Amazing Experience

I absolutely loved working with Chrissy from Special Occasions hair and makeup. We had to schedule my hair and makeup trial the same week as the wedding as I live out of state. During our planning consultation call, she asked so many questions about different inspiration photos to really gauge what my vision was. By the time I sat in the chair for my trial, she was able to capture my vision without needing anymore information. On the wedding day, she had mentioned that she reviewed our trial session photos and found places where she “could do better”. I really appreciate the time she put into thinking about my day and I really felt like the most beautiful version of myself. She was beyond organized and timely on the day of the wedding with her partner Dina to the point where we were ahead of schedule. All of the bridesmaids were so happy with their hair and makeup styles and they both lasted all day.

I can't say enough about what an amazing experience I had with Chrissy and Special Occasion Hair and Makeup!

From our very first phone call I could tell Chrissy was so passionate and knowledgeable about her work. After I decided to book her we had a phone call that lasted about an hour, talking all about my vision for my hair/makeup for my wedding day. She asked me so many questions and wanted all the little details which really made me feel like she cared about me as a client!

Fast forward to my trial day, which I was a little nervous about. I am not one to get anything fancy done to my hair and I barely wear any makeup so I just wasn't sure what to expect even though I had emphasized all of this to Chrissy during our initial call. I left my trial feeling 100% confident in my choice and knew that Chrissy and her team were going to do an amazing job day of.

My wedding day started off on the best note becuase of Chrissy and her team. They were so professional, so knowledgable, so kind and so patient. We had 7 girls total who needed hair and makeup that morning and our ceremony started at 2:00, meaning we were on a pretty tight schedule. I was a little worried about if we would get behind but we were actually ahead of schedule the entire morning!

All of my girls and my mom LOVED their hair and makeup. We all had very different hair and skin types but Chrissy and her team were able to work with each of us to give us exactly what we wanted. Chrissy was so honest and helpful when she was shown inspiration pictures and everything came out perfectly!

I would highly recommend Chrissy and Special Occasion Hair and Makeup for your big day. I promise you will not be disappointed, she is the best!

AMAZING Hair and Makeup

Chrissy was so fantastic to work with. She absolutely nailed my vision -- this is the first time I've had my makeup professionally done and loved the results. My photos turned out amazing, and I am truly obsessed with how perfect the makeup turned out. Also, Chrissy is so professional, kind, and thorough. Could not recommend her enough!

Flawless hair and makeup

Chrissy was one of the few people who was willing to work with a small bridal party. It was just myself, my maid of honor and my mom and I will always be appreciated of that fact. Chrissy was a joy to work with and fun to be around during the morning of my wedding. Although I had photos for hair and makeup inspiration, she took it and made it a reality. She knew what would work and would not work for me and truly made me look stunning on my wedding day! She wanted to make sure everyone was happy at the end of the day too. Both my mom and my maid of honor weren’t very sure of what they wanted. She was patient and helped guide them every step of the process when she was doing hair and makeup and everyone felt glamorous yet themselves. Hair and makeup stayed all night.

Truly Amazing

WOW! That's all I can say about Chrissy and Dena!! Chrissy and I have several conversations ahead of time about what I was looking for on my wedding day, when it came time for the trial she nailed it!! Then the day of her and Dena crushed hair and make up. My bridesmaids all got very different and unique styles/ make up done and they all looked beautiful!!

Beautiful hair and makeup!

Chrissy and her team did hair and makeup for myself (bride), my mom, bridesmaids, and flower girls. Chrissy is very talented, she listened to what I wanted and made it happen! Everyone looked beautiful! She was responsive and professional to work with.

Chrissy and her assistant were amazing on my wedding day, as well as at my hair trial. She works with you to pick the most flattering style then works her magic to enhance it. My hair and makeup held perfectly all night and I felt like the best version of myself! Super sweet, extremely professional. All of my girls looked fantastic.

Chrissy is phenomenal

Chrissy is phenomenal. She's a great person and has a great business for brides who are doing non-traditional venues. We were getting married at a local museum and couldn't drive 30 minutes to get to my normal salon (which wasn't open on our wedding day anyway!!) and then 30 minutes back before pictures. Chrissy travels and boy am I glad she did. She was wonderful from consult to trial to the morning of. Everyone loved her and her team. I will gladly recommend this company to anyone who will listen.

As a bride, there is no other woman you want doing your hair and makeup the day of your wedding. Chrissy is INCREDIBLE. Not only did she make every single one of my bridesmaids look and feel beautiful, she made me feel like a princess, without needing a ton of direction (as I was unsure as to what would look best on me). Chrissy and her team were not only there early but they kept us so on track - we even had an extra hour to just relax! Not only is she talented, but she is so kind and accommodating. I had to plan my wedding while out of state and she worked around my crazy schedule to make sure I had everything I needed. She even assisted me in styling my dress with accessories. I cannot recommend her highly enough, ladies - if you want the best on your wedding day you need Chrissy and her team!

I cannot say enough good things about Special Occassion Hair Design. We used them for our wedding this past weekend and everything was perfect! Chrissy and Dena did an incredible job on hair and makeup for myself and my bridal party. They are so professional and personable and do a wonderful job on hair and makeup. They also listened to each girls requests and made sure that everyone loved their hair and makeup and was comfortable. I am so happy we booked them for our wedding, and highly recommend them! Chrissy is AMAZING!! Not only is she hilarious in a quiet and unsuspecting way, but she is SO extremely talented and put me at ease every time i spoke with her. She spent time discussing my skin (it's wacky and tricky to deal with because of dry spots/rosacea), my normal "every day" look, and my ideas for my wedding day look. She not only made me look flawless, but she did a fantastic job with my girls' makeup up too- I am slightly obsessed with makeup so I'm picky. My makeup lasted all day, all night, and well into the next day. No joke! Also, the week of my wedding Chrissy called me about a sudden personnel change when she didn't need to (I never would have known the difference so it was SUPER professional of her to inform me) and the sub she brought along to do bridesmaid hair made the girls look fantastic. I can't rave enough about how much talent Chrissy has- she made me feel absolutely gorgeous.

Chrissy and her team are truly spectacular! They are the best in the business. I have worked with the Special Occasion Hair Design Team twice, my sister's wedding and my big day. Both times were incredible! They are worth every penny. Chrissy will help design your perfect wedding look and answer any question you have. She was quick to respond to phone calls and emails. She was even willing to meet with me multiple times until my look was exactly what I wanted. Both my sister and I live out of town, which makes scheduling appointments difficult. Chrissy was more than happy to work around our schedules. If you want to feel beautiful as a bride, bridesmaid, mother of the bride; I recommend Special Occasion Hair Design!

Crissy and the rest of the Special Occasion Hair Design team are awesome. From my trial to the day of my wedding Crissy was very accommodating. She answered all my questions and was very patient with me. I was not sure how I wanted my hair for my wedding so she took the time to go through pictures with me to figure out what would be perfect for my wedding day. She took every detail into consideration. I was nervous about my make up because typically I do not wear any, Crissy assured me everything would look natural. She was 100% correct, I felt beautiful. On the day of my wedding her and her team showed up early to our hotel room with everything you could imagine. It was very convenient that the Special Occasion Hair Design team was able to come to our location. They were nothing but professional. They did hair and make up for 7 bridesmaids plus my mother and me. Hair and make up started around 7 am and everyone still looked flawless by the end of the evening. I would recommend any one getting married to contact Crissy for hair and make up for any occasion.

For my sisters wedding this past October, we wore gold sequin, floor length gowns. I wanted dramatic hair and makeup to complete the look. Chrissy did a non standard smokey eye, at 7:00 in the morning, that looked flawless at midnight. My downstyle hair was exactly what I envisioned yet couldn't articulate yet she just knew what I meant! A seasoned pro that I would not think twice about hiring in the future.

Chrissy is AMAZING! She made the entire process SO easy and fun! She is so knowledgeable and talented that I would not have trusted anyone else to style my hair and do my makeup on my wedding day! The Bridal Package is such a great value that includes a consultation and a trial before the big day. Other services for bridesmaids and mothers of the bride/groom are very reasonably priced as well. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Every bride looking for an enjoyable experience through and through pick Chrissy and her team!

Chrissy and her team from Special Occasion Hair Design were incredible. Chrissy is so talented and surrounds herself with incredibly talented people. Her team of ladies are so professional, so incredibly gifted and so fun to be around. The girls take photos of "dream hair dos" and make them reality. I had so much fun watching my girls turn into supermodels while we were getting ready!! And every bridesmaid loved how they looked!

Now for me :) I think it is important to tell everyone reading this how much I cried on my wedding day, happy tears of course :) but real tears. My makeup...did not move. I repeat DID NOT MOVE. Despite all my happy tears my make up was flawless from morning to night. That is no easy task! My hair was exactly how I wanted it and my overall look felt like a dressed up version of myself. I felt natural, gorgeous and flawless. And I wish that feeling on any bride on their wedding day. I would HIGHLY recommend Special Occasion Hair Design. Chrissy and her team did hair and makeup for me, a few bridesmaids and my mom for my wedding. They travelled to our hotel suite, which allowed us to hang out and relax a bit prior to the wedding rather than running out to a salon. I was absolutely thrilled with my hair and makeup - both came out even better than I could have imagined and held up all day and night. I received tons of compliments on my hair in particular, and most importantly, my husband (who usually doesn't notice these things) couldn't stop talking about how much he loved my hair. My mom and entire bridal party were also very happy with their hair and makeup. Chrissy was wonderful, responsive, and easy to work with. From beginning to end, the process was stress-free and fun. Thank you Chrissy and team for a wonderful experience!

I am so lucky to have started my day with these girls. Chrissy is so seasoned at weddings, if it wasn't for her I probably would have missed the whole thing. They are the perfect energy for the big day. They also are extremely talented with their services and I felt and looked flawless. Everyone looked stunning. I could not have been happier and more at ease with my look. They had everything I didn't have to look perfect.

We hired Special Occasion Hair for the wedding. I decided to go with them because I saw a lot of variety on their website (vs standard curly hair that I saw a lot on other websites). This was very important for me since I was hiring stylist to do the whole bridal party and each of us had completely different hair. Chrissy and her assistant were great. Everything went so smooth starting with booking till the last moment. She was very flexible accommodating my timing for trials and consultations. I felt very safe with her.

On the wedding day they were on the location even before us. My bridesmaids just trusted them with what they thought would be the best (of course taking into account general personal preferences for each of them). At the end everyone was looking in the mirror and could hardly recognize themselves! All of us including moms felt so beautiful and special.

I definitely recommend Special Occasion Hair Design! They are amazing! Exactly what I was looking for!

There is no other day in a woman’s life that is as important to look one’s very best than her wedding day. The bride is the center of everyone’s attention; and the hundreds of photos taken of her would have to show her looking her very best. Realizing this, I knew how important it was to find someone who could help me look the very best version of myself. It was a long journey, but I had finally found the artists who could help make this happen: Chrissy and Lindsey of Special Occasion Hair Design. They have a way of showcasing a person’s beauty and they do it with such skill and professionalism. Chrissy and her team at Special Occasion Hair Design came to me the morning of my wedding. They were early, brought everything that they needed and were ready to work their magic! I loved that I could literally just wake up and they were there, in my home. I didn't have to leave, run around, or waste precious time driving to and from the salon.
Being that I am a very natural girl to begin with I was really worried that I wasn't going to look like myself. Chrissy's experience and attention to detail is unreal, she took everything into consideration and totally delivered. My finished look was timeless, classic and everything I ever dreamed of! Not to mention I looked just as good at the end of the night as I did when she left.
I would highly recommend Chrissy to anyone that is getting married and is looking for a wedding stylist!

Where do I start! From our first consultation I knew I had to hire Chrissy. She really took the time to understand my wedding day vision, from colors, to flowers, to venues, even my shoes?! She looks at so much more than just 'hair and makeup' This helped her really understand my personality and taste and she nailed it. The morning of, Chrissy and Jessica arrived on time (early) to my hotel ready to go! They have their whole process down to a science. They were professional and organized, and worked very well as a team. They made sure everyone was happy with their hair and makeup, doing any touchups throughout the morning that anyone needed. All of my bridesmaids and mother looked beautiful. Chrissy stayed until we were literally walking out the door, to make sure everything was just perfect.. She even helped me get into my dress! She was an absolute pleasure to work with and really made my morning a breeze.. She calmed my nerves and made me look my absolute best! By the end of the morning I wished I had invited her to the wedding! I cannot say enough good things about them :) I hope I have the opportunity to work with Special Occasions in the future.

Chrissy and her team were just amazing! From my very first meeting with her, Chrissy was thorough with the questions she asked about my vision for the wedding and how my hair would match my vision. As the wedding drew closer Chrissy made sure to contact me and come up with a schedule that would work best for my wedding day. The morning of the wedding Chrissy and her team showed up on time and ready do my hair, my 5 bridesmaids, and my mothers. Everyone's hair turned out beautifully and lasted the entire day. Chrissy and her team did an amazing job for my wedding! I was the bride and my hair and makeup was fantastic. They also did my 6 bridesmaids and they all looked awesome. Chrissy's team was right on time starting, and finished early. All of the girls hair and makeup was done in stages so no one was done too early. I would absolutely recommend them!!!

I had a wonderful experience working with Chrissy and her team on the day of my Wedding! We met twice before that day to meet and great, and then to have a "trial". She asked a lot of questions and even took time to go to our wedding website and see the venue, as we were getting married outside. It was awesome to have someone come to the house instead of coordinating having all 8 of my girls, 3 flower girls, one mother of the bride and me all go somewhere!!!!

Christina and her assistant did an amazing job on my hair and makeup. My wedding was on St. Patrick's Day, I come from a long line of Irish relatives and I am by no means a girly girl, but Christina made me look absolutely beautiful. She was polite, punctual, flexible with arrival as most of the local roads were closed for the annual parade and she even took the time to teach my mom how to fix my hair and change tiaras as I had two separate outfits planned for the day. I will absolutely use her again, and I actually plan to for my baby shower. If you're looking for someone who is professional and really knows what she's doing for a decent cost, go with Special Occasion Hair Design.

We had Chrissy come straight to our house to do hair and makeup and she was wonderful! She did my hair and makeup beautifully and made me feel ready for my big day. She is friendly and professional as well. I cant' speak to her prices because she actually was covering (very last minute) for my original vendor. Her work is impeccable and she definitely follows exactly what you want. I would gladly work with her again!!!

Chrissy and the Special Occasion Hair Design team are incredible. The trial run went great and Chrissy spent quite a bit of time confirming the nuances of my vision for my hair and makeup. It was nothing over-the-top but she made sure she had it right on. On our wedding day, she kicked things off and took control with her team. We had a pretty good sized bridal party to get through (7 BMs, 1 bride and 2 moms!) but they cruised through with absolutely no problem at all. I was, as my luck would have it, pretty sick with a nasty summer cold that day. Chrissy kept things light and fun and was attentive to me and how I was feeling, hair/makeup aside. I felt and looked like a zombie, but she promised she would have me looking my best in no time. Boy did she deliver. Everyone loved their hair – including me – and while each style was a bit different, they all went together cohesively and we received numerous compliments at the reception. She even had enough time to take on three more girls for makeup than she had planned for in her timeline. Trust me when I say Chrissy is the kind of person you want around on your wedding day – experienced, level-headed and calm. She keeps close tabs on time and takes serious pride in her work. Looking back at our photos, booking Special Occasion Hair Design was one of the best vendor decisions we could have made!

Do not walk, but RUN to your phone to call Chrissy. She was so phenomenal, as was her team. Every one of my bridal party girls raved about them. They were prompt, moved quickly, and took so much care to make sure that everyone was satisfied. Every girl felt special and fully attended to. I danced the night away. My bustle broke, but my hair and make up stayed put the entire day. It was a point I was very firm on, having had other hair styles leaving me running for more hair spray and bobby pins throughout the day. They were professional without being bossy, and finished right on time (no easy feat with an additional head of hair and face to make up at the last minute!).

It was absolutely perfect, and I cannot recommend Chrissy and her team enough.

Chrissy and her team were such a pleasure to work with - they made our wedding party gorgeous! The team is so positive and just made everyone feel great!

They are well organized and extremely professional. I was nervous going into the hair and makeup trial since I have never worked with a stylist before - but at the end of the hair trial I couldn't wait to see her again!

It was great knowing that we had such a perfectionist working with us. I felt super confident with my look for the day. The flower girls looked gorgeous, my sister looked terrific and both of the moms felt great! We were all so happy with their work!

Chrissy was so wonderful to work with; I would recommend her to any bride-to-be. She is responsive, professional, accommodating, reasonably-priced, and really listens to what you want while offering her own input/ ideas. On top of all of this, I really enjoyed her personally, so the trial and the hours she was with the bridal party & me the day of the wedding were really a lot of fun! Chrissy from Special Occasion Hair Design did my hair and makeup for my wedding in June. Planning my wedding from out of town, I found Special Occasions a little late in the game, just a few weeks before my wedding when I was frustrated with the other stylists I had met who couldn't understand the hairstyle I wanted for my wedding day. Working with Chrissy was a relief compared to other hair and makeup artists - she put my mind at ease by helping me figure out the perfect look for my wedding, something that kept me true to myself, just a little enhanced :) Not only did she help me to look beautiful on my wedding day but she came to the rescue when the hair dresser meant to style my bridesmaids and mother didn't show up (don't worry she wasn't from Special Occasions)! I love Chrissy! She has found a way to give brides just what they are looking for on their wedding day: no stress! She comes to your location to do hair and makeup! Chrissy was AMAZING! From the second I had a phone conversation with her I knew I wanted her to complete my wedding day. She was sweet, understanding and has so much experience and great suggestions. FIrst off it was nice to have someone come to you the morning of your wedding, it helps you to feel much more relaxed. At my trial we talked about different ways that we could do my hair (and she did them) that would look good with my dress and when I thought I knew what I wanted, which was my hair mostly down, I found out it was going to rain and that was not going to be ok! The day of, she did an amazing job on my bridesmaids, everyone was beyond pleased with their hair, and makeup if they choose to get that done as well. The day of my wedding when I was so worried about the rain (it never ended up raining) Chrissy was so patient and thoughtful in helping me to pick something and made me the most BEAUTIFUL bride I could have ever imagine being!!! I was blown away by what an amazing and detailed job she did on both my hair and makeup, I could not have imagined it done any other way! She has an amazing talent and anyone that chooses her to do their wedding day will be VERY happy! Chrissy was wonderful!! It was so nice to have someone travel to me the morning of my wedding instead of worrying about making my appointment and getting out in time. All of my bridesmaids had their hair done, including me and I had my makeup done, along with my mother in law and my mom. The hair turned out wonderfully and she really takes pride in her work. My hair was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I loooooved my hair so much. My makeup was wonderful also. I don't know too much about makeup, but Chrissy picked the colors and she did a nice dramatic evening look for my 5pm wedding. I felt so beautiful on my wedding day and I owe it all to Chrissy. She's absolutely fantastic and such a nice person.

Chrissy was great! She made sure that both our hair and make up were exactly the way we wanted them to be on our wedding day. Providing a trial-run also helped us get the kinks out and make our wedding day hair/makeup prep quicker and easier. We wish the price for the trial run was a little cheaper, just due to the fact that it's not the actual wedding day, but we also understand that she is allotting the same amount of time with the same quality of work. She and her team were very great to work with!

Special Day more like disappointment

I was looking forward to working with Chrissy on my special day. The hair and trail went well. Chrissy told me that it would look better on the wedding day since more time would go into it. After the trial I had a few suggestions of what works better for me like using primer. I was very disappointed in the outcome of the wedding day. My makeup and hair was exactly like the trail with no improvements, except a shadow color change. On the wedding day, we felt rushed and did not listen to the suggestions to implement on the wedding day. My hair was loose when she finished. The rest of the bridal party's makeup was plain and their curls fell before they even left. As they were going to depart, they said they would do touch-ups which never happened. I expected a lot more for the price. Highly disappointed in the hair and makeup for my special day. Will not be recommending them.
