When we walked into the Iron Horse Hotel we knew we had to have our wedding ceremony there! It is an absolutely beautiful venue and since we had a winter wedding we needed a place our guests would enjoy hanging out in for a couple hours (and our guests raved about how neat it was!). We held our ceremony in The Gallery downstairs, which was very modern but had great ambiance once we added some soft globe lights strung along the ceiling, which the hotel provided. We rented the room for 2 hours (3o min. ceremony) and I thought it was very reasonably priced compared to some of the other venues we looked at. The hotel staff took care of chair setup and take down and someone was on hand at all times if we needed anything. Jessica, who I worked with to coordinate everything, was wonderful to work with. She was very promt with responses to emails and made sure everything went smoothly. I stayed at the hotel the night before the wedding in one of the suites and the rooms are stunning! With our wedding block we were able to reserve rooms for our guests at a competitive price compared to other nice hotels in the area. We also loved that we were able to do photos with our wedding party throughout the hotel, which lead to some really beautiful shots! Brunch at Smyth is a must the day after!! I would highly recommend The Iron Horse for anyone who wants a unique venue!

Jessica Lange provided such great service in planning our wedding.
The hotel itself was perfect for us. Everything was perfect.
If you're getting married in Milwaukee, the outdoor space, "The Yard" at The Iron Horse is a must see.

We had our reception in the Library at the Iron Horse and it was absolutely perfect. The provided everything I needed: decor, linen, bartender, bar, food, and great seating/table options. They asked me what I wanted and made sure it happened. After the reception we all went to the yard which was wonderful for a hot summer night.

My husband and I had an amazing experience hosting our wedding ceremony outside in The Yard and our reception in the Gallery. The whole process was easy and amazing thanks to Jill, Convention Services Manager. We would not have asked for a more beautiful location, great food, and great people to work with. It was truly the best day of both of our lives.

My husband and I are thrilled with how our wedding turned out. The day-of went off without a hitch, thanks to the wonderful Iron Horse staff. The food was to die for! All of the guests (including our vegetarian and non-red meat eater guests) enjoyed their meals. We had several comments on how wonderful the food was, including the dessert buffet. The staff was timely and did a great job cleaning off tables, making sure everyone had drinks, etc. The room was set up just as planned and the bartenders are pros. They are very professional and the value of what we got for what we paid is amazing! If I could do it all over again, I would and it would be at the Iron Horse!

We had our wedding for 45 people in the library at the iron horse. From start to finish, Jill (banquet manager) was super accomodating and assisted us through the entire process with professionalism and kindness. Our guests raved about how gorgeous the venue was and how great the food was.. Can't say enough good things about our experience!!

I just had my wedding reception there on 09/29/2012 (I used the lobby & library) I have nothing but good things to say about the Iron Horse Hotel.

From the beginning, the wedding coordinator was great, answering all my questions, making sure that everything is taken care of and assisting with making sure the right credit card was used for the food & alcohol. I have heard nothing but great reviews about the food from my guests. They all said that it was amazing and very good. I didn't eat much because I was running around talking but from the little bits I was able to eat, they were amazing.

The hotel rooms themselves were beautiful. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom is awesome (well the showers were the best part of it). They also had robes we can use!

I would highly recommend the Iron Horse to anyone.

Wonderful wedding venue! The staff make sure to make it beautiful, even if you plan on having it outdoors and it rains! They were so wonderful, especially Kelly who came in on her day off and set up the entire Gallery with decor they had in storage so that by the time I got there I couldn't help but be happy even with the rain. Food was delicious, and everyone who stayed at the hotel was incredibly impressed by the service!

Lovely Hotel & Great for a Wedding Block

My husband and I got married on April 16, 2022 at The Ivy House in Walker’s Point. We needed a hotel for the weekend, for ourselves and guests. The Iron Horse was nearby our venue and exactly what we were looking for to fit the overall theme of our wedding. Our experience with them started out a bit rocky, but turned out to be amazing! We struggled with our back and forth communications with the first person in charge of our room block. Halfway through, we were assigned someone else (Amanda) who was extremely helpful and easy to work with.

We had quite a large block at the Iron Horse, and Amanda made us feel confident in our stay. The Iron Horse definitely lives up to the hype! The beauty of this hotel is obvious the second you step inside the lobby. The rooms are gorgeous, especially our suite with the incredible view! We enjoyed hanging out at the bar, and plenty of our guests ate breakfast at the restaurant in the lobby. A lot of our guests were hesitant about staying here because of the price, but ultimately said it was worth it. Everyone enjoyed their stay and had such positive remarks about the building, and staff. Thank you for a lovely weekend, Iron Horse!

This is a very difficult review to write. We held our wedding in "The Yard" space outdoors in September. I fell in love with the space the first time I saw it as it is one of the most unique spaces in all of Milwaukee. We used the outdoor couches and tables/ lounges to seat our guests and had them set in a arc overlooking the beautiful 6th St. bridge. I loved the hotel staff and stayed at the hotel the night of and night before the wedding as well as the week before so my photographer could do a Boudouir shoot as a wedding gift to my husband. It was great. The hotel staff are top notch wonderful people, the manager of The Yard was outstanding.... Unfortunately Diane Crowley, the person incharge of our event was anything but. She was great when she thought we were going to spend a fortune on the event, but when we heard the price just for passed champagne, we opted against any refreshments at the wedding itself as we already had an open bar and coctail hour at our reception site (Cuvee in the 3rd Ward). After that, the rental of the space was just 500, Diane was nothing but rude and out right mean and disrespectful. She had me in tears 20 minutes before the ceremony simply because I wanted to use a back door so my husand woudln't see me. She refused, I figured there must be something going on on the other side of the door. When The Yard manager heard this, he wisped me through the door with no problem and what was on the other side aboslutely nothing. Every comment out of Dianne's mouth was mentioning keeping things "Cheap" and making sure it was "cheap for us" etc. I could not have been any more unhappy with her. She made it very clear that she didn't want us there all because of how much money we weren't spending. She couldn't have made us feel any less important or more insignificant that she did. The morning of the wedding (a Friday in mid September) my mother and I were brining some decorations to the space. It was closed for the day until after our event so there was nothing to worry about and had already been given permission to do so. While we were there she brought in a prospective client. Not only did she go out of her way to ignore us but she began talking about and commenting on us to the woman. There was no one else in the space... NO ONE and she did not acknowledge our presence, welcome us, wish me luck offer any assitance etc. Later the only thing she had to say to me was to make sure we were out of the space by the specified time so they could open the bar. Thankfully the manager of The Yard, was far more professional and personable than Diane. To rate the Hotel minus Dianne I'd give it a 5.0 to rate Diane and her service I'd give it a 1.5 at the most. If you are considering this space I recommend it. The outdoor space is much more uniqe than any of the indoor sapces, and I would highly suggest you demand NOT to deal with Dianne. Literally every other employee was fantastic.

Hate the facility, love the staff

So I will start by saying that I absolutely adored the staff at the Iron Horse. Heaven and Hannah, the engineer guy whose name I never got because they always just called him "the engineer", Kevin from the kitchen; were what made my day special. I give the staff 10/10 stars✨

Now onto the facility itself. You get 1/10 stars. I specifically choose to have an indoor wedding because I hate the heat and was getting married in Aug. I would choose to get married in a slimy ugly cold cave over a beautiful hot venue any day. Some people have angry alter egos when they drink, I have an angry alter ago when I'm hot. And let me tell you I was melting like a lit candle, sweating like I have never sweat before in my life, the room was spinning no matter how much water I drank, I was unfortunately a soggy bride.. my worst nightmare. My guests commented on how hot and sticky it was and they were shocked, they expecting it to be an ice box inside because of how hot it was outside. Not only was the ceremony/reception area hot and sticky but so was my room! Every vendor that came into the room (makeup, hair, photography) commented on how hot and musty it was in the room. No one else's room was hot except mine, but unfortunately we couldn't move rooms to theirs because only mine could fit all us. There was about 5 of us getting ready and 34 guests at the wedding. After telling the front desk they brought up one fan to my room. That everyone in the room would have to take turns sitting infront of to cool off. I have a lot of getting ready photos of people just standing in front of the fan. Also apparently they only own one fan because they were using it before the ceremony to cool the room off then after the ceremony brought it back up. It was so bad that at one point after the ceremony and dinner I went up stairs and showered off. Unfortunately, I then got a foot cramp from being so dehydrated and hot that I was 30 minutes late to my first dance.

When I toured the building I specifically asked Alma why it was so hot because I can't tolerate heat well. She assured me that the AC was turned down due to limited capacity dbecause ofcovid. We toured in June 2020. She said it would be cool for my wweddingand that was a lie. Also it was not limited capacity at the hotel at the time of my wedding as there were 4 wedding events happening there that weekend 🙄

If the heat was not an issue my day would have been perfect. So if your going to book the library room for a wedding or stay in the corner alcove room do so in the cooler months or if you dreamed of getting married in a sauna then book in the summer.
