We cannot recommend this venue enough!

It was the very first — and only — place we toured. Even after researching other options, we kept comparing everything back to this one, and nothing else came close. We are so glad we trusted our hearts and chose this venue.

From the very beginning, the service was exceptional. We booked all the houses on the property, which allowed our entire family to stay together for the whole weekend — and that alone made the experience unforgettable. Sharing the laughter, excitement, and quiet moments leading up to the big day with everyone in one place was so incredibly special.

The catering was absolutely phenomenal — our guests are still raving about how amazing the food was! And we can’t say enough wonderful things about our Wedding Coordinator, Taylor. She truly went above and beyond, making sure every detail reflected who we are as a couple. She handled everything — from the rehearsal to the ceremony to the reception — with care, grace, and expertise, managing all of our outside vendors seamlessly.

The property itself is breathtaking, with beautiful spots everywhere you turn. This venue gave us the wedding weekend of our dreams, and we will forever be grateful. If you’re considering this place, don’t hesitate — you will not regret it!

Magical Wedding Day

Magical wedding day from start to finish! The food, venue, and cabins were all perfect!

In addition to booking the venue, we used their largest coordination package and we blocked off the cottages for our guests and ourselves, both of which I highly recommend.

It was great to wake up at the venue with the bridal party and other family members already on site. That extra privacy made the day feel extra special. Everyone raved about their adorable historic cabins and some of the spouses took time to explore the grounds/battlefield on the morning of the wedding. It was also helpful that people were able to pop in to the getting ready space and go back to their own cabin throughout the day.

Taylor and Jennifer also did a great job helping us with coordinating beforehand and were very accommodating of all our requests. It was wonderful having a coordinator who worked at the venue since they have seen it all when it comes to how people decorate and lay things out, so they’re familiar with what works well in the space, they knew many of the vendors well, and they worked hard to make sure our vision came to life. It was also nice knowing a capable team was there the morning of to greet our vendors and do the clean up. Taylor also made sure we enjoyed the amazing cocktail hour and dinner. She ushered us to a private cocktail hour she had set up before we greeted our guests and then brought us our food as dinner started. I’m the only bride I know of who actually got to enjoy her food on her wedding day.

The chef took great care in helping us craft the menu and the food was a hit—everyone especially raved about the Oysters Rockefeller. They also did an excellent job accommodating food preferences and it was a flavorful and memorable meal.

Having the food, coordination, and venue with one team also made the wedding planning process much smoother. It was a relief to consolidate some of the process.

They are two for two on creating perfect days as my sister got married there several years ago. I assumed I had to get my “own” venue but everywhere else paled in comparison to value, privacy, and delicious food.
The beautiful location is matched by a capable team, so look no further for your perfect venue!

Staff’s and Management’s are nice

Absolutely Amazing

My husband and I live in the UK, but wanted to have our wedding in VA, which is where I am from. My mom and sister went to the Stevenson Ridge wedding fair on our behalf and were impressed so we booked it. Marc and I couldn’t have been more impressed by Jennifer and the help she gave us throughout the planning through to our big day. We decided at the 11th hour to move our wedding inside because of the heat and she handled everything for us and made everything ok! All of our guests commented on how lovely the venue was and we feel like we had the wedding of our dreams! We had our rehearsal dinner at the Riddick House and reserved all of the properties for our bridal party and family. We are so happy that we made the best choice in choosing Stevenson Ridge as our wedding venue!

October Wedding

We held our wedding reception at Stevenson Ridge in October 2022 and could not have asked for anything more amazing! We rented two cabins for our bridesmaids and groomsmen to get ready in which was a very nice addition to the celebrations. Everyone we worked with was incredible - from signing the initial contract, to picking out our decorations and setup, to the incredibly delicious food! Would 100% recommend!

Romantic ~ Rustic ~ Beautiful

My husband and I got married in December of 2022 and could not have been happier with the over all service, staff and venue of Stevenson Ridge. From our first appointment to view the venue to our wedding day, Jennifer and her crew made our day as well as our weekend wedding stay above our expectations. If you are looking for a beautiful, quiet & rustic place, Stevenson Ridge is it! I could not believe such a place like this was right in town here in Spotsylvania. The food is phenomenal and they have so much to create a menu with, the list of vendors to help add extra flare to your wedding is a mile long (we added the photo booth which is HIGHLY recommended and super fun as well as sparklers at the end of our night). We also stayed both weekend nights at the Bedford cabin where I chose to get ready with my Bridesmaids and there was so much room to do so as well as it was very cozy with the wood fireplace and rather large kitchen/bathroom space. I cannot wait to spend our year anniversary here again in December.

This venue is AMAZING !

Stevenson Ridge was so amazing as a venue as well has helping prep! Jennifer was very attentive and made sure I was right on track! Their food is phenomenal and the customer service was even better! I would recommend this venue to anyone getting married! Everything about this place was PERFECT.

Made My Day the Best Day Ever

I have so much love for Stevenson Ridge and all the amazing people that work there! My husband and I got married there in December 2019. The entire planning process was so easy with the help of everyone there. Although you have to use their catering for food and drink it was not overpriced and the food and service was incredible! They were able to for fill all my wishes for food, drinks, set up, and accommodations for our stay on the property. My entire wedding day everyone there made me feel like a princess. I didn’t have to lift a finger! I can’t thank everyone enough including Kellyn and Nikki for all there help and making my wedding day the most incredible day ever

Awesome Venue

Stevenson Ridge was AMAZING!! First of all the property was beautiful! Second, Nikki and catering manger and Cassandra (wedding coordinator) were awesome to work with. They were responsive and attentive! We have a lot of food allergies for our guests that attended the wedding and Nikki was more than willing to work with us to find a menu that was perfect. Cassandra (sadly no longer there) was great also! She was organized and kept my large loud family on track! Also, we had an issue with a bus not showing up with guests, Cassandra immediately started figuring it out and got my guests to the venue without me even knowing that day!

Experience of a Lifetime

We searched within a 2 hour radius of our home for the perfect wedding venue for our daughter's wedding and didn't expect to find it in our own backyard. When our daughter and son-in-law walked in to Stevenson Ridge their eyes lit up. They asked us to cancel all other site visits because they had found the place where they wanted to be married. Gorgeous scenery, beautiful accommodations on property, and a first class staff made their special day one to remember. We rented the Riddick House and could not have selected a more elegant home for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready. Lighting and space for hair and make-up was a stylist's dream. Friends and family rented the Corn Crib, Civil War House, and Log Cabin and all were thrilled with the accommodations and excellent proximity to the celebration. Jennifer and her team were amazing, they consulted with us, made recommendations, adjusted menus to our desires and handled everything on the 'day of' so that the MOB could enjoy her guests. We could not have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend Jennifer and her team at Stevenson Ridge.

Best wedding ever

My fiance and I fell in love with Stevenson Ridge the SECOND we walked in there! Talk about a gorgeous, elegant venue, with a rustic and historical touch! We had a great time working with the staff throughout the year-- from picking our meals and drinks, to attending the food and wine tastings! It was a blast and the staff made the wedding planning process fun!!!!! The cabins were AMAZING and one of our favorite things about having the wedding there. It was so special to have so many people right there on the property. The food was excellent from start to finish. We also had our rehearsal dinner at the Riddick House-- amazing space and amazing service. AH it was just perfect and magical from start to finish. WE LOVED working with Cassandra, she is a rock star and a true gem. She was always always always there for me for all things and is a bright light! THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perfect wedding venue and lodging for wedding party or guests.

From the minute my wife and I step foot on this property we knew this was the place we were gonna get married. The staff and Chefs were absolutely amazing... The property with all the cabins served our lodging needs for the weekend and all the guests loved every minute of this very unique property. It truly was the perfect wedding weekend and a Lauren and I will never forget that weekend. Thank you so much Stevenson Ridge you guys are truly amazing!

Best venue ever

Where do I begin??!?! Stevenson Ridge was the last venue we toured. We immediately fell in love with the place. It had SO many options. Indoor & outdoor ceremony spots. BEAUTIFUL second location for Rehearsal dinners/post wedding brunches (which we did both). All the cabins on site made it SO easy for the bridal party & parents of both bride and groom to be on site the entire time. All of my guests said that my wedding was the BEST wedding they had ever been too. (of course because we know how to throw a party) but of course it had a LOT to do with the venue itself. I could go on forever about how gorgeous the venue is. But the most important part of the venue was my coordinator Elizabeth. Can we say she was literally perfect? Because, she was. As many times as I emailed/called her during my 1.5 year engagement, she ALWAYS answered me in a timely manner. She was seriously the best part of this venue. Also, when I saw my reception for the first time…ya’ll…. She literally made my dream come true. Lets not forget the kitchen chef’s. The food was to DIE FOR. All weekend long from the rehearsal dinner, multiple brunches, cocktail hour food & the dinner. Like come on, how does a venue have an onsite caterer taste THAT DARN GOOD. Anyway, I will stop rambling…This venue & the people who work for it, was the best decision I made when wedding planning.

We had an amazing experience. The venue was magical. The wedding planners were professional and responsive to our needs. Our hearts are full with so much gratitude for all they have done. Elizabeth and the rest of the staff at Stevenson Ridge are absolutely amazing. I had a huge hiccup on the day of my wedding when the florist did not show up. I thought my bridesmaids and I would have to walk down the aisle without flowers. I wasn’t as worried about the decorating flowers as my ceremony was inside and it is absolutely beautiful on its own but my florist was also suppose to bring the center pieces. I had come to terms with this by the time I showed up to the lodge right before the ceremony, only to find Elizabeth and another coordinator hard at work making me a bouquet from a combination of fake flowers they had and flowers left behind from a previous wedding! I was even more impressed when I was walking down the aisle and found lanterns and other decorations above the fireplace that were stunning. They were able to pull together simple but beautiful centerpieces as well! My guests had no idea the florist never showed. Unbelievable staff and amazing venue. I don’t have anything negative to say and would recommend them to any bride to be!

The folks at Stevenson's Ridge did an outstanding job to ensure my daughters wedding was memorable, beautiful and stress free. Elizabeth was amazing, she took care of every detail so that we would have no worries on my daughters big day. I absolutely LOVED having my wedding at Stevenson Ridge and I truly believe my wedding wouldn't have been as wonderful anywhere else. Some of the key highlights for me:

1. The property - This place was the cutest! There is so much history and all of the cabins were decorated so cool. We ended up renting out most of the property for our family members to stay for the wedding and every one of them said how much they loved it and would come back for a weekend. They also had the historian take everyone on a tour of the property on the day of the wedding to keep them busy while we all got ready and everyone loved it. All of our guests at the wedding said it was one of the nicest locations at which they'd ever been to a wedding.
2. The food - This was very important to me because I didn't want to have food that was "good for a wedding" or "just okay". The food here was SO GOOD and they work with you to make sure it's perfect. You can literally make the menu whatever you want it to be, and it's all delicious. All of our guests said the food was the best they'd had at any wedding and many of them went back for seconds and thirds. The portions were ample and the quality was great.
3. The staff - Every single person working at Stevenson Ridge was helpful, accommodating, and wonderful. Elizabeth was such a joy to work with and took all the stress out of planning a wedding. On the day of, every single staff member went above and beyond to make it perfect. This was a huge plus for me because I felt comfortable with each and every one of them and they all made our day perfect.

All in all, I don't have a single negative thing to say about this place. You will not regret having your wedding here!

We are so glad we went with Stevenson Ridge. Elizabeth Timms was our coordinator. She was absolutely phenomenal. She walked us through the whole process and was so quick to answer any and all of my questions. The chef is fantastic! People are still raving about the food. I highly reccomend adding the smores bar! It was so much fun and the guests loved it!

We decided in September that we wanted to be married that fall. I contacted a bunch of venues and Stevenson Ridge got back to me right away and had 1 Friday left in November. We had a pretty tight budget, and they did everything they could to stay within it. We used their wedding planner, and Betina was simply amazing. Super talented and a great person to work with. She made our day effortless. Our small budgeted, done in 5 weeks wedding looked like we had been planning for a year and spent way more money. The food was amazing, we got so many complements on it. Thank you to everyone for making our day our total dream wedding!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! It has absolutely beautiful scenery everywhere you look which allows for wonderful pictures! Not to mention the people that work there are incredible! I cannot say enough about our coordinator Elizabeth! She went above and beyond to make our day a success! They also have their own caterer and the food is delicious. Within 30 minutes of walking onto the property, my husband and I knew that this was the place where we wanted to get married! The property is charming and beautiful and the staff are friendly and supportive. We were lucky enough to work with both Bettina and Elizabeth during our planning process and both of them were SO helpful! On the day of, Elizabeth went above and beyond to make our day extra special with a bunch of little details. Even as I look back at the photos, I find myself still in awe of how wonderful it all looked. We gave her free reign to decorate and I could not have done betteri in a million years! Actually I am the MOB but worked closely with the Stevenson Ridge team in helping to plan my daughter's August 2017 wedding. I can't say enough about how beautiful the venue was. It can be dressed up or left classically simple, as is, depending on the style wedding a bride is planning. The grounds are very well maintained and there is a beautiful white pergola with a pond available for the actual ceremony. There are numerous, rejuvenated cottages and one large house available for rental on the property. Each are very clean and well appointed with many antiques. There are many decorative wedding embellishments at SR to rent, though this can get pricey, and they are not adverse to clients providing their own preapproved touches from outside. We opted to cater with SR though we had the option of hiring an outside caterer. We had many compliments from our guests on how delicious the food was. We worked closely with Bettina and with Elizabeth who were both wonderful! They were able to work with us on every aspect from beginning to end in seeing the fruition of my daughter's dream wedding fulfilled! Thank you.

Stevenson Ridge and team were amazing! Our family and friends are still talking about the beauty of the venue and how much fun they had. Bettina, our coordinator, did an outstanding job with easing the stress that comes with planning a wedding and made sure the day went as planned down to the very last second. This venue was amazing. It was beautiful and the folks that work there were more than accommodating to what my husband and I wanted for our wedding. We worked with Bettina and she was so great! She responded to emails within 24 hours, if she was on vacation I could call their office and talk to someone right away. They were accommodating with the cabins and check-in times as well! They allowed us to bring any of our own decorations, they also had some there for rental. They had a food tasting before the event to pick our food and a wine tasting (in which we could bring friends, which was fun!) We ordered heavy hor d'oeuvres, instead of a full dinner, and it was more than enough food for everyone the entire night. Beautiful venue, great service!

Elizabeth was absolutely phenomenal! I seriously could not have picked a better coordinater for our wedding. She is the sweetest most kind hearted person and made the process so much less stressful. She answered every question we had and never made us feel like we were annoying or in the way. She was organized and kept us on track and made us feel like it was all going to be okay. Our wedding was amazing thanks to SR.

Stevenson Ridge was an amazing venue for our wedding! It was everything we wanted in a rustic setting. Bettina and the rest of the staff was very accommodating when it came to setting up meetings, especially since I was planning the wedding from Florida. She decorated the ceremony and reception exactly the way we pictured it! Everyone who attended has continuously told us how amazing and beautiful everything turned out. Our wedding was everything we wanted and more! They are an amazing venue and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the northern Virginia area looking for a rustic or just beautiful wedding/party venue! Thank you for everything!

Stevenson Ridge was a fantastic venue for our wedding! When we first discovered it, we thought, "There must be a catch, something must be wrong with this venue." So, when we were touring it, we were on the lookout for any issues.

We found none. The venue is the perfect blend of modern and rustic. Elizabeth was a fantastic coordinator! We wanted someone who would just take care of things, someone who could take charge and that we wouldn't have to worry about, and Elizabeth fit that role perfectly. Even the small things we told her as an aside, she remembered and took care of. Picky family members, she's got them covered. She simply had all the bases covered, even the ones we didn't think of and couldn't anticipate. I really don't know how she does it.

If we had to suggest areas of improvement, I think we'd say that the bridal suite could stand to be larger to accommodate all the bridesmaids; right now, it's a decent enough size for the bride plus maybe one bridesmaid. The cabins also don't have WiFi access, and that would've been appreciated.

Elizabeth and Bettina are absolute superstars! They answered all of my many emails and made sure everything was planned and ready to go for my big day! Stevenson Ridge is such a gorgeous venue that just looking at is you are hooked ,but having great service at the venue really makes it the perfect place for your wedding or event! I am so glad we chose them for both our ceremony and reception! And staying in the Riddick house made everything so convenient! Absolutely love them and hope to use them in the future for any little get-aways at their gorgeous cabins or even for an event!

Stevenson Ridge was the first and ONLY venue we looked at. It was everything that we were looking for: beautiful, rustic, convenient, local, and AV lot of history. From the very first email I sent to set up a meeting to take a tour, the staff was prompt and courteous. Mostly I worked directly with Elizabeth but did have some interaction with the other staff who was just as sweet and enthusiastic as Elizabeth. Due to Virginia summer humidity, the day before the wedding we decided to move our ceremony inside. Elizabeth, with no hesitation, jumped right on into it and made everything look better than we could've ever imagined. On our wedding day, we do not have to worry about anything. The staff was so wonderful and just took care of everything so that we could enjoy our day. We had so many guests complement how beautiful and fun the wedding was, and we thank Stevenson ridge for that! The venue has 10 (almost 11) cabins that you can rent which we did for the whole weekend. Most of our Family was able to stay on site including our wedding party so everybody was close by. Again, I could not ask for a better wedding venue, staff, and memories. - Kassandra and Steven Williams

We LOVED Stevenson Ridge. They require use of a wedding day-of coordinator, and have some on staff to select from. Bettina was the coordinator we chose, and she was phenomenal. She did everything to make my husband, mother, and I feel comfortable and worry-free. She allowed me to email her any time with questions, worries, or needing to be reminded of what we had already decided. She met with my mother and I, or just myself, multiple times to ensure we were on the same page with every detail and was patient when I was uncertain or changed my mind. We were so happy we chose Bettina! They are very well-trained, professional people and are more than capable of handling any wedding questions or stresses you may have. We also chose their catering service, and the food was top-notch and our guests really enjoyed it. The venue was beautiful, and is very clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend Stevenson Ridge for their services and venue. They really made our day go smoothly, and caused us to feel worry-free.

Perfect! We couldn't have asked for a more amazing venue for our wedding and the staff was extremely helpful. Elizabeth was our wedding coordinator and she did not miss a single detail. Stevenson Ridge is the most beautiful venue in the Fredericksburg area. The staff is helpful, professional, and very detail oriented. They made sure everything went smoothly the day of our wedding and throughout the whole planning process. We didn't have to worry about anything on our wedding day; our coordinator took care of setting up for the ceremony and reception, and even packed everything up for us afterward. I highly recommend Stevenson Ridge!!

The entire team was extremely professional and showed me tons of love throughout the process. It is amazing how many details go into a wedding, and how many times I had to email to ask questions and clarify, and every response I received was professional and friendly. I ran into the team at various bridal shows around the area and it was always like getting a warm hug every encounter because they constantly asked about how things were going and so genuine in promoting the excitement of the day. Because of all the details, naturally a few things got missed on my planning side, and the team helped to sort out the small details and just reassure me that it would all work out. It was clear the team has plenty of practice with weddings. When it came to our meetings with the wedding coordinator, she had a clear way of documenting all of the details and was so great at reassuring me all was well if we didn't have everything figured out. I would recommend going with their culinary team, wedding coordination team, and staying on site. The special touches they added in getting ready for the day and after the event (I don't want to ruin all of their surprises) but they truly take care of the bride and groom. The food and wine tasting was one of my favorite parts. I am happy we did not do the full bar (did open wine, beer, and 2 signature cocktails) and everyone seemed to have a blast with that. The appetizers were my favorite that was served - the chef and culinary team are very innovative, so do not be shy about offering off the wall ideas. For example, I've heard they served mini shepherd's pies at weddings. For us, we selected taco wanton cups, cheddar biscuits with ham and pineapple chili jam, rare beef on crostini, and sausage with cheddar grits and Cajun butter with peppers. We received so many complements about the facilities and the food. Hope you choose this place!

I found this venue through a picture at a wedding expo and let me say it did not disappoint! This was the first venue we looked at and nothing else we looked at even compared. We were not disappointed with anything. Stevenson Ridge is full service and their team is amazing! They provided the venue, food, and alcohol. We received so many compliments on how great the venue was and everyone said the food was great! In addition to their event planner we also had our own personal wedding planner and between the two we did not have to worry about anything. We showed up got married and partied until they kicked us out. Stevenson Ridge is very flexible, but when you start adding on services that are not included they become very expensive. They do rent some décor, some of which is VERY over priced. They also have a wonderful bridal suite that is absolutely amazing; which I used and loved. Some really nice things they provide were champagne and water in the bridal suite, beer bucket for the groom and grooms men, private area for bride and groom to enjoy hors d'oeuver's after the ceremony and photos before being introduced. We cannot say enough positives things about the venue or the staff. The staff went above and beyond making sure we as the bride and groom had everything we needed. When walking up to the bar they already had a beer or wine ready for us!!

I can't say enough wonderful things about Stevenson Ridge, and especially events coordinator, Bettina Theilacker. We held both the wedding and reception there. We were planning our wedding from 6 states away, and that had to potential to be so stressful. Bettina was super about helping guide us, provided lots of great suggestions on how to keep within our budget, while still having a lovely event. Andy & I are very different in our tastes, and she helped us to meld them into a delicious and cohesive menu, beautiful décor and an overall exceptional experience. Many of our guests traveled from out of state, and were blown away by the beautiful facility and continue to gush about the fun time that everyone had. I appreciate the attention to every detail to make this the happiest of days!

We had our wedding at Stevenson Ridge on 12/19/15.

The wedding coordinator- Elizabeth Timms was exceptional. She's calm, knowledgable, diligent and not to mention incredibly friendly. I never heard any issues or challenges- so either everything ran perfectly or she took care of it! Either way- it was service beyond expectations. You always hear horror stories and our day went off without a hitch and i think this was largely due to her experience.

The venue itself was beautiful and accommodating. The girls stayed in one of the cabins right next to the venue and it was perfect.

Our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception at Stevenson Ridge were PERFECT. We loved that the venue offered us an opportunity to stay on the premises in the beautiful cabins (Riddick House is basically a mansion, and we felt like royalty!) while also offering an event space that could accommodate our large party. Having a rain-day backup, which is a rare venue feature, also helped us keep a peace of mind. Elizabeth Timms and the whole staff were patient, responsive, and flexible. They helped us through every step of the planning process and made sure everything went smoothly the day of--we didn't have to worry about a thing, from decorating (which they did far better than we could've done!) to clean-up. We had a ton of allergies in our party, and the chef kindly assured all our guests could enjoy the delicious food. The staff also had excellent recommendations for other vendors, and with Stevenson Ridge being full of such kind people, you could tell all our vendors truly enjoyed working with them. Finally, we'd be remiss if we didn't mention the beauty of the space--just wow. All our guests commented on how incredibly beautiful the venue was. We couldn't have been happier!

Stevenson Ridge is a wonderful wedding venue. Casey and I were looking for the right place for a laid back wedding and they were the perfect fit! Erin (our wedding coordinator) was such a dream to work with. She was very flexible with our crazy schedules and always double checked with us before making final implementations. Plus, THE FOOD. So worth it. Our guests still talk about it months after the big day! Well worth the time to check out this venue; it's like a home away from home.

Stevenson Ridge was the ideal location for our wedding. After having visited a handful of other venues, we finally scheduled an appointment to come take a look at Stevenson Ridge. It was love at first sight. The entire location including the Reception venue, pond, grounds, cabins and mansion were straight out of a fairytale. We ended booking with them as soon as the tour was over. Elizabeth was everything we could have asked for and more. She was there with us from the moment we toured the venue through the wedding night departure. I honestly couldn't imagine having gone through the process of planning the wedding without her. Her attention to detail and ultimate goal of making sure I was 100% happy was obvious from the beginning. She was always SUPER flexible with any time issues or details that needed to be tended to. I HIGHLY recommend Stevenson Ridge to any bride looking for a beautiful venue and attentive staff. You won't regret it!

Stevenson Ridge was the perfect wedding ceremony and reception venue. The venue has a unique combination of elegance and rustic history that really appealed to us. The staff is fantastic and caters to every need. The wait staff and catering were incredible, food was fabulous and every detail was taken care of at every turn. All of our guests had a great time and have had nothing but great things to say about the venue and the staff. We especially appreciated the catering menu selection dinner for bride, groom and 2 others, as well as the wine tasting event for bar selections. Every aspect of preparation and attention to detail was top notch. We couldn't have been happier with how everything turned out.

Stevenson Ridge is such a special place to be married, my now husband and I knew the location was special to us being that we grew up near battlegrounds in each of our hometowns. The property is absolutely gorgeous and the service/support you receive during the wedding process is superb, Elizabeth was a delight to work with and I couldn't have done it without her. I cannot say enough great things about this venue!!!! I remember when Stevenson Ridge fist became a wedding venue some years ago. Ironically, I was a guest at the very first wedding held in the lodge. From that day, I knew this venue was where I wanted to have my big day, thankfully my better half agreed! To start, this venue is absolutely breath taking!!! It literally takes your breath away as soon as you turn onto Meeting Street. The grounds are well maintained and the property has a way of instantly making you feel at home. Guests of our wedding that had never been to the venue were blown away by how gorgeous the venue was. Jennifer and Elizabeth are two of the kindest, sweetest people you could ever meet! Throughout the planning process, anytime I stressed and/or worried about something either one (or sometimes both) of them would immediately come up with solutions and/or ideas to help me. Our wedding day was an absolute gorgeous day; it literally could not have been more of a perfect day. Shocking for a July wedding in Virginia right? Elizabeth literally made sure that I never lifted a finger the entire day! She handles every, single detail so professionally, yet effortlessly (trust me she makes this look easy)! We also used Stevenson Ridge catering for the food and I am so happy we did! Here we are almost a full 2 months later and guests are still talking about how delicious the food was on our wedding day. My husband and I stayed at one of the cabins the night of the wedding and when we got there Elizabeth had two plates of food from the reception, a bottle of champagne, and beer (for the hubby) waiting on us! Talk about service!!! I wish we could do it all over again; our wedding day was picture perfect!!!! Once it was all said and done we were both so overjoyed by how AMAZING our day was. I will forever be grateful for Jennifer, Elizabeth, and the entire Stevenson Ridge team for making my dream wedding a reality!!!!

From the moment I toured Stevenson Ridge, I knew my daughter's wedding would be awesome. Our guests complemented the beauty of the venue, the delicious food,and the courtesy of the staff. If you are a planner with lots of ideas, Elizabeth Timms, Stevenson Ridge's fantastic coordinator, can make all of your dreams come true! If you don't have a clue what to do, Elizabeth has great ideas! All of the staff at Stevenson Ridge were so helpful. Not only did they all make all of our requests come true, they offered suggestions and help without even being asked. "Above and beyond" should be the motto of "The Ridge!" Elizabeth was so kind and helpful when it became clear that the weather would not cooperate with our plan for an outdoor ceremony. And, after experiencing the indoor chapel, I wondered why we ever considered anything else. It has a spiritual, intimate feeling and is visually stunning. Thanks for a day that my daughter told me was "perfect."

Stevenson Ridge is by far the best venue we found when looking for our daughters wedding. We searched, researched and visited many many venues from Orange County Va. to New York City. Stevenson Ridge ticked all of the boxes for our daughters "Rustic Chic" wedding. Elizabeth was our day of wedding coordinator, but she was so much more to us. She thought of everything and was always available to us. The level of care, professionalism and friendliness of Elizabeth, Jennifer and Erin far surpassed our expectations, and they were high.
The food was delicious. It is not easy to have a sit down dinner for 150 and have all of the plates arrive warm and the food cooked to perfection. !!!
The grounds were magnificently kept and the Cabins are so, so charming. We rented out the whole property and felt like the landed gentry! Debbie and Dan (owners) were so warm and welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed to make the weekend prefect. The overall rating of Stevenson Ridge is a definite 10!
We have one more wedding and it will be at Stevenson Ridge with out question.

Stevenson Ridge could not have been more perfect for our intimate, cozy February wedding! Our bridal party stayed in the 10 historic cabins on property which worked out really well having everyone so close yet with their own spaces. Elizabeth kindly delivered wine bottle amenities to each cabin, so the guests sipped wine, built fires and enjoyed the quaint setting for the weekend. My husband and I stayed in the Riddick House, which was a great home base for our friends and family with the many comfortable common areas, huge chef kitchen and elegant décor. The Lodge was exactly what we were looking for in our extensive search: exposed wood beams, wrought iron chandeliers, 2 fireplaces, built-in wood bar. Most of our guests, including ourselves, are from New England, so the venue and grounds were a charming taste of the South for a weekend away. Now, most importantly, we cannot say enough AMAZING things about Elizabeth and Jennifer! I work in the wedding industry, so needless to say, we were a tad bit picky about the details ;)… They worked tirelessly to help us customize menus within our budget, source Virginia wines, alter setup arrangements, etc etc without breaking a sweat. Elizabeth was very responsive, always extremely pleasant and took great care of us on the night of. We had a day-of planner, but we could see that Elizabeth and Jennifer were working their magic behind the scenes to make it an effortless, incredible evening for us. Thank you to the entire SR team for the ease in planning and beautiful execution, we will be back for our first anniversary! :)

This venue was absolutely amazing, as well as the employees. Everything was perfect and way beyond our expectations. At least half of the guests complimented on how great the wedding was. I would also highly encourage anyone who books here to have Elizabeth as your coordinator. Everything went perfectly smooth because of her. Well worth the extra money. I would recommend anyone getting married to check out this venue!!! Also, I NEVER write reviews, for anything, so don't take this review for granted. :)

Stevenson Ridge was the most beautiful venue for my wedding. Elizabeth and the staff went above and beyond to make my wedding day spectacular. Elizabeth was always extremely prompt returning emails and phone calls and literally thought of every single detail. We coordinated with Elizabeth as well and I knew my wedding day was in great hands and I didn't worry about a thing. No detail was forgotten and I felt like I was her only wedding that season...even thought I know she's pretty much booked solid. She always made me feel like a priority and Stevenson Ridge was accommodating of some last minute changes and needs. The food was awesome, venue was awesome and the staff was awesome!

Elizabeth Timms is the most amazing person and wedding coordinator I could have ever asked for: she made everything seem effortless and handled all of the work/set up for my ceremony and reception like the seasoned professional that she is, with a smile on her face the whole time! She answered all of my crazy questions throughout the planning, had solutions to every problem/challenge, and made my family and I feel as though we were not just clients, but friends. The additional staff that I interacted with (Jennifer and Erin) were also just as wonderful. The vibe of the entire family-run organization is relaxed and homey while still being professional and elegant. The on-site catering food was very delicious (we had a beef carving station and caramelized lemon chicken breasts with potatoes and veggies) and we received many compliments about it, in addition to the friendly staff.

The venue is so stunningly beautiful, with a rustic charm about it that was just what we were looking for. We had our ceremony outside by the pond, an indoor/outdoor cocktail hour, and our reception inside the Lodge, which is so inherently beautiful that it requires little decoration. We rented the Spy Hill House for the girls to get ready in the day of the wedding, and then we all walked out of the house for the ceremony - it was a lovely little hang out spot during our down time. The guys hung out in the lower level of the Lodge with the TV and couches and got dressed in the special mirrored room there.

Our wedding was perfect, and that is all due to their wonderful staff! I will be forever grateful to them for giving me and my new husband an unforgettable wedding day with zero stress or issue. Thank you so much, SR!!

The whole experience was exceptional!! This is a very beautiful venue!! My Husband and I chose Stevenson Ridge for our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception venue and we could not have been happier! Selecting Stevenson Ridge as our rehearsal dinner, ceremony & reception venue & as our caterer for our entire wedding weekend was by far the best decision we made (aside from marrying!) It was the quintessential backdrop for our "Old Virginia" wedding, & allowed guests to stay the weekend. SR truly has it all - from several rustic log cabins/houses to the luxurious Victorian-like Riddick House. It made for a relaxed, yet superbly elegant, ambiance that proved unforgettable. We rented out the Riddick House for our rehearsal dinner & for the Bridal Suite the night of the wedding, & the Lodge for our ceremony/reception. After the rehearsal dinner, the ladies stayed the night in the Riddick House, where we had our hair stylists meet us in the morning to get ready. The guys stayed in the Log Cabin. We did not even leave the property the day of the wedding! Not only is the venue undeniably lovely & extraordinary, the people are too. The whole weekend went off without a hitch, due to the unrelenting coordination assistance from both Elizabeth & Jennifer. The overall service, love & attention to detail received from the entire SR staff proved invaluable! I highly recommend contracting their wedding coordination service & on-site catering. We worked primarily with Elizabeth, & quickly picked up on her many talents to multitask, organize, & communicate. She truly is a master communicator in providing timely responses to emails, & even buffered much of the family anxiety that tends to accompany such a big event! Her patience & charm is enviable! Though we had the option for outside catering, we chose SR due to their willingness to fulfill our menu vision, & their astounding chef, who gave us a memorable tasting. The food was exceptional! I would not change a single aspect about our wedding weekend, & truly believe our blessed union & celebration was imparted by the love fostered by all at Stevenson Ridge. It will forever hold a special place in our hearts & marriage!

Stevenson Ridge is a beautiful venue. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. Elizabeth is an awesome coordinator, so helpful and pleasant. The chef, what can I saw, fabulous! All the guest loved the location and the food, compliments all evening. We stayed in the cabins which are gorgeous and would stay again just to relax. Absolutely a wonderful place for a wedding. As soon as I walked in I knew it was the place. The staff is very friendly and they get back to you so quickly. I cannot tell you how happy we were with Stevenson Ridge. Our daughter's wedding ceremony took place under the Pergola in front of the pond, and the reception took place in the Lodge. The attention to detail was unsurpassed. Elizabeth was a dream to work with and she helped me keep everything organized from a month before the wedding right through till the very last moment of the reception. What can I say about Stevenson Ridge? I can say a lot. The venue and staff are amazing. I could not be happier about the service I received. So many of my guests gushed about how beautiful of a venue it was. The simple rustic elegance of the Lodge was the perfect backdrop to my winter wedding. Stevenson Ridge, and Elizabeth in particular, were incredibly helpful and responsive to my needs for my wedding planning. With my now husband in the military while I was getting my doctorate in another state, Elizabeth helped us plan long distance without a hitch. She answered every long question-laden email quickly and within a very timely manner, and was a joy to work with. The venue itself was gorgeous, especially around Christmastime, as there was a large christmas tree with white lights set up as well as garland on the mantle also with white lights. The week of the wedding, Elizabeth called all of my vendors for me to confirm their arrival times, and ran the whole day seamlessly even with vendors getting stuck in traffic and guests running in at the end of the ceremony. I would highly recommend Stevenson Ridge to all of my friends getting married, as well as for any events they may have in the future. I will definitely be coming back!

I just got married on October 6, and I honestly cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was working with Stevenson Ridge!!! We started our wedding planning adventure looking at small to mid size venues that would be on the less expensive side. After visiting parks and historical sites and doing our research, we settled on Stevenson Ridge because even though the price is a little higher (but still reasonable for the area), the venue is beyond beautiful! Our ceremony was outside in front of the pond, and we had our reception (a few shy of 100 guests) in the lodge. We decided to opt for the day-of coordination package, and could not have been happier with the quality of service and professionalism we received. It was by far, the BEST money we spent on our wedding! Both Jennifer and Elizabeth are easy to work with; they always responded to my emails promptly and never made me feel like my questions were unimportant. It was a fairytale day!

Stevenson Ridge was the *perfect* place to have both our wedding ceremony and reception. My ceremony was supposed to be outdoors, but because of rain was moved indoors (lots of rain the day before!). They were very flexible in letting me make the decision to move it indoors or not. Looking back, I don't regret it for a second. The indoor ceremony site is composed of pieces from an old chapel...absolutely gorgeous. The Stevenson Ridge property is amazing. My wedding party and I stayed in the unique cottages and cabins the entire weekend. The stress of getting last-minute wedding details taken care of was easily calmed by the serene surroundings. It is a beautiful, historic property. The property is large and SR allows you access to just about everything, allowing for many beautiful photo opportunities and backgrounds. My wedding photos (and others I've seen) are stunning. The staff is completely attentive, flexible, and super helpful. Elizabeth, my wedding coordinator, took my lackluster and vague ideas about décor and turned the ceremony and reception into beauty. They really know what they are doing when it comes to weddings, which was such a relief. They are pet friendly and went out of their way to make sure our dog was included in our day. Amazing customer service, venue, and just overall kind people to work with- that really should be a factor when choosing your wedding vendors. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone planning a wedding or other event (they host other things besides weddings).

Very beautiful place to have my wedding at. We even hired a coordinator through Stevenson Ridge to help with the wedding and they were completely accommodating and professional. This was the only place in town that we could have an outdoor wedding and also be able to use their indoor chapel if the weather was not good that day- all included in our contract. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

We had our wedding Stevenson Ridge in early October. We had both the wedding ceremony and the reception at the Lodge. Everything was absoultely beautiful! Elizabeth (our wedidng coordinator from Stevenson Ridge) helped make our dreams come true and made the whole day run so smoothly! All of the wedding guests absolutely loved the venue and the wedding went off without a hitch! Our photos our absolutely amazing and there are so many good places to get photos done. We rented the Log Home for the guys to get ready in and then we stayed there that night. Many of our wedding guests stayed at other cabins and homes on site and everyone absolutely loved it! I cannot recommend this place enough! Absolutely AMAZING!

I recently had my wedding at Stevenson Ridge and it was absolutely a fantastic venue and experience. Elizabeth, our wedding coordinator there, could not have been more attentive, helpful, kind, etc! She helped me feel so at ease and calm on the day of the wedding, and I literally had nothing to worry about. She kept things on track throughout the night, and kept my husband and I posted on what was happening, what we needed to do next, etc. I've seen some reviews with complaints in regards to responsiveness, and I can honeslty say I never had any issue and always received detailed responses back via email, and when I called, I was always able to speak with someone. The only thing I would note (which is pretty much the case with any wedding venue) is to get pricing for rentals, and also the use of any of the homes on the property for the wedding day, up front as a lot of things can add up at the end. Stevenson Ridge is a beautiful venue, with so much to offer and I would highly reccomend it to anyone.

When we first signed our contract, we signed for the Riddick House, which was absolutely gorgeous! However, we were worried that it wouldn't be able to accommodate our crowd, so we switched to the Lodge, which was perfect and gorgeous! Jennifer and Elizabeth were receptive to our needs and kept the lines of communication open for any concerns or questions. I couldn't ask for a more beautiful wedding venue and for the price, you can't beat it!

This venue was absolutely beautiful! Elizabeth was my wedding coordinator and she was so super helpful during the wedding process. I could have not done it without her!! She got back to me right away when I had any questions! This is the best venue in this whole area! So professional and very organized! I was so impressed!
