Courtney was really professional and very attentive. Patty was my stylist and she did an amazing job not only for myself but also for my bridesmaids. Plus she was quick! Took one look at my inspo pictures and made my dream come true in less than 30 minutes, and my hair lasted all day. -

Several weeks after my wedding and I am still so impressed with the work from The Makeup Team! Patty, Diree and Alexandra were extremely patient and hardworking with our large group - I think 13 of us? Everyone looked stunning and more importantly, felt beautiful and confident all day. We had 3 artists for our group of 11 people do our hair and makeup for my daughter's wedding which was the perfect number- we began at 10 AM and finished by 2:00/2:30. Nico for makeup and Brooke for hair were amazing! So flexible, kind, and calm (which we all needed on a busy and exciting day) and they did beautiful work and listened to what each girl wanted. Nico did our makeup and was fabulous- we all looked like ourselves but glammed up. Brooke offered suggestions if we asked her how to get the best look we wanted- she was efficient with her time but did not rush us. Our hair looked great all night! -

Wedding Hair and Makeup for Bridesmaids and Mothers
A huge thanks to Nico, Hiba, Ashley and Erin for coming to Emerald Isle, NC for our daughter’s wedding. The team worked quickly and made every bridesmaid and the Mothers look like Movie Stars with each individual personality and style!! There were 14 of us!!!! It was money well spent!! Thanks again. -

I absolutely loved my hair and makeup more than I could ever express and all of my bridesmaids looked stunning! The team did an amazing job and was very efficient with time. Most weddings I have been to it always feels rushed at the end of getting ready, but not this time! Every girl was so happy with their makeup & hair. It was a great experience. The team as a whole also communicated so well and answered any questions or concerns I had right away. I would truly recommend this team 1000% to anyone I know! I have never felt more beautiful!! -

Patty (hair) and Eliza (makeup) from the Makeup Team were incredible! They were prompt and so friendly and personable! When I had my trial they were very attentive to what I wanted and how I wanted my look to be. The day of, I had them do my hair and makeup as well as my matron of honor and my bridesmaids. They were super attentive, paying close attention to any areas of concern and what everyone wanted. My one bridesmaid wanted something slightly different than what she described. Patty smoothly adjusted it to perfectly match what she wanted. I’ve never felt so pretty! I got so many compliments and the pictures were great! They were both wonderful! I can’t brag on them enough! Thanks Patty and Eliza!!! -

This team KILLED it for my wedding. As an out of state bride I was kind of nervous about not being able to do a trial, but they quickly put my nerves at rest. My girls are I looked gorgeous and the team was so kind and the ultimate hype girls. RUN DONT WALK! -

We were thrilled with the hair services we received from The Makeup Team! Manning was the stylist for six of my bridesmaids and my mom and mother in law. She showed up late - ten minutes after she was supposed to start the first bridesmaid's hair - but that was the only complaint I had! Everyone's hair looked amazing and she stayed on schedule with eight people in line, which is hard to do. Their prices were reasonable as well. Overall was very happy with the service and would recommend to others! -

I searched long and hard for the right person to do my wedding makeup and from the very first time Courtney and I spoke, I just knew she was the artist for the job. I got married this past Saturday and it was extremely hot. Even through all the tears and massive amount of sweating I did, my makeup stayed on perfectly. There was no running or smudging, again absolutely flawless. I am extremely particular on how I like my makeup, Courtney was able to deliver the most beautiful look. I seriously couldn't be any happier with her. She is quick, efficient, caring and just an all around great person to work with on your wedding day. I strongly recommend her. Thank you Courtney for making my vision come to life on the most important day of my life!!! -

I met with her a few times before my wedding day for practice sessions so we could get the perfect look, I am really picky about my eyebrows but she did them better than anyone has! Patty and Eliza were awesome! I loved how my hair and makeup came out. Eliza was able to get 9 makeups done (inclusive of the bride) in a matter of 8 hours, super fast (!) while not sacrificing any quality. Everyone loved their looks. Also special shoutout to both who did a great job with different skin tones and hair textures. -

As the bride, I am particular about certain makeup and hair aspects and each artist made me feel comfortable and heard. Their affordability and quality make the Makeup Team a high value choice. We did hair and make up services for 9 girls on my wedding day. Everything went really well overall (make up was a little behind but we managed to make it work with the timeline). Everyone looked amazing and was pleased with both hair and makeup. Both ladies were very open and listened to girls ideas and visions and made us all feel so good for the day! -

Working with The Makeup Team was easy and convenient. There were a couple of times where information was lost in translation (we needed to reschedule the trial due to a conflict with the hair stylist and the makeup artist did not show up with an airbrush machine on the day of) but other than that, I enjoyed working with this team. The only other issue that I has was that my hair lost it's shape by the end of the night (and also got frizzy) so make sure you are up front with your stylist about your hair type/needs. -

Beware!!!!
Beware - their portfolio looks great, and they have a lot of 5 star reviews, but looks can be deceiving.
This is not a small group of trusted artists, they are employing freelancers and varying levels of experience, skill, and professionalism and it is a total crap shoot whether you are assigned a top level artist or a young, green unexperienced artist.
I got married about an hour away from my home in Raleigh, so they assigned Charlotte based artists to my wedding (which is understandable and I was more than fine with). I had to be the one to reach out and ask about a trial, and when that was finally scheduled my mom and I drove to Charlotte and stayed in a hotel room. After following up several times, Courtney let me know that she was having trouble scheduling the hair and make up artist (even though we'd discussed it several weeks prior and I was traveling and staying the night). She finally made it happen and told me the only way make up and hair could happen on the same day was if we started at 7:30 am, so I agreed. We got up, I showered, and even bought coffee for myself and the artist - 7:30 passed. 8am passed. I reached out to Courtney and she said she was unable to reach the artist. She finally got her on Instagram and said she was "sick" but was on her way.
The make up artist showed up around 8:45am (the hair stylist was scheduled to arrive at 9. She was very flustered, dressed sloppily, and her make-up kit was dirty and unorganized (she spent a lot of our time together digging around in her box, including using an open pack of eyelashes that was just floating around in her make up stained box). She had 2in stiletto shaped fake nails on, which she poked me in the eye with SEVERAL times while poorly attaching false eyelashes. I asked for a really simple winged eyeliner, full coverage make up, and a red lip, and I ended up looking like an insane version of Amy Winehouse. She missed my nose with foundation completely, the enormous eyeliner wing was smudged and the lipstick was applied so sloppy. She was in a rush and it showed. Since she was so late, the hair artist arrived and just started doing my hair without really doing a consultation first, and it was also sloppy and messy and not at all wedding quality. Barrel curls and a mess in the back.
I cried, and got over it, but I messaged the owner, Courtney, who was at least in agreement after seeing pictures that the work was NOT good and agreed to help me. She was kind enough to refund me for the trial. She sent the same hair artist for my friends and family, and I hired someone else to do my bridal hair. She did send a different make-up artist (Anna Grace Makeup Art, based out of Charlotte - HIGHLY recommend her), but we were unable to have a trial since it was so close to the wedding. Thankfully Anna really stepped up and had a call with me, send photos back and fourth, and really really nailed my final look as well as the looks for all my friends. I got what I wanted on my wedding day, but it did not come without unnecessary stress and anxiety.
TLDR; if you're ok with taking your chances, go with The Make Up Team and risk it. If you're looking for well-done, reliable, vendors, steer clear and hire an independent, freelance, or reputable artist yourself and skip the middle man.

I honestly do not understand how this makeup artist has 5 stars on here. I hired her for my wedding in May (against my planner's advise - so my mistake...) because of her 5 star rating online and gorgeous portfolio. However, she was hands down the worst vendor I worked with and my biggest regret from my wedding. First off, she was extremely unprofessional, difficult to communicate with, and unorganized. To summarize, she sent a different stylist than originally agreed, forgot airbrush makeup for my trial and my bridal luncheon, and then did a terrible job before dipping early on my wedding day.
When I originally booked with her, everything seemed great. She made a lot of mistakes on my quote, which should have been a red flag. But she responded quickly and we were able to work it out. I told her I wanted to do airbrush makeup and hair for me and all my bridesmaids. I paid the extra fee to have my choice of stylists because I wanted Courtney to do my makeup. We arranged to do the makeup trial while I was in Charlotte visiting my in-laws. Everything seemed good to go. Day of the trial, a very young girl shows up at my house, who is not Courtney. She was sweet, but seemed unexperienced. Also, she didn't bring airbrush makeup because Courtney didn't tell her. We went ahead anyways, because she was already there, and I live out of town, so I couldn't reschedule easily, but my makeup turned out YELLOW and my eyelashes went up to my eyebrows. I looked ridiculous.
I called Courtney the next day, almost in tears, because I was freaking out. She said she was very sorry for the miscommunication, and would do another trial with her and airbrush makeup for free. Okay, great. Maybe this will be okay, I thought. But then she calls me a week before the trial and cancels. She was planning to do my makeup for my bridal luncheon and rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding, so she said we could use that as a trial. I was hesitant, but don't like to be difficult so I said okay.
So morning before the bridal luncheon she shows up WITHOUT THE AIRBRUSH MAKEUP! AGAIN! I was annoyed. The whole point was for it to last the whole day from my luncheon through the rehearsal. She said that it would with normal make-up, but of course it didn't... And now I had to go into my wedding day without a proper trial. Also, she had no idea what kind of look I wanted, despite discussing it at length and taking the time to spend several pictures, as requested. Again, she just seemed so unprofessional and disorganized and I did not feel like I was in good hands for my wedding day.
Day of the wedding, she showed up and did my makeup and a couple of the bridesmaids, but then she said she was dipping and an assistant would be coming to do the makeup for the other girls. Who does that? It was so shady that she never told me about that was the plan beforehand.
Two stars because thankfully her assistant ended up being a thousand times better and so sweet. She fixed my make up and everyone Courtney had done. But because we had to do half the bridesmaid's makeup twice, we fell behind schedule.
Also, two stars, because the hair stylist did a decent job, but not great. I showed her multiple pictures and tried to communicate what I wanted, but she never figured it out. My hair turned out pretty on the wedding day, but not really what I wanted.
Long story short, have yourself a massive headache and look somewhere else. Don't be fooled for the studio edited photos like I was. -

I booked with the Makeup Team in hope I would get a high quality experience (especially with the prices). The day of my wedding was anything but high quality. Courtney the owner, mixed up the times and around 8:30am texted me to see if I could be there by 9am…of course, this wasn’t the plan and I said no because we had an hour drive. When I got there, I realized why she asked me to be there by 9..she told the stylist, 10-2pm for 5 people. (There we’re just two stylists) I made prior phone call meetings with Courtney to talk to her about the schedule ahead of time but it seems like I wasted my time because she did not have anything written down. I need the stylist to be there until about 4 but they were very adamant about leaving at 2. Everyone’s hair and makeup was rushed and not one person received what they wanted. The girls paid $200 and I paid $300 for bridal hair/makeup. Her reasonings for not getting a full refund was “I thought you look great”. I think I would be able to look past the hair and makeup not being what I wanted if the stylist were at least nice, respectful, and patient but they were nothing but rude, opinionated, and rushed. Fortunately, this was the only thing during our wedding day that was not good. I hate it had to be hair and makeup. Courtney attempted to make it “right” by giving me, the bride, a refund but none of the girls received anything worth more than $50. It was a disaster. I do not recommend them for your wedding. It seems Courtney is only in it for the money and not making customers happy. I was very disappointed. -
