    Absolutely Beautiful!

There are so many great features about this one place. The setting up our wedding with Pheobe has been most delightful. She is very responsive and informative of all the wedding planning. The staff at Kenmore inn made our wedding go very smoothly especially during this hard time with COVID. I highly recommend anyone that is going to get married or have an event at Kenmore Inn to do so. You will not regret it!

My husband and I loved having our wedding at the Kenmore Inn. From Jacquie the head chef and manager to the rest of the staff, everyone was amazing! The venue is just beautiful and the food was amazing! Very accommodating for 85 people. We had our ceremony in the courtyard in the fall and it was just beautiful. Due to having such beautiful landscaping and the inside being so beautiful and usually decorated for the season, we did not have to spend extra money on flowers besides bouquets and boutonnieres. Jacquie was very detail oriented and was great at suggestions. The venue, since being a bed and breakfast, was easily accessible to bring other vendors by to show. We loved the venue so much we had our rehearsal dinner there and the bridal shower. What was the best part was the cost of the venue, services, and food compared to so many other venues in the area. Also, we were able to put our own personal touches on the event and had many choices to choose from. We stayed the night, as did our wedding party and the breakfast was awesome! The rooms are beautiful! We look forward to future dinners at the Kenmore!

We recently held our wedding ceremony at The Kenmore Inn. It is a great venue and the staff were very professional and easy to work with. While we were lucky with the weather, the dining room, tavern area and main floor would have been spacious enough to accomodate our party even if had rained. (There were 70 in our party, and the Inn could have accomodated at least 15 more guests comfortably -- maybe more, I'm not sure of the ceiling.) Very glad we decided on the Kenmore; the bride's family stayed in the inn and were very comfortable. There's also lots to do within walking distance -- the historic Old Town district. Was a great choice!

The Inn was exceptional! They did all the food and drinks, plus set up for both the ceremony and reception. They were very helpful and professional! I highly recommend this venue!

We are an older couple who wanted a small family wedding, including grandchildren. Jacqui, the manager and chef was very accommodating and knowledgeable. Our menu choices were outstanding, and the food fabulous. The venue itself was transformed and was elegant and lovely. She helped us pick wine, and suggested other vendors. We were very pleased with everything. It went flawlessly.

Beautiful venue for a reception or even a ceremony (although we didn't have our ceremony there). The staff is fantastic, very personalized service. They were great to deal with, very flexible, organized, friendly, and on top of everything. All I really had to do was pick out table linens, the food choices, and what date to have the reception! Marion and Emily were fantastic event coordinators. The staff was very professional and polite. The food was AMAZING, my husband and I actually made it a point to sit down and eat dinner. All of our guests told us what a fantastic dinner it was, and how beautiful the house was. We were so pleased with everything! The value for the quality of services can't be beat!
Thank you to the Kenmore Inn!

We held our wedding at the Kenmore on 2/25/2017 and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day! All of the bridesmaids and my family stayed at the Inn the night before and the night of the wedding. We all felt completely at-home. The rooms were gorgeous and extremely comfortable. The breakfast that is included with the room is incredible, get the french toast! The staff for the wedding made sure everything ran smoothly, dinner came out timely despite being a plated meal, and the decorations were set up exactly how I envisioned without my having to provide any direction. A few of our guests have told us it was one of the best weddings they've ever been to! My bridesmaids and I were able to relax while getting ready instead of helping to set up. Multiple wedding guests raved about our cocktail hour/dinner menu, despite being a pescatarian/vegetarian menu. Jackie made buffalo cauliflower wontons for one of our hors d'oeurves and they were the hit of the night. This venue is probably the most incredible venue in the Fredericksburg area considering the quality of service received for the cost (very reasonable). We are so pleased that we decided to host our wedding here :)

A beautiful historic inn that made for a great ceremony location. They were a little late setting up for us, but we were able to start on time regardless. You can't beat the gorgeous pictures taken here!

Great staff. Beautiful venue. Undesirable owners.

Had the honor of having our dream wedding at the Kenmore Inn / Ironclad Inn on May 11th. It turned out to be an absolutely beautiful wedding and made for some amazing memories. That being said, our experience with the new owners, was less than desirable. For some backstory, our venue contract (use of the entire Inn) was gifted to us by the general manager and former owner of the Kenmore Inn prior to the sale of the Inn.

During the time leading up to the sale of the Inn, wedding planning had ensued and plans were made, paid for, etc. to various vendors with the impression that we would have use of the entire inn, as per our contract. At the changing of hands, we were assured that since the new owners had purchased the Inn, our contract was included, and our wedding would proceed as scheduled in accordance with the contract. However, every step of the way leading up to the wedding, the new owners made the wedding process a nightmare, more of a wedding planning headache than necessary. Of course, we knew with new ownership came changes and modifications to the venue and we would have to roll with the punches. We watched as the new owners brought in large amounts of furniture into what would be the ceremony / dance floor space, a full merchandise and seating area in what was going to be the photo-booth area, etc. all major stressors in the late stages of wedding planning. With much back and forth, the owners finally agreed to move the furniture out for the wedding, but it would not be scheduled to be moved out until the morning of the wedding, fine.

Fast forward to the morning of the wedding, the furniture movers had arrived and we were able to breathe thinking that everything was going to be cleared out for the wedding, we were wrong. Come 12:30 pm, we noticed people that were NOT part of/ guests of our wedding entering the downstairs of the Inn. Turns out, the owners had decided to open the Tasting room downstairs, despite the fact that the general manager had requested against it as it would affect set up for the wedding and we were told everything including the merchandise would be out by 10am that morning. Our day of coordinator, went down around 2:15pm to determine when they would be closing and clearing out so that we could set up and was told by one of the bar staff that the owner was out to lunch but they were scheduled to be open until 4pm (the ceremony was set to start at 4:30 pm). We were livid. The coordinator again went down and waited to speak with the owner who rudely stated that she was simply doing my now husband a favor (letting us have our wedding there) and that they would be closing soon and to give them another 20 minutes or so. After 20 minutes, the coordinator again went downstairs where people had just gotten served another round and it seemed that last call had not yet been given, to which the owner again said it’ll be another 20 minutes. At this point we were told the photo-booth vendor had arrived and was unable to set up as the tasting room was occupying the space needed. I was furious and my father and bridesmaid decided to go downstairs and talk to the owner, who once again was rude and made it a point to say that it was all just a favor to my husband (despite us having a contract) and that it would still be a few more minutes. Finally around ~3:15pm all of the tasting room guests were out and the vendors scrambled to get merchandise and furniture moved and stuff set up for the wedding. There was no way that it would have all been done in time had they closed at 4pm as was originally intended.

Finally, the wedding! Yay! - the ceremony went smoothly, cocktail hour was great, bridal party got photos done with a few interruptions by various Ironclad guests asking if the tasting room was open or closed. Reception went well. A few of our guests made comments to us that the owner had been glaring at our guests during the party time and made them uncomfortable.

Overall, the actual wedding was better than we could have ever imagined thanks to the amazing family, friends, and vendors that we selected to help us celebrate our big day. The Kenmore Inn will always hold a special place in our heart and we appreciate all that the Inn staff did to make our day go as smooth as possible. But after everything, the Kenmore Inn (under the new ownership) would not be my recommendation to another bride. I’m not sure if it was just that our contract was a gift that made the owners treat our wedding as less important or what; but it definitely made us lose respect for the new owners and their company.

    No refund for canceled wedding

Do not use this vendor! The Kenmore Inn refuses to return our $1900 deposit after canceling our wedding due to the Covid-19 restrictions. Additionally, the Kenmore Inn let their chef and wait staff go and could not provide the experience that was agreed to contractually.
