Highly recommend the Concourse for weddings!!
We had our wedding last week at the Concourse. Since booking last summer we have been working with Kylie, their event coordinator at the hotel. Kylie is absolutely AMAZING, so responsive, professional, and absolutely detail oriented. She answered any and all questions from us typically within a few hours, was so easy to work with, and truly made the planning process seamless.
The hotel itself also was extremely organized with the floor plan for our wedding and reception, as well as getting everything we needed for our getting ready spaces too. We also hosted a breakfast the morning after our wedding that could not have been easier for us and required basically no set up on our end.
It was a super fun process to have our tasting and all of the appetizers and meals turned out great. The catering team was very accommodating to allergies and special preferences.
Overall, we had an amazing wedding at the Concourse and could not recommend Kylie or the team more! -

Dream Day!
We had our wedding at the Madison Concourse Hotel and it was an absolute dream. From the moment we walked into our first meeting with Kylie, Wedding Manager, we knew we had found our perfect venue. The Madison Concourse itself is a beautiful and modern hotel. It is incredibly maintained and decorated therefore requiring minimal decorations if you didn’t wish to spend a lot of your budget on decor. Kylie is incredibly kind, organized, go with the flow and truly listens to what YOU want. She listens to your vision, budget and answers any and all questions. She is willing to jump right in the day of to make sure the day is perfect. We had a wedding coordinator who worked directly with Kylie. Between the two of them, we truly had no worries. The Madison Concourse offers many delicious options for appetizers, dinner and late night snacks. We had our ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dance all at the Madison Concourse. It flowed really well and moments of “downtime”there was plenty for guests to do in the hotel and surrounding area. Many of our guests stayed the night or even made a weekend of it. We had the most wonderful wedding day. Our only complaint is that the day went by way too fast! We can’t thank the Madison Concourse enough. -

Everyone's Favorite Wedding!
My wife and I had our ceremony and reception at The Concourse - we worked with Kylie Reinhart (event coordinator) and had our event catered by the hotel through their Monona Package. The service provided by the hotel was genuinely excellent - the staff was absolutely and utterly accommodating for anything we could ask for and the spaces themselves were perfect for our event size (the Madison Ballroom for the reception fit about 90 people perfectly with space for a photo booth, open bar, and dancing). The capitol was one block away so we were able to do pictures super easily on a tight schedule and the hotel even provided us with celebratory bottles of champagne for once the ceremony was done and the wedding license was signed! We even apparently had an issue with some outside parties (fraternity brothers hosting a dinner nearby) trying to sneak into our event but my wife and I were completely unaware because the Concourse staff took care of it immediately. The staff were absolute professionals and I would completely recommend the Concourse to anyone willing to listen! -

Great Service!
We just had our wedding at the Madison Concourse on 11/12. From the first time we were looking at venues, we felt the most comfortable with the Concourse. The staff throughout the hotel are friendly and Julie and her event staff were so responsive to all of our questions. We ended up choosing the Concourse for several reasons, but one of the big ones was how experienced the staff are here and how seamless they made the initial process. That level of service carried through the year! Any time we had any questions, they were there with answers so quickly. There is a coordinator there on site during the wedding, which really removes all worries! The hotel is in the perfect location for a downtown wedding, everything was walkable. It's a great spot for a wedding with a number of out of town guests (as ours was) - there is an airport shuttle and it's easy for out of towners to get to experience Madison without needing transportation. Highly recommend the Concourse for a wedding, or any event! -

Madison Concourse was absolutely fantastic!
Our experience with learning about their space, catering, bar options, etc. was a snap! They made it incredibly easy to get ALL the information we needed and in a timely manner! Once we had signed on the dotted line to reserve the space for our wedding, they dealt with us in such a perfectly professional manner even when we asked for about 20 modifications to the event order! They helped with planning the timing of things and took several tasks off my plate, which goes a LONG ways with any couple working through planning a wedding!
The day-of, all of the event staff was extremely friendly and made the day/night go off without a single hitch in the agenda! It was such a relief to know that we were in such great hands with the Madison Concourse! The bartender working our event was AMAZING! He knew what my husband and I were drinking and had the beverage started as soon as either of us started walking towards him!
The food was .... delectable! We knew we were taking a chance with several of the items that we weren't able to sample in advance, however everything came out perfect! Our guests kept telling us how fantastic the food was and how great they thought the wedding space was! All thanks to The Madison Concourse and your fabulous staff! -

Awesome Venue
I had my wedding at the Concourse at the end of August, and it was fabulous. Chastity is awesome at answering any questions, and helping you plan our the space. Staff was beyond helpful the day of the wedding. Many guests complimented us on the food, which was plated. We also dropped our decorations off on Friday night before the wedding, and Chastity and the team set it all up for us- it looked better than we could have imaged. I can not recommend the Concourse enough for an ideal Madison based wedding. All of our guests loved the venue, and loved being so close to the capitol. Especially for out of town guests, the location can't be beat! -

We had our rehearsal dinner here, and it was a very good experience. Chastity was great to work with, our buffet dinner was really tasty (multiple guests complimented the food), and everyone had a good time. Chastity was also very accommodating of guests with specific dietary needs and my last-minute requests! -

We could not be happier with our wedding experience at The Madison Concourse Hotel. Everyone we worked with throughout the planning process (namely, Chastity, the wedding coordinator) was friendly, professional, accommodating, and creative. Even though our wedding was large (300+) the hotel & crew made the planning process incredibly easy and the reception feel intimate & special. Weeks later we continue to get compliments from guests on the delicious food. We are a same-sex couple and felt comfortable, supported, and validated by the hotel and staff. Thanks!! -Mary and Tanya -

I would Highly recommend the Concourse Hotel as a place to stay as well as booking for a wedding reception and next morning breakfast buffet. Chastity (our lifeline)was terrific at easing the challenge of planning a wedding from a different city. Her thoroughness was exemplary at suggesting vendors, attention to the details that enhance the celebration and that we had everything covered prior and day of wedding. All our guests had only rave compliments. EVERYone from bellhops to managers were so pleasant and attentive to all our comforts. Food & service terrific at the reception and breakfast. Location was great for out of town guests to see Madison. Chastity and Shawn gave us totally great memories!!! Jan H -

Our experience with the Concourse was nothing short of great! The only gripe I would have is that our coordinator changed three times in the course of planning, but the changes were so impeccably handled that it was only a minor inconvenience. We booked with one coordinator, after she left we were put with another coordinator who then went on maternity leave shortly before our wedding day so we were placed with a third coordinator. Each time there was a change we were informed with ample warning and were introduced promptly and courteously.
We ended up working with Julie the month (or so) leading up to our big day and she was fantastic! Every question we had was answered quickly and the few requests we had were accommodated professionally and promptly. I had a cold the day of my wedding and they brought me tea and a box of tissues without even asking-I was so thankful for that! The entire staff was friendly and courteous and seemed genuinely interested in making sure the day went off without a hitch. Great people and great service, would plan a party with them again any time! -

We had our reception and block of hotel rooms at the Concourse and they were a DREAM to work with. From the very first tour we took of the hotel when we were deciding on venues, The Concourse was far and away the most helpful, informative, and accommodating venue that we saw. We had estimated that we would have around 250 guests with many of them travelling out of town, so having the reception at a hotel where our guests could stay made the most sense to us. Once we signed the contract and booked the date, we were assigned to a Sales/Catering Manager who was our coordinator. Unfortunately, our original coordinator (who we loved!) left for another position about 6 months before our wedding, but our new coordinator, Julianne, was quick to jump in and was flawless in her help! The communication back and forth regarding all of the minute details was exceptional and I felt completely at ease going into the wedding day, knowing our day was in great hands. The wedding day itself was wonderful (of course!) but Julianne and The Concourse staff made sure everything was as we asked. Our guests loved the room (Madison/Wisconsin ballroom) and had rave reviews about the hotel! Excellent venue and hotel! -

My husband and I could not have asked for a better wedding! The Concourse was beyond what we imagined and the professionalism and care they showed was incredible. We worked with Jackie for a short time before she went on maternity leave and she was wonderful. We were informed well in advance of her leave and assigned to Mary to work with us for the remainder. We were sad to not be working with Jackie but quickly realized that Mary was amazing as well! We are so happy that we chose The Concourse for not just our reception, but our ceremony and rehearsal dinner as well. Everything was beyond expectation and there was never a moment of worry with anything. Any questions we had were answered quickly either by phone or email and any request we had was happily done. The hotel itself was also very accommodating and our guests were very pleased. The food for both the rehearsal and reception was delicious and we received so many compliments from our friends and family all night. Mary was also there to work with us the entire weekend of our wedding and somehow seemed to be in five places at once all night. She made my husband and I feel so comfortable and relaxed and I think that's what every couple wants! Simply wonderful! -

We had our recent wedding reception at the Concourse Hotel, and our experience was wonderful! They assign you a wedding coordinator, who works with you to plan your event - we worked with Sarah who was fantastic! She responded to all my emails (there were a lot) often within an hour or two, and never more than a day later. She helped me plan a few things, and came up with some ideas that I hadn't even thought of. They day of I almost felt like I had an extra attendant when she was around - she paid attention to so many details, and took care of so many little items, that it never even occurred to me to worry about whether or not they were being done.
The hotel also took care of practically everything - they set up all our pre-assembled decorations, set-up, helped move the gifts... you definitely get the services you pay for at the Concourse. The reception room looked even better than I had hoped it would. We had a hot chocolate bar (winter wedding), which they completely decorated and looked great. They worked really well with our vendors and helped make sure everything was taken care of that day. Our food was REALLY good, and we have now had multiple people comment afterwards to us how much they liked the food.
Overall, our experience was wonderful, and my husband and I are SO happy we chose to go with the Concourse HOtel for our wedding reception. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a classy, elegant, and service-oriented reception locale. -

The Concourse Hotel was amazing. They were fair and up-front about their services and pricing. They included many services in their base prices that other vendors charge extra for. Everyone there was extremely helpful, both before, and during the event. Our coordinator, Jenni Thompson, was especially wonderful. She helped us with everything we needed. She met with us several times to answer all our questions and go over exactly how we wanted the event run. She and the rest of the staff at the Concourse pulled off our event flawlessly and exactly how we wanted. More than that, after our meetings, I had every confidence in Jenni and the rest of the Concourse that everything would work out and it really had a big impact on how much I was able to enjoy my wedding day, knowing that I didn't have to worry at all about anything at the receptio. I will recommend them to all engaged couples in and around the Madison area. Thanks so much! -

We honestly had a great experience with the Concourse. We planned our wedding rather quickly so ended up going with a Friday night. We chose the Concourse because they offered a 10 percent discount for Friday night weddings. They bent over backwards to make our wedding wonderful, our wedding coordinator Jodie was fabulous. As the bride, I never had to worry about a thing! Her and my wedding coordinator Bill (The Wedding Guy) made sure that everything went perfectly. From being greeted at the reception in our own private room with champagne so I could bustle my dress, to waiters all serving the wedding party at once (very theatrical!) the whole reception was perfect. And we are still getting compliments on the food. When we went in to do our tasting, the chef actually ended up customizing a salad for us to go along with our three entree choices. We also had an appetizer buffet during cocktail hour that people just raved about. Plus the proximity to the Capital and downtown church where we were married couldn't be beat. Overall, awesome site. -

We had our daughter's wedding here in May. The staff were very helpful and the service and food were all we had expected. We attended a tasting in January and picked our food selections and the quality was the same on day of the wedding. The set up was beautiful and our guests had a wonderful time.
Working with the staff was very easy and they were well prepared and helpful to us.The Madison Concourse Hotel & Governor's Club's reply:

Our wedding was held in May of 2015 and it was amazing. Overall, I can't imagine we could have found a more perfect location and group to have our reception. Nothing ever goes perfectly when planning such a large event but in all honesty, this was as close to perfect as you could get.
Our food was delicious- even my most picky eater cleaned her plate! The event staff decorated the space just as we envisioned it and the bartenders were fantastic and friendly. We received so many compliments on how beautiful everything was!
I think one of the best parts for me was that once I provided Sarah with the information for the cake, DJ, etc., I didn't have to think about any of those things again. She was also really helpful with our final counts, explaining how the evening would go, and even caught that our room reservation for the night was wrong and fixed it for us- without us even knowing!
Weddings are expensive but this was the most reasonable space we looked at in Madison, and I truly feel it was a great value! Yes, some things are pricey- but that's the nature of the event. We never once felt that we were being overcharged for anything, so that made it a lot easier to handle.
When we arrived to the reception, Sarah let my husband and I see the reception space before anyone else was in it- it was something we both really appreciated. It was kind of magical to see our ideas become real in that space and have a few moments to enjoy it before everyone filled it.
Overall it was a great night and everyone at the Concourse really made it amazing! The Madison Concourse Hotel & Governor's Club's reply:

The Madison Concourse Hotel & Governor's Club was the perfect venue for our reception. Shana, our first coordinator, and Sarah, our second coordinator, were helpful, responsive, and made the day go so smoothly. We had a Wisconsin-themed wedding, which might have confused or daunted some coordinators; Shana and Sarah made it happen, including a huge tub of ice for our Hook's Cheese favors. The room looked beautiful, and we even had a private conference room (with a private bathroom) for the wedding party to stash their stuff and for me to wrangle my dress for bathroom things. It was perfect. The only issue we had was with our gifts; they were supposed to have been brought up to our guest room at the end of the night, but we ended up having to do it ourselves.
The shuttle was great, too. We used it to get from the Concourse to the University Club, where we had our ceremony, and back to the reception. It meant that the bridal party and out of town guests didn't have to figure out cars or cabs, and could enjoy their champagne toast.
I would recommend the Concourse to any bride who wants an elegant downtown Madison wedding. Our guests really appreciated being able to just run upstairs at the end of the night, and we loved having breakfast in the Dayton St. Grille on Sunday morning. -

This venue was amazing. They were very professional, helpful, and understanding. The food was incredible considering our wedding was for 200 people. We received excellent advice in the time leading up to the wedding as well as great direction the day of without the staff being overbearing. The service at dinner was impeccable and the bartenders and wait staff were friendly and quick. The only issue we had was that the parking garage was closed for renovations and we were only told the week before. But they offered a quick solution to the problem. -

I loved working with the concourse. We particularly worked with chastity who was actually the second coordinator we worked with. I was pretty nervous about this change, but she was great and I didn't even notice the change (it was that seamless). She was super responsive to all of my emails (there were a ton and on some days she got emails from myself and my husband). She was also very accommodating to all of my requests- even day of the wedding when i wanted the aisle changed a little. The food was also excellent- we served the flat iron steak and chicken which were cooked perfectly (which isn't always the case with 'wedding meals'). We also did our rehearsal dinner with the hotel. Which again, had excellent food and services. Overall, I found all of their staff wonderful and helpful! -

I booked a block of rooms for my guests at the Madison Concourse Hotel. When looking for a hotel to use, I ran into a lot of bad experiences (with other vendors), but working with the Concourse was wonderful! The staff was helpful, accommodating, polite, and prompt. I emailed a lot with Emily, she was great. They don't normally give guests in blocks rooms near each other, but I had a couple requests that she made happen. We didn't end up staying there as we lived within walking distance of the hotel and preferred to sleep at home, but our wedding party and guests were pleased with their stays. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of service received. If you're working with a hotel, the Concourse is a solid choice. -

We had our recent wedding reception at the Concourse, which we chose because our ceremony was held at the Capitol and we wanted an easy walk. There were a few bumps along the way but Shana our coordinator did everything she could to ensure that everything went off without a hitch (mostly our fault, only 3/4 of the people we expected attended the wedding and we had worried about meeting food minimums, probably not a normal situation). On the big day everything was perfect! I heard nothing but compliments on the food (we offered the flat iron steak and walleye, the steak was a bit overdone for my taste but that’s to be expected with banquet food and it was still tasty, the fish was delicious), the bartender was very on top of things (in hindsight we probably should have hired an additional bartender, but there were no complaints!) and the room was beautiful. My husband and I were also given a beautiful suite with lake views and a whirlpool tub, which was great at the end of a long day. Would definitely recommend! -

My wedding was beautiful! All venues can be expensive, and the Concourse is definately not an exception. We worked with Jenni, and she was AWESOME! She was very quick to respond to whatever we needed, and she was very accommodating in regards to making sure we could have the evening exactly how we wanted. She was super patient and helpful. Our food was fanastic and the bar service was great. The hotel is gorgeous and was a great choice since most of our guests were from out of town. My day was perfect and I am so glad with the service provided by the Concourse. -

The Concourse was highly recommended to me by a close friend who had her wedding at the Concourse a few years ago, and we are very glad we chose to work with them for our wedding reception.
Jenni at the Concourse is absolutely AMAZING. She quickly responded to emails and phone calls throughout the entire wedding planning process. We had a few last minute (day of) guest list changes and she quickly and smoothly accommodated the additional guests who decided to show up. It was such a relief to know that we did not have to stress or worry during our reception. We were able to show up and enjoy the night without worrying about the details because she had everything under control.
The entire reception ran smoothly with the help of all of the Concourse staff. Everyone was friendly, professional, and provided excellent service to our guests.

We used the Madison Concourse Hotel for our wedding block, and ended up having over 15 guests (most from London, England, but many from different parts of the States) stay in the Governor's Club. We stayed there as well on the weekend of our wedding. I was very happy with the additional services offered at the Governor's Club, and would definitely recommend this for other wedding parties looking to stay with out-of-town guests. For an additional $39 per day per room, guests can have a full, tasty breakfast in the GC (including coffee/tea/juice, pastries, cereal, warm eggs and bacon, fruit and more), which is replenished throughout the morning. Then, starting at about 4 p.m., free cocktail hour begins, with nice hors d'oeuvres being served as well. Our guests from England really enjoyed this feature! And the views are great onto the State Capitol. The rooms are comfortable the beds (all king throughout the hotel) huge. Staff were friendly and we were quite pleased with the wedding block discount rates we were offered ($169/night for regular rooms, $209/night for Governor's Club rooms). The only complaint I had was the fee the hotel charges for gift bags ($1/bag). We had assumed this fee covered placing the bags in each guest's rooms, but instead they were handed our at reception. As no other hotels in the area charge for this service we found it unnecessary for the Concourse to charge. Overall, however, the experience was a very good one, and the hotel does offer some of the best rates for the product in downtown Madison. -

The Madison Concourse was amazing in all aspects. Coordinator Shana was attentive, helpful, and supportive. The space has been redone since the online photos were taken, and was perfect for our needs. The ability to walk upstairs to bed after a long day was also great. Guests loved the food, and the costs were reasonable. They are great! -

If you want to have a wedding in downtown Madison, the Concourse is the place to go. They are the best place for a wonderful price. Their catering prices are on par with everyone else, the food is amazing, and you get a room for the night of your wedding when you reserve to use one of their rooms. They will set up everything for your reception so that is one less thing you have to worry about on your wedding day. They are truly professionals in every sense. I was a little disappointed that they were not 100% comprehensive in the services they offered. For example - a month before our wedding, we were told they offered shuttle services, which we wanted to book, but by then their shuttle was booked. Just be sure to ask lots of questions to help jog memories. -

The Concourse provided an elegant setting and wonderful food for our reception. People keep telling us it's the best wedding food they've had. The personal coordinator is a nice touch, although I sometimes felt like I had to ask the same question several times before getting an answer. A few minor details were not as expected, but overall the experience was wonderful. We had a fantastic wedding! -

I was over all happy but felt very rushed during the reception. The communication about our bill and pre-pay was poor on their end and the final bill was late getting to us and incorrect. Some of the incorrect items were fixed but some of the over charges we ended up eating just to move on with our lives. They lost our cake topper which I am not happy about, However they were very accommodating with rooms and parking. I felt they did try very hard to please us. I felt like they went above and beyond with some things but in hind sight, I feel when you give some one that much money, they should go above and beyond with everything. I was happy with a lot and disappointed with a few things so all in all they were a good vendor. -

Fine Experience...
The Concourse Hotel definitely fit the bill for our wedding hotel block. We had the second part of our reception at The Coopers Tavern so the hotel location couldn't be beat as far as convenience for our guests. Our guests all had a wonderful time and appreciated the location and the option of the Governor's Club. I will say I didn't feel exceptionally welcome or appreciated though. We brought a TON of business and I felt like we really had to dig for information. One big frustration we had was in the shuttle. We asked if a shuttle was available to get our guests to our wedding at Olin Park and then back downtown after. We paid to get various shuttle services for the wedding party and later for the guests and it was never brought to our attention that there was a free shuttle available, which would have definitely fit our needs. We also discovered some sort of miscommunication when we heard that our guests were being told there were no rooms available even though our block was reserved and not full. This is not the most economical hotel to have a wedding block at and I guess I would have expected a bit more when doing business with them but overall, it was a fine experience. -

Wedding planner was great! Day of the wedding and reception not so great. I had the pleasure of the other wedding attendents at another wedding coming to my side once their bar was closed out we had an open bar and were paying per drink so it cost us a lot of extra cost. This was after 9pm so I could not find someone to help get them out of my reception. I had asked a head of time about this and was told someone stands between the weddings and the doors would be closed. This was not the case. Oh and you could tell they were from the other wedding becaused the groomen and bridesmaids looked different. The bartenders were rude whe I asked then why they would serve people the were NOT from my wedding. Plus they were rude all night I waited in line for my drinks. OH and beware if you pay per drink they tend to snacth up your drinks fast if you set them down and say go to the bathroom. They lost my mugs I bought for the groom and best man. After the wedding was finished I ended up taking my gifts to my room myself (they said they would do it). They over charged me for items. I asked for guitar picks to be scattered on the table however they placed them at each napkin setting. They served my guest before serving us. During the planning you are rushed a lot of the time oh and for the tasting you have to go with a huge group of people. I really wish I to another location. The food did taste great. -
