As a planner, I’ve worked with Kimmi a few different times and it’s always a wonderful experience. She’s creative and always has awesome ideas. We worked together on an elopement at Emerald Bay and her photos were stunning. I love working with her, and will always refer her to my future couples. -

Kimmi from Starscape Studios did a wonderful job photographing our wedding. We had a small, intimate at home ceremony and Kimmi was able to capture the happiness expressed through all of our guests. Our best man was our pitbull-lab mix who was the absolute star of the evening, and his radiance was perfectly captured. Her work is very detail oriented and communication was top notch. These photos will bring smiles to faces for years to come. I highly recommend Starscape Studios to memorialize your special event! -

excellent photographer!
My husband and I eloped in Tahoe. Kimmi was the most wonderful photographer. We are ecstatic about the photos that she took. In addition to taking wonderful pics, Kimmi was flexible, reliable, and always accessible (especially helpful w/ planning from a different city). I will use her again when we revisit Tahoe in the future! -

Above and Beyond
Kimmi was spectacular! First of all, she was a pleasure to work with. She was a true professional and her organization was on point/ responsiveness was always quick. But let me tell you why you should hire her: Due to the Tahoe fires last august, we had to move the entire wedding to a new location in the Bay Area in three days. Throughout all the utter chaos, Kimmi worked with us to pivot to the new location and provide excellent service with wonderful photos. The candids were particularly special, she did a great job finding the truly magical moments. I can't recommend her enough to work your next event. You will be in safe, professional, helpful hands- with great results! -

After being engaged for over a year and the restrictions with the pandemic making it difficult to plan a wedding, we decided to charter a boat and get married on Lake Tahoe. We planned a small destination wedding with only about 25 people and since this was a second wedding for both of us and being an older couple, we really weren’t sure we needed to capture the day with professional photographs.
After thoroughly searching the internet, I found Starscape Studios and after talking with Kimmi Cranes we happily decided to hire her. I explained the situation that we were getting married on a boat on a Tuesday in the middle of May 2021 with a very small wedding party and not wanting posed formal shots and she explained that she could take candids and keep it light and fun. She also was very informative about wedding planning in Lake Tahoe and sent me a list of other vendors while not giving an opinion on which ones she liked best, so we could make our own decisions. While talking to her, I felt so at home and felt like she was family. She is so caring and friendly, she truly listens and hears your wants and needs, she is a beam of sunshine and seems always content and happy. I got all this from the first phone call!
After that, we communicated via text/email/phone and she quickly followed up to any questions that I had and issues with how she was going to take interesting photos with everyone being required to wear masks on the boat. She was so easy to work with and clarified how she would work it out. Luckily, a few days before our wedding day the restrictions were eased and masks were no longer required. The day of the wedding she arrived early and made herself invisible as she took photos. She always had a smile on her face and was so friendly with everyone. Our officiant was running a bit late and I was getting a nervous so Kimmi kindly offered to call her to make sure she was on her way, which she was thankfully. She went above and beyond to make our day super special. The photographs came out beautiful! They were just what we wanted, seeing our wedding captured so stunningly as well as seeing our family and friends enjoying themselves on our special day. I am so relieved that we decided to hire a photographer. We were so blessed to have found Kimmi and Starscape Studios. I still feel like she is family and I highly recommend you hire her for your special day! You will not regret it! -

Every aspect of my wedding was an absolute 'God thing' Having Kimmi capture every moment of the ceremony and reception was simply amazing. I will cherish these photos forever and ever. They are timeless! -
