We had both our wedding ceremony and reception in the Emerald Room and could not be happier. Many of our guests have told us that it was the best wedding they have ever been to. Erin, Clay, Matt, Reagan, and the rest of the Makoy staff put in a lot of work to make everything run smoothly so that we and our guests could enjoy the day worry free. They were also a tremendous asset in making our personalized vision for the event reality. On top of all of that, the food is superb. We ended up with a bunch of leftover dessert not because we over ordered, but because everyone filled up on the fantastic dinner buffet and had no room left!

If you are debating whether or not to give this place a look, just do it. We didn’t regret it, and neither will you.

If you are questioning whether to pick the Makoy or not for your big day, DO IT!!! We had our wedding reception in The Emerald Room on 7/19/2025 and it was, simply put, the best day of our lives and that was in large part thanks to Matt Eder, Erin Pearson, and their team at the Makoy! From the day we met them when we were touring the venue, they were some of the most personable, accommodating, easy to talk to, and easy to work with people we've ever met! We knew immediately after we walked out the day that there was no other place to have our wedding other than the Makoy. We had ~250 people at our reception and our guests were raving about the fast service, both for plated food and at the bar, large portion sizes, and beautiful decorations and setup at the Makoy. Not only that, but throughout the wedding planning process, Matt was able to answer all of my millions of emails with questions in HOURS! We just can't say enough about how amazing the Makoy is and their staff there. Pick the Makoy for your big day, you won't regret it!

The Makoy - A Dream Venue !

From the moment we toured The Makoy in 2023, we knew it was the perfect venue for our wedding. It was the first venue we visited—and the one we instantly fell in love with. Affordable, elegant, and incredibly accommodating, The Makoy made every step of our planning journey smooth and memorable.

Their team was amazing to work with—special thanks to Matt, Adrian Clay, and Erin! You all truly rock. They listened carefully to our vision and helped bring it to life in a way that exceeded expectations. We chose to have both our ceremony and reception in the Emerald Room and highly recommend the “flip” setup—it was seamless and stunning.

The weather called for rain on our big day, but The Makoy had it all covered. They transformed the space into something even more magical than we imagined. I trusted them with the ceremony decor and our sweetheart table, and they absolutely nailed it. It was breathtaking.

Let’s talk about the food—delicious from start to finish! From the appetizers to the dinner, every bite was a hit. We had several tastings leading up to the big day, and they were so flexible and helpful in crafting a menu we loved.

To this day, our guests can’t stop talking about how magical and beautiful everything was. The Makoy’s touch made our wedding day unforgettable, and we are so grateful. Highly recommend!

Stress free wedding day

I didn’t have to worry about a thing on my wedding day except for myself. The decor and party favors were all set up for me, everything looked amazing, it was such a beautiful day. Would highly recommend!

Exceeded All Expectations!

Huge thank you to the entire staff of the Makoy, who particularly Matt, Erin and Adrian who made sure that our wedding went smoothly and everything was perfect. Everyone was so nice and helpful. It was so appreciated when there are so many things to keep in mind and so many tasks to cross off your list. They made everything so much easier! The way everything came together looked absolutely wonderful and exceeded our expectations by far. The decor was done so beautifully and we were very impressed. The food was amazing, the bartender was great and super friendly and every single guest made comments to me about how wonderful the event was and how nice the venue was. We could not be any happier with our decision to get married at the Makoy. It was absolutely perfect!!!

Do yourself a favor and choose the Makoy!

We had our rehearsal dinner and wedding at the Makoy. The staff were very helpful, accommodating and a delight to work with. The food was also excellent, we had the short ribs and teriyaki chicken. Regan, our day of coordinator was the absolute best. She made sure we had everything set-up how we wanted and was extremely attentive to our needs day of (especially the bride's!). I would highly recommend having your wedding here at the Makoy!

Couple - booked emerald room

The entire Makoy staff was excellent to work with! From the initial meeting, tasting, decor and final meeting everything ran smoothly. Staff was very responsive and sent reminders on upcoming payments which was very helpful. The food was great! They made sure day off ran smoothly and were very accommodating! I would definitely recommend them for any future event. I worked closely with Matt and Clay. Both were very great and they made it their priority to ensure our day was everything we envisioned!

Absolutely amazing

The Makoy Center staff went above and beyond to make sure our wedding and reception were everything we had always dreamed of. Clay and Matt and Erin are literal godsends with everything they helped us with. With Covid changing our plans (sometimes at the last minute) they were endlessly flexible and allowed us to move things around and made sure we were always taken care of. Our guests spent the morning after the reception raving about the food and how wonderful the event was. You will not go wrong choosing them!

Amazing team!

I wanted a venue that took care of everything so I could enjoy my daughter’s wedding and the Makoy center did not disappoint! From the first time we met with Matt a year ago to plan the event I felt fully confident in my daughter’s decision choosing them.
You have the ability to have a outdoor or indoor wedding if needed, there was what I called a “mock reception” where you come and taste test the food they offer which was ALL AMAZING! Matt is always available for questions and meets with you again close to the wedding to make sure everything is in place. They are SO ORGAINZED that there is no way you could forget a thing! The day of the wedding Clay met us at the door with carts to help unload everything you brought to add to the occasion. With his checklist in hand he goes over what you have and listens to what you want to do with it with suggestions himself that may I add is the way to go because he made the room look absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Now that it’s all over I am kind of sad that I won’t need to communicate anymore with them, ha, ha Everyone at the Makoy Center was extremely professional, helpful and friendly and gave my daughter a night to remember!

Fantastic wedding

The Makoy Center was wonderful. They anticipated my every need and took care of it with a smile and a can do attitude. The food was wonderful and the DJ got people dancing. I heard over and over again from my guests that this was the best wedding they had been to.

The Makoy Center was an absolute joy to work with! The staff is very professional and fun to work with at the same time. They go over everything in great detail to really fine tune what you want for your day. They make the process as smooth as possible. The venue was beautiful, and it's nice they set up everything so you can enjoy your big day. I would definitely recommend anyone to have their wedding here. 10/10 across the board!

The Makoy center is an affordable one stop shop for almost all of your wedding planning needs: ceremony details and supplies, lighting, catering, linens, decorations, and plenty of support! The over accommodating staff works hard make each unique detail of your BIG day a reality! They made our wedding planning stress free and went above and beyond to make us feel extra special on our day! Where do I start. WOW!! I cannot rave enough about The Makoy Center. Clay, Matt and my wedding coordinator Jacob were all just amazing. My wedding turned out beautiful. They all made sure things were right, that I was doing ok, and we were always on schedule. I was fortunate to have a pretty big wedding g after things had been lifted here in Ohio. ALL my guests spoke about how delicious the food was, how beautiful the venue was, and the room we were in the biggest room, Emerald made everyone feel comfortable because we were not crowded. I will definitely recommend this venue to anyone. Food, pricing and accommodations cannot top any other venue in Central Ohio. Clay, Matt and Jake thanks again for taking care of us.

Best Wedding Venue EVER

Absolutely the best staff I could have worked with! Through the planning process, day-before, and day-of I could not have had a more cooperative venue. I was planning my wedding from four states away, but they were helpful in scheduling meetings around my travel schedule. All I had to do was show up for the wedding, as I knew they were taking care of everything else.

And, THE FOOD!!! Hands down the best wedding food I have ever tasted, and I wasn't even planning on eating! Even a week after the wedding, I am still getting compliments on the venue, the staff, the bar, and the FOOD! Did I mention the FOOD??

COVID or not, The Makoy Center is without a doubt the best wedding venue I could have imagined, and they made my day truly unforgettable!!

Absolutely Phenomenal!!!

I'm late with my review but it's never too late to express the joy that Makoy gave me on my wedding day. I couldn't been more excited. Everything was perfect and even a year later our family still talks about how nicely it was planned and the beautiful venue. If I could do it all over again I would still choose Makoy. Halloween wedding

We could not have asked for a better place to have a wedding! Matt was extremely welcoming and responded to emails quickly! It's an elegant venue that was more than willing to accommodate and even improve on our quirky style. The staff even dressed up in Halloween costumes along with the guests. I have extreme anxiety and they took care of EVERYTHING. My officiant even said how great of a place it was. Major shout out to Stephanie, our event coordinator. Felt like i had known her for years. She made our day as perfect as could be, made sure groom didnt see bride before ceremony, relayed messages, took care of rehearsal, even had ALL 15 complicated center pieces packaged up and ready to go by the end of the night. I HIGHLY recommend her. She was just as excited about the day as we were and i seriously cant thank everyone involved enough for a great day

Amazing and perfect

Great place to have large gatherings. We had our reception here and it was perfect, food was amazing and they have many options to choose from. They help you every step of the way and pricing is very fair. Followed all COVID rules and guidelines. Place was super clean and staff was very friendly. A Night to Remember

Our family has now held two receptions at this venue. There really aren't adequate words to convey our gratitude with how outstanding the staff treated us and how perfect the evening was for our daughter and new son in law. Postponing and rescheduling a wedding was our worst nightmare. Thankfully, the staff here went Above and Beyond in accomodating all our requests, were always accessible, and made sure ALL CDC Guidelines were fully implemented.
The food was over the top, and guests went up for seconds and thirds. Kudos to the chef, and also the kind and cheerful bar staff who kept the drinks flowing and everyone in good spirits. As guests said their goodbyes they had only the highest praise for the friendly staff and the way they interacted with our family and friends.
Never once, in all that went with having to go with the flow during Covid-19, was I treated with anything other than support, understanding, and a willingness to accommodate us by this staff.
I can't imagine a more beautiful venue or outstanding people to work with anywhere else in Central Ohio.

Thank you, Matt, Clay, and Erin for giving us the best night we could have dreamed of. You exceeded every expectation.

Very Highly Recommend

We had a great experience at The Makoy center. They helped us to have everything exactly how we wanted it. Our guests raved about the food and it was nice to already have a bartender with a stocked bar at the venue. Not only did they provide the venue, food, and drink, they also helped with set up and tear down, and we had a day of the wedding coordinator to help everything flow smoothly. I highly recommend

Best venue ever

The venue itself is beautiful but it’s everything else that made this experience perfect. Matt and the rest of the team were super helpful and accommodating even up till the day before the wedding with last minute changes. The real surprise came the night of the rehearsal when we met Jacob. We had no idea anyone would actually help us coordinate the wedding itself, let alone setup all the decorations we brought ourselves. 10/10 we love the Makoy Center and their staff!

Breath taking!!!

Best decision ever

Matt was absolutely amazing to work with. He made the process of getting married so smooth and simple. He even goes out of his way to be super helpful! My son had an allergic reaction literally right before the ceremony began. Matt ran off to the store and got him some medicine and my son felt better the rest of the night. Keely was super friendly and helpful as our on day coordinator as was the rest of the staff. The food was amazing and the buffet line went smoothly. I highly recommend The Makoy center for any wedding!

Beautiful reception hall with great customer service

We had a wonderful experience with the Makoy Center. Clay was so patient and accommodating throughout the wedding planning process. We had a large wedding with around 270 guests and the Emerald room was the perfect size. The room was beautiful and the Makoy Center took care of everything for us. Absolute perfection

This was a one stop shop to the linens and set up to cake and food! Jacob was an absolute delight to work with and made sure our day went off without a hitch. Amazing experience!!!

Words cannot tell how amazing working with Matt, clay and the makoy center staff was. They were such a great help throughout the whole process, we felt like they were part of the family. The Perfect Wedding Venue

My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Makoy Center on May 25, 2019 and it could not have been any more perfect! We had the pleasure to work with Matt who made the entire process so easy and smooth. From small reminders and working with our schedule since we were planning from out of state, to being there the day of to make sure everything was taken care of! I would definitely recommend this venue I've looked at over 15 different venues for the price the location and the all inclusive package it's a really great price. They were really flexible with my date I didn't get the date that I wanted so they gave me some extra perks for free. They were just so nice and welcoming and made it very easy. Don't judge the pictures before you actually go and look at the venue especially when it's all set up for a wedding or reception. I immediately wanted to say no because I was going for a more modern theme and based off of their pictures seemed a little outdated. However when I went there it was exactly what I wanted. The only downside of having a wedding during the day yes there are no minimums which is a perk but people can come & go if they're meeting with a staff member to potentially reserve their venue so if you're venues going on they might have meetings in their office which is right outside of the then you doors. They are super discreet though so it's really not a big deal. It was just more of an observation because there was a wedding just getting started and people were walking in as we went to go look in the venue I'm sure no one even noticed us again not a big deal.

The Makoy center was the best

I recently got married at the Makoy center. I can’t describe how amazing the experience was. We were told by numerous friends and family that it looked amazing. Leading up to the wedding Matt was always available and super quick to respond. He was always great leading us into the next step for preparation. Alex was our day of coordinator, and was calm, professional, and extremely helpful. Erin was there a little later in the day, and was really warm, friendly and helpful. I can’t recommend the makoy center highly enough. He venue and staff are 10/10. Your were all fantastic. Thank you.

Perfection

I cannot recommend The Makoy Center enough! We had the pleasure of working with Matt to plan our wedding. He was fantastic, listened and understood our vision for the special day and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. The Wedding of our dreams!

The Makoy Center was the perfect location for our wedding. We worked with Matt throughout the process of planning, plus we had Nick as our day of coordinator. Matt was great at answering questions quickly and with patience (I had A LOT of random questions through out). Matt was even present on the day of the wedding, which was very nice! Anything we needed, Matt figured out a way to provide it. I met Nick at the rehearsal and he took great notes of everything I needed, made sure the DJ and minister were all set to go with their plans, as well. Throughout the day of the wedding and into the evening, he and Matt continuously checked in with me and both sets of parents to ensure everything was going as planned. We are so beyond happy we chose the Makoy Center for our venue, there was zero stress, because they handled it all. They even packed up our decorations, so we did not have to worry about the night of our wedding! We also had our ceremony outside and Matt took the initiative to plant flowers and re-paint the fence and alter area to make sure it was beautiful and it was gorgeous! We also had our rehearsal dinner at the Makoy Center, which was amazing! The food both nights was so yummy!

Everything and More

The Makoy Center made our wedding everything we dreamed of and more. They made the day perfect, helped with every detail. The day was seriously so stress free and easier than we ever imagined. I have been telling everyone about it. I have been part of a lot of weddings and nothing has ever flowed that great. I'd do it again!

The Makoy Center is the perfect wedding venue!

Matt and his staff at the Makoy Center did an absolutely fantastic job catering to our every need, and making sure our wedding was perfect. From the food to the setup, we could not have asked for a more organized and beautiful experience. Matt did such a great job communicating with us, and answering our questions (and we had many) during the process of planning our wedding that when the day arrived we had no concerns about any issues during the reception, because we were confident they would be resolved if necessary without causing us any stress. They were even flexible with dinner service after we asked to shift the schedule a little bit the day of the reception. Matt and his staff never hesitated to accommodate our requests, even though it might throw off their normal routine. One of the best things about the Makoy center was the food. We attended multiple tastings, and were blown away by the quality and consistency of every dish we sampled. That same detail and preparation went into our wedding day menu. It was delicious, and all guests were served in an extremely fast manner. The buffet was convenient and a great option to accommodate our large guest list. Lastly, Matt was extremely helpful and cost conscious when working within our budget. He never pushed anything on us, or tried to talk us into spending more money. He and his staff focused solely on what we wanted, and we never got the sense that they viewed us as just another client, which is rare when dealing with a business that performs so many events. The price, service, and amenities at the Makoy Center blew away our expectations. If you’re looking for the perfect venue, this one is for you!

Amazing service

I held my wedding and reception here on 10/14/18. I can't express how awesome my wedding was at this venue! Everything went as planned and the employees were so helpful and patient. My guest were amazed by the décor provided by The Makoy Center and the food was delicious!Even though they were understaffed on the day of my ceremony, my day of coordinator made sure we did not notice. I have recommended this venue to many brides to be and hopefully The Makoy Center will make their day as memorable as mine. Thank you everyone!

A wonderful experience

When we booked with The Makoy Center we knew it would be the perfect venue for our day. Clay and Matt were welcoming and warm. They put all of planning worries at ease. Anytime I had a question they answered promptly and came up with the solutions we needed.

The tasting offered helped us sample the wonderful catering offered by the hall, and they were very gracious about bringing our two young, and energetic boys along.
We chose shrimp cocktail for our hors d'oeuvre. For dinner a mixed green and asparagus salad served with champagne vinaigrette, the crab stuffed cod, the marinated London broil, caramelized onion green beans, and herb roasted potatoes for our adult guests. And, for our younger guests we were able to offer chicken tenders, mac and cheese, and mixed fruit. They even accommodated our guests with dietary restrictions with chef's plates. The chef and staff did a flawless job in delivering and exceeding our expectations. The guests raved about how wonderful the food was. And, the service was impeccable. They even served our family made Greek pastry with great care and attention to quality.

Our day of coordinator did an excellent job setting up all of our decor for the event and improvising those little details we overlooked in planning. The room was gorgeous, I couldn't even imagine how perfectly our event would turn out, the reality was just breathtaking. Our coordinator was so attentive the day of, getting us anything we needed, keeping the flow of the event on track, and going above and beyond to assure that we had a beautiful memorable experience.

The signature cocktails were perfect, the bar was well serviced and all of our expectations were exceeded.

I would recommend The Makoy Center to anyone as an event space. They truly cared about our experience on our wedding day and it made all of it so special.

Making Dreams a Reality!

Let's be honest, if I could give a 6th star, I totally would! I don't think we could have had the wedding of our dreams if it wasn't for The Makoy Center and their staff. After touring, we were sold. It gave us our theme, allowed us to have the laid back feel we were going for and a pizza buffet! We were truly able to check off every box that we had on our wish list. Matt and Clay listened to every crazy idea I had and helped me to achieve it or find a solution. They helped us through every step of the process and offered ideas and suggestions when we were stuck. We opted to decorate ourselves, so we had the day before to make the space our own. We walked in to all the tables already in position, so all we had to do was add the centerpieces. They let us borrow pipe and drape to create a Photo Booth and ceremony backdrop. Our day of coordinator Nick was great! He made the night run smoothly and ensured my husband and I got dinner and drinks during the bust night! He even went along with a last second streamer photo and made it happen! They help clean up after so you can walk out with no worries about returning to clean the venue. So much love to Matt, Clay, Nick and the whole team at The Makoy Center for allowing us to have the exact wedding that I had pictured in my mind. I have told everyone that the wedding that came to life was the exact one I had imagined! Others items of note. The food is great! They made us speciality pizzas and even a custom BLT pizza! Because we are in the mid-west i'll just say it, the ranch is wonderful! The drinks are wonderful and the bar is large! The getting ready rooms are perfect spaces for both the Bride and Groom and their parties. There are so many spaces around for photos, both inside the venue and out. 10 Stars! Highly recommend! Seamless, efficent, and exceed expectations

I cannot thank Matt and his team at Makoy Center enough! From the first interview there was a great connection and I never once questioned my decision of using Makoy throughout the entire process.
As most brides know, the Venue can make or break a wedding, not only did it make our wedding; but it exceeded our expectations along with most, if not all of our guests. The venue was large and we had plenty of space, the food was absolutely delicious (tenderloin and au gratin potatoes), the bar’s variety of drinks was amazing and the bartenders were very efficient!
Most important the staff was out of this world. Matt works way too much and answered my crazy emails even after hours. I never once had to follow up with him, as he was on top of everything! Nick was also great, he kept me moving on my wedding day and never skipped a beat. Even after the wedding they boxed everything up so there was no clean up and we could just enjoy the rest of the night. They made our wedding seamless and anyone would be crazy not to use them!!!

loved everything about this place - perfect day

we loved the Makoy! we had our reception in the emerald room and it was perfect. the staff was great to work with from beginning to end. the fact that they help set up and tear down for you so you don't have to worry about it is 100% worth going with this place. many places don't do that.
the food was great and the venue was beautiful. many guests commented on the place!

We had a wonderful experience with the MaKoy Center! They take care of so much so that you don’t have to worry! Catering, bartending, and parts of the set up were included, which saved us time and money having to find and coordinate those services ourselves. The food and drink menu is EXTENSIVE and you really can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. We received so many compliments on the food and bartender! It’s great to know that the guests felt taken care of and that they had an excellent experience as well. We worked with Matt on all of the pre-wedding details (food and drink menus, timeline, color scheme, etc.) and working with him was so easy! He’s very personable and made the whole experience fun while getting the work done! He definitely made us feel like we were working with a friend. Nick was our day of coordinator and he was just as wonderful! He worked with my difficult table chart and nipickiness about the setup of the centerpieces and cake tables with such professionalism. I’m very detail oriented and he worked with me without making me feel a bridezilla! There were so many details I didn’t have to concern myself with which took away so much stress. It was great to be able to enjoy planning my wedding and I was able to do that because of the staff at The Makoy Center. It was worth every penny.

The Makoy Center went above and beyond for my daughters wedding. Everyone was super helpful and absolutely amazing every step of the way. Not to mention they helped with making sure the Burgundy room was available since that's where my husband and I got married 11 years ago. I would recommend this venue for ANY occasion. Makoy Center was very responsive and helpful during the wedding planning process. The staff at the Makoy Center were amazing! My husband and I sought them out a year before the wedding. Matt and Clay were with us every step of the way. The Makoy center was great to work with. We started with Matt, but we worked with everyone. Clay and all other staff checked on the groom and I (the bride) all evening. The staff was very flexible when we had to go from an outside ceremony to an inside ceremony. The room was set in advance and all my other vendors were able to set up with out issues. We only had our reception there but the whole experience was fantastic! Clay was very responsive with our questions and making sure our guest with food allergies were taken care of. The set up was gorgeous, the food was amazing, and the bar service/drinks were wonderful! The entire staff was attentive to our needs the day of and Clay did a fantastic job answering my numerous questions quickly and effectively. Absolutely love this venue and would definitely recommend them!

We celebrated my son's wedding here in May 2017. The staff was absolutely amazing and accommodated my every need and worry. The venue itself is very beautiful to have an outdoor wedding with reception at the same venue. I would recommend this venue for anyone that is looking for a AMAZING facility.

The Makoy Center is truly exceptional in every way. From the very beginning of planning to picking up our items the day after our event, everything was amazing. The staff is so accommodating and attentive, you can tell they really care about their guests and providing a phenomenal experience.

We worked with Mikaela during the planning process and she was so great at giving us all the details and options and trying to get us the very best deal possible. She was great at contacting us regularly, especially when we were difficult to get ahold of.

Clay was our event captain for the rehearsal and our actual event. We had our ceremony and reception at Makoy. Clay was a trooper when it came to our thousands of questions throughout the entire event. Clay and his staff were prepared for everything and the entire event ran seamlessly. We opted for casual seating and based on the way people sat, we needed an extra table set up last minute. The Makoy team had this setup within minutes. They did an excellent job setting up our centerpieces and photo booth and we were thankful for their help tearing down at the end of the night. I thought it was such a nice gesture that the staff made a plate for myself and nick from the buffet and carried it to our seats for us.

The food is AMAZING! Chef Aaron really out did himself with our appetizers and dinner. We heard tons of compliments on the baked chicken and au gratin potatoes and requests for the top round at future family functions.

Matt, the bar manager, did an excellent job with communicating with us throughout the night about our bar budget. Once our bridal party came in for the reception, he made sure we always had drinks in our hands. We had drinks delivered to our head table which was much appreciated.

I could go on and on about the special things this group did for us. Nick and I couldn't have asked for anything better.

We got married at the makoy center in August 2016. We chose to have an outdoor ceremony and the reception in the emerald room. We didn't end up having the ceremony outside due to the rain. But throughout the change, the makoy center was awesome! Ben was my main guy to work with on my wedding day and I would tell anyone to request him! Best experience ever!!

We had such a wonderful experience for our wedding reception with the Makoy Center. Mikaela and Katie helped organize everything, and they were so helpful and answered all of my questions promptly via email or phone. The night of the reception, Alyssa was our coordinator and Matt was our bartender, and they too were both excellent and friendly. We ended up in the burgundy room, and everything was beautiful! We had tons of space, beautiful table and chair decorations, and a great dance floor. I also have to compliment the chef, the food was delicious! I would highly recommend hosting an event here again, I have nothing but positive things to say and the people here are lovely. Thank you to everyone, particularly Mikaela, Katie, Alyssa and Matt.

We had such a great experience with the Makoy center! The staff was very attentive throughout the planning process- very quick when it came to responding to questions. We got married on a Sunday BUT it was a holiday weekend so we got a really good deal! Brides, I would highly recommend this if available.

Our day felt perfect and the reception was no exception. We booked the Emerald Room and had so many compliments on the venue. It was so pretty! We had one 1 small hiccup with the food; we ordered sausage gnocchi and received vegetable gnocchi BUT the staff went above and beyond to rectify it as soon as I brought it to their attention and our guests still raved about it. One of the best things about this venue was the food for sure. It was great not to have to worry about a caterer! We ended up having the vegetable gnocchi and London broil and both were fantastic- I'll say it again- everyone raved about the food!

Otherwise, we had ZERO problems the day of which is a relief for any bride. The staff was so attentive not only to my husband and myself but to our bridal party and my parents.

Probably the only con I can think of is that you cannot bring in your own alcohol so that part could get pricey. Honestly, compared to many other venues we looked into though, it really wasn't unreasonable and there are so many options they provide you with which is nice. And again, because it was Sunday we had no minimum which was great.

I would recommend the Makoy Center to any bride! :)

I had my wedding at the Makoy Center on 11/07/15 in the Burgundy Room. Throughout the entire process Kaitlin (our sales representative) was extremely responsive and prompt in answering our questions and getting back to my emails (and there were several!). The tastings they hold at the Makoy Center are also really great because you get to experience what the wedding will look and feel like. We wanted to have our ceremony and reception at 1 venue as we had a lot of out of state guests so we thought it would be easier on them. The Makoy Center was perfect for this. We had about 130 people in the Burgundy room and there was plenty of space for the ceremony and the reception. Robert was our event captain at the wedding and he was fantastic and on top of everything. He and the other staff really made our wedding run so smoothly and I didn't have to worry about anything during the wedding itself! Besides the great service the cost to have the wedding at the Makoy is extremely reasonable. There are so many options so you can really make it as expensive or inexpensive as you want but we were able to customize our food and other costs to be at a price we were comfortable with!I couldn't have asked for a better venue and all of my guests were very complimentary about the Makoy as well!

My now husband and I had our wedding reception at the Makoy Center's Burgundy Room on October 3rd and we couldn't have asked for a better evening. Everything was absolutely perfect throughout the nights and I can't find anything to complain about. Alyssa and her team were AMAZING and she calmed my "wedding weekend jitters" the moment we met. The food was incredible and the bartender, I didn't catch his name, immediately knew who wanted what kind of drink and he always had something prepared for my husband and I. All around, the service was on a scale of 1 to 10, 11! If you are looking for a reasonably priced venue that you won't stress over and that will take care of you 100%, the Makoy Center is the palce to be.

The sales coordinators (Mikeala and Katie) are great to work with and are flexible. Our day of Event Captain, Clay was awesome too! Food was good and staff made our day seamless!! Great outdoor photos!

The Makoy Center did an excellent job with my wedding! It was so nice to count on them for the food, ceremony, reception, set up and decorating, and tear down. Their staff was great to work with and did a phenomenal job. Alyssa was my event captain and she kept me calm and I didn't worry about a thing knowing she was there to help! Highly recommended!

Our wedding reception in the Burgundy Room of Makoy Center was everything we had hoped for. An amazing value, with the ability to choose menus or bar packages that fit your budget. Kaitlyn Katko was a wonderful associate who answered every little question promptly and thoroughly. The staff the night of the reception were great. The food was awesome, and you can sample menus at public tastings several times a year.

The MaKoy Center was a beautiful venue for our daughter's wedding reception! The staff was wonderful to work with, the room was beautiful, and the food was fantastic. We took decorations to them the day before the wedding and they were great to decorate the tables, and room exactly as we had requested. The room was comfortable, dance floor nice and big, bar and servers very nice, and parking was good. I would recommend this venue to anyone having a large wedding, event or gathering.

We just booked with The Makoy Center for our ceremony and reception, and they were great! They really worked with us to get within our budget without sacrificing what we want for our day. I would highly recommend it!

Kaitlyn Kayto was amazing help through the whole process. anytime i needed help with anything i called her and she had great recommendations. they stay true to your budget and are super flexible. We did a popcorn bar and they let us bring in all the stuff for the popcorn bar making it much cheaper on us. The bar is a little pricey, but no more than anywhere else. overall an amazing experience.

I loved my wedding here! Everyone was fantastic through all the planning and especially during the big day! They took care of so many details which made it easy for my family and I to just enjoy the day!

The Makoy Center was fantastic! I did two tastings with the venue (one with my mom and my mother-in-law, and the other with my husband) Both times the food was excellent and at the wedding it was even better! We were a little behind schedule after the ceremony due to a receiving line and they altered our schedule so that we had plenty of time to get pictures. I highly recommend this venue to anyone. The Emerald room is amazing and the transition from the ceremony to the reception was seemless. They made sure we had everything we needed and made sure our centerpieces were set up perfectly!

The Makoy Center did an excellent job of helping us plan our wedding. The staff is friendly and accommodating- we had several members of our family who had food allergies, were vegetarians, etc., and the catering staff went out of their way to make our needs met. When we arrived at the reception, we didn't have to worry about a thing!

Loved the Makoy Center. Kaitlyn was our service representative and she was provided great customer service. She actually recognized us whenever we stopped in to make a payment! For our reception, everything was set-up exactly the way we imagined things and I never had to worry about a thing--it was just taken care of by the staff. We received many compliments on the quality of the food when we chose the pasta buffet.

The Makoy Center was a most wonderful place for our wedding! Katlyn & Katie were terrific to work with during the planning process. Lisa & the rest of the staff provided top-notch service during our ceremony & reception. The day of the wedding, the Burgundy Room was transformed into a very elegant environment...I was floored at how beautiful it turned out!

Catering is usually a make-or-break item in any wedding & our guests were all complimenting the food. It was truly outstanding!

We highly recommend The Makoy Center to any couple looking for a wedding venue.

The Makoy Center made our wedding day a dream come true, really! Not only is the Emerald Room BEAUTIFUL, but the food was amazing and so was the service. We started out with Linda when we booked the room for 11/11/11 and finalized the details with Christina. She was just so wonderful and helpful. I was nervous about the timing of the guests getting there and wrote about a million emails to Linda, and each one was answered promptly and she promised me everything would work out, it did work out! I would recommend anyone to have their reception at the Makoy Center.

Pros: Quality service, delicious food, invitation to a "practice-reception" that shows you how it will look on your big day, the LIGHTING!, atmosphere, huge dance floor, extremely friendly servers and bartenders, big parking lot

Cons: somewhat hard to find/it's hidden behind houses that aren't well taken care of, a bit pricey (but worth every penny!)

Thank you Makoy Center! Our wedding reception was prefect thanks to you!

AMAZING!!! I could not have asked for a better ceremony and reception facility! The transition from ceremony to reception is so smooth and flawless. Christina was the one assigned to our wedding and she was fabulous. I can’t say enough good things about her. She came up and offered to go get me a drink because she saw that I had been talking, dancing, and too distracted to get a drink. She paid attention to details, she kept us on track, helped to pack things and keep things organized. When we came in from taking pictures she met us in the parking lot with water for me and A beer for Adam! Loved her! The food was amazing. We got lots of complements on the whole place and the food. We paid a small $50 fee for them to put up all our decorations (well worth it I would have paid 5x that). The facility was amazing, the placement of decorations was amazing and they packed it all up at the end of the night. The lighting was amazing (our DJ was really excited about the lighting). I do not have one bad thing to say about them! Probably the best vendor I had! A+++

The Makoy is definitely affordable elegance, their facility is amazing and was exactly what I was looking for. The food was great and I heard no complaints about anything, the facility was also very clean and the staff was amazing. Christina helped to make sure that everything ran smoothly and made sure that my husband and my every need were met. She definitely made our wedding day perfect!

The Makoy Center put on the perfect wedding for us. Each part of the day flowed into the next, and they took care of everything. The prices are reasonable and the site is great. The food is also delicious (my husband can't stop talking about the roasted red potatoes!) The Makoy Center is HIGHLY recommended (especially the Emerald Room).

Planning a wedding can be sometimes very overwhelming and hard but I found planning our receptions and ceremony very easy with the Makoy Center. Their staff was there through every step of the way. Not to mention the set up, food and site are truley fantastic! My wedding went as perfect as it could have been thanks to them. They were very prompt with calls, emails and getting things organized. They were always fleixible and very happy to help with changes, suggestions etc.

My day was truley the most amazing day and I have to thank the staff of the Makoy center for making it so perfect!!!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Makoy Center in the Burgundy room (~160 guests). It was absolutely amazing!. The staff is very attentive and followed my instructions down to the littlest detail. We chose to have them setup and dropped everything (favors, cardbox, rose petals, guest book, etc.) off the night before and also the day of. Everything was absolutely perfect! They even have an inhouse cake lady they use who is amazing as well. Linda is the main contact person once you have everything booked.... she is so helpful and incredibly organized and detail oriented.

Amazing service! They have strict timelines here, which was the only frustrating part when trying to get invitation RSVP's in, but other than that I would highly recommend this venue!

The staff at the Makoy Center was fantastic! They were very easy to work with and did everything they could to make our wedding day perfect. They were quick to respond to any questions we had via email or telephone. We researched many venues prior to choosing Makoy and none could beat the we received at Makoy. The staff helped with so much the day of the wedding, it was such a relief for us and our family! There are also many wonderful picture opportunities around the venue-- huge plus! We highly recommend this venue :]

I am the mother of the groom. I would highly recommend this facility. Everyone was helpful and efficient. My son's and daughter-in-law's wedding went very smoothly. These people really know what they are doing! They took such good care of us from beginning to end. They did things without being asked. Mostly behind the scenes stuff, so we could just relax and enjoy ourselves. Our (approx. 160) guests all remarked on what a nice place it was. If I could give higher than a 5 for responsiveness and flexibility, I would. I am very grateful, especially to Lisa.

Morning wedding

Our wedding was 04-06-2019 at the Makoy Center: Burgundy Room! Our main contact was Matt Eder, great customer service! Our coordinator for the day was Nick: great communication, catered to us while making sure the guests had a great time, made sure our special day was flawless. Would recommend to any one in ear shot! Our guests loved the food, the space and the location. Perfect!

We had our ceremony and reception at The Makoy Center in The Burgundy Room. The food was incredible! Everyone loved it! Our rehearsal ran smoothly and I was so happy they allowed us to set up the decorations. Mostly because I had a lot of mix and match pieces and wanted to arrange them personally before the big day. Leading up to the event, the staff was always courteous and helpful. They did make the mistake of putting on the wrong color linens but they fixed them immediately during our rehearsal. The day of was very well organized by our event coordinator, and the bar and wait staff was great too!

I cannot say enough good things about the Makoy Center in Hilliard! Though it has been 2+ years since our "big day" I will never forget the kindness and professionalism shown to us by the Makoy Center staff. They really do make Weddings their business, and know how to take a lot of the stress and anxiety off of a bride's shoulders! From our initial meeting to dropping items off the week of our event, we knew we were in good hands. The staff always responded to any phone call or message I left for them in a quick timeframe, and we could tell they really valued our business. On the big day, all the little details had been put in to place and the venue looked magical. I am admittedly a control freak, so I thought it would hard for me to "let go" of certain things and leave them to others to be accomplished. I could not have been more pleased with the way our reception turned out. On the actual night, I got to party with my family and friends and not once did I worry if something was as it should be - if anything went wrong, I never knew it! Special thanks to our event staff, from our "event captain" who made sure everyone at our reception was well served and having fun, to our servers, who all jumped in the photo booth with silly props to give us something to remember them by in our scrapbook. Also, both myself and my husband being from Hilliard, this is THE venure I would recommend if you are looking in that area - parking is a breeze, there are beautiful indoor/outdoor locations for photos, and several different sized rooms to accomodate a party of any size. Go with Makoy - worth every penny!

We had our reception in the Emerald Room with about 170 guests. A friend of ours got married a couple years before we did, and her reception was here also. After attending her wedding, I knew that this was where I wanted to have our reception. The Makoy Center was excellent throughout the entire process. They were flexible with us down to the last detail: I'm a vegetarian, and they provided a separate meal for me, which was delicious! Also, we wanted to have the family dog make an appearance, which was no problem for them. We dropped our favors, flowers, place cards, centerpieces, and decorations off on the morning of our wedding, and everything was perfect for our reception that evening! Linda is organized and easy to work with. Clay, our contact for the evening, was fabulous too. I highly recommend the Makoy Center!

With being a Mobile DJ and owning my own Mobile DJ Company, I am proud to say that this venue is really amazing. I was the Entertainment for a wedding back in January of 2015. The wedding took place in the Emerald Ballroom and was easily accessible to load in my equipment. I was setup on the stage and was surprised that a 6' table had been setup and ready for me. Since my system requires a table no bigger than 4 feet long to accommodate my setup; I was amazed with the promptness and flexibility they had to be able to take down the table and allow me to use my personal one. The Bride and Groom had invited me to eat that evening as well. The food was great. The tables and chairs were setup in ways I was able to interact with the guests before I had dismissed them for dinner. Since the Makoy Center has led wash lighting in house for the dance floor, it was very hard to see the lights the Bride and Groom booked with my company. The lights aiming down on the dance floor were also grouped with ones aiming on stage where I was setup. This made it very hard for me to see the guests from the stage. So, in all ratios, yes, I would highly recommend this venue.
