Amazing Wedding Florals
Shaya at Stella Event Design exceeded our expectations for our wedding florals! She gave me an amazing first quote when I didn’t know what I wanted, and was so patient with me as I changed my mind a million times until I made my final decisions. I was so happy with the beautiful flowers she designed and delivered. I’m preserving my bouquet and I can’t wait to cherish it forever. -

Wonderful!
Shaya was great to work with! Reaching out and getting a cost estimate and securing the booking was super easy, especially since I did not live locally. I did not come in with a specific vision for flowers other than a few inspiration pictures and my hope for dahlias to be incorporated. Shaya helped create a wonderful flower plan for the ceremony and reception, helping me consider multiple options to work within budget. The flowers were so beautiful and I could not have asked for anything better! The delivery and setup at the venue were also perfect. I would definitely recommend!-

Simply Amazing
I couldn’t have asked for a better florist! The flowers were absolutely stunning, exactly what I wanted, and they were a pleasure to work with! I will recommend and refer them over and over again forever! Thank you again for such a beautiful display of flowers for our wedding arch, bouquets, boutonnières, and reception!-

Beautiful florals and accommodating to work with
I had an incredible experience with Stella Event Design! The florals turned out beautiful and right in my price range! She did my floral arch, bouquets, corsages and boutonnières and everything turned out even better than I could’ve imagined. She was so flexible and accommodating with a few changes to my vision. She was quick to respond to all my emails, helpful when I asked questions or tried out different ideas, and set everything up at my venue. She was amazing! -

Beautiful arrangements and very flexible
We worked with Shaya at Stella Event Design and she was nothing short of amazing! Throughout the planning process she asked for ideas, what I envisioned and if there were any special requests. All of that was taken into consideration and they were even able to accommodate our request for hops and wheat to be included throughout the floral arrangements.
We decided, like many 2020 couples, to change our initial wedding plan for safety reasons. We ended moving from a large 250 person gathering in MI to a small, intimate gathering in WI. Shaya worked with us and had the arrangements completed early so we could pick them up 2 days before the event. She recommended some changes for flowers that would last a bit longer and be heartier since we were picking up earlier than day of.
Every single item we received looked amazing!
Overall working with Stella Event Design was a dream and the products they produce are well worth the cost. -

Absolutely A-MAZING!!
Shaya was great to work with! Stella Event Design should be your ONLY place to go for flowers, event coordination, and decorations.
We could not have been more pleased. In fact, our centerpieces were so beautiful that we had guests asking us if they could take them home with them at the end of the night, and everyone kept telling us that they had never seen flowers more gorgeous than ours.
I truly cannot say enough about Shaya and Stella Event Design. They were amazing in every way - talented, flexible, thoughtful, and reasonably priced. Our experience was so good, we actually invited Shaya and her team to be guests at our wedding, that is how wonderful they are to work with!!-

Jessica did an excellent job on decorating outdoor ceremony and indoor reception for my wedding in May. She was very professional, friendly and flexible to work with. I had customized proposal on how I would like to have the sites decorated to be within certain budget, Jessica made it happen and even more beautiful than I expected! I’m very happy with her amazing work and really appreciate it! -

Working with Stella Events was probably the most important decision we made in planning our wedding. Holden and Mary Beth went above and beyond any expectation we had. They gave wonderful suggestions and advice. They listened to our ideas and concerns and gave thoughtful and helpful responses. Stella also was our florist and they made the most beautiful arrangements for both our ceremony and our reception. We had an absolutely beautiful wedding and Stella Events had a HUGE part in making everything perfect! -

I was completely blown away by Stella Event Design's work! We hired them for day of coordination services, and it was one of the best decisions we made. Throughout my planning process, Holden answered my millions of questions quickly, patiently, and thoughtfully. He coordinated with all my vendors leading up to the wedding. The day of the wedding, he (along with his team of Sidney and Lindsey) executed every detail flawlessly. My family and I spent most of the day relaxing, with nothing to do! Holden took my vision for both the ceremony and reception and made them happen as if they were his own, and we heard over and over again how perfectly the whole day unfolded. Being able to be present and enjoy every moment of your wedding is a gift, and I cannot begin to thank Stella Event Design, and Holden, enough for their talent and everything they did to make my wedding day the best day of my life. They will always be so dear to me as a huge part in making the whole day a success! I would highly recommend Stella Event Design, especially Holden, for wedding coordination services. -

Jessica provided the Full Service Planning for my daughter's September 2013 wedding. I can tell you that it was worth every penny! The wedding was an outdoor reception along the shore of Lake Michigan. We had to rent everything - tent, tables, chairs, dishes, grills, etc. Jessica was able to secure the rentals at a significant discount and we were able to save more than half of her fee by not renting everything on our own. We also were scammed by a wedding invitation designer from Etsy and Jessica stepped right in and connected us with a local person she knew that was able to get our invitations complete on time in a super short turn around time. Jessica met with our florist with us and in her sweet and gentle manner was able to slightly modify the florist's design to better fit with the "look" Jessica was creating for us at the reception. She never made the florist feel uncomfortable. The tent and tables were gorgeous and everyone commented on them! She is a wonderful team player and worked beautifully with the vendors we had selected on our own. Jessica was extremely calm and unflappable which allowed my husband and I to thoroughly enjoy every minute of all the festivities. I would HIGHLY recommend her. -

Stella Event Design and Jessica were truly, absolutely amazing. Jessica made the process of planning my dream wedding stress free and so fun! She was able to take the vision of what we wanted and duplicate it, if not making it even better. Jessica was so flexible - always willing to travel to us to meet or go out of her way to do something for us. My husband's goal was to have Jessica allow for me to be completely calm on our wedding day, which is exactly what happened. I didn't have anything to worry about because I was confident Jessica would handle everything. She had relationships with so many vendors in the West Michigan area which especially helped when we had an Etsy vendor take our money and run after we placed an order for our invitations. Stella Event and Jessica were fabulous and without a doubt would be highly, highly recommended to anyone looking for a planner. -

We decided to hire a day-of wedding coordinator on the recommendation of our DJ and I’m so glad we did. I knew right away that we wanted Stella Event Design from the moment I landed on their website. Jessica and Holden know what they are doing…period. When I shared our decision with the rest of the wedding vendors it was like they all breathed a sigh of relief because they knew the day would run smooth.
Holden was my coordinator for the day and after meeting with him just a few times I felt like I had known him for a long time. His dedication, enthusiasm, creativity, kindness, and attention to detail made it seem like he cared about the wedding like a friend or family member instead of a vendor.
Like all weddings we had a few hiccups and Holden was right there through them all. There were several issues that he solved behind the scenes without me even knowing. I can’t tell you how may times I had to say, “go find Holden,” or “Holden will take care of that.” At some point we got stuck with our two dogs because nobody could get them back to the daycare. Holden’s assistant Chardonnay jumped in and spent all evening walking them and taking them on potty breaks. There were also several times where I would catch Holden’s eye and he would nod to me with a smile as if to tell me that everything was handled and under control. Finally right before the ceremony began, when emotional exhaustion set in and I was overwhelmed with family drama, Holden appeared in the small dressing room. Everyone had been ushered out and we stood alone for a few minutes. He dried a few tears, fluffed my dress, and somehow just saved the day with a few creative quick fixes. He had this wonderful calming effect on me.
In the end, I would strongly suggest Stella Event Design to any Bride that is looking for a stress free day. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Holden, Jennifer, & Chardonnay for all the love, support, and hard work. My wedding day was a dream come true!

I got engaged in March, planned our Michigan beach wedding from the Chicago area, and was married by July...they helped me plan and have the wedding of my dreams within 4 months!! Stella did my flowers as well and people have been raving about them!!!! I cannot say enough about how wonderful they were and would recommend them in a heartbeat!!!! -

We were lucky enough to work with Jessica and from the first moment we met her she was very enthusiastic, organized and had great ideas. Since we live in Chicago and were going to get married at our lake house in Michigan, we decided to invest in a wedding planner and it was the best decision ever! Jessica was always full of great ideas, was a great listener and understood exactly the type of wedding we wanted, and she always did her best to stay true to our wishes.
We got married 3 days ago and I am still in disbelief at how seamless everything was. Jessica has a great rapport with the vendors, she took care of everything, and we literally did not have to worry about anything at all.
I highly recommend the full wedding planning package. We weren't sure if it was the best choice, but it took away so much stress knowing Jessica was taking care of everything. We met at her office and she is completely professional, organized beyond belief, and is always upbeat and happy. Our wedding day was a dream come true, and a lot of that is credited to Jessica and her excellent team (Holden included!) who made everything just perfect.

Holden @ Stella Event was wonderful and made my wedding just perfect! Planning from Cincinnati proved very difficult and he stepped in and really did a fantastic job taking my direction and running with it. The one thing that I especially loved was that he called all my vendors the week of the wedding to touch base with them and ensure everything would be exactly where and how i wanted it to be. This was a huge help as i had a million other things to do that week, including traveling up to Michigan. Thank you to Stella Event for making my day one I will never forget. -

Hiring Stella Event Design was the best decision I made for my wedding. Jessica, the lead planner, coordinated my wedding and she was reliable in every way and has a personality that could make even the most nervous person relaxed and comfortable. She provided every service with professionalism from designing a budget, recommending vendors, designing the look of the reception and making the rehearsal, wedding and reception go smoothly. My family, wedding party, and myself all got to enjoy the entire day with no stress b/c Jessica did the set-up, made sure vendors were on time, gave vendor tips, did the take down, and much more that I don't even know b/c I didn't have to be concerned with any behind the scenes. I would recommend Stella Event Design to anyone that wants their day to be sensational! -

They were both so inviting and kind and never made us felt like we were asking too many questions. The Stella Event Design team exceeded my expectations! I found their creative and inspired designs to be right on target for our vision for a wedding weekend celebrating family, friends, and our new life. We enjoyed the detailed plans that the Stella Event Design team prepared giving us a really clear picture of how we could maximize our budget. The preferred vendor/supplier list also made our research much more efficient by reducing the need to contact pages upon pages of potential suppliers.
I loved that Stella Event Design checked in periodically to see how our planning was going. They managed the coordination with several of our suppliers/vendors to ensure a successful and stress-free wedding day. To that point, I spent the entire day at the spa with my maid-of-honor relaxing knowing that Stella Event Design had it all under control. I even have pictures of my groom "chilling" the afternoon of our wedding day since I reassured him Stella Event Design would take care of all the details and set up.
Investing in wedding planning services was the second best decision I made (picking a pretty amazing husband to wed ranks at the top of the list!). -

Jessica and her team made our wedding phenominal from start to finish. Our first meeting she informed us that there was a huge golf tournament occuring in St. Joseph on the weekend we were considering for our wedding. We had spoken with 3 reception venues prior to our meeting, and none had mentioned the tournament or the logistical issues it would pose for our day. We right then how valuable she would be to our wedding planning experience.
She had the ability to hear our ideas and transform them into reality. She was never overbearing, and just wanted to give us the wedding of our dreams on our budget. She was there with us through the whole process and was always available to help us navigate bumps in the road. If you are looking for a down to earth, creative, and exceptionally organized planner .... Jessica is your girl! -

Stella Event Design- We had an opportunity to work with Brittany Johnson. We chose the “Day-of-coordinator” package and we were very glad to have her help! The Barn was just too big to do alone, plus I couldn’t imagine rushing around feeling stressed having to set-up, decorate, and try to get pampered all the while trying to feel like a bride. The day goes sooo fast, I wouldn’t want to do anything other than get pampered, smile, and marry the love of my life. Save yourself the headache and hire them ASAP. Also, their vendor list is worth the money you pay them. We saved a lot of time by taking their recommendations. There will be a 1,000 things to do, having to supply a list of your own vendors is not worth the time it will take to compile the list. Brittany is fast on email replies and great at communication with the Bride and Groom. Overall, things went smoothly. I am very specific, controlling, and neurotic, so the fact I had a blast and only felt panicked a few times, (family related), is a great sign. Brittany has a great poker face and puts fires out quietly which makes her perfect for the job. Planning a wedding is stressful, running a wedding is high pace and high-stress, but Brittany keeps it moving and handles hiccups without making a sound. I highly recommend Stella Event Design. 10 out of 10

We hired Stella Events for day-of planning for our wedding at the Blue Dress Barn. From the very beginning Jessica was extremely helpful, friendly, and extremely quick to email me back with any answers to our questions. Being from Chicago and not knowing much about the area, Jessica provided us with a list of recommended vendors to work with, all of which turned out to be reliable, quality professionals.
Our actual planner was Mary Beth, who was AMAZING!! Mary Beth is extremely sweet, kind, and made us feel at ease. Each meeting we had with her was wonderful, and she executed our vision to perfection. Our day ran as scheduled and without flaw because of her, and there is no way we could of had such a beautiful, stress-free wedding without all of her help. From schlepping loads of decorations, cupcakes, etc to the barn and spending hours setting everything up exactly as we discussed (and even better!) to making sure our other vendors were right on point, Mary Beth and her assistant Lexie were the best! Stella Events is the best, and we would definitely say this service was money well spent!!! -

Brittany, one of Stella's event planners, was essential in the planning of my southwest Michigan wedding. I was planning my wedding from Chicago and had NO idea about which vendors to work with. Working with Jessica at Stella Event Design was amazing! As a Detroit bride planning a wedding on the other side of the state, it was extremely helpful to receive vendor recommendations that were reliable, within my budget and matched my "vision." Looking at past event photos, I knew Jessica and her team would come up with something fun, modern and perfect for my theme and venue. I really trusted her judgements and referrals. She was extremely flexible with me since I couldn't always get there for a face-to-face meeting (or had very short notice!) and answered all emails immediately. She definitely went above and beyond just day-of-coordination and I am very thankful that I had her to help me on the day of the wedding. I literally do not know what I would have done without her. She was very professional and very caring. I never felt like my wedding was just another job to her, or that she was too busy to help me with things. She stayed until the very end of the reception and helped my family load up the cars (very efficiently!). I have nothing but good things to say about her and my experience-- VERY highly recommend her and Stella Event Design. You will not regret it! -

Since we were having an outdoor wedding at a friend's farm, we decided that it would be worthwhile to hire a wedding planner for the day of the wedding. Since I wanted to plan the majority of it, we used Jessica for the day of coordination. From the very first day we hired her, she was helpful and very easy to work with. She has wonderful enthusiasm and clearly enjoys what she does. She provided us with a great list of vendors and was always very prompt in returning emails and calls. She made me feel very comfortable that I was planning appropriately, and she gave me great advice and ideas.
She came to the rehearsal the night before and jumped right in. I let her know what needed to be done, and she took care of everything. I had done a lot of DIY projects, and she made all of my work look better than I could have ever envisioned! She was also so helpful with vendors, organizing the wedding party and making sure everything ran smoothly. And because of her, it all did run smoothly. I never worried about a thing.
I cannot say better things about Jessica and her whole staff. They are an absolute pleasure to work with and well worth the money. I highly recommend them! -

If you are someone who needs guidance, support, creative ideas, organization & much much more, then Jessica is the one for you! She drove our wedding from start to finish (literally finish, she and her team were the last to leave the venue after the reception).
When it came to my wedding I had no idea where to start, even choosing a theme, flowers and location was all over my head. Jessica and her team came to the rescue, and honestly I don't know how I would have done anything without them. Jessica has personal relationships with so many vendors that no matter what our budget was she had a reliable vendor to offer us. She personally knew florists, dj's, venue coordinators, officiants. She came up with the most amazing centerpiece displays (that I would have NEVER thought of on my own) and decor for the reception. All our guests were totally blown away at how beautiful everything was.
All my nerves were totally at ease, everyone kept asking me if I was nervous before the wedding and the answer was always "no" because Jessica was ten steps ahead of me. The day of, Jessica was waiting for me at the ceremony...everything looked perfect, everyone was where they were supposed to be. I would recommend Stella Event Design to ANYONE who is looking for an amazing wedding planner and day of coordinator. You will not be disappointed! -

Brittany Johnson from Stella Event Design was my knight in shining armor. Only instead of a knight she was the perfect wedding planner, and instead of shining armor she was armed with a plethora of fabulous ideas and infinite patience!
Our intimate beach wedding was put together in a little less than four months with the help of the talented Brittany and her team at Stella Event Design. She was able to offer me plenty of suggestions and options to keep us within our budget and still make it look like we spent a million bucks on the wedding of our dreams.
Not only was Brittany there for me every step (and email) of the way, but she was genuinely excited about our upcoming wedding and you could tell that she cared just as much for our small affair as she did her 300+ wedding the weekend before. We were never put aside or treated any differently even though we weren't a large event; she made us feel like we were the only wedding she had under her belt. And that really says a lot, because Brittany and Stella Event Design are constantly busy planning gorgeous affairs! :)
She even helped me with ideas for our small dinner reception as well and I feel like I made a true friend who I hope to keep in touch with for months and years to come. I would recommend Stella Event Design and especially Brittany Johnson to anyone who wants a person who genuinely cares about your special day and will make you feel like you are the only client in the world that matters. Our day wouldn't have been what it was without her help! Thank you so much, Brittany! I'll always recommend you whenever I have a chance! :)

We used Stella Event Design for "Day of Wedding Planning." It was the most valuable investment we made into a Wedding on a tight budget. It was so much more then only day of coordination. Brittany drove and hour and half to run our rehearsal. We brought them on later in our planning so we didn't get to take advantage of the vendor references so instead she came with us to our final meeting with our caterer. Because we couldn't get into our venue until noon on the day of the wedding it was impossible to do any set up ourselves, so there were a lot of little extras we thought we wouldn't be able to have, but we gave everything to Brittany along with our trust and everything was beyond beautiful!!! Thank you Brittany and Stella Event Design! -

We could not have had such a wonderful wedding without Jessica and her team. We had a beautiful wedding at Gintaras Resort (Thank you Chris and Gint!) in Union Pier, Mi and had so many personal touches we were able to include because of everyone's creativity, flexibility and general concern that our day would be special. Jessica Pennington and the team at Stella Event Design made my wedding AMAZING! I had but *ONE* freak out during the ENTIRE wedding process and that came the morning of the wedding when I work up to torrential downpour (the day cleared and it was a BEAUTIFUL day, phew!). I am not the 'typical' bride. I had not dreamed of my wedding day for years, and frankly - didn't really want to work out all the details that lots of girls enjoy. Call me crazy.... Cue Stella Event Design and their "full service" planning option!!
I gave Jessica my vision and because I trusted her and her expertise I just let her run with it. The vendors she works with are TOP NOTCH and she made this entire wedding process fun, (almost) effortless, and easy-peasy. My hubby and I had a totally stress-free experience - no joke! I could NOT imagine pulling off what she pulled off on my own and I would HIGHLY recommend her to ANYONE planning a wedding in Southwest Michigan. Our wedding was PERFECT, there is not ONE SINGLE THING that I would change, and that is due in large part to Jessica and her team. They listen, they respond, they deliver!

Jessica was very professional, and very responsive, she had great advice on the flowers and other arrangements as well as where we could buy items such as candles and everything else. We contracted for day-of services, which included a lot more than day-of services! The day-of services included planning the day and allowed us the fun of picking our centerpieces and decorations and vendors to our style. I cannot say enough of how much help she was in referring us to reliable friendly vendors! Even when I called a month before to ask for a new florist because the one we had chosen had a change in personnel and suddenly informed me that "we do not do weddings on mothers day weekend". We had a long distance, "destination" type wedding so the few times I was able to be in town for planning, she made sure to accomodate my schedule.
On the wedding day I showed up and all the centerpieces were set as well as the switch to an indoor ceremony -- a change made at 1:30 on the day of the wedding! Two wedding planners were present on the day of the ceremony to help with the ceremony and reception and keeping everything moving and keeping track of the wedding party.
I recommend taking the worry (or at least some of it) out of the day by hiring these ladies! -

Jessica was wonderful every step of the way. Our first meeting she was prepared with suggestions about the reception hall, flowers, and food. She was always easy to reach by email. She usually responded within an hour or two from the time my email was sent, somes sooner. She was a great listener and really understood the vibe/style that we wanted for our wedding. She handled our invitations and even put them in envelopes and mailed them for us. She kept track of the RSVPs, seating arrangements, even made the decorations for the rehersal dinner. She was a like a magician; if we said we wanted it she would find it. My husband and I are both busy physicians and did not have the time to handle the millions of details that go into planning a wedding. She made it easy and stress free for us. We were thrilled to have found her. -

Stella Event Design saved my sanity! There were parts of my wedding that I really wanted to have control over and othe parts that didn't matter to me at all. Jessica at Stella Event Design was able to accomodate me with a "partial planning" package that fit perfectly with my needs. She is quick to respond to emails and phone calls and is flexible with times to meet in person. She is very familiar with the local area and its vendors and helped me stay on budget. When it comes to above and beyond, Jessica was awesome. She returned all of my rented items for me the next day as well as my alcohol that we didn't use. I ordered wholesale flowers and she was able to put them together to create my centerpieces and they looked beautiful. I really can't rave about her enough. My goal as a bride was to have an affordable wedding, which meant I would be doing most of it myself. I lost weekends printing, stuffing and addressing envelopes. I even lost sleep over what color of ribbons to use and where I would be able to find it. I knew of people that had event planners and I thought that I would have to have this fancy expensive wedding to be able to justify the added expense. Two months before the big day I decided to reach out for help. I emailed Jessica at midnight when I was at my wits end and that morning when I got to work I had the reply I needed. Jessicas help more than paid for itself. She helped me find a wonderful videographer last minute at a wonderful price. She also helped me with transportation and finding affordable centerpieces. More importantly I became a bride and a guest at my wedding. My parents and I were able to sit back and enjoy our night without having to worry about setting up, tearing down, making sure the cake gets cut and everything is running on time. My wedding turned out wonderfully and everyone had a great time. I cant thank Jessica enough for all of her help. She truly gave me a night I will never forget! -

Amazing is the one word I would use to describe Jessica! My fiancée and I knew we wanted a destination wedding on the beach that would be drivable from Chicago and Cincinnati but were at a complete loss as to where that would be. After multiple trips to different locations feeling completely overwhelmed, I had just about given up when I decided to speak to several coordinators. After speaking to Jessica, I knew right away she was the one I wanted to help plan my wedding. Her knowledge of the area, restaurants, hotels, golf courses and attractions made St. Joseph a beautiful, relaxing, and easy place to choose for my wedding. To say that Jessica just helped is an understatement! She went above and beyond to ensure that all my wants were met. We didn't have much vision when we arrived but she helped us fine tune what we were looking for, suggested flower picks, color choices, etc. Especially loved that she sent me a picture as they were prepping a few days before to make sure we were in line with what we wanted. We were able to make a small tweak that I wouldn't have had the chance to otherwise. Took some of the large arrangements home and enjoyed them several days later.
Also her wedding ceremony set-up was stunning!!! Just what I had envisioned for the beach wedding we wanted. the chairs were clean and nice, the bamboo arch worked perfectly, love loved the chiffon fabric draping and asymmetrically hung floral was perfect. Truly stunning...

Living in Chicago and planning a destination wedding in St. Joseph was challenging, but Jessica was a lifesaver during this process! We worked with Stella Event Design for day of coordination as well as chair covers for the reception. I wanted to plan my own wedding and to do many of the details myself, but once I got to the wedding day I wanted myself and my family to be guests and to hand the coordination off to Stella Event Design.
We booked Jessica in April of 2008 for our June 2009 wedding. Since I worked with her for such a long period of time, I feel very confident in saying that Jessica is extremely prompt in her responsiveness, gives great advice and goes above and beyond to ensure that her clients have the information and assistance they need. She is a southwest Michigan expert! She literally has contacts in every area of planning your wedding. We asked Jessica questions that went above and beyond her day-of coordinator role and she never hesitated to help us out. We especially appreciated the vendor referrals, the ideas for staying within our budget and the help immediately before the wedding. When we ran out of time right before the wedding, Jessica came to my mom's house to pick up the materials for the ceremony and reception set-up and even arranged ice cream cones for our guests at an ice cream shop. She sent me several e-mails in the weeks before the wedding asking if she could do anything to help and it was clear she wanted to be of assistance.
Once we hired Jessica, we were completely at ease that we had someone to coordinate our rehearsal, organize and set up our reception and ceremony and who would make sure the day run smoothly. The wedding set-up was gorgeous, as were the chair covers. Jessica and her staff handled issues that were not necessarily part of her official duties and helped smooth over issues with another vendor. I was glad to have someone at the wedding be the "go-to" person so we could enjoy the day! It was 100% worth every penny spent for both the peace of mind through the planning process and the ability to fully enjoy my wedding day. -

Southwest Michigan Septemer 2019 Wedding
Shaya, my floral designer, was extremely organized and helpful in making my floral and greenery dreams come true on our special day! We met in person a couple times to look colors & textures over, and spoke many times over the phone to assure we were on the same page with the ambiance I wanted to create. Stella Event Design's prices are competitive to the floral industry's standards but their quality of work is supreme. If I were to create another event in Southwest, MI where florals were needed, I'd choose them again!-

Working with Shaya was a dream. She was responsive, creative, timely, and available 24/7. On my wedding day, I forgot a bouquet for my bridesman. She went out of her way to go make it and deliver it with enough time to spare to set up all flower arrangements before our ceremony. PRE-WEDDING: I was stressing out big time when we decided to hire Stella Event Design. By the time we did, the wedding was only a few months away and mostly planned, but since my husband and I were getting married in Michigan and living in Chicago, we needed serious help with a few odds and ends, like finding a baker in the area and figuring out the marriage license process, etc...Jessica was a huge success in helping us tie up those loose ends so we knew we were going into our big day with everything taken care of.
DAY-OF: Our wedding was very DIY, so there was A LOT of setup. I mean, A LOT. I was worried that Jessica and her crew wouldn't be able to get everything set up in time and that if they did, it wouldn't match the wedding in my head, but everything turned out perfectly! And anytime we hit a roadblock, Jessica and her crew were there to help us, from ordering more alcohol when we started to run out before we even started dinner (oh brother!!) to helping coordinate rides for all of us at the end of the night when one of our shuttles broke down on the side of the highway. I ended up driving a group of my drunk friends back to the hotel, but so did Jessica! Which I can't thank her enough for. She went above and beyond what we hired her to do. The only reason she didn't get a perfect 5 on everything is because a few pieces of wedding decor are still missing. No big deal though, because I was just going to sell them online anyway! -

When I first told my mom I had hired Jessica, she was a little mad at me. Not because she had anything against Jessica, but wedding planners in general. She had wanted to do all things wedding, including setting up the day of the wedding and tearing down. After the wedding, I asked her how she felt about me hiring Jessica and she said, "I don't know how we could've done it without her." And that's not an exaggeration.
We got married at Millcreek Barns in Watervliet, which is very much an a la carte site. For day of services, Jessica received all the deliveries, set up the ceremony site, reception hall, coordinated timing for all the vendors, ordered us more alcohol when we were running low on beer, wine, rum and whiskey at 7 pm, double-sided taped my dress up... etc. etc. etc. Her services were so valuable the day of the wedding so we could actually enjoy our day without stress. I can only imagine the panic that would've occurred if she hadn't been there to solve our alcohol situation, but instead it was handled immediately.
I also hired Jessica for decor for the wedding. I'm a bride with eclectic tastes, I love all colors, all textures, all patterns. Jessica found a way to execute my vision without going overboard and being tacky (which I'm really good at!). I repeatedly received compliments on how beautiful our wedding was. Jessica took my vision (or lack of) and picked out beautiful table linens, put together our floral order, created several handmade touches and made my wedding something I can be proud of.
Why hire Jessica? Many people think a wedding planner is out of their budget. I planned my wedding on 18k and Stella Event Design was a pivotal piece to my wedding I could have never done without. Because I was a budget bride, I gave my decor budget to Jessica, and she kept me on budget. Rather than going over budget on flowers because I fell in love with something, she chose a floral arrangement within my budget. She created handmade touches to make my wedding special without being exorbitant. Everything came in at my budget, which is difficult to do when planning a wedding.
My entire family was able to enjoy our wedding as much as my husband and I did, because they got to participate in the fun stuff without all the hard work.
Jessica is friendly, responsive, knowledgeable, helpful, professional. All the things that a wedding planner should be. -

Jessica and her crew were wonderful and very helpful for our big day. We realized how having her there made us relax and enjoy the day with our guests. THey were an amazing help in setting up all of our DIY centerpieces and decorations. The scene was even more complete then I imagined. I've been to many weddings in the past where the bridal couple and their family and friends weren't able to sit down, eat, or do anything other than run around trying to coordinate things - NOT AT OUR WEDDING! Beyond all the advice, assistance, and experience Jessica provided us, she gave us the best wedding present EVER - the ability to relax and simply enjoy our wedding day. I can't tell you how wonderful it was to wake up the day of my wedding and just be able to enjoy the time with my bridesmaids and family with the peace of mind that Jessica had everything under control.
During the planning stages when I tried to communicate my vision of the wedding to her, Jessica understood immediately and really helped me to make my vision a reality. She had worked with several of our vendors in the past, so she already knew what to expect from the vendors and passed that on to us. She also recommended a deejay to us, DJ Music Unlimited, who was absolutely perfect for us! Beyond that, she was extremely responsive to my emails and she provided great advice and insight on the numerous sticky situations that I encountered during the planning.
Jessica's expertise, creativity, and patience were wonderful and I would use Jessica's services again in a heartbeat. I strongly recommend contacting her for help planning your wedding in SW Michigan! And I thank her again for all her help and hard work in making my wedding day truly the most wonderful day of my life! -

We are so grateful to Holden, Jessica and the entire Stella team! We contracted them to provide day-of coordination and floral-design services for our Michigan farm wedding, and we couldn't be happier with the result.
When we initially met with Jessica, we were impressed by her calm confidence. She clearly knows her stuff, and she made us feel so completely relaxed and comfortable. Unlike other planners that we met with, she never tried to up-sell us or make us feel as though our medium-sized budget was insufficient for our design vision.
Our day-of coordinator, Holden, absolutely nailed it. He made us feel so comfortable throughout the planning process. He was calm, candid and accommodating, even in spite of my occasionally picky requests!
Everything flowed so smoothly on our wedding day, and we have received so many compliments from our guests. The flowers were just... oh my gosh. So beautiful. I was initially a bit weary of booking Stella for floral design because it's a service they only recently started offering. But, wow, I was so pleased. Holden executed the arrangements perfectly. They were exactly what we had envisioned. At a certain point I had to stop and just allow myself to be amazed by how pretty everything was. The bouquets were just lovely, the ceremony arch was exactly what I'd hope for, and the centerpieces were the perfect balance of soft elegance and rustic texture. Just what we'd asked for.
Our families were so happy to have Stella there as well. My mom specifically complimented Holden on his calm leadership style, and we were all amazed with how beautifully and efficiently he and his team brought our vision for our farm wedding to life. Price point was super reasonable, too. I only reduced the professionalism rating by .5 stars because there was one minor floral element that didn't make it into the reception tent, but that's peanuts compared to how beautifully and perfectly everything else came together. I highly recommend Stella! -

Stella Event Design provided full service wedding planning for my October 2013 wedding. I was not a bride who was overly excited about the idea of planning my wedding - it seemed more stressful than fun! The idea of making endless calls to vendors frustrated me, and while I had some vague design and color ideas, I felt the need for someone with an artistic eye to bring everything together into a cohesive look...enter Stella Event Design! I was able to take more of a "hands-off" approach, turning many of the design aspects and decisions over to Jessica. I am so glad that I did, because the details were perfect and the day flowed beautifully. We did not have to worry about a thing - from the set up to to the clean up, everything was done for us, and we were able to relax and truly enjoy a stress-free day. Jessica also makes outstanding recommendations for vendors based on your style and budget. I adored every one of my vendors, and could not have been happier with her suggestions. One of my vendors even called Jessica "wedding gold", and I absolutely agree with this statement!
Whether you're someone like me who needs quite a bit of extra help for full-service wedding planning, or if you're someone who loves the process and just needs a little extra help on your wedding day so that things flow smoothly (or anyone in-between!), I would absolutely recommend planning services by Stella Event Design! -

I worked with Jessica Pennington at Stella Events as my coordinator, and she was great. I found myself with a to-do list a mile long 3 months before me wedding, and Jessica really helped me find all my final vendors and put together my timeline for the wedding. Since I was getting married 3 hours from where I live, I wasn't familiar with any of the businesses out there, so her knowledge of the local vendors was really invaluable. Jessica was also there at my rehearsal and assisted with timing the bridal procession during the ceremony, as well as coming to my venue the morning of my wedding and putting all my details and decor together.
The wedding was everything I hoped it would be and more, and I owe a lot of that to Jessica and Stella Events. -

Jessica from Stella Event Design was very flexible and easy to work with. My husband and I live out of state and she was willing to coordinate almost the entire wedding via email and phone calls.
Her vendor recommendations and event design suggestions were also extremely helpful. We really liked everyone we ended up working with, and the wedding turned out perfectly. We couldn't have been more pleased with the look of the entire event.
The only issue we had was a coordination/logistics one. The ceremony ended about 10 minutes early. Jessica's assistant was responsible for loading everyone onto buses for transporation to the reception location. That process could have gone much smoother with a simple phone call to the drivers, instead guests were left waiting.

I worked with Jessica on design services and Holden for my day-of coordination for my wedding in Saugatuck this past September. Both were a pleasure to work with, and helped make our wedding day so fun, easy, and beautiful!
The design process was SO fun. I added all sorts of pictures to a Pinterest board that Jessica then used to come up with our own very personal design scheme (flowers, colors, linens, centerpieces, etc.). I couldn't believe how it all ended up reflecting my taste and style so perfectly. We had to find all the vendors for our venue, so it was great not to have to worry about buying all the centerpiece items, picking out the flowers, etc.
We were initially going to use a family friend for our day-of coordination, but realized it's best to leave that important task to the professionals. Jessica and Holden were great about adding that service on for us, and even gave us a discount to reflect that we didn't need the vendor referrals (because we'd already secured quite a few). Holden was very organized leading up to the day, and always quick to respond. He had everything totally under control on the day so that all we had to do was show up. I was so glad he was there at the rehearsal to orchestrate it all in a timely fashion. He was never pushy, always happy to help with whatever we asked, and a pleasure to work with.
People told me we didn't need a wedding planner. Trust me, you do. It's money well spent, and I think all my guests who raved about how beautiful our wedding was would tell you the same. -

Wedding Flowers
The flowers we received were beautiful! They matched what we had talked about in our proposal well. There was one flower that wasn't blooming well, so she replaced it with something else, which we appreciated.
They were very easy to work with and the planning went very smoothly.
The only issue we had was that one of our corsages and one boutonniere fell apart before the ceremony began. We reached out and they were able to bring another boutonniere. We appreciated their willingness to bring an extra. -

Great floral but not what I expected
The floral team at Stella did do a good job with my flowers, however there should have been a lot more on my tables for what I paid and what we discussed. They quoted off pictures I showed them which were huge amounts of pampas grass garland with some flowers throughout. Not what I received.... it was skinny and not lush. It did look good...but I feel I didn't get what I paid for. Same for my bouquet. Once again, they didn't look bad...I just expected a lot more considering how many times I stressed "lush" and with the pictures I sent for my tables. The arch flowers turned out exactly like I imagined and the sprig of dried grass on my menus was really nice.-

My husband and I were planning a wedding to take place in South Haven, MI and we live in Chicago so it was imperative for us to have help! Brittany was with us as much or as little as we wanted every step of the way. We really could haven't done it without her! Our wedding day ran smooth from start to finish (and if it didn't I didn't know about it because it was all taken care of). I would recommend Stella event design and Brittany for any of your wedding needs, especically if you have a very busy lifestyle. -

Their planning services are great. There were a few things that went wrong on the weekend of the wedding, but most were fixed.
Overall, their services were invaluable and allowed me to enjoy our wedding. My only suggestion is that the planner needed to be a bit more assertative when necessary. -

Jessica and her team were fantastic, and we couldn't have pulled off our wedding without her! I no longer live in Michigan and have a very busy job in which I travel every week, so I needed a lot of help selecting and communicating with vendors whom I wasn't familiar with. She always had great recommendations and had established relationships with everyone I worked with, so she knew what areas the vendors were good at managing and the areas she needed to stay on top of with them. She was also very friendly and really allowed for me and my family to relax and enjoy our special day. She never made me feel like this was just another wedding for her. I would definitley recommend working with Jessica. She is super flexible and incredibly knowledgable about the SW Michigan area! S -

Great planning, not great flowers
This is a tricky review, because the planning was good, but the product was terrible.
I enjoyed the the planning process. It was easy and I always received a response. I was excited to see my flowers, I felt the prices were high, but I asked for a lot. The quality of flowers I received at my wedding was disappointing and not worth the price. We received incorrect boutonnieres, they were made to go in pockets (kept falling out and so small) instead of being pinned on like I requested. We did receive a refund for those. I found my bouquet and bridal party flowers were poor quality (already dry/browned) and not full at all. For a bride, the bouquet should be full and lush and mine was not. I would have liked having a floral contact there when I arrived to express these concerns, but when I arrived the setup person was gone. Overall, I would not recommend this company to do flowers for your big day. -

i live in chicago and was looking to plan a destination wedding on the west side of michigan. my finace and i expressed our wishes to our stella event "professional coordinator." we wanted a church ceremony and a nice indoor reception. since most of our guests would be traveling from out of town, hotels within walking distance were a priority for us. we had many issues with the services and "planning" provided for us. it was extremely unprofessional and unorganized. i changed my wedding date 3 times in the span of 1 month. it led to me calling many churches myself to try to find one who would marry us. it left us with one unreasonably priced hotel which had 15 rooms available for 200 guests. we lost 1000 dollars as a deposit to a reception hall and half of our 1250 deposit to stella event desings. i called her many times with emails in response which we a complete breakdown in communication. in our opinion jessica is a crook and if you are thinking of planning a wedding in the area save yourself a headache and a lot of money and find another planner. -
