Working with Megan for our wedding florals was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. She was incredibly talented, responsive, organized, and truly invested in bringing our vision to life. We had a clear sense of the overall feel we wanted for our florals, but sometimes struggled to put certain ideas into words. Megan was amazing at helping us refine and articulate our vision, asking thoughtful questions and guiding us through the process every step of the way.
What really stood out was her ability to take our ideas and turn them into something tangible. She shared examples from past weddings, offered creative suggestions, and helped us figure out exactly what we wanted without ever making us feel overwhelmed. On top of that, she was always quick to respond and completely on top of every detail throughout the planning process. The final florals were absolutely beautiful and exceeded our expectations. We couldn't have asked for a better florist and would highly recommend Megan to any couple planning their wedding. -

The Secret Garden went above and beyond for our event. The florals were within our color palette, within our budget, and still totally unique. From our first meeting to the logistics of the day, Megan was responsive and excelled at her job. They don't try to get you to overpay on florals or sacrifice quality in the name of cost. I can't sing their praises enough! Even after the wedding, the arrangements lasted for a long time afterwards. -

The arrangements ended up less than our original budget, and we really appreciated that Secret Garden did not try to upsell us things we didn't want. So creative and stunning!!
Megan with the Secret Garden was PHONEMAIL. We got married at in June at the Bohlin in Newport, Rhode Island with 105 guests. We had a long head table with 25 guests and about 12 round guest tables.
This was a complete destination wedding for us, so we booked florists based solely on reviews. With that, I spoke to a ton of florists in the area when trying to figure out who to book. Megan was SO easy to get in touch with and provided the most honest and upfront pricing in my opinion. I gave her my budget and told her I could not go over that amount. She offered SO many suggestions and flower swaps to stay within the budget, and re-did my proposal probably 5 times as my vision changed throughout the planning process. We emailed back and forth the entire time on one email string, which was honestly amazing to keep everything organized (I found my inbox got quite flooded and disorganized in the wedding planning process).
My mom and I were quite particular on our vision, as we’re big into decorating and party-planning ourselves! (My mom even hand embroidered all the guest napkins). We wanted lush tables that looked hand-crafted and unique. And let me tell you- MEGAN DELIVERED! She completely got our vision over the phone. She collected a TON of blue and white ginger jars for us leading up to the event, and even sent us pictures of tables she mocked up. The tables were opulent and classy. I could not be happier with the end product. It was absolutely lovely!! YOU WILL LOVE THE SECRET GARDEN :) -

David and Meg at the Secret Garden are a dream team to work with. David listened to everything I wanted and was willing to work within my budget and had great budget-friendly suggestions to aid in meeting my design goal! He is an absolute rockstar and I had the florals of my DREAMS! He was also very communicative via email and phone anytime I needed anything or wanted to tweak my floral design (or add more candles in the eleventh hour of planning). I would pick Secret Garden to do my wedding florals time and time again! I want to plan a vow renewal just for an excuse to use that many beautiful flowers designed by them again. Cannot wait to see my anniversary flowers next year (because yes I already told my husband to buy them from Secret Garden)! -

Rosecliff, Newport November 2023 Wedding
This review is long overdue but very much warranted—we worked with The Secret Garden for our November 2023 wedding at St. Mary’s Church (Bristol) and Rosecliff Mansion (Newport).
It was an absolute pleasure working with David & The Secret Garden team to plan our florals for our wedding. David was so friendly, kind, and resourceful! from our very first phone call, David had so many ideas and advice, but was also so receptive to our vision for the flowers. We never felt like David was pushing us to “over order”—he was on a mission to capture exactly what we wanted. He was even able to source and rent specific vases and candle holders that we wanted and had seen in our inspiration pictures (but he didn’t have in his standard stash of supplies) so that our wedding could be perfect.
He was very responsive and accommodating throughout the planning process, making sure every last detail was nailed. We made several changes to our arrangements and David always quickly and accurately updated our proposal. We also really appreciated that David clearly communicated any changes to our price quote based on changed that we made, and ensured that we were signed off on any changes before moving forward. He also regularly gave us the option that if we weren’t comfortable with a quote for a specific request, he could “scale up or down” based on our budget. We also had received quotes from multiple florists, and we felt that The Secret Garden prices were extremely reasonable and we got a tremendous “bang for our buck”!
David and his team were extremely efficient with the set up, and they were able to transition many of the arrangements used in the church to the venue to be used again. David was strategic in helping us design floral arrangements that could be used for multiple purpose (e.g., reusing the large vases from the church for our dessert table, using the bridesmaids bouquets on cocktail tables). He was also extremely helpful with breakdown, and he and his team even reused our pieces and set them up at our brunch the next day so we could continue to enjoy the flowers. They did an excellent job and we can’t recommend them highly enough!
And, most importantly, the flowers were INCREDIBLE! Words cannot describe how gorgeous the arrangement turned out. We’re incredibly thankful for David and The Secret Garden team, who really brought our wedding to life! -

The Secret Garden should not be a secret! We hired them for our Rosecliff Mansion wedding, and they delivered beyond our expectations. The personal service, communication and guidance Megan provided was outstanding, and David and his team's work was beautiful. They willingly and artistically incorporated our ideas and 1920's pieces (think natural peacock feathers!) into the bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces. The flowers lasted for weeks after the wedding, so we and our guests could continue to enjoy them. Great flowers/arrangements, great design, great service and great value! My daughter lives out of state so we had to coordinate a few phone calls with David which he was always willing to arrange. Working with David and Megan at the Secret Garden for our June wedding at Warwick Country Club was a dream!! We communicated for the most part with Megan, who was exceedingly professional, accommodating, and responsive with all communication. Her attention to detail was evident from our first phone conversation. When we met with Megan in person, she guided us through all of our choices to bring our wedding floral visions to life! After our initial meeting, we had a few changes to make as the rest of our wedding vision came to life, and Megan and the Secret Garden team were more than accommodating in making these changes, and made sure they were reflected in our running quote sheet. On the day of our wedding, we were blown away by how beautiful every arrangement was!!! They were perfect. Every flower stayed fresh and beautiful despite an extremely warm and humid day. All the more, Megan went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help keep our plan for an outdoor ceremony alive with encroaching rains. When we had to pivot mid-ceremony to an indoor space, Megan had stayed at our venue to make sure the flowers on our arch could be taken down and brought inside. David and the Secret Garden team are truly amazing! They made the flowers for our Newport, RI wedding more amazing than we could have even imagined! David and the team at Secret Garden were a dream to work with. We had our wedding at Rosecliff on 4/21 and from the first meeting David had a wonderful understanding of our vision. On our first meeting, David had a mockup of an arrangement that was almost identical to the ones on my Pinterest board. We talked at length about the kinds of flowers what would be in season for our wedding, our wedding colors, and his recommendations on how to make the most of our venue.
David and the team were very amenable to tweaks and changes leading up to the wedding, and the final result was gorgeousl!! The flowers were fresh and so elegantly arranged. And most importantly, they were exactly what I had pictured in my head.
Finally, one of the things I also appreciated about Secret Garden was their commitment to being budget-conscious and making the most of out of arrangements so there was as little waste as possible. We reused arrangements from the ceremony space in the cocktail hour/reception and the team made these transitions with no hesitation.
I would highly recommend Secret Garden for anyone planning their wedding! -

I honestly don't even know where to begin with writing a review because I have so many positive things to say! I reached out to David regarding wedding flowers and he immediately got back to me. Before I knew it we had a face-to-face consultation arranged. At that consultation he was able to show me all of the flowers he could offer and kept track of things I liked, disliked, and absolutely needed. By the end of our appointment we had made a mini bouquet that he gladly let me take home! Besides the flowers I did NOT like, I gave him full creative control with a color in mind and he delivered masterpieces! The flowers were beyond what I could have ever imagined and we are still getting compliments this day over them! David was able to accommodate every bump in the road and made our wedding day a day to remember! -

David was so responsive and always willing to meet with us in person, which really makes a difference when trying to plan such a big life event. Extraordinary
Working with David Urban and the Secret Garden in Jamestown was a joy. My daughter had her wedding this past weekend. Upon entering the tent, I heard the guests gasp in awe of the beauty.
My daughter’s vision was for it to look like a garden inside the tent. They exceeded every expectation. It was breathtaking. Even the management at the venue stated that in 35 years they had never seen anything so beautiful.
I will not publish the amount I paid because we ordered a huge amount of flowers. I don’t want to deter anyone from using The Secret Garden. David Urban stayed well within our budget. I would have paid much more for the flowers and been completely satisfied. The value of the flowers & service was beyond what I expected.
They were a joy. I would recommend that you get flowers there for every occasion. I certainly will. Thanks again to the amazing team that brought so much beauty to our daughter’s wedding. -

We couldn’t have had a better experience working with The Secret Garden for our May 2023 wedding! Memorial Day is a notoriously busy weekend in Newport, RI but the staff at Secret Garden made us a 100% priority and made the entire experience so beautiful and stress free. When the flowers arrived, they were more beautiful than I could have imagined and the attention to detail to make sure they arrived securely was apparent. David totally understood my vision, and helped me to understand important factors like the height of centerpieces that I hadn’t really considered before we talked through my ideas. Megan and David delivered on our unique ask for a tiny wedding. When I asked for "wild" details in the bouquet and specific flowers, they delivered. They worked their magic with greenery and transformed our bookstore venue into a secret garden of its own. We transitioned back into the space for dinner and they discreetly re entered to set up the loveliest table scape. Florals that helped make our wedding day so special
We had a very positive experience working with David and the staff at secret garden. They were extremely flexible with working with our budget. They also made it possible to highlight important elements for us. One of these elements being a floral fixture they created to hang from the ceiling. David was always willing to meet in person, or quickly respond to any of my questions.

The most amazing florist!
I would never hire any florist other than The Secret Garden. When we met to discuss flowers, David knew every single flower in existence, he understood my vision within seconds and pulled together the most stunning arrangement for me to envision our day. AND he was remarkably affordable! Our planner braced us for a certain cost and The Secret Garden ended up coming in far under the price we expected. And the bouquets, centerpieces, ceremony arrangements, decorative greenery and florals for the seating charts, etc were absolutely stunning.
There is one more story I need to share. The night of my wedding, someone took my bouquet. Who takes the bride's bouquet, I will never know, but I was heartbroken. David immediately ordered more flowers to make me a new one so that I could have one to keep. I could cry just thinking about how incredible he was to work with. Save yourself the time, worry and extra cost, and just hire the Secret Garden. You will be blown away. -
