We stayed at The Groton Inn for our room block in May 2025 as our wedding was at The Barn at Gibbet Hill down the road. It is a beautiful inn with wonderful accommodations. Their sales staff made the process of obtaining a room block stress free. They provided great communication during the planning process. We also hosted a welcome party in their Kings Retreat room. The apps and drinks served were delicious. Guests could enjoy the evening in the lovely courtyard as well. Highly recommend! -

The Groton Inn was a dream wedding venue, and Eleanor was the heart and soul of the experience. She guided us through every step of the planning process with such professionalism and warmth—it honestly felt like working with a close friend who also happens to be a total pro. On our wedding day, we were able to be fully present and just enjoy the moment because everything was handled—from setup to breakdown. We never felt like just another couple on the calendar; every detail was personal and intentional. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful and seamless the day was. We've worked with Eleanor and the events team at Groton Inn on several weddings for our mutual clients and we are always so happy to be there!
Every moment of the event is highly-organized and well-executed. There are several locations to hold your ceremony, cocktail hour in the courtyard is lovely, and the Prescott Room is a perfectly cozy space for events of 60-80 guests.
The staff is courteous and professional, the food is excellent, and the space has been well-designed for these kinds of affairs.
As live wedding entertainers, we've been to many wedding venues, and Groton Inn is one of our favorites. We can't wait to be back!The Groton Inn's reply:

We have nothing but rave reviews of our amazing wedding weekend at the beautiful and historic Groton Inn! We cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone considering the Inn for their special event. With its rural/suburban setting close to Boston and Manchester NH airports, the Groton Inn’s charming Main Street location was ideal for ourselves, our families, and out of town guests who needed overnight accommodations. The rooms were all spacious, immaculately clean and very well appointed, and guests took full advantage of various amenities like the gym, lounge areas and hallway beverage stations. The delicious daily breakfast and the bridal suite options added to the ease of us preparing for our day wedding which was held right around the corner at The Barn at Gibbett Hill. Everyone also appreciated the convenience of being able to walk to nearby hair salons, eateries, and other local businesses, and we loved spending time on the spacious porch and the courtyard visiting with our guests.
More specifically, we felt from our first meeting that we were in such good hands with Eleanor Keydel, Sales and Events Manager. She was so informative, efficient, well organized and thorough throughout the months’ long lead-up to our end of September wedding, and offered us much needed guidance and reassurance as we planned the table arrangement, decor and menus for both our Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Party which were held in the Inn’s beautiful Keep’s Conservatory. Eleanor was consistently quick to respond to emailed questions and phone messages, and made it so easy scheduling face to face meetings with her despite her busy schedule and our out of town location. The warm decor and intimate feel in the Keep’s Conservatory provided the perfect backdrop for our wonderful rehearsal dinner followed by our Welcome Party. The fireplace and mantel where we displayed family photos added to the personalized feel and ambience. We have to give a special thanks to bartender extraordinaire, Kerrie, whose good humor and helpfulness went far to ensure our guests felt at ease throughout the evening. The food was absolutely delicious, prepared just as requested and beautifully presented, and though we are sorry we cannot identify them by name, there were a host of other event staff and servers present who all went out of their way so we felt special and celebrated all night long.
The Groton Inn is uniquely wonderful, and we cannot imagine a more perfect setting for what truly was the wedding weekend of our dreams. -

The Groton Inn hosted our son's baptism reception on a February Saturday afternoon. From the planning process to the actual event, the staff (especially Elenor & Christine) were all incredibly professional, accommodating, and kind. Our guests raved about the food and the atmosphere. The front room was the perfect venue for us- accommodated 35 guests but still cozy and inviting. A huge plus for us is that they included music, candles & seasonal centerpieces. It was incredibly reasonably priced, and they offered some deductions & adjustments based off of our menu requests. Thank you Groton Inn! -

Just got married at the Groton Inn and it was a magical December wedding!!! The inn had a wonderful holiday atmosphere and the food and cocktails were amazing.

It has taken me awhile to finally write this, but our reception was held at the Groton Inn on August 7, 2021. We started planning in 2019, but Covid hit. They were wonderful about extending our contract out until 2021, and one of the owners met with us to calm our nerves. Sadly, Delta hit when we were married, and there were so many "last minute" changes, but they went with the flow. We're an older couple, but my family is local to the area, so travel was a breeze for them. (my parents are in their 80s) We were able to spend much time at the inn, as it was quiet during COVID, and to plan an amazing wedding. We thank them for their patience and kindness. Amazing Wedding Venue
Where do I begin?! First off, if you are considering hosting a wedding or event here, do it! You will not be disappointed.
Secondly, We worked with Eleanor on our event and could not have been more impressed. She was responsive, detailed, professional and accommodated all of our questions and requests.
We hosted our wedding at the Inn on a Saturday in July 2023. We had 87 guests and they stayed on the property in gorgeous, comfortable rooms. The bridal suite was large and luxurious with a Juliet balcony overlooking Gibbet Hill. The groom’s suite was enormous.
I wanted an intimate wedding with a laid-back, but classic garden party feel. Eleanor understood my vision and delivered! The ceremony was held on the back lawn, cocktail hour in the courtyard and reception in the Prescott Room. We took photos on the front porch and by the courtyard fireplace. Each space was BEAUTIFUL. When I asked if we could string lights across the courtyard, Eleanor went above and beyond to meet with hotel staff and outside vendors and made it happen. When I asked to do our first dance under the courtyard lights, she made that happen as well! She was amazing; exactly the type of person you want to work with when planning your big day.
The event itself was seamless. The team really knows how to run an event. The Catering/Kitchen was amazing. We had two signature cocktails and our guests told us the spicy margarita was made perfectly. We offered beef tenderloin and chicken as meals to our guests. Both were delicious and cooked perfectly. Countless guests told me it was the best wedding food and drink they have ever had, and more like upscale steakhouse food than typical wedding food. The Inn staff set up décor for us (signs, photos, candles, card boxes, etc.) and broke it down at the end of the night for us to pick up the next day.
The weather was extremely hot, humid and rainy on our wedding weekend. We lucked out and it didn't rain on our actual wedding day, but the Inn staff handled the possibility of rain professionally and calmly as it presented itself over and over again throughout the day.
We had a live acoustic/dj duo recommended by the Inn perform for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. They were amazing as well and I highly recommend them for TGI events. They fit the vibe and helped the event flow smoothly.
Our guests enjoyed the included breakfast each morning. It was delicious; again not typical hotel food. On Sunday we were able to meet up over breakfast, sit together and say goodbye to everyone who came to celebrate our wedding.
I could keep going on…The whole experience was perfect.

We had our rehearsal dinner at The Groton Inn, as our room block was also here. Guests found the location of the Inn and the service to be wonderful. The rehearsal dinner was beautiful, and the room with access to the patio was a treat! The guest rooms were huge, and the bridal suite was enormous. Pricing is fantastic, and breakfast is included! I would highly recommend. -

We had a great experience hosting an intimate wedding ceremony and reception at the Groton Inn over the weekend. The wedding coordinator Eleanor, was a pleasure to work with and gave great suggestions when my husband and I weren't sure how to proceed on certain decisions. The Inn was beautifully decorated for the holidays since we had our wedding in December, and the staff handled all the decorations, arrivals, and drop-offs from other vendors professionally.
The food was fantastic; it was easily the best plated dinner I've ever had at a wedding, and the chef was able to customize menu items to our specifications to accommodate all of our guests' food restrictions. The cake that was included in the wedding contract (from a nearby bakery Dolce Amar) was also the best wedding cake I had tasted, and handled smoothly from delivery to our cake cutting ceremony to the staff slicing and serving the cake.

Bridal Shower Tea at Groton Inn
The entire staff at Groton Inn were great to work with. Wonderful space, food and service for a bridal shower for my daughter. I would definitely consider Groton Inn for future special occasions.The Groton Inn's reply:
