We got married in Long Beach, CA on 10/12/24 and all of our guests said Summit's food was THE BEST they had ever been served at wedding! I cannot recommend Summit Event Catering more! Pamela Aki especially was fantastic to work with. We chose the plated option for a guest count of just under 160 guests. We found the prices to be reasonable as compared to other vendors, and the quality of the menu, ingredients, and overall taste to be outstanding! Additionally, Summit allowed us to make several reasonable alterations to our chosen package, which we were really grateful for, due to several guest allergies, etc! Pam was incredibly communicative throughout our entire working relationship and we are so grateful. She made the process so easy! On our wedding day, everything went smoothly and the Summit staff was fantastic. We look back at the catering portion of our wedding with fond memories. Thank you Summit & Pam! -

Our wedding coordinator from Modern LA Weddings highly recommended this vendor. We met with Veronica who is so fun and has so many wonderful food ideas. Food genuinely excites these people! You get the sense that they truly want to bring out the best food regardless of your style. They can do it all! We had them do a plated dinner with 6 tray-passed hors d'ouevres. They were so easy to work with and let us try so many different items before making our decision. They also were very flexible with the logistics since we had to change our wedding venue due to Covid and hosted the wedding in my parent's backyard. I was nervous about how food would turn out coming out of a mobile kitchen but it was still incredible. To this day I get compliments on how good the food was! It's not something you hear very often from wedding guests. -

Summit Event Catering was the best caterer for our event! We worked with Debbie and she was an absolute sweetheart. The food was delicious and all of our guests left very happy and full! From the appetizers to the main dishes, everything was absolutely perfect. We know we can count on them for any future events! -

Summit will not disappoint!!!
I hired Summit for my black tie wedding in Palm Springs. We drove to Orange county for a tasting and we knew they were the company for us right away. The food was delicious and the staff was warm, friendly, and organized!
Pam, our event coordinator, was awesome! She was always available for a quick phone call for questions. She even drove out to Palm Springs to check out the venue before our big day to make sure everything went smoothly.
SO many of our guests talked about how much they loved the food!
Presentation was lovely and price was very reasonable. Everything went perfectly as planned.
I would 1000% recommend Summit. -

We learned about Summit Event Catering from our good friend, who also used them for her wedding. The company - and Pamela (who we directly worked with) - blew us away. Pamela was absolutely wonderful throughout the entire process. She was clearly knowledgeable and truly cared for us as a couple, ensuring that we knew all our options, saving us money where she could, and sharing tidbits of advice from her many years in this industry. Multiple times she eased our concerns, especially my wife whose anxiety was through the roof many times over in this process. Although initially hard to schedule (given we were living across the country), the taste testing was phenomenal and gave a great view of what to expect at the wedding.
The day of the event also went incredibly well. Our guest were taken care of and loved the amazing food. I assure you nobody went hungry. The staff was also very professional and really made our wife and I feel special throughout the night. There is no doubt that Summit Event Catering has ample experience in this industry. We have recommended them to our friends and family. -

Debbie and team were amazing! It was clear how much experience they had. She was organized and easy to communicate with pre-wedding. When we were doing photos (during cocktail hour), the staff was constantly checking on the bridal party to make sure we had something to eat. Especially one of the servers, Hannah! She was always going out of her way to make sure that I was fed. Couldn't have appreciated her more. During the reception, service continued to be fantastic -- people loved the late-night snacks of fries! Thank you to the team for contributing to such an unforgettable night!

You can tell she has years of experience and helped make the process smooth and easy. The food at our wedding was amazing! I had nothing but good feedback from my guests. They loved our food! As a foodie myself, food is something I want my guests to remember when they think about my wedding and Summit Catering Events pulled it off. I am so happy that I chose them over all the other caterers out there. Danelle Sent on 08/16/2014Pamela Aki and her staff were excellent. They were professional and courteous. They catered to the needs of the bride and groom and all of their guests. The meal production was orchestrated in a timely manner.
Food is an important part of a celebration. The meal was delicious and the dessert was out of this world. Many of the guests inquired who the caterer was!!
The company was very easy to work with and accommodated our needs. We highly recommend Summit Event Catering for any catered event. -

Jessica Sent on 06/09/2012Wowww where do we start ok we had the most amazing wedding one could ever imagine and we could not have done it without Pam and her amazing staff.
I had been planning my wedding from age 7 probably therefore I knew what I wanted and was picky. Pam was amazing she gave me everything I requested and worked in our budget to tweak things around so we could all still be happy. She helped us through everything even referred us to helpful key people.
The food was good we had the Mahi Mahi sit down dinner with baby vegetables and Island rice since it was overlooking the beach it was great. Our guest loved the food my mom loved the food which is great. I have nothing to say but thank you sooo much Pam for all your hard work and for such great service we definitely hope to use your services again we love you! -

Andrea Sent on 08/25/2011Pam Aki and Summit was the best Vendor/Caterer to work with. They are very professional and organized. Pam was such a help to me with issues that came up and also working with me on some extra linens I rented from a company out of state. She was always available for me when I needed her and she was very responsive via phone or e-mail.
At my initial tasting I knew I wanted to go with Summit Catering and when I saw how flexible they are with working around your budget and helping you keep within your budget that was an even bigger plus.
For rentals and a bar company they use outside companies so the only downfall is you have to pay those companies so it just makes it a little more difficult having to deal with 2 extra vendors as opposed to having it all in one through Summit. But both companies Signature(Rentals) and Sunseris(Bar Company) were both very professional as well and also worked with us on our budget.
I have had so many compliments on how professional the servers/bartenders were and how wonderful the food tasted from the salad, to the carved beef and mashed potatoes all the way to the tray passed hors d'oeuvres and the veggie and cheese display.
I would definitely recommend Pam Aki and Summit Catering for your wedding!

And we truly couldn't have done it without the help of Veronica Medrano. She went above and beyond for us: from organizing our wedding party at our rehearsal to helping my sister with the corset on my dress! We had SO many compliments on the food, the service was amazing and Veronica worked to make sure we kept the cost down. We even had a guest tell us they were going to call her to do their wedding! There are no words to express our gratitude towards Veronica and Summit Event Catering. My advice to future brides is to call Veronica! I will be calling her for all of our future events! -

The food was amazing, perfectly cooked and juicy steaks and customized to match exactly what we were looking for. (and I'm a judgemental taster...) And just as importantly, a very good value. Service at our event was very professional and friendly, and they worked hard to keep us on our timeline.
We talked with a lot if caterers in the area and this was the only one to really listen to us, our requests, and pull together a menu and service that we felt was ours. Veronica went above and beyond to make it all work, and was such a sweetheart through the whole process!
For a business that does such large and prestigious events, it's a very pleasant surprise to be treated with as much individualized attention as we got. They're a very busy group, but still somehow manage to make everyone feel like their event is important.
Excellent food, individualized service, and a pleasure to work with. I would use them again in a heartbeat. -

Stacy Sent on 06/30/2009I hired Summit for my wedding reception back in June 6, 2009. From start to finish, my experience with Summit is nothing short of amazing. They are very responsive, nice to deal with, and they did a fantastic job on my wedding.
Pros:
The staff are very friendly and professional
The food is one of the best that I have tasted at a wedding
They are very flexible and can accommodate your requests for different things that you want to add in your menu
The setup and decor they had at my wedding was beautiful
They were able to work with my fiance and I regarding the budget and figure things out
Stress free planning and wedding day reception knowing that Summit will take care of your event without a glitch.

None. Seriously, I can't think of any!
Overall, I was very very happy with the service I was provided with from the Summit. My husband and I were able to really relax and have fun at the wedding reception knowing that our wedding was in good hands. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. -

Summit Catering was awesome! The food at our wedding was so delicious- we especially received so many compliments about the apps. From the apps, to the full plated meal to the customer service, everything was top notch! Also this is the only place that is fair in their pricing during our search and on top of that after going to the tasting, it was hands down an easy choice! All food they create is amazingly delicious! -

Looking back at the wedding planning events, my husband's favorite part was attending their tasting! Their food was great! We loved their coconut shrimp and avocado egg rolls. We had a simple menu (see photo) We had Chicken Piccata and Au Gratin. The only complaint I have was... when the bridal party left to take photos, we came back hungry because they FORGOT to give us and the bridal party appetizers. I was so hungry, I almost cried... I was REALLY looking forward to the appetizers! They gave us some of the chicken tenders off the kids menu to hold us over until dinner. I did get a call from the manager after the event, about how this is rare and doesn't ever happen... but it did :( Other than that, our guests loved the food! -

She was willing to work with me and my every request. Every single guest told me how wonderful the food was! My husband and I thought it tasted better than we remembered at our tasting. Pam made me feel stress free throughout the whole process and i never had to worry about how things were going on the day of my wedding. It was perfect! -

Although some of the things we requested during the tasting were not executed on the actual wedding day, the food was beyond yummy and all of my guests were happy and full. The staff was presentable and on hand at all times. As far as I knew everything went really well! -

Marissa Sent on 06/06/2018I worked with Pam and she was super responsive, fast, detailed and willing to work with my limited budget and must-have menu items. The planning process went very smoothly and I trusted them to deliver for my big day. Also, the free tasting was not only convenient but amazing! My husband and I were a bit surprised that Pam didn't come to our event because we recalled her telling us that she would be present to ensure that all of the details were worked out on the day of. The food turned out to be quite tasty and we received quite a few compliments on it! There were a couple of minor details that didn't work out perfectly on our wedding day (I'm sure all weddings have minor issues). Summit had offered to provide table numbers free of charge and I guess these were forgotten because our guests were confused where their tables were (we had assigned seating). Also, Summit offered to assist with the toast for free which could be interpreted many ways but basically our bartenders poured all of the glasses of champagne and they were never passed out for the toast. I'm not sure if this was the fault of the DJ/MC for rushing to do the toast earlier than anticipated but either way, none of our guests had champagne for the toast unless they went to pick it up themselves from the bar. Summit also coordinated for our reception rentals through their event rental company. The rentals were such a good deal! However, they didn't quite "deliver". We picked up our tablecloths the day before so that we could do a portion of the setup ourselves but they forgot 4 of them so we weren't able to set those tables in advance (Summit made sure to handle day of so it worked out). Also, the cocktail tables we rented were wobbly so we were unable to set those in advance as well but Summit replaced on the day of. I appreciate that Summit provided us with amazing food and good service on my wedding day and I was able to be at ease and trust them! I would recommend! -
