I cannot recommend Sonar Beauty enough for the perfect glam for your wedding! Kristin and Erin were absolute professionals, and made the whole getting ready process so fun and stress free. They were responsive, flexible, creative, and diligent in their work. They are both insanely talented at their craft and awesome humans in general. They did my bridal hair and makeup, as well as hair and makeup for my 4 bridesmaids and mother and grandmother. Everyone was obsessed with the looks they gave us! Could not have been better. Book them as your glam squad for the big day and I promise you will not regret it! -

Great Hair and makeup
Kristen was GREAT! I opted to do a trial and I didn’t love how I looked after ,but Kristen was SO helpful and able to make changes so it was exactly the look I wanted. She was able to offer me a second trial at no cost and she listened to everything I wanted or didn't want. I honestly have never felt so beautiful in my life. My hair and makeup looked stunning and lasted throughout the night! Kristen and her team were punctual and quick and got everyone ready according to our timeline! -

Sonar Beauty was wonderful to work with! They did hair and makeup for myself (the bride), as well as all 5 of my bridesmaids. We received so many compliments on the hair and make-up. I felt beautiful, and they really listened to what I was looking for. The team at Sonar Beauty was even able to work with me when I had a change of heart for my look. They were able to execute flawlessly and create the look I had exactly in mind. I am so thankful that I was able to work with them on my wedding day. I highly recommend Sonar Beauty to any bride. -

I am so happy with the service that Sonar Beauty Bridal Nook provided. My husband and I were part of the barrage of engaged couples that postponed their wedding (numerous times) due to COVID-19. As a result, we lost a few vendors along the way including my the stylists for my hair & makeup. I was able to contact Sonar Beauty within a month & a half of our wedding and get fit in incredibly quickly. They were also so supportive of me bringing my mom, despite her having her hair done elsewhere and her asking to do her own makeup (by herself) at Sonar Beauty Bridal Nook. They knew instinctively what I needed to make my wedding day perfect and they absolutely kicked butt.
Here are the hardcore deets: my hair & makeup was AMAZING and everything I could have ever wanted. They were so sweet to my mom, which just made the start of my wedding day even more perfect. I would come back here again to get my hair & makeup done for any event AND I recommend coming here period. Do it. Stop reading reviews and wondering. Just do it.

Easy to Work With + Talented Stylists!
The Sonar Beauty team was amazing! Our original wedding had to be moved because of the pandemic, but Kristan was so easy to work with to reschedule. Their stylists Rachel and Ivette did an amazing job doing hair and makeup for myself and my bridesmaids and were a joy to have and laugh with as we got ready for the big day! -

Hair and Makeup - exact to specifications
I used Sonar Beauty for hair and make-up for myself (bride), 3 bridesmaids, mother of the bride, and sister of the bride. We had the salon as well which was very convenient and super cute place to get ready! Felicity did all airbrush makeup which looked absolutely flawless on all of us (age range 30 - 68 years old). It looked natural and held up all day! Ashley did all our hair and she did a fantastic job! I gave her an impossible hairdo which she made my hair look amazing! It had braids every which way, and I'm not even sure how she did it, but it looked impeccable! My bridesmaids as well as family’s hair also looked stunning! And I can say that Ashley matched each photo spot on! I would recommend to anyone! All my bridesmaids and family were extremely happy with their hair and makeup and even tried to book them again for future weddings. I asked for a more natural boho vibe, but considering how spot on they both were, I’m confident they could do anything! It was by far my favorite make-up and hair that I have had done! I tried a few different places in Austin for my hair and make up trial and Sonar was by far the best. I had a natural look, not over done and an amazing up-do. People at the wedding could not stop complimenting my hair. My stylist also made my bridesmaid look amazing and natural. I highly recommend Sonar for bridal and bridal party hair/make up. -

Our stylists arrived right on time and finished all of our hair and make up with plenty of spare time. I had a half-updo with a fishtail braid on the side and curls and my make up was simple. I LOVED it! I received plenty of complements since my looked very natural and clean. -

Kristan was an absolute dream to work with. I had an odd request - early morning style for a 10:30am private ceremony that needed to last through the night for a break in the afternoon and a 6pm-11pm reception. I had a couple of inspiration photos but honestly didn’t really know what I wanted and was just worried about my super fine hair holding style all day. She got creative and worked her magic and it turned out perfect. We didn’t do a trial beforehand.
I also contacted Sonar really close to my wedding date after last-minute deciding I couldn’t do my hair myself and they worked with me to get me and my officiant in for styles super early on a Saturday morning with a smile on their faces. So professional and accommodating! -

Elena and Rachel came to the rescue after my original hair / make up lady broke our contract and cancelled on me and my bridesmaids. Elena was so fast and did a wonderful job on my matron of honor and sister in laws hair. She also did the makeup for m matron of honor and did an amazing job and nailed the look my matron of honor was trying to achieve. Rachel worked her magic on me and did an amazing job on my hair and makeup she took her time and ensured I looked flawless. She even packed me a make up touch up kit for the evening, so I would look gorgeous all day and night thru the reception. I can't say enough about these two, they make a great team and everyone at the wedding commented on how stunning me and my bridal party looked all evening! -

My bridesmaids and I had the best time hanging out at Sonar Beauty Salon before my wedding. Kristen was a dream to work with. She listened attentively to my feedback during the hair and makeup trial and honored the fact that I'm not a big makeup gal by creating a flawless natural look. On the day of the wedding, she was relaxed and laidback which created a calm atmosphere. She also worked incredibly hard and did multiple peoples hair and makeup in a crazy efficient amount of time. Our hair and makeup looked stunning and held up all night at my outdoor wedding on a 95 degree summer day. The salon itself was adorable and comfortable. We brought lunch/champagne and lounged on the cute back patio and indoors in the intimate seating area. We really enjoyed our experience hanging out at the salon and felt glam throughout the evening thanks to our beautiful makeup and hair service! -

Their services are fairly priced, especially since they travel to your venue. A lot of the other beauty vendors were much more expensive. My stylist was Rachel. Not only was she very sweet and friendly, she also did a fantastic trial run and beautiful on the day of as well. I didn’t realize how exceptional everything looked until I got my photos back from the photographer. Rachel is fantastic, and I am so happy with how the hair and makeup came out. I also loved that the wedding package came with a trial appointment, as well as airbrushing and fake lashes. They were also extremely easy to get ahold of, and had great communication. Which was important for me because I was planning this wedding from Florida. Thank you!!! -

Kristan and the team at Sonar Beauty were thoughtful, timely, super professional and agile with my ever-changing plans. Kristan did a GREAT job during the trial, and when, at the last minute, I requested a darker lip on the day of, she didn't break a sweat. I would recommend these guys again and again and again - they did an AMAZING job and I was so so glad to have such professional work on my big day! -

On the day of our wedding, they arrived on time and got to work immediately. They soon had us ahead of schedule and looking absolutely flawless.

Alyssa Sent on 12/07/2017I live in Katy, Tx but my wedding was going to be at The Oasis on Lake Travis. So bring unfamiliar with any hair salons in Austin, I had to do lots of research. After filling out many inquiry forms and trying to get ahold of multiple salons with great ratings for my bridal and bridesmaids hair, I stumbled across Sonar Beauty. They (Hannah) contacted me almost immediately with availability, pricing and contact information. I spoke with Hannah several times and was able to pay the deposit (which covered my bridal hair) over the phone to secure my date and later the remaining balance when I was ready. It was very easy, stress free and convenient. She gave me Elena’s (my stylist) cell number and email so we could continue to be in contact as to what I wanted and when/where she needed to be on my special day. Elena was right on time, showed up with all her supplies ready to go at the venue. She informed me that she worked fast, which was awesome because she would stay for any touch ups or whatever was needed for our hair needs. She was friendly, sweet, and super chill to make the day go by with less stress. Elena did exactly what I wanted for my hair and my two bridesmaids. She was awesome. Had I not used a family friend for makeup, I would have used Elena to do our makeup as well. Thank you Elena, Hannah and Sonar Beauty for making me look beautiful on my wedding day. I highly recommend them and will use them again anytime I am in Austin.

Elizabeth Sent on 10/23/2014Kristan was incredible to work with! This was a destination wedding, so I went to Sonar for a trial just a few days before the big day. Although I was having Kristan do only my hair on the actual day, on the day of the trial she did both my hair and makeup because I was having super-late-in-the-game engagement photos taken afterwards. She did such an amazing job! She was also super sweet and friendly, didn’t seem put off at all by my awkward shyness like some people tend to be. :)
On the morning of my wedding, she did my hair, my maid of honor’s hair, as well as the hair of three other family members and a friend. I could not believe how fast she worked and with such amazing results on every one of us. She somehow made my just above shoulder length hair seem way more abundant than it actually is. AND it was still perfect by the time all of the festivities ended around 3am! Another thing, the salon was just the perfect atmosphere and vibe to start off my perfect day. It is super cute, especially the back room which Kristan so graciously allowed my makeup artist friend to take over that morning. She even offered us a bottle of bubbly she had in her fridge – exactly the thing I needed to ease my anxiety of being the center of attention for the day, ha! :)
So yeah, I highly, highly recommend Kristan for your hair and makeup needs. I wish I lived anywhere near Austin so I could go to her regularly! -
Ana Sent on 11/19/2017Brooke was my primary stylist and she was absolutely awesome! Very down to earth, easy to talk to, had a vision the entire time, and made me feel so comfortable. I set up a trial session with her and had sent her photos of what I wanted - I loved that she and I emailed back and forth to get a good understanding of what I wanted/didn't want; so by the time I showed up for my trial, it was easy to get started. On the day of, my girls and I spend the morning/early afternoon at the salon; Brooke and Kristan took care of all eight us in record time! While they were both efficient, nothing felt rushed, I felt calm and relaxed, and the cozy atmosphere of the salon is so chic and cute; it was so fun! I had 100% trust in Brooke; in fact, after my trial I gave her some feedback on what I didn't like (which was not a lot) and she made notes of that for the day of. I loved my hair and make-up even more! During my trial, there was another girl at the salon who also seemed really sweet and fun to talk to - you can't go wrong with anyone there! (The price below includes my bridal package and the hair styling I paid for my bridesmaids/mom) They know what they're doing, they know how to be efficient, and the quality is so beautiful. I definitely plan to return to the salon for a haircut sometime! Thank you ladies!!!

Kristan took care of my hair and makeup for my elopement. I wasn’t at all sure of what I wanted, and she was so helpful in figuring out a look for me. I even initially wanted a straight blowout for my hair, but she suggested trying some curls instead, and that’s what we went with day of. She also made a trial happen on my tight travel schedule while facing travel issues and delays herself.
Day of, my hair and makeup survived a car accident (I was rear ended when I was heading home to finish getting ready), wind, and some tears (stress and/or emotional). Everything lasted through 10-12 hours of insanity. I would definitely recommend her! -

I used Sonar Beauty for my Bridal portraits and for my Wedding! We used onsite services each time and the staff were amazing! They make you feel very comfortable and relaxed throughout the process and were able to create the looks we wanted based on the pictures we showed them for how we wanted our hair and make up done and even gave professional recommendations. Kristin is a goddess with hair and make up! The pricing was affordable... especially the bridal package, and with all the services we had done we got out in a very timely manner so that we could head to the venue on time! I would highly recommend! -
