There's so much I could say about the Lodge, but the real magic is the people! Scott and his team made sure that my wedding day was perfect and that I didn't have to worry about a thing. He dealt with my nervous emails/text whenever I would send them his way and met me with grace and never made me feel bad for changing things up (I tried not to do this too much!). If you are looking for a wedding place that won't nickel and dime you but still provide 5 star service, you really don't need to look any further. On top of that, my guest all kept saying they felt like they were in a hallmark film because the Lodge is literally that cute! Thank you Scott and team for the attention to detail you put into everything!

Scott is the owner and invites you into his family with open arms! He is there to make every step as easy and stress free as possible! The food was amazing and the venue was gorgeous :)

The Lodge and Conference Center were so accommodating to me and my whole family. From making sure the welcome bags ended up in the right room to the very last detail of the wedding reception dinner it was perfection. Wendy, Scott and everyone were so welcoming and such a joy to work with throughout the whole planning process. When it came to the day of, everything went off without a hiccup. The ceremony and reception space was decorated so beautifully. Our guests had a wonderful time. The entire weekend was just perfect! Thank you all!

Our Rehearsal Dinner and Celebration was awesome at The Mountain Lodge. Everything was all inclusive which made this event so easy to plan. They provided a beautiful large room with chandeliers, round & oblong tables, table cloths and napkins with our choice of colors, beautiful table decorations with floating candles, overhead projector & screen for slide show, microphone for speeches, bartender and very reasonable bar options with our choice of beverages, and in house caterer with excellent food options and the food was very good. After the dinner, it was such a beautiful fall evening, they setup a bonfire with chairs & firewood and also corn hole games in the courtyard area for all of our guests to continue the celebration. Wendy was absolutely wonderful to arrange everything that we wanted and was so flexible and accommodating! She made this experience too good to be true for us! Scott, the manager is just so friendly and accommodating as well....and made us and all of our guests feel like family and truly welcomed at Mountain Lodge. The Lodge itself is a gorgeous venue for any celebration and the rooms are so nice and clean as well. I would highly recommend this venue for anyone that wants a great venue and value for their money! Thanks to Wendy and Scott for creating so many wonderful memories for us and making our event so special!! We love you both.

I have so many wonderful things to say about, the Mountain Lodge in Flat Rock. First, let me tell you what we, (Stephen and I) wanted for our wedding. We wanted a small wedding with immediate family only and a select group of very close friends. Our count came to around 70---a GREAT number---because people = money. And we wanted good food – a relaxing atmosphere at a beautiful location.
We needed a space for our extended family to be able to enjoy, relax. We wanted a mountain feel, especially for our family who haven't been to the mountains. We needed HELP doing all of these wonderful things!
What you, and your partner must look for is a staff that will help you along this fast-paced journey, a staff who can help you with last minute, 'OOPS WE Forgot That' moments.
And Mountain Lodge is the PERFECT Place!
Mountain Lodge staff not only helped us with the silly things we forgot. They were thoughtful, accommodating, patient and above all professional.
We had our rehearsal dinner, and reception dinner there.
Our rehearsal dinner we had maybe 60 people, so we decided we wanted comfort BBQ food - a bit of NC flare and relaxing get to know one another time, and WOW! What a great decision- everyone loved the food they provided- staff was on hand and not overbearing or intrusive. The bread was fresh, both BBQ were provided- just an all-out Yum! The family was able to mingle in a relaxing environment and visit with one another- everyone told us how nice it was to have the down time, as we tend to forget - Most families have traveled a LONG way to see us and they need the time to unwind as well. How awesome was it that The Mountain Lodge fit ALL of these things for us!
A woman named Wendy who works at the hotel is the most amazing - kind - wonderful person to work with. She even did my flowers and OH MY Did she do an amazing job- and I don't mean she did a passable ok job- these flowers were creative and works of art truly. If I ever needed help she was there- I really made sure to not bother her too much, when you talk to her she just puts you at ease and you just KNOW she has got everything you need- listened to your wants and helps with everything you didn't plan for. Honestly it was the whole group of people on staff that weekend. All of them – I can’t thank any of them enough. We got really lucky to have picked this venue to hold our special day.
The Mountain Lodge has a GORGEOUS setting in the back to provide for weddings. They offer a clean indoor pool for guests to enjoy. Edison lights lace the outdoors with a waterfall falling over rocks- very pretty.
ALL in all, if you have tossed and turned with thoughts of where to provide lodging- have a function at the Mountain Lodge or considered having your wedding here--- DO SO.
The staff here are WONDERFUL! From the front desk to the cleaning staff- the guy walking around who knew everyone's name, to the wonderful staff who provided a delicious breakfast I consider myself so lucky to have picked this site- those people. All I can say is THANK YOU GUYS!

We could not have asked for a better venue to hold our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception. The staff made planning and executing these events run smoothly and as stress free as possible. Chris, Wendy, and the rest of the Mountain Lodge team made our wedding weekend even better! Yes, we got to know everyone by name! We had a block of rooms for ourselves, family, and friends that all traveled far distances. From the beginning, the staff was professional, friendly, and helpful. Wendy made calls to the neighboring hotel for additional rooms, they allowed us to set up a sign and sign up sheets for our shuttle to/from venue, rooms were available early, and they went out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. Not only did we just stay there, but the Mountain Lodge also hosted our rehearsal dinner in one of their conference rooms which turned out better than I expected. It was absolutely beautiful. It was the perfect place for us that felt like home before and after our wedding. Thanks Mountain Lodge Team! We will be back!

Beautiful, welcoming & relaxing!

Can’t say enough good things about Wendy and the rest of the staff. We had our wedding out by the waterfall and Wendy was there to make sure everything went according to plan from wedding to reception.

Oh my gosh, I cannot say enough good about the Mountain Lodge in Flat Rock, NC. I worked with Wendy for the rehearsal dinner and did everything through email, phone and credit card as I was hours away. Never stepped foot in the place until the actual rehearsal dinner and it was perfect! The food was delicious and the service was excellent and the place looked elegant. I would highly recommend using them!

Scott and Wendy were amazing with everything. Quick to respond to all my questions, super helpful all throughout the wedding experience, and very reassuring! They even let me move my reception inside at the last minute (due to the weather). They’re just both really good at what they do. The venue is beautiful. I chose to have my ceremony, reception, and hotell all in the same place and did our catering through them as well. So convenient! And everyone enjoyed the food and kept getting compliments on how pretty the ceremony was outside. No regrets at ALL! I loved having my wedding here and I’m very grateful for the wonderful staff that helped make everything how I wanted. Perfect 10/10! ❤️

Nick and I are beyond satisfied! The venue you choose for the ceremony sets the tone for absolutely every other thing you do in the wedding planning process! It was an amazing interaction with Mountain Lodge of Flat Rock from day one, and it only got better over time. They treat you with the utmost respect! Scott was extremely helpful, and was always there to offer suggestions or let us know what our options were. In the end, the decision was ours to make. I LOVED that, because so many other professionals make you feel pressured into choosing one decision or another. He told us "This is your day, it's your call. I want you to be happy." There was a 35% chance of rain, and we had planned on having our wedding outside in the courtyard. The ceremony start time was 12, and allowed us to wait until 10:30 to make the call. We chose to risk it, and he made sure to have everything in place! The weather was perfect, and we didn't have a drop of rain during any of our wedding festivities. When you're a bride, you naturally stress out about the smallest little detail BUT he was the calming voice. How can one be so calm & collected? PERFECT. Our menu was so tasty! To start, they provided Hor d'oeuvres (Spinach & Artichoke Dip with flatbread, Meatballs, and a beautiful cheese/cracker/fruit display) For the main course, our wedding guests were able to have Chicken Cordon Bleu, Beef Tips, Herb Roasted Potatoes, Hearty Macaroni & Cheese, Green Beans, and Rolls. The staff was accommodating in every way, the catering was phenomenal, and the experience was/is irreplaceable! We highly recommend choosing Mountain Lodge of Flat Rock, and working with Scott Mutchmore!

For the Wedding Planning experience - Mary and her team were absolutely amazing. I was one of those people that wasn't sure if I needed a wedding planner (what a joke). Looking back on that day - there is NO WAY I could have had everything run so smoothly. I had no stress because I knew everything was handled. It ended up being everything I wanted and more. I would not have changed a single thing and it was all due to Mary and her team's guidance. Can't wait to call Mary to help plan my 10 year anniversary party!

My husband and I just married on 11/5/2016 and it was amazing. The food was amazing, my room, the help of the staff. Every was perfect. I couldn't have picked a better place! Thanks to Scott and to Mary as well. My guests had a wonderful time. They loved the food and beautiful waterfall back drop. We loved it. Best day ever.

I couldn’t thank Mary and the staff of Mountain Lodge enough for all of the hard work and time put into making my wedding day so special -- everything was absolutely perfect! My husband and I are from Atlanta and planning a destination wedding seemed as though it was going to be a daunting task; however, Mary and Scott made it easy and stress-free. In the months leading up to our wedding Mary was always available to reach and was well organized regarding the timeline of the weekend. All of the vendors we worked with through the Mountain Lodge were cooperative and successfully captured my visions. And, we and our guests felt at home at the Mountain Lodge. The staff at the lodge not only made sure that everyone was well-accommodated, but knew everyone in our group and felt like family by the end of the weekend!

Mary Bell Events was a huge blessing to my husband and I. We were planning this wedding in our home state all the way from Oklahoma and if we didn't have Mary I don't think the wedding would have been a quarter of what it was. Mary took my vision and made it a complete fairy tale. With the help of her and Leigh my wedding went off without a problem. If there were any problems, I sure was not aware of that and I truly appreciate it because everything went so smoothly. I would recommend Mary Bell and her team to everyone. They were truly a blessing in a most stressful time. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

This venue is absolutely amazing!! Mary and Scott went above and beyond for us to ensure that day was everything we wanted! Their hospitality is out of this world! And for that we are forever greatful! You will feel like family when you walk through the door! Venue is a must!

My wedding day was absolutely perfect and I owe so much of that to the Mountain Lodge. Scott, Mary Bell, and the entire staff treated my husband, me, and our wedding guests as if we were their family. We had the rehearsal dinner and the reception at the Mountain Lodge and it was the accommodations for all of our guests, as most were from Florida. The rehearsal dinner took place on the gorgeous patio! We had an amazing blue grass band thanks to Mary Bell's recommendation. Scott even did our toast at the rehearsal dinner. They truly felt like our family. The reception was stunning. The Mountain Lodge has beautiful centerpieces and Mary Bell added a special touch when she told me of submerging flowers in water, which Scott helped make happen on the day of the wedding. The Mountain Lodge is such a special place, any bride would be lucky to get married there!

I loved having my wedding reception here!! It was not only beautiful but reasonably priced as well. The fountain in the back made for great pictures and my husband and I even stayed for free and guests could stay for a discounted rate as well. I really enjoyed everything about the Mountain Lodge!

Mountain Lodge was very accommodating to our needs for a wedding reception venue. Their staff were all very friendly and personable. My favorite part was how they helped us select the food & entertainment; they had a set list of options we were able to choose from and then we still were able to personalize certain aspects of it. For instance they were able to get a raw oyster bar from the exact region we wanted and set us up with a champagne toast. Great venue and staff.

The Mountain Lodge went above and beyond what we were expecting. Mary Bell was wonderful and I would not have had the perfect wedding without her. The Mountain Lodge was all inclusive and allowed my now husband and I to have the easiest wedding planning.

My wedding at the Lodge was amazing! Mary Bell did a fantastic job at making sure everything went off without a hitch! We had to change up our ceremony location because of weather, but Mary made the process smooth and easy. She made sure we had everything we needed, recommended amazing vendors and was a great planner. We used their All-Inclusive package, so Mary found all the vendors for us, and set up everything making the process easy for us. Everyone she recommended was fantastic and made our day special and beautiful! The food at the Lodge was fantastic, and all the staff were very helpful and kind. I would recommend the Lodge and Mary Bell to anyone looking for a beautiful setting, wonderful help, and a once in a lifetime experience!

Everyone is wonderful! Our food was fabulous; numerous guests were thrilled to have so much variety! The service was second to none! Rooms are clean and spacious. The staff worked diligently to make sure everything was just right!

Mary, we were very pleased with the turnout at the wedding. The hosting was perfect; the staff was kind and courteous and the food was the subject of discussion for several days after the reception and even after we returned from our honeymoon! I was able to have a little of everything and was thoroughly pleased with all of the food.

We used the Mountain Lodge for our rehearsal dinner and also blocked off rooms for out-of-towners to stay in. The food was delicious (best lasagna ever) and the decor was simply beautiful. Most of our families travel often and absolutely loved the rooms at the Mountain Lodge. Beautiful and great to do business with. Highly recommended!

All I can say is WOW !!! Everything I asked for was brought to life! My dream wedding came true and was magical thanks to the amazing and very professional staff!! The view outside with the waterfall was the perfect background.. Scott was the best and made everything perfect, very well organized to the T!!! Mary bell was beyond helpful in any questions I had!! Hornets Nest Region Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) stayed for a long weekend with 85 families and our Antique cars in June. The Mountain Lodge was a perfect venue to facilitate access to the surrounding events in and around Hendersonville. We will come again. Thanks Roger and Amy Tetrault

BLUF: The team at Mountain Lodge is phenomenal and worked very diligently to make our Wedding beautiful and our families comfortable.

Mary Bell is an exceptional wedding coordinator. My husband and I are both military and were planning a destination wedding to NC during a very busy time in our careers. Most of our correspondence was through email. Mary Bell worked with us through all of our time constraints and limited communications using very concise worksheets and being flexible with our budget to give us exactly what we wanted.

Special thank you to Scott, the owner and manager. He was the first person I met when I arrived and was incredibly kind. His entire staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our entire wedding party came from all corners of the United States and the majority stayed at the lodge. Everyone was very comfortable as the staff met their every need. Traveling so far, in and of itself it expensive; so it meant a lot that they were willing to provide special rates for the party.

Mary Bell worked with a team of vendors to meet our needs. Our florist, Gina, made beautiful arrangements that I loved so much, I want them for every anniversary! We were happy with the taste of the wedding cake; however, we were assured by the owner of Joyful Times Bakery that our cake would look exactly like the photo we provided. I was disappointed because it looked nothing like the photo. The ministry group provided a well compounded list of verbiage that make choosing your words wisely, easy. Throughout the evening, my wedding party complimented the dedication & friendliness of our photographer, John. The catering provided by Mountain Lodge was delicious. Most everyone had seconds throughout the evening.

We looked for venues in 3 states and Mountain Lodge was the best choice for us!

We held a 65 year anniversary party for our parents at The Mountain Lodge. We had a large party and a large amount of guests from out of town. On Friday night we had a Birthday party for our Dad outside. Scott and the staff were incredibly helpful and delightful to work with. Everything about the event was wonderful.The food was great and Scott and Mary were very helpful in helping us find a DJ and photographer etc. I can't say enough about how easy they made it for us and how accommodating they were. The venue itself is very nice and the outside area is lovely. The rooms are clean and very nice.

We recently used the Mountain Lodge as a home base for the weekend of our son's wedding. We had the Rehearsal dinner there on that Friday night for about 62 people. We were given a wide array of menu choices and a tour of the facility. The hotel provided tasteful centerpieces ( we could have used our own, but didn't have to), white table linens and napkins in our choice of color. I was able to bring some personal items to complete the table settings. The atmosphere was lovely. The food was ready and waiting when we returned from the rehearsal. They provided all the setup and clean up! This was a bonus for me! We also had about 5 rooms for lodging occupied that weekend. The rooms were comfortable and attractive. The continental breakfast was well stocked each morning and fresh. The staff was always very hands on and helpful. I really can't say enough good things about our experience there. My husband and I went to the beach right after the wedding, Of course we stayed at a different hotel, I can't tell you how many times we said things like," Scott would never let this happen at the Mountain Lodge". They have a well run establishment. Its refreshing to see! I give my recommendation without any hesitation what so ever!

We actually booked a rehearsal party with cocktails and heavy hors d'oeuvres. I made a call to Mountain Lodge and spoke with Mary Bell and gave her an idea of what I wanted and our budget. She made several suggestions, we agreed on a menu and I didn't have to do another thing but show up. We did go by and see the room we used prior to paying the deposit on a trip back from SC to TN. Mountain Lodge provided all the linens and table decorations. The chef was very accomodating also, and helpful in offering numerous choices for our gluten free guests. The owner Scott and the rest of his staff are very friendly and make one feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend their facility for an event and/or accomodations. We did use both.

One of the things I liked the most is that I asked for an all inclusive price and I got it. There were no surprises or additional fees to worry about.

Scott & Mary provided the wedding of my dreams. We had the wedding outside at the waterfall and the reception inside the banquet hall. IT WAS GORGEOUS!!!!! They provided flowers, catering, everything you can think of to make our day special with no stress. It was perfect. The entire staff went above and beyond our expectations. The Mountain Lodge is where we held the reception for our wedding. Scott was extremely helpful, especially when the chapel called us a week before the wedding because they had double-booked us and we had to change our time to 4 hours later in the day! Everything shifted 4 hours and Scott and his team pulled off the reception beautifully!

We had our wedding at the Mountain Lodge in Flat Rock, Nc and it could not have been more beautiful. The staff is a beyond helpful and amazing and made sure everything was taken care of from the center pieces to my bouqet down to the cake. Everything turned out truly amazing. Scott the owner was exceptionally wonderful and helped fill all of our needs and MORE. He is so personable with all his guest that you feel like you've known him forever. I could not have asked for a better place to have my wedding, Which was not just one day long, we did a destination and had about 50 people flying in and stayed Fri-Sunday and were treated amazingly through our entire visit. I highly recommend the mountain lodge for your wedding, anniversary, or any special event because they definitely take the stress out of planning and take care of everything just the way you imagine or want it to be. I can't thank the staff enough for turning my day into a fairy tale and can't wait to come back for our one year anniversary !!

This was a FABULOUS site for our Son and Daughter-in-Law 's wedding rehearsal dinner. The accommodations for our out of town guests were superb. Scott and his staff went above and beyond our expectations!!! The food and the service were excellent. I would definitely recommend this venue for your special event!!!

I loved the Mountain Lodge, it was a great location. Convenient from the highway and surprisingly quiet outdoor setting. Had a wonderful indoor ceremony!

Scott and his team made me and all of my guests feel welcome, comfortable, and like they were happy to help in any way they could. Every time there was a blip in schedule, accommodations, timing, planning, ANYTHING, Scott immediately solved it, fixed it, and eased my mind, all at them same time. I used to be a DJ for weddings and I have never seen a wedding go so smoothly as ours did. Mountain Lodge thinks of everything! Scott anticipates your needs and has them completed before you even know you need them, and if you need something, he is right on it, no questions asked, no hassle, no fuss, and a smile to boot! Every single one of my guests commented on how nice the accommodations were at Mountain Lodge and how helpful the staff were. My Maid of Honor has a disability and is in a wheelchair - Mountain Lodge was able to accommodate all of her needs as well.

I can not say enough about Scott and his team at the Mountain Lodge. After searching for the perfect spot for our wedding, we were sold on the lodge for many reasons. First, Scott is seriously the nicest most helpful person you will ever meet. It was an absolute pleasure working with him and his entire team. Everyone was so nice and helpful any time I was in for planning and meeting with them. I never had to worry about a thing because I knew everything was being taken care of and that the day would turn out perfectly which it did. The space was beautiful which allowed minimal investment in decorations. Everything from the outside waterfall, to the lodge/fireplace entrance, to the banquet room was perfect. The food was delicious! People are still commenting almost a year later how wonderful it was, the best wedding they had ever been to. It was also a wonderful deal for all that you get. If you want a wedding where you work with a team who truly cares about you and puts your mind at ease about putting off the perfect wedding, then the lodge is the best choice for your wedding.

The Mountain Lodge make our wedding absolutely perfect! We used them the night before our wedding for a rehearsal dinner and dessert reception and then for our wedding reception. The staff was so helpful and extremely personable. Our guests are still commenting about how much fun they had at our wedding and how amazing the Mountain Lodge staff was. They are awesome at helping you capture your vision and pulling all of the details together. They had beautiful decorations we were able to use and made our reception area look even more beautiful than I imagined. I am so thankful that we chose the Mountain Lodge. Not only was it the most reasonable price we found, but they went above and beyond what any of us expected. I never had to worry about anything because the staff was already on it. The rooms are also beautiful and very spacious. Our guests really enjoyed staying here, and I would strong recommend The Mountain Lodge to anyone.

Scott is amazing. he was so helpful and really made my daughters wedding perfect. it was exactly what she wanted. it rained and all she wanted was to get married in front of the waterfall so she did in the rain. it was wet and cold but it was perfect. thank you so much Scott and all the staff at mountain lodge.

Wendy was absolutely great to work with. Since our new son-in-law is in the Coast Guard, the potential for needing to change the date was a concern. Wendy assured us that she would work with us on tha and indeed, we did need to change the date. It was handled with one phone call, no problem! Went helped us every step of the way, even allowing us access to the room to measure/plan.the entire staff was wonderful, the food excellent! Everyone is still talking about “the best wedding ever!”

Great Venue for a Wedding for up to 90 guests. It is right off Exit 53 on 26 very easy for out of town guests to get too, but the back of the lodge is the selling point. Beautiful for an outdoor wedding would think you were in the woods. The staff was wonderful, kind, and very accommodating.

The Mountain Lodge provided lodging for our out of town guests for the wedding weekend of June 13-14 for my daughters wedding at The Cliffs at Glassy.
In addition, the Lodge supplied a hospitality suite for our guests to gather for the weekend and the welcome party after the rehearsal dinner was held at The Mountain Lodge.
The staff was a tremendous help in planning and carrying out all of the things we needed done for the weekend.
They helped to set up the hospitality suite, placed hospitality boxes in all of the guests rooms, set up for the welcome party as well as providing staff for the event, and provided excellent customer service for the whole weekend.
All of our guests could not say enough about how courteous and helpful all of the staff was for the whole weekend.

Mary Bell and Scott were very responsive to our needs. The service was first rate. The setting was perfect for the rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception.

I got engage and dug right into looking for venues, know this would be the one thing I needed to lock in early for the date I wanted. Contacted this venue through Wedding Wire's messaging system in late August-early September. They replied back 9-21-21 and symply told me they didn't have the date I was looking at. Okay fine the date wasn't a hard set, so I messaged back asking about a different date. Its been 2 and a half months and no reply.

My wife and I booked The Lodge at Flat Rock for our wedding on October 10, 2020. A few months before this date, we had to postpone our date until April 10, 2021, to comply with local and state guidelines regarding COVID-19. At the end of 2020, we realized that our new date also would not be able to come to fruition due to the unknown status of COVID-19 guidelines. We made the decision to suspend our wedding indefinitely and hold a small family gathering at home for our marriage. Since this pandemic is an Act of God circumstance with laws and regulations preventing us from having our originally scheduled wedding event, we reached out to the venue to kindly provide a refund of our $1,000 deposit. They responded back and declined to release our funds despite the laws against us from being able to have our wedding. They claimed we signed an agreement with a non-refundable deposit clause. When asked to provide us with the mentioned signed contract, The Lodge at Flat Rock failed to show any evidence of such. They only sent over the pricing quote sheet. We had an attorney mail a certified letter to the business requesting that our deposit be released immediately, but no return contact was made after several weeks from the date of delivery. We are now taking this case to the NC Department of Justice's Consumer Protection Division, as well as other online review platforms to share our negative experience and recover our $1,000 deposit that is being unlawfully withheld by this establishment.
