Amy was incredible! She was one of the best decisions we made wedding planning. She poured her heart and soul into our event -- it felt like she was family by the end of it! Amy made everyone feel comfortable, had excellent shot ideas, and respected our preferences as a couple! Something important to my husband and me is that our media team felt like a fly on the wall -- which Amy was. She captured priceless memories in both digital and film formats that we will treasure forever. Everyone in my life was speechless at our finished photo album. Amy is a must book! -

I can not recommend Amy enough for all your wedding photography needs! From engagement photos to wedding day photography she was a joy to work with. She was very organized, detailed and timely through all of our shoots. Our photographs are absolutely amazing and ones we will cherish for the rest of our lives!!! Amy is the best! -

One of the best decisions for our wedding!
Amy so beautifully and faithfully captured our wedding day (as well as taking both stunning engagement and bridal portraits)! Amy so genuinely captures the beauty and the emotions of your day and looking back on our pictures makes us wish we could do it all over again. From the start, hiring the right photographer was a big priority of ours and we are so lucky to have found Amy. Our photos are timeless and elegant and we will treasure them forever! -

Amy was an absolute DREAM to work with for my wedding. Our pictures turned out stunning, there was not a single moment or glance that was not captured. It was the perfect mix of documentary style authenticity and the timeless and clean posed photos that we all want to hold onto forever. My husband and I are not great in front of cameras, but Amy did a great job of making us feel comfortable and natural. We were able to have our intimate moments that felt like just him and I while still having her capture them so beautifully. She worked so well with us prior to our wedding day to find what worked best for us, our families, and our events we had planned. We loved our photos so much and were so grateful to her and her team. In addition to her amazing work, she made the day so blissful and easy. She worked so well with my planner and they had the day worked out perfectly so my husband and I could relax and enjoy. The turn around time for our entire wedding album was so quick. We had an extensive highlight gallery within a few days and our entire gallery just three weeks later. We truly cannot rave about Amy enough, we loved her and recommend her to anyone regardless of the occasion! -

Absolutely the BEST!!
I could not recommend Amy enough - she is absolutely amazing! She is so skilled in so many areas - she’s professional, organized, timely, creative, talented, kind, and also extremely helpful! Our day would not have gone as smoothly as it did without Amy’s help. She was so efficient with time and consistently made sure we were right on schedule. Amy was able to quickly handle any issues as they popped up throughout the day and worked so closely and well with our planner (Jackie Fogartie, who I also highly recommend) as well as our other vendors.
Amy captured so many beautiful photos and honestly, taking pictures with my husband after our first look was one of my favorite parts of the day. I never knew taking photos could be so fun! Amy was amazing at capturing the most meaningful moments that go by so quickly and the smallest details of our day that I was too busy to notice at the time. I couldn’t be happier to to have such beautiful photos that so perfectly capture our whole day. Not only is Amy an amazing photographer, but she’s also a genuinely kind person. One memory we’ll always have from our wedding day is Amy giving my husband and I Swiftie-style friendship bracelets in our wedding colors. It was such a sweet gesture that we’ll always remember. If you’re getting married in the Charlotte area (or even outside the Charlotte area), I could not recommend Amy enough - working with her was absolutely one of the best decisions we made! -

I hired Amy as our wedding photography for our fall 2023 wedding. I chose her after being a bridesmaid in another wedding that she photographed. Once I saw her in action, I knew I had to hired her. She is organizing, flexible, honest and funny. She makes you and your groom comfortable in front of the camera. She gets all the photos you need in an efficient time frame. We were on a tight time schedule due to the impending rain, she got all the photos we asked for right before it stormed! Then she got creative with indoor photos. The engagement shoot before the wedding is great practice before the big day! She also sets up time with you before the wedding to talk through the photos you want and your wedding timeline. I felt confident once Amy arrived that everything would go smoothly and it did! We are so happy with all of our photos. I would highly recommend making the investment! -

Amy is amazing!!
Amy was truly such a pleasure to work with! We used her for our engagement photos, rehearsal dinner/welcome party, and our wedding day. Having a photographer who matches your vibe is so important since you spend so much time with them throughout the whole wedding day, and from the moment we met Amy I knew we'd be comfortable working with her. She is easy going yet gave direction when needed and kept us on track all throughout the day. We received an amazing HUGE collection of sneak peaks just after our wedding and then our full album only a month after! The photos are truly beautiful and couldn't recommend working with Amy enough!! -

Amy Kolo is the GOAT!
Where to start…… Amy is the most incredible photographer and captured our day PERFECTLY. From the very first call, I could tell she was highly organized and passionate about what she does. Her photography style is timeless and we were so shocked at how quickly she turned around out highlights and full album. Would hire her over again a million times if we could! We will cherish her pictures forever and can’t wait to get some printed to have around the house. And as a bonus, she got my husband to actually enjoy the picture taking process! She let us be us and that really showed through in the final product. We looked so happy and relaxed, exactly like we wanted to feel on our wedding day. I’ve gotten countless compliments from friends and family about her professionalism and how great the pictures turned out. Hire Amy!!!!!! -

Amy is a wonderful person that is wildly talented!
Amy was one of the best (if not THE best) decisions we made for our wedding day! Prior to our wedding, we had been to several weddings where Amy was the photographer and instantly connected with her. She is so personable and easy going! Her personality is radiant! I cannot express how important it is to have a photographer with a great personality. She is so easy to work with and truly listens to your "wants and needs" when it comes to engagement/wedding photos. Amy will make you feel so comfortable in front of the camera as well. I was worried my husband would have a hard time relaxing for photos, but by the end of our engagement shoot she made him feel like a model lol! We never felt awkward or uncomfortable through the "kissing candids" or dancing on the streets of Charleston! On top of her personality, her talent is truly A.MAZ.ING. We are beyond pleased with the way our engagement shoot and wedding photos turned out! We also did not make things easy for Amy, but she sure delivered. We had THREE different wedding dates between the years of 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19 postponements. Our priority when postponing was to be sure our "next date" was available to Amy. She HAD to be our photographer. Especially after falling in love with the photos from our engagement shoot. She always made us feel like we were a priority to her as well. When I was heartbroken by the first postponement, my husband planned a sweet dinner with both of our parents in our backyard on our original wedding date. He asked Amy if she could be there just to take a few pictures and she made it happen! It meant so much to us that she was able to do this on Saturday night. I have mentioned Amy is so sweet and lovely, however she also knows how to keep a rowdy wedding party in line for pictures too! This is important as groomsmen and bridesmaids are not so focused on pictures after hours and hours of drinking beforehand haha. She took charge on our wedding day and kept everybody in line so we could get all of the shots we had asked her for! After our wedding day, Amy worked quickly to get our pictures edited and we were able to get a “sneak peak” while on our honeymoon. This was so fun to see so quickly so we could continue reminiscing over our dream wedding day! As an added bonus, she was able to edit some photos at our request months after our wedding. We had two people from our wedding day that were having an affair… I know this sounds crazy. We were devastated. One of the two was a bridesmaid. Sadly, this news came to light AFTER our wedding day and I felt as though many of our pictures were tainted by these two people. Amy was able to literally crop them from our pictures so we could still have pictures framed, posted, etc. She did this out of the kindness of her heart! No additional charge or anything. Again, this meant the world to us! She is a true gem and we feel so lucky to have had her as a part of our day! I could go on and on about Amy and how wonderful our pictures turned out, but unfortunately there is a word limit lol. We are just so grateful for Amy and all of her work she put into our wedding. All you need to know is that she is a wonderful person who is wildly talented and you will not regret choosing her for your wedding day :) -

I was very particular about choosing a photographer because of how much time is spent with them on your wedding day. After an introductory phone call with Amy, I knew it was a great fit! Her personality is joyful, funny, and encouraging -- exactly what you want on your big day! We are not professional models by any means, and Amy put as at ease and made us feels comfortable being photographed all day. Amy and her assistant are incredibly professional but still very warm.
We went over a very detailed shot list for family and bridal party pictures, and Amy created a detailed schedule/timeline. This made the photos run so smoothly and we were never rushed or stressed! Amy also worked so well with my wedding planner to mesh their day-of timelines.
I cannot say enough good things about the experience. Amy is incredibly talented and has an eye for detail. We are THRILLED with our photos. They are true heirlooms. I wanted timeless wedding pictures and that is exactly what we got. Such a gift. Thank you seems inadequate!! -

Amy went above and beyond for us. We were able to split up our photo time into a separate portrait session early in the wedding week in addition to the actual wedding photos. She was willing to travel to make that happen for us. She was super committed to helping us feel comfortable and our most beautiful and handsome! It was such a fun experience for my husband and I-- two people who are 100% not photogenic and hate taking photos. Felt like having a friend help us celebrate. But don't let that detract from Amy's level of professionalism and skill! It was so cool to watch her in her element. She caught almost everything on digital and film and was constantly metering the light. I was so impressed with her organization when it came to all the family group photos as well. It's only been a week since our wedding, but the few photos Amy has shown us are simply amazing. Natural, beautiful, fun, and true to us. We look like our best human selves, not wedding robots :) -

Joe and I cannot thank Amy enough for capturing our wedding day! Leading up to our wedding day she was available 24/7 and flexible in the setting of COVID-19 changes. On the day of our wedding, Amy was an amazing positive energy. She was creative in the setting of rain and captured every beautiful/ memorable moment and more. The most exciting part was receiving sneak peek photos less than a week after our wedding that were perfectly edited and top-notch quality. Amy surprised us again with our entire gallery less than 3 weeks after the wedding, which was comprehensive and of the highest quality. Working with Amy and her team was an amazing experience and we are so excited to have beautiful pictures that will last a lifetime! -

Amy was wonderful! We could not have asked for a better photographer to capture our special day. Amy was super easy to get along with, attentive, and organized. She also did a great job with the toddlers at our wedding. With the pandemic going on, Amy was respectful and followed all precautions to ensure safety for our guests and herself. We look forward to working with her again when we are able to celebrate our marriage with our family and friends! -

Amy is an absolute gem to work with!! We first met Amy during our engagement photo shoot in Annapolis, MD. She took time out of her vacation to make our engagement shoot convenient for us, as we live in the northern Virginia area. Since then, I've considered Amy a good friend. She was so nice and easy to work with, as her subjects weren't professionals. We didn't know what we were doing!! She gave us great direction without making us feel like we were totally incompetent. And the pictures turned out absolutely perfect. I'm not into the edited photos where they don't even look like the same people, Amy works with the natural light to make us look great, but still ourselves! I really enjoyed working with Amy over the past year and can't speak highly enough about her!! -

Photography was one of the most important decisions for me as soon as I started planning my wedding. I was essentially referred to Amy through a friend and reached out to her almost immediately after looking through the open galleries on her website. It didn't take long to learn that, beyond her gift with a camera, she is a pure joy to work with as a person. She is always prompt in her response, offers helpful feedback and ideas when asked, finds the fun in every session, and ultimately never made me feel like I was simply a client. Throughout every session, Amy did such a great job helping me (and my fiance) feel relaxed and not pressed for time so that we didn't leave without everything I had in mind. Our friends and family haven't stopped talking about how great our photos are. We are in love with our engagement session, bridal portraits, and wedding day galleries!! -

Amy captured such wonderful memories that we are going to cherish forever, both wedding and engagement photos. I’m so excited and impressed with our pictures. Her work is incrediable! She is professional and extremely flexible. We ended up with over 1200 photos for our wedding. All of them amazing! My favorite picture of all is the one she captured of my husband when he first saw me. She was easy to get in touch with and was very helpful through out our wedding process. All of my family and friends are raving about how beautiful our pictures are. I highly recommend Sunshower Photography to everybody! I plan to have Amy do my maternity pictures in the near future!! Bethany Sent on 04/26/2015Amy was our wedding photographer for destination beach wedding in Hilton Head, SC. She did such an incredible job! She has a very artistic eye and is able to execute her vision with top of the line camera equipment and deliver a very professional final product. I knew the first time I saw her photography that I wanted her to photograph my wedding and she did a fantastic job. We did our "Engagement Shoot" the day before the wedding in Hilton head….Amy had done research of nearby places that we could shoot at and provided me with many options and ideas. This was extremely helpful since I had so many things going on with planning the wedding. The day of the wedding, Amy arrived on time with her assistant, she was extremely reliable, she captured every important moment of the wedding and even got some very special shots that I saw once we received our photos. Capturing the "in the moment" shots are important but capturing them in an artistic way just takes images to the next level and Amy definitely took our photos to the next level! Her turn around time with providing final images was very quick which every bride/groom hopes for! I highly recommend Sunshower Photography!
