Amazing reception experience at the Grand Hotel & Ballroom

We had our wedding reception at the Grand Hotel and Ballroom with Rick's Chophouse making our food. Megan at Rick’s Chophouse was so easy to work with from the very beginning. After talking to her, we didn’t need to talk to any other people regarding the reception selection. Megan was patient and kind in explaining all the reception details to us and responded to emails in a timely manner. We had a great reception at Rick’s with good venue, good food, and good sleep. It was an unforgettable night. Thank you Megan and the Grand Hotel & Ballroom staff, we were so lucky to have you!

Destination Wedding right here at home!

I have run a ceremony venue in McKinney for several years, so when it came time for my wedding I initially wanted something far away and tropical- just so my friends and family could enjoy time together rather than focusing so much on "the event". However, after searching in several states and countries for the perfect little town where everyone could walk from place to place and entertainment was plentiful, I realized it was right here in McKinney.

I also knew that The Grand had the intimate yet very elegant feel I wanted, as well as impeccable food and service. Still, even knowing how great they've been to all our clients in the past, I was absolutely blown away with my experience. I can't say enough about the entire staff, from Jacque at the front desk who helped us with guest accommodations to Allie who booked our reservation for The Ballroom to Megan who took absolutely wonderful care of us during the planning and meal selection process. I am so grateful to Rick Wells and his entire team.

Although it wasn't a "destination" for me, most of our guests from the Dallas area as well as out of state booked rooms at either The Grand Hotel or the local B&B's near the downtown square. My guests loved the experience of staying downtown and walking with us to hear live music at the nearby restaurants and bars after the wedding, and then to brunch the next day. It was the "destination wedding" feel I wanted without having to get on a plane, and it was absolutely PERFECT.

AMAZING, beautiful, and overall

Words cannot describe how flawlessly our wedding day went. Megan and her staff are AWESOME and work so hard to ensure your day is perfect. The food, atmosphere, staff, and overall experience made this venue worth every penny. Guests can stay in the rooms surrounding the ballroom making it easy for you, your friends, and family to have a good experience as well. Definitely check it out if you’re looking to get married in the North Dallas area!

Megan and her team were fantastic! She really helped us plan out our entire reception in the Ballroom. The food was perfect, the atmosphere was perfect, and I didn't have to worry about anything. Wonderful people, wonderful service.

This was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding. To be honest, we didn't look at any other venues. Once I walked into the ballroom and saw the old fashioned tin roof with GORGEOUS chandeliers, I was sold. This was where we were going to have our wedding. Also, if you want to have amazing food at your wedding that your guests will continue to rave about months later, you have to book The Grand Hotel. Rick's does an amazing job with the food! Everything was delicious. We have had so many compliments about the food! Megan Lamm was awesome! She made sure we had all the details for our wedding and that everything ran smoothly. She was an absolute charm to work with! :D

Overall, it was the best weekend ever. Our wedding party and close family stayed at the hotel with us Friday through Sunday morning. Then we had brunch at Rick's Sunday morning after the wedding. All our guests loved how different each of the rooms were decorated. Jacque was so awesome at accommodating all our needs (and we were kind of needy) but she handled us very well! :D I can't say enough how nice and professional the whole team at The Grand Hotel was. We could not have had a more perfect wedding.

We booked a block of rooms at the Grand Hotel. The groom was from Australia and the bride was a local to the DFW area. We weren't sure how many guests were going to be able to come over so we booked up the whole hotel and ended up dropping a few of the rooms closer to the event. We really loved the flexibility that the Grand Hotel allowed in their room blocks. They were so easy to work with! Jacque was always willing to answer incessant questions about bookings and constantly make changes. She was really good and so kind!

We never had time to make welcome bags for our guests, but the hotel (with the help of the city) put a bag in each of our rooms full of a few goodies and some pamphlets on things to do in McKinney. Nice touch!

The two suites are fantastic! The grand suite (the larger of the two suites) has lots of windows and tons of natural light! The only thing missing is a refrigerator. The owner's suite is slightly smaller, but is located in the old wing of the hotel and does have a mini-fridge.

Amazing hotel, guests loved it! And we were able to have our rehearsal and brunch there too!

We used Rick's for our rehearsal dinner and Sunday brunch the morning after our wedding. We reserved the Rick's 101 room and it was gorgeous... very grand! The food was excellent and the servers went the extra mile. Seriously, the service was exceptional! They made special accommodations for our picky nephew after they overheard him complaining that there was some ketchup touching his french fries. It was a nice touch, and something they did without asking.

Joie was excellent in helping to plan the event. She was new to the role after a sudden departure by the former coordinator and she was more than helpful in making sure everything was perfect.

The brunch was so so so good! Best brunch we have ever had and we are so glad we decided to it. We also used Rick's 101.

Great experience and we couldn't have picked a better venue for our rehearsal or brunch!

By far out did our expectations. Everything was taken care of without question. Megan was the best! I can't say enough about the staff and the service. Everyone raved about the food and venue! IT made my wedding perfect. We even had a large group for the brunch the next morning - it was amazing!

The ballroom was the perfect size and a beautiful setting for our wedding reception. The food was all prepared to perfection. The staff were so professional and helpful. stayed on top of our schedule while coordinating serving food, DJ, photographer, florist and anyone else that participated in the preparation. The hotel staff treated all our guest special and were very accommodating. We recommend this venue to anyone wanting a worry free reception.

First off, the Grand Hotel is BEAUTIFUL. Seriously. Do yourself a favor, and just go and visit them to see what it's all about. The pictures (while still beautiful) do NOT do it justice! Melanie and Shawna were absolutely fantastic from start to finish. From moving the date around a few times to accommodate schedules, to the myriad of questions about set up, timing and food, and they never even flinched. Any emails were ALWAYS promptly responded to, even when it was well after business hours and they didn't have to! The wedding and reception itself went so smoothly, it was unbelievable. Shawna had everything running like clockwork, and everything was set up and served impeccably. I cannot recommend this venue enough!

Moreover, we still have guests commenting on the quality of the food. For the price, Grand Hotel is ABSOLUTELY the best value of any venue we looked at in the DFW area. You'll get an affordable wedding that looks, feels and tastes like a 5 star affair. I wish I had another party coming up just so we could book with them again!

Wow! I have nothing but AMAZING things to say about The Grand Hotel & Rick's Chophouse. We had our rehearsal dinner in a private room at Rick's and let me tell you, we definitely did not leave there hungry. The food was wonderful and the service was even better. We had our own bartender in the room which was really nice as well. It was definitely the perfect spot for our rehearsal. Highly recommend it!

The Grand Hotel Ballroom is absolutely everything I had ever dreamed of & more. I loved the chandeliers that fill the room- definitely the selling point for me. It was this elegant and romantic feel to the room, which I totally loved. We honestly did not do any decorating besides the center pieces on the tables- the room is beautiful enough. I cannot wait to get the pictures back from the talented, Joy Neville. I know she captured some great shots in the ballroom. Thank you for making our special day PERFECT.

As a minister I've conducted hundreds of weddings over the years in all kinds of venues and with the help of many different wedding coordinators. This wedding was different. It was for my last child and only daughter. So, I speak as the officiating minister, but more importantly, as the father of the bride.

First, the hotel accommodations were wonderful. The hotel has a very stylish décor and is as comfortable as any modern facility while retaining its historic feel. We rented a number of rooms for our family and everyone was impressed with the hotel. The set up for the ballroom for the wedding and then the reception was seamless.

Second, the staff of the hotel treated every one of our guests as if they were royalty. From the manager, Jose, to the housekeepers, the staff were professional and helpful.

Third, Rick's Chophouse provided the catering for our reception. The meal was delicious. The service was excellent. Guests couldn't believe how amazing the meal was given the number that had to be served. Some said that the steak was the best ever.

Fourth, we used the services of Shawna Darden as wedding coordinator. I am particularly critical of wedding coordinators because they can set the tone for the entire wedding event. If they are unprepared the rehearsal can be a fiasco. If they are too domineering they can offend people who are at the event to celebrate and have a good time. The emotions of a bride and others tend to run high leading up to a wedding. The only thing that can calm the anxiety is thorough preparation. Shawna is the best I've ever seen. There were times I wondered how she was able to do all she did. Never did I feel like she had missed a thing.

Believe me, all the experience in the world doesn't prepare the father of the bride to give his daughter away. At the time of ceremony my mind was completely focused on my daughter and her
moment. That would not have been possible without the outstanding work of Grand Hotel and Shawna.

I had my wedding ceremony and reception in the Grand Ballroom this past weekend. The whole experience was great. Shawna and Melanie were very responsive and made sure everything went perfectly! The food was great, and they were able to accommodate special requests with ease. All of the guests commented on how wonderful the staff was, including the servers and bartender. I would highly recommend the Grand Hotel and Ballroom for any event, but especially for a perfect wedding!

The absolute best place to stay in McKinney. A gem of a hotel with first class service for all our wedding guests. Oscar and Jose and the rest of the staff were excellent. Will be back just for a vacation.

We LOVED The Grand Hotel and Ballroom. Our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception went so smoothly thanks to Shawna and her staff. Her assistant, I cannot remember his name, was so sweet. They both made my husband and I feel like we had nothing to worry about throughout the whole day. Shawna was very responsive to our questions and very accommodating to everything. She was organized, patient, and reassuring when the nerves kicked in. We adored her!
Melanie, the one in charge of billing, was nice, but sometimes seemed to be a little annoyed with our financial questions, and didn't always seem sincere. Regardless, she did get the job done, and did remain organized with our payments and billing and such. She was good at e-mailing back or returning calls.
Lastly, Jose, the man at the hotel service desk was a doll. He was SO kind and optimistic. I absolutely loved talking with him. He seemed so excited about my wedding which made me feel really special. He was so good at answering questions and clarifying information. We loved him so much!
Chip, the bartender, was also great! Very nice and energetic. He was fun to talk with!

Mu husband and I had our wedding at The Grand Hotel and Ballroom in October and it was an amazing experience. Everything about this place is wonderful. The staff is so accomodating. We, along with several of our guests, stayed at the hotel during our wedding weekend. Everyone ranted and raved about how beautiful the rooms were. We had both our ceremony and reception here. They took care of everything. I literally had zero stress the days leading up to the wedding and the day of the wedding. We worked with Melanie during the pre-wedding process (i.e. touring the venue, booking, making payments, etc.) She was great. Always responded to emails in a timely manner and bent over backwards to help us in any way she could. Shawna, our coordinator for the actual wedding, was amazing. I absolutely loved her. She took care of everything. She made sure the ballroom looked exactly the way I envisioned it. When I tried to help with a few details for the reception, she refused to let me and instructed me to go relax and enjoy my day. Big plus: she made sure both me and my husband ate and drank during the reception and had appetizers and drinks on hand for us right after the ceremony. Jose, the hotel manager was a true gem. He was so accommodating, making sure we had any and everything we needed in our rooms. They were so flexible with us. They even allowed us to have our dog be in our ceremony. AND he got to come to the reception after dinner to take pictures and dance with our guests. I HIGHLY recommend this place if you are looking for a wedding venue in the Dallas area. They will definitely take care of you. Since the venue is so nice, you really don't have to do much decorating if you don't want to. The place is beautiful enough on its own. I really cannot say enough great things about this place. Thank you Grand Hotel and Ballroom for helping me have the wedding of my dreams. We are so grateful. BIG thank you to Shawna, Melanie and Jose. You all are the absolute best. Ever!

The event staff at The Grand Hotel in Mckinney, TX made my day so amazing. Their attention to detail and ability to be flexible was exactly what I needed. I used the Grand Hotel and Ballroom for the ceremony and reception. The space is absolutely stunning- the exposed brick wall to the beautiful chandeliers. Everything was stunning! The guests enjoyed the cocktail hour in the ricks room. It was a good change of pace from a feminine room to a masculine room back to a feminine room. It couldn't have been more perfect!

The Grand Hotel was the perfect location for our May wedding. My husband and I knew immediately that it was the place for us upon first look of the amazing ballroom. The food was amazing, the space was perfect and unique, and Melanie and Shawna were so helpful. My daughter's wedding was held at the Grand Hotel and Ballroom in McKinney. The staff at this hotel went above and beyond the call of duty when we lost our DJ an hour before the wedding. The hotel wedding coordinator, Shawna, was able to come up with and DJ and keep us calm at the same time. Remarkable! The hotel is exquisite. All our out-of-town guests who stayed there raved. The quaint downtown square offers lots of fun shops to keep guests occupied for the weekend. The staff was professional in every way and made it their top priority to make us happy. Rarely do you find such personal service in this day and age. I would highly recommend this wedding venue for weddings of 150 or under.

We held our wedding reception at the Grand Hotel's ballroom. I searched for the perfect reception venue in the North Dallas area for a long time before I found this place. It was by far the prettiest space! The ballroom is beautiful! We had 160 guests for a platted diner and it was cozy... in a good way. I definitely would not have more people than that. My one and only complaint was there was not much space on the dance floor. It had to be very small because of the number of guests we had and I wish it could have been bigger... everyone still had a great time but keep that in mind if you want lots of room to dance! Everything else was spectacular. The food and service were awesome and Shauna Darden, the event planner was so sweet and tried to keep us on budget. She was a great help! Definitely book this place!!!

The Grand Hotel and Rick's Chophouse who served our meal exceeded ALL our expectations!!!! We had several friends comment to us that this was the BEST wedding they had ever attended! This was our only daughter's wedding......and it was very obvious she and her new husband enjoyed their celebration as well all the guests!!! The owner of Rick's Chophouse, Rick, personally came to our table during the meal to ask if he could do anything for us. We told him the food and service was 5 Star quality! He even brought me another Sprite soft drink to our table! Wow, that is what I call going above and beyond the service and great food provided! Thank all of your Staff for a job WELL DONE in every phase of service and quality and taste of all the food served!!!!

My wife and I had our wedding reception at the Grand Hotel and Ballroom and the food was provided by Rick's Chophouse at the Grand Hotel. I honestly can say I would have never expected to receive the amazing service that we received from the staff at the hotel and restaraunt. They were absolutely amazing in every way, the food was fantastic and the reception area was beautiful. I cannot possible say enough how much we enjoyed the hospitality we received and will be spending several honeymoons there.

I am so happy we chose the The Grand Hotel and Ballroom as our ceremony and reception venue! It was important to my husband and I that everything took place at one location because we had so many out of town guests, and The Grand was perfect. With the hotel, we reserved a dozen rooms for our guests (and very tired wedding party) so they could enjoy the entire reception and then simply go to their room when they were ready for bed. The Ballroom is gorgeous! We wanted a victorian feel for our wedding, and the exposed brick, huge chandlers, and tin celings are perfect! The ceremony and reception were in the same room, and they escorted the guests down to a small lounge for a cocktail hour after the ceremony while they got the room ready for the reception. The most amazing part, though, was the service. If I could, I would give them 10 stars! Everything went so smoothly, and Shawna really helped keep the stress down. Both Melanie and Shawna were super quick to respond with any questions and super helpful with menu planning, as I had a few special dishes I needed (for a few vegan friends and friends with food allergies). I even called 3 days before the wedding to change a meal for a friend that had been put on a liquid food diet that week and they had no problems making sure she was taken care of! The food is amazing, too! All night my guests raved about the food (and the sangria!) and I STILL get compliments about how awesome the food was! I wish I could give them more stars, because they are simply amazing! I would recommend them to anyone looking for a beautiful venue for any event with great food and excellent service!

This is a beautiful place for a wedding & reception. The historic charm & chandeliers make it gorgeous. It's very convenient because everything can be held at the same location, the food is great, and everyone who works there is very nice & helpful. I received so many compliments from my guests. The Grand Hotel was a wonderful experience. We had our ceremony at my home church in Sherman, TX (30 miles north of McKinney) but rehearsal, bridal brunch and reception were all at the Grand Hotel & Rick's Chop House and it all happened seamlessly and beautifully thanks to Melanie, Shawna and Jose. Everyone stayed at the Grand Hotel and we had a charter bus to take people to and from the church. Jose, the manager at the Grand Hotel, was so gracious, flexible and worked with us on every detail of booking, suites, room lists, roll-away beds etc. Even down to making sure wedding party (loud college kids) were on the ballroom level, family (elderly and small kiddos) were on the lower level and friends/families could be next to each other - Jose never griped or grunted throughout the weekend and paid close attention to every detail! Always there with a smile to offer us and our guests any amenities needed. Shawna, the day-of coordinator, took care of me and every detail I wanted for my reception. The food is exquisite and it is a great value for the price. When we first started looking at venues, we looked at the Adolphus hotel in downtown Dallas; what we liked about it was the exactly what we loved about the Grand Hotel: the ambiance of old world romance. However it was TWICE the cost of the Grand Hotel/Rick's Chop House and I will say, the quality of service just in initial information meeting was nothing in comparison to that of the Grand Hotel. Melanie, director of sales at the hotel, was so patient with my dad and me and really worked with us on price, deposits, etc. With the exceptional quality of service you receive, the Grand Hotel and Rick's Chop House is a memory that you will never forget!

Everyone was great to work with from the early planning stages, all the way through the end of the reception. Everything was exactly as we hoped it would be, and we got so many compliments from our guests about this venue. Top Notch! If you plan to get married in North DFW, you should definitely look at this place before making your final decision. We also liked that everything could be done in one location instead of having to move guests from one location to another.

All of the guests had a great time during the wedding & the groom & I received SO many compliments after our wedding!! When you have put so much time & effort into planning a wedding, it is wonderful to see everyone having a good time on the big day and to hear the rave reviews afterwards!

Thanks to the staff's guidance and hard work, the ceremony was beautiful & went smoothly, even though we did not have a rehearsal. The ballroom looked Great and had a completely different feel for the ceremony and the reception. Rick's 110 provides a great backdrop so many of our guests took great photos while eating hors douvres and having drinks during the cocktail hour. Placecards, favors, centerpieces, etc. were all in the proper place at the right time. Coworkers, family and friends have all commented on how Delicious the food was (salmon & chicken plated dinner) and said it was a beautiful wedding.

Shawna is an amazingly organized and focused person and ensures that each detail is exactly the way you want it. She made sure that everything was perfect & that everyone was happy prior to and during the wedding. I am so grateful for her hard work.

Everyone at the Grand/Rick's did their job well and did it with enthusiasm. They created an event that was special and personalized to my preferences.

We had our Rehearsal Dinner at Rick's Chop house in the Grand hotel and then stayed at the hotel on our wedding night. Everything was amazing and the food was out of this world!

Beautiful place to get married! We did both the ceremony and reception in the ballroom and the cocktail hour downstairs in Rick's 110. I could not imagine a more beautiful place to get married against the exposed brick and windows that overlooked the historic McKinney downtown square. The crystal chandeliers were amazing after the sun set and had an enchanted mood in the air for the reception. We really did have a great time! We rented the Owner's suit for the boys to get ready in and the Grand Suit for the girls and both rooms were HUGE with plenty of space for everyone:) The hotel even came in during the wedding to clean the room so that when my husband and I came back together that night, it was picked up for us. Shawna did an amazing job the night of making sure that everyone was happy and taken care of. She even sent us food after the wedding when we got back to our room:) I would definitely recommend this venue to other brides for the atmosphere, amazing food, and the way that the hotel and staff took care of us on our special day!!

I can't say enough good things about the Grand Hotel! We had both our ceremony and reception there on the night of April 2nd, 2011. All the details leading up to the day were easy to get done, Shawna and Melanie were flexible, understanding and very professional.

The day-of was an absolute dream. I was of course a little nervous about everything coming together, but I had nothing to worry about. Shawna was there as my coordinator day-of and she was awesome!! Every detail was taken care of without me even having to think about it. After the ceremony we had cocktail hour. Since my husband and I missed most of it due to pictures, Shawna had a tray of hors d'œuvres and our favorite drinks waiting for us when we got back. That is only one example, but there were many examples and all of those details made the night wonderful. The food was beyond wonderful (chicken and beef tenderloin, family style- which I totally recommend!); everyone complimented it right and left. We had done a tasting beforehand and were blown away by the food. I wasn't sure how it would translate in a larger setting (85 people), but I had nothing to worry about, it was just as great as the tasting!

I just couldn't have been happier with having our wedding at the Grand Hotel. Beautiful venue, professional, super-nice staff that were all over the details, great food and drinks and great rooms for your guests to stay in. I really couldn't have asked for anything more! THANK YOU!

The Grand Hotel was a DREAM come true for our June 5th wedding! The staff at the hotel was beyond amazing - they catered to all our needs, kept in constant communication with us, and made sure that we were on schedule for all tastings, plannings, etc. I am from McKinney, so it was great to be able to share that small town feel with all of our friends and family - and the venue fit our vintagey theme, which created a perfect ambiance for the reception. Jose at the front desk is your go-to man, and we were EXTREMELY thankful for everything he did to book our guests together, keep us updated with room counts, and add to our enthusiasm as our big day approached. This is a PERFECT venue if you have lots of out of towners - especially college friends who can experience the bar and restaurant scene downtown McKinney! Not to mention, the ballroom and food were beyond expecations - definitely an interesting menu to chose from that kept guests entertained! We will continue to recommend the Grand Hotel to everyone looking for an accommodating and friendly reception spot.

I had a dinner in the 110 room in Rick's Chop House downstairs and then right after had my reception in the ballroom and it was FANTASTIC. I had a lot of decoration for each table and the Grand was very willing to let my mother and I come the day before and set everything up. I also requested to have a "dry" reception and the staff was willing and did a great job of respectfully informing the guests if they tried to bring drinks into the ballroom. The room was perfect for the vintage yet party feel that i wanted, with the old brick wall but large dance floor. I would highlt recommend this place for a reception in McKinney!

We chose to have all of our guests stay at the The Grand Hotel. We were overwhelmed with the old-world style of the individual rooms, the level of service received, and the constant patience and assistance of the staff when dealing with 40 traveling wedding guests. The location is superb for a localized wedding and will a touch of class to any occasion.

We stayed here on our wedding night. It was wonderful. We got married and had the reception across the street, so it was the perfect location. My bridesmaids and I got ready there ahead of time so my things were already there. They upgraded our room for no extra and were so friendly. The room was incredible and absolutely perfect! I would definitely stay there again.

I would highly recommend the Grand Ballroom! The combination of Rick's Chophouse, the Grand Ballroom, and the Grand Hotel is perfection. The hotel is gorgeous and all my guests were impressed, comfortable, and well taken care of. The hotel manager Jose was in constant contact with me during the planning process. Our hotel arrangements were quite complicated and Jose and Becky changed things with enthusiasm many, many, many times.

The Grand Ballroom is gorgeous with sparkling chandeliers, a beautiful tin ceiling, and lovely bar. We had about 150 people and it suited the room perfectly. We had a sit down dinner and the service was excellent. Planning the reception, the food, the drink was extremely smooth and it all came off very well. After the reception my guests loved that they could just walk down the hall to their beautiful room!

The owner, Rick, was very welcoming and a pleasure. I highly recommend.

Our decision to have our wedding reception at the Grand Hotel Ballroom with Rick's Chophouse providing the food was an excellent one! Not only is it a beautiful, historical location - but the cost to use the room includes many extra features that allowed my husband and I, our families and guests to completely relax and enjoy a gorgeous evening. I am really impressed with the service and attention to details.

WOW, is all I can say about Christy Logan and her staff at the Grand Hotel and Ballroom. Anything I asked of her she came through with flying colors. The service both before and during the wedding was exceptional and the food was excellent as well. There was plenty of wait-staff to take care of our guests during the wedding and the hotel staff was equally as wonderful! Kudos to Jose at the hotel desk for putting out whatever fires came up with efficiency and a smile. We have been raving to anyone who will listen about the wonderful experience we had planning and executing the reception with the help of Christy and her staff and we highly recommend this venue. It's nice to know you can find a local location to have a first class wedding without breaking the bank. Thanks again for a once in a lifetime, beautiful experience my daughter and son-in-law will be talking about for years to come.

I can not say enough about The Grand Hotel and Ballroom. It was the most amazing experience in every way. Christy was an absolute Godsend. She is definitely in the right field. She is professional, knows her stuff and most importantly a calm presence who can make anything happen, and she did. What was so wonderful, I did not even know their was a problem because she took care of it without anyone knowing their was a problem. My florist freaked out when she ran short on time and decided to just walk out without finishing the reception site center piece flowers. Christy and her crew did an amazing job of stepping in and making it look wonderful. Everyone from the maids to Rick, the owner of the restaurant/Ballroom/Hotel were fabulous.

My out of town guests were thrilled by the accommadation at The Grand Hotel. They loved that they could sleep, eat and play all in the same building. The building itself is amazing. Filled with a historical story which allows you to feel like a small part of that history. As you can tell it was an amazing experience and would recommend The Grand Ballroom/Grand Hotel & Rick's Chop House to anyone.

Our wedding there could not have been better! If you are thinking about the grandballroom for both your wedding ceremony and reception, you won't be disappointed! Shawna, the wedding planner, is amazing. She made everything run so smoothly and helped us with absolutely everything! Jose, the hotel manager, was great as well. He helped us shift rooms around so we could place a photo booth in the hallway. All the staff that we talked to was very friendly and willing to help in anyway. The food is also incredible! You can't go wrong here!

The Grand Hotel and Ballroom made my wedding spectacular! Most of our wedding guests had to travel to DFW for the wedding, so we reserved all of the rooms at the Grand Hotel (only 14 rooms were available at the time). Jose, the manager from the hotel was great to work with, especially since we had so many family members who were hot and cold about coming, and we changed reservations what felt like hundreds of times. Jose was patient, professional, flexible, and a wonderful hotelier. Because we had so many guests coming, we also had reservations at a local chain hotel. The experience working with the two different hotels was like night and day. The Grand Hotel was a little pricier, but the rooms were beautiful, and the service was spectacular. It was worth every cent, and it was so convenient for the bridal party and family to walk down the hallway to the wedding!
Christy is also a gem from the Grand Ballroom staff. We had an afternoon wedding ceremony in the ballroom, a cocktail hour in Rick's 110 (downstairs), and a seated lunch reception back in the ballroom. The staff was on top of all of the details, and made sure the transition from ceremony to reception room went smoothly. Our guests were delighted at the professionalism of the staff, I was thrilled that they took care of all the details and I got to enjoy my wedding day. Christy did a great job of making sure they were able to met our needs prior to the wedding so that things went smoothly on the big day. I know that had at least one wedding following ours, and according to some of our guests, the Grand Ballroom may have had two weddings following ours. Regardless, they treated us like a king and queen, and never rushed our party or made us feel like we were just another number. You would have never guessed that the moment our party left the Grand Ballroom, they had to rush to clean the room and prepare for another wedding.
The Grand Ballroom was a great value! Of the many locations we considered for the wedding, the Grand Ballroom was at the pricier end. However, they served exceptional food for the price. Our lunch was delicious, and impressive.

I was blown away by the venue, food and service. Our wedding coordinator Megan was great! She was very helpful and worked her butt off to make sure everything went smoothly. The Grand Hotel was perfect! We had our ceremony and reception there and it was amazing! Beautiful setting, great staff and delicious food and cocktails! Great for a smaller wedding - we had 125 or so and it was just right. Intimate and gorgeous setting! Encourage your out-of-town guests to stay there too - so much do to on the square.

I had both my ceremony and reception in the BEAUTIFUL AND ELEGANT ballroom of the Grand Hotel. They completely flipped the room during cocktail hour which took place downstairs in the private dining room associated with Rick's Chophouse. While it was not the cheapest place to have a wedding the food was fantastic and they work with you to customize the menu to your specifics. Both Melanie, sales /event coordinator, and Shawna, day of coordinator provided, were fabulous. They were always available and very nice especeially the last week when I kept changing the guest count.

The manager of the hotel, Jose, is outstanding. He handled all my guests needs especially when it came to getting people in rooms that needed two beds and roll-aways. The hotel itself is only about 40 rooms so definitely set aside a block of rooms. The hotel has two big suites which was perfect for the bridal party and groomsmen to get ready in. Having everything on sight made it easy for my guests, photographers, and vendors, and me. I would absolutely go with them again if I had to do it all over again.

The Grand Hotel truly made our reception a party to remember! The food was absolutely spectacular--a month later, we still have so many people complimenting us on our plated dinner. All of our meals were served hot to our guests and the meat was cooked to perfection. Also, the menus were extremely flexible and they were able to customize a few things for us to make our day even more special without a second thought! The room itself is absolutely stunning! If you are looking for an intimate space with a vintage appeal, the Grand Hotel is absolutely perfect. About two weeks before my wedding, there was a change in staffing--we had been working with Christy Logan primarily, but Shawna took over her position right before our wedding and it was barely noticeable. Had we not been told this had happened, we would have never known since Shawna picked right up without missing a step. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and she was able to put up with and ultimately impress my dad, who is impossible! I would highly recommend the Grand Hotel to any bride!!

The venue was very understanding of our needs, not only dietary but our 10 month old daughter as well. The food was delicious and overall it was a great location for our wedding reception. The only thing we didn't like was the volume control for our music and that the music control was outside of the reception room area, giving us no access and limited music selection unless on a playlist.

We used The Grand Hotel and Ballroom for our wedding reception. We were blown away how they turned all of our requests into exactly what we wanted for our reception. I worked with Melanie and Megan for all of my day of coordination planning and they pulled off everything flawlessly!

Dinner was AMAZING and our guests were so impressed by the food and the beauty of our venue! We also used the Grand Hotel for accommodations for our guests and if you have not seen the inside of the historic hotel...YOU ARE MISSING OUT! The charm of the hotel and the downtown McKinney square is so beautiful and unforgettable! My husband and I can not wait to come back and celebrate our first anniversary here!

Everyone at The Grand Hotel, Rick's Chophouse and The Grand Ballroom did a phenomenal job. The food was fantastic, they catered to our every need and everyone's was wonderfully impressed with the overall result. They were also able to flip a room from the ceremony to be ready for the reception in 30 minutes, while guests enjoyed cocktails downstairs, which is a lifesaver. The only thing I wish I would have done is to collect the massive amounts of leftover food, drinks from the ice cream float station, etc. to provide to a local food bank since we had already paid for them.

I loved this venue and thought that Shawna and Melanie were SO helpful with planning my wedding. We had our reception here and I had to plan everything from out of town but Shawna and Melanie were very accommodating. Shawna helped me set up everything for the reception since I couldn't get into the room sooner than 2 hours before the reception. The food was also AMAZING and all of my guests loved it. Would definitely recommend this location!

I would highly recommend doing an event here! This is the most beautiful, unique place that I have found in Dallas that wasn't requiring a 20,000 dollar food minimum. It is upscale, but they can work with your budget if they have a small one. If you have a problem with anything, the owner himself will set down and meet with you and he is amazing! Highly recommend!!!!

I had a great experience while planning our reception in The Grand Ballroom at The Grand Hotel. Both Shawna and Melanie were great and helpful. However, the person they left in charge of our reception was horrible. The dinner service was delayed yet no one communicated anything to us as to why. When my mom asked the lady that seemed to be in charge if they could bring out more appetizers because a lot of the guests did not get any, she responded with "we have already served what you have paid for ma'am". Her lack of professionalism was very disappointing. We waited so long to get served dinner that we missed out on visiting with all our guests. The late dinner service caused the remainder of the evening to be rushed. Thankfully our awesome DJ took care of us and made everything else happen. I would recommend The Grand Ballroom at The Grand Hotel but only if someone else is in charge. I don't even know her name, that's how bad her attitude was.

We stayed in this hotel for our wedding that was down the street and used our rooms for the wedding party to get ready.

It's nice and spacious but it's waaay too expensive for anything other than a wedding.

However, their room service is reasonably priced and quick, not surprising since they are so expensive they don't really fill up. When we stayed one of the days we were there we were the only guests in the hotel.

Great for a wedding. Not recommended for anything else.

Ran out of food even though our number count was 18 less then the number provided.
Only had one type of beer left to serve with an hour remaining in the reception.
Room was very hot.

Service staff was exceptional and worked very hard. The room was beautiful, but set-up was an hour behind schedule.

This place was quite a beauty of it all i was amazed by most of it's decor and it made it a wonderful place for a family to get together to enjoy such a beautiful location. It is worth every penny to reserve your events here.
