Best Day Ever!

I am so happy that we decided to go with Southern Events. Planning a wedding during the pandemic and out state was stressful and Angela made the process painless. It was important for us to stay on budget while still manifesting my dream day. Angela ensured we stay on budget by negotiating with vendors and my day was dreamy just like I asked for. She had a great rapport with everyone we meet with and that spoke volumes to her professionalism. We couldn’t be more satisfied with how things turned out and how much we appreciated having Angela plan our day.

Took Away All Stress!

They took away all the stress of wedding planning! Any question or problem I thought I was answered or solved almost immediately! I simply talked through what my vision was for the wedding and was given a list of possibilities for decor, vendors, etc. based on my budget. I wasn't sure or a few things, such as flowers and she took my ideas and rolled with them! I was assured that I would love what she had in mind for me and she was right! She found all decorations we wanted and set them up, ordered and arranged all flowers, and scheduled everything related to the day of! Rehearsal was short. sweet, and to the point. She made sure the wedding followed schedule and helped me with everything I needed, allowing us to enjoy the day and not be stressed! I cannot express how thankful I was for such an awesome planner!

Best Decision Ever

I have nothing but great things to say about Angela. Hiring her to help plan my wedding was the best decision. She was very responsive, thought of every detail I would have missed, and was always pleasant and professional no matter how busy she was! I also appreciate that she did not try to overcharge - she was very honest about how long I would need her for the day of, rather than leading me to believe I would need her help all day and charging accordingly. I really respect and appreciate that as I know others would not be as honest. If you want a stress - free big day, with every detail covered, Angela is your woman! I have received so many compliments from family and friends that it was the best wedding they've ever attended- Angela made it happen.

Angela is the absolute best!

Read reviews. All of them. Angela is the best! When I got engaged, I immediately began looking for a venue and wedding planner. My wedding day was everything I had hoped and dreamed. She has wonderful vendor relationships and excellent management skills. Her recommendations and guidance were VERY thoughtful and extremely helpful. Amazing team!

Southern Event Planners was a literal life saver for us! We had some huge last minute changes that had to made due to inclement weather and Angela, Kelly and there team were absolutely amazing. You will not regret hiring them!!

Knowledgeable, Go-Getter

Angela is quite spectacular. She worked hard behind the scenes with all vendors, suggested vendors, and on the day of the wedding, I did not have a care in the world because Angela took care of everything. Not one single problem, and everything looked wonderful in terms of set-up and all transitions were smooth and seemingly effortless on the part of her team. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Angela was referred to us by Kathleen Davenport. Angela did an amazing job. She helped us with invitations, floral and linens. It was extremely cost effective. We planned our event within a 90 day time frame, so I was nervous- but all of our vendors exceeded our expectations!!

Angela and her team were awesome to work with! They are so nice and really listen and care about what you want. They are very professional. The venue looked amazing and exactly how I imagined it for our wedding day! They did so amazing!

Angela is FANTASTIC! She listened to our ideas and also added some we hadn’t thought of. She worked with our budget and found great people and businesses to provide the services. Kelley was our wedding director and she was TOP KNOTCH! I loved the whole group working with Angela. Everyone that attended raved about how beautiful it was and how great the food was. Southern Events is the BEST! It could not have been better. I can’t say enough good things about our experience. They really know their stuff!
I would highly recommend Southern Events to anyone without a doubt.

Southern Event Planners is absolutely the best!! When I got engaged, the one thing I knew for sure was that I needed Angela. She truly understands each of her clients and does everything to make their dream wedding a reality. She understood my vision exactly - she could practically finish my sentences! For instance, at my tasting, when I eyed the venue's unattractive three-tonged forks, she quickly said "We can bring in our own flatware." Thank goodness!

Detail-oriented doesn't begin to cover it... for her or me! She was always willing to take the time to review each tiny detail of my wedding and she ensured each of my vendors also paid close attention to detail. When my venue made a mistake and ordered rubber ducks in the wrong color, she stepped in immediately and the problem was fixed within 24 hours.

I would recommend Angela and her whole team to anyone. She can plan and execute a amazing wedding or party that truly reflects her client's vision! Plus she takes away so much stress because I knew she would get things done and done well.

I gave Southern Event Planners five stars on everything because they were truly the perfect wedding planners! They were a joy to work with from the time my daughter became engaged to the very end of the wedding reception. Angela listened to the vision that my daughter had of her wedding and Angela and her amazing staff made that vision become a reality. They helped us find the perfect venue, fabulous photographer and videographer, wonderful band. They were at every meeting with the caterer and florist. When there were hic ups (especially with the hotel rooms), they took care of it. They delivered over 100 gift bags to the hotel, they picked up China in Nashville, they made sure everyone was tipped at the end of the night. They made the wedding day and night completely stress free. I cannot imagine having a wedding without their support. AND not only were they excellent at the job, they were a delight to be around!

Angela was our planner and we could not have been happier! She went above and beyond in every way possible. We had a few hiccups at the beginning of the wedding, but she fixed everything and we didn't have to stress. Love, love, love Southern Event!

If you're a laid back bride like I was (actually if you are any type of bride), you very much need Southern Event Planners. Angela and her entire team were so helpful every step of the way, and they were able to bring my vision to life and elevate it to places I never thought it could go. I had a literature themed wedding, and my wedding was as detailed as my favorite novels. Everyone there is exceptional at what they do, and they were always there to calm me down the couple of times I did feel like I was losing it. They are some of my favorite people!

Last tips when it comes to budget, they will NOT blow your budget unless you ask them to. Angela makes sure to have a conversation with you to make sure she understands what is important in the vision you have for your wedding and recommends vendors that will do an excellent job within the budget. I used them for the entire planning of my wedding, but they also have other packages that would be incredibly helpful to any bride for a fraction of their full fee.

I understand you just got engaged and you are unsure on who to choose, You are looking at each vendor and viewing not only experience but price as well. How do I know this, because my husband and I were the same way. I just got married last week using Southern Event Planners and I will say they were worth every penny. As a bride you want someone who understands what you want and not what others want you to have. I will say Angela was truly able to capture every moment I wanted at the wedding. She really listened to what I want and was able to be there for me the entire process. Her team is outstanding she has a wonderful event planner named Kathleen and she was right beside me the entire day of the wedding. This team allowed my day to fully be stressed free, I would have not asked for anything else. This team is really worth it, because they are not only your planners but they become like your family. If you are on a budget they will work with you and will tell you each time if your are going over your budget before you spend more money. They really look out for your best interest and they take all the worries away. My husband and I had such a great time on our wedding day and I couldn't stop smiling the entire day. If you want someone who will capture everything you want and more this is the team. They are very professional and will make sure everything flows no matter what happens. I am so happy I used them, because people are still talking about the wedding and I know it would have not been possible without them.

I love Angela! She is very good at reading a person's flair and style and developing a look that reflects the customer. She and her staff are very easy to talk to. My small wedding which grew into a guest list of over 300 was no problem for Southern Event Planners to readjust and plan for. Angela offered suggestions in every area I questioned her about. From catering to purchasing ice. She is a pleasure to work with and I can't wait to see the actual plan as my wedding is coming up in two weeks!

Southern Event Planners helped me to coordinate my son’s rehearsal dinner. They are THE BEST. Please do not hesitate to hire them for your special event. You will not be disappointed. They are worth every cent. Angela is an expert listener. She is very adept at capturing your vision and enhancing it with her own special touch. Caitlin at Southern Event Planners was assigned to set up and clean up on our special day. She did an excellent job. Southern Event Planners provided all of the floral arrangements and additional decor – candles, tablecloths, signage, etc., all were first-class. Our rehearsal dinner was everything we had hoped it would be and more because of their expertise. The ambiance Angela created was warm and elegant. Our guests were taken aback when they walked into the beautifully decorated room. Most importantly my dear son and beautiful new daughter-in-law were well pleased. I am telling you, do not waste time reading more reviews - stop what you're doing, pick up the phone, or open your email and contact Angela. When it is all said and done, you will say it was the best decision you ever made.

Southern Event Planners is an amazing planning organization!!! I was a bride who had certain things I wanted but I needed some help making my vision a reality. That's where Angela stepped in! She helped me form my complete vision and she made it all a reality! She also made it a reality within my budget! She's very creative and patient. She always replied to my emails, which eased my mind about different things I was working on at the time. On our wedding day, I couldn't believe how beautiful the decorations were. The wedding literally took my breath away. Angela is very honest, creative, patient and fun! Southern Event Planners was such a joy to work with. Southern Event Planners were amazing. While moving, going to school, working, and being a mom full time I was able to sit back and relax when it came to decorating and planning my wedding. Angela and Caitlin planned such a beautiful evening that exceeded all my expectations. When I did have my random bride freak outs all I had to do was shoot an email and had an instant response that put me at ease! I recommend them to the highest degree.

I am so glad I went with Southern Event Planners to decorate my wedding. Angela was the decorator and she was so insightful on all the decisions that needed made. I can be indecisive. She was very patient and gave her professional opinion when I needed. When I saw the final product the day of my wedding.... I was blown away! Everything was better than I had imagined. Everything flowed so beautifully together and we didn't even need flowers! But the flowers were so fantastic it was the icing on the cake. I'm very pleased with my wedding decor and with Angela at Southern Event Planners!!!!

Our event was stunning!!!! SEP provided flowers and coordinating rentals (napkins, burlap runners, vases, etc). It was exactly what I envisioned and prices were reasonable.

I can't say enough good things about Southern Event Planners. We had a major illness in the family and the wedding date had to be moved up by three months. Angela and her staff went out of their way to contact all of our vendors and find the date that they could all be there so we wouldn't lose our deposits, even though we didn't hire her for that service. They took so much pressure off of us.

Angela did all of the décor, including the flowers and all of the rentals for the reception. It was absolutely beautiful. My daughter's bouquet was so pretty. All of my friends and family loved the décor and how the room was arranged.

Angela has a wonderful staff who help take care of their clients. They were very prompt on returning calls and helping us through everything.

Angela, Tammy, and all of southern event planners were great! I was so nervous about planning my wedding while finishing up my last year of nursing school but they took care of everything for me! The day of the wedding was no exception. Angela took care of everything that day from making sure that there was plenty of ice to telling me when to walk down the isle to making sure I had something to drink as soon as we sat down for the dinner. I could never have asked for a better planner!

I knew I had always wanted a wedding planner so as soon as I got engaged I started immediately contacting every wedding planner in Memphis. Southern Events was my first and only meeting. Angela's energy, creative ideas and excitement was exactly what I wanted. She took my ideas, no matter how far fetched and brought them to life in a way I never knew was possible. She and her staff, especially Tami, were always there to answer any question I had or to fulfill a request. She was at every meeting, walk through and tasting I had to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. I loved getting to know Angela and bouncing ideas off of her during the year of my engagement. Southern Events also took care of all of my flowers and did a spectacular job. My bouquet was stunning but it was nothing compared to my reception hall. Walking in and seeing it for the first time brought me to tears. It was above and beyond. I am greatly appreciative of Angela and her staff for providing me with guidance, suggestions, and a dream wedding.

Angela was absolutely wonderful from the first time we met her! She helped me turn my confusing vision into a reality. The day of my wedding I was so relaxed because I knew everything was out of my hands and Angela had it under control. Knowing I did not have to worry about anything and it would all be beautiful was worth every penny.

Prior to meeting Angela we had a Wedding Coordinator that we had to let go of. We were distraught & didn’t know what we were going to do??? The day my fiancé’ and I met Angela, she immediately floored us! She’s a true professional. Very courteous, personable and 100% committed not only to the Bride’s concerns or needs, but the Groom’s as well. WE FELL IN LOVE WITH THIS WOMAN. The business aspect of planning my wedding was picked up, cleaned up, and lead to the finish line. ON DECEMBER 1ST THE WEDDING I DREAMED OF WAS NOTHING COMPARED TO THE CEREMONY ANGELA CREATED FOR ME! Angela and her team were GREAT! Everything for the wedding was beautiful! The flowers were amazing. The ceremony and reception were elegant and dazzling. I was completely satisfied! I would give more stars if they would let me! Where to start... Angela with Southern Event Planners is simply the best at what she does! Being a bride that didn't have a sense of direction with my wedding, she not only provided me creative ideas, but helped make any vision I had a reality. From EVERY detail she was always 2 steps ahead and often thought of things I didn't even know we needed to think about. All the guests called our wedding "seamless" and that is 100% because of Angela and her team at Southern Event Planners. All vendors respected her and called her "the best" and I couldn't agree more!! She created a reception that was beyond what I even knew was possible, and truly made the venue magical! Every detail was taken care of, and our wedding wouldn't have been the same without her!

Southern Event Planners are great. We were so overwhelmed with planning our wedding that we decided to hire a wedding planner. Once we met with Angela and told her our ideas, we inhstantly knew that Southern Event Planners were the perfect choice. Angela, Kelly, and the team were great. They were very creative and original with the decor for the ceremony and reception space. The team worked efficiently and professionally. Southern Event made our visions come to life with beautiful all white everything with a dash of purple. The flowers were fresh and beautiful which gave our wedding a nice touch. The lighting were all placed in the right areas. The planning aspect of our wedding was also great. Kelly made sure to keep us on schedule and the course of the wedding ran smoothly. They made sure our day was stress free. If are a out-of-towner, don't be alarm, because they also travel. Through all the emails and phone calls, we highly recommend Southern Event Planners. Thanks to Southern Event Planners for making our dream wedding come true.

Angela and the rest of the team were wonderful, accommodating, and did a great job helping plan a wedding from 1,000 miles away. They also did my flowers, and they turned out amazingly beautiful! I honestly don't know where I would have been without their day-of coordination, and was so touched by the attention to detail; at the end of the night, we returned to the room to find rose petals from our centerpieces scattered through the room and on our bed...so romantic!

I didn't think flowers would play a huge part of my wedding until I saw what Angela and her team at Southern Event Planners put together. The flowers were more beautiful then I could have ever imagined! She took some inspirational photos I found and ran with it! No more input needed!This company was not one to copy other florists ideas. They took the inspiration, used their own creative license, and made flower arrangements better than my inspiration from L.A.! So much for me throwing my bouquet. Once I saw it, there was no way we were parting. I made one of my bridesmaids fullfill their duty by letting me throw theirs. :) They also provided all the beautiful candle stands for my wedding. They were very willing to work with our budget without sacrificing the overall look and feel of th wedding.

I used Southern Event Planners for my flowers and rental pieces only. Although they provide their own wedding planning services, they were recommended by my wedding planner.

I would not have had a perfect reception without southern events. They took care of everything from the flowers, to the room layouts, packing of the gifts, and telling me where to be during the reception. They brought food to my parents and grandparents so they did not have to stand in line, she also let me know when to cut the cakes, throw the garter/bouquet and when to do the dances. Without them we would have been so stressed out. They helped plan every detail from table cloths and center pieces to buffet and cake table designs. The flowers were fresh and beautiful, I only had colors in mind not specific flowers and they made everything work perfectly.
They worked with my photographers, and reception hall coordinator and worked out all the problems. I was stress free.

I could not have picked a better planner to help me with my wedding. I was planning from out of town and Angela and her staff took care of so much of the planning that I could not due to time and distance. My husband still agrees that it was the best choice we made when it came to our wedding, besides saying "I Do".

Angela and Stacy did an excellent job!!! I would not have been able to do it without them. Angela made sure that my wedding and reception were exactly how I wanted them to be and took all of the stress off of my shoulders and thew an awesome party. Stacy was the best day of planner that a bride could ask for! She made sure everything went off without a hitch! They are a must have to any wedding or event!

Stacy was wonderful ! She was there for me every second before the wedding. She made sure all the guys had what they needed and all my bridesmaids as well. The wedding and reception went so smoothly thanks to her !

I would highly reccommend Southern Event Planners to any new bride-to-be. I had no idea what I wanted for my wedding. I just knew that I wanted it to be classy and beautiful. Angela exceeded my expectations. Angela met with me as many times as I felt I needed and was always prompt when answering e-mails or Phone calls. She found amazing vendors. My wedding was magical and I have Southern Event Planners to thank for that.

Angela from southern Event Planners, was so easy to work with. I had no clue what to do fro my wedding so i brought her a few cut out pages from a Martha Stewart wedding magazine and away she went finding me the best vendors. My wedding day was a dream come true. I highly recommend using them.

Angela and her team left me breathless at my wedding reception dinner. I have received so many compliments, on how beautiful the room was.

I was so impressed with the decor when I attended a previous wedding ceremony, where Angela was the decorator. When I met Angela at her office, I had no idea what I wanted. She made suggestions and my husband and I were very pleased.

Angela and the entire Southern Event team are amazing! We hired her for full scale wedding planning. I had the hardest time deciding on a venue, and wound up showing her my best friend's home on a local lake. I had no idea how it would work, but Angela was full of creative ideas, and I was absolutely blown away on my wedding day! Everything was absolutely beautiful--she totally understood my vision and made it more than I could have dreamed of. She was always very professional and was there for me whenever I needed anything at all! I look forward to using Angela and her team again for party planning in the future!

If you are torn between Southern Event Planners and another vendor, this vendor is the way to go!! My wedding and reception was awesome!! Angela and her team are very down to earth, knowledgeable, creative and thorough. Unfortunately, I am a procrastinator and don't do well with a lot of choices...lol. Angela made sure to give me information in an extra timely manner as well as go on a narrow selections down to 1-3 choices!! I loved the fact that she worked to stay within our budget by finding us vendors that fit within our budget. I felt very at ease knowing I had hired this company, and my wedding and reception would turn out beautiful. If you haven't already booked them, stop right now and do so!!

Angela helped me out so much! She helped me plan things I never even though about! She pays attention to small details which are important, especially when you're already preoccupied with bigger things. She makes sure everything comes together at the end. She made my bridal party bouquets, which were awesome. And helped decorate my whole reception...EXACTLY the way I wanted!!!! Kathleen helped run the wedding and reception. She made sure the groom and I were taken care of the entire time and that everything ran smoothly. She even suggested I take a break outside from our reception because it was a bit hot. Her and Angela worked well together for everything to be perfect.

Before I was ever engaged, I saw many of Southern Event Planners weddings featured in bridal magazines. I dreamed of hiring them to plan my wedding, but in the back of my head I knew they were out of my budget. Despite my previous assumptions, I made the call once I was engaged and was utterly surprised once we discussed pricing. Southern Event Planners is the planner for any bride with any budget! They made sure I had the wedding of my dreams without breaking the bank. Southern Event Planners helped with design, floral arrangements, invitations, and day of coordinating. They also rent out linens and other decorative items. They are a one stop shop for any bride. I did not have to waste time searching for other vendors for decorative rentals. The staff is very personable. During our planning meetings, it was as if I was sitting around the table laughing and hanging out with friends. Towards the end, I felt that they knew me well enough, regarding my likes and dislikes, so I just let them run with it. I was over making any decisions! lol They did not disappoint. I walked into my venues in awe. Everything was beautiful and far exceeded my expectations. I definitely recommend hiring a planner. There are so many behind the scene details that I did not even consider until they were brought to my attention by Angela and her team. One of the biggest compliments that I have received from guests, besides how beautiful everything was designed, is how flawlessly everything flowed. They made sure that the transition from ceremony to reception was executed smoothly. Highly recommend Southern Event Planners to any bride.

We used Southern Events for our reception. We got married in the Caribbean. We were very impressed with Angela's confidence upon meeting with her. The pictures of previous weddings/receptions she worked were absolutely gorgeous. We first met with Angela in May to consult on a November reception. We were charged $450.00 (about $2,500 total) a month & none of that included the items needed to decorate the venue, which for the most part she already owned because she also rents out decor. My husband & I thought that the $450.00 monthly payments were also going towards the decor of the reception itself--surely not just for making phone calls, showing up to a couple of meetings, the setting up of and packing up after a reception. The venue manager emailed and called me complaining on Southern Event concerning misunderstandings on who would supply certain decor. The venue manager also stated to me that my planner did not appear to have my best interest at heart when it came to the financial part. I agreed. Southern Event is all about $. They ending result is beautiful, but the cost to get there was well over priced. I didnt even have a bouquet to throw to the single ladies. They made me one with flowers they found around the venue. From May - November, for a reception alone, we paid Angela about $2,500. That does not include the $ we paid her towards the decor that she supplies from her own rental company. This was a learning experience for my husband and I. We really feel that we got taken advantage of where $ was concerned. I could say more, but im only allowed 2000 characters.
