Absolutely Stunning

I couldn't have asked for a better photographer and or a better experience. Opal is an amazing person and her experience and love for her art can be seen through each photo. She was always available when we needed to meet and responded quickly to any questions we had. On the day of the wedding she made sure we followed our timeline and created a friendly space for everyone.
I was given advise once by a family member. "if you are going to spend all this money make sure you spend a good portion on your photos and video." I'm very happy to have listened.

Opal was great!

Paul and I recently enjoyed working with Opal of Sweetbay Photography for our August 5 wedding, and I am pleased with the outcome.
Opal's dedication, talent, and professionalism shone through, leaving us with priceless memories we will cherish as long as we live. Her ability to capture the essence of our wedding day was truly remarkable. She beautifully captured every emotion, detail, and fleeting moment, transforming them into timeless images. Phenomenal - Will Use Again!!!

Opal is amazing! She photographed my husband and I’s wedding back in August and did a fantastic job. As soon as we met her we loved her energy and obvious experience. She also photographed our engagement photos which were beautiful even though the weather wasn’t very cooperative. Her experience and knowledge made us have one less thing to worry about because we knew she would get everything done. Opal was also great handling our large families and guest count. Our pictures are fantastic and I am forever grateful for her amazing work and passion for what she does. We will definitely be hiring her again for future photo ops. Thank you Opal!!!

Opal and Genna are fantastic!

We coordinated with Opal through our wedding venue (Fairview Sonoma), it was a great experience. She hurt her back the week before our wedding and wasn't able to take photos for us, but her lead photographer Genna took over, and we were in great hands. You'll be lucky with whoever you get, the photos turned out amazing, and everyone made us feel so comfortable and taken care of!

Best experience I could have asked for!!!

Opal with Sweetbay photography is absolutely amazing! She was so professional and incredibly responsive. We had to postpone several times because of covid and she worked with us each time and helped ease any concerns we had. Opal shot our engagement pictures and they came out so beautiful and she was such a joy to be around. By the time we had postponed again she wasn’t available for our new date so she sent a photographer she works with and the experience couldn’t have been better! We got married on 10/02/21 and Rhett for photography and Cliff for videography made that day perfect! My husband and I hate getting our picture taken but Rhett made the mood fun and light and had such a great personality. All of our guests talked about how wonderful he was and how he was everywhere getting pictures of everything. We got all of our pictures back in about three weeks and they are so stunning and so fun to look back on to reminisce about the best day of my life! I will forever cherish the experience I got to have with Opal and her team and how easy they made everything for me and the stunning pictures I got out of it! Please do yourself a favor and hire Sweetbay photography for your wedding!

Amazing Photos!

Opal was amazing to work with! She photographed our "mini" ceremony as we had to change our big celebration to next year. She was great at communicating and was very easy to work with. She was calm and laid back, but very good at giving everyone direction and getting the job done. Our photos are incredible! Our friends and family that couldn't join have raved about them. She got all the photos done we had talked about and then some. The lighting was excellent and not over exposed in the photos. She is great to work with and we would definitely recommend her!

Proposal Shoot

Opal was incredible. I live in NYC and traveled to Napa Valley to propose. Opal was super responsive, worked with the winery to understand the lay out and delivered amazing pictures. All while enjoying our moment together. I would recommend Opal for any photography needs!

Absolutely amazing!

Opal did both our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos. Opal was an amazing addition to our day and she took the most amazing photos! Could not have ask for a better photographer. We were so happy with Opal! From the moment we met her, we knew we wanted her to take our wedding photos. She listened to what we were looking for and made us feel very at ease, as we were getting pretty stressed about booking a photographer. On our wedding day, she was awesome. She was calm and kind during some weather-related wedding day stress that had nothing to do with our photos, and we really appreciated her support and positive energy. Her photos are amazing. She stealthily got all of the photos we wanted. She captured our ceremony beautifully. Somehow, she was everywhere without seeming to be anywhere. We love our photos, and we highly recommend Opal!

Opal is absolutely wonderful! She was responsive and open to any questions/concerns/ideas that we had, and was very calm and easy-going throughout the entire process. On the day of, everything went as expected - she was on time and took all of the picture we wanted, and then some.
Beyond that though, she is a great person to have on your team for what is possibly both the most wonderful and most stressful day of your life. She had all her ducks in a row and came completely prepared, she navigated the chaos that is our friends and family wonderfully (no small feat mind you) getting both our shots and accommodating many of those requested by guests, and pulled us away from our guests firmly but gracefully as needed (either to get the pictures we wanted, or because she could just tell we needed a minute). After specific photos were covered, she became, for lack of a better work, a ninja - she was everywhere and nowhere all at the same time. Not once did it feel like she was overbearing/in the middle of everything/in the way, yet every time I turned around she was somewhere new photographing away, even weaving her way through the dance floor, step-ladder and camera in hand. The last thing you want to do on your wedding day is worry, and you definitely won't have to worry about Opal. I couldn't have asked for better.

P.S. if you need a DJ also, ask Opal how to contact her husband. He is just as wonderful to work with, and I couldn't possibly have imagined two vendors working together more smoothly.

I hired Opal for my engagement photos and ultimately my wedding photos as well. We haven't received the wedding photos (it was only a few days ago), but we loved our engagement photos. She was the only photographer that didn't gouge me with ridiculously high prices. She is very professional, and really let us do what felt natural while taking the photos. I would highly recommend Opal and Sweet Bay Photography for any photography work.

We are thrilled with our wedding photos, and enjoyed working with Opal at Sweetbay Photography very much. She is very professional and the photos are excellent.

Opal is very experienced, and knew all the shots to take. We didn't want our photo session after the ceremony to last too long because we wanted to be able to participate in the cocktail hour with our guests. Opal was able to get all the shots we wanted, and finish in time.

Sweetbay Photography is also very reasonably priced, and a real bargain for the quality of work and the professionalism.
We highly recommend Sweetbay!

When we first met with Opal, we knew she was the one we wanted as our photographer. We were lucky to find out that she was still available for our wedding day as she was booking up fast for the season. The package we purchased, included an engagement session. She found us the perfect place for us to have our pictures done. She then sent us a disc of the pictures right away, we picked out a bunch of pictures, and she turned it in to our guest book for everyone to sign at the wedding. I loved this, and so did our guest.

Opal is very friendly, and professional, and she makes having your picture taken fun. She is also very good with kids, and has all the tricks to get them to look at the camera.

Our wedding pictures turned out great! Opal got the all the group shots we needed. She was able to get a lot of them done before the wedding as well, leaving only a few to do after the ceremony. She is very good about keeping on a schedule and is very accommodating. During the reception, she does an amazing job at getting all the great shots and capturing those memories for us. She is also detailed about getting shots of EVERYONE that was out our wedding.

We got our pictures back in about 3 weeks, she post everything online as well so the guest can view, download, and print them as well. What a great feature!

Opal did a beautiful job with the photography for my daughter's wedding as well as her engagement photos. She brought lots of props to the wedding which helped make the wedding and the photography fun and elegant at the same time. I love that she gave both sets of parents cd's of all the wedding pictures. Opal also did my grandson's 2nd birthday shoot and was able to take a sick, cranky little boy and make the pictures of him delightful!

Opal did an amazing job for our engagement photos and for our New Year's Eve Wedding. We loved that we were able to relive the night through the pictures. Her artistic eye made for some amazing photos and we absolutely love the color with black and white. I had guests tell me that she was so nice and welcoming, when she went around to the tables she was very polite and non intrusive. I also loved that she took so many pictures of the guests, I want them to be able to relive the night as well. I would definitely recommend Opal to anyone.

Truly cant say one bad thing about Opal and her amazing photography skills. She and her assistant just shot my sisters wedding on saturday and my family and I couldnt be happier with her services. As a professional makeup artist I've done dozens of weddings and she is by far one of the best photographers Ive worked with. She was on time, quick to set up, great enegry the entire time, made everything flow perfectly with the schedule, and I know she got some amazing shots. We are so glad we found Opal for our wedding photography. She is sweet and friendly and makes you instantly comfortable in front of the camera. One thing that I really liked is Opal was able to take AMAZING photos during the ceremony, and yet kept in the background so that my family was able to take pictures as well. She also went around and took pictures of all the guests, which was a nice touch. She kept it casual too, none of the pictures were stiff or uncomfortable. She had us running, jumping and laughing - she was truly able to capture the day. I would highly suggest her for your wedding photography!

I absolutely loved having Opal as our wedding photographer. We met her first doing our engagement photos and she did a fantastic job getting my husband to relax, he can't smile on cue like most of us ladies. What can I say about our wedding pictures...pure fun. If you book Opal, definitely ask her to bring the props and the frame. Not only did she catch some fantastic moments of us, she entertained our guests. Great mixture of classic wedding shots with a modern twist to satisfy everyone.

Opal photographed our wedding in San Francisco in October. She’s wonderful, a real pleasure with whom to work. You can tell she really enjoys what she does, and she worked hard to get great photos for us. (We were actually worried for her when she stepped into the street to get some shots.) Our friends and family remarked at how friendly she was, and she was even great with the kids. She got a lot of artistic shots despite a long and rainy day.

We also had an engagement session with her and highly recommend that too. It was fun (she had us run barefoot along the beach at one point), and we were really happy with the results. Her prices are much better than most photographers we checked.

Beautiful!! Opal took sooo many wonderful pictures of our wedding we couldnt decide which ones to pick for our books! She is very unique in her work and captures every magical moment. We had 375 guest at our wedding and she got a shot of everyone at our wedding! Her style is very natural and the black and white photos are awesome! She is such a sweet person and easy to work with! We will definitly recommend her to anyone and we are keeping her in mind for any time we need pictures, She is also affordable and takes pictures just as good as people who charge 4 or 5 thousand dollars. You can tell she enjoys what she does and has fun!

Opal did an AMAZING job at my wedding this summer. I am still in a state of shock at how beautiful the photos turned out! Opal was wonderful and patient in the planning stages of the wedding and on the actual day she made necessary adjustments according to the weather and crowds to give me the best possible shots. She has such a creative eye - she found beauty in places I would have never imagined and captured so many important moments and emotions through her camera. Everyone I have shown the photos to has had nothing but praise for Opal's work, and some have gasped when I told them how affordable Opal was. I would absolutely recommend her and and plan on asking her to take the photos when my sister gets married. :)

Opal was amazing! She made everything so easy on the day of the wedding and even our engagement pictures were so coordinated down to where every shot was going to be taken. She had never done engagement pictures where we had ours and she went out to the sites beforehand and selected the locations and exact spots so our time was best used. Our pictures we got back from that were so great! I am really looking forward to seeing the final product from our wedding shots.
On our wedding day you didn't even know she or her assistant were there. They stayed their distance and just floated around the room.

We went with Opal after seeing her website and great pricing! She takes amazing pictures! Once we received our engagement pictures we knew we picked the right person for our wedding! She was on time and so professional with everything. My nephew was in the wedding and we were a bit nervous about getting pics with him but she was so great with him and got him to smile for some shots! She is so creative. She is so easy to work with and she makes you feel so comfortable! I will definately suggest her to my friends and family!!!

Opal Gaines is an amazing photographer! She took wonderful pictures and was so patient, calm, and professional throughout the entire day. She didn't even blink when tons of relatives crowded in for extra unplanned pictures, and still managed to find time to fit in all of the shots we had asked for. We were very happy with her work, and I highly recommend Opal as a wedding photographer. :)

I love Opal! She made sure that we can remember our wedding day forever. She was affordable, kind, professional, and truly passionate about her job. My husband and I met 3 photographers who wanted to charge huge sums of money for practically nothing. Since the wedding I have had friends say things: "Your pictures were BEAUTIFUL, you must have had the best photographer on Earth", " Wow, the photos are amazing, they got everything"

If you want to have a picture of every detail of your wedding then you should probably stop searching and use Opal...

I wish this scale went to a 100 because a 5 isn't enough for Opal. We had a rough start finding a photographer for our wedding, with one taking horrible photos and then the other one dropping out so when we found Opal we were so relieved.
My husband and I decided to retake our engagement photos with Opal and we are so happy we did.
When it our was time for our wedding, Opal was right there with helpful hints. During the wedding day, she had us posed with family and friends and also caught the incredible candid shots with her assistant.
I have already been referring her to my friends.

The only downside with Opal is, you can't pick just one favorite photo and that to me is not a negative!!

what more can one say about Opal, other than she is plain AMAZING. I first met Opal as the photographer for a wedding I was maid of honor in, and later decided to have her be the photographer for my wedding. Both her and her assistant were so fun to work with, she caught the little details of my wedding, she was very affordable, she came earlier than scheduled, she returned any phone calls or emails in a timely manner,she was fun and creative, our wedding party loved her, and my favorite thing about her was that she had the list i sent her of "must have" shots in her hand at my wedding. Every one was impressed with my photos (because they were awesome) and she was more than a pleasure to work with.

WOW Opal is amazing. Just the way she leads the way and makes sure everything runs smooth. She goes above and beyond her job as a photographer. Paying close attention to details and capturing what seems like every moment of the night. Her name fits well. We still look through our wedding photos and smile. She got some photos of our family that will never be able to be captured again. She was very professional, organized and a pleasure to work with. I had got a lot of compliments from guests about her even before they saw the pictures. We will be contacting Opal soon for our maternity photos too ;)

Opal is the BEST! I have been a part of two weddings she has done and I have had her do my family portraits as well. She is so willing to do anything you want. She has a great eye and is very creative. I love the editing she does on the photos and she is willing to do something else if you need it. She is by far the best photographer I have ever worked with. (And I am very sad to be losing her to CA!)

Opal is amazing. She is excellent at what she does, in our opinions. The work she does is of high caliber, and you get so much for the money. We had both our engagement pictures and wedding pictures done by her. She caught every moment before, during and after the wedding. We highly recommend Opal and her second photographer Michael.

We were just meant to find Opal. Photography was such a hard vendor for us and was a difficult search due to many options and pricing. Not only is Opal an awesome photographer, she is fun and creative. She definitely worked with our budget and made it easy for us. A great bonus to Opal is she has a photo booth of her own which we ended up adding to our reception. It was such a hit!

Loved Emily the photographer soooo much! She was awesome and took great photos. Opal, the owner, however, took almost two weeks just to send us our password to get in and see our photos on the website. When I asked how long it would take to receive our photo CD in the mail, she said it normally takes 4-6 weeks. That seemed excessive for me considering everything is digital in this age. 5 stars for Emily, 2 stars for customer service. I would not recommend...Emily needs to go out on her own!
