Trial & Engagement shoot

I had an amazing experience so far with The Hair & Makeup Co! Kristina did my hair for my trial & Caity did my makeup and they both made me look and feel like so beatiful. I ended up booking them both for my engagement shoot and they were fantastic again! Both showed up early and made me feel comfortable throughout the whole process. Heather has been so responsive and a true gem to work with. I cannot wait to use The Hair & Makeup Co for the rest of my bridal events and wedding!

Great Choice

We chose The Makeup + Hair Co. for bridal makeup and hair for our wedding and they were wonderful! We worked with Heather to coordinate everything from trial to getting ready logistics (she was on top of it!), and she was the makeup artist day of and she was great! Kristina did hair for the ladies and it turned out excellent. They listened to exactly what everyone wanted for their look and delivered. We are very grateful that they were so timely and even had us all ready early with plenty of time for touch-ups - they were a great choice to go with for the big day!

Amazing experience!

I booked The Makeup and Hair Co for my wedding hair and makeup and I’m so glad I did! Kristina and Nadia were amazing and I got a ton of compliments on my hair and makeup throughout the wedding. They were professional, on time, and helped me decide what I wanted for my big day. Plus it stayed looking amazing all day. I also had them do my bridesmaids hair and makeup and they were so happy with their hair/makeup too! The process was so easy and Heather was extremely communicative and helpful throughout the process. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful Experience

Had the most wonderful experience with The Makeup + Hair Co for my wedding in November. Heather was amazing to work with - responsible, flexible, and knowledgeable. My makeup artist Caity was awesome as were both hair artists, Kristina and Claudia. My bridesmaids and I got a ton of compliments all day night. The artists gave me exactly what I wanted and were on time, professional, and super friendly!!

Perfect experience!

This company did my daughters wedding makeup in 2014 ( a great experience) and I used them to do my make up for a wedding event recently (I was a guest). Caity was excellent. She came to my house, asked great questions about what I wanted for my makeup, ( I’m 65) made additional recommendations and I couldn’t be happier!

Blown Away by Bridal Beauty!

It can be hard to find the right hair and makeup artist for your big day. Thankfully, in the age of Instagram, being able to see the final product makes a big difference. When scouting out different hair and makeup options for my wedding, I came across The Makeup & Hair Co. I chose them because 1) it was important for me to use vendors that were local and familiar with the area I grew up/was getting married (Bronx/Westchester) and 2) I loved the styles and looks on their Instagram! They were very fresh, natural and glamorous and I loved the way they showcased different aspects of the hair and makeup process on their Instagram: from trials to bridal prep to actual wedding photos showcasing the finished look. It really gave me a good idea of what they could do and see if it was a good fit for what I had in mind for my hair and makeup (vs. pre-social media where you’d call someone up and have no idea what their talents were, then have them leave you with 80’s hair and clown makeup!)

Heather Adessa Spadaro is the CEO and primary contact. She’s very responsive via email once you submit an inquiry and touches base with you frequently leading up to your big day. I had originally scheduled a makeup trial in August 2021 - which unfortunately got washed away by Hurricane Henri - and she was in contact with me even before it seemed the weather would b ea problem to let me know that in case I had to cancel, I could let her know via email or text whenever and she’d be ready to reschedule if needed. Unfortunately, since I live in Seattle and was only in town over the summer for some wedding prep, I didn’t get to do a trial but she padded some extra time into my day-of just in case I wasn’t happy with the look or wanted to change things.

My original booking was also for two separate stylists - one for makeup & one for hair - but she was luckily able to book me with Jackie for both services. Jackie arrived promptly on site and she was spectacular. I showed her pictures of the hair and makeup styles I had in mind and I couldn’t have been more blown away by the results - especially again, not having had a trial before and her coming to me sight unseen. We tested a lipstick that I wanted to wear which turned out to be too light and she gave me some great options as an alternative. She also gave great recommendations for placements for hair accessories & a birdcage veil I planned to wear that day - everything was perfect! I looked and felt so beautiful and I couldn’t have been happier with how my makeup and hair turned out!

Obsessed with my wedding day hair :)

The Hair& Makeup Co did my hair for my wedding on 7.30.21. Heather was such a pleasure to work with throughout the pandemic! We actually ended up moving our original date from 2020 and she made it so easy to change to our new date.

Kristina was our hair stylist on the day and was absolutely fabulous. I ended up wanting to change my look from my trial and it turned out better than I could have imagined. Everyone in my bridal party was so happy with their hair and they all looked beautiful! She had us ready in the allotted time, which made my day much less stressful.

My hair stayed perfect the entire day, especially given the fact that we were on a windy golf course! I would definitely recommend using them for your wedding day needs!

Amazing Services

just had my wedding this past weekend and I cannot begin to describe how amazing it was to work with Heather, Jackie and Daniela. Heather was so accommodating and supportive when I had to move my wedding twice during Covid. Communication was seamless from the time of my trial to my wedding day. My stylists Jackie (hair) and Daniela (makeup) were amazing and did exactly what I wanted. My bridesmaids looked amazing as well and we all received so many compliments on our hair and makeup throughout the night. I highly recommend the Hair and Makeup Co for your wedding!

Hair + Makeup Co was AMAZING!

The Makeup + Hair Co was AWESOME. I had a large bridal party and we needed hair + makeup done for 13 people in time for an earlier church ceremony. Heather made it SO easy and seamless... she provided enough people on her end so we didn't have to wake up at the crack of dawn and all of the hair + makeup artists were on-time, professional & talented. Everyone felt beautiful and my expectations were beyond exceeded. Would highly recommend!

Highly Recommend the Ladies of Glo!

The ladies of Glo are the best to work with!

From the moment I met Caity, I felt extremely at ease, and I knew I was going to be taken care of. Caity did my make-up for my engagement shoot, my bridal shower, and I was so excited to work with her on my wedding day. She carefully listened to all of my concerns and offered helpful advice and solutions. I felt so beautiful and it was in no small part because of her amazing talent.

Catherine worked with the mom's and bridesmaids - they all couldn't stop talking about just how nice she was, and how happy they were with the way their hair turned out.

Kristina, I can't even begin to say how grateful I am to her! She did my hair for my Bridal Shower and understood exactly what it was I wanted for my wedding day. She even went out of her way to be available, on her cousins wedding day no less! I felt very at ease with her looking out for me!

Last, Heather was such a dream to work with - she was upfront and honest about everything Glo could do and helped keep me calm during a few stressful moments.

I am so glad I decided to use their services and would highly recommend them to anyone for their engagement shoot, shower, wedding day, etc.

I’ve had my makeup and hair done for both my engagement shoot and bridal shower. The artists are amazingly talented and so sweet! Kat keeps my frizz prone hair under control through heat, humidity, and rain and looking insanely gorgeous! Caity is spot on when it comes to makeup! She always nails the look!! Glo Beauty Bar was a pleasure to work with for my wedding day! I had a blowout and makeup done for my engagement shoot and knew I had to book them for my wedding. In addition to myself, they did hair and makeup for all of my bridesmaids (7) and both MOH and MOG. Everyone had a unique look and the stylists really listened to what each woman was looking for. I had my hair done by Catherine and makeup by Caity. Both are extremely talented and were easy to work with during trials and day of. Heather was my point of contact throughout the planning process and she is a pro! All of the Glo girls were highly professional and very responsive whenever I had any questions.

First off let me just say how wonderful this salon is! I was recommended by a friend to try Cat for my bridal trial and absolutely feel in love with my trail! After talking to her and seeing how much she truly cares about her clients and wanting nothing but the best for them I decided to change over to Glo completely.

I am a natural dark brunette but have been blonde for many years and have always had trouble getting the exact color I wanted! Cat has not only blessed my hair with color but has helped my hair become healthy again!!

Cat and Kristina were the stylists I used for my bridal party. They both came onsite to our hotel and did an amazing job! My theme was anything with a braid and they both killed it!

Not only do I recommend this salon for your bridal needs but for everything else! This is your go to place for great work!

A friend of mine referred me to Glo for my wedding makeup and hair. From when I first met with them they were professional, organized, and seemed to know what they were doing not only with hair and makeup but specifically for Brides and Bridal parties. I was so happy with my trial that I used them for my bridal shower hair and makeup as well. For the day of the wedding, I had Cat for hair & Daniella for makeup, they also had 2 other girls with them to assist getting my bridesmaids and mom beautiful. They were on time and ready to go, my bridesmaids were ready to go way before they needed to be ready which helped take the anxiety of the day of timeline. I cannot recommend them enough!

Thank you thank you thank you Caity and Kristina for making me and my entire squad look and feel gorgeous on my wedding day. My mom and my husband's mom were glowing. All of the bridesmaids looked stunning. And I felt radiant as I headed to the venue to get married. The makeup lasted all day. My hair stayed in until the wee hours of the morning.

Expert tip: if you can, get ready at the salon - you'll have more hands on deck. We were even EARLY! When does that even happen? I cannot say enough wonderful things about my entire experience with Glo.

Bonus points to Glo for including gratuity in their pricing so there was no shuffling money around the morning of the wedding. Bravo!

My wedding was in September and Heather and the girls from Glo were helpful from the very beginning of the process. I had had my hair and makeup done by them at my friends wedding a couple years prior and remembered all of the girls being extremely happy with how they looked so when it was my turn to find a salon, I immediately thought of Glo. Heather worked with my budget, flexible with my schedule and was very accommodating the day of. Kristina did my hair which came out amazing and stayed secure all day, she now does my hair cuts on a regular basis. On a day that is full of anticipation, excitement and plenty of nerves, these ladies came in and did an amazing job while keeping me at peace and calm throughout. I couldn't say anything but the best about these ladies because they have never disappointed me. I can't thank them enough!

Hiring the Glo team to do hair and make up for me, my mom and my bridesmaids was one of the easiest wedding decisions I made. Heather was incredibly helpful planning the schedule and timing - they are truly pros. Heather, Catherine and Melissa were wonderful to join us in the bridal suite and truly helped everything run so smoothly. Their expertise was evident. Their top concern was their customers and being the bride, they did everything to help me find the look I wanted and help me feel like the best version of myself on my wedding day. If I could give Glo ten stars, I would! My bridesmaids and I all loved the hair and makeup as well as the atmosphere. Heather is amazing. She did my make up for my sisters wedding 3 years ago and I knew when I was planning my wedding that I wanted her to do my makeup for my wedding day. Not only is she extremely talented, but very nice too! She knew exactly what kind of look I was going for and made sure I was happy with it. She also did make up on my bridal party and my Mom and they all loved their make up. I would highly recommend her to any future brides or anyone looking for a makeup artist. I used Glo Beauty Bar for my own wedding day hair and makeup, and for my 6 bridesmaids, my mom, and my husband's mom and step-mom on 9/12/15, and I could not be happier with the service, quality, and professionalism!

Catherine and Victoria arrived a little earlier than scheduled, which was great, because that way, my bridesmaids were able to really tell them how they wanted their hair to look, and also get suggestions on what Catherine thought would look best on them and their types of hair. Each girl's hair came out better than the last, and it was exactly what they asked for!

As for my bridal updo, Catherine couldn't have done a better job! I went for a trial in July where we came to a decision about how it would look the day of the wedding, and when she went to do it for the actual wedding day, it turned out even better than the trial! I danced all night and not one hair fell out of place! She was also really great in helping me find extensions that would perfectly match my natural hair color so they would blend right into the updo.

Heather and Daniella did an absolutely amazing job with everyone's makeup as well! I told Heather I didn't want to look too made up (I normally don't wear a lot of makeup) or have it look too dark and dramatic, so she made sure I looked natural, but very polished. I will be sure to use her for any formal event I go to from now on!

One of my bridesmaids thought Glo did such a great job that she booked them on the spot for herself and her bridal party for her New Years Eve wedding!

THANK YOU SO MUCH Heather, Catherine, Victoria, and Daniella, for creating wedding day looks that we will remember forever!

Kristina at Glo was a joy to work with! I went to Glo for my trial in May (my wedding was July 24th). Everyone was so nice and helpful. I brought a few pictures of some hair styles that I liked and Kristina came up with something even more beautiful. After the trial, I had some concerns because I wanted to buy a hair clip and I wanted the hair around my face to be a bit tighter, rather than the lose curls. It was easy to get someone on the phone at the salon to go over any questions I had. Kristina was on time the day of the wedding and knew exactly what I meant in regards to changing the hair style a bit. It was perfect! My hair looked great and it didn't fall out at all - and i danced ALL NIGHT!! :)

This review is on Jeanette's makeup and she is awesome!! My makeup was sooooo fabulous. I went for a trial and explained the bridal look i wanted - that dewy glowy look with focus on the eyes (winged eyeliner, false lashes, natural eyeshadow tones) - and I seriously couldn't be happier. She totally knows her stuff, and it was a lot of fun to talk about the makeup products with her and get her expert tips and advice. I was able to arrange for her to meet me at my venue on the day of, and it was super fun to start my day with her. We had great convo (as we did during my trial), and not only did she make me look gorge, but I also walked away with super awesome makeup tips for my every day look as well. Thank you Jeanette!!! :)

I used Glo Beauty Bar for my wedding day makeup for myself, my 6 bridesmaids, and my mom. They were prompt and kept to the schedule and did such an amazing job! Everyone loved their makeup!!! Heather was especially patient with me..I went for 3 trials before choosing a look for the wedding day. I couldn't have asked for a better team. They made us look beautiful and were so fun to hang out with all day. I would recommend them for makeup in a heartbeat! I think one of my bridesmaids even took down their contact information to use at her wedding in October.

My experience at Glo Beauty Bar was really amazing. Heather was extremely responsive and always available for a quick call. They were flexible when it came to the number of hair dressers/makeup artists assisting us. My hair/makeup trial was with the artist who would be working with me the day of. The girls were so friendly and professional. They made me feel so comfortable and were happy to try different looks. I ended up changing my ideas for hair/makeup by the day of and they were very flexible to the changes. My group had the entire store to ourselves and we were able to set up a table with some breakfast and champagne. It was a great experience!

Kristina did my hair and my new step-daughter's hair for my wedding. She did an AMAZING job! I had pretty specific requests, and seeing how my (then) fiance is a hairstylist, had extra high expectations. She listened to what I wanted and executed it perfectly! Even in the trial, she only had to do it once and had very minor tweaks for the wedding day (meaning, I just wanted my part to be moved just a bit more to the side). On my wedding day, my hair was PERFECT! I absolutely loved it - exactly what I wanted, but looked even better. My husband was thrilled with it too!! Can't speak more highly of Kristina - great stylist and fun to work with :)

Glo Beauty Bar was recommended to me by my hair stylist (she is a friend of Heather's, the owner) and I could NOT be happier to have chosen them! I went for a trial a few months before my wedding and their shop is adorable and Jeanette made me feel so comfortable. Then on my wedding day, she came early and prepared and did makeup for my sister and I. We looked like total KNOCKOUTS and she did an absolutely amazing job. Our makeup lasted through lots of tears and dancing and we got so many compliments. I cannot wait to go back to them for makeup lessons after wedding craziness dies down -- they were that good. I can't express how amazing my experience was with Glo Beauty Bar for my wedding. I felt like the most beautiful bride thanks to Heather for doing my make up and Catherine for doing my hair. I couldn't have been happier with my bridal hair and make-up as well as hair and make-up for my mom and bridesmaids! Everybody stayed looking gorgeous for the whole day/night! Heather and her team were an absolute dream to work with. I first met Heather last year when I did a makeup trial for the wedding. She did an amazing job - the makeup was subtle and light (exactly what I wanted) but really played up the features on my face. I wound up going to Heather for a few other events over the past year (bachelorette, bridal shower, etc) and every visit was impeccable.

On the day of, Heather brought a makeup assistant and a hair assistant (to help with some of the blow drys). Each person was incredibly professional and did a great job. I had Heather stay for the day through my ceremony to do touch ups (we had started taking photos much earlier) but I barely needed them. My makeup stayed on perfectly and there really was no need to touch up.

I can't recommend Heather and her team enough. We had an amazing experience and she would be a perfect addition to any wedding or event.

My hair and makeup were done professionally and efficiently at Glo Beauty Bar. I knew what I wanted going into my appointment and came out ten times happier than I thought I would. I've gotten my make-up done by Heather (owner of Glo). Heather is super friendly, and the environment of her salon is truly welcoming. She did OUTSTANDING make-up on me for my engagement party- and other occasions as well. Heather at Glo Beauty Bar is a true professional. She was responsive and accomodating and arrived early on the day of my wedding. Best of all, she has an amazing eye and knows makeup like no one else I've ever encountered. She did my makeup as well as makeup for the moms and grandmoms and everyone looked gorgeous. Heather was very kind and professional from our first encounter. She was always quick to return texts and emails and was always very flexible. She agreed to come to my hotel room where I was getting ready and did my makeup as well as my mom's and my maid of honor's. We were all so happy with her work! Heather did an awesome job with my makeup as well as my girls' and my mom's. My mother had never gotten her makeup done before, or worn false eyelashes, and she was thrilled with it and looked great! I got so many compliments on mine, I was so happy. It stayed put all day and night and didn't feel heavy at all. One of my bridesmaids wanted to cancel her makeup girl for her upcoming wedding and switch to Heather, that's how awesome she is! She is also super responsive and just a nice person in general. I can't even begin to describe how pleased we were with Heather's work - she did make up for myself (bride), four bridesmaids, my mother, and my sister for my wedding. Not only was she incredibly efficient, she did an amazing job - everyone's makeup looked awesome! One of my bridesmaids, who is incredibly picky, said it was the best makeup she's ever had done (and she's been in a lot of weddings). In addition to being an incredibly skilled make up artist, Heather is very professional, responsive, flexible and personable. We could not have been happier!!!

Bottom line: Heather did a fantastic job on my makeup. She was able to take my incoherent explanation of what I wanted and turned it into exactly what I had in mind. She was always really helpful in answering my questions and giving me beauty tips like what colors and tones look good on me for future reference. In addition to being talented at her craft, she was a pleasure to be around. At a time when I was a bit anxious, she kept me comfortable and laughing. Heather was incredibly professional, but also really fun, always keeping me at ease. I would use her again in a heartbeat and recommend her to anyone who is looking for a great artist!

Heather is an amazing makeup artist! She went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule, and really knows what she is talking about. She did a great job of taking my vague description of what I wanted, and turning it into a wonderful makeup job. Heather made sure I loved my makeup, and made me feel very comfortable to express what I liked and didn't like during the trail, until we got to the perfect look. I have used Heather for several occasions, and everyone always comments about how great my makeup looks. Don't be fooled by her reasonable prices, because I have seen people go to makeup artists who cost much more, and their makeup definitely does not look as good.

I am so happy we chose The Makeup + Hair Co. for our wedding. Caity and Kristina both did an amazing job making me and my bridal party look our best while still looking like ourselves. I usually don’t wear a lot of makeup, and Caity, our makeup artist, was able to bring my “no-makeup-makeup” vision to life. Kristina did our hair, and it was so wonderful to work with someone who was able to navigate different textures and lengths. She was flexible and adaptable as I changed my hairstyle plans last minute, and was able to add a last-minute hair accessory I received as a gift shortly before the wedding. Heather was incredibly responsive to ALL my questions, making scheduling a breeze. Jackie was great. Having a hair stylist who can also do makeup was an excellent match for our micro-wedding! Who recommend to any bride.

Overall my husband and I cannot be happier with the services provided by Glo Beauty Bar as their stylist and makeup artist did a phenomenal job on the hair and makeup for the wonderful women in our wedding parties. My husband and I highly recommend that you strongly consider hiring Glo Beauty Bar for your hair and makeup needs.

The staff was amazing! Since I had a morning wedding Glo was very accommodating with allowing my bridal party and myself come in early so that we would be done by 7:30 am. Due to us having a very tight schedule, Heather created a time schedule for each staff member to follow. Each one of my girls was finished on time which allowed everything to run smoothly. Heather allowed us to set up bagels in the morning and served as all coffee. I was provided with a bag that contained extra lip gloss, lipstick, bobby pins and hairspray. Any questions that I had that day or prior I received an answer for quickly. After getting my trial done, I decided to change my makeup and sent Heather pictures. The day of my wedding she had my pictures to copy! Catherine reviewed with me how I wanted my hair to look and took the time to make sure it was exactly the way I wanted. She gave me suggestions about what to do the flowers in my hair as well. Throughout the day everyone kept saying how amazing my hair looked. Thank you Glo for participating in my special day!

My daughter was married Sat. Aug. 20, 2016. About 3 weeks before the wedding, my daughter had a second trial with another hair stylist & make up artist. Well, it was a disaster & realized at the point they were not going to work for us. Needless to say, I had to scramble to find others to make my daughters day special. I called several places and after a trial we were totally convinced Glo Beauty Bar was the way to go. They were so professional and accommodating. (The beauty bar was actually closed for vacation the weekend we needed them) Heather was amazing and put my daughter and I at ease. Daniella, the make-up artist, listened carefully to my daughters wishes and followed through. LIz, the hairstylist, was so patient & also listened to my daughters dream hairstyle wishes. During the trial, LIz must have made up her hair and then undid it about 6 times until my daughter was completely satisfied!!!! Even the day of the wedding, my daughter had another idea about how she wanted her hair to look, and Liz just went with it patiently. I can not say enough about these ladies. Daniella created beautiful faces, so natural looking!!!! LIz's style creations were absolutely stunning!!!! The girls received so many compliments. Thank you for making my daughter so pleased with all your work. Definitely do not hesitate to visit Heather & her team at Glo Beauty Bar, you will be amazed with their professionalism, patience, listening skills & their talent.

Glo Beauty bar was really great to work with. I used them for both hair and makeup.

The trial was a lot of fun. The first round on the makeup was spot on. But what I really liked was they did several different hair styles so I could see what I liked and what would work with my hair length.

I contracted with Glo to provide on-site services for my wedding day. Both artists were prompt and well-prepared. Both were pleasant, fun, and easy to work with.

The pricing was in line with other vendors I contacted, even including the travel fee. Glo is located in Mamaroneck, NY, but my venue was in Long Island City, NY, about 30 miles away.

Ultimately I chose Glo because they were closer to my home and it was easier for me to go to Mamaroneck for the trial than to get into NYC on an evening or weekend. I'm very happy with my choice and everyone commented on how nice both my hair and make up were.

Catherine is just amazing!! I was so happy with my wedding day hair, she nailed it. I was very specific on what I wanted, and she was able to give it to me. My guests kept complimenting me on my hair and still to this day when I show people pictures, they say how beautiful my hair looked. I would definitely recommend using GLO and CATHERINE!!

The staff as Glo Beauty Bar was very flexible - even allowed me to add a blow out for my wedding day with one day notice! Staff was very dedicated to making sure my hair and makeup was perfect! Very reasonably priced and definitely worth it!

I booked several hair and makeup artists from Glo for our very formal winter wedding in Eastchester. The team worked with us to accommodate both a handful of guests at one location and then myself / the bridal party at another. The stylists were fast, skilled and fun. Everyone looked how they looked, and better yet, we looked great all night. Highly recommend Jeanette and Caity for glam or smokey makeup looks, and Cat did my high-volume, extensions bridal hairstyle that was FABULOUS. Highly recommend. :)

My make up looked good after I asked her to take off a good portion of it
Hair was terrible! I asked for a lot of volume and loose curls. When she (Heather) was done I had tight baby doll curls and my hair was flat. I should've made a fuss about it but the damage was done
Main reason I came here was because the prices are reasonable but it rather pay the extra and enjoy the outcome instead of rushing home to fix it

Very good hair and makeup! But expensive and didn't have good customer service

I recently got married and used Glo Beauty Bar.

Pros: The makeup artist and hairdresser that did my bridesmaids and myself were AMAZING! My hair stayed all night and it was very beautiful along with the gorgeous makeup! The makeup artist and hairdresser were very professional, skilled, and were actually really fun to spend time with and chat with! Great ladies!

Cons: I only gave 2 stars because the morning of my wedding, I didn't get quality customer service (from management, not from the stylists). And it was pretty pricey for the services. It really goes a long way if a vendor has great customer service and does their best to be NICE and CALMING when any issues arise. At my hair/makeup trial I specifically told them I wanted everyone to get the wedding day hair/makeup done at the Salon. Management seemed to understand and quickly gave me a lengthy/wordy contract and discussed what each part meant. So I went ahead and signed it. Over the next few months as bridesmaids kept flip-flopping on which services they wanted, I kept having to update the salon on the total numbers and they were fine with that--- But each time you have to then print, sign, and scan/fax the updated contract back again and they tell you that you have 24 hours to do this?! But finally the official contract was submitted. I saw my Venue was written on the contract but assumed they needed that information maybe for marketing purposes or whatnot. Week of the Wedding, I didn't get any personal phone call confirming the appointment with details, but got a very brief email saying that the stylists were looking forward to seeing me. Then I received a text the night before the wedding saying "this is to confirm your appointment at Glo Beauty Bar". So I thought all was good. So morning of wedding when I am most stressed--- I get everyone to the salon just on time (because there are LATE FEES if you arrive late). To my surprise, we were greeted with a very unwelcoming and irritated look. And only a stern greeting of "What are you doing here? They are at the venue! It was in the contract!" Of course, we were very confused and only received another stern and irritated reply of "It was in the contract!!" So on the verge of stress and tears I didn't even want to converse with the person so I just turned around and walked out and told the bridesmaids to do so as well----so we raced in the car to get to the venue (which the venue had NO idea we were going to be using the bridal suite at 9:30am for a 4:30pm wedding). Luckily the venue was more than understanding and bent over backwards to calm us down and let us know it was okay and we can use the suite.
-Overall, all of us thought the rude and unhelpful response to the confusing situation was extremely unnecessary and unprofessional. Yes, as a bride with a million other things going on, I guess I should have called to confirm specifics-- but when you are spending over 1000K on services, you'd hope they would be organized with the best customer service to do a courtesy for you and give a call to confirm the details---or at the VERY least react better when there is confusion. A simple "I'm sorry there was a misunderstanding, they are at the venue-- see if the venue will let you go there and take your time getting there. Don't worry, everything will be fine!" would have gone miles.

The bridal prices and prices for the bridesmaids were also extremely extorted and expensive. It was $240 for bride's hair and $240 for bride's makeup not including 20% tip--- honestly, the same amount of time and effort were put into both bride and bridesmaids (which all turned out lovely) but it seems ridiculous to extort the person who is the bride for the same service. The bridesmaids were $120 for hair and $120 for makeup. That seems more reasonable, but the makeup should definitely be less than the hair, in my own opinion. The hair and makeup trial was also very expensive-- $90 for hair and $90 makeup not including 20% tip(which was done pretty quickly and the hair fell out a couple hours later).

After a great experience with Glo for my wedding, I chose to stay with them for cut and color moving forward. I've been blonde for years and my hair needed a break, so I consulted with my Glo stylist about going brunette. We discussed what I wanted for weeks before I came in: a medium, ashy, dimensional brown. My blonde had always been cool toned and it was important to me that the brunette would be ashy, as well. It ended up a dark, flat reddish auburn that can only be fixed by bleaching it, which I was going brunette to no longer do. Simply put, I hated the result and it was nothing like what we discussed. After explaining the situation repeatedly to the salon owner, Heather, and requesting a refund due to how far they missed the mark, she refused and suggested I go elsewhere from now on. Beware of this salon. If you're not happy with the result, they take zero responsibility.

Unprofessional and inconsiderate

Makeup & Hair Co. backed out of their contract to provide hair/makeup at my wedding. They first asked that we spend an extra $250 to rent them their own hotel room for the day and then tried to keep my deposit and trial money. They left me without a hair & makeup vendor 3 weeks before my wedding. Unprofessional and inconsiderate.
