough to set the mood and the tone.

Bellagala was a professional organization to work with and Monica, the venue lead, was an excellent communicator before, during, and after. All staff we worked with were helpful, positive, and pleasant.

Guests especially loved the Carriage House for the live band (5 members, Bluewater Kings Band). The dance floor felt perfectly packed all the time because of its size for our 120-person wedding. The open second floor gave people enough distance while still making people feel part of the action.

Booking our venue was our first major step in wedding planning. We couldn't have been happier with our choice of the Van Dusen!

To say the Van Dusen was the perfect venue for our wedding is an understatement. From the moment we toured, we knew it was the perfect spot to host our special day. They answered all our questions, and the amenities and attention to detail truly set the Van Dusen apart as a top-tier wedding venue.
They also helped throughout the entire day—needed a steamer? They had it. Help setting up decorations? No problem. Were they able to execute our dream wedding? Absolutely. When you have family and guests still talking about how great it was weeks afterward, you know you made the right choice. Any stress I had was immediately eased after connecting with them.
Monica, in particular, went above and beyond to ensure our day was a success. As an out-of-town bride, I was worried about how the logistics would play out. Monica and the rest of the team worked with me every step of the way to make sure we had a perfect wedding. Beyond the venue being absolutely stunning (you feel like a princess!), the service and amenities were above and beyond.

Getting married at The Van Dusen was magical. They help you through the whole planning process, provide advice on vendors, timeline. Not to mention the day of coordinator helps make your day perfect. The getting ready space is fantastic. We could not have had a better day!

I wish I could tell every bride I know to get married at the Van Dusen Mansion! From the phenomenal building/atmosphere, to the amazing planning help from Monica and her team, to the perfect staff support the whole day of the wedding, I would get married here a million times over! My guests continue to tell me it was the most beautiful venue they had ever attended a wedding at! I planned this wedding from out of state and truly did not have to lift a finger, I told Monica my vision and it came to life the day of with very little stress! 1000000/10 stars!

We recently celebrated our wedding at Van Dusen Mansion and everything went so smoothly. The team at VDM included Shelly who was our day of coordinator at the VDM and Monica Sanger who was the main person in charge of coordinating and ensuring all the planning process is smooth and stress-free. The venue is absolutely beautiful. We got married on June 22, 2024. The leaves and flowers have bloomed. The string lights that lit up at night made the ambiance so romantic. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the picturesque setting. My now husband and I are working from New York so we had a lot of back and forth emails with Monica and she was always responsive. We are so grateful to VDM team for making our wedding day everything we dreamed of and more!

We had a beautiful wedding on a Sunday afternoon here. The staff helped us to make this a very special day. From the beautiful courtyard to the lovely ballroom each room has a great memory for us now. We would recommend checking it out. There is not a single detail that they leave out on making your wedding day everything you want it to be.

We just recently got married at The Van Dusen Mansion and had the absolute best wedding in the world! The venue is stunning with so much character and historic charm that it made us truly feel like it was a one in a million kind of venue. Our wedding was seamless with how it was laid out where the entire day is at one location moving from the mansion, ballroom, courtyard and carriage house. The best part was the team who was there for you every step of the way. When we inquired, we worked with Jenna Zamjahn in the beginning of planning stages, and we connected with her instantly where she felt like an old, trusted friend. Jenna is super knowledgeable, helpful, and just an absolute joy to work with that we knew that this was the place for our big day. Once we decided on the venue, we worked with the wedding coordinator, Monica Sanger and because of her, it was a seamless process. Monica is the best at what she does. She goes above and beyond and made us feel like her top priority, super attentive and always there for us if we needed help. Her strong work ethic, eye-to-detail, compassionate heart are what make her stand out. We are forever grateful for having to work with Jenna and Monica and the whole VDM team for our special day. If it wasn’t for them, none of it was possible. This venue and the people are truly one of a kind and anyone would be lucky to have their wedding here!

VDM was excellent and Monica was such a great contact for the year-plus we were planning along with the day-of. This venue stunned our ~115 guests (and our dog) from beginning to end.

Luckily, the weather cooperated for our 10/21 wedding so we had the ceremony in the courtyard, allowing for a slow but procession through the grounds as the night progressed.

Anything over our guest count would’ve been tight for the ceremony space AND dining hall, so keep that in mind. We chose to add two hours in the morning for $200/hour, very much worth it and the perfect amount of time for a 10-person wedding party (plus parents) to get ready and take pictures before a 4PM ceremony. Otherwise your standard event time is 12PM-12AM.

I’m still in shock from how gorgeous every space looked. The carriage house was recently renovated and new flooring was cute and thankfully not slippery with spilled drinks towards the end of the night.

Of note: clarify everything you can think of with your venue contact ahead of time. There are no stupid questions. We saved a lot of trouble by asking a lot of questions and Monica was so responsive and helpful, even if the answer was no.

Also: they might recommend a Bellagala DJ but our DJ (DJ Hampsterdance) had no trouble with their sound system. There is a ~$500 fee for outside DJ because they also staff an in-house AV technician to guide in case your DJ is unfamiliar with the venue or needing help.

Additionally: They exclusively partner with Mintahoe for catering. If you want a different catering vendor or are dead-set on bringing your own booze to “get ready with” and hate the idea of paying corkage for that (or paying per-person fees for outside cake and/or late-night snack), this might not be the venue for you. We had a fine experience with Mintahoe.

The Van Dusen Mansion is a one of a kind venue with rich history and a fairytale-like atmosphere. We held our wedding reception here is August of 2023 and have only good things to say about the venue itself and the staff! Monica was our main event coordinator, she did an amazing job and our event went on without a hitch. She was so friendly and fun to work with throughout the planning process, she made sure we felt informed, prepare and confident in the decisions made for the event and we completely trusted her to carry those plans out! The staff is very professional and friendly all around, Samantha also helped us in the planning process and figuring out pricing and availability for booking our event, another exceptional lady! Mintahoe catering is currently the only option but there is no loss in that, they do an amazing job and have SO many options and flexibility in choices to find something that fits your budget! We worked with Morgan at Mintahoe and were very impressed with her attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile to make our day and experience special!

The Van Dusen Mansion is a truly beautiful venue, with very professional and well-organized staff. They were very responsive, quickly answering all of our questions during the planning process, and helping us make sure all necessary logistics were figured out well before the day of the wedding. It is also great that the venue includes beautiful decor pieces that we could use during our reception, and with the unique nature of the mansion itself, we did not have to worry much at all about adding to the space because it already feels like a romantic and welcoming wedding setting.

The venue is breathtaking and the whole team of Van Dusen is amazing. Monica is very professional, attentive and detail-oriented, which takes so much stress off of your shoulders knowing that your wedding is in the best hands. They all made the day run smoothly, always making sure that all of us had everything we needed and that our wedding day came true just as we had always dreamed. Our guests loved the mansion as much as we do, and we received numerous compliments on how perfect and beautiful the wedding was. This definitely wouldn’t have been possible without all the work behind the scenes! I could not recommend the Van Dusen Mansion enough! Amazing venue! Gorgeous inside and out. Everyone was so friendly from the first phone call to clean up at the end of the night. They helped us create the wedding we wanted. Wouldn't have wanted to get married anywhere else. We got married in January of 2022.

I don't think I'll ever stop talking about how wonderful my wedding day at the Van Dusen was. Planning with Monica was so fun and easy. Planning with Bellagala (DJ, Floral, Photo booth) was so easy and stress free, and planning and communication with Mintahoe catering was just the best. All the staff were so detail oriented and stress-free the day of, exactly what you need as a bride. My guests won't stop talking about how good the food was and how the venue you makes you feel like you're in a dream or a movie because it is so beautiful. I would give 10 stars if possible!!

The Van Dusen staff made wedding planning easy. The venue is beautiful and so much fun for guests but the real love for us was the care the staff showed us from the tour through the wedding day and beyond. They worked with us on centerpieces and timelines before the wedding day. Bonnie, the day of coordinator was amazing and made sure all vendors knew the plan and executed it. She worked with us to make sure we made a good decision about where to hold our ceremony (rain was in the forecast). They did a BEAUTIFUL job setting everything up and making it wonderful inside the ballroom. Bonnie was absolutely amazing and so helpful with everything throughout the day. The greeters could have done a much better job telling people where to put cards and presents (we had people handing us presents directly and cards as the night went on which was a bit cumbersome). But overall it was a wonderful day to remember and I am really thankful for Bonnie and her team who made me feel stress free on the wedding day and really made sure all the guests had a great time!

The only downside to the Van Dusen is the requirement of MinTahoe catering. They were okay but their pricing was more than the quality of their work. That being said, I still think we make the best choice with the Van Dusen.

Our wedding at the Van Dusen Mansion could not have been better!! The flowers were beautiful, the cake was delicious, the photographer and videographer were fun and fantastic, Bonnie the coordinator is AMAZING, and the mansion itself is breathtaking. It was a dream come true!!

The Van Dusen was an excellent fit for our wedding, elegant while also being cozy, with plenty of dramatic opportunities for photographs and majestic interior spaces that felt comfortable to occupy. The staff were all incredibly professional and friendly, and they were very willing to accommodate any concerns we had in order to assure that our day went smoothly. The Mintahoe catering that is attached to their venue is professional and provides a variety of flexible and delicious options, and are very willing to adjust things based on your needs. We would highly recommend them for future events.

The Van Dusen provided us with everything we could have wanted for our special day. From start to finish the entire staff was professional, courteous and prompt with all of our needs. Getting married in the middle of a pandemic wasn't ideal, but they made it so we were still able to have our day and it was still as beautiful as ever.

Our experience with The Van Dusen was amazing, I plan on recommending them to everyone! We were so happy that they were offering a petite wedding package which ultimately fit everything we were looking for when wedding planning. We were also blown away by all that was included for the cost. Even after my initial call with Samantha, I knew that it would stay at the top of my list when venue searching. From the time we booked our date through when we said our goodbyes on our wedding day, every single person that was involved was amazing and so easy and great to work with. Oh my goodness - absolutely wonderful! Staff was there as soon as we arrived to take our guest book, place cards, etc. and set everything up for us. This is definitely the best wedding spot in Minneapolis. The Van Dusen Mansion is a stunning place to have a wedding, and their process is unlike any other venue. Being able to progress through the grounds was a huge hit with our guests, and everything was immaculate. I’m so excited to get our pictures back! Christy was a lifesaver and walked us through everything we needed to know all day and really kept things running smoothly when we ran into some obstacles.

The bridal suite was beautiful and spacious enough for my four bridesmaids, the moms, and all of our supplies. The groom’s lounge was a great place for the guys to relax before the venue and for the guests to explore during cocktail hour. The carriage house was the perfect dance floor size and having two levels, one for dancing and one for drinking/lounging/watching, was a great setup. Outside of the rooms that guests saw, there were even more rooms perfectly set up for gorgeous pictures of us and our bridal party.

Van Dusen really has it all: it’s a beautiful venue and its staff is very good at what they do. Booking the Van Dusen Mansion will save you a ton of stress and will leave your guests in awe.

Before raving about the venue itself (gorgeous!), I want to make sure I say that Christy was a dream to work with. She was professional, kind, enthusiastic, and ready to make everything work somehow. She made planning from far out-of-state a breeze. The venue speaks for itself from the photos above. It is a beautiful historic mansion - exactly what we were looking for. The guests loved being able to explore its many rooms - as did I and my bridesmaids in the early morning as we were getting ready and enjoying the bridal suite - memories I will always cherish. We ended up moving the ceremony indoors due to rain (good wedding luck?!), but the day-of sudden change went off without a hitch and all of the vendors were aligned and on point. The guests and my family also enjoyed how the carriage house for the dance had two floors, one for socializing and one for grooving and moving. Those who wanted to dance could, and those who wanted to socialize had space to do so but could watch the dancing antics from above. So fun! Thank you, Van Dusen team, for all of your help in making our day wonderful!

The Van Dusen was the first place we looked and we fell in love. The venue is gorgeous, the staff was so kind from the very beginning and we knew right away it would be our choice. Mary Jo and the Mintahoe team were excellent. The tasting was informative and a great way to talk to other couples and share ideas. The details meeting with Mary Jo was extremely helpful and we felt very ready to go after that meeting. The whole team was great and answered all our questions right away. The day of could not have gone any smoother because of this fantastic team. Responses to emails were very quick and planning was a breeze with this venue and staff. Mary Jo and Christy were amazing and guiding us through the process and making everything easy. All was fantastic. We have no complaints! Everyone was great, the staff was friendly and helpful to all guests and the bride and groom. The day ran so smooth with no hiccups. We honestly could not think of anything that went wrong or we wish we had. Our experience was great and we thank the whole Van Dusen and Bellagala staff for that! Thank you thank you thank you! We are SO happy we chose this venue!

There are no words to describe how perfect the mansion was. Everything from the suites to get ready in to the progression of the evening to different areas was perfect and better than we could have expected. We stepped foot in the mansion for the first time and knew right away that we wanted to get married there - it was exactly what we were looking for and blew the other venues we had looked at out of the water. During the planning process, all emails were responded to promptly and they were very patient with my requests for tours for family and our photographer. Christy was super helpful on the day of! She helped everyone get their things set up and helped make the day of worry free. Perfect, perfect, perfect.

Talk about a PERFECT wedding venue! I fell in love with The Van Dusen the moment I walked in to the gorgeous historic mansion, then almost cried when I entered the stunning courtyard where our ceremony would take place. The amazing staff went above and beyond from the planning process, ensuring every detail was taken addressed. Then, throughout our entire wedding day, they stunned us as they took care of EVERYTHING from set-up, taking care of our guests, ensuring we were comfortable all day long, to clean-up and making sure everyone and everything was accounted for at the end of the night. The pricing was great for the amazing venue and experience we had, and I was so relaxed and happy throughout the ENTIRE experience. I cannot say enough great things about The Van Dusen Mansion and it's fantastic staff. They make a great team with Mintahoe Catering to create a perfect wedding experience.

Best venue ever! From the minute we walked into the venue, we knew it would be our wedding venue. We are completely taken by the beauty of the mansion and the charm and expertise of Jennifer Anderson. If you are considering this venue, just pick it already! It is truly a magical place with superb staff.

We absolutely loved our wedding at the Van Dusen Mansion! We received so many compliments on the amazing & unique venue, the impeccable service and the excellent food. I was beyond impressed with the staff's level of detail and how they truly made every moment magical. Being able to move throughout the mansion as the ceremony and wedding progressed kept guests so engaged and it was as if you were in 4 different reception venues; both indoors and out!

Additionally, we were very excited to have an outdoor ceremony and having been in several weddings prior where we were used to the "we will decide at 10am that morning if you can be outdoors" routine. This was NOT the case with the Van Dusen. They were so thoughtful in watching the weather (on 5 different radars) and decided at 3pm that they would take the chance to go outside per my wishes, and it worked out wonderfully. It goes to show their flexibility, organization and how much they care about making your day perfect.

Lastly, there were so many items that the Van Dusen had on site that we were allowed to use which made the additional money well worth it and they managed our crazy family with ease! I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a gorgeous outdoor or indoor location!

The Van Dusen staff and venue are the best in the "biz!" I just had my wedding there and from the moment I inquired about the venue as a potential wedding location to the day I picked up my last centerpiece from the wedding, they gave me nothing by top notch service. Their staff had a solution for everything and no matter what was asked, they always answered with a "yes." Jennifer and her staff, as well as Elizabeth and the Mintahoe staff, took care of every detail that even I, a "type A, planner and organizer", didn't even think about! Every one of our guests complimented the ease and flow of the entire night. My bridesmaids were awestruck by the fact that it was SUCH a stress free day and we could just enjoy the day because of all of the details the Van Dusen staff took off of our plates. The food from Mintahoe was just as good as the original tasting we had which knocked our socks off! Guests were so impressed and said that they had never had a better "wedding dinner." The bartenders were amazing- always accommodating and outgoing while keeping up with demand. There was never a line! The Van Dusen made my wedding an absolute fairytale and I would recommend this venue to anyone who wants to truly remember and enjoy their big day to the fullest!

I am the mother of the bride. I cannot say enough about Jennifer and her staff. They went above and beyond. Like Jennifer says "We have no emergencies here. We are challenged to find solutions for everything." And they do. They have every single thing you need and if they don't have it they will get it. You do not have to leave the venue until your day is over. She believes the wedding day is for the bride and groom and their families and the staff truly works to make it the most special day. PS Mintahoe Catering is also amazing with food so good your guest will say they have never had a better wedding meal!

I could not have asked for a better reception venue for our wedding! The team at the Can Dusen and Mintahoe Catering took wonderful care of us! They were so organized and accommodated us so well with last minute changes to hair and make-up and a day of itinerary change!

Van Dusen Mansion was an amazing venue for a wedding. It was classy and fun, because of the various parts of the property. We had a beautiful garden ceremony in the courtyard, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in the mansion, reception in the event center, and afterparty in the "man cave" in the mansion basement. In addition, we were able to get ready at the mansion in their suite of rooms upstairs, and because each even was in a different area, guests felt engaged and we didn't run into any problems with setup.

The Van Dusen Mansion was an unbelievable venue. Each location from the ceremony, the social hour, the reception, and the dance was beautifully decorated and presented. Our guests were blown away by the space's beauty and ease of accommodation. Jennifer and Matt Anderson made the entire event run like clockwork. Any problem that arose, from needing baby food to re pinning flowers, they handled immediately and with amazing grace under pressure. The entire experience at the mansion was beyond anything we could have expected. Our day was perfect from beginning to end because of their amazing staff and their hard work. I will recommend this venue 100 times over.

Originally we chose the venue for its gorgeous aesthetics and convenient location, but when the time came, Jennifer, Matt, and the catering coordinator for the site Elizabeth, all went absolutely above and beyond in every single way to make the day perfect and our own. It was a pleasure working with each and every one of the staff members. They were all extremely helpful, courteous, organized, and prompt all throughout the planning process never ceasing to meet each one of our requests. They took care of us in every way and made the day go smoother than we could have imagined. The food was phenomenal and the space was an experience our guests said was unforgettable. If we could do the day over again we would not change a single thing. We could not thank the Van Dusen staff enough for helping to make our day so special.

The Van Dusen Mansion is an amazing venue to have a wedding at or just the reception. Jennifer and Matt are an amazing duo and they made my friends wedding go off without a single issue. They took care of everything, getting vendors in and out, keeping guests happy, getting coffee, whatever you needed they were there. Food from Mintaho was awesome as well. They decorate to perfection, I'm confident that if you didn't have any budget for decorations this place would still be beautiful for dinner. They have their own security staff which is awesome, when we were wrapping up the security guard walked a friend to her car and gave her his jacket because hers was in the house. Nicest staff ever! All in all an amazing day for my friends thanks to the Jennifer, Matt, and staff.

The Van Dusen Mansion is the most beautiful and unique wedding venue I have seen. If you are still looking for a venue, call up the Van Dusen. My husband and I had looked into about 10 wedding venues before our photographer suggested the Van Dusen Mansion. After meeting with Jennifer and touring it, we cancelled all our other tours!

Besides being absolutely beautiful and having delicious food from Mintahoe, the best thing about the Van Dusen Mansion is the service. Our wedding day was so easy and stress-free. They set everything up for us, coordinated all the transitions, and we got to spend the night at the mansion.

Jennifer and Matt are also so nice that every other vendor who works with them loves them. This means that they can recommend you a reliable vendor for any service (they even set us up with our travel agent) and often these vendors give you huge discounts because they are so happy to be working at the Van Dusen.

Some other reasons that the Van Dusen Mansion is a great wedding venue: They have an amazing basement, that has a pool table and an X-box, for the men to get ready in. Jennifer let me ring the gong to signal the end of cocktail hour. The two floors of the carriage house allows guests who do not want to dance to actually have conversations without shouting at each other, while the music downstairs is loud enough for everyone to dance. There is a hot tub in the jewel suite.

I would HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend choosing the Van Dusen Mansion for your wedding venue!!! Our wedding was perfect!! We had to worry about nothing! They are so helpful and so caring! I LOVE the Van Dusen service team, especially Matt and Jennifer!!! They are highly qualified to do weddings and treat you like you were their only customer! The venue itself has EVERYTHING! The guys get ready in the man cave while the girls get pampered in an amazing room! Everything is in one place! So perfect!!

A lot of things went wrong at the last minute with my wedding, but I would never ever have wanted to have my wedding elsewhere. Jennifer and the whole staff at the Van Dusen did everything that they possibly could to make things easier on me and make the day wonderful. Not only is it a beautiful building, but the staff takes such great care of you.

Where do I begin? The Van Dusen is more than what I ever could have dreamed my wedding day to be. I can't begin to count how many compliments we received on that day, follow up phone calls and emails, and in person comments about what a tremendous venue the Van Dusen was and the comment was always, "We've never been to a venue like this. It's amazing!" From getting ready in their bridal suite and professional makeup room all day, my groom and his guys got ready in the man cave, to having lunch brought to us (my favorite being the PB&J's I requested cut into little hearts)and that was just before the ceremony. We fully utilized every area the mansion had to offer for different components of our event. When I wasn't busy in the two-story carriage house cutting a rug, I went outside and saw my guests chatting outside in the courtyard, under these glowing lights (and heaters - perfect!) chatting by our dessert bar I almost began to cry for about the 50th time that day. I almost forgot we were in Minneapolis, and not somewhere in Italy or something. I am really sad this day is over and it went so fast. I will miss talking with Jennifer and Matt whenever I needed something. They really spoiled my new husband and I with so many details its hard to even remember them all. I can't speak highly enough of the venue and any Bride & Groom would be lucky to get married here.

The venue itself is stunning, seamlessly incorporating the beauty of the historic mansion that brought our vision of an elegant wedding day to life, with the natural immersion of the courtyard to deliver an unforgettable ceremony, with a perfect ballroom for dinner and carriage house for the party.

My daughter's wedding couldn't have been more spectacular or special. Bonnie and her team made everything easy and stress-free so that we could fully enjoy the day. Venue is wonderful and the care couldn't have been better!

My husband and I got married at the Van Dusen in September. It was a perfect day, the Venue was amazing & made sure everything was set up exactly how I wanted it.
Elizabeth, Jen & Alyssa were very good at responding to my 1000 + emails about every detail imaginable. The only downfall I had was during the day, I didn't see much of anyone that worked there - us girls were pretty thirsty & didn't get water until about 4. We were there at 9 AM. Would have gotten it sooner if we could have found a worker. I also asked for Pink lemonade & champaign in the morning while getting ready which was Ok'd but instead we had orange juice Mimosas which would have been ok - but I'm not a mimosa fan - was pretty excited for the pink lemonade. Other than that, the day was great & the venue was fabulous!!

We had our daughters wedding this weekend and still are reveling in the whole experience!!! Jennifer and Elizabeth and truly their ENTIRE staff was absolutely WONDERFUL!!! We couldn't find anything to complain about!!! We were so thankful for and appreciated how everything was soooooo SMOOTH and truly stress free!!! The security guy was wonderful as well!!!! (so sorry I don't remember his name??? He was GREAT!!!!). Thank you for EVERYTHING!!! A beautiful venue a BEAUTIFUL day!!!

The Van Dusen Mansion was the perfect place for my daughter's wedding. She loved it, the guests loved it. It was just beautiful from the outdoor courtyard, to the mansion for social hour to the ballroom for dinner to the carriage house for the dance. Top notch from beginning to end, from our first planning meeting to the end of the wedding, the whole staff was wonderful.

I had an appointment Thursday and confirmed it through email and they weren't expecting us apparently after a 2 1/2 hour drive

I wish we could review Van Dusen five stars because we absolutely loved working with their event coordinators and the space was everything we could've dreamed! However, they have an exclusive catering contract with Mintahoe Catering, and stood idly by when we were being taken advantage of by their sales team. Prices, policies, and fee structures were completely changed with no supporting language in the contract we signed or any of the supporting documents. At one point things got so tense that Van Dusen's COO had to get involved, and she agreed with us that several of the fees we were being charged were strange and unsubstantiated in our contracting language. She joined a Zoom meeting between us and the catering sales team, but ultimately left it entirely to us to negotiate our way into a fair catering plan. We had to get the city of Minneapolis involved to find resolution by confirming Mintahoe was misrepresenting permitting requirements. When we finally did, Van Dusen's COO told us to sign a non-disclosure agreement to keep us from discussing our treatment which really added insult to injury. Luckily we knew we had no legal obligation to sign. We cannot recommend Van Dusen as a venue because they do not protect clients from predatory practices of vendors they require for services.
