The perfect wedding

I cannot say enough about how perfect The Bull Run was for our wedding. Amanda and her team made for a flawless and gorgeous event. From the first tour, to the tasting, to the event, I don't have a single thing I would change. Amanda was so responsive and never made me feel like I was asking too many questions. She made us so comfortable and confident in our big day. We did our rehearsal dinner here as well and they made both events to special We will definitely be back for meals and the food is incredible. Highly, highly recommend them.

Our wedding couldn't have been more easy

Amanda is literally the best. Our wedding day went so smoothly. She was able to help us with every detail and is a pleasure to plan an event with. The bull run was the perfect venue, everything was perfect and my husband and I are both super happy with how our day went.

Micro Wedding during COVID

I wish I could give the Bull Run more than 5 stars! From start to finish, The micro wedding was a great value especially during COVID. The Bull Run made my son and daughter in law's wedding dreams come true. Amanda was amazing on what she does. She was prompt, knowledgeable and beyond helpful. So, if you are looking for a wedding venue in this area, this is it. No need to look further. You won’t regret it!!!!

Perfect venue for our unique wedding

We are a queer couple who wanted to feel 100% free to be our authentic selves throughout the wedding planning process. We looked at several venues and left each one feeling discouraged until we found The Bull Run. We were immediately charmed by Amanda and her welcoming personality. The vibe is a totally relaxed, family owned, friendly atmosphere where we felt completely at ease. There was so much flexibility offered in pricing and in scheduling (with Covid you never know what could happen but they were willing to work with us). The event itself was pure magic. From the covered bridge to the delicious food. With Amanda in charge we didn't worry about anything and were able to focus on having the best day ever. We couldn't imagine having a better experience and will continue to hold The Bull Run in our hearts.

The Bull Run experience surpassed all expectations

My husband and I are so thrilled that we were able to have our wedding reception at the Bull Run! The venue, the food, the staff, the outside vendors we worked with through the Bull Run's recommendation, were all far above our experiences with other weddings we've been to. Every single guest was very complimentary on our good judgement in choosing the Bull Run! Especially, Amanda, the coordinator, was outstanding. She was responsive, flexible, had the patience of a saint, and was full of wonderful ideas. Our original plan was for May of 2020, but when covid hit that plan needed to change. The Bull Run staff worked with us every step of the way, and the result was a fantastic reception this past July. Thank you all so much!!

Perfection from 3k miles away

We are from Massachusetts but live in Washington and wanted to go back for our wedding to avoid the financial burden of flying and housing our guests. We are BEYOND fortunate to have found Amanda. She was an absolute angel (I told her that multiple times throughout the evening)! We were able to plan the entire thing from 3k miles away without ever having met her and it was relatively stress free...she did literally everything!!! Every time I had a question and started to stress her answer was almost always "I'll take care of that". She made our dream wedding possible on our shoe string budget, and we didn't have to do a thing except show up and have a blast. We got so many compliments on the food, the decor, and that beautiful bridge. Will update with more photos as we get them. Amanda...thank you ❤️

Magical even during a pandemic

Update: We had our wedding party on 10/2 and it was beyond words! Everything was perfect and better than I imagined pre Covid. Everyone raved about the food and how much of it there was and how delicious. Amanda was fabulous! She has her timing for weddings down perfectly. Everyone said how the timing was the best timing they have ever had at a wedding! There was no lull and things moved along perfectly.

We didn’t have to worry about a thing! You made my dreams come true this making our dreams come true :). Thank you!!! 💞💞💞

There isn’t enough words to describe our experience with The Bull Run as our wedding venue! We booked our 10.3.2020 wedding in Jan 2019. Amanda is amazing from the moment you meet her! She is responsive to questions and none are too silly!

We had our fabulous tasting and had planned to meet in March for table landscape. That was before Covid...who would have expected any of what has transpired in 2020?!? No one! In all the unknown Amanda continued to answer my questions and concerns even when I assume she was not working at the time. She reassured me and made sure I was ok.

We sent out our save the dates and hoped our wedding would go on. But like the rest of 2020 nothing is following a schedule. I was so sad and torn. I wanted our wedding date and music and videographer to capture moments of love and happiness. We decided we would postpone.

Until Amanda said they are offering brides to keep their date and have a small ceremony only at no extra cost. Or we could have a small ceremony and reception with all the precautions. My heart soared at the possibility of having our wedding ceremony as planned (sort of).

I called all my other vendors and the date and time would still work. The guests were family and very close friends, but we had our DJ, our videographers and photographers there.

Amanda was amazing throughout the process and she just said we will make it work and it will be beautiful! She was absolutely correct!

We got married on 10.3.2020 under the twinkle lit bridge. Amanda was right there helping and doing anything she could to help. I didn’t worry about a thing! She made sure we started at exactly 2pm per my request ;)

There are no words for how amazing the whole experience was from the start! We can say one thing...we can’t wait to do it again in 2021 with our original guest list! So we get to work with Amanda for another year!

I highly recommend the Bull Run for dinner, events, concerts etc!

Superb service and venue at an extremely reasonable price

Amanda was very easy to speak to and highly competent. She was always in a great mood! We were not very stressed during our wedding planning experience and she had a lot to do with it. The wedding itself was fantastic. We chose The Bull Run because it was the most affordable option that could host our whole family, but in no way would I say we sacrificed quality for a good price. The food was fantastic. Everything was decorated beautifully and the staff were wonderful. I recommend their wedding services without hesitation.

Absolutely Magical

My wedding day here was more perfect than I could have ever imagined. Amanda was amazing to work with and she was very accommodating and kept my mind at ease! She really nailed everything I asked for and made sure everything went as smooth as possible. Would highly recommend if you want a stunning, rustic wedding!

Wish we could do it again it was so fantastic!

The Bull Run is definitely a hidden gem! We fell in love with the covered bridge and the twinkle lights and Amanda the wedding coordinator! The entire process was easy and seamless--much in part due to Amanda!--we never had any worries about anything going smoothly. The food was fantastic. The atmosphere was wonderful and that bridge and those lights are magazine worthy! Love, love, loved it.

My husband and I had the most perfect wedding day. The Bull Run was beautiful, affordable and just what we were looking for for our small intimate wedding. Amanda was amazing to work with and I would recommend her in second. I wish we could do it again!

WE LOVE THE BULL RUN!! We choose The Bull Run for our wedding because we go there for Sunday Brunch. The food...AMAZING! The staff...AMAZING! The ceremony on the covered bridge...AMAZING! The reception room was set up exactly the way we had discussed and Amanda made the personal touches reflect exactly who we are. We had the best day EVA!!! Choosing to have my wedding at the Bull Run was easily the best choice I have ever made! Amanda was amazing. She is a fantastic person, and really really knows her wedding stuff. She was extremely flexible and willing to let us to basically design our own dream wedding (with her help and expertise of course!). We were on a budget and they were so understanding and worked with us so we could get the most out of our wedding experience. The prop room Amanda has with stuff from leftover from other weddings was a godsend and helped me create my dream centerpieces. The food was delicious (from the few bites I got any time to try, but I was told it was amazing). They even helped us do an ice cream sundae bar - so fun. We had a family emergency the month of our wedding and my fiance's mother was in the hospital, and The Bull Run (Amanda in particular) was really amazing. We dropped off everything we needed the day before the wedding and she set it up perfectly as we planned. I would have never known where to start when it came to planning a wedding, but Amanda knows her stuff, and The Bull Run gave us the wedding of our dreams. I really would highly recommend this venue to everyone.

We had so much fun! Amanda was professional and made our day perfect. She arranged flowers from trader joes on the day of the wedding and they looked great! So Amanda was our wedding coordinator and florist. Haha. Also, when there was difficult with the music (we used our phones), she fixed the issues immediately. The food was excellent and the space was perfect. We couldn't have been happier! Thanks Amanda and the staff at the bull run!!

The Bull Run went above and beyond what I had expected. Amanda the amazing coordinator is amazing and will become your best friend in a matter of moments. She’s the most organized person I have ever met. She ensured from start to finish that everything was as perfect as it could be. The food was five stars and definitely was the talk of the evening and people are still talking about (Try the mashed potatoes and the salmon!) our wedding day was truly magical because of the bull run and I couldn’t thank them enough.

Amanda Davidson and the staff @ Bull Run really were top notch and very accommodating as we made our wedding plans. We had an amazing day and it was as perfect as we could have ever imagined. The food was delicious and the Garden room/patio was elegant and exactly what we wanted.

The Bull Run is a fun and unique venue to have a wedding, the Covered Bridge is especially wonderful for a ceremony and pictures. Amanda, the coordinator, was fantastic throughout the whole process. She was always ready to offer advice and help with finding creative ideas for the wedding. The owners are friendly and attentive, and the venue as a whole is very flexible and accomidating. The food was great and the event packages have a lot to offer. I would highly recommend this venue.

We can’t complain about this venue or our awesome coordinator at all!!! Amanda was amazing to say the least! She answered every question we had, helped every step of the way, and made us and our families feel important!! Not to mention, the food and atmosphere is outstanding!!! We still are receiving calls about it! If you love clam chowder, then this is the place for you!! You definitely get your money’s worth, and feel not just like an object, but valued individuals! The Bull Run is the place to go if you’re looking for great food, fun, and a family feel :)

As two women who had been together for twenty-nine years, we wanted a more relaxed ceremony and celebration—a quaint setting with great food and lots of dancing! We married in the Shirley Meeting House, one mile from the Bull Run. We loved Amanda, the Function Coordinator! She was flexible in meeting with us and very responsive throughout the planning process. Amanda worked meticulously behind the scenes at both venues—taking care of things we hadn’t even thought of! The staff was very welcoming and attentive to all our guests’ needs. Having eaten often at the restaurant, we knew the food would be excellent and were not disappointed— from dietary restrictions to a pie buffet instead of a wedding cake, our guests raved about the food. Another plus for this venue was the two hotels within six miles, to accommodate guests. Due in large part to the Bull Run’s dedication to high standards, our day was perfect in every way. The venue and service far surpassed our expectations, we highly recommend the Bull Run for your wedding or any other special event.

Amanda was such a blessing to work with in the midst of wedding planning stress! She made everything so easy for us, answered all of our questions (big and small), gave us her opinions, and was super responsive. Her energy and optimism put us at ease and we felt that she truly cared about making our wedding day as special as we always dreamed. The best part was that Bull Run was extremely affordable - to get prime rib at the same price as chicken is unheard of, plus the cake price is included, and the Sawtelle room is formal enough for a wedding but casual enough where people feel comfortable. I would recommend this venue to anyone for their wedding.

Honestly this is the best vendor by far! I had the best reception all thanks to Amanda. Amanda was so kind and made sure everything went perfectly. She answered all and every question I had. She goes above and beyond. I highly recommend this place and they are fairly priced.

The bull run was a perfect place for my wedding it was beautiful and I loved the covered bridge. Amanda was amazing and super helpful. She was extremely flexible and answered all our questions even at 9 at night! Amanda helped make our special day worry free. I loved how they did the set up and break down for us made everything so easy for us.

Everything was great. We got so many compliments on the food! The only thing that was a little disappointing was the fact the outside speakers to the patio did not work. We had planned on using an ipod for music ipo a DJ since our wedding was about 30 people including us and it was a little tight in the garden room. If I would have known I probably would have hired a DJ for dancing. All in all, you can't expect everything to go perfect and it was a small hiccup on our day. We captured our special day, family and guests had fun, and so many people raved about the food .

We were married at the Bull Run Restaurant in Shirley on September 2nd of this year. We planned our wedding in under 3 months and Amanda was there for us every step of the way from last minute changes, planning, tastings, getting ready, and everything in between! Our guests RAVED about the food, we had chicken alfredo, yankee pot roast & clam chowder with salad! Our cake was even included in our package and Amanda recommended great vendors! We had the time of our lives that night and didn't have to worry about a thing! They even had everything decorated early so we could see it before guests arrived! We had our dream wedding at the Bull Run!

I cannot say enough good things about Amanda and her team at the Bull Run. Amanda was so great about communication-- any time I had any questions she would get back to me very promptly, and was always very accommodating. I so enjoyed working with her before the wedding, and the day itself she was fabulous! Every detail that I could have possibly imagined was taken care of and well, everything was coordinated and I never felt like I had to worry about anything.
Aside from including a cake from my choice of two fantastic bakeries in the package, but they also provided me with a list of trusted vendors to narrow down my search.
Overall, the pride the Bull Run takes in what it does, the quality of the service (and food!!), and the diligence of the staff all exceeded expectations, and made the wedding planning process and wedding itself a success and a very low-stress situation!

There are so many good things to say about the Bull Run in Shirley!

Amanda, the venue's wedding planner/hostess/Jill of All Trades was so attentive and professional. From our very first meeting, she answered every question, major or minor, with thought and care. Amanda was the wedding hostess and event planner that we need to make sure our event was a success. I personally ask a lot of questions so having someone who was responsive and thorough was a must. Amanda did everything for us, she helped us with our flower centerpieces, she allowed us to browse her collection to build our own centerpieces and even pulled a few surprises, like getting lavender sashes to match our theme! Every detail major or minor was handled by Amanda and her team! I would highly recommend Amanda and the Bull Run for ANYONE looking for a cost effective venue with a team that truly cares about your event. Amanda was the best hostess I could have ever dreamed of.

We vetted several venues before selecting the Bull Run and none compared to the Bull Run. At these other venues, the smaller your wedding, the less the planners cared about your event. But not at the Bull Run! This restaurant is family owned and operated which makes it the perfect place for a wedding of any size. The family personally introduced themselves to us on our wedding day and assured us that everything would go smoothly. If you have ever been to the restaurant, then you'd know how phenomenal the food is. The catering does not disappoint. We had the chicken piccatta and Atlantic salmon with caesar salad, roasted potatoes, and roasted vegetables. The entrees were delicious: homemade piccatta sauce, and wild caught salmon! The appetizers were just as good: homemade caesar dressing, fresh herbs for the sides. So delicious!

Unlike other wedding packages, there are no hidden fees. Our package included the cake, reception, buffet, and ceremony. We could not have been happier with our vendors and venue!

The Bullrun was our second venue that we were checking out. We instantly fell in love with it. Then when meeting with Amanda we just knew it was for us! Amanda is such a pleasure to work with. She is very responsive and has great advice when needed. I felt pretty stress free with my wedding planning knowing she was there to guide me. Plus all the food is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! My husband and I had the best experience start to finish at the Bull Run! Amanda was there to answer any questions within minutes of an email! She guided us along the way, offering suggestions, and even an amazing little ballroom as an alternative to our chilly patio reception! The guests were so happy with the food, and so were we! Amanda said the bride and groom would eat, and she sure was right! The historic atmosphere and staff are perfect! This was truly my dream wedding! Just go have lunch and meet with Amanda, I promise you'll love it!

We looked at several venues before deciding on The Bull Run. When we met with Amanda, we knew right away that we were in good hands. Everything was easy to coordinate, the planning was fun, and they had everything needed to suit our perfect wedding. Come the day of the wedding, everything went off just as planned. Everyone knew where they needed to be, the Shirley Meeting House was beautiful, and the guests loved the food and ambiance of the Tap Room. There is a reason the Bull Run has amazing reviews. It’s because it’s that good. My intimate, small budget wedding could not have been more beautiful if I paid 10 times what I did, and held it at some exotic destination. Everything was perfect.

The food was amazing and everyone loved their meals. As part of our meal package, we chose cupcakes and a bride and grooms cake for cutting, all were delicious.

Amanda, the coordinator, was always very helpful and quick to reply to any questions or concerns I had. We dropped off all of our wedding supplies during our rehearsal, and when I arrived on my wedding day the location was decorated exactly as I had imagined in my mind. I never told Amanda the exact set up I wanted, she just somehow knew. It was unbelievable.

I cannot recommend the Bull Run enough if you are considering this location for your wedding. The end product will be exactly what you want.

The Bull Run is such a perfect place to have your wedding! I was so frustrated at the beginning of our wedding planning when I would email a vendor and it would take them 2 weeks to respond, if they responded at all! Someone told me to check out the Bull Run, so I emailed them and got an email back within an hour!!! That right there meant so much to me personally!! The wedding coordinator Amanda is TRULY AMAZING!!! I couldn't have planned our wedding without her, she helped me tremendously since I had no clue what I was doing! I felt so comfortable doing business with the Bull Run and Amanda quickly became a great friend of mine! There were no games or tricks. They REALLY CARE about making your experience everything you've dreamed of!! The second I hear of anyone else getting engaged I will be telling them first thing to check out the Bull Run!!! :)

This wedding venue has incredible flexibility! It dresses up nice and the room holds plenty of people. Great stage, and UNREAL food!!!! Seriously, the food is outstanding. We did a buffet with a prime rib carving station, there was boatloads of food for all and then some. Amanda Davidson is exceptionally easy to work with and guided us along nicely during the prep, and the actual ceremony. They have a gorgeous covered bridge to get married under too.

I cannot say enough good things about the bull run or the wedding coordinator Amanda. The venue was wonderful, the food was amazing, the price was so reasonable. Everything went perfectly and I never once had to worry on our wedding day because Amanda and the staff made sure everything went smoothly. She was flexible, attentive, and very detail oriented. The Bull Run was absolutely amazing! My husband and I fell in love with the rustic look. We got married on the covered bridge and it was perfect. We worked closely with Amanda, the wedding function coordinator. Amanda helped us with every detail and had so many ideas for decorations, some of which came from her collection. This wasn't just another wedding for her, she actually takes the time to get to know you and devotes an entire week before your wedding making sure every thing is perfect, unlike many venues that have multiple wedding in the same weekend. Our wedding day was flawless thanks to Amanda! We received so many compliments on the food and the venue. We highly recommend the Bull Run to everyone. We defiantly plan on going back for dinner!

Where do I start? The Bull Run was truly amazing. Amanda was our coordinator and she is the best person. She takes all of the stress of your wedding away from you. What a perfect venue to have a wedding. They absolutely go above and beyond to make sure everything is amazing. They have a covered bridge outback that during warm weather you can have the ceremony on it. They have many different function rooms of different sizes to accomodate any size function you need. Amanda, the Wedding and Function Coordinator, it just so great to deal with. She is friendly, professional and on top of her game. She told me, and I found it to be so true, that choosing a place that is a great resaurant first that also does functions rather than a place that does functions and then as an aside serves food. The Food at The Bull Run is top notch. Evryone at our wedding told us how much they enjoyed the food and the venue. We have always gone there to eat and we have seen a few concerts there too. When we found out that they do weddings, there wasn't even a 2nd choice.

My wife and I spent about 8-9 months planning our special day with the help of Amanda Davidson. Amanda was the perfect match to our style. She offered helpful ideas and suggestions without being intrusive. Any time we had a question or were in need of clarification, Amanda was willing and able to help us. She answered emails promptly, would talk endlessly on the phone at our request, to make sure everything was clear and even made time to meet us on site and off, to go over details.
We can't say enough good things about Amanda! Any curve ball that we threw or was thrown at us (hurricane Joaquin, for example) was met with professionalism and hard work. The week before the ceremony, we had to make several large changes due to the threatening weather and electrical issues at Farandnear. We ended up having our ceremony at The Bull Run Restaurant on the covered bridge. We cant express in words how wonderful it was. Our reception was at Farandnear and was absolutely wonderful as well. Amanda even got the kitchen to stay open for us for our after party back at The Bull Run!
We had so many compliments about how professional the Staff was on site all night long. The food was a hit among all who attended! The after party was also the perfect way to wind down after a fun (our wedding was FUN! ask Amanda!) night. We could not have had a better time.
My wife and I would strongly recommend contacting Amanda Davidson at The Bull Run for any function, especially a wedding! She owns mistakes (not that there were many at all) and works hard to fix them. She is very organized and excels in making sure everything is just the way YOU want.
The Bull Run Restaurant as a whole is a great place. Alison always says hello when my wife and I go in for a meal. It is nice that such good people still exist in this crazy world!

We could not have pictured a more perfect wedding! It far surpassed what we had imagined in every way. Simply stated, we can't imagine having had our wedding anywhere else. I'm from a family that shies away from big formal weddings, and while the Bull Run is no doubt equipped for that style, it was the perfect setting for our casual daytime affair. From our initial inquiry, Amanda was there to offer advice, flexibility, and budgeting. She loves what she does, and her work reflects that. In our case, the result was a beautiful, relaxed ceremony and patio reception that had just the vibe we'd hoped for. As others have mentioned, our family and friends are still raving about the food and service, and genuinely appreciated the laid-back atmosphere. Hospitality has been a constant at the Bull Run for 300 years, and it's wonderful to be a small part of its history.

Choosing to have our wedding at the Bull Run was a no brainer. We have close ties with some of the family members who work there, and we got engaged there, with the help of some of our friends! Amanda was particularly helpful in coordinating our event, and from the very beginning was responsive, listened to all of our needs, and on the day of, she made everything go off without a hitch. I trusted Amanda from day 1, and I know that she put in a lot of hard work in setting up the wedding, to ensuring that everyone was where they needed to be on the day of.

I would HIGHLY recommend the Bull Run as your wedding venue. The staff, and management is top notch, and the family atmosphere is one of a kind!

I was surprised and Happy to find that the Bull Run provided a Wedding Planner! Amanda met several times with me (bride) to make sure my dream became a reality. Her first words were, "Describe your vision" After our thorough discussions I never lifted a finger. She and her team took care of everything. She even suggested a photographer since I wasn't from this area. The photographer was superb. Amanda is well spoken and genuinely happy in her job so it shows in the finished product.
All my guests, who are accomplished people commented on well done the event came together. That is due to the fact that tha planner takes care of the details as if it were her event. The owners even came out to wish us well.
The service was impeccable! And I am very customer service oriented.
Better than you could get at some big Boston venue. We can't wait to go back!!

We had the best experience with Amanda and the staff at the Bull Run, our wedding day was everything we had imagined and more. We had our signature cocktail, which they took the time to infuse vodka for us 2 weeks before our wedding, everything that we dropped off was set up with no worries, and the day was flawless, the staff was very efficient in getting out everyone's meals, they paid attention to all of our details, from getting our lei's for our Jimmy Buffet Montage, to making sure our candy buffet was set up and people knew that they could go and enjoy it right after the meals were served. Our tables were beautifully set up with our favors on them, and the day was flawless we were able to have fun and not worry. Also the value that you get for the price you pay in unbelievable for a wedding venue. The Bull Run has character, and makes for the best wedding pictures on the covered bridge as well as through out the venue. I highly recommend this venue for weddings!!!!!!

Our wedding coordinator, Amanda Davidson, took over our wedding after we had booked with the previous coordinator. We were nervous at first but after meeting Amanda, we were very comfortable with her and the way she put us at ease. She knew her job from start to finish. She sat with us the first meeting and went over our entire wedding with us and you would think she had been working there for years. Amanda was available to answer any questions I had immediately by email. I had total confidence in her and that the Bull Run would do a fabulous job with our wedding. A few months before our wedding they prepared our selected meal for us and Amanda served it to us. It was made to perfection and we knew our wedding day meal would be awesome. Our wedding went off without any problems. Amanda was there to cater to my every need, The Bull Run did an awesome job, my family and friends are still raving about how great the food was. Beautiful Environment with the Best Food!

Due to Covid, our original wedding plans in Ireland came to a screeching halt. After reaching out to The Bull Run, we were put in touch with their lovely wedding coordinator, Amanda, who was so helpful and accommodating! She worked with the owners to allow us to have our reception on the covered bridge. Safety precautions were followed to a T, but despite this, everything felt normal and wonderful! All our guests said that it was the best reception food they've ever had. We cannot recommend The Bull Run enough!

I am very happy with The Bull Run. They were really great at responding quickly to me. I'm very pleased with how they were able to accommodate having a sparkling cider toast rather than champagne, since I'd made that decision closer towards the wedding date. Also I didn't have to worry about having someone go decorate, they did that for me and did such a great job. Everything looked better than I expected. The food was fabulous and I had other family members later tell me it was good. I loved the bakery they worked with, and was part of the cost of The Bull Run. Over all I'm very pleased with how well they put my wedding together.

We had our ceremony at Farandnear (an outdoor only venue) in Shirley, and not wanted to tempt the fates with weather, opted to have our reception at the Bull Run. We had our dinner in the garden room, which was a great size, and the food was wonderful. Amanda, there wedding coordinator, was very responsive, and successfully manged several guests with severe dietary restrictions without an hiccups. A big plus is that Bull Run will do all the room set up, including decorating, for you. Win! The only downside for us was that they were having a concert that night, and at the end of the dinner (around 8:30), we could very clearly hear the concert. Since we were ending at 9pm anyway, it wasn't a huge deal, but you might want to confirm that their isn't a concert the same night if you plan to go longer into the night. Beautiful place, great food, easy to work with. Worth it!

We had a great wedding at the bull run. It was one of the best days of our lives! We only have a couple things we truly wished would have been addressed so we could have given this venue a better rating. The staff at Bull Run was unprofessional on the day of our wedding, and we felt like we had been financially taken advantage of. We had tried to pay our final dues the night before (so we wouldn't have to worry on our day) but the cashier at the front couldn't figure out what we owed, so we left and had to do it on our day. We specifically told Amanda we didn't want liquor at our open bar, in the contract, in person, MULTIPLE times. Of course, after our ceremony we come inside and discover everyone has been drinking liquor at the open bar for the past hour and a half. $600 worth of our tab. We were extremely distressed and Amanda didn't apologize or even act surprised. Furthermore her staff gave us attitude when we informed them of their mistake. We were not reimbursed for this and it ate up our bar tab. We also told amanda in writing AND in person that we were doing a $1000 open bar. We told her to let us know when it reached that amount and we would decide then if we would increase the amount. She never approached us. At the end of the night we had a bar tab of $2000. We were angry and upset but we paid our bill because who wants to argue a tab at the end of their wedding night? Again- we had an extraordinary wedding with our family and friends, largely in part to the beautiful setting and delicious food. It was unfortunate that were taken advantage of by having our bar tab ran up twice as much, and the professionalism of the staff and management of the Bull Run were extremely lacking. Because of this, we would not be comfortable recommending this venue to friends or family.
