We used the Whoopie Wagon for our wedding and we had an amazing experience! Mary and Philip were so easy to work with and helped us pick out the right desserts for our 180 person wedding. And I still have people texting me about how delicious the desserts were! We did whoopie pies, cannolis and macaroons and it was SUCH a hit. There were no whoopies left behind. I highly recommend the Whoopie Wagon & Topsfield Bakeshop!

Wonderful Wedding Cake Experience
We used the Topsfield Bakeshop for our July 2025 wedding at the Evermore. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such prompt, clear communication with a business! Philip was so wonderful to plan with. He answered my (many!) questions, gave great suggestions, and helped create my exact vision. I had every faith that the cake would be tasty, but when I took a bite for a photo - I had to excuse myself and eat the whole slice. Our cake was DELICIOUS. So many guests approached us to compliment how tasty both the red velvet and lemon raspberry torte were. The design of the cake looked exactly like the picture I sent Philip - only prettier. We can’t wait to dig into our anniversary tier next year! Thank you Topsfield Bakeshop!

Mini whoopie pies and cake for our wedding
We worked with Topsfield Bakeshop for our wedding in April 2025! My husband has always been a big whoopie pie fan (and we have a history ordering from Topsfield Bakeshop) so it was a no brainer to us to order their mini whoopie pies as the main dessert for our wedding.
We first got connected with Topsfield Bakeshop in July 2024 and were able to do a take-home cake tasting later that month. Talk about tough decisions! The cake flavors were heavenly, so much so that we didn’t end up deciding what cake flavor to go with (lemon raspberry torte) until weeks before the wedding.
The mini whoopie pies were the main attraction. We got a variety of flavors, but the red velvet and s’mores were our favorites. Topsfield Bakeshop also offers gluten-free and dairy-free options, which we took advantage of! As I mentioned, the mini whoopies pies were the primary dessert option, but the lemon raspberry torte was heavenly and so refreshing!
We have to recognize Philip, who helped us with all of the details and planning. Philip was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was extremely thorough, incredibly professional, and always so responsive. We mostly communicated via email, so it was such a treat to finally meet him! Topsfield Bakeshop will definitely be seeing more of us!

Our overall experience with Phillip and his amazing team was nothing short of fabulous. The Topsfield Bake Shop made sure our wedding was elegant and tasty! Gluten Free Wedding
The best gluten free wedding EVER! We got gluten free mini whoopie pies (chocolate and pumpkin) as well as the gluten free chocolate chunk cookies. Everyone kept commenting that they were the best gluten free desserts they have ever had and I agree! Working with Philip was so easy and he was so accommodating and kind. They delivered the desserts, provided the towers/displays, and decorated the whole setup. Everything was absolutely amazing and they helped make my day perfect!!

Daughter's Wedding
Topsfield bake shop catered desserts for my daughter's wedding on May 3rd, 2025. My daughter wanted whoppie pies and cookies and because she has Celiac Disease we wanted everything gluten free. Well Topsfield bake shop did just that. Their gluten free chocolate and pumpkin mini whoppie pies were AMAZING!!! Not one guest could tell that they were gluten free because they tasted just like their regular ones. We also had gluten free chocolate chunk cookies that were also fabulous! If any bride or groom are looking for something other than a tradition cake please check them out. They did all the delivery and set up at the venue and we didn't have to worry about a thing. It was all AMAZING!

An Amazing Experience with Topsfield Bakery
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Topsfield Bakery for our wedding cake! From the moment we started planning, the team was incredibly professional, helpful, and reliable, and the final product was absolutely perfect.
One of the highlights of our experience was the cake tasting to-go box. It was such a fun experience! We got to try a variety of flavors, and we loved every single one. It was a memorable afternoon spent with family and our best man as we sampled the different cakes, and we couldn’t stop talking about how delicious each flavor was. Ultimately, we chose the Viennese Torte and carrot cake flavors, and they were both fantastic. The cakes were moist, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, and the frosting was to die for!
The delivery was incredibly reliable as well. We never had to worry about missing a deadline or any mistakes. The Topsfield Bakery team took care of everything and made sure the cake was delivered right on time, exactly as promised, which gave us one less thing to think about on the big day.
As for the cake itself, it was a huge hit with our guests! So many people complimented us on how delicious it was, and it definitely lived up to the high expectations we had. The Viennese Torte was rich and decadent, while the carrot cake was flavorful and perfectly spiced. The icing was especially great. The cake was not only delicious but beautifully decorated, and it made a stunning centerpiece at our wedding.
A special thank you to Philip Frye, the special occasion coordinator, who made the entire process smooth and easy. Philip was extremely helpful, attentive, and responsive, and he ensured that everything went off without a hitch. We really appreciated his professionalism and attention to detail throughout the entire process.
We highly recommend Topsfield Bakery for anyone looking for not only amazing cakes but also excellent service and a memorable experience. Thank you again for making our wedding day even sweeter!

Amazing Wedding Desserts!
Topsfield bakeshop was phenomenal! Mary was super helpful when I met with her to plan desserts for my wedding. She gave helpful tips and suggestions and made me feel so relaxed and excited for my big day!
Everyone raved about the desserts and there wasn’t a single one left at the end of the night! We ordered Whoopie pies, cupcakes, cookies and cannolis and they were so good, I had to stop at the shop a week after my wedding to get some more.
I would 100% recommend Topsfield bakeshop for any of your dessert needs! I will definitely be ordering from them again!

Delicious cake, very professional and good coordination
We're so happy with our delightful wedding cake! We did a 3-tier cake with strawberry and caramel chocolate flavors. Everyone loved it, especially the strawberry! They coordinated really well with the venue on the day, and even decorated our cake for us on the spot. We booked them fairly last-minute and they were still very accommodating.

We worked with Topsfield Bakeshop for our wedding cake and couldn't have been happier with our decision. I have a gluten allergy and they were very accommodating in the GF cake options, and in making our entire wedding cake GF. it was delicious with many guests being unaware that it was GF. They also created a beautiful anniversary tier for us to have, though we did decide to share it with my dad who was unable to attend d/t health reasons rather than freeze it. We will 100% be back, even before our anniversary for another cake!

Best Desserts!
When planning our wedding, my now husband and I knew we did not want a classic wedding cake. We are frequent customers of the Topsfield Bake Shop and always loved their amazing whoopie pies. We worked with Fiona from the Bake Shop to put together an amazing spread of handheld desserts for our guests that included mini whoopie pies, cannolis, eclairs, and much more! Our guests were so in love with the sweets and especially loved being able to take their treats with them to the dance floor. Excellent caterer for our reception!!
We first found the Topsfield Bakeshop through a recommendation for their whoopie pies, however we were immediately drawn in by the solid selection of cake flavors for our wedding cake. They let us do a tasting of MANY (if not all) of their flavors, and while it was a tough choice, we settled on the carrot cake. The cake was delicious, and the presentation was amazing. Additionally, we had their whoopie pies (aka The Whoopie Wagon) and cupcakes served at the reception – we LOVED the Whannoli, and they had vegan options as well, which some of our guests definitely appreciated. Overall, we had an awesome experience with The Topsfield Bakeshop / Whoopie Wagon and would highly recommend for any event where you need dessert catered.

The best whoopie pies you will ever have!
The whoopie wagon (topsfield bake shop!) bakes the most incredible whoopie pies. We ordered a large amount of mini flavored whoopie pies and a large whoopie to cut for our cake. There were no whoopie pies left at the end of the night because everyone went back so many times! We weren’t even able to get pictures of the mini whoopie pies because they went so quick!

Top notch treats and service!
My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Mary and the rest of the Topsfield Bakeshop staff for our wedding cake and dessert table. Every time we met with Mary and her staff they made us feel special and welcome in their shop. They helped us make our dream cake a reality, it was both beautiful and DELICIOUS!! We had the Whoopie Pie Wagon do our favors and boy did they not disappoint. We handled the stickers, and they handled everything else. Our guests were walking about with multiple whoopie pies and are still raving about how good they were. They were the perfect ending to our night, and we couldn't have picked a better favor for our guests! They delivered the whoopie pies in plenty of time for set up, and they were in beautiful white boxes with burgundy ribbon (our colors) with stickers that they recommended.

Our choice for any kind of celebration for always!
we were introduced to them thru our wedding coordinator Tammi at the Hellenic Center. we had some unusual requests as we were having a Gatsby themed wedding in 2014 and I planned out a lot of related details. Mary, her husband and teams were par excellence in every aspect, we purchased catering items from them for our wedding eve family gathering, and we had an amazing dessert table with many of their pastries and dessert choices. And our cake , was just what I wanted, they listened and provided just what in envisioned. We go to them for everything sweet or celebrations , and every time we are so glad that we chose them for our personal bakers venue, there is absolutely None Better. Contact them, they will work with you to meet and exceed your interests and your guests will still be talking about the quality of their items 5 years later, just as ours often do!

The best choice for your wedding cake
The team at Topsfield Bakeshop are incredible. My now husband and I are HUGE dessert people, so it was very important for us to have a delicious wedding cake. From day one, the team was so accommodating and helpful. We were able to come to the bakeshop for a tasting during the one weekend we would be in MA over the summer (we planned our wedding for a distance), and we were blown away. We ended up choosing two different cakes--the salted caramel chocolate and lemon raspberry torte--and both were incredible. We ended up eating most of the top tier after we got home from the wedding (instead of saving it) because it was that delicious.
The design of the cakes were also gorgeous and exactly what I envisioned. They worked with my florist to get greenery and florals for each cake and I didn't have to do a single thing to coordinate it.
In addition to the cakes, we also had four flavors of the mini whoopie pies (a staple in any New England home) and they were delicious. I'm so sad we're not local to MA anymore because we want to eat them every single day.
The service was wonderful. Robyn worked closely to make sure that everything was perfect and we are so grateful for all of her help.
Overall, Topsfield Bakeshop was incredible. From the price to the design to the service to the flavor itself, we were thrilled. We're so thankful for their whole team!

The Topsfield Bakeshop was amazing! We looked at 3-4 bakeshops before them and thought all the cake was about the same quality. When we tried Topsfield we were blown away! The cake itself is so so much better than what you get elsewhere. They have a ton of delicious options, I think we sampled something like 14-18 flavors at our tasting, and we were each able to choose flavors that we loved (Lemon Raspberry and Strawberry Tall Cake) and they tiered the cake so it was split evenly between the two flavor options. They also provide an extra tier separate from the cake on the day to bring home and save for your one year anniversary so you don't have to ask the venue not to serve the top of the cake (We ate ours immediately - frozen cake does not sound appetizing. But they sell cupcakes in the same flavors so we will pick up some of those for our anniversary). The service was also great. I sent in what I though were 3-4 pictures of the same style of cake, but I got a call from Robin the week before the wedding to clarify the small conflicting details of between the cakes; she wanted to make sure that everything was perfect and just as we wanted it! Finally, from a price point of view they were also the easiest to work with. They were able to say upfront how much it would be per guest, including delivery setup and tax, and we signed the contract that day. Other bakeries wouldn't give a firm number or took up to two weeks to email me their proposals.
The Topsfield Bakeshop was the best choice for our wedding cake. The cake was amazing, they were lovely to work with and very professional and everything was so easy. I would recommend them unconditionally!

All the girls at Topsfield Bake shop were great to work with. I had a 200 person wedding at Renaissance Golf club September 9th. I went to a tasting, had an additional meeting and many email communications to make sure all the details were perfect. We had a 3 tier cake, birthday cake, cupcakes and whoopie pies. All were so delicious and perfectly decorated. Almost every drop went and all of my guests were raving about how good they were.

We had no idea what we were doing when we went in for a cake tasting. I had 3 places lined up for that week. When we tasted Topsfield Bakeshop's cake we knew we wanted them. I loved working with Mary, I am sure I bothered her more than any other bride ever, yet she was always sweet, patient and kind. She reassured me time and time again. When I got to my wedding and saw our cake, I cried! It was beautiful beyond my dreams. Our cake was absolutely perfect! Mary worked with me to make my vision come to life while staying in my budget. I am just in love with how my cake came out. We were an out of town couple and couldn't make any of the tasting days, so she made us three quite large sample cakes in flavors we were interested in for only $10 each, super affordable! We ended up picking two- the strawberry shortcake and the caramel spice cake. Both were delicious. They even made and packaged up a separate cake topper in advance and made sure it got into the hands of our family so we didn't have to worry about boxing up a piece of our cake at the end of the night.

Topsfield Bakeshop was the best choice we could have made for our cake. Not only was it incredibly beautiful but my guests raved about it even weeks after the wedding. They provided my wedding favors as well and the french macaroons were an absolute hit! So thankful for this bakeshop and I cannot recommend it enough!!

Our cake was sooooo delicious!!! We chose two flavors: chocolate and walnut. Although, I didn't get to eat the walnut flavor the day of the wedding (obviously too busy), we took home the leftover chocolate cake and I could not stop inhaling it. The quality and flavor of the cake was well worth every penny. I cannot wait to eat our anniversary tier. Also, everything else in their bakeshop is amazing. The whoopie pies are delicious.

AMAZING!!!! Seriously AMAZING!!!! We gave them our idea for the cake and it wasn't what we were expecting... it was EVEN BETTER!!!! They handled themselves with an extreme air of professionalism but they were excited as well and I was always confident in them and never once worried. In fact we added on Mini Whoopee Pies for favors we were so impressed with them.

We didn't work directly with Topsfield Bakeshop as our venue works with them for wedding cakes so we can't speak to their service. Nevertheless, we wanted to leave a review for our excellent cake. We had limited options for style since we used them as part of our venue's package but that didn't matter to us at all. In fact, we were looking for something totally simple. What we do want to emphasize is that the cake was literally the best wedding cake we've ever tasted!!! The cake was moist, light and absolutely delicious. We had the cannoli flavor which I highly recommend! We couldn't stop eating our leftover cake for days.

Not only did Topsfield Bakeshop do our wedding cake, but we had whoopie pies, cupcakes & hand pies at our wedding. Their cakes are delicious, moist and fresh. Everything was beautifully presented and delivered to our venue. Their tasting event was also amazing, we were offered 12 different cakes to try and EVERY ONE was delicious. Super easy to work with and super accommodating.

Topsfield Bakeshop provided our wedding cake for our special day. They did such an amazing job on it and it came out exactly how we envisioned. We chose lemon raspberry (our absolute favorite) and cannoli as our cake flavors, and had our cake topped with fresh flowers from our florist. They were both so delicious; the cake was so light, flavorful, moist, and fresh. Guests could not stop going up for seconds on the cake, and are still raving about it. It is going to be extremely tough to not eat our top anniversary layer of our cake for a whole year! I got my cake at the Topsfield bakery via the Topsfield commons and it was amazing!!! The cake was so delicious and beautiful! I got many compliments on how delicious the cake was. I was very pleased and will definitely use this bakery for more events in the future!!!

My husband and I were so lucky to work with Topsfield Bakeshop! Everyone was easy to work with, professional, and incredibly helpful. Our wedding cake was so beautiful (and, of course delicious!). In addition to our wedding cake, my husband and I really wanted a pie station. Topsfield Bakeshop made the most beautiful and tasty pies that worked wonderfully with our fall-themed wedding. They really listened to our ideas and delivered desserts and favors that were even more beautiful than I could have imagined.

I have known Mary since I was young and have always known I would ask her to make my wedding cake. My husband and I wanted a small cake and we wanted it to capture our rustic, elegant fall theme. I asked Mary for a "naked" cake and she knew exactly what I was imagining. I completely trusted her to create the perfect fall wedding cake and she went above and beyond my expectations. Working with the Topsfield Bakeshop was an absolute pleasure! They not only baked our wedding cake and cupcakes, which were unbelievably delicious, but we also contracted them for the Whoopie Wagon as a way to hand out our whoopie pie favors to guests. The Topsfield Bakeshop was the only cake place we did a tasting with and after eating some of the most amazing cake and flavors I've ever tasted I knew they were the bakeshop for us! We did a chocolate salted caramel and tropical carrot cake and our guests loved both flavors! They were raving about it! And the cake was absolutely gorgeous! I brought in a picture of what I wanted and they delivered on exactly that! They even called me after hours to talk about some options with the cake which I thought was really above and beyond. I highly recommend the Topsfield Bakeshop!

Our wedding cake from the Topsfield Bakeshop was delicious! What sold us was that they never freeze their cakes so they are fresh for the wedding day. They worked with us to customize the design that we wanted and used our own personal cake topper. My only disappointment was I was too busy to eat more than a bite at our reception. The good news is they boxed up our cake top so it was ready to freeze until our anniversary. I can't wait to eat it!!!

We had such a wonderful experience working with Topsfield Bakeshop for our wedding in July 2015. We mostly worked with Mary who listened carefully to what we wanted... which was a dessert table with cupcakes, cannoli, whoopie pies, strawberries, and also a wedding cake. Our cake was beautiful and exactly what I had imagined. The bakeshop worked with me to use a special cake stand I wanted too. Thank you for everything Mary and the everyone at Topsfield Bakeshop! The Topsfield Bakeshop, yummmm!! They have the best cakes around!! The biggest problem working with them is choosing which flavors to have in your wedding cake, because they're all so delicious! The cake tasting was definitely my husbands favorite of wedding planning... It was so fun to try all the different flavors! The staff is informative and answered all our questions. We ended up choosing tropical carrot and raspberry lemon as our two flavors. The guests raved about the cake! Gluten free and vegan cupcakes for our guests with allergies, each were packaged individually and labeled for the guests. The guests with those dietary restrictions were very grateful and also impressed with how good they were!! We will definitely be ordering from The Topsfield Bakeshop again!!

I love cake, so I've tried a lot. Our cake was hands-down the BEST wedding cake I've ever had, thanks to the Topsfield Bakeshop! Mary was a delight to work with, and the bakery even coordinated with our florist so that we could use flowers as a cake topper. We ended up going with two flavors - the chocolate ganache and their lemon cake with raspberry filling - and they were both so good that I ate the entire slice at our tasting. Can't wait to eat our anniversary layer! Highly recommend!

I hired Topsfield Bakeshop to create mini pastries for my wedding dessert table and a chocolate tart for my husband and I to "cut". We received so many rave reviews from wedding guests about how delicious the various pasties were. Overall the bakeshop offered a wide array of options and allowed us to customize as we wished which was great to have that flexibility and the value was just unbeatable for the great quality. My husband and I were married in October 2013 and we got our cake and whoppie pies for favors from Topsfield Bakeshop. They were amazing. Most of my guests commented on how good the cannoli cake was. As soon as I tasted the cake when my husband and I were cutting it I knew that it was as good as I remembered. The cake was one of the most important things to me for the wedding and I really didn't care how it looked. Though, our cake was beautiful and they offered some decorating ideas that I hadn't seen other places. This cake definitely lived up to my dream cake and really tasted a whole lot better than any of the others we tried. In fact my husband and I plan to order a cake to eat for our anniversary after we have our frozen piece. I liked how fresh everything was at Topsfield and how it didn't taste like something out of a box. Knowing we were going to spend $500 to $600 on a cake I wanted it to taste that good and Topsfield's cakes definitely do.

Topsfield Bakeshop was highly recommended by our venue, Cruiseport Gloucester. When we went for our cake tasting, we were the only ones and we tried so many cake flavors. We loved the Margarita flavor and decided to have our whole 3-tiered cake with that flavor. Our cake was just as beautiful on the outside as it was delicious on the inside. Our guests raved about the cake and those who never really eat cake, loved it. We had a couple slices left over and those were a great little snack after our wedding and still a couple days later, was so fresh. I would recommend Topsfield Bakeshop to anyone!!

The cake was so good people are still talking about it three weeks later. We asked for a four tier cake with two different flavors, the decorating was beautiful, exactly what I had in mind. For the price we got our four tiers they also provided an extra tier, just incase it was needed and an anniversary tier. I can tell you that all our birthday cakes will be from Topsfield Bakeshop from now on (they are worth the 20 - 30 minute ride).

My husband and I picked the Topsfield Bakeshop to make our wedding cake for our September 7, 2013 wedding at the Commons 1854. The first time we met Mary and Chris, we knew we made the right choice. They are the most friendly, caring and fun couple who happen to make the most AMAZING wedding cakes. Every time we went into the bakeshop, they would greet us as if we were friends and always sent us out with a delicious treat!! When we went to one of their tastings, we fell in LOVE with pretty much every piece of cake we tried. We decided on a red velvet and cannoli cake for our wedding day. The cake was GORGEOUS and all our guests raved about how delicious it was!! We are definitely lifelong customers!! There isn’t a better bakery around!

It was wonderful to work with Mary at the Topsfield bakeshop. She was very easy to work with and made the wedding cake of my dreams! It was perfect and so delicious, I highly recommend the cannoli cake and chocolate torte. YUM!

The absolute best!!! This shop doesn't just make cakes -- they make works of art. Our cake looked incredible and tasted just as good. Mary met with me several times and using several pictures of different cakes that I liked, came up with a unique design. She analyzed what I liked about each photo and really spent time with me. I really appreciated that because I know this shop is really busy. It was so hard picking flavors for each tier because EVERY flavor they have tastes amazing. Don't even look anywhere else. They're the best!

I am so glad I found this bakeshop. After testing cakes at 3 other locations, I knew this was the best one...it surpassed the other shops in terms of quality and taste. Now, I was not into getting a fancy cake design for my wedding...like the ones that are shaped like gift boxes or have seashells on them made of sugar. I wanted a delicious, well-made cake with a simple scroll design, fresh flowers on top. Topsfield Bakeshop gave me exactly what I wanted. My guests loved the cake so much, some had 2 slices. I picked 2 favors: cannoli, and strawberry tall. Both were incredible. And there was a lot left over so it is in my freezer now! They are kind enough to give you a separate top tier that you can take home and freeze for your 1st anniversary.
I also ordered about 300 cookies for my wedding to go along with the cake. They were assorted cookies, and all were of course delicious.
Hope I get to use this vendor again at some point for an event! Great, great choice!!

Topsfield Bakeshop made my wedding cake this past March. The consultation with the owner Mary was great and the cake on the day of the wedding was perfect! She did a wonderful job at incorporating all of my husbands and I's ideas. Not only was cake beautifully decorated, it tasted delicious as well! My husband and I will definitely use them for future events.

We came to The Topsfield Bakeshop without an appointment on probably their busiest time of the year - while The Topsfield Fair was in town! They made a few minutes to meet with us which we greatly appreciated. We decided to have a pastry table vs. a cake for my wedding. They were very accommodating and we were also able to purchase take home boxes for my guests - they are a one stop shop! At our wedding...lets just say this table pastry was not ignored ;) Their pastries are out of this world!!!!! A must have!

The cake was the only element of the wedding that only I knew about, when my husband and I first walked into the ballroom I was blown away by how beautiful the cake looked. I had a hard time coming up with how exactly I wanted the cake to look. Mary took everything I described to her and created a cake that was simple, elegant and of course delicious! The Topsfield Bake Shop was fantastic to work with. Mary made a 4 layer cake( 2 layers of Carrot and 2 layers of Red Velvet) with cream cheese frosting. The cake looked amazing and was delicious. We had 162 guests and 150 pieces were served. There was not a single piece left over so I assume my guests liked it as much as we did. The wedding cake magically appeared at the reception and looked stunning on the silver base that Mary provided free of charge. She also baked a separate anniversary tier that the bride and groom will eat on their 1 year anniversary. We also ordered a Whoopie Pie Tower that was brought out for late night snacking. The guests loved it. It was so easy to work with The Topsfield Bake Shop and you can be confident in Mary's ability to deliver a great product at a great value. Thank you!

I cannot say enough good things about Mary & her staff at the Topsfield Bakeshop. From the tasting to the final product they were nothing but friendly and helpful! She not only made my wedding cake, but she created a beautiful macaroon cookie tower and cake balls for my shower, as well as the whoopie pies for the rehearsal dinner. Our cake came with our wedding package but I have to say it was so yummy! We went with the tiramisu flavored cake which was really something unexpected in a wedding cake. It tasted just like traditional tiramisu and our guests loved it! We only needed one meeting with Mary and she teased out what we wanted the cake to look like from our very vague explanation. The cake was beautiful and tasted great. What more can you ask for?!

We were about to go with another bakery for our wedding cake and then we happened to meet Mary, co-owner of Topsfield Bakeshop, at a tasting event at our venue and, holy crap, it was the best cake we'd ever tasted! We were sold immediately. Everything we tried was great and we ended up choosing a cake with layers of pumpkin cake and chocolate cake, with buttercream frosting. Oh my goodness, the pumpkin -- it's amazing. We have a layer of that in the freezer right now, to eat on our 1-year anniversary...if we can hold off that long! ;) The cake itself was not only delicious but also GORGEOUS. I had emailed Mary a picture of a cake I liked and she completely nailed it. It had the perfect, smooth look of fondant but it was the much more delicious buttercream frosting. I can't say enough good things about this bakery -- give Mary and Chris a call ASAP!

And even better than looking good... it tasted good! It was fresh and tasted like it was just taken out of the oven and brought to our venue. Every single cupcake was gone by the end of the night!

Our wedding cake was not only stunning, but the most delicious cake I've ever had. Mary made us a cake with tiramisu and cannoli layers. My husband also has a gluten allergy so our top layer was gluten free cannoli, which was equally delicious as the rest. Mary is not only a very talented baker, but very professional and a pleasure to work with!

I met with Mary the first time in her bakeshop. She showed me pictures of her past work and I was very impressed with her work. She is a true artist. My wedding theme was Tiffany's and so she did a Tiffany box cake. Not only was the cake beautiful but it was also so tasty. My guests can't stop talking about it! I will definatley go back and get more cakes from her! I also added chocolate covered strawberries and those too were a huge hit! I am very pleased with The Topsfield Bakeshop and will recommend to others!

Mary made a delicious and beautiful cake for our wedding! She has lots of fun flavors to choose from and can also work with you if there is something else you want that's not on her list. We were planning our wedding from 500 miles away- she was very accomodating to set up meetings with us for weekends that we were going to be home. She works a lot with our wedding venue so I was very confident that she would get there on time with a perfect cake- and she did!

Mary baked a delicious red velvet cake for my January 1st wedding. It was delicious!! She was so professional and extremely flexible when I asked her if my Nana could decorate her cake. She came to The Commons early the morning of my wedding with extra butter cream frosting so my grandmother could have plenty of time to add sugar flowers and snowflakes to my cake. It looked beautiful and was the best red velvet cake I've EVER tasted! Thanks Mary!

Mary is an incredibly creative and talented food artist. While she has a portfolio of artistic cakes that we loved, she was open to our own ideas and helped us create a unique cake. We were interested in bright colors and a mad-hatter like design and she was enthusiastic and helpful in designing our cake. She took our suggestions and ideas to heart and added some of her own personal touches.
Beyond the design, the cake flavors she has available are amazing and everyone raved about our cake. All of her cakes are made in a way that they remain moist and flavorful and are made as close to the date of your wedding as possible.

After doing a lot of research for caterers on the Northshore, we came across a few caterers that had what we wanted in terms of menu options, dinner service style, and value. But none really had all 3 in the right combination. That was until we found Topsfield Bakeshop. With some recommendations from family and friends, we found out that not only do they make awesome baked goods, but they have a wonderful catering service as well! From the tasting all the way through the event itself, Chris was absolutely great to work with, making sure that we got all the items that we were looking for. We wanted to keep things simple and we never felt pushed to do anything out of our comfort zone. We had dinner served family style to 65 guests, with chicken piccata as the main entree, and the food was EXcellent. It was also nice and hot, which I know can be a challenge when serving a whole crowd of people. Our guests were saying to us all night, and in the days after, how wonderful the food was!
For dessert, instead of doing a full cake, even though they make some phenomenal cakes, we went with a large pumpkin whoopie pie for our cutting cake, and an assortment of mini whoopie pies for our guests. Everyone LOVED the idea of the cake and all the whoopie pies were snatched up before I knew it! Needless to say, it went over well :)
Overall, our experience working with the Topsfield Bakeshop was a magnificent one, and we would like to say a HUGE thank you for making our reception at the Gould Barn one to remember!

Our experience with Mary at the Topsfield Bakeshop was great! Our wedding cake turned out amazingly, and our guests raved about the Lemon Raspberry and Carrot Cake flavors!
It was very easy to work with the team from the Topsfield Bakeshop. We met with Mary several times to go over the look of the cake, and also to taste all different cake options! When my parents joined us for the tasting, the Topsfield Bakeshop team was welcoming and very accommodating. Our vision of our wedding cake was exactly in line with Mary's and she created the perfect cake for us!
We will surely be visiting the Topsfield Bakeshop again soon for future events!
