Thoughtful, detail-oriented, and experienced! Great for out-of-state couples
Jill was an absolutely amazing planner for our wedding in Steamboat! As a bride planning a wedding from out-of-state, I was so impressed by her local knowledge and industry connections, which made coordinating everything from afar so much easier.
Jill is thoughtful, detail-oriented, and experienced. It was clear that she truly cared about us and our vision for our wedding. She helped to ease our stress, keep us on track, and made us feel supported every step of the way. Day-of, things flowed so smoothly that we didn’t even realize what hiccups may have happened behind the scenes (which is exactly what you want in a planner!)

I don’t know how else to put it, but Jill is family. When you have someone plan your wedding, they learn everything about you and your family and see you at your best…and your worst. Jill quickly picked up on all our personalities and figured out a way to keep the peace throughout the process.We had some very strong voices and even conflicting visions, and Jill figured out a way to bring everyone’s ideas to the table and combine them. She is a miracle worker. Jill can see the big picture, even as you find yourself bogged down in the details, and she makes sure it all comes together to create the day of your dreams. I wish I could have Jill with me for all my major life events. She is calm and sweet but also strong and organized. She has a great sense of humor and is someone you want to be your lifelong friend. My entire family agreed on one thing after my wedding: We could not have done it without Jill. -

Working with Jill was such a joy. She totally took charge of all the arrangements . I live in Dallas and could not have secured the great vendors that she did for my husband's birthday party. It was a great success and we will be forever grateful. Jill is flexible, prompt with her responses, and has great follow through. Her prices are reasonable and well worth the peace of mind knowing you are working with a true professional. -

Jill was very organized and an essential part of our wedding day in Steamboat Springs. We hired Jill to help us with the wedding day/weekend events including a wedding ceremony at the local church and an evening reception at a second location on the mountain. We met with her several times before our day to be sure everything was set and she had tons of ideas for how to make the schedule of events run smoothly so we'd have a great low stress day. We were able to relax and enjoy our wedding day since we knew she had all the details, decorations and vendors handled. Jill had great ideas for details of the wedding and reception that we hadn't thought about. She also worked extremely well with our photographers. We received tons of compliments from our guests about Jill and how wonderful everything went that day. We definitely recommend Jill to anyone looking for a wedding planner!

When we started planning our Steamboat wedding all the way from California, we knew we'd need to find someone local who could help. The Main Event wasn't the least expensive option, but after meeting with Jill we knew that we could really trust her to get the job done -- and it was worth the extra $ to have that peace of mind. The things we most appreciated about working with Jill: she always over-delivered on the commitments she'd made to us in our contract, she was able to adjust her style/approach to our unique needs (and wedding style), and she made us feel like she was really excited to be working with us. She also knows the local vendor landscape well, which was really important for us since we could only be in town a couple of weekends for planning purposes and didn't really have the ability to shop around. Oh, and maybe we should also mention: our wedding went off without a hitch (well, we think it did ... if there was a hitch, she hid it/fixed it and we certainly didn't notice ... which was exactly what we wanted). We recommend the Main Event highly, especially for folks like us who are coming from out of town and have "big city" expectations for the kind of service they'll get from a planner. -

Jill was absolutely fantastic to work with. I received the recommendation for her from a venue in town when they mentioned offhand that "she threw the best wedding we've ever had here." Having already spoken to another wedding planner in town, I decided to have a phone conversation with Jill to get a feel for her. I decided almost immediately to work with her versus my other option because she was far more creative and personal. She of course kept everything organized, but I appreciated the fact that she saw the wedding as a reflection of the couple and not just as a standard event she needed to plan. If you want someone to not only help keep the day organized and running, but also add creative and personal touches, Jill is the one! -

Jill provided day of coordination for our wedding. We could not have been happier with the service she provided. She went above and beyond to ensure we didn't have any worries or concerns during our day. I felt completely relaxed the entire day and was completely confident in allowing Jill to run the show. We got so many compliments from our guests regarding how smooth everything went. I can not think of one glitch that happened so if there was, Jill took care of it and I never had a clue, which is how it should be. Jill is very experienced and it comes through in her confident ability to get things done. She offered great suggestions to help make our day very special and we can't thank her enough for helping to make everything beautiful and perfect for what we wanted. -

Jill Waldman assisted us in planning the rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding in Steamboat Springs. We live on the east coast.......she guided us in all areas of planning,from the venue, menu, caterer, and flowers. She is professional,wonderful to work with, and organized. We actually got comments from our guests as to how smoothly everything went and just how well organized we were, all thanks to Jill! She not only kept everyone on track and let all of our vendors know well in advance the timeline of the day, but she organized our (and all of our guests') transportation as well. She is the ultimate cat-herder and we couldn't have asked for anything more from The Main Event! Overall, Jill was easy to work with, thorough and professional and I would recommend her to any bride :) -

Jill Waldman with the Main Event did nothing short of making my dream wedding come true. My now husband and I hired Jill to help with day of planning and event design. Jill is very detail oriented and made sure that all of the lose ends were taken care of. She was able to take my ideas and create a masterpiece. If I could post a picture of my face when I first saw our reception decorations you would see the tears of joy in my eyes. I just didn't think that someone could take all our our decorations and create such a cohesive beautiful space. I would recommend Jill time and time again. -

We had an amazing wedding weekend thanks to Jill and The Main Event! Her knowledge and expertise is second to none and she made our destination wedding dreams come true! She was so easy to work with and is friendly, helpful, and organized (which I loved!) We did a lot of DIY'ing for our wedding and had a budget we worked hard to stay under. Jill did everything we asked to perfection! She had so many recommendations for ways to help us save some money, but also pointed out areas where it would be worth it to spend the little bit extra, and in the end it was everything we wanted! She called and emailed us regularly to keep us updated on the progress and things left to do which took a lot of stress out of the wedding planning process especially considering we were planning it from over 1500 miles away! When our wedding weekend finally arrived, she made sure that the only thing we had left to do was get our marriage license and relax. She truly made the weekend a peaceful and enjoyable experience, and not just for us, but for our guests. She helped us plan other events for them such as a welcome dinner for guests arriving on Thursday and a Sunday brunch. She did not miss one little detail! If you are planning a wedding or event and are thinking about working with Jill, do it! It will be the best decision you make in the entire planning process. Even though our wedding is over, we still keep in touch with Jill and consider her more like a friend than our wedding planner (which after reading a few of these other reviews is not uncommon!) Thank you Jill for everything!! -

We can’t thank Jill at The Main Event enough for making our wedding day beyond perfect! Jill is professional, friendly (I can’t help but feel like I walked away with a lifetime friend), organized, thoughtful, knowledgeable, detail oriented and so much more! When I first started planning I thought I’d be able to do most everything on my own. About half way through planning I realized I needed help and fortunately was introduced to Jill. Jill knows everyone in Steamboat and was able to recommend the best vendors, meet with owner of the venue and coordinator conference calls on my behalf since we live out of town. She just made everything effortless. She definitely has an eye for design and on the wedding day when I stepped out of the car and looked at the venue, I was blown away! Everything was spectacular, something out of a dream! Everyone at the wedding said it was the best wedding that they had ever been to and I have to agree! Our wedding certainly wouldn't have been the same without her. Jill is quite incredible and we would highly recommend her! Thank you Jill from the from the bottom of our hearts!

Jill was amazing. We live in Brooklyn so we were overwhelmed by the idea of planning a wedding in Steamboat. Jill eased our fears and understood what picky New Yorkers wanted. She kept us sane and made sure that we were always on top of what we needed to do. Our wedding was more beautiful than we could have imagined. Jill wasn't just our planner she became a friend and support system. I cannot express in words how great Jill and her team are. She really understands how to take ideas and make them come to life. Jill planned and coordinated a 4 day destination wedding weekend for about 150 events. She was always available, stayed on top of all providers and helped keep a rather nervous bride reasonably calm. We never could have pulled this off without her -- she planned and executed a large cocktail party, rehearsal dinner, wedding and reception and morning after breakfast. She also got us the most incredible band for the wedding. -

I worked with Jill Waldman as an assistant during college, so I've seen first hand a number of the beautiful weddings Jill has coordinated. When it came time to plan my own wedding, there was no question that I wanted Jill to be involved. She has a fantastic style and amazing attention to detail, plus she's extremely organized. Jill also does a wonderful job of taking the wedding day stresses away from the bride and groom (and their families) so they can just enjoy the day, which was VERY important to me. We also were planning our wedding in Steamboat from out of state, so it helpful to have someone locally to consult with.
Jill listened to our vision and did a fabulous job of tying our ideas and concepts together, while keeping us within our budget. She was flexible in working by phone and email and coordinating meetings while we were actually in town. The day of the wedding went very smoothly and we couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out. Jill had the wedding day planned out beautifully and made sure everyone and everything was in the right place at the right time (we had separate ceremony and reception locations). It was the most amazing day!
I would certainly recommend Jill Waldman to others getting married in Steamboat or surrounding areas. Even if a full wedding planning package is not in the budget, her day-of coordination services are invaluable! Thanks for everything, Jill! -

Jill offers nothing less than the best. She will make sure that no detail is left untouched and that everything is as perfect as can be. Her attention to detail is flawless and her ability to coordinate all aspects of a wedding is masterful. She planned 4-days of events for 200 guests for my destination wedding including a welcome cocktail party, golf tournament, rehearsal BBQ, wedding ceremony & reception, and farewell brunch and it all went off perfectly. We were married in Steamboat 5 years ago, and to this day when my husband and I reminisce about that beautiful day, we always start the conversation saying "it was not possible without Jill." She is so detailed oriented and took all of the stress away for us. We just had to "show up" for the wedding since she handled everything and allowed us to enjoy the day. The Main Event made my wedding day absolutely perfect! Jill Waldman did an amazing job helping me plan and organize my vendors. Her attention to detail is outstanding and she thought of everything before hand so that on the wedding day everything went smoothly and flawlessly! Jill handled everything behind the scenes so that we could enjoy our day. Jill spent time getting to know me and understanding my vision and helped me create the atmosphere I wanted. She had a wealth of knowledge of different vendors. She was creative and gave me lots of great ideas throughout the process. Jill was attentive, supportive, and extremely well organized. Living in Florida, it would have been impossible to arrange the infinite number of tiny details that she did in such a professional and perfect manner. Jill and her team did an amazing job leading up to our wedding! Jill is personable and she put the right people in place to make it memorable. She is very responsive and always available by phone or email. Jill treats each wedding like it is her own, and her genuine excitement for our wedding day was appreciated. It felt like we were her priority, and it was as important to her as it was to us. Prior to our wedding, she confirmed all of our vendors and sent out an email with a detailed schedule to make sure everyone was on the same page. The event itself went smoothly, and her attention to detail and organization helped to make it a success. We loved working with her assistant, Juanita, during our wedding day, too! -

If you are looking to book an event in Steamboat and want someone who is well connected, professional, responsive and will go the extra mile – Jill is perfect! I had no idea what I was getting into planning a wedding in a remote venue outside of town. She made sure that every last detail was attended to, which is not my strength! She went the extra mile several times with extra phone calls and the time it took to visit the venue. She is structured, detailed and knows how she likes to see things executed. I think Jill would be especially perfect for large events that require extra coordination. I found Jill at the recommendation of the owner of the venue we selected. He told us she was the BEST in Steamboat. -

The Main Event made our special day come true. It's difficult when you live in Florida and want to get married in Steamboat Springs, but a solid wedding planner and consistent communicaton made all the difference.
We had a vision, and we expressed it and kept our vision until our special day, and having a great, fiesty, professional like Jill made our event come off flawless.
