We wanted a venue where we could have both our ceremony and reception at one place as well as all our food and beverage taken care of so we didn't have to worry about it. Stephanie was there through the whole process end-to-end, helping ensure we had a backup for the ceremony if the weather was bad all the way to planning our meal/beverage selection and my dream glow-dance theme for the reception. More importantly, she treats you like family and shows that she cares, which helped put me at ease and less stressed out (in general) every time we met or spoke, as planning a wedding can be a daunting task. She went above and beyond ensuring every meticulous detail was taken care of and making sure any special requests or questions I had were accommodated.

Our wedding day ended up being a gorgeous fall day with the ceremony right on the lake, followed by a lively reception at the Pavilion. Everything went without a hitch and all of my guests said the food & service was amazing, the ambiance was breathtaking and that it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to. I highly recommend the Abbey and can't thank Stephanie enough for helping make our day truly magical 💖 We can't wait to come back and visit!!

The Abbey is the perfect spot for a Lake Geneva wedding- being on the west shore of the lake but just a quick drive from downtown Lake Geneva! My husband and I knew we wanted a venue with accommodations & catering on site to help ease the wedding process. Not only did The Abbey have both of these but we received so many compliments from our guests on the resort as well as the food and beverages! Almost half our guests ended up coming into town Friday night for our Saturday wedding and made a weekend out of it.

We first toured the venue with Stephanie Adamski (wedding venue coordinator) in December of 2023 and even with the cold snowy weather on our tour Stephanie did a wonderful job helping us see all of the potential options at The Abbey. Stephanie has a gift for attention to details which we so appreciated as I will admit my husband and I are both pretty type A personalities. After every meeting with Stephanie we felt little to no stress and confident in the logistics of our wedding day. Flash forward to the big day- things could not have gone any smoother! We had beautiful fall weather and no hiccups to figure out day of. Everything was delivered as promised and all of Stephanie’s recommendations for decor and planning turned out beautifully. We could not recommend The Abbey enough and we will definitely be returning for weekend get aways in the coming years!

The Abbey is such a great place to have a wedding. They have beautiful waterfront views and the landscaping brings beautiful photos. The reception ballroom/tent set up are beautiful. Stephanie Adamski with the abbey is the best part of planning your wedding here. She is with you every step of the way and works with you to make your dream wedding happen! We absolutely loved working with her and she executed the day flawlessly. Obviously there are always going to be hiccups but she reassured you and is with you on the day making sure it runs smoothly. The food with the abbey and the presentation is also another thing to highlight. We had so many guests tell us how incredible the food was! My husband and I couldn’t have imagine a more perfect and special day! We are thankful we had it at the abbey!

Starting from the first call we had with Amelia (Sales Manager in charge of their room blocks) last November while Jonathan (Wedding-Catering Sales Manager) was out of the office, we knew The Abbey was going to be an amazing venue to work with. Her vibrant personality could be felt over the phone, and made me feel like we’d known her for years. This rang true through every single phone call and email we had during our wedding planning, all the way through being onsite for our wedding week.

Amelia is friendly, approachable, a great listener, accommodating, timely, and hospitable to name just a few. We genuinely felt like she cared about the success of our wedding, and the experience that our guests were going to have. She went as far as working with the reservations team to ensure we got a suite that was previously reserved when it opened up, customizing our wedding block to fit our guests’ needs, helping ensure guest welcome bags were distributed, and welcoming us for our stay with a gift basket + note. We truly believe we would have ended up having our wedding elsewhere if I hadn’t tracked her down last November. 🙂

Similar to Amelia - from the first time we connected with Jonathan to start planning our wedding, we knew we had something unique in our venue team, and felt confident we’d be in great hands throughout the process. Jonathan always responded to our frequent emails in an extremely timely manner – often right away even when we told him to wait until business hours – and it often felt like he was one step ahead of us. He was extremely helpful with providing his industry expertise, guiding our decision making based on previous experience with weddings / large events, and felt confident that he ultimately had our best interests in mind. He helped us incorporate unique components / details to our wedding that our guests are still talking about, and gave us the sweetest welcome package in our suite! (And recommended we book a great secluded suite!)

Jonathan somehow was able to accommodate all of our requests in some way or another, and always made us feel like he was so personally invested. We never could have imagined working with someone so responsive, flexible, detail-oriented, and somehow as passionate about our wedding as we were. His organizational and coordination skills shined exceptionally throughout the last 10 months – even the day after the wedding he was helping us move things out of the ballroom and transferring flowers to brunch. He was truly there every step of the way.

We have not been able to stop raving about both Jonathan and Amelia to anyone who asks, and can confidently say we don’t have any negative feedback to share about our experience. Our guests have been the same way and have all been positively commenting on their whole experience. Any challenges that came up throughout our process were always met with solutions, a clear path forward, and their team going above and beyond. Jonathan and Amelia were even there to see us out the Monday after our wedding as we departed, and made not only us but also our parents feel like family.

Truly everyone from check-in, Greg at valet, and restaurant + spa staff, to the catering + events teams and management being open to our ever changing requests (+ and keeping up with our large group size) – everyone was so accommodating to work with. We cannot say more positive things about the staff, venue, and our experience!

Stephanie Adamski turned our wedding from a dream to a fairy tail. She made our special day one that we will never forget. Every little detail was perfect. Her staff and the rest of the Abbey were on top of everything and made the day go off without a hitch. We can’t thank her and everyone else enough. You will have the same experience as us and I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Stephanie and the Abby.

We had our wedding in the Westshore Pavilion and it couldn't have been more perfect! Stephanie and the team at the Abbey were wonderful at making sure our day was well coordinated and that the venue looked perfect. This venue is a perfect mix of outdoor garden with the amenities of concrete floor and heat/air in case of in inclimate weather. They were wonderful with incorporating our ideas and finding ways to make them work. The Spa handled all the bridesmaid's hair and makeup for the wedding. Lisa was great at coordinating the day for the 10 girls and the girls loved the ability to be with each other while they were getting ready. All the bridesmaids raved about their experience with their hair and makeup! Thanks Abbey and Avani!

Our wedding was originally planned for 2020 but alas, covid struck and we were forced to postpone. The Abbey Resort literally made it SO easy I almost wasn’t even upset. Kelly was a DREAM to work with and is SO responsive to emails and calls. Do not hesitate booking your wedding here, you won’t regret it!

We got married last week at The Abbey after 2 years of planning and it was AMAZING. The entire process planning with staff went so smoothly. We worked closely with Kelly and she was phenomenal. Very prompt with emails and answered my MANY questions over the years with ease. She was kind and considerate through it all. The resort Itself was so pretty. The grounds were kept amazing and all of the staff was helpful surrounding the weekend. We loved every minute of our weekend and the Abbey made it truly spectacular.

My husband and I had stayed at the Abbey a couple times before getting married and when we were looking for venues, we never thought about the Abbey. I honestly probably thought it would be too expensive. We were staying the weekend and decided to inquire about wedding packages. The bartender referred us to Kelly Pohle the wedding sales manager. From the first encounter with Kelly, I knew she was going to be an absolute pleasure to work with! We had to delay our wedding due to covid and you would think that would be a nightmare with having a wedding already planned. Kelly was so accommodating and made it a very easy and smooth transition. She was always checking in with us, she always returned calls and emails very promptly and made the whole experience stress free. She was great the day of the wedding and things went perfect! I would 100% recommend Kelly and The Abbey to anyone!

We had such a wonderful experience in working with The Abbey Resort, specifically Kelly Pohle. Kelly is one of the main reasons we decided to go with Abbey versus other venues in the Lake Geneva area. She is extremely responsive, helpful, and knows what she is doing!

This venue was absolutely stunning. So many good photo shoot areas. Jordan Mayer the daughter of the owner also did my decorations. The combo together made sure that the wedding was exactly how I wanted it to be. It was also great to get to have the ceremony and reception all in one place so it wasn't confusing for guests to get around.

We had the adventure of planning a wedding during COVID-19. The Abbey wasn't our first (or our second) venue but when we were without a venue for the third time and contacted The Abbey EVERYTHING started falling into place. Emily and her whole team gave everything they had to make sure our wedding was perfect. And it really was. Emily's responsiveness was unparalleled and when we ran into some tricky parts with live streaming the ceremony she worked with all parties to get it just right. The food was amazing. The gazebo... oh my gosh the gazebo was just a stunning place to say "I Do". It seriously felt that Emily was as excited for us to get married as we were. We could not have asked for a better venue for such a special day. Both the Porto room for our reception and the Harbor Ballroom for our Wedding rehersal dinner are just amazing. Everything about it was seemless. We cannot thank Emily and The Abbey enough for all they did for us. We CANNOT wait to come back here year after year for our anniversary and sit down by the water for a drink and listen to live music. Despite a pandemic, it was seriously the best day ever.

Our wedding coordinator, Emily, went above and beyond to make our wedding day amazing. She was quick to respond to our emails and happy to arrange a phone call with us any time we had questions or concerns. The day before and of our wedding Emily was supportive, helpful and a calm presence for us and our bridal party which we greatly appreciated. Overall, we had a great experience at The Abbey. The only negatives were they did not put out enough chairs for our guests at our wedding ceremony which meant several people were left standing. Additionally, there were some minor issues with our booking agent that lead to confusion/frustration for guests that were reserving rooms under our block. Aside from that, we had a beautiful ceremony at the harbor gazebo and our reception in the west shore pavilion tent was wonderful.

We can not say enough good things about The Abbey! Emily and the on-site wedding coordinators were amazing. They were easy to get a hold of and were able to address all of the unavoidable last minute issues. The Abbey itself has been nicely renovated over the last year, and we absolutely loved our reception in the West Shore Pavilion. We loved the resort feel, and all of the options both onsite and locally for our guests to enjoy over the wedding weekend. Highly recommend!

Simply the BEST! From day one until the wedding day...the wedding planning team was with us EVERY step of the way. We always had a person to contact. when the wedding planner left for the day, we were introduced to the banquet manager and the bar manager so we had a face and a name if we needed anything. TOP NOTCH SERVICE! Our guests were very impressed and commented about how great the service was--from the rooms to the restaurants to the reception. Very detail oriented! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Abbey Resort and their wedding planning team!!

The Abbey Resort was a beautiful and perfect venue! It was the most perfect day! The food was amazing!!!! I had so many compliments on the location! The wedding coordinator left right before my wedding but all of our wants and needs were met by the new wedding coordinator Rachel! The staff was very tentative and didn't hesitate to get us anything. The best day of our lives. So many happy tears from beginning to end!

We had our September wedding at The Abbey in the Harbor Ballroom and it was the best day of our lives!!! Tabitha (Bell) Schrock and Claire Roddy answered every question, had amazing ideas, and were so kind and fun to work with during the planning process. We did not have any worries leading up to the day. Tabitha was so organized leading our family and bridal party through the day. Thank you to Rachel and Tony for also taking such wonderful care of us during the reception! The whole staff from the front desk, to housekeeping, to In Room Dining and banquets, to the spa and restaurant was just spectacular all weekend. We have gotten nothing but amazing feedback from all our guests about the quality and friendliness of the service received throughout the weekend. The food was absolutely delicious and the bartenders were fantastic as well. We are so thankful to everyone at The Abbey for making our day so special!

We blocked off this hotel for my wedding the weekend of Oct 7. This place is beautiful. The pictures do not do it justice. Everyone enjoyed the stay. The 240 bar was a blast! We were there Friday and Saturday. It was a little slow getting drinks on Friday. I think they were not expecting such a big crowd; we had about 40 people there. We had dinner at The Waterfront. Most of my family and guests showed up here for dinner. We kept adding more tables and soon we almost had the entire room. They were very accommodating and allowed us to sit together. This was super nice of them. Having worked in the restaurant industry, I know what a pain we had to have been. The food was excellent. We had booked the patio for our wedding rehearsal and it rained! I contacted the wedding sales manager a week before and she reserved an indoor spot for me, I just needed to confirm which one I was going to use 3 hours before. We ended up inside, which was fine. The room was nice and they were very accommodating. The only downside is that the place is a maze. It can be difficult to get from one building to the other, as they are not in numerical order. They also did not put all of my block in the same building. We had to move around from building 6 and 7, which was annoying at times as they are not connected. Other than that, everything was beautiful and perfect for us.

The Abbey was an amazing venue! Everything was so beautiful! We had so many people tell us that it was the best wedding they've ever been too. All of the staff we super helpful and responsive. Angela was our day of coordinator. She was wonderful, and did her best to make sure everything turned out perfect for us. We couldn't have asked for a better day!

My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Abbey on 9/3/17. Our ceremony was at the harbor gazebo and reception in the sandbar room. We have nothing bad to say about our experience! From the first time we met Tabitha (she is amazing) through our wedding weekend, we were so happy and impressed. Everyone at The Abbey is so helpful, genuine, and friendly. We had many, many compliments from our guests! It was truly a beautiful weekend! We can't wait to go back, we'll forever love The Abbey!

We are so glad we picked the Abbey for our special day. From the ceremony at the Gazebo to the Reception at the West Shore Pavillion, we couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting. We hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Abbey on the patio and could not have been happier with the event!
The food was delicious, the set-up lovely, and the staff efficient, pleasant and attentive. Working with the wedding coordinator was easy. She was very accessible, pleasant, professional and accommodated all we asked for. We highly recommend the Abbey for any of your events!

I can't say enough about how great this venue turned out to be for our wedding. Our decision to choose The Abbey came down to how great Tabitha was during our initial meeting as well as everything this place has to offer. Nearly 85% of our guest list was traveling from out of town and we wanted a place that could serve as a "weekend getaway" for everyone if they wanted. Its been almost 3 weeks since our wedding and we are still getting comments from our guests about it - everything from the location to the food to the rooms themselves. Not only were Tabitha and Justin great to work with, but anytime they were out of the office, their backups were incredibly helpful and able to answer any questions we had. That went a long way - especially as the big day got closer and closer.
Our wedding and reception went very smoothly - Tabitha was even there for the rehearsal the night before as well as the day of to make sure everything went as expected, including the wedding party procession itself. This was definitely an added bonus that we were not aware of when we booked the venue.

We recently got married at The Abbey Resort and cannot say enough great things about this venue. Tabitha Bell and her team were beyond exceptional. Tabitha made our entire wedding weekend seamless and stress free. We had so many compliments from guests on the atmosphere, friendly staff, and wonderful amenities. My husband and I just had our wedding at The Abbey in the Harbor Ballroom this past January (for 180) and couldn't be happier with how incredible everything was. From working with Justin on room blocks to working on the rehearsal dinner and wedding day logistics with Robyn Moe, everything was incredibly easy and seamless. The whole hotel was the friendliest bunch each time we came up to the hotel, Robyn was the most amazing Catering Manager to work with, worked tirelessly to ensure the day went perfectly and the hotel guest rooms alone are gorgeous, recently renovated and so convenient after an evening of fun! Not to mention the food was delicious, which is especially hard to do when serving such a large group. We had a magical weekend and highly recommend this venue.

We had our wedding at The Abbey in October and everything was absolutely beautiful and we can't thank them enough! Robyn, our wedding coordinator, was great to work with; very responsive and made sure our day went as smoothly as possible. Justin, our rep. for customer service/rooms, kept us informed from day one on all our guests reservations. These two made wedding planning easy and an enjoyable experience. We couldn't have been happier with our experience at The Abbey. We had our wedding ceremony at the Harbor Gazebo and our reception in the West Shore Pavilion (tent). From the very first email, Robyn was amazing to work with. She was responsive, thoughtful, creative, flexible, calm, enthusiastic...I could go on forever! We requested a menu that was very different from the typical banquet offerings at The Abbey and the chef did an outstanding job with what we requested. We received so many compliments on his creations! Most of our guests also stayed at The Abbey, and everyone enjoyed their time there. It was such a beautiful setting and we had excellent experiences with everyone who worked with us to plan and carry out our wedding. We can't say enough great things about The Abbey!

My husband and I (along with our families) don't have enough words for how perfect The Abbey was for our wedding. From the day we looked at venues, we knew immediately while talking with Tabitha that The Abbey was exactly what we were looking for for our ceremony and reception. Tabitha helped us keep our heads on straight through the entire year we were planning our wedding. She was very responsive with all the questions brides have, and always gave us great guidance and advice when we sought it out. She was extremely organized and always made sure we were on top of everything we needed to do during the planning process with the venue. On our wedding day, she was also a huge help. She assisted in making sure our crazy bridal party stayed on track and that our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception went off without a hitch. We didn't have to lift a finger the entire day and that is large because of Tabitha and The Abbey staff. From a ceremony perspective, I could not imagine anywhere but the Gazebo on the property as a place to have my ceremony. The reception hall was beautiful, the food was, great, and the service was exceptional. Claire was our point of contact for our room block, and she was also extremely helpful and responsive in guiding us through the process of having a room block. We did not hear any complaints from the guest about their stay at The Abbey. Prior to our wedding, The Abbey was always a place we visited by boat with our family to have a bite to eat or grab a drink. It will forever mean so much more to us, and I can't imagine hosting my wedding anywhere else. I would not change a thing about our day. Thank you to The Abbey staff for a truly perfect wedding weekend!

We got married at The Abbey on Friday September 9, 2016. We had our
ceremony at the Harbor Gazebo and the cocktail hour and reception in
the Pavilion. We cannot say enough good things about our day! The
entire day went so smoothly and the staff was always there to make our
lives easier anyway they could. We worked with Tabby and from
beginning to end she was amazing to work with. She was always very
responsive to emails especially since we were coordinating our wedding
while we were both deployed. She made the entire planning process a
breeze! She is very knowledgeable, professional, energetic and has a
great personality so she was a pleasure to work with. She even
personally introduced us to the banquet manager to ensure that if we
had any questions during the reception we could get it figured out but
everything went exactly as planned! The food was outstanding, you
wouldn't believe that they could serve a perfectly cooked Filet to 70
people but they did! The Chicken Fontina and Salmon were spectacular
as well and we still have friends and family that tell us that it was
the best food they ever had at a wedding! There are so many other
wonderful things I can say about our day and The Abbey and their
staff. We can't imagine having our wedding anywhere else. Our guests
were blown away by everything the entire weekend. If you want a
beautiful venue, attentive service, and great quality The Abbey is a
must for your big day!

Loved this venue! The outside ceremony at the Harbor gazebo was beautiful. The reception was in the tent and the dinner food was very good. We could not have asked for better accommodations and the Abbey personnel were on top of things. Loved working with Tabitha and Claire.

I can't say enough about The Abbey!!! They truly are the best people to work with and they made our wedding the most memorable experience!!! I have not one complaint about anything! The food was delicious, atmosphere was so fun, staff was unbelievably nice, service overall was fantastic! Our wedding coordinator Tabitha was the best person you could ever ask for! She goes completely above and beyond to make sure your day is perfect and exactly what you wish for! They are very personal there which I loved and they actually care about they're clients! Our July 9th wedding at the Abbey was everything we could have ever dreamed of. The event went off perfectly without any issues. We were married in the tent, which has floors and air conditioning. Our planner, Tabitha was amazing. From day one, she went above and beyond. Every question I had, every idea I had, every last minute panic I had she was there. Tabitha and her interns made sure that the tent was decorated exactly the way I envisioned it to be. She was flexible and understanding during the entire process.
Our ceremony took place at the gazebo by the water and The Abbey set up a water station for all guests during the ceremony. The gazebo provided stunning views and amble seating for our 177 guests.
The food was simply amazing at our reception. We served prime rib, a pasta dish, and short ribs. I have received so many compliments on the overall taste and quality of the food. The open bar package made sure all of our guests had a great time tearing up the dance floor. Or food during cocktail hour was wonderful too. Our guests are still commenting on the meatballs and grilled cheese!

Overall, I would hands down recommend a wedding at The Abbey. The venue and our planner, Tabitha, made sure our day was picture perfect.

We got married there July 2016 and it was an almost perfect experience. So many people came up to us and said it was the best wedding they had been to. The day ran so smoothly and Tabitha was a great help, especially the days leading up and the day of. In addition to the Abbey being a fantastic venue, they also supplied us with the names of some amazing vendors. Really the only complaint was the top tier of our cake somehow ended up with the gifts so it didn't look the prettiest when we got home but that is so minor in the big picture. I want to thank the Abbey so much for an amazing, perfect day.

It was fantastic having the everything from the rehearsal dinner to the Sunday brunch there. It was great that our guests staying there never had to leave.

We were extremely happy with our wedding at the Abbey. It was so beautiful in a very professional, courteous, and punctual enviornment. We booked on a very busy weekend where there were 4 weddings going on at the Abbey on the same day, but we were still treated wonderfully as if we were the only ones there. Our wedding planner was AMAZING, couldn't have pulled off such a perfect even without her!!

We got married at The Abbey on Friday June 10, 2016. We had our ceremony at the Harbor Gazebo, cocktail hour on the waterfront patio, and reception in the Harbor Ballroom. We cannot say enough good things about our day! The entire day my husband and I just kept looking at each other and saying "this day has been so perfect" because it was!!

We worked with Tabby and from beginning to end she was amazing to work with. She was always very responsive to emails and very organized. She made the entire planning process painless and fun! We worked with Claire to book our room blocks. She was also wonderful to work with, very responsive and professional.

The food was outstanding considering the volume of these meals that they make. We had the Sea Bass, the Chicken Fontina and the Vegetable tower. One of our guests told me after the reception that the chicken "may have been the best thing I have eaten in my entire life". How cool is that?? I've been to other functions at The Abbey before with different menu options and the food was outstanding then too. Another plus, we had a lot of guests with various nutritional restrictions (gluten free, nut free, dairy free, vegan, celiac's). We had every kind of restriction imaginable it seemed like for some of our guests. Tabby assured us that all of them would be accommodated and none of the restrictions were a problem. Whatever our guests needed, they would make it happen. And they did!

There are so many other wonderful things I can say about our day and The Abbey and their staff but there isn't enough room! We can't imagine having our wedding anywhere else. Our guests were blown away by everything the entire weekend. We would recommend The Abbey everyday of the week. If you want a classy venue, attentive service, and great quality The Abbey is a must for your big day!

This past Friday was my wedding, which took place at The Abbey Resort, and I can't say enough good things about this place! Our wedding took place in the gazebo by the West Shore Pavilion, and the reception was in the pavilion. It was beautiful, quiet, and quaint, just as we'd hoped, and we loved that we were able to go right from our ceremony to cocktail hour to our reception without taking transportation. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and they all thought the resort was one of the nicest places they've stayed, from the rooms to the amenities. I want to give a special thanks for Robyn Moe, our wedding coordinator, who was amazing throughout the whole process of planning our wedding. She answered all of our e-mails and phone calls very promptly, and she made sure that our day was just as we'd imagined it. I can't thank her enough for bearing with us, especially towards the end when I was getting overwhelmed and had to change some things in a matter of days. She even picked me up in a golf cart to drive me from my room to the reception tent right before the ceremony when my husband asked her if she could. Also, Justin Juntunen, who helped us book our room and block of room for our guests, was awesome and was always there to answer e-mails promptly and take care of any situations we needed help with.


I also want to thank Tauna, from the Avani Spa in The Abbey resort. She did my hair trial and my hair on they day of the wedding, and she was absolutely incredible at making my hair look just like the picture from Pinterest that I showed her. She was also very friendly, kind, and she made me feel very at ease on the day of the wedding. She is truly talented at what she does, and I wouldn't want anyone else to do my hair on the day of my wedding :).

When we decided to book our wedding at The Abbey, we were given a list of their preferred vendors, and that made it super easy to find quality vendors! We loved everything about this place. :)

We had the most amazing experience. Our wedding was amazing and everyone was kind and professional AND patient with us. Our guests loved the venue and had an amazing time exploring. I have only good things to say about The Abbey and the people working there.

We just had our wedding at The Abbey and we wouldn't have changed a thing. We first worked with Pam, then with Robyn following Pam's departure. Both were extremely professional and helpful at every stage of the process. The entire Abbey staff was very accommodating and friendly. We held our rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception all onsite which made the logistics of our weekend very easy. The resort's amenities helped to add to the fun, as many of our guests were able to enjoy the various food options, the pool, game room, gym, etc. The Abbey Resort is a beautiful venue, and we would not hesitate to recommend it to friends or family who are planning their wedding. I think Nicole and I found ourselves a special spot; one that we will continue to visit for many years to come.

We viewed the Abbey and three other nearby venues in one day and knew immediately the Abbey was a perfect choice for us. We had both our ceremony and reception at there. A huge part of why we loved this venue was Pam Linker. Throughout the entire process, she was communicative, helpful, responsive, and just all around a joy to work with. She coordinated everything so well our day went off without a hitch. The whole staff at the Abbey was really accommodating and helpful, all our guests were really impressed. And the food was absolutely delicious.

Our experience at The Abbey was an incredible one. A ton of credit goes to our wedding coordinator – Tabby Bell. The entire process from the introduction meetings till the wedding went smoothly. When we told her that we wanted to have a Mexican themed wedding Tabby seemed genuinely excited for us and had such a great attitude throughout the planning process. Tabby offered a lot of suggestions and was very much engaged which helped put us at ease and took a good amount of stress off of us.
The Abbey Resort is an incredible venue and we would do the same thing over again. My wife always wanted to have a tent wedding that incorporated the “lake” feel, so when we found The Abbey we got pretty excited. Our guests keep talking about how awesome the entire weekend was. The great thing about The Abbey is that there is so much to do to keep guests entertained. Pools, Bars in walking distance, Spa, Restaurants… The accommodations / hotel rooms were well maintained and very clean as well. For our wedding weekend there was an awesome band at the Waterfront bar (located within The Abbey) that played both nights. We closed it down both nights as well!
The food at our wedding was outstanding. Our favorite food is Mexican food, so we decided to have a Mexican buffet served at the wedding. We STILL have friends/family that tell us that it was the best food they ever had at a wedding!
Again, our event coordinator Tabby Bell is top notch. She is very knowledgeable, professional, very energetic and has a great personality so she was a pleasure to meet with.
Our hotel booking manager was Claire Roddy was great to work with as well. Everyone was so nice and accommodating at the resort.

Overall, we were above and beyond happy with our wedding week and wedding day. We are so grateful for the many employees who helped to make our day perfect. We thoroughly enjoy the beautiful and relaxing decor of the resort, the gorgeous and outstanding lush grounds and the choice of amenities (The Avani Spa, The Waterfront, 240 West, The Arcade, etc.).
We were able to have our entire wedding week held at The Abbey Resort. It was so convenient for our guests to attend all events at one location- from the rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The Harbor Gazebo, our ceremony site, was beautifully maintained. The white chairs provided were classy and appropriate. The Harbor Ball Room was beautiful! We were thrilled with the timeliness of table setup prior to our event. We were happy with quality of linens, napkins, and table placings. The layout of the room, specialty tables and bars was functional and easy to navigate.
The food was exceptional, just as we remembered from our menu tasting. The quality and choice of beverages were great. We were excited to be able to offer our family and friends favorite drink options throughout the evening.
Tabitha Bell, our event planner and manager was exceptional! Her energy, charisma and bubbly personality made every interaction a pleasure! Tabitha was professional, on the ball and offered her expert opinion that aided in creating the wedding of our dreams. She provided AMAZING recommendation for outside wedding vendors and definitely did NOT steal us wrong!
Lisa Colbert, the Avani Spa Wedding Coordinator, was wonderful to work with. She and the stylists, make up artists and nail technicians provided quality work, spending extra time on each of the members of our wedding party, making sure no one felt rushed!
Claire Roddy, our hotel booking manager, was a pleasure to work with. She was professional, kind and very accommodating.

The Abbey is AMAZING!!! Pam is a wonderful wedding coordinator that is extremely responsive and great to work with. The entire staff made our family and friends feel welcome and many people said they plan to go back to The Abbey to stay. Pam was our wedding coordinator and she was extremely responsive and helpful throughout our entire planning process. Justin helped coordinate our room block and he was great as well. I strongly recommend everyone get married at The Abbey.

The Abbey was amazing to work with! Our coordinator was Tabby and she was great! She helped us every step of the way and had awesome recommendations. The only downside was we were married on a busy weekend so when our guests arrived to check in to the hotel there was a long line and a lot did not have rooms ready until well after 4pm. This was frustrating but a minor detail. All in all the Abbey was an amazing vendor!

We had a small wedding of 57 people at the Abbey. The Porto Room was the perfect location for reception. It was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, we had to move our outside ceremony inside, but the staff did an absolutely beautiful job with the room. It was a last minute switch and the staff worked hard to make everything perfect. The reason that we picked the Abbey was because of Tabitha Bell our wedding coordinator. She was absolutely amazing. She worked hard to make sure every detail was perfect. I did not have to worry about anything the day of the wedding. The location was beautiful and our families had a great time the whole weekend.

My husband and I had our reception at the Abbey in the outdoor tent two weeks ago. The entire planning process was made a lot less stressful by our amazing planner, Tabitha. Right from the beginning, she made us feel extremely comfortable and welcome. She listened to what we wanted and helped us plan the wedding of our dreams. She was patient as we made decisions and helped us through the entire process. On our wedding night, we walked in to a tent that was perfectly set up. We put our full trust in Tabby, and she did not disappoint. Everything from the decorations to the flowers to the service and food was perfect. We could not have had a better night. Our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was, how seamlessly the staff worked, and how good the food was. Thank you Tabitha, and The Abbey Resort, for making our night absolutely perfect.

We had our small wedding here with about 70 people for the ceremony and rehearsal, coordinated with Tabitha. The ceremony was to be outside in the harbor but a late bout of rain shortly before the ceremony time made it be changed to be inside. The communication, and speed of the work that was done to transition to set up for the ceremony to the inside in what seemed like no time and with no attitude shown to us. I believe it was set up in the ballroom upstairs and was very nice with an overview of the harbor. We used the Porto for the cocktail hour(inside because of rain) and also for the reception, it may not seem like a big space but it can be used wisely and use imagination and the Porto can be decorated to look even better than it is. There was also a guy that looked to be directly assisting Tabitha, whom I didn't get a name but was also extremely helpful and made sure we were happy with the event throughout different parts of the day/night. Definitely would recommend the Abbey for a wedding! The food for the reception was all just as good as what we had at the tasting and were not mislead. Many great comments received from people regarding how great the food was and how unique the Porto space was and loved how it was decorated.

My husband and I could not have asked for a more perfect wedding day. We worked with Tabby throughout our entire wedding experience. From going to view The Abbey, booking the room, the tasting, all of the planning along the way, and on the big day. Tabby was a pleasure to work with, she is the best! We had our reception in the Harbor Ballroom. The room looked amazing and was very spacious. The windows overlooking the harbor set up a breathtaking view. Our guests were blown away. The food was also top notch. All of our guests were raving about all courses of their meals. The bartenders and waitstaff were very friendly as well. We also booked a block of rooms for our wedding. The rooms looked great, were very clean, and comfortable. The Abbey would be a perfect venue to have a wedding for any couple.

The extra effort was above expectations. The wedding reception was amazing. The food and service was excellent and every detail was professional. The staff and wedding planner was exceptional. The Abbey Resort made our daughters wedding the absolute perfect day. From working with event planner. Pam and reservations, Claire, they made this so easy. We planned for months and then when the day arrived everything was perfect. The food was good, the room looked great, the rooms were wonderful, the staff was so efficient. We hosted a 130 person wedding in the Grand Ballroom and it was PERFECT!

From the first inquisition into wedding services at The Abbey Resort I was assigned an event coordinator and she was WONDERFUL! She was always available via phone or email and always replied promptly to me! Kept me updated during the entire 12 months of wedding planning!

The venue was beautiful! The floor to ceiling windows that overlook the harbor are what really sold us on this venue!

Our event coordinator was very flexible and knowledgeable on setting up the venue for our wedding. She brought several suggestions and we compromised on the perfect set up! They brought in couches, chairs and high boy table to create a lounge atmosphere for cocktail hour & for a quieter area for people to chat during the reception. It was perfect!

The food choices were amazing! Everything came out hot and delicious! The service staff that night was impeccable!

I can't say enough about how easy The Abbey staff is to work with and how amazing their facilities are! If you love the lake and boating like my husband and I do, this venue is a must! Check out their photos and take a visit, you'll be hooked!

The Abbey Resort was an incredible place for our wedding! It was honestly the best day of our lives. Between the atmosphere and beautiful setting, you cannot go wrong if you choose to get married here. We worked with Pam Linker who was awesome about answer all of my (million) questions throughout the planning process! We are from the Chicago Suburbs and decided to make a long weekend out of our wedding which turned out great. We even fit in some time for boating and family gatherings before the wedding day. The staff at The Abbey was so flexible with all of our requests. Our ceremony was at the Harbor Gazebo over Labor Day Weekend. My husband made his entrance to the ceremony on a boat with his groomsmen and docked right up to the slips next to the gazebo. Our guests all enjoyed the cocktail hour on the Waterfront Patio with the beautiful views of the boats/harbor. We had our reception in the Harbor Ballroom which can accommodate several size weddings and was perfect for ours. The service at dinner was phenomenal and the staff was very professional. The food/beverage was through The Abbey and we received several compliments. You can truly make the wedding your own and aren't required to use specific vendors for flowers,centerpieces, photography, etc. We also did our rehearsal dinner at the Abbey in the Porto Room which worked great and was convenient for our wedding party. The resort is a nice place to have all of your family and guests because it offers them a place to stay, restaurants, bars, entertainment, etc. We have lots of family that came in from out of town so they didn't have to travel much elsewhere during their stay. Overall, we never wanted our wedding day to end and had the best time ever!

The staff at the Abbey was responsive and so easy to work with, everyone from the front desk staff to the housekeepers were phenomenal. My husband and I were so happy we chose to have our wedding and reception there. The food was incredible, everyone commented that they had not had such awesome food at a wedding before. Great value too, we were able to stay within our budget.

The Abbey was the perfect setting for our wedding! We have been engaged for ~2 years and were fortunate to work with Pam Linker as our coordinator the entire time as we planned our day. We had our ceremony at the gazebo on the lake and our reception in the tent and Pam made sure everything ran smoothly. Not only was she helpful and responsive throughout, the day went off without a hitch thanks to her expertise. The Abbey provided our guests with great service, even shuttling one of our groomsman back to the reception tent to pick up his left-behind groomsman gift late after the reception had ended. Loved The Abbey!!! From the moment we stepped foot on the property, I knew this was it! The gazebo overlooking the marina makes the perfect backdrop for the wedding ceremony and the Grand Ballroom overlooking the marina was perfect for our ceremony! So beautiful and the staff was AMAZING to work with! They really cater to your every need! So glad we went with them!

These people are wedding experts when it comes to planning out my reception. They worked out a menu to keep me within budget and accommodate my special needs. The food is amazing and not overpriced like many of the other places I looked at. And I don't feel that I sacrificed anything because this place really is beautiful. I think this was one of my best choices for my wedding and I know it because all of my family and friends had an amazing night on one of the most amazing nights of my life - THANK YOU AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU!

The Abbey was the perfect place to have a wedding reception. This was where my husband and I met. We had our wedding at St. Benedicts a block away from the Abbey so it was very convenient. Becky Dreyer took over for our original wedding planner about 2 months prior to the June 7th wedding. She was very professional and accomodating. She did an exellent job from start to finish. The staff was also very accomodating. We had our cocktail hour on the Waterfront Patio and there was terrible storm that hit just before we moved the guest to the reception area and they took our 120 guest by a shuttle so they would not get wet. The bellmen helped us pack everything up and cart it to our room That night we found 2 of our dinners left in the refrigerator with 2 salads and a lovely note from Becky. The next morning we were trying to finalize things and told the bar manager that we ordered 2 bottles of champaign and only got one. As I was leaving the front desk the bar manager rushed up to me and gave me a bottle of champaign to take with me. Everyone was so friendly and accomodating.

Such a beautiful banquet room over looking the water with a great location to access the fire pits outside which were wonderful for our fall wedding. Tabitha was amazing to work with and answered all my millions of questions. We can't wait to go back and celebrate our 1 year anniversary at the resort.

GREAT VENUE FOR OUR WEDDING IN MID APRIL.

Steph at the Abbey helped us from beginning to end make sure our wedding weekend went off without a hitch. It was VERY convenient to have food and linens in house, making it easier to not have to communicate with additional outside vendors. They provide excellent lists of recommended vendors for flowers, cakes, music, officiants, etc. We were able to have a ceremony on the harbor that flowed directly into cocktail hour and a reception in the pavilion space. We also had a beautiful welcome party on the harbor patio for all of our guests following our rehearsal dinner on Lake Geneva cruise line. The Abbey is truly a one stop shop for all wedding weekend events and guest accommodations. We cannot thank Steph enough for making our wedding dreams come true!

This part of the review is NOT reflective of Stephanie but warrants mentioning. The worst part of our wedding planning with The Abbey was setting up the room block. Amelia was our contact person and she was less than helpful and often times not responsive. She provided partial and conflicting information , and customer satisfaction was by no means at her forefront. Definitely an unnecessary headache and she did not align with the rest of our experience.

The Abbey Resort was the perfect venue for our dream wedding. We worked with The Abbey's wedding coordinator Kelly, and she was very quick to respond and a pleasure to work with. All of our guests loved the venue as much as we did:)

My husband and I hosted our ceremony and reception at The Abbey on 10/19/19. We had an absolutely amazing experience working with the wedding staff at the resort. Emily Held was our wedding sales manager and I can NOT say enough good things about working with her. She was always quick to respond, full of ideas and very organized. I highly recommend working with The Abbey if you are looking for an all inclusive venue for your wedding.

My only complaint is that we had a hard time working with the room booking team at the hotel. They were slow to respond.

The Abbey was exactly what I have always pictured as a perfect wedding venue. We had our wedding in the tented area and got so many compliments it really was everything we had hoped for and more!

We had our ceremony and reception at the Abbey on June 20th, 2015. I cannot express enough how wonderful the Abbey was!! From beginning to end, everything was perfect. The ceremony was beautiful. We followed that up with a cocktail hour and reception in the ballroom. The first time I saw the ballroom setup was after the ceremony, and I was stunned with how gorgeous it looked (without me having to lift a finger!) Tabitha was so much help that day. She did everything from coordinating the main events and vendors to helping the groom and groomsmen put their boutonnieres on! :) My husband and I planned the wedding at the Abbey from a couple hours away, which we thought would be tough. It was such a breeze planning this reception with the help of Tabitha. Some of the highlights from our day:

- Giant dance floor
- Outstanding food
- Beautiful, remodeled hotel rooms
- Late night snacks! (Nachos, pizza, and hotdogs at 11pm when everyone is drinking and needs a snack. An absolute guest favorite) - Catered mimosas and lunches to our rooms while getting ready.
- Beautiful space for a ceremony. Ours rained half way through, but it honestly didn't matter. The trees covered the guests nicely and it looked really pretty with the rain in photos.
- The ballroom is HUGE and so pretty! You can see the entire harbor and much of the lake from it.
- Wonderful bar selection, and the bartenders were so fast!

If you are even considering having your wedding here, go and speak with Tabitha Bell! She will answer any and every question you have, show you the ins and outs of the Abbey, and ease you through the entire process of planning your wedding! Like I said, ours was planned from a distance away. We used some of her suggestions for vendors (DJs, photography) and booked them without ever meeting with them prior. Her recommendations were SPOT ON, and I couldn't have picked them better myself. It was such a perfect weekend, and we highly recommend the Abbey and Tabitha!

We had our ceremony on the lawn in front of the beach and the reception was held in the Harbor ballroom. Everything was perfect. The food was amazing!

Claire was also very helpful in setting up our room block for our out of town guests. There were no issues with any of the hotel accommodations.
We even had several guests that chose to stay at The Abbey an extra night! We received several compliments from guests in regards to the venue. Many said they would be coming back on their own! That just says how much they enjoyed themselves.

Everything was absolutely beautiful and perfect, and we couldn't be more happy with our decision to have our wedding at The Abbey!

My husband and I held our wedding reception in the Porto Room at the Abbey Resort on Friday, April 22, 2016. From the first time we stepped foot in the Porto Room, we were sold on the venue! It was a perfect-sized room for our smaller wedding reception of 70 people and it had so much charm and atmosphere with the windows, chandeliers and even the over-sized red/orange chairs! With our budget, we weren't sure we would be able to afford the room; however, the Abbey worked with us extensively to make our dream a reality and moving our wedding day to Friday also helped (keep Sunday in mind as well). Those in attendance at our wedding were floored by the room itself and were very impressed by the ambiance, including the working fireplace. It made for a very intimate and inviting reception. Having the different levels within the room also helped as many of children made their way to the third floor to get their time away from adults and play games. It was a great way to keep everyone in the same room but not have everyone all in one space.

The wedding coordinator with whom we started work was Pam, but after her leave, we were directed to Robyn Moe, and let me just say, she does an amazing job!! My husband and I are more of the "do it yourself" people and were planning on setting up the room the morning of; however, Robyn took the work from us and set up the room by the directions we gave. It looked amazing!!! Even her arrangement of the cupcake table had that perfect touch of class and charm! In addition, the wait staff was very attentive, putting our meals in the warmer whenever we stepped away from the table or filling our glasses whenever they were half gone.

We would definitely recommend the Abbey Resort for a wedding ceremony or reception location. It's a great venue which we hope to come back to in the coming years to remember our special day! Thank you to the Abbey for all your work in making our day such a success!

Our wedding was perfect. it was better then we had planned.

We had a great experience working with the staff at The Abbey Resort for our wedding weekend hotel room blocks and guest gift bag deliveries! Both Claire and Tabitha were very responsive via e-mail, which was especially appreciated in the final days leading up to the event. Our check-in process at the desk was a bit on the slow side - some of our guests commented on this as well. The location of The Abbey was perfect for our rehearsal dinner at Gordy's and our ceremony at The Community Church of Fontana!

After having booked the Avani Spa at The Abbey for my bridal party hair and makeup, my mom and I went for a trial prior to the big day. Hair and makeup for 2 people took just under 4 hours - the hair stylist worked quickly, yet the makeup technician was extremely unorganized. Later that week I expressed my concerns to the spa manager, who assured me that she would urge her makeup technician to better prepare herself for the actual day-of. Things did go better, though the one makeup technician still seemed frazzled. Not the most comforting feeling on such a busy, time-sensitive day!

Looking for a venue for your wedding the Abbey is the place. We cannot say enough about the Abbey. From the moment we saw the Abbey we knew it was the right choice for us. The property is beautiful , the staff is attentive and very accommodating , exceeded all our expectations. Had our wedding in July , our ceremony at the harbor gazebo, cocktail hour on the patio and the reception in the Porto room. Our guests truly enjoyed the tasteful menu and all the amenities the resort has to offer. Though our wedding was small the staff made us feel special in every way. Our wedding coordinator was with us every step of the way, a big thank you to Pam. We have a memory that will last us a lifetime, and happy to share our experience. We now consider the resort our home away from home and cannot wait for our next visit...

We had out wedding at The Abbey this past August and overall had a great experience. We worked with Pam who was very responsive thought the planning process and was very easy to work with. We did have several mix-ups throughout the wedding weekend but nothing too big to ruin our day. They were very apologetic and were able to make up for any shortcomings. We are very glad that we chose to have our wedding at the Abbey as it has been a special place that we've visiting many times throughout our relationship. It is a beautiful setting and out guests had a wonderful time spending the weekend on Lake Geneva. Tabby the wedding coordinator is AMAZING! She is always willing to provide advice and tips to help things run smoothly and save money. You can tell she loves what she does and is great at it! The venue itself is beautiful! It has everything we wanted for our dream wedding! We can't wait to celebrate one of the biggest moments in our life here!

The Abbey Resort did a nice job for our September 2014 wedding. The wedding package was a great value including an excellent bar selection and delicious food. Our guests especially liked the Chicken Fontina entree. The chef was very accommodating to our unique menu requests and they were very flexible with substitutions in the packages. Our wedding coordinator, Tabby, was friendly and welcoming and made us feel very comfortable that our day would run smoothly. She easily handled all of our special requests and made sure our day went exactly as we envisioned. The resort grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Overall we had a great experience and would definitely recommend The Abbey.

There were a few hiccups but over all we had an amazing day! I would do it all over again if I could!

Pam was very easy to work with and very helpful. My only negative experience was with the shuttle service. They forgot to pick up my bridal party from our church which ended in us standing outside in 107 degree heat waiting for 25 minutes. It also then put us behind schedule for photography.

Had such an amazing winter wedding at the Abbey! I can't recommend the Resort enough if you're looking to have all your guests stay together and party together!! Pam Linker, the wedding coordinator at the Abbey Resort, is great to work with! My fiance and I had a million special requests, and Pam and the Abbey did an amazing job accommodating! Everyone is still raving about how much fun they had!

Leading up to the wedding, Kelly was very responsive and helpful. We met with her for a consultation and communicated with many emails. We even ended up getting an upgrade to the Harbor Ballroom, which was awesome! But it was most likely because they originally had us in a room that was not going to fit all of our guests. The service and food at the tasting was great, but the actual food tasted much different at the wedding. We also had a major issue the night of our rehearsal dinner because management lied to us about why our room still wasn't ready, so we waited until almost 5pm to get in our room and were late to our rehearsal. Overall, we had an amazing wedding and didn't let it get to us, but in the future, The Abbey can definitely do a better job of being organized, transparent and professional. Kelly was great though!

Ceremony and reception venue was absolutely perfect. Food was to die for! Open bar was great! Father of the Bride wanted his own bottles of Crown so they made sure they had 3 bottles for him hidden behind the bar the entire night. Claire Roddy who was handling our room block had phenomenal customer service, she was AMAZING. There is a lack of communication at The Abbey. For example, not passing out welcome bags to all my guests when we paid $2 a bag for 50+ bags to be handed out. The salon and spa never returned my emails and phone calls to secure a 13 person bridal party for hair and makeup. It was a money loss for them because I went elsewhere since no one returned my multiple emails and phone calls. 2 weeks leading up to the wedding was stressful because we had very little communication with the wedding office. We had a final payment due but no finalized BEO. There was lots of back and forth. Wrong pricing on multiple lines. Things that had to be changed and asked to remove multiple times. Linen pricing was first given to us at their cost then 3 weeks later told us oh sorry that’s not the right dollar amount. One of the wedding coordinators flat out said she was getting my 250 person wedding confused for someone else’s the same day. Lastly, to all my fellow Lake Geneva Brides our there getting married, please do yourselves a favor and hire a wedding day of coordinator. That was our best decision ever especially with all the minor hiccups though the wedding planning process. Overall, The Abbey was a beautiful resort and we are SO over the moon happy we got married there! We wouldn’t have picked a more perfect location. They just need to work on their communication, level of customer service, and detail. People are paying BIG dollar amounts to have their rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, morning after brunch, and bringing in a 35 room bock for Friday AND Saturday night.

My husband and I were married at The Abbey in late July. Overall, our experience had both highlights and frustrations, which I think are important for future couples to know.

We chose The Abbey because of its package options and the convenience of having everything in one place. This was a major benefit during planning and helped reduce stress. Jonathan, the coordinator, was personable and communicative throughout most of the process. We booked over a year in advance, and although communication dipped in the spring (likely due to a management transition), we were understanding. After that, things ran smoothly leading up to the big day.

The actual ceremony and reception were beautiful, and we were so happy with how everything turned out. The staff executed the wedding day well, and we were able to enjoy ourselves.

That said, we did hear from our guests about some logistical challenges:

Hotel Check-In: Some guests couldn’t check in until after 4:00, which left them scrambling with our 5:00 ceremony. Those who had planned to get ready on-site were especially affected.

Parking & Shuttles: Guests not staying at the resort had to park at a local elementary school and be shuttled in, something that was not communicated to us in advance. Had we known, we would have included it on our wedding website. Parking was very limited, and at the end of the night, shuttle delays left many guests waiting extended periods of time to get back to their cars.

The most disappointing part of our experience happened after the wedding. We were told by multiple staff members (including our Day-of Coordinator from Graceful Events) that we could safely leave our items on a designated table overnight and collect them in the morning. Unfortunately, this did not happen.

When we returned, the table had been cleared, and our vases and bathroom caddies were missing. Boxes we had left to pack the vases were untouched, but the items themselves were gone. I emailed Jonathan and our Day-of Coordinator immediately, but did not receive a reply until four days later. We were told there had been a miscommunication with the striking team, and that the items had been moved to the service entrance under the assumption vendors would collect them. We were also told our bathroom caddies had been found.

Excited, we made the two-hour drive back after our honeymoon to pick everything up. When we arrived, only our bud vases and a few small items were located—along with several items that did not belong to us. The bathroom caddies were nowhere to be found. Neither Jonathan nor the events manager were on-site, but the wonderful lady at the front desk gave the resort manager's contact info to leave a message. I later spoke with Tim Somerville, the resort manager, who assured me someone from his team would follow up. Unfortunately, no one ever did. I also sent a follow-up email to Jonathan and never received a response.

While the wedding day itself was wonderful, the post-event experience left us deeply disappointed. Once the event was over and payment was collected, communication and customer service dropped off completely.

Before & During the Wedding: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5) – Great packages, convenience, and overall a smooth event.

After the Wedding: ⭐ (1/5) – Very poor communication and follow-through, unresolved issues with missing items.

We are grateful for the memories made at The Abbey, but we hope management addresses these issues so future couples do not have the same post-wedding frustrations.

The Abbey is a cute resort on the other side of Lake Geneva. We hosted our wedding here in November and I was fairly disappointed with the service we received on that day and the months leading up to it. We booked our wedding knowing we would be inviting 80 people which is what we were told the room would hold. Kelly then later told us that two tables would have to be on the upper level because we couldn't fit 8 tables on the main level. Of course we panicked and were so confused why someone wouldn't mention this to us. We then looked at the room and confronted her saying we think we could fit 8 tables - which we ended up doing - and it was totally fine. I'm not sure if she didn't know the room very well or what, but the panic was totally avoidable.

At least 20 of our friends and family members had issues booking their rooms. Long wait times, transferred back and forth, etc. I have no clue what the heck was going on or where the disconnect was but I have never seen a hotel that is so difficult to book!

The day of our wedding myself as well as my husband were both in our banquet room (Porto Room) for hours before our ceremony and getting ready because it was set up incorrectly, there were dirty linens, etc.

Our bar was in the wrong place (my husband ended up moving it himself!!!) and our dance floor was half the size it was supposed to be. They ended up rebuilding it but the dance floor literally was coming apart as our guests danced all night....terrible. Our coordinator, Kelly, had promised me she would take care of everything and set up the tables with our candles but she wasn't there so I did them myself. In my opinion - not something a bride should be doing on her wedding day! I briefly saw her that morning and had asked for our baskets of blankets as well as the cute sign I made about them (since we were having an outdoor wedding and it was unseasonably cold) be placed INSIDE on a table by the door. She did not listen - the blankets were outside (so they were cold upon guests taking them) and the sign was wedged in between the two baskets so no one even saw it. I also had asked for certain candle holders to be on our cocktail tables. When I walked into cocktail hour - there was nothing....my mother in law scrambled to bring the vases of flowers from the edge of the ceremony rows inside to put them on the bare tables.

When our reception ended we had asked if we needed to take our stuff with us that night or could grab it in the morning. They said they would put it on the side of the room for us. At 9:30AM the next morning we went to gather our things and many things were missing...string lights that my mother used for our sweet table and many votives that were on the table. I brought these concerns up and Kelly has finally ordered them to be replaced 2 weeks and many emails later. I'm not sure if the wait staff took them, broke them, etc....but how unprofessional for your things to go missing within 10 hours of you leaving the room.

I also emailed Dan Dolan, the director of sales and marketing at the abbey, to express my concerns. It has been eight days with absolutely zero response.

I am beyond frustrated with the service we received and the fact that my husband barely had time to breathe and get ready with his groomsmen the day of our wedding because of the lack of concern that took place by Abbey staff.

We moved our wedding ceremony from the Gazebo to the patio and I was very happy it worked out that way and they accommodated that request. They rolled out some heaters and we had the fire pit going, since it was 30 degrees! I will say our wedding food was great - we thought so and our guests thought so. The Porto Room was also a very cute venue for our smaller wedding and the resort within itself allowed for us to host a rehearsal dinner, have drinks, a reception, a ceremony, and sleep, all without leaving the area - which was a huge plus.

We held our August 2015 wedding ceremony and cocktail reception at The Abbey Resort. The Abbey is in a stunning location - and the coordinator Tabby Bell was great to work with. Plus, we were able to get a really fantastic room block that allowed a ton of our friends and family to stay at the Abbey. By all accounts our guests had a good time staying there (great pools for kids, great restaurants, fun bars for after parties). But the big issue was how many other weddings were booked on the same Saturday. We booked first, with our ceremony at 3:30. But the Abbey then booked a second ceremony in the same location at 4:30 and a third one at 5:30. So that is 3 wedding ceremonies in the same location in 2 hours. We were really disappointed when we learned this. We met with the director of events to discuss our concern and he offered very little help. He explained that since the Abbey has a short wedding season (which is debatable), their goal is to book as many weddings as possible each day. The sacrifice in event quality truly did not seem to be a concern of the Resort, they seemed to care only about profit. We ended up moving our ceremony until 3:00pm to accommodate the Abbey, but it still felt like they were running a bit of a wedding sweatshop there.

Overall, I think our guests thought the ceremony and cocktail reception were nice. It really is beautiful there. But other brides should be very aware that the Abbey will not hesitate to book 3 or 4 or 5 weddings on a single summer Saturday. And if you are spending less at the Abbey than these other weddings are, your event will not be a priority. Maybe some brides don't care if they see at least 2 other brides on their wedding day (including a bridal party taking photos near by while your ceremony is going on - which happened to us and made me quite sad). But brides should know that is how things are run at the Abbey in the summer.

My husband and I had our reception at the Abbey Resort in Fontana. Sadly, we experienced many problems throughout planning, on our wedding night, and even after the event was done.
We had many issues with hotel rooms leading up to our wedding. Our contract stated that the 2 night minimum would be waived. As guests called to reserve their rooms, they were told they need to book 2 nights. We had many upset guests call us feeling confused. My husband had to call the hotel many times to explain what our contract stated. It seemed that no one at the front desk was on the same page, and all of our guests were being told different information. Since most of our guests were traveling from out of town, the room situation really was a nightmare.
A few weeks before our wedding, my husband and I were informed that we had an outstanding balance. We were certain that we had fully paid off the wedding. We had to contact our banks/credit cards to receive statements to prove that we, in fact, had paid in full! The hotel received these payments but had no records to show we had paid. Just another nightmare to go through before the wedding. Thank goodness we had the documents. On our wedding night, we were served the wrong meal at our reception. Our contract stated we would receive a filet and bone in french chicken. We also paid to have loaded baked potatoes with cheddar and bacon. The meal we had at our tasting was beautiful and delicious, however, this was not the meal we received on our wedding night. We received a filet that did not have the bernaise sauce,a small chicken breast, and a baked potato that was pitiful to the one we were presented at our tasting. Be aware that the food at the tasting may not be the food you will receive. After the wedding we spent months arguing with the Abbey about hotel room charges and trying to get money back for the breech of contract. Overall, it saddens me that our experience with the Abbey was not what we hoped for.

My husband and I were seriously debating pulling our wedding from The Abbey two months out from our wedding date because we were so frustrated with the level of service (or lack there of) we were receiving. I won't go into all the details of ways we were disappointed, but I will say that after we were informed that the resort sold out of rooms without giving us any sort of notice and before our families and most of the wedding part booked their rooms, my mother-in-law was directly told that "This is The Abbey. We don't have the time to keep track of every wedding." Which I believe really sums everything up well. The communication is seriously lacking, and they hold themselves in such a high regard because "they are The Abbey" that they provide less than bare minimum service for their couples. If you do hold a wedding here, I 100% recommend hiring an outside day of coordinator who can vouch for you and your partner and make sure everything runs smoothly.

We had our wedding reception at The Abbey in July 2018. The actual wedding was beautiful, the food was great, beautiful location and we had a great time. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about the planning process leading up to the wedding and the room reservation process my guests experienced. We were not put at ease during the planning process and experienced many customer service issues leading up to the wedding and even upon arriving. We had three different Wedding Sales Managers that we worked with throughout the planning process and two different Room Reservation Managers. Had we known there was going to be that much turnover in the staff we were working with I don’t know that we would have held our wedding there. One of the Wedding Sales Managers we had did not tell us our cocktail hour was not going to be able to be held outside when we changed the time slightly. Luckily we learned of this before the day of when we switched to a new Sales Manager. Our guests had a lot of difficulty reserving rooms as it was difficult to get ahold of anyone on the reservation line and then no one would ever return their calls. For the amount of money we were spending we were very disappointed in the service we received and that our guests experienced. We held our ceremony at another local outdoor venue that had more privacy and I’m wishing we would have just done the whole reception there as the sales team there made the process stress-free, unlike at The Abbey. Hire a Day Of Coordinator, something we did not do and wish I would have, as the groom and maid of honor had to set up the decorations at the reception hall the morning of the wedding because our Wedding Sales Manager was too busy that morning giving tours. The other disappointing thing is that I completed a survey two months ago where I expressed our dissatisfaction and still no one has reached out to me...

Contract was signed and contact person made everything seem easy and were very accommodating to my wishes. Wedding day came and it was nothing that was promised or discussed. Felt as though my wedding was smaller that we didn't matter because we were not spending 20grand on our wedding while the chain of weddings going on that day received full attention and we were left without any of our promised details. Went to go to our honeymoon room and walked in to a dirty unkept room with no amenity package that we were told would be provided. Towels all over the floor and bed unmade really!? Thanks abbey
