We recently got married at Sunset Beach Resort- you could not ask for a more beautiful venue on the beach!! It's quaint, gorgeous & so photogenic. All of my guests were blown away by the gardens & of course the view! We had a "micro-wedding" of 15 guests, the ceremony was on the beach in front of the resort, cocktails & drinks at the resort after. The unit we rented was also light, bright & beach-cottage chic which makes for the perfect getting ready photos. Chelly was fantastic, we were made to feel right at home and everything went smoothly. We could not have asked for a more perfect venue and day. Choosing a venue that's beautiful so that you don't have to work hard to make it beautiful is the way to go

Stunning, Amazing, all I could hope and dream of!

My husband and I have been traveling to Siesta Key a few years - and once we were engaged, we knew it was where we wanted to celebrate our wedding with our family & friends. I searched for a venue that would allow us to have a beach ceremony and outdoor reception on Siesta Key and Sunset Beach Resort immediately popped up! We went to tour the property, and signed within 5 minutes. I emailed back and forth with Chelly A LOT - and she was always so quick to respond and super helpful with all of my questions. She was very accommodating with all of the reservations and recommended a lot of vendors that we ended up working with! I planned the wedding from Michigan and working with Chelly always put me at ease. Once we were there, the staff kept the property nice and clean - and Shiela was amazing to work with on our reservations. The actual property is beautiful by itself - but once it was transformed into a ceremony and reception space, it was amazing! It allowed us to have the perfect party in the perfect FL weather. (PS. The staircase is to die for!). Highly highly recommend!

Sunset Beach Resort on Siesta Key was the first place we visited while shopping around for a venue. We never looked back. The place was immaculate and the natural beauty of the location necessitated very little for decoration. Chelly, Sheila and Billy were unbelievable hosts who also grew up in the home that has been converted to this amazing Resort on a private stretch of pristine white sand. They made sure that everything was perfect for our big day. I can’t speak highly enough about the immaculate rooms. Everything was so clean and fresh with the most beautiful decor. It played a large role in our photography. If you are looking for a destination wedding that is in paradise look no further. This place is amazing. We have already reserved for our anniversary next year! I can’t wait!

Our wedding day was a dream. Honestly, the venue was the top priority- next to photography and video, the location was the most important part for me. A friend of mine had stayed at Sunset Beach Resort and told me to look into it for my wedding. I am so grateful because it was the best decision we made! There is NO place like this for a wedding. The setting is a family estate that has been owned by the same family since the 1940’s. Six units all together on a private beach. The owners are available every step of the way and couldn’t be nicer to work with.

Our wedding had the best of it all - the event was a blast and the stay was a vacation/honeymoon that was the talk of all our friends and family. Sunset Beach Resort was amazing. The location can’t be topped. It’s literally paradise. The owners were very accommodating and so knowledgeable. Most importantly the day was very relaxing and so much fun!

Siesta Key is a very a special place for my wife and I, and when we decided that we wanted to get married there, Sunset Beach Resort was the only natural choice. Besides the absolutely stunning setting and white sand perfect for a beach wedding, the property itself has been owned and operated by the same family for several generations and has a homely vibe like no other place in the surrounding Gulf Coast. It is set back just off the beach as well and at a location on the very north end of Siesta Key that offers both privacy and convenience being just a three minute walk to Ocean Drive in the heart of Siesta Key Village!

Sisters Chelly and Sheila were also very accommodating, responsive, attentive and thoughtful in ensuring that our wedding weekend was as spectacular as can be without any hitches.

The property has three buildings with six unique apartments with a total of 14 different bedrooms. We turned our wedding into an extended vacation for our 90 guests (30 of whom stayed at SBR, and the most of the rest of which stayed within two minutes walking distance), which enabled us to spend quality time with each and every one of them. For couples considering this property, we suggest Thursday "Bachelor(ette)" activities to encourage guests to come down sooner and spend more time together!

The venue was also very accommodating to our vendors, most of whom had worked there previously and were familiar with its intricacies. Our only other strong suggestion is that couples seriously consider a 30'x80' tent rental for the large grassy area where the reception takes place. We didn't consider it until the week of, but were glad that we did it despite no rain and mostly temperate weather in the evening -- US Tent does a fantastic job with lighting it as well, and having the walls in case of wind is a good option.

We can't wait to return in the future and highly recommend this location for wedding our other large events!

Our wedding was a perfect combination of beach magic and family memories thanks to the Sunset Beach Resort. Chelly and Sheila were amazing to work with through the planning process and made sure that our event was perfect.

We planned our wedding to be a family getaway since the majority of our guests were visiting from out of town. Even though we live in Florida, we really wanted a venue that would allow people to enjoy a beach vacation along with our event and Siesta Key was the perfect location. Most of our guests stayed within walking distance of the village area and the venue and that allowed us to spend even more time with everyone that came in town.

We rented the entire property and used one house for the Groom and his Groomsmen and the rest of the property for the Bride's family and Bridesmaids. It was such a fun time to be together for the week and we were able to do a pre-wedding casual bonfire evening a few days before the wedding and catch up with guests as they arrived. We also planned our rehearsal within walking distance of the house and that allowed us to spend even more time with everyone that came in to visit. The location is perfect for guests to have time to walk around an enjoy the village and we found that many of our family members and old and new friends found opportunities to connect at various venues around town.

Our ceremony could not have been more amazing - the beach location is beautiful and having private access to the beach allowed us to get great video and photos without the distraction of other beach-goers. For our reception we transformed the yard into a perfect open air party with glittering market lights that our guests absolutely loved.

The house itself is amazingly comfortable and well kept by the owners who made themselves available for anything we might need during our visit as well as two visits during our planning process. We felt very comfortable with everything from the booking and payment process to the actual event and it was nice knowing that someone was nearby that could be available for anything if needed - although everything was so perfect we never needed to call them!

I would 100% recommend this venue - we can't wait to go back again and celebrate our future anniversaries!

We got married at Sunset Beach Resort in August of 2018 and we're still getting compliments on our wedding a year later! If you are looking for a unique and cozy wedding, this is the place to do it at. Sunset Beach Resort offers you a blank canvas for your wedding. They have a few rules but because they don't have an in house bar or catering, you can truly customize the wedding and the experience to whatever you want. Also, the place has the perfect location. It is on the beach and guests that don't fit there can stay at the hotels right next door, which is also next to the village where all of the bars and restaurant are. This allows people to come in and out easily since they won't need a car once they arrive. All of this infrastructure allows for your guests to have a relaxing beach weekend and because you have the entire hotel to yourself it gives you privacy to have more events the other days you are renting there. Our wedding turned out to be a long weekend of hanging out with our family and friends in a relaxed environment and we got to really enjoy use of the property. We just went back for our 1 year anniversary but I'm hoping I can rent it all out again in the future!

We stayed here when my fiance proposed and learned they hosted weddings too. We knew right away this was the place. Chelly, Sheila, and Billy, owners of the Sunset Beach Resort Siesta Key are some of the best host ever. They took special care that our wedding week expectations were met on all fronts for both me and my new husband as well as all our friends and family that stayed on the property with us. Their resort is the absolute best place to have not only your wedding ceremony but the wedding reception too, right there on the property. Each unit has its own special feel and amazing views of the beach, which is literally feet away. The property is so well maintained and they keep it up on a daily basis. They are always just a phone call away to answer any questions you may have. If your getting married on the beach, there is no better location, then Sunset Beach Resort Siesta Key. You wont be disappointed and you and your guest will be raving about it. We highly recommend it without reservation.

Our wedding was an absolute dream. Every single person was so incredibly helpful, responsive and easy to work with. Our rooms were IMPECCABLY clean, beautifully decorated and of course, steps from the beach. I want to keep this hidden gem all to myself, but I also want to shout from the mountaintops about how incredible this place is. Seriously, perfect isn't a big enough word to cover it. Do yourself a favor and book here for a small, intimate wedding that your guests will be talking about for years to come!

After diligently researching every beach wedding venue within a 2-hour drive of Tampa, we came across Sunset Beach Resort Siesta Key and knew we had found our dream wedding location. No other venue came close to offering everything we needed: capacity for 200+ guests, lodging for our entire wedding party (14 couples), an 80-room bungalow-style hotel across the street for our out-of-town guests, hassle-free parking, the flexibility to bring in our own booze, bartender and caterers (perfect venue for food trucks!) saving us a ton of money, and to decorate as we pleased (hello vintage sofas, farm tables and whiskey barrel cocktail tables :)), the cutest little beach town within walking distance for the after party and for out-of-town guests to enjoy a true Florida vacation,… and all of this on the #1 beach in the US! Chelly and Sheila were the most gracious hosts you could hope for, pretty much saying yes to all of my unusual requests, things a stuffy hotel would not have allowed; plus the beach is private so no permits were needed... all things you have to worry about pretty much everywhere else. To top it off, we could not have been luckier with the weather in early December - lows of 70 and highs of 80 all week! Thank you Chelly and Sheila for giving me the fairytale wedding I had always dreamed of!

I got married to my amazing husband at Sunset Beach Resort in November 2017. It was the perfect venue for our wedding. We were able to come and stay at the resort the week before the wedding to decorate, prepare, and finalize plans for our destination wedding. The venue was amazing. We got married on the beach, which they blocked off the morning of the wedding, and had our reception on the lawn. We strung lights over the lawn and around the trees which made it even more magical. My family and friends were able to stay on site and enjoy the beautiful beach and ocean while also helping us celebrate our day. The owner's of Sunset Beach Resort were so helpful throughout our planning process. They gave recommendations and everything we needed was there and ready for us when we showed up. I hope to eventually come back to Sunset Beach Resort with my family. It is the perfect location for family or friends to all enjoy each other. Everyone has their own space in their rooms, but the common areas are perfect for little ones who want to play outside or older ones who want to relax and watch the sunset. If you're thinking of having your wedding here, do it. It's worth it!

We found this venue online, checked it out, & put our deposit down on the spot. It’s everything we wanted & more. Our family & friends had the most incredible 5 days at Sunset Beach Resort! Everyone is still talking about it 2 months later. If you want a beach wedding this is the best place to do it...guaranteed! Thanks Sunset Beach Resort for memories that we will never forget!

What can I say, we had our dream wedding here. Chelly worked with us from the very beginning and welcomed us when we arrived like we WERE family! Our family and wedding guests had a time of our lives and have made it a tradition to vacation at our now home away from home at Sunset Beach Resort on our wedding anniversary. You will never find a family who will treat you better and help you as you prepare for your big day.

We had our wedding here on 11/1/14. These beach houses are fantastic for a wedding! Directly on the beach, so perfect location! Great outside areas for cocktail hour and reception. And the owners are great to work with, and very helpful! Our wedding turned out to be so beautiful, we are very happy with our decision not to do it at a resort/hotel.

Our wedding was beyond perfect. This location was amazing. We stayed in the four-bedroom pool home for 6 nights before, during and after the wedding with our families. We also had the two one-bedroom units, which we loved as well. Chelly and her father William were super helpful and reserving beach-front space in front of the home for the ceremony. The large lawn, fire pit and plenty of outdoor seating was exactly what we wanted/needed for our casual, intimate wedding. The house had everything we needed and the pictures and memories we will never forget.

When I began my search for a venue in Florida, none of the banquet halls, hotels or golf courses could satisfy me. Felt silly going to Florida and not having it on the beach. It was also important that I found a rental house for the families to have an awesome vacation. If you feel the same way, then look no more! You need to stay at this house, right on the beach, and have your wedding in the same location. Take the risk of an outdoor wedding! Our stay was not only amazing - updated units, plenty of separate space and in the perfect location for the village - but our wedding was beautiful! The property is kept so clean and landscaping is on point. Your decor can be so minimal because everyone’s just looking at the beach and trees! Many outdoor seating areas, especially shaded spots. We worked with Sarasota Catering Company and had all food and rentals set up with ease. From the first phone call, the owners answered any questions and were sooo nice. We got to visit the site with ease and I always felt so welcomed. Super accommodating from the start, all the way to allowing a bit of a late check out because of a flat tire! So many people asked how I found this place, and I’m so happy I came upon it!

Beautiful Beach Houses right on Siesta Key beach! Great venue for wedding and reception. Had the wedding of my dreams here! Love the place and staff!

My daughter had her wedding on the property and it was absolutely perfect. Kept our fingers crossed for the weather... which of course, no one has control over... the rain held off and it was amazing...

Attempted to reach this vendor several times prior to visiting their location but was unsuccessful. We tried messaging via wedding wire, email and by phone with no type of response. After we went in person there was no office and the place looks a bit rundown. After speaking with a couple of guest there we determined it was more like an Airbnb setup. The guest also told use they had difficulty contacting someone who manages the property. When we were finally able to reach someone on a GoogleVoice number the guy who answered was not very helpful, short & vague with his response, seemed bothered and uninterested when inquiring about trying to arranged a future stay/event. This listing on WeddingWire must be old because it doesn’t match what we have experienced. The last review was back in 2021.
