The English Country Barn of the Carolinas had certainly looked beautiful online, but we immediately found that it was even more incredible in person. During our initial tour with Ian, we became completely enamored by the venue, amazed by the ceremony spaces, the reception and cocktail hour areas, the dressing rooms, and even the abundance of restrooms. We walked down the aisle in The Enchanted Wood and realized it was everything we had been hoping for. Meeting with Teresa, we gained advice, resources, and answers. During the planning process, we visited the venue 4 times and sent countless emails with consistently quick responses. I was surprised, relieved, and grateful that so many items were available for use with no extra charge (decor, signs, tablecloths, speakers, etc). Having venue access for the weekend was a game-changer for us as well, allowing us to set up all day on Friday, rehearse Friday evening, enjoy our Saturday wedding, and pack up to leave Sunday morning without stress or hassle. We even ordered some of Teresa’s homemade macarons and tiramisu shots for our wedding day, and they were absolutely delightful. It was ideal to work with the couple that owns the venue, and it was clear that Ian and Teresa are determined to constantly improve their venue for the benefit of their clients. Our wedding was absolutely perfect, and we cannot thank them enough for doing everything they could to make it that way. The English Country Barn is gorgeous, and the owners are superb. Don’t wait to schedule your tour or book your wedding because the ECB is a gem, and you will not want to miss out on your dream wedding.The English Country Barn of the Carolinas's reply:

A Gorgeous Place to Marry
This is one of the most beautiful and well thought out venues I have ever been to. All the vendors had plenty of space to work, there’s a full kitchen, a side room for the food, and an outdoor area perfect for cocktail hour. There are multiple choices for the ceremony including indoor and outdoor choices, a huge gravel parking lot for guests, parking up close for vendors; everything was just perfect. It’s less than an hour from Wilmington which is such a bonus for such a beautiful place and they have separate accommodations that you can rent to stay closer to the venue and a sweetheart cottage for the newlyweds on the property. They offer a weekend package deal that was so nice because we got to decorate on Friday, have the wedding on Saturday, and get all of our stuff out on Sunday morning. The barn is amazing for the reception and includes two dressing areas that were great for us getting ready for the wedding. The owners were very friendly and very responsive to any and all questions while planning, during setup, and personally came to make sure we had everything we needed before the ceremony. The English Country Barn is truly a dream venue, and Teresa and Ian are absolute angels. From the very beginning, they were supportive, kind, and genuinely invested in making our day special — but what truly sets them apart is how they handled the unexpected.
We were hit with an icy storm on our wedding day, and instead of panic or chaos, Teresa and Ian stepped in with calm, care, and total professionalism. They helped guide us through every challenge, made adjustments seamlessly, and did everything in their power to make sure we still had the most beautiful day and experience possible. Because of them, what could have been a stressful situation turned into a day filled with love, peace, and joy.
The houses they offer to stay in are absolutely perfect and worked out so well for our weather that we had come our way!
The venue itself is stunning, warm, and full of charm!! But it’s the hearts behind it that make it extraordinary. We will forever be grateful for their kindness, dedication, and support. If you’re looking for a venue where you’re treated like family and not just a booking, The English Country Barn is it. We couldn’t recommend Teresa and Ian more!!

Teresa and Ian are the most amazing people ever! We toured a few venues before we came and saw The English Country Barn. Once we talked to them and toured the venue when we left there was no doubt in our mind that their venue was the one we wanted to have our amazing wedding in. They go above and beyond and also have the best vendors to choose from to help make the day very special.
To top it off out of all the venues we toured they were the only ones to offer a 3 day weekend to help ease the stress of all the planning and clean up.

From our very first visit to the moment the last car pulled away from the venue, Ian and Teresa were there every step of the way to ensure our daughter’s wedding was truly the wedding of her dreams.
The English Country Barn of the Carolinas checked every box our daughter was looking for: a beautiful barn setting, the ability to stay on the premises for an extended time with their bridal party, the chance to bring her horse and dog, a perfect rain-day plan (which we thankfully didn’t need), the option to host the rehearsal dinner on-site, collaborative vendors familiar with the venue, and, most importantly, involved owners who were always available to answer questions. Ian and Teresa had it all.
To be honest, it was difficult to imagine how so many different moving pieces would come together—but it truly took our breath away to see how seamless and beautiful everything turned out.
We arrived on Thursday and hosted a wonderful parent and bridal party dinner at the farmhouse. On Friday, our daughter’s horse arrived and was treated like royalty—he settled right in and loved all the fresh grass! The rehearsal dinner on the beautiful patio that evening was magical, and guests were in awe of the breathtaking setting.
Saturday morning began early in the bridal suite, where the girls had a lovely space to relax and prepare for the day ahead. Watching the barn below transform into a dream come true brought tears to our eyes every time we peeked out. We knew how many people were working hard while we sipped mimosas and celebrated our bride-to-be.
Then came the photos—the bride, the groom, the horse, and the pup—each one more stunning than the last against the lush, green backdrop. The garden ceremony was simply exquisite. As the doors opened and my daughter appeared on her father’s arm, it was like a fairytale come to life. I have never seen her smile so much. In that moment, I knew all her dreams were coming true in a place that felt like home.
The reception in the barn was a night to remember—the warmth, the colors, the candles, the dancing, the food, the flowers, the cupcakes, the laughter, the love, the family, and the friends.
Ian and Teresa, we cannot thank you enough for helping make our daughter’s (and son-in-law’s) dreams come true and for hosting such a spectacular weekend.

We could not have chosen a more perfect place to celebrate our special day than The English Country Barn. From the very beginning, Mr. Ian and Mrs. Teresa were an absolute dream to work with — warm, professional, and incredibly accommodating. They made the entire planning process feel effortless, always ready to answer questions, offer guidance, and go the extra mile to ensure everything was just right.
The venue itself is simply stunning — a beautiful blend of rustic charm and timeless elegance. The barn is spacious, full of character, and surrounded by the most picturesque countryside views. It provided the perfect backdrop for both our ceremony and reception, and our guests couldn’t stop complimenting how magical everything looked. And not to mention the MANY different locations on property to say "I Do!"
What truly set The English Country Barn apart, though, was the personal touch Mr. Ian and Mrs. Teresa brought to the experience. They genuinely cared about making our day as special as possible, and it showed in every detail — we honestly couldn’t have asked for more.

Beautiful venue!
Our wedding at the English Country Barn was all that we wanted for our special day. The venue's ambiance, especially the Enchanted Woods, was beautiful. The venue offers many settings for ceremony which is a peace of mind to have plan B, especially with NC weather. The Perfect Day
This venue was perfect. Beautiful. Indoor and outdoor space. No stress if it was going to rain. Plenty of time to set up the day before the wedding. Theresa and Ian responded so quickly anytime we needed them to. Highly recommend this venue!!The English Country Barn of the Carolinas's reply:

Best all inclusive venue ever!
If you’re looking for a place with 24/7 contact, a full weekend guaranteed for your wedding, spacious venue, and quality care, you’ve found the place! We had the best wedding we could have asked for. Teresa and Ian were always available to help answer any questions we had and were flexible to accommodate our needs. We loved having the cottages on the property to allow our wedding party a place to stay and an intimate spot for us to be at the night of our wedding thanks to their sweet heart cottage. The place was nicely cleaned before the wedding and having access to other wedding decor from previous wedding donations was such a great help. 10/10 recommend the English Country Barn!The English Country Barn of the Carolinas's reply:

The English Country Barn was the second venue my husband and I toured. Afterwards, we didn’t bother looking elsewhere! Ian and Teresa were attentive and professional from the beginning. They were a wealth of knowledge from our planning process all the way to making our wedding day exceptional. The venue is absolutely stunning! The amenities that are available to you make your big day run so smooth and stress free! It’s just as functional as it is beautiful! The English Country Barn of the Carolinas had everything we were looking for and more when searching for a venue for our daughter's wedding.
First of all, from the very first tour onwards the communication from Teresa was clearly organized and timely. There was never a question that was left unanswered nor a stone unturned.
Next, The English Country Barn is by far the most economical venue that we found. Until you get into the planning phase of the wedding, you really don't understand exactly how much money you are saving by using all the venue has to offer. Besides offering 8 different sites for the ceremony itself, they also offer many decorations, table clothes, tables, and chairs that you do not have to buy or rent. That in and of itself save hundreds. Then there is space for a rehearsal dinner without using the large banquet room. There again we did not have to go off site and rent a room at a restaurant. The caterers for both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding reception had plenty of space to work and were very happy with the kitchen area. We used the beautiful courtyard for drinks and horsd'oeuvres while the wedding party was taking pictures. There was lots of space for mingling as well as for sitting for our guests. The banquet hall was large enough for 150+ people to sit comfortably, move around in order to get to the bar and buffet line, dance, and still have tables for the DJ, cake, and a memorial table. We used the smaller room for the buffet line which kept all congestion out of the banquet room. It was the perfect set up. Oh, I must not forget the facilities upstairs where the girls spent all day getting ready. There was plenty of room for the bride and her six bridesmaids, two juniors, two flower girls, two mothers AND the two makeup artists and three girls working on our hair. Also, I set up a table with food and drinks just outside the room for the day. Again, the facilities were perfect!
Honestly, the cottages were probably the best part! For an additional fee, there are three beautiful cottages on the property that were wonderful. The bride and her bridesmaids stayed in one cottage and the groom and his groomsmen stayed in the other for the weekend. This saved us from renting hotel rooms for the bridal party and it was a lot more fun for everyone. It also enabled the bride and groom both to enjoy their last night before their wedding with their best friends. There was the added bonus of no one driving after the celebrations either night. The quaint onsite "Honeymoon Cottage" as we called it was perfect for the bride and groom after the wedding. By using the cottages, there were over 14 people that never had to leave the property all weekend. It was marvelous!
Now, during the long day, there were things that we needed that we texted Teresa for such as more soap in a rest room and the air to be turned down upstairs once the curling irons got heated up. But because they live onsite, each time we texted for something one of them was there in a matter of minutes to take care of it. The service was remarkable!
As you can see, we used the whole venue because it is indeed the whole package for the perfect wedding and that is exactly what my daughter told her Dad during their father - daughter dance. She told him that it had been the perfect day!The English Country Barn of the Carolinas's reply:

I can’t say enough good things about The English Country Barn. From the moment we toured the property, I knew it was the one. It’s elegant, peaceful, and all of our guests were AMAZED!!
The barn is gorgeous!! We loved having beautiful ceremony options to choose from, and the reception space was perfect from dinner to dancing.
Ian and Teresa are incredible. They truly care about their couples and made the entire planning process so much easier. You can tell they’ve poured their hearts into this place.
My husband and I were able to spend the following night in the sweetheart cabin and there we had out of town friends and family stay in the other beautiful on site cottages!

Ian and Teresa are the best! They are professional and yet very personable to work with; they really care about who you are and what your experience will be. The location is remote but lovely and allows a very private event without concerns about other events or outside noise/distractions. Ian & Teresa are very responsive and having built The Country English Barn themselves and being well known business owners in the community, they are excellent resources for information about other vendors, etc. in the area. The venue is clean, lovely, spacious, and well maintained. Ian & Teresa were a God send to us and we highly recommend them and their venue! -

The English Country Barn of the Carolina’s is an accurate title for this Venue site.
As the mother of the bride, I found the Venue was exactly what my daughter had envisioned (her words). The Barn is beautiful and the room where my daughter and her bridesmaids got ready was perfect. Plenty of room for the makeup artist to work on the girls. Room was also outfitted with a refrigerator, coffee maker with all supplies. The owner left a bottle of champagne in the dressing room. Perfect touch. Groom’s room looked great too. Downstairs the huge open space with the live edge tables and bar area (which was also a live edge) was amazing. We were able to have a happy hour and the bar space was perfect for guests. The inside Chapel was the right size for our wedding party. We did not have ceremony outside due to weather. The way the three long live-edge dinner tables are placed, created a fantastic dance floor for family and friends. The Venue had two refrigerators..one for flowers and one for food and drinks. We used both. The kitchen was laid out well with everything we needed…including a multilevel heating until..which was perfect for our rehearsal dinner. We stayed at the Cottage which is on the property. It was perfect for the six of us. We rented the Venue for the weekend. We loved it. The Owners could not have been nicer and if we had questions, they would respond immediately. Our family would recommend this Venue for your wedding.The English Country Barn of the Carolinas's reply:

We are so looking forward to our May 2022 weeding event. Ian, the owner, is so accommodating & the venue is breathtakingly beautiful. He has thought of everything! It is very apparent that much research & love has been poured into the venues creation. We booked back in January while still under construction! Ian was very easy to talk to & welcomed suggestions & valued our input. Can't wait for the open house to see how it all came together. I would like to start off by saying that Ian is one of the most genuine people I’ve encounter thus far. He was very passionate about his venue and the connection he wants to create in the community. Ian was able to meet all of our needs and we never felt like he was taken advantage of us. I called him on a Sunday, and he immediately called me back to set up an appointment! When we arrived, we were greeted by him and he went into all the details with us without disregarding our needs. The venue itself is beautiful and clean! It is also very private which will allow us to have the ceremony and party of our dreams. Before seeing this venue, I was super stressed because no venue could meet our unique needs ( we are an interracial couple with complex needs due to cultures) and I love that Ian is giving us the flexibility to combine both of our cultures at his venue. I would 1000% recommend this venue to anyone, please come take a look at the beautiful venue Ian and his family have built. ❤️ Cannot wait to get marry here!The English Country Barn of the Carolinas's reply:

If you are looking for the "Wow" venue, you found it. The pictures don't do it justice. The price is under market value and the owners could not be kinder. This sprawling venue is right out of a fairy tale with multiple indoor/outdoor areas to exchange vows. The worst thing about this place is having to choose only area to recite our nuptials. Working with the owners was easy. Unlike other venues, The English Country Barn comes without the pressures of using a specific caterer, the upcharge of having the alcohol provided, and they don't nickel and dime you for table used or hour you're on site. You can tell they are in the business for the right reasons. I looked at venues all over Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Banner Elk, Boone and Wilmington. I could not find anything to beat the price, beauty or ease of booking. The owner was responsive to my questions and quick to communicate, they spared no expense in the carpentry and did things by the book so there is no chance of things going wrong. If you are lucky enough to find an opening for your event, snatch it up!The English Country Barn of the Carolinas's reply:
