Awesome reception venue!

We loved having our wedding reception at the Royal! Its gorgeous and spacious and the staff were very helpful!

Great Venue!

Great venue, good parking, beautiful brick for pictures, doesn't need much decorating, plenty of space (small dance floor), quick responses, quick returned security deposit (within a week), overall good experience. No complaints.

Last minute plans

I reached out to The Royal Banquet several months prior to our event, and from the beginning, they demonstrated great attentiveness, kindness, and patience. The initial tour of the venue was not only informative but also provided us with creative ideas on how to make the most out of the space for our special day. Carla, our contact person, was incredibly understanding and stayed in touch with us throughout the entire process, even when it took us a while to finalize the booking.

While there were some anxieties about the timing of our booking, Carla's patience and reassuring demeanor truly put our minds at ease. Her approachability and understanding nature made the planning process much smoother and more enjoyable. Despite some minor concerns about certain aspects of the service being neutral, like communication speed, the overall experience with The Royal Banquet was overwhelmingly positive.

Looking ahead to our event, we are confident that the team at The Royal Banquet will continue to provide the same level of care and professionalism that they have shown us so far. We are excited to see how they bring our vision to life and create a memorable experience for us and our guests. Great space & awesome service!

Very Responsive and Kind Personnel

The Royal was very accommodating and their personnel were all very sweet and helpful. They had a lot of good advice about how to use the space and responded quickly to questions that I had. They were also very flexible when we had difficulty securing an ABC permit for the event. The space turned out really lovely and all my guests enjoyed the event and complimented the venue.

The Royal was AMAZING!!

Mrs Carla was our main contact at the Royal! They were Amazing to work with! They were the most Reasonably priced and offer a Beautiful venue! They were very Professional, Accommodating and very Responsive to all my questions/requests!

I would Recommend them to Any/Everyone who needs a venue, especially for their wedding!

Great Venue

This venue was perfect for us. Very flexible, we had both the reception and ceremony here and the room was very easy to flip for both. And although the conference room is not bridal suite equipped we were able to make it work. I appreciate the Royal Banquet staff for making our day special.

Absolutely amazing

This venue was absolutely amazing! The staff is friendly and quick to respond, and the venue is absolutely beautiful. With us having our wedding during a pandemic, we couldn't have asked for better service or a better venue team.

Simply Amazing

Our wedding was absolutely amazing and we couldn’t have pulled it off without the Royal. The venue has a beautiful open floor plan which allowed ample spacing for our friends and family. Carla and Brooke were beyond helpful and responded to all questions within a timely manner. I’m not sure I can thank the Royal enough for being there every step of the way.

Wonderful venue that made our event stress free

10 years of succesful events at Royal

I'd like to leave this review on behalf of Raleigh Bridge Club. We've been renting the Royal's main ballroom twice a week for the past 10 years (basically every Tuesday and Thursday evenings). We've been also holding our sectional tournaments there during the past 4 years. These are 2.5 days events (Thursday through Saturday) with 150+ participants held twice a year. We are very happy with the relationship we established and with the services Royal has been providing over all these years. Each of our sessions requires very specific setup of multiple tables and chairs and Royal has been extremely diligent and professional about it (as well as cleaning the area before our sessions and events). Any issues we reported over the years were promptly addressed. And in case of unforeseen events (like the pandemic), we were able to bring all the options to the table and come up with mutually satisfactory arrangements. In general, I am happy to recommend Royal. 10 years with them and looking forward to more!

Wonderful Experience with Staff and Venue

The staff at The Royal were professional and very helpful to meet the needs of our event. They were thorough from the booking to the end of the event. We like the space because it is versatile and allowed us to do a variety of activities that evening. Wonderful experience! Thank you!

Carla was always efficient to responding to any questions I had. The staff was quite pleasant as well. One of my vendors was lucky enough to get in the night before to decorate. Very appreciative of that. One thing I would suggest is getting new carpet it’s outdated and take away from the actual venue; or even maybe hardwood floor. My cathedral veil didn’t agree with the carpet.

My dream wedding come true

I cannot be happier with the venue we chose for our April wedding. I fell in love with The Royal from the first tour and went to 5 more tours even after we booked, because the place holds so many possibilities. Carla was amazing and so helpful through the entire process and answered my many questions so quickly. I never had a hard time trying to get in contact with anyone and the staff was always so kind. We were very pleased with all that was included for the price and could not have imagined a more perfect wedding day or venue. I would definitely recommend for your future events.

Awesome wedding venue

We had my daughter's wedding reception at The Royal. I cant say enough great things about the venue! Perfect location, easy to book, affordable, great communication and easy to work with. You can bring your own caterer, bartender, decorator...very flexible. We used the entire venue and had cocktail jour and photo booth out in the open area by the entry doors. So many possibilities!! I would say 216 people can be comfortably seated at round tables of 8. Everyone loved the venue. Highly reccomend

We had a staff retreat at the Royal Banquet Conference Center. It was the perfect location for us and they made everything super easy.

The location was perfect for our event. There is plenty of parking and the staff are super helpful. We were totally satisfied.

The best place to rent!

The facility and staff were both the absolute best! This is the ideal place to hold a party, wedding or reception. Our guest and guest of honor were all floored. The place was beautiful!

I loved the atmosphere at the Royal. It is a beautiful space that needed minimal decorating. I had a photobooth, 22 round tables, three food stations, and the bar, so it was a little tight. A sit down dinner might have provided more room, but we made it work. Everyone had a great time, and the staff was very accommodating.

We used the business center for a homeowner association meeting. We had a date error on our end and Carla was awesome and it all worked out. Room was exactly what we needed. Highly recommend.

What a wonderful experience! Carla was very responsive to all of my emails and concerns. The host was extremely nice for the day of our wedding. Even down to the facility's manager that was on duty while we were setting up, he was very knowledgeable and helped us with everything we needed. What a wonderful experience!

We are a small Catholic school in the Raleigh area and were in need of banquet space. The Royal helped us with securing the space within our budget and kept in constant communication with me and the caterer every step of the way!! The school will use their services again!!!

We had approximately 150 person event, the tables, food, and entertainment were all set up perfectly. During the planning period we changed a few things and always met with a quick response and positive attitude. I highly recommend this location for any event.

They're were very accomodating, and the host was incredibly nice. She even helped us clean the venue after, which was no small task. The space is quite large and can easily accomodate a ball for 200 people to dance, sit and enjoy a buffet styled dinner. After using this venue twice for an annual event, I can highly reccomend it.

We absolutely loved having our reception at The Royal! The staff were wonderful to work with, and the venue is amazing! Its not a far walk to the elevator from the parking lot for family members that couldn't walk long distances. We could have also used the space as a backup for our outdoor ceremony had we needed to, which was great. Highly recommend them!

Our experience at The Royal was wonderful. Their staff was kind & courteous, and they helped us however needed.
The tables, chairs, and serving stations were setup and ready to go, which freed us up to simply decorate and set the tables for the dinner. They provided quality service from beginning to end. I will gladly recommend them to others, and use them for other events in the future.

We held a school dance and the facility and it was absolutely the easiest event I have ever planned! The Royal made it so easy to setup and hold the event. They put out the tables and chairs. Allowed us to have access for the entire day so we could set up early and not wait until the last minute. Clean up was super easy! The students enjoyed the layout of the facility and the teachers liked it because all the students were contained! Everyone had a wonderful time. I would suggest this location for anyone having any type of reception!

The Royal Banquet was a great venue for the value. I could bring in my own vendors, they were responsive to emails from me and my reception coordinator and able to accommodate the last minute addition of an extended dance floor. The brick interior adds charm. I'm glad I picked this place!

This place was absolutely phenomenal! The workers are very responsive and professional. This was the first time I have hosted an event, so I was a little frantic but they were flexible and willing to help in anyway possible! Most importantly is that their website is up-to-date and just as helpful as one-on-one interaction. All the information you would need is on their website, like suggest vendors, layout plans as well as the contract; very transparent. I would undoubtedly recommend the Royal Banquet to anyone needing a venue that is in a great location as well as decent fantastic range! I would hold my event there every year if I could.

Carla and crew were wonderful! We had a great experience. I was a little bummed that the red walls were gone for my wedding, but we brought in dirt cheap uplighting and the place was just magical! The customer service was excellent. We only had the smallest of glitches -- as every event would have -- and the venue was so good for our ever-growing group of wedding guests. It was so convenient, and everyone was so helpful and understanding.

Excellent location and staff. Well maintained facility. I do recommend they consider upgrading the food prep area by adding oven or heating appliance.

It's funny because The Royal is where I wanted my wedding at first before the whole wedding craze kicked in. I must have gone through seven or eight venues before I was scrambling to find one two months before the wedding. Carla was very accommodating. The space is beautiful. Don't worry about the red. It brings out any other colors. Easy, simple, and cost efficient, The Royal has it all. Give it try!

The Royal was the best place to have a wedding that you want to desgin yourself. It is a blank canvas and and nice place to just add touches.

I really loved the way the venue was shaped so we could utilize the who space. It was great and for a great value.

I would highly recommend it for smallewr weddings.

I booked this venue for a Company Holiday event, but I'm assuming you still need to be aware that The Royal Banquet and Conference Center has a list of Caterers (food vendors) they prefer. Make sure you are aware of their rules regarding bringing in a "new vendor".

Beautiful location for a wedding! Very professional and clear contract. The only issue I had was with the availability of the building on the date we had chosen. The Royal Banquet attempted to be flexible and allow access to the building an hour before hand.

We rented room B for a fairly large rehearsal dinner. Erin and Carla were so helpful. They worked with us to set up a good layout for the room (banquet tables, cocktail tables, bar, and 8 rounds), and on the day of the event Erin arrived a little early to help us get the A/V tested, and stayed on site the entire time. The batteries in the overhead speakers (we'd plugged in an iPhone) died at one point, and Erin changed them out immediately. We used both the lavalier mic and the hand-held for toasts, no problems. Same for projector and screen. The caterers were pleased with the relatively large prep kitchen, and the restrooms were clean and well supplied. I liked having the option of a patio (though we didn't use it), and the entry/foyer was useful for welcoming guests and setting up a nametag table. The event went smoothly. It's a lot of work to cater an event start to finish, from centerpieces to barware, renting every tablecloth and fork and glass (as opposed to a restaurant-based event, where it's already on site), but if you want a larger, flexible space, with an option for dancing, the Royal can't be beat.

We had our wedding reception @ the Royal. It turned out truly beautiful. The venue itself has this elegant charm, perfect for weddings. It has a built in dance floor which was a savings since a few places we checked out charged a few hundred dollars extra for the dance floor.

We had a medium size wedding party, but, I could easily see the royal working great for weddings and receptions.. 50 to 200 guests.

Our caterer had worked there several times before, the space has a out door patio, a kitchen.. clean well kept bathrooms. Covered parking.

Bottom line.. it's a fabulous place for a wedding reception.. we looked at over 20.. elegant, best value.. book early, they fill up.

The Royal is nothing to look at on the outside, but gorgeous inside. We loved the intimacy of the historic brickwork, large mirrors, and soft lighting. For a time, we worried that the red walls would clash with the bright color scheme of our wedding, but the darkness of them just brought out the brightness of our green and purple flowers all the more. Carla was great to work with and the reception went off without a hitch. I highly recommend.

Both of us remember the old bakery and loved the idea of having the ceromony and reception in the same venue. It is beautifully decorated and a wonderful setting for a wedding. The under-building parking and elevator were important to us for our handicapped guests. I would highly recommend The Royal to anybody.

I was hard for my to find a place for both a wedding and a reception, this was the perfect place. It's practically hidden away on Hillsborough Street, but it's beautiful! Robin, the event coordinator was a big help and could always meet with me on my schedule.

The Baha'i Spiritual Assembly of Raleigh has rented the Royal Banquet facility for a Naw Ruz (New Year) party on March 20th of 2013 and 2014. We were delighted with the facility for our parties. It was clean, spacious, and the the atmosphere was perfect. The staff was very accommodating, even allowing us to store items ahead, so that we could get set up in time. There was never any problem. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to rent such a fine and reasonably priced facility with ample parking and an elevator to help us transport what we needed up the flight of stairs. We have already given our deposit to rent the Royal Banquet again for March of 2015.

The contract is very clear and simple. Carla was very responsive.

The layout of the hall is L shaped so not very convenient to arrange. We were barely able to fit 120 seated guests in one section. The dance floor is fixed and along one of the walls. This does not allow flexibility.

We worked very hard to accommodate all the decorations, last minute changes, etc. The venue accommodates up to 240 people, but means all tables will be spread throughout the L shape and not only in one section while also utilizing the provided dance floor. Wonderful experience

Wonderful experience working with Royal Banquet staff to organize an engagement party during pandemic. Very supportive and helpful on site staff member during event.

Great venue!!

Everything about the venue was great and very roomy! The price was reasonable. But as far as meeting and touring times, it was okay because it would be at the start of 5 o’clock traffic, which was terrible on my half from where I was coming from. But although, everyone that helped us were lovely, especially Brooke!! We specifically requested to have her on our wedding day at the venue!

The Royal staff was super helpful and always quick to respond. I loved the flexibility of the venue when so many other venues have strict vendor lists and rules. The Royal was essentially a blank canvas which we loved! It was very convienent to our ceremony at Meredith College and allowed for a downtown feel without all the parking issues! Perfect place to celebrate our wedding reception!

THE best, yet affordable venue to utilize for your wedding! I plan to use this venue again for future couple outings. Friendly and down to earth staff, beautiful venue, and very appealing to all genres.

The Royal Banquet was overall a great place for our wedding reception! The set up was almost how it should have been, however I think there was a miscommunication issue but everything worked out fine. I would definitely use their services again as well as recommend them to others!

Beautiful venue!! Lighting is very romantic and I loved the brick accent walls. Only thing is if you need to flip the room from ceremony to reception, they will not assist so my bridal party and family were put incharge of that which bothered me some. And clean up is your responsibility. They will do one set up so if you don't have to flip the room then you're good to go!

The Royal Banquet was a beautiful location for our daughter's wedding. The space worked very well for a sit down dinner with dancing. There are lots of options for decorating the venue to match your own style. The staff is very helpful and took good care of us prior to the reception and during it. It was a great experience for us!

Carla was wonderful to work with. I loved the space because it complimented my theme/colors well and had plenty of space to utilize. The best part was being able to have the ceremony AND reception in one location without having much "rework" to do- the guests were able to go to the other room while the ceremony room became the buffet. It's a little pricey- but definitely LESS than a LOT of surrounding venues and you do get a LOT for your money (including chairs and tables, a sound system etc). Definitely worth the investment, especially since they absolutely 100% know what they're doing! They are experts at this and it shows. Any and all questions I had, they were able to answer (including things related to traffic!). I'd use the Royal again in a heartbeat- we got sooooo many compliments on the location!

The folks at the Royal were very easy to work with and very friendly. The venue offers a lot for the price compared to other reception venues, and it's flexible in that you can choose your own vendors, or even do the catering yourself. Our host for the reception was really awesome, too. The only thing we found any trouble with was sometimes it was difficult to get ahold of the manager because she doesn't live in NC, and we seemed to play a bit of phone tag with her, but she was always pleasant and accommodating. You can really transform this space and make it your own. We loved it! Many thanks to all at The Royal.

I loved working with this vendor. With one flat fee that left us open to make our wedding exactly like we wanted using the vendors that we wanted, the food etc. It was awesome!

Nice versatile space

It was perfect for our 150 guest wedding reception. The access time was the only issue but we managed.

The venue was great and easy to find/access and easy to decorate. Parking space for attendees was equally adequate. I would not hesitate to recommend this banquet/conference center to anyone.

The first time we used the facility it rained and there was a leak that we had to work around when using the bathroom.
This was a Business Event not a Wedding Event

Good Value for a last minute wedding

We cancelled our much larger wedding and found this place at the last second. Its a really good value for what you get and our decorator made the place look really good!
