Exactly what we wanted!

Nikki was super responsive and professional. We did a tasting and went over our vision. Our cake was small (50 guests, 2 tiers) and her completed cake was better than we coud have imagined. We absolutley loved the final product and highly recommend her beautiful work!

Cake was amazing

She did an amazing job on our wedding cake. The cake was beautiful and delicious. Nikki did the cake exactly how we wanted. We loved the cake so much.

Nikki is amazing! We really didn't know what we wanted in a wedding cake until we tasted her samples and then we knew! She made an amazing wedding cake and a very cool, custom Virginia Tech groom's cake. She was fantastic to work with and I would recommend her without reserve!

Nikki from Sweet Ladies Bakery is the best. She made us a beautiful wedding cake for our March 2018 wedding – the cake was as gorgeous on the outside as it was delicious on the inside. We loved it so much that we brought the top tier home to eat the next day! Working with Nikki was wonderful – she made the whole process so easy and fun. The cake tasting ended up being one of our favorite parts of wedding planning. I’ll definitely be reaching out to Nikki again in the future for cakes for other special occasions.

We must have tried 10 different cake bakers before we decided on Sweet Ladies Bakery. What an awesome cake! I just can't rave enough about what a great product, what amazing service, and what a great experience we had with them. Not only did they provide us with our dream cake, but it was so incredibly delicious. They were able to do a different flavor for each layer of cake, and really pulled out a one of a kind cake for our Halloween themed wedding. They are incredibly affordable too. I was so intimidated by the prices of cakes in Northern Virginia but we got our three tier cake for less than $500. Definitely call and at least schedule a tasting! You will understand why you need to go with them after you try their amazing cake!

I can't say enough great things about Nikki and her team. Our tasting with Nikki was great. Even when taking our ideas to her for design, she was able to make great suggestions that we had not considered before. She was very flexible with letting us try a different cake/icing combo when there was a combination that we did not care for. In the end, the cake was beautiful and tasted great! Our guests loved it and we can't wait for our 1-year anniversary cake.

Nikki and her team provided a wonderful, delicious cake for my wedding! I never expected that the cake was something my husband and I would feel strongly about, with all of the other wedding details there were to worry over, but we were surprised at the low quality (read: taste!), and high prices of many of bakers we initially looked at. Nikki was actually the fourth baker we met with, and we knew we wanted her as soon as we left that day! Her home business was very clean and professional, and the cake at our tasting was DELICIOUS! We also had a unique vision - we wanted a "naked" (i.e. frosting-less) cake with berries, and Nikki did not bat an eyelash at this request - rather, she translated our vision into a beautiful (and tasty) creation! Unlike the other bakers we met / contacted, she took into account the fact that an frosting-less cake should cost less than one with buttercream, fondant, etc. (fewer ingredients - it just makes sense!), and offered a great price. Her contract and all of our communications were very professional throughout, and though I never even saw her day-of (that's how good she was!), the cake was beautiful and got gobbled up by everyone :). I ended up working with Sweet Ladies through my venue, which partnered with Sweet Ladies Bakery to provide the cake. It was a pleasure to work with Nikki. From planning through the big day, she was responsive and helpful. During our in-person planning session, I loved the way she sketched out what she had in mind. When I forgot to tell the florist that we wanted flowers for the cake, Nikki was quick to reassure me that everything would be ok. On the big day, the cake was a work of art. It was beautiful outside and the alternative lemon and chocolate layers with raspberry buttercream were even better than at the tasting. My only regret is that I didn’t get to eat more cake during the wedding!

Nikki is incredible! She is gracious at all times. I changed my mind about my cake a few times but she was always cooperative and kind. The cake was delicious and drop dead GORGEOUS! Her prices are extremely reasonable and her design work is of superior quality! Hire SLB now.

Nikki at Sweet Ladies did fantastic work for us. She was very responsive to our initial inquiries and shortly had us come by for cake tastings. She was able to adapt our wedding invitation design into the cake design to lovely effect. Both her carrot cake and her almond cake were to die for. She also provided us with four cheesecakes for the wedding that our guests raved about.

Words cannot express our joy and happiness with the results of my daughter's wedding cake. It was beautiful and so delicious! We selected 3 different flavors for the layers and each was wonderful! There was more than enough for our guests and we enjoyed the leftovers for a few days and the bride and groom will be enjoying the top tier on their first anniversary! I had heard great things about Sweet Ladies, and was excited to work with them for our wedding. I am so happy I did because Nikki and her team are total professionals and dream to work with. Our wedding cake was an abouslute showstopper and beyond delicious. It was so good, many wedding guests had two -three slices.
Nikki will work with your budget and your taste preferences to create a one of a kind cake masterpiece. She is so knowledgeable about her craft and understands the wedding planning craziness. I cant say enough good things about Sweet Ladies, except I am so excited to have our fresh one-year anniversery cake!!! Nikki is by far the best wedding cake vendor in the DC area if you are looking for value, aesthetics, and deliciousness!

Go for a tasting and you will look no further. It was hard to decide what flavors to choose because they were all so delicious. We made more than a couple of changes before we decided on the final "look" of my daughter's wedding cake, and Nikki was patient and responsive. We received many compliments on the elegant look of the cake and of course the flavors. We look forward to the Anniversary cake that we ordered and will enjoy next May!

I have to give Nikki 5 STARS. We met with her early on in the process and she was very welcoming and sweet. We loved the flavor of her cakes and I was blown away by her attention to detail when I saw my wedding cake at the venue I was so amazed and in LOVE!1!.. We chose a red velvet cake and hummingbird cake. I had both. I LOVED IT and so did my guest. They couldn't get enough of the hummingbird cake!!!!!

Sweet Ladies Bakery provided the cake for my wedding. Nikki was great to work with. She was quick to respond to all emails and very helpful in choosing flavors to try at our tasting. The tasting was really fun and Nikki helped us decide on the design of the cake. We ended up choosing lemon cake with raspberry filling, marble cake with white chocolate mousse filling, and yellow cake with fresh fruit and whipped cream. Our wedding cake was the prettiest wedding cake I have ever seen. It was nicer than any of the pictures I brought to show Nikki of what I was hoping for and it tasted amazing. All of our guests told us it was the best wedding cake they have ever had. I highly recommend Sweet Ladies Bakery!!

Sweet Ladies Bakery is amazing and I would highly recommend them! Not only are their desserts a 10, but the owner Nikki is professional, reliable, quick to answer your questions and a truly nice person.

We choose Sweet Ladies Bakery to do a cake for my bridal shower, desserts for our rehearsal dinner and desserts & wedding cake for our wedding. Each and every dessert we chose was amazing. Coming from someone who does not generally like cake, I had more pieces of cake than I care to share. The cupcakes were outstanding: we chose red velvet, carrot cake and chocolate. Each flavor was perfectly moist and were the best cupcakes I've ever had. We also chose to offer cookies for our guest for dessert: we had pumpkin chocolate chip, peanut butter and a a unique, fun twist on oreo cookies. They as well were outstanding and we received many rave reviews. For our wedding cake we opted for a funfetti cake and with raspberry buttercream. It was true perfection! Sweet Ladies Bakery nailed our simple, but fun vision that we had for our wedding desserts.

To quote my sister in law "That red velvet cupcake was by far the most delicious thing I have ever tasted!"

Another quote: "There are oreos inside of the cookie? Have I died and gone to heaven?"

I highly, highly recommend using Sweet Ladies Bakery for any of your baked goods needs :) You will not be disappointed!

Wedding cake has never been a favorite aspect of any wedding celebration I attended, because frankly it just never really tastes that good....until my own wedding! Our wedding cake from Sweet Ladies Bakery was absolutely delicious! Our guests were raving about it at our reception and still compliment our cake when they see us.

We had a great cake tasting experience at Sweet Ladies and ordering our cake with Nikki (the owner) was effortless. The contract was straightforward and easy to understand and there were no hidden fees or loopholes. Our cake looked exactly how we envisioned and it tasted incredibly better than we expected. The price, for the quality, was absolutely fair (we ended up ordering a 3-tier cake with 2 sheet cakes). I would recommend Sweet Ladies to any bride and will continue to use Sweet Ladies myself for any future celebrations deserving of a delicious cake. Thanks, Sweet Ladies for helping to make our day perfect for us!

So far we have only done our cake tasting, but Nikki was absolutely wonderful! She had great ideas, and was able to combine all of our ideas into a beautiful and cohesive design. I can't wait to see the final outline of the cake. The flavors we had to taste were delicious; we tried the devil's food, marble, and red velvet and all three were so moist and decadent. In the end, we decided on a marble cake with a dark chocolate mousse that is absolutely to die for. I'm so glad we found Sweet Ladies, and would absolutely recommend her to anyone. Will update as the process moves forward and as we get closer to our wedding, but so far she has left nothing to be desired.

Sweet Ladies Bakery Rocks! Our cake was fabulous! Even after a very filling meal, many of our guests ad a second slice of cake! Her variety of flavors of cake and frosting make combinations really limitless - and you really can't go wrong. They did a great job designing our cake as well. We can't wait for our 1 year anniversary to pickup our freshly baked top tier! We are very pleased we picked Sweet Ladies Bakery!

We got our wedding cake from Sweet Ladies Bakery. We loved all the flavors Nikki had to offer. Almond with amaretto buttercream was my absolute favorite and a hit at our wedding. We also did marble with milk chocolate caramel ganache which was so delicious. My cake was beautiful and Nikki did a great job at using her creativity. I didn't offer much direction and I loved the end result. She worked with our budget and made an awesome cake. I would highly recommend her!

Nikki made us the best wedding cake! First of all, when I walked into the room, I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. Better yet, it tasted amazing, just as I remember. I, as the bride, actually sat down from dancing to eat my cake. Alone at my table, enjoying every last morsel of my chocolate cake with dark chocolate ganache filling with buttercream icing, dyed to the perfect off white to match my entire theme. I got a lot of compliments from my guests about how they really enjoyed the cake and it "actually was moist and not dry." We had the vanilla with buttercream- simple but so good. Chocolate with dark chocolate ganache filling- I'm a chocolate lover. And red velvet with cream cheese filling. Everyone had great things to say. No one didn't like it! Thank you Nikki!

These ladies are extraordinary!!! We have tasted all the wedding cakes (it seems) in DC area...these tasted the absolute best. We don't like over sweet confectionary. These cakes were divinely sweet, but not overly sugary.

Not only that...these ladies made our cakes absolutely beautiful. We just brought them bunches of flowers from groceries and wholesalers and they arranged them onto our cakes like true florists professionals... and didn't even charge us any extra fees for the floral arrangements.

I can't recommend them enough. If you have a chance, do see their adorable home-based bakery. French shabby chic bakery at its best!

Nikki is so great and easy to work with! All of her cakes taste amazing, too. I wanted a simple design with fresh flowers, but didn't have a specific vision. Nikki showed me a bunch of possibilities and offered suggestions based on my colors/ style. The cake turned out beautiful, was delivered without any problems and tasted great! We can't wait for our cake she is going to make for our 1 yr anniversary!

The cake was delicious and we were able to modify our plans multiple times without issue including having 4 different cake flavors for the different tiers. Our guests loved the quality and variety.

I had an excellent experience with Sweet Ladies Bakery. Being a home bakery, it is astounding at the amount of work they accomplish. We were able to get three different flavors for our guests and the design was impeccable. I highly recommend for all occasions.

We bought a three-tier wedding cake and a groom’s cake from SLB. They were absolutely delicious—fresh, moist, and flavorful! Nikki baked exactly what we wanted and created a beautiful wedding cake with delicate scroll piping on each layer. The groom’s cake was in the shape of a basketball (life-size!), and it was a big hit among our guests! We are very happy with SLB!

We chose Sweet Ladies Bakery to design our wedding cake because she went to school with my husband. We would choose them again in a heartbeat because it was a masterpiece of a cake! By far, the most delicious cake I've had at any wedding and she so perfectly executed each detail that was discussed. Put your cake in their hands - you will not be sorry!

Additionally, part of the deal is that they make you a one-year anniversary cake in your choice of flavors...SO looking forward to that!

I am so happy that we used Sweet Ladies Bakery. It's a local business that has really made a name for itself in my book. We had a 5-tier wedding cake, and got four different cake/frosting flavors. Each flavor was DELICIOUS without being overly rich (which I love). I submitted a picture of the cake I wanted (that I saw from Pinterest) and Nikki really nailed it. It looked perfect! I also had a groom's cake made here for my rehearsal dinner that was a surprise for my groom. Nikki wrote down his favorite flavors from our tasting, and the groom's cake was composed of those flavors, along with three custom tiers that she made look just like the pictures I gave her (a tackle box, a case of beer, and a redskins helmet). Overall I was very happy with both cakes and the service. Nikki and her staff are very friendly and were a pleasure to work with as well. Should I ever need a custom cake in the future I will certainly be coming here!

Best. Cake. EVER!!! My husband and I (along with our other guests) were thrilled with our wedding cake!! I had given Nikki a very unique challenge with the cake that I had envisioned in my head and Nikki and her team brought my vision to life!! The design and taste are beyond anything that I have seen before! Every little detail was executed perfectly and don't even get me started on the taste!! Oh my goodness, this was some of the best cake I have ever tasted! My only concern is that I have to wait almost a year to get my hands on that cake again! I actually had a guest tell me that they went around to other tables to see if anyone didn't eat their slice so she and her daughter could score another piece!! I had so many guests come up to me to ask where this piece of heaven came from and I was excited to pass along the name of Sweet Ladies Bakery!! I feel like no other cake can compare! I would definitely recommend Sweet Ladies Bakery to any couple!

Our wedding cake was included in our reception package, and I'm so glad Sweet Ladies was one of the options. Our cake was AMAZING. The design was beautiful - we gave Nikki a pretty specific description of what we wanted - and she executed it perfectly - everyone was talking about how beautiful our cake was. And the cake itself was delicious. We had three different levels with three different flavors because we couldn't pick one favorite. The best part is that we get a mini cake for our one year anniversary, versus eating a piece of cake that's been frozen for a year - we can't wait for that!

We used Sweet Ladies Bakery for our wedding cake and HIGHLY recommend them! They had come recommended by a friend of my mom's, but we did other due diligence to verify. We went to a bridal fair at Ft. Belvoir (where we had our reception) and compared them with several other vendors. We also tried another bakery that had come recommended. By far, Sweet Ladies had the best-tasting cake! For whatever reason, a lot of times when you get fancy cakes, they taste very bland, and it was really important for our cake to taste like cake!

We first met with Nikki for a tasting of some requested flavor combinations. They were delicious! We also brought some sample pictures of cakes we liked. Crazy as it sounds, we also wanted some dinosaurs on our wedding cake--though we wanted them to be very colorful, cartoony, and happy. We brought her some general sample pictures and talked through our concept with her and she really got it. We felt very confident.

Flash forward to the wedding and the cake could not have been any more perfect! It was gorgeous, delicious, and the dinosaurs could not have been any more adorable. We look forward to our anniversary cake later this year and to using her for other specialty cakes going forward.

Nikki is an amazing baker and truly an artist. We could not more highly recommend Sweet Ladies Bakery!

We LOVED our wedding cake from Sweet Ladies Bakery and had a wonderful experience working with Nikki. She was very easy to get in touch with, listened carefully to what we were interested in and drew a mock-up of the cake, followed up with us a few days before the wedding to make sure she had the most up to date head count, and then made the best wedding cake imaginable. It looked beautiful and tasted spectacular! Seriously, our guests were going from table to table trying to find extra slices. I highly recommend Sweet Ladies!

We hosted a 50th wedding anniversary party for my parents. I had an old photo of my parents cutting their cake. I emailed it to Sweet Ladies and they were able to make a smaller, more delicious version! Not only did the cake look fabulous, it tasted amazing too! Nikki as so wonderful to work with too, she made it so easy to order the perfect cake for the party. This is the 2nd time I've used Sweet Ladies, and honestly---I will never go anywhere else again. Wow, these ladies have great skill but also great creativity. We are not fans of the taste of fondant icing, but of course like the way wedding cakes look with it. They came up with a way to enjoy both. They made a 3 tier cake with only the top tier real!! My daughter and her husband cut into the top layer, while the caterer was busy cutting up the sheet cakes in back that were done with butter cream icing! Brilliant! This was the best wedding cake I had EVER had! My daughter chose Red Velvet and Almond. So the caterer placed alternating flavors at each place setting and that made for friendly cooperation to get tastes of both. And they did not disappoint...the moistest cake I have ever had, and this was a less expensive way to have it all!! Absolutely recommend Sweet Ladies bakery!

Simply put--YUM!!!! We did cupcakes, a cake topper, and VT Hokies Stadium Grooms Cake...all were beautifully made and incredibly scrumptious! Our guests did not leave one cupcake left over. The cake topper is nestled away in the freezer. The grooms cake--well every VT grad was super impressed--I think one of the FB comments to a picture of it was: BEST WEDDING CAKE EVER! Nikki is incredibly talented at what she does. Her talent at designing anything perfectly with half baked ideas from me was mind blowing. The best part? Not only are they the most beautiful cakes I have ever seen from my best friend's beach themed bridal shower, to my groom's cake Nike shoe & DJ Turn Tables, to our 4 tiered wedding cake - but they are THE MOST delicious cakes I have ever tasted. These cakes are AMAZING! Our wedding was at Fort Belvoir, which partners with Sweet Ladies in the price of the catering, so the wedding cake itself was "free" from the vendor. Amber was extremely nice, very professional, and set up a tasting so we could try the combinations we wished. She drew up an illustration of the cake and it turned out more beautiful at the wedding than we could have imagined!! We also decided to go ahead and purchase a groom's cake, which was shaped like a Ford Truck. It was very realistic down to the itty bitty details. The groom LOVED it!! Not to mention the fondant doesn't taste like most cakes (glue), it actually tastes like pure sugar, and the cake itself is moist and delicious on the wedding day, as if it was made within 24 hours. I absolutely recommend them, they're wonderful!

Nikki and Sweet Ladies are hands down the BEST wedding cake vendors in the greater DC area!! We were absolutely thrilled with our wedding cake! Not only did it look gorgeous, it tasted even better and that's not always easy to find! We picked a white cake with whipped cream and fresh fruit for our base layer and then Red Velvet with white chocolate mousse for our middle layer (the top layer is coconut with cream and berries and I cannot wait to dig in to it this week!!). We had a LOT of chefs and baking experts at our wedding and they all raved about the "best" fondant job they'd ever seen and the perfectly moist cake! Nikki also made filled cupcakes for us, as we had a lot of children at our wedding and they were devoured! Anyone considering a cake vendor in the NoVA or DC area should go with Sweet Ladies - you will not be disappointed.

For our intimate wedding of 40 people, our caterer R&R Catering hooked us up with Sweet Ladies Cupcakes for our reception. We chose two flavors: lemon with raspberry cream frosting and red velvet with cream cheese frosting. Ours was an outdoor event with a garden theme. Sweet Ladies Bakery applied the frosting to look like flower petals! At our request, the caterer added sugar gum paste rose buds at the center of each cupcake. Gorgeous -- and delicious!! And the cupcakes were just the right size so that folks could have one of each flavor, if they so desired! Sweet Ladies Bakery was an excellent find at a good price. If they had a storefront close to me, I'd be visiting them regularly!

Nikki was great! She was very familiar with our reception venue which was the main reason we even contacted her. But, she was so much more than that! When I first contacted her about making a cake she was very flexible about scheduling a tasting (Saturday mornings), and let us pick three cake/frosting combinations we wanted to try. When we stopped by her house for the tasting, I can honestly say I was so impressed with the cakes that she had on display that I knew right then and there that she was the cake artist for us. We had brought in photos of so many diffrent cakes we loved and had no clue what we wanted. But she noticed the common elements in the cakes and helped us reign in our ideas and design a beautiful cake. Delivery was so easy, we told her when and where and she asked us to have the cake toppers there ready for her, and when we got to the reception, our cake was there and beautiful! Nikki was just wonderful to work with. She was very responsive and flexible. She works from home, so expect to do meetings with her at a local Panera. I did not want to pay a lot of money for decorations on the cake - I just wanted something that tasted good. Nikki did more than that; she created something that tasted absolutely delicious! She worked within my budget and at no point did I feel any pressure to put bells and whistles on my cake. She made two cakes for me, a presentation cake with two layers and a sheet cake to feed 110 people. I was not expecting much from the presentation cake and left some store-bought roses for her to decorate with by her suggestion. However, when I saw the cake at the reception I was amazed. The butter cream was perfectly smooth and the flowers were arranged beautifully. The taste was just phenomenal! Everyone was commenting on how great it was for a wedding cake. Sweet Ladies Bakery was free of hassle, no pressure, exceeded my expectations and stayed within my budget. What more could a bride ask for?

Nikki created an adorable labrador groom's cake for us as well as our beautiful wedding cake. I was so disappointed because I thought I had missed tasting one of the flavors during the wedding, but thankfully our caterer had saved some for us. All three flavors (wedding layers - spice with cream cheese filling and yellow with choc buttercream, and groom's - lemon) were so wonderful - everyone was raving about them. The fondant on both cakes were perfect, and the detail on both cakes elicited rave reviews from everyone - even days later as our families were still partaking. Nikki was so patient with us, and didn't let us sweat anything, even when we showed up early to the reception site and almost ruined the groom cake surprise. Thank you Nikki for being so wonderful to us!

We worked with Sweet Ladies Bakery for our October 6th wedding. Our tasting was fun and delicious. We had a very good idea of what we wanted and Nikki was happy to accommodate. We went with a lemon cake with raspberry buttercream filling and it was delicious - we received many compliments from our guests. Even though the cake was a simple buttercream textured design, it looked perfect. One guest even commented that she thought it wasn't a real cake! We also love that there is an option to have a new cake made on our first anniversary instead of freezing the top layer - genius! Overall, would highly recommend.

For my 9/20/14 wedding cake, I used Sweet Ladies Bakery. From the initial consultation/taste-test to the day-of, everything was deliciously well done. I had so many different ideas about what kind of wedding cake I wanted and Nikki (the owner) was able to talk it out with me and put my vision into a cohesive design. I went with a lace design and the yellow cake with chocolate buttercream and the marble cake with white chocolate buttercream. The cake turned out beautifully and the guests couldn't say enough good things about it. Sweet Ladies also does an option that you can choose to have your 1 year anniversary cake (the top tier) made for you at the time of your 1 year anniversary, so you can have it fresh and can re-live all of those memories (instead of it taking room in your freezer for a year!) My only thought for improvement is that I sometimes had to wait a few days for an email reply. Nothing fell through due to it, but compared to some other vendors, it seemed to take longer to hear from the team. Otherwise, flawless execution and a wonderful place for beautiful and delicious cakes.

The cake that Sweet Ladies made for my wedding was more wonderful and beautiful than I had imagined it during our meeting. It was absolutely perfect. We had guests come up to us later "confessing" to seconds and thirds, it was that good. And it really was. Their fondant was to die for (I have had experience with terrible fondant) this one was delicious. They deliver, and even put our topper on when they set up.

I searched for a long time to find the right bakery for my wedding cake. I wanted to find a place that would not only do a beautiful cake for me, but also a sculpted groom's cake. Nikki was wonderful and really listed to what we wanted, she even agreed to make a cinnamon butter-cream frosting for my spice cake. The groom's cake also turned out amazing! My husband wanted a specific car wheel as the cake and Nikki followed the picture exactly and it turned out perfect!! I was really impressed with how moist the cake was and all of our guests could not stop talking about how good the red velvet groom's cake tasted. My only critique is that getting in touch with Nikki through email can be a bit difficult, but she answered my calls right away. We are also looking forward to our fresh anniversary cake in a year instead of having to freeze the top for our first anniversary!

The cake was delicious! We really appreciated her ability to do the scrollwork without using fondant (which we are not fans of). We searched around to find a baker who would do that and Nikki said, no problem, so we said you're hired :)

Beautiful cake--so many guests remarked on the classy styling, embellished by fresh flowers, and it was delicious, too!

My cake was absolutely beautiful and delicious. Nikki came highly recommended, and when we met with her she provided us with delicious samples of her different flavors, and the pictures she showed us of other cakes she had made-- they were gorgeous.
All of her flavors were delicious, and she did an amazing job decorating it-- I wanted textured buttercream with fresh flowers on it, and she followed my preferences to perfection-- it looked absolutely stunning.
I wish I had gotten to eat more of it.... not sure what happened to it after the wedding, but I never saw it again, and didn't get any leftovers :( I hope someone enjoyed the extras!
My one complaint is that I found Nikki to be difficult to get in touch with-- she was not very prompt responding to emails, to the point where sometimes I got concerned. But, I think the main reason is that she is a one-woman show-- I think she does it all, and she seems to be very successful, hence very busy.

I used Sweet Ladies Bakery for my wedding cake and was very pleased. Prior to meeting with us, Niki the pastry chef asked us to submit 3 cake flavors to taste. She met us at a Panera Bread for the tasting which was very convenient. Then, to our pleasant surprise, the cakes for the tasting were baked into cupcakes! I thought this was extremely clever, and we loved the cake tasting! Niki was flexible with the pricing, had great ideas, and threw in a fresh anniversary cake (we're not big on frozen cake). My wedding cake was beautiful and delicious! Me and my hubby just microwaved a slice of the topper today (2 days later) and it tasted even better than the day of! The only complaint that I have is that Niki does not respond to emails that well - but she usually responds to phone calls. All together, a good experience.

We ordered wedding and grooms cake from Sweet Ladies Bakery. The cake was delicious and gorgeous! Both cakes were a huge hit, and they turned out much better than I imagined.

The wedding cake was PERFECT!! My only regret is that I didn't get to taste the different layers. In lieu of keeping the top layer, we are going to have them make us a fresh cake (replica) next year. Yum!

The only reason they didn't get 5 stars: Our red velvet was a little on the dry side (not the entire cake though), and it was a little hard to contact them during the coordination phase. Definitely request boxes (just in case there are left overs.)

Nikki did cupcakes and a groom's cake for my wedding; both turned out awesome. She was really flexible when I wanted to make changes for the design of my cupcakes. She took a couple of days to return emails, so I would suggest calling if you need to get ahold of them quickly. She can make any cake you give her a picture of; just like cake boss on tv! People at the wedding couldn't get over how real the groom's cake looked; it really did look like a cake from ace of cakes or cake boss. Be sure to request boxes to be sent to the venue for packing up leftover cake at the end of the night.

I got a 3D grooms cake and our wedding cake from Nikki. Both cakes turned out better than I imagined. The grooms cake was a pug which was absolutely awesome! I had the cake at our rehearsal dinner and it was just the spotlight and talk of the night - and was yummy! Our wedding cake was so beautiful! Nikki did a great job creating my vision on both cakes. Although we did hear people say the wedding cake was a little dry. My biggest compliant is Nikki's super slow responsiveness. She takes awhile to return emails and phone calls, which drove me crazy because all my other vendors were very responsive. This made me a little nervous leading up to our big day, but everything turned out flawless, on time and delicious.

SLB can make just about any design cake and their wedding cakes turn out fabulous. The flavor of their cakes are awesome but the price is a bit high for what it's worth. They take a few days to respond back to your requests.

We were satisfied with the baked goods. The problem is that when we placed our order, we expected to pick it up in Springfield, VA which is the address listed on their webpage. No. The bakery is run out of their home in Lorton, and when we arrived one hour early (3pm Friday) to pick up our order from their house, no-one answered the door. We had to drive back again two hours later (during rush hour traffic) to pick it up... but what really annoyed me was that they lied and said they were home when we tried to pick our order up the first time. If I had to do it again, I would place my order with a brick-and-mortar business.
