Amazing venue with just as amazing staff!

I recently had the pleasure of working at the Opal Key Resort and Marina. From the start the breathtaking views really give you that perfect Key West feel. Upon arriving the staff was extremely helpful with coordination, in particular the venue coordinator Allison was amazing to work with. She was extremely helpful with any questions or needs leading up to the big day, and then during the wedding itself she went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and that all vendors had everything they needed to make the brides and grooms big day perfect! Couldn’t recommend this venue or Allison more, and very much look forward to celebrating here again with future brides and grooms !

Unbelievable Experience

My husband and I had the most amazing wedding here. It was everything we wanted and more. Jackie was the ABSOLUTE best and she tackled all of our crazy questions and requests. We are both chefs in the industry which can be a blessing and a curse and Jackie made everything perfect.

Above Average Service Promised & Delivered!

Jackie Herndon @ Margaritaville/SSK was a pure joy to work w-. She was professional, patient, prompt & cheerful. Jackie was a calming presence on a stressful day & delivered everything as promised. When a potential issue arose, Jackie came to us w- the solution without skipping a beat. My daughters wedding experience on SSK was top notch & beyond outstanding! Five stars, hands down!

Best Venue...hands down!!

We randomly and when I say randomly... I mean randomly from our couch in the state of Oklahoma decided to check out this venue for our potential destination wedding. My (now) hubby decided to reach out to the team at the resort and inquire about having our wedding here...the team made it SO easy for us and we easily decided to have the wedding here. Jackie and Jennifer were so patient with us (especially with the thousands of emails that we sent them) and really helped us out so much with making our destination wedding perfect and easy. Not only did the staff make it an amazing experience for us...everything was absolutely beautiful! We chose the package where we had our ceremony at sunset key, sailed around in the catamaran for our cocktail hour, and had our reception on the sunset deck and I really believe that this was the best package out there!! I would recommend this venue and this amazing team to anyone looking to get married in the Keys! We are so thankful for you all, thank you thank you thank you for making everything so perfect for us!!

Jennifer Levering and her catering staff were amazing, We got married early June, 2016 and the weather was horrible, It rained non stop for days before out wedding day. Our back up plan was on hold till the morning of. In addition we had changes in the number of guest. No change was a challenge for them and everything went smoothly. All of our guest have raved about the food and drinks. Everything was spectacular. If your planning on having a wedding of any size it is not challenge for Margaritaville Key West.

We had our wedding reception on the Westin Pier. It was the most perfect venue I could have ever asked for. The view is always stunning, the weather was amazing and the food was to die for. All my guests had a blast, took beautiful pictures on the water with sunset and danced the night away. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding day.

The only downfall was that the Westin is the strictest venue on the island. It made it difficult to get all my vendors approved which caused more stress then needed. In the end everyone was approved and it was a magical evening.

The food is seriously the best on the island and thats a known fact. We had buffet style and everything was soooo yummy!

We worked with Erin Leon who is very professional and goes by the books. She responds to all emails and calls immediately and worked with me for a year of planning.

I highly recommend this venue if you want fabulous food, the best view on the island and the best night of your life!

I cannot say Thank You enough to Jennifer and this wonderful venue. My husband and I made a trip down to Key West to check out almost all the Venues on the island. We made a spreedsheet. Yes we are those people. The value for the money was the Westin, the best views were the Westin, the experiance at the venue tour was the Westin and the best part they were dog friendly. From the moment we decided to book them them they have been incredible. We had our ceremony on the Pier and our reception on the Sunset Deck. We knew we made the right choice when we booked the Westin but after hearing how much our guests loved everything about the wedding, esp the location and the food, we knew for sure that we were right. Thank you again! You guys are the best!

We had our reception at the Sunset Deck at the Westin in Key West, and it was absolutely perfect! I am so happy that we chose this venue -- the food was amazing, Jennifer is amazing, and we had TONS of guests tell us that it was the most beautiful wedding venue they'd ever seen. I highly recommend choosing this, and especially the Sunset Deck.

We enjoyed staying at the Westin in Key West. The location was great! We were able to watch the sunset every night from the balcony. The facility has a pool perfect for swimming and lounging around. The hotel is quiet even though it is close to unlimited nightlife opportunities. We also enjoyed the 24 hour workout facility. They have a variety of equipment to use.

The staff is wonderful. We are kind, helpful and went the extra mile without being asked. We took advantage of them offering to hold our bags until we were ready to go to the airport after our check out time.
We will definitely make reservations here again.

The team at The Westin is unbelievable! Erin was our catering manager and I honestly don't know what I would have done without her. She ALWAYS was available via email or phone from beginning to end, and knows so much about the venue and food, you won't ever have to worry. She is so much fun to work with, and is always one step ahead of you. Nothing beats the view at this venue - it is truly the best spot on the island to watch the sunset. The food is AMAZING - our guests still talk about it - especially the bacon wrapped shrimp - YUM! Also - the service at the Westin is top notch. You totally are getting what you pay for here...if not more. From the bartenders, chefs, waitstaff, etc. everyone was beyond helpful and respectful. Many thanks to the Westin team for making our day perfect!

Incredible food, staff and atmosphere! Latitude's was the perfect place for dinner after our wedding when we eloped to Key West. They gave the two of us the best table in the house (on the beach, that is), and the staff went out of their way to make the evening special and romantic!

Wedding and reception were on the pier. It was absolutlely beautiful! Had many guest tell me it was the most beautiful wedding they've ever attended.

I wish I could give them a 10 of out 5 because they made our rehearsal dinner a truly fabulous and once-in-a-lifetime experience for us and for our guests. Perfect place to watch the sunset and enjoy amazing food and drink - our guests are still raving about the "best mojitos they've ever had." Erin helped make all of the arrangements for us and she was very flexible in incorporating our personal touches and making great suggestions. Very luxurious and fabulous place, but still a great value. Highly recommend!

We chose to plan our wedding across the street at the Audubon House through the services at the Westin. Erin and her team did an exceptional job catering our event and ensuring that every guest was taken care of. The food was amazing and all facets from set-up to take down went smoothly. We could not have asked for a better day and appreciate the work all of our vendors put in to making it perfect.

Erin, Lourdes, and the entire staff at the Westin were professional, responsive, flexible to our needs, and made our entire wedding weekend an overall wonderful experience! The setting was beautiful, the food and drinks were tasty, and the service was impecable! Even when I made a last minute request for some Tabasco sauce, it was immediately delivered to my table. I would recommend them to anyone! (sorry for all the exclamation points, but I am really that happy about my experience)

The Westin Key West was phenomenal. Erin McLaughlin and Lourdes were beyond helpful! Everything was perfect! The ceremony was gorgeous and our reception was fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious. I could not have asked for anything better! Thank you agian Erin & Lourdes!!!!

I can not say enough good things about the Westin! It made our wedding perfect! We worked with Kate Bentley with Happily Ever After and she coordinated with the Westin accordingly. We were lucky to get our wedding date only two months in advance due to a cancellation and it all worked out perfectly! We chose our menu, had a tasting at the restaurant, and received a great walk through and stay at the resort prior to the wedding -- with an incredible upgrade! We had our reception on the boardwalk and we had perfect weather for a perfect day (but also enjoyed the peace of mind knowing that the ballroom was reserved in case of rain). I would strongly recommend it! Also, we chose our menu from the banquet menu with a mix of open and cash bar which made the Westin incredibly affordable, much more so than other options we considered! Additionally, the downtown location was perfect for all of our guests and made for not only a great day, but a memorable wedding weekend!

We had our ceremony at Sunset Key & our reception on the Westin pier.I can't begin to say how happy I am of what a great job Westin, Sunset Key, and their staff (Erin!) did leading up to and the wedding day! My husband and I had such a great experience. The food was so yummy and the details were all taken care of. I didn't have to worry about a thing!

I highly recommend getting married at the Westin, especially Sunset Key. That just made it past perfect! It has to be one of the most beautiful places ever. I would do it all again in a heartbeat!

The Westin Pier was an amazing location for our ceremony. The staff did a great job with set-up and keeping on-lookers out of the way. The food and waitstaff were amazing. It was a little more expensive but being a foodie it was well worth the extra expense. We were also upgraded to a beautiful suite for the weekend!

We got married in Key West over labor day. We had our ceremony on Sunset Key (a Westin property), had our cocktail hour on the Sebago Catamaran, and our reception on the pier at the Westin Key West Resort & Marina. We could not have asked for a more beautiful back drop. The venues were beautiful, the food was outstanding, and the service was great. My guests had a very good time and kept commenting on the venue. They loved the catamaran for cocktail hour and the beach on Sunset Key was perfect and private! I highly recommend this option. The only small compliant was there was no wind movement on the pier during the reception so we asked if they had any fans that could be brought out. We were told the hotel did not have any. In hindsight, I should have rented fans from our tent vendor, but never even thought of it. Everything else was fantastic and I would have done it the same way all over again. Jessica was our event manager through the Westin and she was very good. She got us a lovely room upgrade as well. I would recommend this venue to anyone getting married in Key West.

After some intial heartache and misunderstanding about costs and options. The westin was an abousolutely fantastic place to get married. Erin and her staff were responsive and helpful. The food was amazing and locations was fantastic!

The Westin and the staff ere amazing and helped to make our day a success. Tony Wood was very helpful and organized. He answered all of my questions in a very timely manner. I would highly recommend the Westin for your wedding venue.

What a beautiful location for our dream wedding! We picked it soley based on finding the perfect type of venue that we had always wanted. The food was amazing and I received so many compliments on "never having had such good food at a wedding before." Erin and Lourdes were incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. The only "complaint" I have is that there wasn't much discounts offered in terms of parking and hotel accomodations considering how much the venue itself was costing us.

We came in on a Crusie Ship and we were married in Key West on Sept. 26/12... I wanted to have a small luncheon for my guest before getting back on the Ship...I had found Bistro 245 ( At The Westin) a couple of weeks early. I was given the Managers name to call and Make a Reservation.
I spoke with Brandon the Manager the 1st time I called and he was great he set us up exactly how and where I had asked! :) Thank You so much Brandon
The Day of our Wedding everything was there waiting for us as planned..It is a lovely location..the service was good..The food was good..The prices were high and the 18% gratuity a bit high??..I thought standard grat was 15%?? We most likely would have tipped 20% for good service but the 18% was a little off putting.. However it was a small Wedding Lunch at a Perfect location.. Thanks again To Brandon the Manager for making sure we were taken care of! :)

The Westin had a beautiful view and outdoor space for our wedding and sendoff breakfast. The food was delicious for both events, and the staff was super nice. We worked with Erin who coordinated catering and venue, who was very nice and pretty flexible on the food choices. The Westin provided champagne and chocolate covered strawberries as a wedding gift, which was a nice touch.

The cost for buffet (Fantasy Feast) was $176/adult; $161/young adult; $32/children under 12 and vendors. We also purchased a desert station for $18/person. The sendoff breakfast was $34/person. You will also pay about 31% for taxes and service.

But, there were a few things that were frustrating for us (as reflected in the Professionalism, Value and Flexibility scores): 1) we upgraded our liquor to the maximum package and added an additional hour of open bar for a total of 5 hours, and they charged this upgrade for teens because the contract states that teens are priced $15 less than the adult, which obviously doesn't make sense; it should have been $125 instead of $161/teen. 2) we weren't provided a bridal party room during the wedding. 3) we booked two honeymoon suites - and the bedrooms were not spacious enough to accommodate the bridal party during wedding preparation. 4) during the sendoff breakfast we were caught by a storm and were not moved from outdoors to the restaurant for the last half hour or so of the event. 5) the wedding ceremony started off a bit rough because the Disney cruise was pulling out from our pier (honking their horn) as our wedding was starting. 6) better packaging and storage for the cake top is needed because it wouldn't fit in their mini fridge and it became a real mess.

The Westin Hotel in the Key West was the only disappointing part of my wedding day. I stayed here the night of my wedding and I was looking forward to it for months. When we booked it we told them it was for our wedding night and were told it would be decorated and we'd get champagne. I chose the Westin because I always heard it was one of the nicest hotel chains and that their beds are supposed to be amazing. It was hard to convince my husband that all that was worth the $800 price tag but he finally agreed since it's a once in a lifetime thing. The bed was nice but when we arrived late at night after our wedding, there were no roses, no champagne...nothing. We were way too exhausted to have them get it ready while we we waited outside so that was that. We paid extra for an ocean view suite but when we woke up in the morning we saw that it was facing the cruise ship port so we couldn't even see the water. The room wasn't dirty or anything but it should be $300/night not $800. Our $200/night BnB we stayed at in the Caribbean during our honeymoon was way fancier and nicer which made us feel even more ripped off.

The Westin Key West hosted my wedding off-site (catered but not at the hotel venue - used their ballroom for backup). While the 4 hours of the wedding itself went off pretty smoothly and overall I was pleased with the event (good food, no snags at the event), certain elements of customer service before and after were amongst the worst and most disrespectful I've ever received. (Certain elements before were fine - a nice tasting, and pretty responsive on email). And I've traveled a lot and experienced a lot of different hotel based service. Moreover, this was a situation where I spent tens of thousands of dollars on a wedding, and my guests spent tens of thousands of dollars on rooms!! The hotel staff should have gone out of their way to provide attentive, or at the very least, polite and respectful customer service. But they did the exact opposite of that - causing the bride and groom tears and fights (with the hotel) and huge amounts of stress in the days prior to and following the wedding. If you're considering using them for a wedding caterer or host site - you should think twice. Or at the very least, you should expect non-supportive, non-responsive customer service for your experience. I also had several guests complain about their actual hotel experience and rated the Westin Key West poorly. Finally, corporate customer service at Westin, though initially responsive, didn't actually work to resolve the issue and the local customer service response was non-apologetic in tone and spirit.
