Personalized Care and Excellent Dishes!

Heather and the entire Spilled Milk team made our wedding catering an unforgettable experience for us and our guests. During our tasting, Heather listened closely to our preferences for the dishes we tried and the special, food-focused moments we wanted for our big day—including an affogato bar and swan-themed cookies alongside our wedding cake.

Heather was incredibly responsive and professional throughout the entire process. She accommodated our needs perfectly, adjusting certain cocktail hour bites to be vegan for the mother of the bride, tweaking my signature drink to use my favorite type of rum (without me even asking!), and even bringing additional cake flavors for us to try at our final walkthrough. The level of care Heather brought to planning our wedding catering was truly next level.

My husband and I love food, and it is very clear that Spilled Milk is passionate about telling a story through their dishes and creating a memorable experience for their clients. The dinner service at our wedding was stunning; the staff was fantastic with the timing of each course and the presentation of every dish. The bar staff was also extremely friendly and made sure that our families were well taken care of throughout the evening. Our friends and family have been raving about the food ever since, and so have we! We highly recommend Spilled Milk for your next event!

Great Caterer

We used spilled milk catering for our wedding in April and had a great experience. The food was excellent and many of our guests commented about it after the wedding! The service was also good and efficient. The catering company helped us with picking out linens/tableware which was beautifully done.

Best food at a wedding hands down

If you want your food to be remembered on your wedding day then Spilled Milk should be the only choice of caterer. Heather was helpful from the very beginning giving us so many ideas that we never would have thought about. She also answered every question we had no matter how small. She was so patient during the linen selection process as we changed our minds a million times. We knew after the tasting that the food was going to be phenomenal (everyone keeps talking about it!) but we had no idea how amazing the service was going to be day of. The catering team we had day of was incredible. All the tables were beautiful, the guests loved the service at dinner, and the bartenders were so amazing. Misha in particular went above and beyond to make all our guests feel so special during the night by being so kind while getting drinks. From beginning to end, Spilled Milk handled everything and I did not have to worry about anything the day of thanks to them.

Naming our first born child "Heather"

Our experience with Spilled Milk from start to finish was amazing! From receiving the quote that reflected what we needed for that day to the flawless execution on our wedding day, we could not have asked for better service. Most of this was due to Heather Ellis, who was our POC and helped us through every decision required. Her professionalism is so evident and she has a keen eye for what will blend well together. From the menu to the rentals to the run of show, everything was well organized and transparent. When we had to switch venues unexpectedly, Heather was so helpful in reaching out to contacts and providing options that would work. All of the staff were so professional and helpful and we got so many compliments on the food and decor for that day. We were so happy with Spilled Milk and are so so grateful for Heather!

Wonderful Wedding Caterer!

We (and all of our guests) were blown away by Spilled Milk! Excellent food and service

Heather and the entire SMC team were such a pleasure to work with. We were wowed by their food during our tasting, and even more impressed by the fact that they were able to deliver the same quality at scale. We still have guests reaching out to us weeks after our wedding to tell us how impressed they were by the food. We had several guests tell us theirs was the hottest meal they have ever received at a wedding. Heather also helped us coordinate all of our rentals and made sure that not only did the food taste amazing, but it was also beautifully presented. Our tablescapes were stunning and felt so custom to us, and the SMC staff delivered best in class service the day of the wedding. We couldn't have asked for more.

Highly recommend!

We had a great experience working with Spilled Milk Catering for our wedding. Heather and the SMC team worked closely with us to select a menu and made several thoughtful suggestions to help us customize our selections. They also were instrumental in helping us figure out which linens, furniture, and table settings to rent at a rental showroom appointment. SMC also wasn't afraid to think outside the box. As one example, when we asked if we could do a wedding cheesecake instead of a traditional wedding cake, they immediately said yes and helped us figure out how to pull it off. They were also accommodating when we asked them for creative options for our guests with dietary restrictions. Our guests all raved about the food and drinks at our wedding. We were impressed by their creative and skill and would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Best Choice We Could Have Made

Amit was enormously helpful in guiding us through the process and helping us make the decisions to optimize the logistics and functionality aspects of our wedding. When the wedding planner didn’t show up for our walk-through, Amit personally took charge and helped us put together the vision of our wedding. The staff were incredibly professional and polite, and EVERYONE from our wedding raved and raved about the food. My wife and I couldn’t have been happier with our appetizer and meal choices. Absolutely recommend!

Spilled Milk Catering was exceptional as our caterer this summer. Going into wedding planning, we had no idea how many choices we would have to make involving food, drinks, linens, signage, and furniture, just to name a few items, and SMC’s Heather and Brittney made it as easy as possible for us. SMC was transparent with pricing each step of the way and provided frank advice on where we did not need to be spending if we didn’t care too much for one thing or another. The cocktail appetizers, drinks, meal, and ceremonial cake were so tasty and beautifully presented. Everyone on the staff was friendly and efficient and looking sharp as they buzzed around seamlessly. SMC helped with our search for a sofa for a tea ceremony, which we ended up not getting, but we appreciated their assistance in finding options from local event furniture rental companies. We brought our own assortment of desserts and SMC nicely presented them for our guests to ensure everything was fresh and looked classy. Can’t go wrong with these seasoned pros who have a creative flair!

Bespoke down to the last detail

We hired Spilled Milk to cater our wedding of around 100 people in The Barns at Wolf Trap and Heather and her team were perfect from start to finish. From the very beginning they worked with us to cater a fully bespoke wedding menu to our needs, our likes, our dislikes, and our accessibility needs for some of our guests (vegetarian, allergies, halal offerings, etc). Heather was extremely easy to get in contact with, and always quick to respond with helpful suggestions, ways to mitigate extra cost, and helpful breakdowns of what we were getting every step of the way.

When meeting with her team at their offices/kitchen, we had fun, informative, and delicious time tasting a variety of options for our wedding day and narrowing down our final choices. Even when we decided to make some changes after the tasting they were extremely amenable and able to make those things happen.

The food at our wedding was my number 1 priority (after getting married to my now wife that is), and every single person I talked to on the day had nothing but incredible things to say about every bite they had that day. From passed appetizers, to the sit down dinner, deserts, and even the most delicious tater tots and grilled cheese sandwiches for a late night snack, it was all a hit.

Again, I truly can't recommend Spilled Milk enough, they are truly worth every single cent we spent with them and I would gladly hire them again and again and again. They say there's no use crying over spilled milk, but when you eat their food you'll have nothing but tears of joy!

Spilled Milk exceeded expectations in every way!

Spilled Milk exceeded expectations. When it comes to wedding food - we had relatively modest expectations for a party with 220 guests - at a museum no less without any real kitchen facilities. Spilled Milk blew us away during the tasting and we are thrilled to say the food was just as good on the day of the event. Everything was fresh and tasted delicious. We received numerous compliments during and after the event from our guests - everyone wanted to know who we used! We also loved their attention to detail and creative presentation. The service staff and bartenders were also terrific. I would not hesitate to use Spilled Milk again and would recommend them to anyone planning a wedding in the greater DC area.

Heather and the whole Spilled Milk team was incredible. Our venue was beautiful but difficult to work with, and the moment that the caterer came into the picture all of that stress went away. Absolute perfection!

We used Spilled Milk to cater our wedding on 10/21/23 for 80 people and their team was phenomenal. Heather did an amazing job with the planning, coordination, and follow-through with our catering and equipment rentals (chairs, tables, linens, etc.) Heather was also very responsive to our email inquiries and sensitive to the few special requests that we had. Both the tasting and wedding day meals were absolutely delicious. In fact, we had several guests at our wedding inquire about who catered the wedding because the food was just so good! Additionally, the service was excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I cannot say enough good things about Spilled Milk and highly recommend them for catering your wedding or other special event!

Incredible caterer to work with!

Spilled Milk was the most incredible caterer and we are so happy we hired them for our wedding. Throughout the entire planning process, Amit and his team was responsive, communicative and overall lovely. Our first tasting was absolutely incredible and an event itself. We planned it on my 30th birthday and they went above and beyond to make me feel so special. They offer a large array of delicious, creative and unique pass arounds, stations and desserts as well as specialty cocktails. From there we were able filter down what we wanted to serve at the wedding (was not easy since everything was so good). Amit was so great to work with as well, he was involved with the layout of the wedding day and the rentals. They made our wedding day a dream. The service was amazing, the food was incredible and all our guests couldn't stop talking about the catering. Best catering company in the DMV area.

Perfection

Amit and his team were recommended to us by our wedding planner, CherryBlossomEvents, and we could not imagine the day without them. From first looking through menu possibilities, we were guided on guest count and seasonal recommendations, while also giving us the sky-is- the-limit creativity to make our day what we dreamed of.
We will talk about the food for the rest of our lives (as will our families and friends) but the real icing on the cake was the service. Starting with Marija, who helped with our tasting, she could not have been more attentive, sweetly suggestive, and encouraging for our menu planning. Secondly, Amit carried us through the planning and into the walk through process, assisting in all logistics and completely navigating any and all needs- including coordinating with vendors, mapping table scapes and rental placement, and fearlessly situating head tables, dance floors, and tents! Lastly, he was there on our day with a full staff who were caring, enthusiastic, friendly, and accommodating to our 200 person guest count. They made our family feel special, our guests feel taken care of, and my husband and and I felt beyond spoiled to have SpilledMilk serving on our wedding. We are still having guests talking about how the servers placed plates coordinated to perfection. It was an experience they haven’t seen at many weddings. From appetizers flowing during cocktails, to raw bar extravaganzas, to serving our special dessert from a local vendor, it was all experience focused and I can’t imagine anyone else in making our day what it was. A Seamless magical experience, and we have SM and Amit to thank.

Spilled Milk just catered our wedding and we cannot recommend them highly enough! Where to even begin?!

Food & Drinks
All of the food and drinks were DELICIOUS. Everything was cooked to perfection and everyone’s meals were served hot. All meals were served right on time, and none of our guests were ever waiting to be served. All of the passed apps got rave reviews by our guests, but the late night snacks were the real star of the show - mini pizzas with customized boxes, boozy milkshakes, and tater tots.

Staff & Service
The entire Spilled Milk staff was extremely professional, hardworking, and kind. All servers anticipated our guests needs throughout the entire evening- constantly refilling glasses, clearing plates, etc. We could not believe how quickly the team transformed the main ballroom space- setup and breakdown was flawless.

And finally, Amit and Marija's guidance throughout the entire wedding planning process was unmatched. From our wedding tasting with Amit, to our final walk through led by Marija, to managing our rentals, we felt so supported by Spilled Milk every step of the way.

Great food, great team!

We had a wonderful experience working with Spilled Milk for our wedding in late August. We loved the unique and creative options that Spilled Milk offered for everything — from our cocktail hour drinks and passed bites, to our dinner entrees and desserts, we were able to really customize our catering, making our wedding day all the more special. Our wedding on May 20th went so well and a huge piece of that was because of the experience Spilled Milk's team created for our wedding. We received SO many compliments from our guests on all the food served and every single staff member at our event was so kind and helpful too.

The best wedding food!

Stop what you’re doing and book a tasting with Spilled Milk right away! I might be biased because it was our wedding but the food from Spilled Milk was honestly the best wedding food I’ve ever had. In fact, months after our wedding I’m still hearing friends and family members rave about the food! All of the food was incredible but I wanted to note my favorites: ahi tuna on a lotus chip, bulgogi tacos, and catfish sliders for appetizers, the squash ravioli, and the short rib. I’m normally not a huge fan of wedding cake but the complimentary ceremonial cake they provided for us was incredible. We picked the lemon pound cake with lemon curd and raspberry jam filling.

Heather was great to work with when it came to picking out rentals. Our venue didn’t have any equipment so we had to pick out chairs, linens, place settings, and utensils. We subcontracted for rentals with Select Event Groups through Spilled Milk. Heather came with us to the showroom and helped us pick out everything. She has an incredible eye and did a wonderful job of guiding us through our choices.

Besides the incredible food, the staff did a phenomenal job with the service and prepping the space. We had an outside wedding but it rained so we had to go with the rain plan which meant our tent which was supposed to just be for the reception had to be used for the ceremony as well. The SMC staff did an excellent job of setting up for the ceremony and then flipping the entire space for the reception in just the hour or so we had for cocktail hour. They also assigned two wait staff to me and my husband who were always there with an app or drink when we needed it!

If I need catering for any event in the future Spilled Milk will be the first I call!

Book them!!!

Spilled Milk easily has the best food, not only for your wedding, but for any event you plan on having. Personally, I wish I could eat their food for dinner every day it was that delicious. Every detail of cocktail hour and dinner was not missed!! They personalized the menu to resemble my husband and I, and most importantly it was yummy. We had chicken and waffles as a dinner option and people just loved that. The crew is SO friendly, and they’re on the floor the entire time of your event, so if you need something you’re not looking for a waiter. Amit was even extremely helpful during our final walk through with our venue. We enjoyed every second of working with them!!

Guests raved about the food!

We used Spilled Milk to cater our DC wedding for 85 guests. They provided dessert as well. We were not disappointed. Some of our guests had dietary limitations and Spilled Milk was able to accommodate them (gluten restriction, kosher requests). Guests raved about the food. Many of our friends and family told us this was the best wedding meals they have ever had. We agree! A+ food and A+ service!!!

Wedding celebration in Washington DC

Spilled Milk catered a beautiful celebration for our daughter. The food and service were exceptional. Cannot recommend Amit and his team enough. Delicious food that is worth it!

Deeeeeeelicious!!!

Food was probably the most important thing for us with our blended Persian/American wedding, and we really struggled to find a caterer that could fit our needs and budget, but Spilled Milk absolutely knocked it out of the park. For one thing, every other caterer we interviewed said they could do Persian food, and then would propose a menu with things like channa masala and dal. Wrong country!! But SMC proposed ACTUAL Persian food, so they were already a frontrunner before even the tasting, and the tasting itself sealed the deal. Absolutely everything we tasted in the planning stages was phenomenal, and the food served at our wedding was exactly what we expected - no loss of quality at all. Heather, our account rep, was with us every step of the planning process including meeting with us at the showroom for Select Event Group, SMC's rental partner--Heather always had great advice and suggestions to make us feel more at ease about the frankly overwhelming planning process! The staff who worked our wedding day were efficient, courteous, and responsive as well, and everyone's dietary restrictions were accommodated without a hitch. Not a single complaint, we can't recommend SMC enough!

Excellent food and experience

We had passed appetizers and stations with Spilled Milk Catering and thought it was excellent. The pulled pork donut is to die for (I ate a half dozen). Their shawarma and southern comfort options were delicious. They contracted with a vendor for sushi and it too was excellent. It was also a pleasure working with Amit to select the menu. The event itself was well-staffed and smooth.

Amazing food and service!

We could not have been more pleased with Spilled Milk Catering. Not only was the food delicious but the presentation of everything was unique and creative. Excellent food and service

My husband and I knew from the jump that having good food at our wedding was one of our highest priorities, but were gobsmacked by how expensive catering in the DMV area is. We luckily chanced upon Spilled Milk Catering. We did a cross reference across at least 4 different catering companies and found that SMC provides the best value for the services offered. Our point of contact Heather is responsive and professional, and I really appreciated her interest in keeping things efficient. Her honest opinions when we got to the equipment rental stage was also super appreciated. She could've tried to sell us things we didn't really need, but she didn't. She really heard us on what we wanted to prioritize, which I don't think is always the case in this industry. On the day of our wedding, our guests raved about the food (the Parmesan chicken in particular). I highly recommend working with Heather and SMC for your catering needs.

Fantastic!

The food for our wedding was delicious (guests raved!) and our point of contact, Heather, was very helpful from our first phone call right up to the day of. Our menu was very much catered to our likes and needs. I have a gluten intolerance and they were able to cater to that without a problem and I was able to eat almost every single thing on my wedding day (which was awesome)!

The staff also worked like a well-oiled machine and the fact that a personal server for the bride and groom was included was incredibly helpful (probably wouldn't have eaten if not for her bringing food directly to us). Would for sure recommend Spilled Milk Catering to a friend!

Raised the Bar for Wedding Food

We hired Spilled Milk for hors d'oeuvres, a plated dinner, and chairs/tables/linens/place settings. Heather was very responsive, including to week-of changes to table sizes and adding cold drinks for the ceremony. They had a lot of options for linens and table settings at the baseline price. Heather was very on top of things and knew our venue well, so clearly outlined what the best layout would be for everything and coordinated seamlessly with our day-of coordinator. They had a ton of options for hors d'oeuvres and meals and the vendor meals were included in the price. It was a much better value than many of the other caterers we got quotes from. They were also very responsive in terms of guests' dietary restrictions. Most importantly, the food and service were excellent. You don't often rave about wedding food, but we received multiple compliments from guests and thoroughly enjoyed everything that was served. The servers kept everyone's glasses filled, and one even hung out near me and my husband while we were doing photos so he could bring us much-needed drinks and snacks in between photo groups. A great experience - would recommend!

Amazing Menu and High Quality Service

We selected Spilled Milk to cater our daughter's wedding in Middleburg, VA and were not disappointed!! Heather Ellis and their chef worked with us to create a unique Greek and Afghan fusion menu which was a huge hit with our guests! SMC pays extra special attention to the details from their presentation of the appetizers to plating the main course. They also worked extremely well with our wedding planner to make sure every detail of the cocktail hour and reception expressed the vision we were hoping to achieve; we could not have been more pleased. All of our guests raved about the food which was delicious and the service which was attentive and professional.

Heather also was instrumental in helping us find a rental company to supply a tent for the wedding at the last minute. The team went above and beyond to make our daughter's wedding an affair to remember. We highly recommend SMC and hope to use them again!

I can’t say enough good things about Spilled Milk Catering! First, Heather is phenomenal to work with. She was incredibly responsive from our very first interaction and always followed up right on schedule. Heather helped us navigate through a few specific dietary challenges to put together a menu we were really excited about–and the food did not disappoint on the day of! From the hors d'oeuvres to late night snacks, our guests were raving about the food. The table settings were beautifully done. Incredible food and service. Made our wedding perfect!

I got married March 5 at Long View Gallery in DC and we could not have done it without Spilled Milk. Right from the beginning, Amit laid out exactly how we should lay out the space, how the food service would run, and what the timing should be for almost the whole day. He had done a number of weddings at Long View already and we knew we were in incredibly capable and skilled hands. Amit and the Spilled Milk team went above and beyond our wildest dreams. The food service was like clock work: Amit checked everything as it went out, plates dropped at each table all at once so no one at a table was left without (we did plated dinner), and the responsiveness and quality of service was out of this world. I literally do not know how we would have organized everything with Amit and his team. Truly amazing service. PLUS the food was AMAZING. All of our guests raved about their meals and the passed hors d'oeuvres. Everything was delicious and looked beautiful. Spilled Milk works with DC Rentals to book all rentals (tables, chairs, linens, plates, etc.) and Amit was with us to help pick everything out and understood our vision. I can't thank Amit and Spilled Milk enough for all they did to make our day run seamlessly and be as perfect as it was. Book them!!

Mini Goat Cheese Ice Cream Sandwiches

Every part of planning and execution with Spilled Milk was seamless and delicious. They listened to our needs and wants (gluten free options, non-alcoholic cocktails) and everything was fantastic. They exclusively work with Events DC for event rentals, which is really convenient. During planning, we had one afternoon for tasting and another afternoon to visit the rentals warehouse to pick out everything from silverware to chairs. It was great! Wedding food isn't always memorable, but everything Spilled Mild served was absolutely delicious!

The food was delicious!

Spilled Milk did an awesome job for our wedding! They were very flexible, we knew we wanted to have a couple of stations and Spilled Milk provided probably 10-15 options that all sounded delicious. We ultimately decided on a Mediterranean mezze and mac and cheese station, which were both delicious. The passed appetizers and desserts were all delicious as well!

Heather is the GOAT

Catering was the most important aspect of our wedding in terms of where we allocated budget. Spilled Milk truly was the best catering company we could have ever found. Heather is a DREAM to work with. She is so smart and knows her industry so well, every recommendation that she made was spot on. The whole staff was so kind and professional on the day. And the food... don't even get me started. It was delicious in every single way. Everyone loved the meals, and the cocktail hour was amazing too. This company is truly full service, with rentals, the bar, staff, and food...they are a one stop shop that I cannot recommend enough.

Delicious, accommodating, and a pleasure to work with

Heather is awesome. She's responsive, thoughtful, accommodating, and even kind of funny (which is very appreciated when you're having a pre-wedding freak out). Her organizational skills, flexibility and advice were all key to making our wedding run smoothly. And the food! The food is delicious; we got so many compliments both during and after the reception about how tasty it was, and more than one person tried to take some home (despite not bringing tupperware to a wedding). They also were very attentive to what we wanted - we have a somewhat eclectic taste in food (Southern! Persian! Mexican!) and they whipped up options that were SO good and fit the bill perfectly. (Our "small bites" included elote, kofta, and a "barbeque chicken donut," and somehow all of them were equally incredible). Spilled Milk also took care of the rentals and linens, and worked with us as we tinkered with the guest list and our needs. In short, I really can't recommend them enough.

Everything we could have hoped for!

Spilled Milk was the caterer for our wedding reception in August 2021. When picking a caterer, we were between a few different vendors and were at first hesitant to go with Spilled Milk because they are a little bit pricier - but after doing tastings with Spilled Milk and one other vendor popular in the area, Spilled Milk was by far and away the winner - and they absolutely did not disappoint day-of. Everything turned out exactly how we wanted, and our guests were raving about how delicious the food was and the quality of the service. We could not recommend Spilled Milk more! Absolutely worth every penny - you will not regret hiring them!

Great experience and great food!

We used Spilled Milk for our wedding on 8/29/2021 and could not have been happier with how everything turned out. Heather and her team were wonderful to work with in the lead-up to our wedding, including being so flexible and understanding with our 3 wedding date postponements due to Covid. We appreciated their responsiveness and organization throughout our planning process. And, of course and perhaps most importantly, the food on our wedding day was amazing! great food and customer service

SMC delivered quality service and AMAZING food. Our July 31, 2021 wedding was originally planned for May 30, 2020, and we postponed the wedding twice. Over the entire time we coordinated with Spilled Milk- over two years- Heather was super responsive, patient, and kind. She and her whole team are absolute rock stars. We held our wedding at the Torpedo Factory, which meant we had to provide everything for the wedding- SMC managed both our catering and all of our wedding furniture and linens, meaning that they were responsible for most of the big day- and they did an excellent job. They accommodated so many requests for us, including a special request from my husband, who is a bartender, to make his own cocktails and transport cocktail materials to them. Their staff was excellent, kind, and quick, and every bite of the food was as delicious as I remembered when tasting it so long ago. I had been dreaming of the crab tacos for a long time and I have to admit they were even better than I remembered. So many of my guests continue to rave about the food- it was a sure highlight! On top of all of this, we simply knew we were in good hands going into the day because Heather made everything leading up to it feel easy. If I could give SMC 6 stars, I would.

Better than we ever could have hoped!

The SMC team is absolutely incredible. We worked with Heather, who we loved from day 1 – she helped us pick out all of our décor, worked with us on customizing our menu, and was all around extremely helpful and attentive. The food was delicious – and that’s coming from people who have never been impressed with wedding food. The apps were presented so creatively/professionally, the dinners were so good that we asked for the trio plate for ourselves because we couldn’t decide, and the service was so amazing. They had a person designated to make sure we (the bride & groom) had everything we needed all day – even during photos, we had someone jumping in between shots to make sure we got a sip of water or an app (thank goodness because otherwise there would have been no time). Overall, the presentation, taste, quality, and service were unmatched and we’d go with SMC again in a heartbeat if we ever get the chance to host a big event again.

Where food dreams come true!

I had an amazing experience with Spilled Milk, from our original plan of a 100+ person wedding in 2020 to a pandemic pivot to 40 people. Their food is fresh, fun, innovative. Heather communicated with me throughout the process and we made adjustments for rain. Dinner portions were generous and delicious. Amazing responsiveness - Delicious food

From the first email with Heather, Spilled Milk was amazing. I cannot stress how much interacting with her helped us make our decision very easy. They offered a free tasting prior to signing which a lot of smaller boutique caterers don't offer due to the cost. Although they have the resources of a larger company, the service we received, the tailored proposal, stylish presentation, and trendy small bites were all on par with the pricier boutique caterers in town. We received so many compliments on the food after the wedding, we wish we could eat the food again on our anniversary!

Heather and her team were phenomenal to work with! The food and mini dessert were amazing. Everybody raved about them both all night long. Backyard Intimate Wedding

We used Spilled Milk for my backyard intimate wedding September 2020 & Spilled Milk did not disappoint. Professionalism, superb twist on classic food, some of our favorites like chicken and waffles and mini crab cakes ... sincerely the best catering experience! Our theme was California in Maryland as we had to switch to a backyard wedding due to Covid and Spilled Milk hit our theme on the dot. Highly recommend them to other DMV brides!

The Most Magical Micro Wedding Evening Imaginable

From the passed hors d’oeuvres during our cocktail hour to the multi course seated dinner served at our daughter’s micro wedding, the preparation, presentation, delivery and the wait staff’s professionalism, made the evening as magical for all 10 of us as we had all imagined it should be. Best Decision We Ever Made

Amit and the Spilled Milk Team are absolutely incredible - and there's nothing they can't tackle. After cancelling our larger out-of-state wedding, we hired Spilled Milk for our local microwedding with only 6 weeks to plan. Not only is their food as good as a 5-star restaurant, they were also our 1-stop shop for all rentals (tables, chairs, linens, glassware, etc), lighting, and sound and A/V. They're poised, responsive, experienced and our wedding wouldn't have been the success it was without them. A Perfect Micro-Wedding

Our daughter's wedding in Breckenridge scheduled for August 1 had to be cancelled due to COVID-19. On June 27th we reached out to Spilled Milk via their website and within 5 minutes we were on the phone with Amit Gulati, the owner. Within the first 10 minutes, we knew that Spilled Milk was the caterer/arranger for us. Amit's team handled the menus, rental equipment, AV, and worked seamlessly with our wedding planner, florist, and venue to put together a perfect wedding. When your Plan B wedding turns out better than your Plan A would have

Working with Amit and his team was the highlight of planning our wedding! I am amazed that we were able to plan the wedding that we did in under 4 weeks. Amit was very responsive, had amazing ideas, and took care of everything from the furniture rentals, to the DJ, and obviously the amazing food! The entire process was easy, fun, and it turned out better than we could have ever imagined.

Now on to the good stuff, the food, and the service. We have been to a lot of weddings, and the food is usually okay, very rarely something to rave about. Our guests are still talking about how delicious everything was, it was a dinner to remember! The passed appetizers were a huge hit and the presentation made for great photos. For dinner, we had short ribs and salmon, and they did not disappoint!!! Both were tender and delicious and everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection.

The evening ran so seamlessly, our guests were not only complimenting the food but the service as well. The entire team from Spilled Milk was attentive, kind, and always kept our glasses full.

We highly recommend Spilled Milk, if we could give more than 5 stars we would!

Creative, Playful, and Delicious!

Spilled Milk knocked it out of the park – a year on, we’re still getting compliments on the food. Among the catering proposals they stood out immediately for their creativity, attentiveness, and personalization. My husband and I wanted international flavors for the menu, and Amit’s proposal for food stations showcasing South Asian, African, and Middle Eastern flavors was amazing. He even went to extra lengths to add drama to the presentation. The creative approach was perfectly executed – a variety of enticing global flavors (actually flavorful, not typical wedding food!) but still accessible to guests with less adventurous palates. Spilled Milk proved equally adept at more traditional appetizers and late night bites; I was impressed at their versatility. The staff did an incredible job, handling an unexpected rainstorm that required on-the fly adjustments seamlessly – no easy task at an outdoor wedding. I would love to work with them again, and absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a caterer!

Experienced and professional caterers with great food!

Great experience and amazing food

Every single person has raved about our food

From the moment we had our tasting with Amit, we knew Spilled Milk Catering was the way to go. As self-professed "foodies," my fiance and I wanted to make sure the food at our wedding was fun and interesting, but also really high quality. Spilled Milk delivered this at an extremely reasonable price and with great customer service both during the planning process and on the night of our wedding. Amit even accommodated an extra tasting for our parents after we booked him, which we really appreciated. At our wedding, all catering staff was attentive, polite, and extremely helpful, and dinner service was flawless. Every single person I have spoken to says the food was great and I have been told multiple by several guests that they've never had better food at a wedding. I will add that I really did my research before booking Spilled Milk. My fiance and I attended tastings with three caterers total and spoke with maybe ten vendors before making a decision. Spilled Milk surpassed all in quality, customer service, uniqueness, and flexibility. Do yourself a favor and book Spilled Milk!

"The food at your wedding was so good!"

Spilled Milk is one of the caterers on the list at Arena Stage where we got married. After comparing and tasting others, we decided to work with Spilled Milk because it seemed the right mix of quality and value, and because Amit, the owner, totally understood the "South Asian fusion" menu we were going for. We made the right choice. So many people made a point to tell us afterwards how much they loved the food. Amit personally worked with us all along the way, from arranging a second tasting when we decided to go in a different direction on some items, to advising us how to save $ on cake, to helping us choose plates and linens. On the day of the wedding, his team was well staffed - no one went without a drink - and everything went according to plan. Strongly recommend.

Heather Ellis, our catering coordinator, made the whole planning process easy for us, listening to our food preferences to craft our menu, assisting with linen and tableware rentals, and making suggestions from her years of experience. It was important to us that every bit of our wedding felt personalized to our tastes so that we could share a bit of ourselves with our guests, and Spilled Milk was able to craft a menu based on our favorite foods - from Maryland crabcakes to chimichurri steak. We had so many guests tell us that the food was the best wedding food they've ever had - and we agree! Cannot recommend Spilled Milk enough - no one will leave your wedding hungry!

The Highlight of the Party!

My husband and I used Spilled Milk for our wedding this past October, and I can’t possibly say enough incredible things about them! Heather and her team were incredible to work with as we planned our wedding -always responsive, always engaged and so genuine and thoughtful! From hosting an incredibly memorable and fun tasting to help us narrow down our preferences, to helping us plan a perfectly customized menu that showcased our personalities, their incredible work was the highlight of our wedding reception and our food is still being raved about to this day by our friends and family! Not only does Spilled Milk make delicious food, but they can prepare almost anything your Heart desires. Spilled Milk came highly recommended to us from a friend that had used them at their own wedding. We are so thrilled we used Amit and his team for our big day. Not only is the food outstanding, both from the presentation, creativity, and flavors perspective of each dish, but also the Spilled Milk team is incredibly professional and on the ball. We had so many guests go out of our way to tell us how good the appetizers and meals were (which is not usually something you hear about wedding food!). Their food is top-restaurant quality. Additionally, Amit was a joy to work and collaborate with. He helped us tailor our menu to highlight both the bride and groom's background, he customized dishes and took our feedback to make sure we were happy with the end result. Everything was easy, fun and delicious from start to finish.

We used Spilled Milk for our daughter's wedding at the National Arboretum. Everything needed to be brought in for the wedding including a full kitchen. They handled everything. He and his staff were wonderful before and during the wedding. The food was delicious, the staff extremely friendly and the transitions between ceremony, cocktails, dinner and dessert were seamlessly. He made the whole process from start to finish extremely fun and easy for us. I have had so many friends and relatives tell us how much they enjoyed the food and how nice and helpful all the staff were. The presentation of all the hors d'oeuvre's was so unique. So many people commented on the mushroom risotto with the egg. He provided us with floor plans so we could see how everything would work together. The tent was really beautiful and the setup very comfortable. We would highly recommend using Spilled Milk.

Wedding Caterer

Working with Amit and Spilled Milk was a blast! From the first tasting (which was such a fun experience) to picking out linens & silverware, to the raves we got from the guests about the food- Spilled Milk is who you should trust. The Hors d'oeuvre were to die for, guests could not stop talking about the butternut squash soup and salad, and the boozy milk shakes to top the night off were a perfect hit! The service was excellent. The bride & groom even had their own personal server who made sure they constantly had drinks, water, and food. I was a bride who actually got to eat and drink at her wedding!

Delicious, unique, well served

Most caterers have great food, and Spilled Milk is no exception, their food is delicious. However, for me, what really set Spilled Milk apart was the way they were able to create an experienced that felt very personalized and unique to who we are as a couple, and the wedding we wanted. Firstly, Heather understood my vision from day 1 to have a not-quite-normal wedding. I reached out to a number of caterers to compare, and she was the only one that I really felt like "got me" and the toned-down-but-not-totally-casual event I wanted. From there she went on to offer wonderfully personalized food and beverage options that made our day feel truly unique. Leading up to the event her communications were clear and concise, she was happy to fit my vision but also helpfully offered her expertise to help guide decision making. Day-of the staff was wonderful and friendly, the food was hot and plentiful, and really, everything went off without a hitch!

Great Food and Staff

I was so happy with Spilled Mike Catering! I used them for my wedding and wanted just heavy appetizers. They had a wide selection and they were so delicious and so well presented! The staff, especially Chris, were amazing. He mad sure my husband and I had everything we needed and we were able to sample food and eat before we entered the reception craziness upstairs. Heather was also very helpful during the planning process! She was very responsive and worked on making sure I got exactly what I needed. I can't recommend them enough!

Delicious food and good people

Spilled Milk, and Heather in particular, are FANTASTIC. If you want delicious food and good people, go with Spilled Milk. I sadly can't have gluten, and all I wanted at our wedding was to be able to eat everything. They were so accommodating to my food restrictions, and even made the spanakopita GF (and yes, it was amazing)! In addition, multiple people came up to me after dinner saying that they had filled up on apps because they expected the "typical" wedding food for the main course, but then they got dinner and it was delicious! And it wasn't just the food - the table settings and rentals were exactly what I wanted, and the day-of staff were wonderful. Highly, HIGHLY recommend.

Loved Every Morsel!

Working with Spilled Milk to cater our wedding was one of the best decisions ever. My then-fiancé (now husband) and I worked with Heather, and every interaction was great. She was courteous, thoughtful, and responded promptly to every email. There was an extensive food selection available to us, and everything sounded amazing! Not only that, if what we wanted was not on their list, the chef was extremely talented and could adapt what they have to what we wanted. My husband and I are foodies, and it was so difficult to narrow down the options for our event. We brought my parents to the tasting; they're extremely picky eaters, and they enjoyed everything we chose! Even during the tasting, we saw what great care Spilled Milk placed in their food and their service. We asked for a slight adjustment to a dish, and it was no problem. We couldn't decide on the passed bites and the desserts, and Heather was patient and gave us recommendations. During the wedding, the presentation of the food was beautiful, and the food tasted divine. Everyone, and I mean every single guest, raved about the food! There was plenty to eat, and every single item exceeded expectation. And yes, my husband and I found time to eat! Several other vendors commented what a great experience it was to work alongside Spilled Milk. Fan favorites were the Asian duck hors d'oeurvres, mini grilled cheese, agrodolce short ribs, goat cheese and mushroom polenta, and mixed berry parfaits. Yum! My husband actually said, "Let's have another wedding so we can get Spilled Milk to cater again!" Maybe not another wedding, but I'm already searching for another event for Spilled Milk to cater!

Excellent— Absolute Catering Perfection

Our guests consistently stated that this was the best wedding food they have ever had. Spilled Milk was absolute perfection on our wedding day. Absolutely fantastic and 100% will utilize again for other events for friends, family and work.

Spilled Milk and their staff were responsive and courteous from the moment I emailed them asking to see a menu to wishing me luck when my dad and I were queued in the kitchen about to walk down the aisle.

They created appetizers based on our New England roots and the wedding meal was exquisite and beautifully plated.

They flipped tables with speed, they served delicious food and they made the cocktail hour and reception go by seamlessly. Spilled Milk also accommodated food allergies which could be difficult when making and creating 135 plates. I would recommend them 1000 times to anyone especially any bride and groom getting married. I never worried about Spilled Milk before or on my wedding day. The number one thing I heard post-wedding was how the short ribs fell off the fork. I missed eating at my wedding and they wrapped up two complete meals and gave to my parents since they notice we barely got a chance to eat. That was the nicest and most appreciated thing. Amit and his team are top notch

The food was amazing, the service was excellent, and Amit was always helpful and thoughtful. We wanted great food, but we were also really budget conscious and Amit worked with us to create a menu that was cost-effective and delicious. Pricing is about average or better for the DC area, and we felt like Amit was really straightforward with us about how things were priced out. He had great recommendations for alcohol providers so that we didn't have to buy it all ourselves or pay for a full open bar through Spilled Milk.

Amit also helped us through the process of selecting rentals (tables, chairs, linens, and plates and flatware) and figuring out the right layout for our space. He has a TON of experience, great taste, and excellent advice no matter what your priorities are. With his help, our reception looked amazing.

And most importantly, the food was excellent! They have a ton of options for passed hors d'oeuvres or food stations. We had roasted chicken with crispy skin for everyone (with a vegetarian option) and Spilled Milk great about accommodating guests with allergies and other dietary restrictions. My mom has a severe dairy and beef allergy, and the team made sure there were a few appetizers set aside for her that were cheese and beef free.

Perfect Experience!

I had the best experience working with Spilled Milk and Heather. I am very particular and had many expectations and requirements and Heather met every single one with a smile! She listened to all of my wants and took it from there. From the passed bites, the service, the creative styling to literally the BEST dinner I have had at a wedding-they nailed it. "Best food I ever had at a wedding"

I had worked with Spilled Milk for years on corporate events and always thought very highly of them, but they BLEW me away and exceeded my already high expectations on my wedding day (10.14.18). Everything from the pork belly skewers and sushi at the cocktail hour to the elaborate 2 course family style dinner was ON POINT. The staff was amazing as well. They brought trays of drinks and food down to us while we were still taking pictures (down a major hill) and smiled all the way. Everyone..EVERYONE..raved about the food and some are still talking about it. "Best food I have ever had at a wedding" filled the reception space. I highly recommend Amit and his fabulous team for any of your catering needs. They will not disappoint!

My husband and I knew we wanted a custom menu for our wedding that reflected our cultures - he’s Indian, I’m Brazilian, we’re both American – and reached out to Spilled Milk immediately after getting engaged. Every dish and appetizer we tasted with our coordinator, Heather, was outstanding, but it was only after we booked SMC and began the daunting rentals and decor process that we realized how amazing SMC truly is.

Heather was a godsend throughout the year and a half we worked together. My husband and I unexpectedly moved cross-country 6 months before our wedding, which sent me into my first crazy spiral since I wanted to nail down my ‘vision’ before leaving DC. We considered 3 rental companies - Capital Party Rentals (required by venue for our tent extension rental), DC Rental, and Select Event Group. We first visited DC Rental because my planner offered 20% off any upgraded items. This first visit was incredibly overwhelming, exhausting, and I left bummed that the gold flatware I was so excited about was unavailable on our date. Heather picked up on my disappointment and extended the 20% discount to Select Event Group, which had a similar inventory to DC Rental, including the gold flatware. I visited Select’s showroom twice before moving and decided to move forward with them after a great experience.

Our wedding day was absolute perfection. A dedicated server during cocktail hour ensured that my husband and I were able to try all of our appetizers and signature drinks. Our guests raved about our unique food choices, how great everything tasted, and how well fed they were from cocktail hour to our late night nuggets and quesadillas. At one point during our reception, Heather flagged that we had 4 bottles of red wine remaining and ran out to get more. All of the servers were attentive, kind, and the bars were never backed up.

If you’re reading this and looking for a caterer for your wedding/event, HIRE SPILLED MILK! My wife and I spent months, literally months, looking for a caterer that would be able to make flavorful, exciting food and also execute a 160 person wedding. I’m Persian, my wife is Dominican so flavors, seasoning and taste we’re really important to us. Heather absolutely killed it! We had jambalaya, beef short rib, chicken and waffles, shrimp tacos, jerk steak, etc Not only was the food amazing, the service was even better. Danielle took care of me and my wife all night asking us if we need anything at all, Stevan the catering captain was the best and made sure everything was on point! Spilled Milk was amazing! We worked with Heather who let us through a second tasting after we made some changes to our selection. We did a plated meal and Spilled Milk did a great job setting the salads after a room flip between the ceremony and reception. The food was amazing - we have received several compliments about the dinner as well as the desserts and cake. There are some really fun options for the appetizers, too. Spilled Milk was responsive and flexible as we had some last minute changes due to the hurricane. We would highly recommend!

We had a multicultural wedding, and knew we wanted to have both Indian food and American food, so finding a caterer who could do a variety of cuisines was really important to us. Amit and his team were amazing. From menu creation, to the tasting, to refining and finalizing our choices, to the bar selection and rentals--everything was top-notch. After the wedding, we had guests reaching out to us to say that the food was better than many 5 stars restaurants they had been to. All of the staff were phenomenal--professional and attentive. It's always tough to eat on your wedding day, because there's so much going on, but they took amazing care of us and were on hand to make sure that the wedding party was staying hydrated (it was 95+ degs all day), and eating throughout. We would work with them again in a heartbeat!

Spilled Milk was a great caterer for our wedding! We worked with Heather every step of the way. She led us expertly through our tasting, selection of linens and tables and chairs, planning for our specialty cocktail, and the final wedding day. She was very easy to work with, and made planning the catering a smooth process.

Most importantly, our friends and family really enjoyed the food at our wedding! Someone even told me that the mashed potatoes were the best they'd ever had! Everything was perfectly detailed, from the passed appetizers (go for the deconstructed chicken wing), to the plated salads, to the food and wine service and the bar staff. It was also a really nice touch to have one particular server pay special attention to my husband and myself to make sure that we had a chance to actually eat and that the drinks kept flowing in our direction. Given how busy the cocktail hour can be, it was much-needed!

I would highly recommend Spilled Milk for anyone planning a wedding or a special event.

When planning our wedding, there was one thing we knew we wanted, and that was good food. Spilled Milk was the first caterer we met with, and we were hooked after the first bite. The food is absolutely amazing. We were able to sample multiple appitiziers and entrees, and let me tell you, it was hard to narrow down the choices. For our wedding we chose the cheeseburger sliders, the spicy tuna tacos, the shrimp and grits, and the bulgogi tacos. AMAZING. We decided on filet mignon and crab cakes for our wedding entrees. Spilled Milk also provided our cake and mini desserts (cheesecake bites and cookies w/ milk). I am not exaggerating when I say that at least half of our wedding guests made sure to let us know that our food was hands down the best wedding food they had ever had. (Also, for people from Maryland to say they were the best crab cakes, that is a huge compliment). The staff during the wedding did an outstanding job as well. Now, to Heather. Heather was who we worked with from the start to the end. Throughout the entire process my husband and I kept joking that she was our mini wedding planner. Heather was so welcoming and easy to work with right from the start. She was in constant contact with us, always answering all of our questions and going above and beyond to make sure our wedding would be perfect. We can't say enough great things about her, she truly was simply wonderful. I would reccomend Spilled Milk to anyone and everyone for any occasion.

We worked with Amit Gulati and Spilled Milk Catering for our Washington D.C. wedding and this was absolutely the best choice we made in our wedding planning. We had great success with all of our vendors, but Amit truly stood out. The food was incredible, and we had many comments from our guests about how delicious it was. The entire event went off without a hitch, and Amit was personally there to see that everything ran smoothly. In every step of the process, Amit was available, helpful, and professional. We are so appreciative of everything he did in our planning process, especially all of his help in picking out the wedding rentals. He helped us create the beautiful wedding day of our dreams, and we cannot recommend him and Spilled Milk Catering highly enough.

When I started my wedding planning, I reached out to about eight catering companies. Heather, who is the event manager at Spilled Milk Catering, was one of very few people who responded promptly and showed professionalism. She was easy to work with and was very helpful when we needed advice. Second, the food at this company is AMAZING. The appetizers are delicious and the presentation is EXCELLENT. The main course, which was salmon and ribs, was also fantastic. All my guests told me that they loved the food at our wedding! I highly recommend this catering company if you want to work with a great coordinator and if you want your guests to be extra happy at your wedding. =)

Even a month out from our wedding, our guests are still raving about the food! We were interested in Spilled Milk because my also-engaged roommate at the time, came home from her Spilled Milk tasting and let us try some of her leftovers, which were sooo good! At our own tasting, Amit was very engaging and demonstrated his extensive knowledge of our venue which was a huge plus. We also found that Spilled Milk offered the best value of any of the caterers on the exclusive catering list at our venue, so choosing them was a no-brainer. Amit was also really helpful at our DC rentals appointment, helping us make choices that added character to our reception but also kept us honest helped stop us from upgrading the whole world--a real budget saver! I was told after our wedding that our dinner service was the most efficient that our guests had ever seen. We also need to give a special shout out to our bride & groom server, Maria, who was AMAZING! She made sure we had a plentiful amount of all our favorite passed hors d'oeuvres and we always had drinks in our hands. The one suggestion I'd give is to make sure you provide a drink recipe to Spilled Milk if you're serving signature cocktails. I thought our cocktails were relatively standard and pretty much consistent across recipes, but the bartenders (who were also great, by the way) may have taken some creative liberties with them, making them a little different than we thought they'd be. An easy issue to avoid if you just send a recipe ahead of time! We are attending another former roommate's wedding catered by Spilled Milk this October and we're already looking forward to the short rib!

My husband and I were very happy with Spilled Milk for our wedding! They worked with our budget limits, but still made the food seem plentiful. We decided on a buffet style dinner, and at the great suggestion of Heather (the associate we worked with) we added a player salad course so that people got a combination of plated and buffet which elevated the dinner. Also, the cocktail hour food was delicious and many of our guests raved about the food!
They were also very responsive to my emails and calls, and were flexible when we had last minute changes. They also seemed to really listen to our feedback when it came to the food, so we really could get what we wanted.
The staff that worked at the wedding was also great and went above and beyond. They even helped move some center pieces and vases which was not part of their job.
All in all, I would hire them again, and highly recommend them!
