We had our winter wedding at the Philadelphia Horticulture Center at Fairmount Park, and I truly cannot say enough amazing things about this venue. Olivia and her team mde it pure magic from start to finish.
The space is absolutely stunning — even in the winter, it feels like you’re stepping into a romantic garden oasis. The greenery, natural light, and elegant greenhouse vibe create the perfect mix of cozy and breathtaking, and our guests could not stop talking about how unique and beautiful it was and also how good the food and cocktails were. The setting is naturally gorgeous, which made our photos look like something out of a magazine.
The venue flows beautifully for a wedding — from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception — and it felt intimate, warm, and inviting while still being spacious enough to celebrate comfortably. The winter atmosphere made it even more special: romantic, glowing, and timeless.
If you’re looking for a Philadelphia wedding venue that feels elevated, charming, and unforgettable, the Horticulture Center is it. It’s a true hidden gem in the city and was the perfect backdrop for the most incredible day of our lives.
We are so grateful we chose this venue — it was everything we dreamed of and more. Highly, highly recommend! -

Stunning venue - the display garden is truly a one in a million place to get married. We initially planned to have our cocktail hour outdoors as we wanted to highlight the reflecting pool but unfortunately the weather didn’t permit - we had cocktail hour inside and it was still incredible. The whole team there was impressive and the food was truly delicious. My standards for wedding food are pretty low but it was excellent, and many of our guests commented that it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had (and they’d eat it again if they could). The whole team was lovely to work with. So, so glad we got married here!! -

A Fairytale
The Fairmount Park Horticulture Center was the venue of our dreams. It combines the the feeling of nature with the security of a climate-controlled indoor venue. Gail and The Hort staff made our wedding day seamless and all of the details were exactly as we had desired. Though it was pricey, we felt it was deserved. My husband and I received countless compliments from our guests on how stunned they were with the venue and how special it felt compared to a typical venue. Thank you to all of the staff for making our day an absolute fairytale.

Our wedding was at the Fairmount Horticultural Center in October. The day was absolutely magical! Every single detail came together in a way that absolutely exceeded every expectation that I ever had for my wedding! It was just perfect in every way. My family and friends couldn’t get over the space and how different it was from your typical wedding. I need to say that Gail helped us navigate moving our wedding due to Covid and answered every frantic email I had to finalizing the details. For the day of Adam Fisher was the MVP he was incredibly helpful and since I didn’t have a coordination stepped up on a huge way for us. I will forever be great full for the hard work and attention to detail for the whole team there! They made my day perfect and I didn’t worry about a single thing! Thank you from my husband myself and my whole family for an experience of a lifetime! -

The Horticulture Center was by far the best venue that we visited when looking for our wedding venue. The space is large, absolutely gorgeous, and the exclusive catering team, Constellation Culinary, is unmatched in quality. We worked with Gail to coordinate our wedding day, and she was so great throughout the whole process. This was so important to us, as the wedding planning process can be very stressful but Gail was always quick to answer emails and provide clear and helpful responses. The night of the wedding, the team at the Horticulture Center was extremely professional and the servers, bartenders, and kitchen team did an amazing job. All of my guests were raving about how the venue is so gorgeous and how the food was amazing. I highly recommend the Horticulture Center to any engaged couple, it is an incredible space with the best and highest quality service. They will make your wedding the best wedding you've ever been to. -

Just amazing!
My husband and I recently got married at the Hort and I still feel like I’m dreaming! The venue was so beautiful, the food and service were amazing, and all of our guests had a blast! Gail was so great to work with, and all the staff at the venue on the night of our wedding were amazingly helpful and friendly. If you’re thinking of having a winter wedding, The Hort is your spot! -

Wow! There is nothing I would have changed about my daughter’s wedding at the “Hort”. Gail Ming saw to every detail and the evening was truly magical. The food was delicious - from the cocktail hour appetizers to my short rib dinner to the passed desserts. My daughter and son-in-law reported that the employee dedicated to the two of them for the evening ensured that they always had food, beverages, and anything they needed that evening. Service at our table was quick and professional. The venue was immaculate and looked like a fairyland at night. We did opt for air conditioning, the cost of which was shared with another customer on the previous night. Do get the A/C if it is going to be warm-hot. Thank-you, Fairmount Horticulture Center for the perfect night!!!! -

There was only one place we considered getting married and were so happy we did! Gail and the team at the Fairmount Park horticulture center are phenomenal!!!! The execution of our wedding was top notch. I haven’t had service like this at the best restaurant in philly. The team was flawless. Food was delicious. Venue beautiful. I mean just stellar! Thank you for everything. If you’re considering this venue go for it! There were some extra costs we didn’t expect but at the end of the day our guests were wowed and it was worth it! -
Jess Sent on 04/03/2018We got married on March 17 2018 ( St Paddys Day!!) We worked with both Leila and Gail who were extremely professional and accommodating. Wedding planning can be stressful and they definitely know how to plan accordingly and are available to answer any questions that will come up. Gail really helped closer to the date and made sure everything ran smoothly and according to our timeline on the big day!
The venue is the perfect place for both photos and a beautiful garden wedding. Since we got married in March, the weather is very unpredictable. This venue offers both an indoor space and outdoor space for your ceremony. The food is top quality, catered by Stephen Starr. The service was impeccable!
You are able to completely transform the space to however you envision your wedding to be. However, if you aren't into the diy wedding, the space and grounds are so beautiful, you don't have to do much to have a beautiful elegant wedding!The Horticulture Center's reply:

The Horticulture Center is such a beautiful venue to start as the canvas for a wedding. It’s one of the few places where your plans A and B were equally beautiful. Your event moves through the space throughout the night, giving you different places for your guests to mix and mingle. Everyone at Constellation is quite nice, the service staff night of was top notch - and overall had a good experience working with them. -

The Horticulture Center was a dream come true! Our family and friends are still talking about how magical the venue was, especially for a nighttime winter wedding. It far exceeded our wildest imagination, and we’re so happy we were able to share this amazing space with our out-of-town guests. The Constellation Culinary team was also equally amazing - so accommodating, communicative, lovely to work with. Thank you Leila and Gail for the absolute best night of our lives! It was absolutely unforgettable!!! -

The horticultural center is a stunning and unique wedding venue, and I would 100% choose it again and again. Gail and her staff provided flawless service and the package covers tables, chairs, market lights, linens, etc. All you need to pick out is a band and a florist! The food and service got rave reviews, and the venue is truly enchanting, intimate and special. Gail is an expert and was extremely invested and accommodating. She also has really good taste and helpful opinions since this venue is her baby.
I cannot write the review without mentioning the $8,500 air conditioning + tax cost if you book after Memorial Day, it was worth it, but something to work into your budget. Also, a lot of the mandatory preferred vendors are pricey with minimums like $2000 for extra lighting, and $4500 minimum for a black & white dance floor. The venue speaks for itself though, it has a magical quality and is so much more special than just a run of the mill ballroom. We couldn't be happier with our choice, and it wouldn't have been possible without Gail and the Constellation team; they truly set the standard for special events in Philadelphia. -
