Excellent Venue
The Desoto was hands down the best venue in town. They were very accommodating through COVID, professional, friendly, and took the stress of the wedding off my hands by being all-inclusive with the services provided. We chose the Harborview Ballroom on the 15th floor, and the views were breathtaking! The drinks were amazing...and the food was drool-worthy. All of my guests said this was the best wedding they've ever attended and I couldn't agree more! -

Wonderful Venue
Our wedding experience at the DeSoto could not have been better. Abby Mew was so helpful and made the planning very easy. The ballroom was beautiful and she worked so well with our vendors. The food was absolutely delicious--- the most difficult part was choosing our menu since everything that we had at the tasting was so good. My daughter’s wedding was at the Cathedral and we had a lot of out of town guests, so the DeSoto was the perfect hotel. The DeSoto staff worked well with us as we determined how many rooms we needed for our wedding block. (And the block rate was reasonable.) The groom’s parents hosted welcome cocktails on the DeSoto patio the night before the wedding and it was a perfect introduction to the wedding weekend. The front desk was also very helpful. All in all, the DeSoto is a beautiful reception venue and Abby Mew will make it easy so you can enjoy the party! -

Amazing!!!
We had everything at the Desoto. Our rehearsal Dinner, ceremony, cocktail hour and reception! They were amazing through the entire process, treated us and all our guest amazing and went above and beyond for us. So glad we chose the DeSoto as our wedding venue. The staff was fabulous and Ann Mashburn was THE BEST to work with. The food is AMAZING, and our wedding was Perfect thanks to them!! -

We had both our rehearsal dinner (harborview room) and the reception (Oglethorpe ballroom) at the DeSoto. Our ceremony was at the Cathedral of St John the Baptist, and we had a large number of out-of-town guests. We received a ton of comments from guests about how much they enjoyed the convenience of having everything so close. Stacia and her team were great to work with! -

What a fantastic venue with fabulous views of Savannah. The service was excellent all the food arrived together and it was hot and tastey! Maria our bar person was awesome and looked after all our guests so well. All the staff at the De Soto were incredibly helpful. Many of our guests stayed at the hotel and they all thought the rooms were gorgeous. Finally Dee was the most excellent coordinator. She was always available to us and everything went so smoothly. Such a lovely lady and so professional. I would totally recommend the Hilton de Soto for a wedding! -

Dee and the Hilton Desoto staff were very accommodating to our needs. The Harbor View Room was a beautiful setting for my daughter's wedding reception. I could not have been more pleased. All guests were very complimentary of the venue as well as the food. -

Our rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception were all at the Hilton Savannah Desoto on 2/20/15-2/21/15. Everything was absolutely PERFECT and exceeded our expectations!!! The staff is amazing and they all went above and beyond for us! It was truly a special weekend and we are so thankful to the entire team there for making it a HUGE success. We highly recommend this hotel for all events! We will definitely be staying there every time we visit Savannah. :-) -

Working with Stacia at the Hilton to plan our wedding reception was the best experience we could have asked for. She was so helpful and willing to bend over backwards for anything I, my husband, or family needed. Our wedding wouldnt have been even close to what it was without her and the staff at the Hilton. -

We had my wedding Reception at the Hilton DeSoto and it was wonderful! The cocktail hour was downstairs in the Pulaski room which has floor to ceiling windows and a outdoor patio so my guests could choose to sit inside and mingle or outside and enjoy the beautiful weather and take in the sights! Our reception was upstairs in the 15th floor Harbor View room which has a panoramic view of Downtown Savannah- it was simply amazing and my guests couldn't stop talking about the view! 90% of our guests were from out of town so it was perfect for them to have such a great view from all angles.... I liked the Harbor View Room especially for a wedding because you get the whole entire floor to yourself- your guests don't have to share the bathrooms with any of the hotel guests and you can keep everyone right there with you enjoying every moment. Stacia Cleeland is fabulous! Always quick to respond to any question I had and always took her time dealing with us and explaining things! The food was wonderful and Stacia made sure everything was how I wanted it! The staff was very friendly and accommodating and always had a smile on their faces. -

Stacia and her team at the DeSoto made our entire experience amazing. The Pulaski room was perfect for our ceremony and our guests loved the cocktail hour. Our reception in the Harborview room was perfect, and our guests couldn't get over the amazing view of Savannah. -

We chose the Desoto Hilton to have our daughter's wedding reception this June.
There are not enough words to describe what a wonderful experience it was to work with Stacia Cleeland and the staff there. Stacia went above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect! I can't thank her enough for all of her time and patience this past year. The ballroom was gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the service was top notch! I would highly recommend this venue. -

FANTASTIC VENUE! I cannot say enough positive things about my experience working with the Hilton and in particular Stacia Cleeland. She almost always responded to email questions within the day and was a true pleasure to work with - totally took some of the stress out of the process. I did a lot of comparison shopping around Savannah and originally thought I could save money by having a DIY wedding. When it came down to it, I'm sooooooo glad I went with the Hilton which provided catering, tables, lines, dinnerware (and a flexible bar package!) etc. There are enough things to worry about planning a wedding without adding these to them and I found that getting these things through other rental companies was not at all cheaper. The Hilton did a fantastic job with everything and it was truly wedding of our dreams! -

Stacia and her team at Hilton Savannah DeSoto are top notch coordinators and I wouldn't trade my experience with them for anything. My reception was perfect and it's due to Stacia's nonstop communication with me up to and the day of. She even typed and printed the scripture for my son to read at the ceremony because someone left it at home. The venue is absolutely beautiful and the photographer was able to get wonderful shots. I am most gracious to the team at Hilton Savannah DeSoto for making my wedding day perfect!! -

Fantastic and affordable venue. As the catering coordinator Stacia Cleeland was a pleasure to work with. Extremely professional and very responsive, Stacia ensured that we covered every detail in planning and more importantly made sure the day went off without a hitch. The food was delicious and the hotel staff was extremely friendly. I would highly recommend the Hilton DeSoto. -

Stacia Cleeland made a confusing catering choice easy. She led us through all the choices and our guests were impressed and had a wonderful time. The wedding party was treated like MVP's all the way through. What a wonderful party. She coordinated all of the vendors so all we had to do was show up and enjoy! -

Had our reception here. Absolutely beautiful venue. We worked with Megan Mahoney for 10 months, and was so incredibly helpful every step of the way. The staff that we worked with on wedding day was very helpful and friendly. We had compliments from some guests about how fun and funny the bartenders were! Definitely got our money's worth here. Beautiful venue in a gorgeous part of downtown, accommodated our guests well, absolutely delicious food. Loved every minute! -

We chose the Hilton for our reception and they also catered the food. This was a destination wedding for us, so we had a lot of communication via email. Megan was very patient with us in working on the budget and menu. I think we went through numerous options, but it all worked out in the end. We even got to meet the chef during our visit to Savannah a month before the wedding. He was very friendly and accommodating on changes to the menu. We had guests from various parts of the US, so the taste in food varied. Some liked the temp to which the steak was cooked and some didn't. However, that kind of thing is expected with 170 people but it was cooked how we ordered it. We used the Oglethorpe room. It is rich in mahogany color with a huge chandelier in the middle. The pictures came out amazing. I highly recommend this room. Overall, our experience with the Hilton was great. It's tough planning a wedding, but they helped make it a little easier. -

Everyone involved in putting on my wedding and arranging for rooms, etc. was fantastic! They all knew I was the bride and were quick to ask me if I ever needed anything anytime they saw me. They were all great! The venue was fantastic and I would highly recommend it! -

I chose the Desoto for the view of the Harborview Room on the 15th floor. Simply breathtaking! Beth Miller was my in-house coordinator & she was just amazing. She took the time to answer & explain everything to me both over the phone & in person. This was a destination wedding & she worked around my schedule & set the meetings for when I was in town. Everything turned out perfectly, the staff was curteous & quick. All of our out-of-town guests had nothing but good things to say about the whole weekend! -

The staff at the Desoto Hilton Savannah were very helpful in planning our wedding and reception. We had a small wedding (25 guests) and we had the ceremony and seated dinner reception in the same room. I have a lot of food sensitivities and the chef created a menu especially for us that took all my dietary restrictions into account. And everyone raved about the food. He even accommodated two young children in the party with their own menu. The service during dinner was outstanding and Stephanie was able to accommodate some last minute changes and additions. Overall I couldn't believe the value we got for our money. I would definitely use them again for a similar event. -

Beth and her staff really worked to make sure I felt as little stress as possible on my big day. The Hilton's menu is varied and it was easy to find the reception food that best fit our tastes. The room we had our reception at was at the top of the hotel and the view was breathtaking. I would reccommend the Desoto Hilton to anyone for any type of event. -

The service was absolutely wonderful! Stacia, the hotel coordinator, went above and beyond to make our day perfect...and was so good about always being available to answer questions and accommodate our needs as they came up. The staff was so friendly and knew us by name, greeting us with smiles from the time we first checked into the hotels front desk all the way thru check out. The hotel did their best to allow us early check in on all the suites we reserved and we so good about meeting all of our needs regarding those. Organizing and reserving the room block was the only thing we had a couple of hiccups with - not all of our guests got the welcome bags they were supposed to, but that worked out as well in the end. Overall, great experience, beautiful hotel, wonderful staff, gorgeous ballroom! Thanks Desoto Hilton for making our wedding weekend so special! -

We booked the Hilton DeSoto for our wedding ceremony in April 2016. The price was extremely reasonable and the customer service has been impeccable! They have willing met with us on short notice (we are planning our wedding cross country from Seattle) and have been accommodating and helpful throughout the planning process! -

Our wedding was absolutely amazing thanks to the staff at the Hilton Desoto Savannah. It was really a dream wedding at a perfect venue. Stacia Cleeland was incredibly available, she answered all of my questions and I never had to wait more than a few days (sometimes a few hours) to hear back from her. For over a year she was very patient with my planning process and the end result was fantastic. My guests gave rave reviews about Augustine too, as her oversaw our reception and made sure everyone was happy. In my opinion, that's incredibly rare and I was so thankful for all of Augustine's effort to make my guests feel welcome and catered to. The entire hotel went above and beyond, even after a few hiccups! For example, our suite wasn't available as early as we thought because the guests hadn't checked out on time. So a staff member went out of her way to track down the guests and Stacia helped to clean the room herself so we could get in there as fast as possible. Now THAT'S exceptional service. Everything from the food (it was DELICIOUS) to the service to the location was fantastic. And not to brag, but more than a few of my guests said it was, "the best wedding ever!" I highly, highly recommend this as a wedding venue. We could not have been happier! -

Stacia was wonderful to work with and made the planning so easy. She went above and beyond to make it special for us. The Harbor view room was perfect with the best views of the city! Also perfect location for some beautiful pictures with the square right behind it. The rooms and lobby also made for perfect backdrops and were very accommodating and comfortable to get ready in. The Harbor view room definitely made for a great reception room and there was plenty of room to party! The dinner service was superb and we had many compliments on the upscale level of service that our guests received. There were some issues that occurred but Stacia has done everything you make up for it. Only suggestion I have if using the DeSoto for the reception is to make it very clear how you want the cake handled when serving and after. Would definitely use them again especially working with Stacia!-

The venue, staff and food were wonderful. There were a few bumps when we tried to decorate the reception hall the night before the wedding. We weren't able to get to the 15 floor so I had to talk to someone in the lobby to open it for us. The event did get pricey after taxes included however the staff was very professional and courtesy. We enjoyed having the ceremony and reception at the same place. -

We reserved a block for our wedding. The sales manager was very helpful in arranging our block, however, the front desk and customer service was horrible.
We left a number of gift bags at the front desk, which were to be given to the guests in our block. Unfortunately, the front desk never handed the gift bags to our guests. We spent a great amount of time, as well as money, on these bags and it was a frustrating to learn that no one received them. We were not given an explanation, and when we went to retrieve the gift bags, the front desk employees were a bit rude and short with us.
Our guests also informed us that the front desk was short and rude with them as well when checking in.
The sales manager was very helpful and the hotel is very nice, however, we were left disappointed as a result of the front desk. -

Beautiful venue, disappointing post-wedding experience
My husband and I chose The DeSoto for our wedding because of its beautiful venue, historic charm, and reputation for hospitality. Our wedding day itself was wonderful, and many of the staff members we interacted with were kind and worked hard to ensure everything came together.
Unfortunately, our experience after the wedding has left us disappointed.
A chair rental company we hired delivered the wrong chairs to our ceremony and reception spaces. The hotel stepped in and rearranged the chairs a few hours before the wedding, which we were grateful for at the time. We repeatedly thanked the staff and were told that everyone had come together to make it happen so that we could enjoy our day.
What we were not told was that this effort would later result in a significant additional invoice.
After the wedding, we received a charge of over $1,300 related to the chair situation. Because the amount seemed unusually high, I politely requested documentation showing how the charge had been calculated. The explanation ultimately provided showed approximately $660 in labor costs, with the remainder consisting of service fees and operational impacts related to hotel operations.
My concern has never been with paying for actual labor performed. The staff worked hard, and I respect that. My concern is that no one informed us of these charges beforehand, no one sought our approval before incurring them, and the additional costs beyond the labor itself were difficult to understand and reconcile.
Throughout the process, I have tried to remain respectful and simply ask for clarification and supporting documentation. As a bride, it was disappointing to feel that a situation presented as an act of hospitality on the wedding day later became a source of unexpected charges and ongoing dispute.
The venue itself is beautiful, and our wedding day was special. I only wish the communication and post-event customer service had reflected the same level of care that was shown during the event itself. All of this has left such a sour taste in our mouths that we have no desire to ever go back. And that’s a shame because we got married there and we wanted it to be filled with only positive memories. -
