tl;dr we're obsessed with the Oberports and want them to photograph every event ever from now on!
My wife and I had two priorities in looking for photographers: we wanted pictures that felt like us, capturing all the color and energy of our wedding, and we wanted photographers that would fit in seamlessly with our people and be easy and fun to spend the day with. The Oberports were truly perfect. Emily and Bobby are absolute artists -- throughout our engagement shoot and wedding day, we loved watching them play off each other, looking for new angles and effects and taking inspiration from our environment. Their love for what they do and their genuine interest in the couples they work with is so evident in every picture they take.
On our wedding day, Emily and Bobby were absolute lifesavers. They had generously helped us to create our wedding day timeline and on the day, they kept us totally on track. We were able to enjoy ourselves and experience the wedding we'd planned while still having plenty of time for portraits, and they captured so many magical candid moments. They made us and all of our guests feel relaxed and comfortable, and they brought professionalism and a sense of humor in equal measure. They're also just super cool people; we never wanted them to leave!
Our full photo gallery is absolutely f**king breathtaking. We literally get complements on our photographers more than on the wedding itself (and we wouldn't have it any other way)! They captured our energy and the energy of our guests so thoroughly; every picture feels alive and full of joy and motion. I don't know how they do what they do but they are the absolute best and we truly can not imagine our wedding without them. 10000/10 recommend.

The Oberports are top notch in every way. If you are looking for a documentary/storytelling style look no further! They are highly skilled at capturing raw moments with creativity. Their passion for photography, art and people shine through their work! We are still in awe at our weddings photos, and look at them time and time again. One art, please!
If you're into creative and artsy photography, then hire the Oberports! Emily and Bobby like to joke that their customers ask them for "one art, please!", and that's exactly what they delivered for us. The photos were everything we hoped for and more. My brother, who doesn't give compliments lightly, called the photos "absolutely phenomenal". Besides making brilliant art, Emily and Bobby have such a delightfully positive attitude that you'll see throughout all of their communication. Everything is fun and happy and they really make you feel special as the bride and groom. They traveled to DC for our wedding and we're so lucky they did!

Best Experience with the Oberports!
Emily and Bobby are the BEST! In short, they are professional, communicative, beautiful artists, and so, so helpful. We moved to WV last summer, and our original wedding plans were postponed. We still wanted to get married in a mini-ceremony. Once I saw their photos at Dolly Sods, I knew it (the location and them as photographers) was exactly what we wanted. They helped immensely with their elopement guides online, and the entire wedding day went extremely smoothly. We printed so many of the photos (and probably could have printed more! So amazing!) They will be photographing our newborn in a couple short weeks. So excited for the photos!

Amazing Photos & Excellent Experience
If you have the option, book The Oberports. This was the easiest and best decision we made while planning our wedding. They were extremely easy and wonderful to work with even during the ever-changing circumstances of 2020. We were greatly appreciative of their patience as we were deciding what to do since our original wedding plan was no longer an option.
The photographs are phenomenal, and the way they capture moments as they happen naturally is truly beautiful. They took our engagement photos earlier in the summer and those, too, are amazing. BONUS: they can also capture really fun photos of your three/four-legged family members! I am so grateful we will be able to look back on these pictures for years to come and be reminded of this special time in our lives. Hiring Emily and Bobby was the BEST DECISION we made when planning our wedding. When you hire The Oberports, you invest in your future. Because they capture genuine moments, you receive not only brilliant pictures, but wonderful memories. It has been almost a year since our wedding, and I am STILL finding new favorite pictures from our big day. When I look at the pictures, I have no problem remembering how I felt at that very moment.
Emily and Bobby are extremely talented and professional. They always made sure we knew what to expect during all the stages of planning and during our wedding. I wish we would have had that same level of communication with some of our other vendors! We felt incredibly comfortable with them throughout the entire day. It felt like we were hanging out with old friends and it just felt natural.
The Oberports are so incredibly kind. When we were on our minimoon, I began thinking about the whirlwind of our wedding day. After a conversation with a family member, I became worried that I did not get a picture with just my Mom. I could not think of a time when it was just the two of us. I began to panic and quickly became inconsolable. My husband emailed them to see if they could remember whether there was a picture of just my mom and I. Within minutes, they sent a reply with screenshots of multiple pictures to assure me that they did get them! They remembered how important family pictures were to us and made sure that it happened. I am forever grateful for that.
I cannot stress enough how much we appreciate these two! Trust me that hiring them is the best move you could make!

I don’t exactly know where to start, from beginning to end-Emily & Bobby have been phenomenal.
Their kind & easy going approach, made all of the photos on our wedding day way less stressful than I expected. They preserved our wedding day, in beautiful shots. They made me laugh when I felt like crying & they knew our venue like the back of their hand & worked in areas with the best light. They worked around an emotional & somewhat exhausted bride easily. They weren’t invasive but even from the previews, got shots we didn’t even expect to have. They also are the champs of group photos.
I can’t begin to express how thankful my husband and I are for these two. We got married right before the outbreak, and if there is anything I can say for anyone whose considering booking for your upcoming wedding or having to reschedule: they’re worth every penny.

So very happy that we went with the Oberports! I used to be a photographer and have a good eye for detail and an understanding of quality imagery, which made finding a wedding photographer I’d really be happy with a little more of a challenge. If you're on the fence about hiring The Oberports for any reason, don't be and just hire them already!! They were so great and easy to work with! They truly went above and beyond, from the materials they send out that help with planning and managing time during the wedding, to actually scouting out our ceremony site in a state forest to make sure we choose the best site possible! Not only were they beyond helpful and professional, they are also very easy to be around. Every single person at the wedding had nothing but positive things to say about them.
All of the pictures are absolutely gorgeous. Every time we look through them, we end up tearing up. One of my favorite things about the photos The Oberport's take is that they really do focus on the people, which was so important to us. We had a small wedding with family and friends from all across the country, and it has been so special to us to have those photos of all of the people we love at our wedding. We will truly cherish these photos forever!!

Just amazing
It's hard to put into words how pleased, happy, elated, etc we are with The Oberports. They are so talented, they are so professional. They kept us at ease when it looked like dark clouds were rolling in during our outdoor pictures. They made us feel comfortable during those seemingly silly shots (narrator: they weren't silly shots) where our faces were smooshed together for minutes on end. Throughout the day they were always around capturing fantastic candid shots but you could hardly tell. They were never intrusive. It was just magic. And just another note - they had recently been in a scary car accident aaand we were close to the last in their long string of fall wedding weekends, but you would never have been able to tell that with their attentiveness to us and our day.

Where do I even begin with these two?? I was one crazy elopement bride with requests and they NEVER hesitated to answer my many questions. Both Emily and Bobby were the warmest and most comforting photographers. I’m not a shy person but when a camera is around I tend to shy away. These two made my now husband and myself feel the most comfortable. They made our wedding day, a day we will never ever forget! We still have only seen a few teasers of what they captured but were in love at first site! I would recommend these two to absolutely anyone! I hope one day we can use them in the future!

Where to begin with reviewing these 2 talented individuals? 5 stars doesn't truly seem to be enough! I had a very specific idea in my head what I invisioned for my wedding photos! Emily and Bobby listened to my desires and produced everything beyond my wildest dreams! They captured every emotion that I felt that day and some I didn't even realize I was having! I cherish every single moment I spent with them and what they captured for me to cherish forever! My vision was very dark. My colors were black and gold. I envisioned my wedding being as dark as a candle lit castle! The images they captured were spot on. So very romantic and dreamy! Emily and Bobby's attention to detail and capturing a feeling or a look is unbelievable! With over 700 photos to choose from there isn't a single "bad" shot! How do I choose what to have printed out and not have 700 photos all over my house! I can not wait to work with them again and see the beauty they are able to capture! Amazing wedding photographers!!
The Oberports are the best! After looking for years at their pictures in the WV Weddings magazine, I knew I loved their style and how each couples' pictures were unique. They were quick to respond to our many emails and questions. We changed our wedding plan from a large traditional wedding to something very small- they were super easy going with the change and gave us suggestions for picture opportunities in our new location. They are laid back and calming when things don't go totally right on the big day, but also professional and are able to keep things like family photos moving along. They captured so many amazing moments and family/friends are in awe when they see our photos, often telling me "I now see why you wanted the Oberports." Our wedding pictures are something I want to display because they are not your typical posed portraits.
It rained intermittently on our wedding day, so we weren't able to take pictures with our dogs. The Oberports knew this was something that was important to us and emailed several weeks after our wedding arranging to take pictures with our dogs. This meant so much to us! They truly go above and beyond to make sure your experience is positive. I recommend the Oberports to everyone- you will not be disappointed!

Best Photographers Ever!
It is hard to even know where to start when talking about The Oberports... not only are they extremely talented photographers, they are truly some of the best people we know. We met them at a friend's wedding, and after having wonderful interactions with them and seeing their amazing photos, when it came time to plan our wedding, we planned it around The Oberport's availability. Leading up to the wedding, they were extremely organized, and responded almost immediately to any emails that we sent. They had such a calm about the process, which made me calm on our big day. They were so much fun to work with, and they did an amazing job capturing our day perfectly. Our wedding day was freezing, but they did an awesome job getting our outdoor photos done efficiently. They even had Hot Hands for all of our wedding party members! Our guests even the next day were talking about how nice our photographers were and how they never seemed to be in the way ha!. The Oberports are truly wonderful people and booking them for our wedding was the best decision we ever made. Couldn't recommend them enough!

Let's see, where do I begin in explaining how wonderful and talented The Oberports are? Our families love affair with The Oberports started back in 2012 when Emily and Bobby documented both of my sisters weddings. From my sisters engagement shoots and wedding days, to numerous family photo sessions, they've become the official Liberatore family photographers. So when I got engaged I called them within days to reserve our dates. They were the only option for our wedding. Emily and Bobby met us in Annapolis for our engagement photos and then back to North Beach, Maryland for our wedding a couple weeks ago. They also introduced me to David with Studio213Films who we booked as our videographer. They are responsive, easy going, detail oriented and capture the most amazing moments. They are talented photographers and but also really cool people so it is fun spending time with them. Which is important since you'll spend so much time together. They also have a sense of calm to them which helps you relax in front of the camera. I would forget they are there at times. In the most artistic and beautiful way, they capture your story and special moments. I really can't recommend them enough. They are an amazing team and you won't be disappointed in booking them for your wedding!

Though I'm based in Cleveland, I knew I wanted this Charleston, WV-based duo for our wedding day. I went to college with the wife half of their husband/wife team, & having them as our wedding photographers was the only thing I knew I wanted for my own wedding. They were definitely a splurge for us, but without even seeing our pictures, we knew they were absolutely worth it.
When our photos came in, they were better than we'd ever dreamed, capturing so many of those little details that really made the day the joyful, full-of-love celebration that it was. You won't get, from the Oberports, tons & tons of posed shots, (unless you specifically request them, I assume) - but you WILL get tons & tons of the details & those real-life moments, the expressions & the smiles & the magic of the actual moments as they happened on your wedding day. WOW! Just WOW! The Oberports are AMAZING. As we were planning a wedding out of state, we live in DC but got married in WV – we had a bit of an unique situation. With our schedules, we were unable to align our engagement shoot with The Oberports. Since we were unable to work with/meet them prior to the wedding date, they were so kind to meet us for drinks over winter break when we were in WV to get to know us, and allow us to feel more comfortable working with them on the actual day. Leading up to the event, they were VERY responsive to all emails and inquiries, and actually hopped on a call to help me finalize the logistical timing for the first look and bridal/family portraits. While were we were getting ready, they both had a calming presence – which is so critical on the morning of an already stressful/exciting day. What I loved the most about them is their ability to see a photo – they can visualize the exact position, the exact lighting, and the final outcome prior to snapping the picture which allows them to get incredible and stunning photos so quickly! We weren’t taking the “same shot” multiple times to get it “just right” because they are so skilled and can get it perfect on the first try. During the actual ceremony and reception, I don’t even remember seeing them on the dance floor or taking any photos – that’s how awesome and skilled they are in capturing shots without being a distraction or intrusive. We had multiple guests comment on how great they were at staying “low key” and how easy to work with they were! When we received our wedding photos, we were speechless. It’s truly magical how they’re able to capture feelings and moments within one still frame. We’ve received so many compliments from friends and family on the photos, and we couldn’t be happier. I would highly recommend The Oberports – choosing them as our photographers was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!

I mean it when I say my wedding planning started with “When are the Oberports available?” The talent of the their team was of the utmost priority for capturing this important milestone. I was, and continue to be, so thankful for October 29, 2016, and who captured it. Emily and Bobby made the photography aspect of our wedding enjoyable, and well thought out. I appreciated the step-by-step process of the timeline for the day, what we wanted captured, and the dreaded topic of “formal pictures.” They made the process so easy, and when it came to fruition it flowed perfectly. However, one of the sweetest parts of our day was the golden hour (between the ceremony and reception). I never felt so happy, and in love with my new husband. And the best part? Every moment, and feeling post ceremony was captured by this team. I would do it all over again with the highest package. It was, and continues to be, worth every penny. Another wonderful part of our wedding photos, is the joy it has also brought to others. What a blessing. We couldn't be happier with the Oberports. They were incredibly responsive both in planning and during the day. We had a huge snafu with our ceremony (officiant did not show up), and it hung like a black cloud in the weeks after the wedding, until Emily sent along our wedding preview album and, I was overwhelmed. I could finally see the day as I had wanted it to be. They have an incredible gift. It's like their lens knew us, despite meeting for the first time on the morning of the wedding. They captured so many gestures and faces and moments of our family that are so etched in my bones. Our portraits are stunning, but their extraordinary talent lies in the journalistic shots that capture the real moments of the day. My husband was amazed at the intense moments they captured without us realizing they were there. They worked their butts off capturing the dance floor at our reception. Everyone who has seen our pictures has raved at the magazine quality. They were incredibly helpful in being open to our ideas, and also guiding us and helping us through our frustrations on the day of the wedding. They were professional and speedy in getting us our albums, and put everyone at ease the day of the wedding. Our package came with an album. It's absolutely beautiful - not like anything you could put together on shutterfly. While more pricey than other photographers, it's beyond worth it.

I was an admirer of The Oberport's work before I was ever a client. The photos they captured of our rehearsal dinner and wedding day in Washington, DC are truly my greatest treasures. And rain on your wedding day must really bring good luck because the unplanned photos that came as a result of the weather are some of my most favorites and underscore their flexibility and skill. Both Bobby and Emily were great to work with. They are thorough, professional, accomodating, and most importantly - flexible. They knew exactly when to be business first and also when to let their hair down. We hired them as photographers, but we gained them as friends.

The only thing I knew I wanted for our wedding when we got engaged was to find a way for Emily and Bobby to photograph our wedding. They have remarkable work ethic and communication and work so well as a team - an inspiration for us yet-to-be and newly married couples. The Oberports are top notch at their craft. They were great to work with and gave us so many amazing images of both our engagement and wedding. They were totally flexible on our slightly hap-hazard order of events, helped to coordinate, and even lent me and my bridesmaids sunscreen on our unseasonably hot wedding day. Weddings are stressful and when looking for vendors, you definitely want ones that go the extra mile. The Oberports do that. Emily, Bobby, and their photos were loved by all of our family and friends and, most importantly, my hard-to-please husband. Great people and great service. Highly recommended!

Best my expectations by a million. Our wedding was very casual and the pictures Bobby and Emily took made it seem like a million dollar wedding. I recommend them fully. We had a million different changes during our wedding planning and they were very chill and went along with whatever we wanted to do.

Emily and Bobby were great - professional, timely and authentic. We are so pleased with our engagement and wedding photos - I smile every time I look at them! My advice for future couples would be to look at the Oberports wedding samples, along with samples on Pinterest and such. The wedding day happens so quickly, and you certainly don't have time to think about which moments you want captured on the spot. Emily and Bobby do a great job catching candids and the shots you've previously listed and communicated to them, but if there's something you really want it's important to speak up. We highly recommend the Oberports to future couples and are so pleased with our photos - it's so great to look back at the photos and relive every detail and moment.

Emily and Bobby are incredibly talented, but they were also laid back enough that the photography part of my wedding day didn't feel stressful at all. We took photos throughout the evening when it was convenient, and while we mingled with guests they got some really incredible detail shots of our reception as well as some very fun shots of our friends and family having a good time. The Oberports were the first vendor I booked when I started wedding planning -- I've never seen a bad photo from them. I plan to use them in the future for family portraits and other things, too.

Having followed the Oberports' work for several years, we knew that choosing them to capture our wedding memories was a priority. Honestly, we set our wedding based on a date they had available and worked everything else (venue, catering, and musicians) around them; booking their services was our first confirmation after getting engaged. As a bride who greatly values sentimentality and photographs, I had full confidence entrusting our special day to the Oberports' skill and creativity. From our initial emails, to dinner a few months before the wedding to get to know us as a couple, and then being part of our wedding day, the Oberports were so knowledgeable and fun to work with in every aspect. They understood and shared our vision in capturing photos that ranged from traditional to ones that held special meaning to us and fit our wedding's vintage theme. They were patient, professional, and felt like long-time friends. I can't imagine anyone else could have offered an experience and outcome that we'd have been as satisfied. Seven months later, and I'm still trying to decide which photo is my favorite, because I love them all! I highly recommend the Oberports; their work is unmatched in quality, creativity and style!

The Oberports are as good as it gets! After working in the wedding industry, I've seen the work of many talented photographers. However, for years I've loved the way Bobby and Emily capture emotion! When it came time to make the decision for our big day, they were at the top of my list and I was thrilled when our date was available!
Our photos are incredible and capture every emotion and every moment perfectly. There are so many photos we want to print, we may have to wallpaper the house with them! In addition to wonderful work, they were incredible at blending into the moments, but also taking control to keep the process moving along. And they did this all while making everyone feel comfortable and natural.
Photography was a big part of the day for us and we couldn't be more thankful we chose The Oberports! Thanks Bobby and Emily! We can't wait to have you capture other chapters in our lives!

It doesn't get any better than Bobby and Emily. Hands down, they were our greatest investment when it came to our engagement and wedding. We didn't even realize there were two photographers at our reception, it felt as if two more friends were there. Only difference, these two friends gave us the most beautiful photographs and memories for years to come. They are knowledgable, easy going, experienced, talented, and a BLAST to spend your time! The love, energy, and excitement they captured in our photos could not have been done any better, period. We will continually go back to Bobby and Emily not only for their amazing talent, but because we now consider the two of them friends. Absolutely Amazing! We could not have been happier with our decision to have The Oberports capture all of those special moments! We have looked through our engagement and wedding photos so many times, we fall in love with them all over again! Emily & Bobby are absolutely wonderful to work with - positive, helpful, professional, and most importantly FUN! They are so unbelievably talented at capturing those unforgettable moments at every angle! I wanted a Winter Wedding in West Virginia with snow... It was 60 degrees and sunny. They searched and found snow in shaded areas and took several photos making it look like the Winter Wonderland I dreamed! We LOVED having them as a part of our wedding day!

The Oberports are amazing photographers, fun people, and now our friends (at least we think so ha). They are always super responsive, quick with advice, and calm in a crazy moment.
When my dress zipper broke an hour before the ceremony, Emily was positive and calming and did what she could to help my mom sew over the zipper. That is another thing, they aren't just photographers, they end up being a second and third pair of hands, confidants, and general bad ass, take-control kinda folks. They will make sure your grandparents are minimally inconvenienced for family photos and somehow are take-control but also very sweet while doing so.
The Oberports are the real deal!

The Oberports deliver from start to finish. From first meeting them for our engagement pictures to how much we love our engagement pictures and ending with getting to relive our wedding day every time we look at out wedding pictures. The quality of their work is incomparable as is their ease to get along with and work beside. They were such a joy to have around on our wedding day and they captured our day beautifully. There were several things I stressed about when making choices for our wedding but the one thing I was sure about was choosing to work with Emily and Bobby. This assurance was well placed in them because our pictures are amazing. They went above and beyond for us and when we received our pictures we were in awe of the way they displayed their brand and our pictures. If you're on the fence with deciding whether or not to choose them, I highly recommend choosing them. It's a decision you won't regret because they can make anything beautiful.

The Oberports were the best find of our wedding. I knew the photography would be the most important part of the wedding for me so I took a lot of time looking into vendors. I was overjoyed that Bobby & Emily could shoot our date and that they were willing to travel!
Hiring them on just what I saw online made me happy but I was OVERJOYED when I met them inperson. My husband didn't love getting his photo taken but they made it super easy for him and he actually loved it.
The pictures -- well let's just say we L-O-V-E-D them! We got so many great shots and our friends and family tell us nearly every day how great the pics are on our Facebook page. (They haven't even seen the 1/2 of them!)
God bless Emily & Bobby and what they brought to our union. They were pretty fun to hang out with too!

great at making you feel at ease with having your picture taken. They took our engagement photos, wedding photos and photos of my nephew while he was in town. All of the shots are wonderful. Emily and Bobby are literally a joy to work with & their calm cool relaxed personalities impacted my wedding day in such a great way. Their wedding albums are by far the most luxurious and professional wedding albums I have ever seen. Words cannot express how nice the albums really are. Plus they love cats...which is always a plus!

Emily and Bobby are the best team. They are very professional, experts in their field, and wonderful to work with. I am obsessed with The Oberports' photography! Wow. Our final edited photos are spectacular. In trying to choose my favorites, I ended up with 150+ photos, and in reality, I loved all of them. We chose The Oberports for their photojournalistic style and that's what we got--what amazing moments they captured! The portraits were beautiful too.
Don't look anywhere else--book these photographers immediately. No matter where you live!

I cannot say enough good things about Emily and Bobby. We did not do an engagement session, but did meet with them once before our wedding. We were very comfortable spending our wedding day with them and they were very laid back and flexible. Since I was able to see lots of their pictures from previous weddings before our wedding, I had complete confidence in them and really only requested a few specific pictures, trusting they would get the rest. We received a slideshow from them a few days ago of about 150 pictures from our wedding. I LOVE them! I have sent the link to several people and everyone has been very impressed with how artistic the photos are and a few have said they see now why we chose them as our photographers. We will be getting more pictures from them and will receive a CD with all the photos that we can use and print on our own. They couldn't have captured our day better and were very fun to work with!

When I got engaged, the very first thing I did was book a photographer. For years I had admired Emily’s work and I knew that she was the only one for me before I even sat down with her and Bobby. There was no question I HAD to have The Oberports photograph my engagement and wedding day. However, once I met them, if anything, the necessity of having them photograph the most important day of my life only increased. Not only are they witty, fun, and sarcastic (a must in my book!), they are sweet, creative, understanding, and INCREDIBLY talented! Not a week goes by that I don’t get compliments on my engagement photos (which were taken over a year ago!) and my wedding photos perfectly captured the spirit of the day, from our silly and fun loving family and friends to the love and joy between my husband and I. They are one of the best investments I have ever made and I am beyond thankful that I was able to have them capture all the special moments from my engagement session to our perfect wedding day! I went to college with Emily, so I've been following her work since the beginning. I knew before I even met my husband that I wanted Emily to photograph my wedding. I told my husband that I wouldn't marry him unless she was the photographer, lol! We literally based our date around the availability of The Oberports. That's how much I love their work. And then... I got our photos. Our magical, beautiful photos. I will cherish these images for a lifetime. They are priceless to me. There aren't enough great words to describe Emily and Bobby and their skills, attention to detail and great personalities. I can 100% say they were the best money we spent for our wedding. The images they gave us, both for our engagement and wedding, are priceless. When I first contacted Emily and Bobby, I didn't expect much - just an email back and some pricing information. Emily answered my initial email the same day and offered to meet in Morgantown, just a few days later. We met Emily and Bobby, saw some of their work and albums, talked over ideas and just general topics. It was perfect. They made us instantly feel comfortable around them and that was it! We made our decision. They were so easy going, professional and kind that it was the easiest decision we made during the wedding process. We then met up a few months later for our engagement session. The day started horrible - rain and gloomy skies. My fiancé and I were not interested in taking rainy photos as we wanted to go on our boat and have sunny photos. Emily and Bobby were incredibly flexible. Not only did they agree to postpone since those photos weren't what we wanted after coming to Morgantown - about an hour after we decided to cancel, the sun came out and it was gorgeous. I talked to Emily and they were still on for shooting that day. That flexibility made for AMAZING engagement photos! We couldn't have asked for better photographers in the moment. Then came the wedding and we were once again blown away by the photos they captured. Truly, you will not regret hiring The Oberports for your photography. They are some of the most down to earth, kind, talented and easy going people we have ever met. When planning our wedding we knew that it was very important to hire great photographer(s). After doing our research and looking through many portfolio’s no one could compete with The Oberports; we loved their work! Emily & Bobby are a great team, they are professional, easy to work with, always responsive, and most of all very talented at what they do! It was so nice to do the engagement shoot and met them before the big day. We felt so comfortable with them and had a fun time with the photo shoot. On our wedding day we sometimes forgot they were even there because they were that good. We could not be happier with both our engagement and wedding photos. I had always admired the work of Emily Porter and when it came time for me to get married she was number 1 on my list. We were paying for our wedding on our own and I had just been out of college a year so we were trying to budget well. There are cheaper photographers out there but you honestly get what you pay for. We loved Emily and Bobby from the first time we met with them. They were very relaxed and made us feel comfortable. We were very impressed with our engagement photos. It was a winter shoot and there wasn't a lot to work with but they made them amazing. Any time we had to contact them they were always quick to reply and answered any questions we had. On our wedding day everything was stress free. They are very organized and are wonderful at what they do. We had an amazing wedding day and could not have asked for 2 better photographers to capture the memories. They make the even smallest moments so beautiful. I do not have enough nice things to say about Emily and Bobby. We will be using them in the future!

One piece of advice that I kept hearing from former brides when I got engaged was to pick the best wedding photographer available. I took the advice and hired Emily & Bobby...and let me tell you, it was the best decision I could have made! Emily Porter and her husband Bobby (affectionately known as the Oberports) are top tier wedding photographers. Even though we felt awkward at first (hey, we're not used to being photographed professionally!), they were both super relaxing and easy to get along with. We received some great shots back as a result. Some photos are on the more artsy side and some are more traditional with a mix of posed and unposed shots. We found a wide variety for our album.
Honestly their work speaks for itself. Emily and Bobby's work is featured prominently time and time again in the West Virginia Weddings magazine. Would highly recommend!

Since the day I had my senior pictures done by Emily, I knew I had to be an Emily Porter bride. Bobby has added so much greatness to an already incredible photography company. For my simple ring ceremony and reception, Emily and Bobby made my backyard look like a perfect, green dreamland. They caught the moments in between the big events and made them beautiful: my husband Cameron tentatively looking up at the sky wondering if it would rain, the precious four inches of mud on my dress when the ceremony was through, a plastic luminary bag catching fire and the laughter that followed, the flower girl sharing her bag of Skittles with the ring bearer while clutching her teddy bear for dear life. Mainly, they gave us the gift of being able to look through these pictures again and again and remember how sweet that day was. The details they captured are things that would have otherwise been forgotten after a few years. Emily and Bobby are lovely to work with, and we couldn’t be happier with our photographs.

I don't know if there are enough good things to say about Emily and Bobby. My husband and I got married in a remote town outside of Rome, Italy, and Emily and Bobby were the only photographers we wanted to work with after seeing their portfolio and we were lucky to have them travel across the world to document this unique experience.
They are absolutely wonderful to work with for so many reasons. They are personable, flexible, responsive, and most importantly, a lot of fun to have around. They never pressured us to take shots we didn't want and found ways to work in challenging situations. They are incredibly passionate about what they do and that passion shows in their work. They are true artists and managed to capture so many intimate moments throughout our wedding, of not only the bride and groom, but of our guests, and the multitude of details that made our special day what it was. My husband and I love to look through our photos time and time again to catch all of the intimate details that Emily and Bobby captured of that day - a loving glance, a mother chasing her young son as he playfully escapes from her, a father and a son acting as mirror images of each other, a family's loving embrace as they honor someone special... there are countless images that Bobby and Emily have captured on film so that those fleeting moments are now forever etched in our minds as permanent memories. They are storytellers and true visionaries, and it was our honor to have our day documented by these two brilliant photographers.

It's 8 months after my wedding and I still can't stop looking at the photos Emily and Bobby took of our wedding day. The photos are perfect and mean so much to me. I believe their photos are a work of art. They manage to creatively capture the true feeling of the moments in their photos. When I look back at the photos they took I feel like I am taken back to that moment because their work is so great. Emily and Bobby are the best at what they do--their work always impresses me and exceeds all expectations. I was a little sad we didn't video tape our wedding until I saw the amazing pictures that Emily and Bobby took; their photos are all I need. I feel blessed that they photographed our big day.

it didn't take us long after finding emily and bobby's website to know we wanted no one else for the wedding. we were pleased from the very beginning about the level of communication, professionalism, and creativity, and certainly weren't disappointed with all the final products. they even traveled to boston to do our engagement shoot, and the photos turned out amazing. we couldn't recommend them more highly and feel new brides would be hard pressed to find anyone with their level of talent and professionalism in the area.

Emily and Bobby took the most stunning and beautiful pictures inside and outside at my wedding, during the daylight and night. Every picture looks like something out of a magazine, and they caught pictures of the most special moments (all the obvious ones of course, but then all the random spontaneous ones too). They are the most professional, thoughtful and creative photographers I've come across, as well as being wonderful people, and I would recommend them wholeheartedly, without any reservations.

I do not know where to start with writing this review. Not only are Emily and Bobby wonderful, thoughtful, creative photographers, but they are just all around wonderful people. They are so easy to get a hold of and make communicating easy (which is so important with wedding vendors!). They have an eye for the details, and I am thrilled beyond words with our wedding pictures. I could have not asked for better wedding photographers. I love them so much I recommended them to my sister for her wedding and she is just as happy as I am about them! Emily and Bobby are the best!

Hello my fellow brides! I have tried writing this review about 6 times. I'm not even kidding. What do you say about people that have given you one of the greatest gifts you could ever hope for? Emily and Bobby not only have immeasurable talent, but wonderful personalities to match. I love the moments they captured for us on film. Well, digitally. It IS 2012, after all. ;) They are just the most incredible team and will make your day even more beautiful in the photos than you remember it being in real life! My love for these two goes so very deep and continues to grow every time I look at our photos. Which, by the way, is about every 10 minutes since we got them. EVERY bride deserves this feeling. Just as Emily and Bobby deserve a million stars, not a mere five.

There are not words to convey my gratitude for Emily & Bobby's role in our wedding. I knew that I wanted her to shoot my wedding before I even met the groom and never even considered a different photographer. She was the first vendor I contacted, and I was just so thrilled with the entire experience we had with Emily Porter Photography.
Our wedding took place when a large portion of our area was without power, and, based on the photos, you'd never even know (save for a few stray branches outside the church). Emily made me feel calm, beautiful, and at ease in front of the camera, and I love her for her beautiful work and for the awesomeness she exudes from the inside out.
Emily and Bobby were great to work with. They have kept in contact with from the initial email to when my pictures were completed. They were easy to get ahold of if I had any questions. They are some of the sweetest, fun people my husband and I have ever met!
Their approach to picture taking is unique for both engagement and wedding. They captured some really great moments that I would not have even thought of that look magazine worthy!

Emily and Bobby were truly incredibly. When we look at our photos, it looks even more magical than we remember. They truly captured my husband and I in our happiest and most precious moments. Of everything involved in the wedding, the photography was absolutely our best investment. After having our photos taken for our engagement session, we felt perfectly comfortable in front of the camera. We were able to completely enjoy the evening and Emily and Bobby worked their magic. Emily and Bobby were professional and friendly. Most importantly, their photos are incredible. I would recommend them to anyone.

Emily and Bobby were professional from start to finish. They move quickly but get absolutely stunning shots. They recognize the importance of the day and all the proceedings. They are friendly and affordable and quite possibly the best vendor involved in the entire process. My wife and I worked with many many people as we planned and paid for the entire thing. Emily Porter Photography was hands-down the best vendor to work with. They will forever be a part of our amazing day. They truly did the most outstanding job.

Honestly, the pictures speak for themselves! Emily and Bobby drove all the way to Old Town Alexandria on New Years Eve and stayed calm, professional, and fun until the early morning hours for our wedding. There was a bit of stress when Emily first came to the hotel we were getting ready at and she continued to reassure me that it was fine we were running behind schedule and instead of getting worried about it we were able to sneak in more time during the reception to get some absolutely amazing pictures. We had so much fun working with Emily and Bobby both at our wedding and engagement shoot. The pictures we've taken and seen are so personal and thoughtful and they really made us feel like friends, a great photography team that we can't say enough good things about!

When I was researching photographers for my big day, a friend referred me to Emily. When I went to her sight I kinda had the moment, you know when you try on your dress and know it's the "ONE?" Yeah that is the feeling I had when I looked at Emily's work. She is so great to work with, makes you feel very comfortable. Your day goes so fast, so great photos are a must, and if you want your best MOMENTS captured, Emily is perfect. LOVE HER!!!!

Emily and her husband Bobby work together as a team, and together they so beautifully captured our wedding day, that there is no price tag that I could ever place on their work. It was worth EVERY penny!! Every photo I have seen reflects my husband and I and our wonderful day so perfectly. They capture the moment, and they make it real, and very beautiful. Their work has a definite artistic flair, but not in sepia, or filtered way, but rather with a high focus on composition and natural beauty found in the every day. Emily and Bobby are both incredibly talented. They are personable, and I now call them great friends. They made us feel special and unique in so many ways. On the wedding day, I was never interrupted by a photo or a flash, yet they captured it all. Somehow they even managed to get my 40 person family all arranged for a nearly impossibly group shot. Emily and Bobby make the day about the bride and groom. They got to know us well at our (included) engagement shoot, and made us feel at home and comfortable in front of the camera on our wedding day! The best money we spent on our wedding was for Emily Porter Photography!

Well if you read the other reviews you can obviously see Emily is amazing! If you are considering her for your wedding, you will not be disappointing. The thing I loved most about Emily's "eye" is that regardless of what "style" you are she is able to capture that. Looking at her photos you really get an idea of the essence of the subjects she is shooting. She totally captured my husband and I at our wedding! She is absolutely amazing to work with and will go above and beyond to help you in any way that she can! Amazing!!!!!!!

Simply put - Emily is AWESOME! We knew Emily when she lived across the street from us. As soon as my fiance proposed, I knew I wanted Emily to shoot our wedding. She has a great eye for shots and is so much fun to work with. I can honestly say, I never really noticed her shooting photos at our wedding. It was never "in your face". So discreet, but also friendly and professional. It was great to see her again since she moved away from us, so we did spend time catching up, which made the atmosphere even more comfortable. I love her love of colors and I'm so satisfied with what I've seen already - not even a week after the wedding! Thank you, Emily! Can't wait to see more!

Hiring Emily was by far the best wedding planning decision I made! I'm very self-conscious and hate being in pictures, but Emily made me feel beautiful and totally comfortable in front of the camera. I didn't meet her until 2 hours before my wedding, but I was instantly at ease with her. She posted teasers of our wedding TWO days after it happened, and they were stunning. The day Emily posted our teasers, my brother texted me, "Emily Porter ROCKS," and I think that pretty much sums up my feelings for her as well. Hire Emily, you won't regret it. Oh, and she's willing to travel for a small price, so it was no problem having her shoot my SW Virginia wedding.

The first time I saw Emily's online portfolio, it gave me chills. The first time I saw the proofs for our wedding and engagement photos, I cried. I haven't even seen all of our wedding photos yet, but I've been ready to give Emily the highest rating possible since we got our engagement photos done last May! Her photos are simply amazing! She needs no direction, shot lists, coaching, or anything like that. I literally told her where to be, when to be there and that was it. She is great at making you feel comfortable in front of the camera which is essential if you want great photos. Emily is amazing and she was one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding!

I recommended Emily to all of my friends--I didn't need to say much because her portfolio says it all. The vibrant colors, details and expressions Emily is able to capture makes her photography whimsical and always original.
As a hobby photographer, my biggest concern was being awkward in front of the other end of the lens--No way! Emily eased my anxieties and turned our session into just an outing between friends. Photography is her passion and combined with her playful personality, Emily is able to capture genuine beauty and emotions in her photographs. Snagging Emily to photograph our wedding was probably the best decision that we made!

Emily and Bobby both have amazing instincts, so you come out of your wedding day with unique and beautiful shots instead of Pinterest recreations. Truly fantastic work! Everyone raves when they see photos from our September wedding. On the business side of things: communication was excellent, they are so flexible, and payment/account management was a cinch. Highly recommend! :)

I don't have all my photos back yet, but am confident that hiring Emily and Bobby was one of the best decisions we made. The images they create are of the day as you fondly remember it, and they are able to capture moments that you weren't even awared of at the time. Now that I understand what a whirlwind the wedding day is, I'm so glad we hired someone that I trust completely to have captured all of it. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again and to recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.

Emily and Bobby are so wonderful to work with!!! They are true professionals who are so talented at capturing such wonderful memories from your wedding day. They were always very responsive to our emails and questions. They had great formats for helping us realize what type of photos we wanted captured on our day. They had great suggestions for outfits to wear for our engagement photos. They were very thorough in showing us examples of their work which helped us make the decision to go with them. On the day of the wedding, they had a way of blending in so you didn't even notice them taking photos. We couldn't have been happier with our wedding photos! They were perfect! My father-in-law even got teary-eyed going through all the pictures. We would highly recommend Emily and Bobby for your special day if you are looking for wedding and reception photos which are not just beautifully done, but also artistically done.

Emily and Bobby are an incredible team that made our whole engagement/wedding experience awesome. They were super flexible with the engagement session and worked with us with weather and our crazy puppy to make things smooth and the photos are incredible. We just had our wedding this past weekend and are anxiously awaiting to see the photos, but they were so amazing to work with. They kept everything running smoothly and I love that they don't set you up and pose for photos (besides the elected family formal shots) These photos are truly something that our families will always treasure and I am so glad that we had such awesome people to work with!! Definitely highly recommend using them!
