I got married in the perfect dress from Tang’s (Maggie Sottero Keris)! I booked a session to pick out my dress and had Lisa’s phenomenal expertise to help guide my decision. All of my close friends/family were able to sit and even pick out a selection of dresses to try. I didn’t feel rushed or pressured into finding a dress. I had a couple altering sessions with Tang before the wedding day, and my dress turned out perfect! I also got to choose my hair piece from their selection. 2 months after, I brought my dress back to be cut short into an anniversary dress and I still love it! -

Every single person I worked with at Tang's was fantastic. From my dress shopping appointment to my alterations, everyone was so helpful, caring, and understood what the vision was/what I wanted and supported me along the way. It was so easy to work with them. I got a great deal on my dress and it didn't need a ton of alterations, they were honest in what needed to be done to tweak what was actually needed/necessary. Everyone there is so friendly as well. If anyone is looking for their wedding dress in Northern Virginia Tang's is your must go to destination! I love their top notch tailoring as well, a huge reason why I also looked into/ended up working with them. -

Her calm confidence, deep expertise, and reverence for couture fabric made me instantly trust that my dress was in the best possible hands. She understands the science and engineering behind couture construction in a way that is rare—every suggestion she made came from knowledge, intention, and artistry.
The entire experience was flawless. Communication was always clear and timely, I received a detailed quote upfront, and the fitting schedule was crafted perfectly so I never felt rushed or anxious ahead of the wedding. I found Tang's after researching places that offer wedding dress alterations and dress cleaning/ preservation post wedding. They had so many good reviews, and Tang's history of working in the industry made me feel comfortable and confident selecting them.
Our initial consultation, we discussed hemming my wedding dress and letting out the fabric in some areas. Thanks to a wedding diet and workout routine, I only had to have the dress hemmed and a bustle added. Tang took a video of how to bustle the dress, which was very helpful for my bridesmaids because of how the buttons laid.
Tang's stays pretty busy, so I would suggest reaching out to them in advance to secure any and all appointments you need. I was very happy with their work and will be bringing my dress back for cleaning and preservation. -

Tang is a true pro and very knowledgeable about her craft. I got estimates at a couple other seamstress shops and they weren't able to solve the problems I had ( for example, the cups were too big and other shops wouldn't make the cup smaller, they just wanted to stuff them which looked weird and threw the proportions off) so they were planning to do some workarounds that would be more expensive and didn't look natural, which is what I wanted.
Tang did a great job, my dress fit me like a glove. And, she is funny which made the appointments fun :) She also took me in a couple weeks before my wedding when I dropped a bunch of weight due to stress and did some emergency alterations. IMO Tang is one of the most affordable and the most knowledgeable seamstresses in the DMV. -

Wedding Dress success and so much more!
I had heard about Tangs from my hair stylist. I tried dresses on at their showroom. It was so cute and the service was phenomenal. I had already had a dress in mind and they did their best to try and show me close options. In the end I didn’t get a dress from their showroom but the woman who helped me gave me so many tips and was so supportive of the dress that I ended up getting somewhere else. I had all of my alterations done at Tangs. And I didn’t know my dress could look better! The communication was top notch and the honesty was what every bride needs and wants. I even had help with my earrings, shoes and nails. I left for my wedding feeling like I had everything I’d dreamed of for my bridal look. -

Tang's was the only place recommended to me for wedding dress alterations and after going, I can see why! From booking the fitting appointments to the fittings themselves, everything was so easy, organized, and professional. They really work their magic and make you feel beautiful! Of all the wedding to-do's I was most nervous to have my wedding dress fitted, but they made me feel so beautiful and really calmed by nerves. My dress fit like an absolute glove and the bustle they put in was amazing! The bustle looked like it was always meant to be there and it was so easy for my maid of honor to do. They even made an instruction video of how to bustle my dress for my maid of honor who lives across the county! Tang's is the best place to have your wedding dress altered, hands down! -

Getting my dress altered at Tang's is what transformed my dress from just a beautiful dress I bought to MY wedding dress. It fit me so perfectly, accentuated the right parts of my body and helped enhance my shape. I needed the top taken in, the hem taken up, a bustle and straps added and the front lined. It was so easy to make an appointment and set the pick up day. I dropped it off on January 8th and picked it up February 8th (my wedding was 2/23). I 100% recommend Tang's Alterations. BRIDES! LOOK NO FURTHER! This is the best place to get all your wedding dress alterations taken care of. With my dress not only being expensive but dear to my heart, I was really stressing to find someone I could trust to see my vision for the dress perfectly as well as do a fantastic job. Tang’s Bridal did just that! They got me in as quickly as possible and they made everything so easy. They were fast, professional and extremely talented in their work. It’s a charming little spot with a staff that is genuine and kind. You can really tell they love what they do! As soon as I dropped off my dress all my stress melted away. I felt like my wedding dress and I were in great hands throughout my alterations process with Tangs! They were timely and efficient, and Tang made me feel beautiful and comfortable in my dress. I appreciated her filming a bustle tutorial since my Maid of Honor and bridesmaids all lived out of town. I plan to bring my dress here for cleaning as well!

Tang's is Amazing!
I got recommended to Tang's from my Bridal salon Brooke's Bridal in Fairfax for my wedding dress alterations. The team at Tang's were amazing! I sent a request in to schedule my fitting and within an hour I got a call to set up my appointment! My dress only needed a hem and to take in the shoulders a bit, so it wasn't major alterations, but the team at tangs did it so quickly! They also added my bustle and were able to line it up with the lace on my gown so you couldn't notice it was even there! When I went to pick up my dress, they took a detailed video on how to bustle the dress so I could show my mom who was unable to make the appointment. They also had creative saying to help you remember how to do certain things in your dress that made it easy to remember with all the craziness of the big day. They also do dress cleaning and preservation which I just got my dress back from and it look like brand new!
I highly recommend Tang's to any Bride! -

Amazing alterations!
I went to Tang's Bridal for my wedding dress alterations, and they did a fabulous job. While I didn't have a lot of adjustments, I did need a belt sewn in, the bust tightened and I wanted a large bow added to the back of my dress. I showed the seamstress a picture of the bow and within a minute she made a tissue paper mock version to show what it would look like in the fabric. Additionally, she showed me how to properly move in the dress AND made a bustle that defied the laws of physics. See the length of the train in the photo, she made it all magical fold on top of each other so I was easily able to dance (see second picture).
Thank Tang's Bridal for making me feel gorgeous and confident on my special day. -

Beautiful Work!
I purchased a Maggie Sotero wedding dress from Tangs. They did an excellent job, helping me find a dress within my budget in a style that I liked. My family have been loyal customers for years, and in the last year we had several weddings that we needed our dresses altered. Tang and her team did an excellent job, altering my dress, and adding in an extra piece so that the dress was exactly how I dreamed. They also steamed my veil for a low price, and everything was beautiful. I highly highly recommend Tang’s Bridal! -

Tang and her team were wonderful to work with! She was always so upbeat and they did an amazing job with the alterations of my vintage wedding dress, worn by my mother in 1979 and my grandmother in 1956.
The dress was a challenge to work with as the delicate sateen needed a thorough cleaning and the lace needed extensive reconstruction. She even helped me make it more modern by changing the waistline, adding a tulle petticoat, and enabling the sleeves to be removed for the dancing portion of the evening.
It turned out beautifully and I received so many compliments on it, before people even knew it had such sentimental value to me. Wearing that dress on my wedding day was a dream come true, as I'd always wanted to wear it since I was a little girl.
Overall, I had a fantastic experience with Tang's and would absolutely recommend them to any bride that needs help with alterations on arguably the most important dress of their life! -

Go To Tang's!!!
I had an amazing experience getting my wedding dress alterations done at Tang's! I went in for hemming, adding a bustle, and removing layers of crinoline, but one of the main things I wanted done was adding detachable sleeves to wear during my ceremony and pictures, then take off during my reception. I came in to my first fitting with a few inspiration pictures in the ballpark of what I was looking for and Tang immediately understood how I wanted them to look. They turned out absolutely perfect, to include adding buttons on the sleeve cuffs that matched the back of my dress. I also ended up having to do my final fitting on my own, so she took an instructional video of doing the bustle that was perfect for sharing with my mom and MOH. Timing of the alterations was great too - my first appt. was 11/1/22 and final pick up was 12/8/22 for my New Year's Eve wedding. Dress was from Ava Laurenne in Fredericksburg. Highly recommend Tang's!! -

Amazing Experience
Tang’s Bridal was amazing through every step of the process! Sandy made finding my dream dress a breeze by choosing styles that flattered my figure and made me feel beautiful! She was not pushy and very reassuring through every step of the process. When my dress came in, Tang made alterations easy and fun. She was able to execute my vision and my dress turned out stunning. She even helped pair a veil and headpiece. She was thorough and gave me the time and attention I needed, and I was never rushed. I was strapped for time as my original seamstress canceled on me within one month of my wedding! Tang's fit me in with super short notice (within 24 hours) for some minor alterations (hemming, adding a belt, and tacking the lining of my gown to the outside of the lace). They also steamed my cathedral length veil. Tang was attentive, so helpful (suggesting options for me), and the turnaround was QUICK. Don't be like me and wait til the last minute, they book up quickly. But there is NO other place I would ever go for wedding related alterations. Tang's is the BEST! -

I brought my wedding dress to Tang to see if we could spice it up a bit because I was starting to fall out of love with my dress. Because of COVID we had to postpone our wedding so I spent a year with the dress while I kept seeing other dresses I liked better. But in order to save money I decided to see if Tang could help me give my dress the sexy touch I was looking for. We brought down the neckline for a longer plunge and it really transformed the dress for me. Every appointment I felt like I was with family and very comfortable. I purchased my dress elsewhere and came to Tang's for alterations. She made magic. My dress was separates, a skirt and a corset top. I had a pair of pants that I wanted to change into after the ceremony. Tang took a piece of the skirt, took apart the pants, and created custom tuxedo pants that matched the top perfectly. They fit me like a glove. -

Perfection
My husband and I have been married for 25 years and never had a wedding. I finally got to have my dream day. I was on a weight loss journey and lost a significant amount of weight. In December 2020, Sandi helped me find my dream wedding dress at Tang’s! With her joyful personality and knowledge of all the dresses, she made the experience an unforgettable one for my mom and me and helped me commit to a dress!
From there, Tang’s alterations really blew us away. Any concerns I had about the dress, she had a fix for! Not only did she alter the neckline, she constructed new straps for the dress that seamlessly matched the design. I am so grateful for her attention to detail and how comfortable she made me feel with my questions. I am so glad I shopped for my dress at Tang’s and had alterations done there, too! -

Tang took my wedding dress and made it fit me perfectly exactly how I envisioned. My wedding was postponed about a year and a half, meaning I had several appointments I ended up rescheduling to make sure I only had to get it fitted once. I also live in Chicago, which made pandemic travel and fittings a little tough. Her team worked with me, assured me they would make it happen even if I didn't have the ideal amount of time between fittings and it just took so much stress off of the already stressful time. My dress was also too big, but Tang was able to make it look like it was meant just for me. I was worried about the front, so originally she recommended adding an illusion neck line. I REALLY did not want to add this, and we were able to work together to add cups and find other ways to solve the no slip issue without adding an illusion to the dress. It was PERFECT. Tang also was able to add a few minor details to my rehearsal dinner dress and to my mother's wedding day dress to make them perfect as well. It's certainly expensive to get your dress altered, but if you go to Tang you know it's going to be worth every penny and they will make sure it's exactly what you wanted. Tang did an amazing job with my wedding dress. I couldn't be happier! There were some tricky spots -- sleeves that I wanted to fall differently, lace that contoured my back -- but she was able to maneuver every piece perfectly.
Working with her was also a breeze. I was able to complete my alterations in just two visits, and I was so relieved when I tried it on for my final fitting. She even threw in some wedding day advice that actually really helped!
Loved the experience and would recommend her to any of my friends. -

The BEST in town!!
They were patient and very responsive. My shoes didn’t arrive on time for my appointment and they insisted on waiting for the shoes even if that meant they had to work overnight. Thankfully that wasn’t the case. But I felt like the dress was really taken care of. -

I cannot tell you how happy I was with how my wedding gown turned out. I loved the dress the moment I tried it on, but they were able to make it everything I could have dreamed of. Man! What can I say about Tangs!! It all started in December of 2019. It was like love at first sight. I saw a dress, fell in love, tried it on, and knew it was the one! Unfortunately, COVID hit and my October 2020 wedding was postponed to October 2021. Finally, the day of my first fitting came and I freaked out a bit because my dress was too tight. But Tang assured me she would fix it. The second fitting came and my dress fit like a glove! I fell in love all over again. I am so grateful for Tang and her team for being with me during this almost 2 year journey. The staff there is very welcoming and friendly and Tang has a great sense of humor. Definitely recommend! -

I fell in love with a dress off the rack that was way too big for me. I went on a hunt to find the best tailor I could find in order to make my dream dress a reality. Enter Tang's. From the moment I booked my first appointment, the team here was so courteous, professional and caring. I drove an hour from home for each appointment and it was well worth it. Tang has magic fingers. She reconstructed my dress which involved cutting it in half, taking in various sections and hemming. However, no one would have been able to tell because in the end, the dress looked like it was made for me. Every drive, every dollar, ever minute spent was well worth it. I would highly recommend to any bride looking for the best! -

Amazing alterations
Every team member at Tangs was so pleasant to work with. She altered my wedding dress, and listened to the changes I wanted made to it for my big day. It is worth mentioning that the bustle she designed for my dress kept my dress pinned up all night for dancing! I have been to weddings where the bustle isn’t effective or breaks and the bride is stuck holding her dress all night. I did NOT have that issue! I was able to dance the night away because my bustle stayed up all evening. I highly recommend Tang’s for any of your alterations needs!!! -

Absolute attention to detail!!
I bought an off-the-rack discontinued dress so I had no choice, but to accept the sample size. I was told at the boutique that I most likely wouldn't be able to get it trimmed down more than two dress sizes, but Tang's worked their magic as always. I was able to get it slimmed down about 3-4 dress sizes, added a bustle, and had it hemmed. It turned out beautifully and I felt so comfortable in the dress. I loved it and got so many compliments on my big day! -

Amazing experience
Got my wedding dress tailored here and it turned out amazing. I was a little nervous at first because I lost a good amount of weight, which resulted in 5 inches needing to be taken in and total reconstruction of the top part of the dress. I have a curvier shape so they really had their work cut out for them. I had 3 fittings and at each fitting I really felt like they cared about how I felt in the dress and wanted it to be perfect on me. I absolutely loved my dress and I would recommend everyone to come here to get their dresses altered. -

Tang's Bridal provided alterations for my wedding dress as well as steaming prior to the wedding day. Tang is so personable, but also a master of her craft. She did a beautiful job altering my wedding dress and it fit like a glove. The whole staff is super friendly and easy to work with. I don't know how to start this but if it wasn't for Tang, I could never show up at the wedding. I couldn't find the dress so I decided to trust Zakka Bridal located at Ashburn, VA, and have them custom make my dress. They made me a beautiful dress but unfortunately, I could not stand in it and my shoulders started to hurt after 2 minutes... I couldn't dance, sit, walk or even stand for more than 10 minutes. They gave me hard time making what I wanted and fixing it for me so I decided to get my dress and never go back to their store. COVID-19 happened and we had to postpone the wedding twice so I stopped thinking about it but was worried because I knew I could never wear this beautiful dress again. I was so hopeless and after spending thousands of dollars I decided to get another dress and change it after the ceremony. However, before doing that I started calling a couple of places to see if they can fix my dress. After my consultation appointment with Tang, I knew she is the pro and she knows how to fix my messed-up dress. After 2 weeks I went back for my first fitting with Tang and I couldn't believe how comfortable I was. I can not thank her enough... I owe her my happiness at our wedding. Thank you soooo much Tang for doing your magic... YOU ARE THE BEST! -

Thank you to Tang's for making my wedding dress PERFECT! I bought my dress off of the rack with a vision in mind and Tang's made it happen. Their friendly staff eased any anxiety that I had and they worked efficiently and listened to my requests, and it showed!! I even went to visit them twice - once to get the straps done and another time to get the bodice to fit better. I received so many compliments on my dress thanks to Tangs!

Tang is a joyful, high-energy, professional, intelligent wedding dress miracle worker. I bought my dress that I loved on the model but hated on my body. I took the dress to Tang with little hope and she made the dress fit me like a glove and make me feel so beautiful. She even added to a removable Tulle backing to my dress which I needed for the church. She made my dress the dress of my dreams and played such a pivotal role in the joy of our most special day. Came For Alterations. Left With A Dress.
I was researching for a good seamstress to make alterations on my future dress. I found Tang's Alterations with really good reviews and browsed their website. Turns out they also sell dresses so I looked at their Pinterest board. I made an appointment to try on dresses. I thought I'd try on 8-10 but we only tried on 4. The last dress was not among the picks i took from Pinterest but it was haunting.
I left empty handed and went to BHLDN and one other shop. The last dress from Tang's was the one. I could choose from a light pink or white. I went with traditional white. I could have ordered a size 22 or 16. I'm an 18 but was fasting for the wedding so we ordered the 16.
The owner had to let it out an inch. She gave me a French bustle, shortened the straps, sewed down the internal bra, and sewed in some eye hooks for extra security. During my second visit, I still did not fit in the dress so we let it out another couple of inches. This last alteration occurred the week before my wedding so I was a little worried there wouldn't be enough time to make more alterations in case it did not fit.
The owner was not worried. She reassured me that my dress would fit in time for my big day. Luckily, we didn't have to let it out anymore.
The owner and her assistants are very charming and they know their trade. Even if you do not buy their dresses, please consider using their alterations services. -
