I had no idea when I offered my daughter to help her with her wedding what I was really getting into.
Thankfully, Lake Lure showed up as an option, and boy was this the best decision we made.
If you are looking for amazing views of the mountain and a lake combined, Lake Lure is the place.
If you are looking for a place that is sober, elegant and old. Lake Lure is the perfect place to be. Not only did it host a former president but the structure and decoration resembles that of an old mansion or Hotel of the 20th century. You will feel as if you had stepped back in time.
I had no idea what a wedding planner really needed to do. So when I said: "I can do that" I did not know what I was saying. But Christopher, the events manager and the whole personnel at the Inn guided me and my daughter, in order to have the best wedding and family experience ever.
The whole family was simply enchanted by the place and the surroundings and with its history as well. Whether you are looking for a place, Biltmore looking like or, if you are looking to get the "Dirty Dancing/ Patrick Swayze/ Jennifer Grey" vibes. Lake Lure Inn and Spa has it.
So if you are looking into Lake Lure for a wedding venue you will love it forever.

We cannot recommend the 1927 Lake Lure Inn enough for a wedding venue! From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to ensure our day was perfect. They were welcoming, kind, and incredibly attentive, making the entire process smooth and stress-free. They helped us create the wedding reception of our dreams, and everything turned out even better than we imagined. The food was absolutely amazing—our guests couldn’t stop raving about it! Every detail was thoughtfully handled, and the historic charm of the venue added such a special touch to our celebration. If you’re looking for a stunning location with exceptional service, the 1927 Lake Lure Inn is the perfect choice. We are so grateful for the memories they helped us create! -

Dream Wedding at The 1927 LLI!!
We loved having our ceremony and reception at The 1927 Lake Lure Inn and can't recommend it enough!! We fell in love with the beautiful and romantic setting as soon as we arrived for our first site visit. We live in NYC and have family and friends spread out across the Midwest and East Coast, and for several reasons decided to have a "destination" wedding. We wanted to find somewhere all of our guests could stay and have a fun and relaxing weekend getaway without totally breaking the bank. This fit the bill (literally and figuratively) and the actual event turned out even better than we could have ever dreamed. Patrick gave us our first tour and became our main point of contact throughout the entire process. Thank goodness for Patrick - I can't say enough good things about him!! He was such a joy to work with throughout -- especially considering we were dealing with all of the unknowns around covid. Our original date was in May and we moved it to August - even then we were very uncertain whether we would be able to have the wedding until a few weeks before. Once we decided to move forward our guest list went from 120 people to 40 people. Patrick was so helpful and flexible throughout, which reduced the stress and worry! While we are talking about Patrick, I should also mention that all of our guests and vendors raved about him. From coordinating with our vendors to making sure our guests were happy with their rooms, Patrick was on it! I could go on, but the bottom line is from food and accommodations, to the staff and setting, everything was perfect for us and our guests. We can't wait to return and celebrate anniversaries! -

Looking for a wedding venue is by far one of the most stressful aspects of planning a wedding and we toured several before we finally decided to visit the 1927 Lake Lure Inn & Spa. From the moment we walked in the door, we knew we had discovered something special. After taking a tour of the Inn we sat down with Patrick to go through how we envisioned our big day. Patrick put together a detailed proposal outlining everything for us and then arranged for us to come back a week later to tour Haynes Hill Estate. We had absolutely no idea how breath taking this spot was. Nestled in the trees looking over the Inn and Lake Lure with a view all the way up the gorge we had found our dream ceremony location. Patrick was by our side throughout the entire planning process and ensured every detail was perfect. He’s like a magician - you say his name or even think about him and he appears, usually with the perfect solution, and always with a little hop and big smile! Patrick, Alyssa, Aaron, Margaret (who also made our delicious wedding cake) and their team are without a doubt one of the most talented in the business. The food was delicious, the venue was beautiful, the staff was friendly and welcoming; even the owners of the Inn & Estate stepped in to assist on our wedding day when a random afternoon shower required us to move all our guests up to their patio until the rain passed. They were out there with the rest of the team wiping down seats and getting things cleaned up so we could proceed with our ceremony. We could not have asked for more from this team and could not imagine a more perfect day! Thank you to our new Lake Lure family, we can’t wait to visit with you again soon! -

Patrick went above and beyond to ensure our day was perfect! I was so stressed before my meeting with him, but quickly after I was feeling confident our day would be amazing. This venue provides so many great services and is truly all inclusive at a very reasonable price. They are a class act. Let me tell you, the food was amazing. Allyssa was a joy to work with throughout; very accommodating and quick to reply to all our questions. The venue was perfect for our rehearsal dinner, and everything was handled flawlessly. So happy we decided to go with the lake lure inn and spa. We had our wedding at the Lake Side gazebo and it was absolutely beautiful. Allyssa was exceptional and made us feel comfortable through the entire process. It even rained on our wedding day and she still made sure things ran smoothly . She was always reachable and always emailed us back very timely. Mostly everything is included within their package, except for the photographer and DJ, which also helped make the process very easy. We would certainly recommend this venue to anyone that asked and want to again thank you Allyssa- you helped us make a day we will never forget! -

Wow! Gorgeous venue, excellent customer service from start to finish. And Patrick! He is the best in the industry. He made our event magical. He was there with us from start to finish. He goes above and beyond. I don't have enough words to adequately explain the help and attention to details he offers the bride and groom. My guests said it was the best wedding they ever attended. The food was delicious!! Seriously. And the whole event ran so smoothly. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Apart from the absolutely wonderful customer service - you get delicious wedding food, gorgeous views from every angle and personal attention!! Thank you for a wonderful wedding weekend. And hire the 1927 Lake Lure Inn - Asap- ask for Patrick. -

Absolutely amazing...
You know the fairy tale wedding? Where nothing goes wrong? The music is on cue, the weather is gorgeous, the guests are having a blast dancing? That was our wedding.
My husband, his family, and part of my family have been in the wedding industry for over 20 years. They have extremely high expectations. When we received personal phone calls from ALL of them a week later gloating how our wedding was one of the best weddings they have EVER seen, we had to give credit where credit is due - to Lake Lure Inn and its incredibly amazing staff.
Our day-of planner, Patrick, thought of everything and then some. Our (March) wedding was on a chilly, overcast day - a perfect day for me and my husband, though the guests were a little weary. We wanted our wedding outside in the gazebo, no matter what. It was one of the first places we both fell in love with. (He's a water boy and I'm a mountain girl, so Lake Lure was our ultimate happy place.) Last minute, we decided to bring tons of blankets from home for guests. Patrick made sure the blankets were available, and dragged back-and-forth large propane heaters from the ceremony site to the reception site to keep guests warm. To combat the potential rain, Patrick secured and set up quite a few large tents to cover primary areas (again, he was 5 steps ahead of us). All our vendors were extremely well coordinated. I literally had no worries the day of our wedding. I felt completely at ease and enjoyed the spa with my mother and maid of honor.
Our ceremony went perfectly. Everyone loved the trolley ride to the park. The flowers were arranged perfectly, and a path outlined by white rose petals, lanterns, and logs flowed seamlessly to the aisle. When it was time for photos (between ceremony and reception while guests enjoyed cocktail hour), Patrick ensured the guests were entertained, drinks were flowing, and hors d'oevres were served in plenty.
Our reception went perfectly as well! Tables lined with linens, plates, silverware, and glasses (all provided by the inn!) and comfortably sat all our guests. Music played from the Veranda as lights filled the sky. The food was marvelous, and that's coming from the professional chefs in our family. We loved having access to the bar to allow guests other drink options. The night was filled with dancing, love, and wonder, all the while the staff of Lake Lure Inn were working behind the scenes to makes sure everything ran smoothly. They even accommodated an impromptu last-minute song sang by my husband before our sparkler exit.
We had some... unusual components to our wedding. Firstly, all of our guests were from out of town and all of them stayed at the inn (several bringing their pet dogs with them). Many came in Friday and stayed through Sunday. The staff did an excellent job catering to all the needs of our 75 guests during all three days. They were very accepting of pets inside the inn (even our 130lb Rottwieler/German Shepherd). We also had some unusual privacy requirements. I had bridesmen instead of bridesmaids. Lake Lure was accommodating of our privacy needs, and found a space for everyone to get ready. Due to a last-minute snag, our cake covered in cream cheese butter cream frosting arrived early Saturday morning. Patrick found us room in their walk-in cooler for the cake, and beautifully set the cake up once it was time. I told Patrick the day of our wedding my husband and I had written personalized letters to everyone of our guests. We needed the letters positioned to where they were not noticeable to the guests, but where we could easily access the letters after we ate - he hid them perfectly.
The staff was so considerate during our entire event. When we arrived, our plates had been filled with food so we would not have to wait in the (buffet) line. The room in our fridge was stacked from top to bottom with plates of leftovers (which my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed over the remainder of our stay).
Overall, this by far one of the best venues to book a wedding. Lake Lure Inn gave us our fairy tale wedding and there is not a thing we would change. -

I fell in love with this place as soon as I went for a tour. It was the perfect setting for our wedding - mountains, lake, a romantic venue, and bonus- dog friendly! But mostly, I can't speak more highly of the people who work here. They were unbelievably nice and patient with not only me, but my entire wedding guest list. The food was delicious ALL weekend--seriously SO GOOD! I worked directly with Allyssa, and she was AMAZING. She was so easy to work with and our weekend was completed on schedule! Fantastic venue! -

I do not know where to start. My wife and I were married at the 1927 Lake Lure Inn about a week and a half ago. I should start at the beginning. Allyssa is amazing! We couldn't have asked for anyone better! She was always available to answer any question we had. Our guest count literally doubled and she handled it like it was no big deal. She was a lot of fun during our tasting and planning session and was also very knowledgeable about what would be good for our wedding. Now the wedding itself was amazing! Every single person on the staff was incredibly nice, mind blowing nice! They were always there to help and always kept my drink full! They helped us with whatever setting up we had and requests on the day of the wedding. The hotel itself is really great and only adds to however you decide to decorate. The rooms are also clean and nicely decorated. All of our guests that stayed the night loved it! We couldn't have asked for one single thing different or better. Everything was absolutely perfect! -
Whitney Sent on 09/14/2018If you are thinking about having your wedding at the 1927 Lake Lure Inn & Spa, do it. I highly recommend. I just don't have the words to express how wonderful everything was-- all thanks to Allyssa, the events manager, and the entire wonderful staff at the Inn. Allyssa is very responsive, efficient and personable; she somehow manages to seem easy going when I know she is working her tail off. She was there for me anytime I had questions, needed guidance, needed reassurance, needed to vent, etc. We started the weekend with a small rehearsal dinner by the lake followed by a bonfire with s'mores open to all who made a weekend out of the affair. Right away, Vinny, one of the bartenders, greeted me with a Miller Lite (my drink of choice)-- good prep work Allyssa! This set the tone for the entire weekend. I know there were so many parts in motion, but this crew knows their business and works together to make it seamless. The ceremony was at the park around the corner with the gazebo and the trolley shuttled everyone back and forth in style. Anything we wanted, they made it happen. My hair and make-up plan fell through at the last minute and Britney at Irongate Spa was at the ready and fantastic. Seriously-- Britney used some industrial strength make-up that withstood the heat, tears and lots of sweat. Because the Inn was able to host the rehearsal dinner, after party gatherings at The Moose and Goose, spa on site, restaurant on site, it was a constant interaction with my guests and it was perfect. All of our friends and family really had a great time and I think all will remember it as a wonderful, fun event full of love. It was perfect and exactly what I wanted. Karen Sent on 09/08/2018Lake Lure Inn and Spa was a dream come true! It's been four months since our wedding and our guests are still talking about it! The staff was incredibly friendly and cared about us and our guests. It was a beautiful place for our wedding. The view was breath taking everywhere. It's a wonderful little cove completely surrounded by mountains. I'd reccomend it to everyone! They were great with our budget too! And they let us completely customize our experience there.

If you are looking for a place that pretty much does everything at the location for one custom price that includes food, linens, venue space, transportation, bar tending, and so on, then you have found your venue. Plus, the food was amazing. I have never been to a wedding where the food was actually really, really good! So glad it was my own, You are crazy if you think you can find a better place than the Inn to get married especially for the price! -

Maggie Sent on 10/26/2016We hosted our destination wedding weekend at the 1927 Lake Lure Inn and could not be happier with the outcome. We intended to host a welcome dinner with bonfire on the beach Friday night. Allyssa, our coordinator from the Inn called me that afternoon to let me know that it was wet at the pavilion but agreed to try to make things work when I wanted to still have the event outside. Unfortunately the rain picked up and showed no signs of stopping. The inn accommodated our group in Roosevelt hall and set up an indoors smores bar! It wasn't the event I originally pictured, but the team at the inn made the event a success. On Saturday we had fantastic weather for our outdoor ceremony. I had approached the inn with the crazy idea of a spiral ceremony seating. They really made an effort to make the set up perfect measuring the spiral from the center. I cannot thank them enough as it was exactly as I pictured it. Our dinner was perfect and staff was terrific. I cannot point out enough how great it was to work with Allyssa for menus and room layouts, she listened to me and made great suggestions, the event wouldn't have been the same without her. We treated our guests to the inns Sunday Brunch. Allyssa set our group up with some large tables on the terrace which was perfect for us to give our guests a final goodbye before their journey home. The food for Sunday brunch was incredible as it always is. Overall we had an absolutely incredible weekend at the Inn and we can't wait to go back and visit! -

Leandra Sent on 11/18/2013First, Patrick was amazing. He took care of so many details - way more than I was expecting. He was flexible with meeting with us, which was important given we were planning the wedding from other states and were not physically present for long leading up to the wedding. He handled the many personalities of those involved with ease and was always thinking a few steps ahead. He even drove up to the Overlook Cabin to grab decorations and favors so me and my bridesmaids didn't have to carry them down to the main inn.
As for the venue itself, it was amazing. The scenery is awesome and all the little details of the inn make it really unique and special. Everything is elegant and more on the antique side. Everyone working there was super helpful and polite. If you're looking for somewhere with character and charm, this is it. We had our rehearsal dinner on the beach, which included using the volleyball net for some beach volleyball and we were able to bring corn hole sets and other games to make it more fun. Patrick helped set up our iPhone to a portable speaker for music and the cookout dinner was delicious. The reception was perfect, the service professional, and everything was about making our day special. The area is so secluded we really felt like we had the town to ourselves (even though there were two other weddings that weekend, we never noticed). My only advice is to make sure to get dinner early if you're staying longer than just the wedding, kitchens in the local restaurants usually close at 9 so you'll be hard pressed to find food if you wait until 8:30 or 9 to go looking. -

Dawn Sent on 11/04/2012Paula Benson and the Staff of the 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa helped make my wedding weekend run incredibly smooth and my guests felt like royalty in their Inn. The quality of service was way above and beyond anything that was expected or hoped for. From the wait staff that we knew by the end of the weekend, to the always smiling and helpful front desk, the Lake Lure Inn really knows how to treat their guests. My wedding guests had a great experience and so did we! Paula worked very well with my other vendors (English Cottage, Corey Cagle, Crown Alley, Johnny and the Elite Band) and took all the "stress" creating situations off my plate and out of my sight!! She was a remarkable event manager!
We had a plated dinner - the food was delicious (filet, salmon and chicken) and came in in such a smooth and orderly fashion. Paula worked great with my friend who provided the dessert (apple pies - yum!) and the bartenders were quick and never had a long line. I wasn't around for the cocktail hour, but I heard it was delicious and again the bartenders were impressive. Paula and her staff had some left over finger food and pie waiting for us in our room after the party along with our bed turned down - they were so incredibly detail-oriented!! Couldn't be happier and I can't wait to go back to our wedding site for stays in the future! -

Morgan Sent on 05/09/2012We had an amazing wedding at the Lake Lure Inn in April! My guests keep talking about how wonderful and beautiful the whole weekend was. Of course the mountains and lake at the Gazebo were an incredible site, but the Inn has this amazing charm to it. It's beautiful and clean and a bit mysterious, too! We wanted a vintage feel to our wedding, and Lake Lure Inn was perfect for that. We worked with Patrick and he was amazing! He was so organized and you can tell how experienced and talented he is and how much he enjoys his job. His positive and easygoing attitude made him easy to work with. We asked him probably a million questions and they were flexible with us on changing things last minute. He even thought of things that we didn't. For example, when we got to our room after the celebration, they had packaged food and cake for us in case we were hungry (and we were!). The whole staff at the Inn were so friendly and always incredibly helpful. They really make you feel special and that the day is all abut you. They went out of their way to help us and make the day go smoothly. The food was DELICIOUS!! Between the rehearsal dinner and the reception, my guests raved about the food! The Inn offers a lot of choices as "extras" to really personalize your wedding and work with you to make it the best day of your life. It was really great because we got to combine a lot of services together and it made wedding planning so much easier. For everything that you get, the Inn is extremely affordable. I loved that they offered the bonfire on the beach before the wedding because we were able to spend time with guests when we weren't able to spend much time with them at the reception. It was all very personal. They really think of everything. The day-of was incredible - I never felt stressed or worried because I knew Patrick had taken care of everything. I'm still amazed at how smooth everything went. Lake Lure Inn truly exceeded my expectations and made our dreams come true. Our wedding was perfect and we are so happy and grateful for everything the Inn did for us. I would definitely recommend this venue and catering to anyone looking for a venue. We can't wait to come back and spend our anniversary at Lake Lure Inn!!
