The staff helped me browse ones I liked the look of, but also came out with the recommendation that ultimately became my dress. Brand was Essence of Australia. Great Options for Plus Size Brides!
Prior to going to this boutique I did a lot of research on which boutiques carried Martina Liana and Essence of Australia gowns. I looked in particular for boutiques that not only carried these lines but ones that also have samples in plus sizes. So many boutiques have very limited or no dress samples at all in plus sizes. Luckily, Something Blue Bridal is not one of those boutiques! I got to feel like a princess during my entire dress try on. At no point was I made to feel like I didn't have options. Amber went out of her way to cater to me and she was very good at listening to what I wanted and pulled dresses that I actually liked. When I came into the salon, I had one particular dress in mind. However, even though the store had that dress, I didn't even bother trying it on because Amber had pulled a different dress that just took my breath away when I tried it on. My aunt who was with me even started crying. Once she put a veil on me and gave me a bouquet, I knew it was the one. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get my dress in time- we went dress shopping in July and our wedding was in January- but Amber assured me that we would get it by November. And she was right! My dress came in in early November. When I went to pick it up all of the ladies working at Something Blue hyped me up. I felt great! I can't recommend Something Blue Bridal enough. The ladies working there are so kind and personable and they make it their mission to make every bride feel special.

Best Boutique! Amber was Amazing!
Something Blue was one of the best dress shops of the six I visited when searching for a wedding dress. It was my first stop, and it was impossible to top. They have a very nice selection with many options. I ended up finding my dress at their pop-up, The One by Something Blue, which also had beautiful options.
I am extremely indecisive, and everyone that came with me to my first dress fitting knew this… I worked with Amber, and she listened to each detail from all the different dresses I tried on until we narrowed it down to the one that I could not beat at any other dress shop - until their pop-up. I made an appointment a month later at The One and requested Amber be there. That was honestly one of the best decisions I made that night. She remembered my taste. She remembered my style. She remembered my “dress to beat,” and it worked out perfectly. She found “The One,” and it was beautiful. She never rushed me, and it was such a pleasant experience at both Something Blue locations with her.

Best Bridal Boutique
I am so happy we stumbled upon Something Blue. I went wedding dress shopping with only one idea in mind – a long sleeve wedding gown – and walked away with not only my dream dress, but a feeling of gratitude to all of the girls that work at SBB. Celine was my bridal consultant and pulled every long sleeve gown in their inventory. My mother is handicapped, and they were accommodating to place a chair in several areas of their store for her to sit while we browsed through the dresses, while I tried them on, and even at the counter while we checked out. We went on ‘small business Saturday’ in Nov 2018, and received a discount toward a veil which was s surprise and very sweet of them to offer! We were never rushed or pressured into buying anything, and all of the girls at SBB were so sweet and accommodating. If you’re looking for a one-on-one experience with a large selection of beautiful dresses and accessories, SBB is the place to go!

I had so many friends get their dresses from Something Blue that when it was my turn to look for a dress, I knew that this was the place to go. I had Shannon as my consultant and she let us choose dresses we thought I would like and also chose some based on what I told her I wanted. I already kind of knew which dress I wanted, but it was so nice to try on a ton of different dresses just to confirm that I knew what I wanted. Everyone was so helpful and so kind throughout the whole appointment. After I picked up my dress, I still got emails from Shannon asking if there was anything else she could help me with and offering suggestions for where I could get my alterations done at for a decent price. I would definitely suggest going to this store as they genuinely care about you and your wedding!

Had the best experience at Something Blue! This was the first store I visited and ended up being the only store I went to for my wedding dress. I was thoroughly impressed with the wide variety of styles and sizes that they have in store. I came in with an idea of what I wanted and when I wasn't having any luck, the consultant I worked with recommended another style and that ended up being the dress I purchased! Just goes to show their consultants take the time to get to know you, your style and stay within your budget. They also recommended a great seamstress in Chicago (closer to home for me) who made my perfect dress even better! Thank you SBB crew!

I have already told a number of engaged friends about my amazing experience at Something Blue Bridal. I felt so special and well taken care of during both of my trips. The whole team was so patient and helpful. Shannon was always easy to reach when I had a question or started second guessing my decision. I loved that it's a small shop and it doesn't feel corporate, like other shops I have visited. Despite being more intimate, they have so many dresses in every price range! In the end, my dress was absolutely perfect (people are still talking about it) , and so was my day!

SBB was super accommodating for my group and did the best job at making sure I found the perfect dress. After I found the one my stylist showed me similar dresses to make sure I knew that the dress was still the one because I kept comparing all the other dresses to it. They also let me come back later and try on my dress to show my sister because she wasn’t able to make my initial appointment which I thought was awesome.

Something Blue is a look-no-further bridal boutique. Once you see the dresses they have, you’re not going to need to look anywhere else, promise. The girls are amazing to work with and soo kind. I found my dress in May and was able to order it new, get it fitted, and married by October! They even let me borrow this awesome carry-on bag for my flight to Vegas. I came in the store because of so many recommendations from friends, and upon looking online I found my dream dress on their instagram! I couldn’t have had the best day of my life without the help of something blue!

I found my ‘something new at something blue’ and was so incredibly pleased with the dress. It was the exact mix of vintage elegance I was looking for and it made me feel absolutely gorgeous. Something Blue was the only shop I had in mind when first looking to buy a wedding dress. I had known others who had purchased at the store and/or modeled for the vendor, and I heard nothing but positive things about the experiences. The staff made sure me and my group felt comfortable and also an active part of the experience. After choosing the dress, the staff was clear in communicating the order timeline (about 8 months) and let me know when the dress was ready for pick up. The staff also recommended a great seamstress for alterations (Thread Diva), which helped ease any worries I had about getting the dress taken in. I would highly recommend shopping at Something Blue Bridal for your wedding dress!

From the moment we walked in, all of the staff at Something Blue was incredibly attentive and eager to help me find my dress. I walked around and picked some of my favorites with clothespins and my own stylist picked dresses based on what I showed her and what I picked. In the end, I only tried on a handful of dresses, but I ended up choosing one my stylist found for me! The price point was perfect, the dress came in sooner than anticipated, and it barely needed alteration. Shannon and her staff have an amazing knack at finding your dream dress.

The Best Bridal Store in the Region, Hands Down!
This review is long overdue, but much deserved. I had heard about SBB from a few brides I know, but never considered going because I thought there was no way I could afford a dress at a boutique bridal store. A few of the brides told me how wonderful and affordable it was, so I decided to make an appointment. I was blown away by how accomdating and sweet the girl was on the phone and knew from the first call that I had picked the right store. From the moment we walked in the door, the staff made us feel so welcome. My family had so much fun getting to walk around a pick out dresses for me; it really made them feel included. Amber was so friendly and made me feel so comfortable throughout the entire appointment. If I tried on a dress she could tell I didn't love, she would ask if I wanted to show everyone, or just skip it; she never made me feel pressured. After trying on several dresses, I tried on the first dress again, but this time she put a veil and a headpiece on to help me decide, and I instantly knew it was the one. They stayed in contact with me to keep me updated while I waited for my dress to come in, which I really appreciated. Once the dress arrived, the girls were just as friendly and sweet the second appointment as they were the first. She made sure to tell me every trick and tip for caring for the dress, and even took the extra time to help me figure out what bustle I liked, and what to ask the seamstress to do. All in all, it was my favorite part of the wedding planning process! Everyone told me my dress looked like it was made for me, and that's all thanks to the staff at SBB. The icing on the cake? We got home from our honeymoon and had received the sweetest postcard from them congratulating us and thanking me for shopping with them. 10/10 will forever recommend every bride I know to shop here! I drove in to Something Blue from the Chicago suburbs and I am SO GLAD I did! My appointment was on a Saturday and I did not feel crowded or rushed in any way. They allowed me to select some dresses and selected a few for me as well. I found my dress there at my first (and only) dress shopping appointment. When I came back to pick my dress up, they were incredibly kind and my consultant remembered details of my appointment even all those months later. They also allowed us to look at dresses for my mom to wear, and she found hers there, too! Definitely check them out for your special day.

Found my stunning wedding dress!
This shop is small, but the team and owner are incredibly friendly and helpful to work with. I found my stunning dress here on my first trip! We had enough room to try on dresses and I had about 7 of my family and close friends with me to help decide. Cute seating area and large changing room to try on the dresses. They have a fantastic selection and listened to what I wanted and the dress I selected ended up being the second one I had tried on! Highly recommended!

I walked into Something Blue without even the slightest idea of what type of wedding dress I was looking for. I was completely out of my element and already anxious because I came with a larger group than expected. To my surprise, Shannon, the bridal consultant, was my saving grace. She made the whole process so comforting. She took their time to find out what I liked and didn’t try to push my budget or talk me into other styles of dresses. Although, I bought my dress on the first day, I had come in 3-4 additional times to try on my dress and match accessories. Everyone was always so genuinely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for all future brides!

Magical Moment at Something Blue!
My experience at Something Blue was nothing less than magical! Earlier this month I purchased my dream dress and it was all thanks to Sandy and her especially fantastic sales associate Colleen! I came in from Chicago for the sample sale but I saw my dress on the regular sale rack (no try-ons during the sample sale,) through the window while waiting in line and fell in love. After trying on a few of the similar style, Sandy came over to see how I was doing. I told her I was basically drooling over the one on the regular sale rack and that I was probably going to come back to try it on. MAGIC MOMENT: Sandy said, "I've been watching you go back and forth to that dress all morning. Since you're trying on similar styles and traveled a bit to come here, let's make an exception and get you in that dress." I couldn't believe it! Colleen gave me a veil to match and I practically threw my credit card at her after I saw my reflection. I can't say enough about my experience at Something Blue- the kindness, the patience and the willingness to go above and beyond is unmatched. Colleen was fantastic, she knew I was in love with a regular sale dress and did her best to find an similar sample dress without ever making me feel pressured into purchasing. I can't wait to go back when my dress comes in and complete my look with their amazing accessories. If you're in the Chicago area, definitely make a trip to Something Blue, they're so worth it! The ladies at Something Blue Bridal were amazing! From the moment I called to make an appointment to shop for my wedding dress I knew it was going to be a great experience. Everyone was so helpful and happy! You could tell they truly love helping brides find that perfect dress for their special day. Oh my goodness, I can't say enough wonderful things about Something Blue! I was so beyond exhausted after trying on dresses at multiple locations in Indianapolis, Chicago, and New York... I felt like I was never going to find my dress! Then, I contacted Something Blue to try to set up a last minute appointment. Sandy applied via her personal email and was able to squeeze me in first thing the next morning. I found my perfect dress within 30 minutes of being there. The entire staff was so sweet and helpful! I bought my wedding dress from this shop and they were so friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond with their service. They provided me with a dress bag that was specially used to carry the dress on a plane for my destination wedding. They checked in over the period of the year to make sure alterations were going smoothly and that I still loved the dress. They were awesome! Highly recommend.

Something Blue Bridal is top notch - seriously better than any place I've been to/been a customer at. I went to several dress stores prior to SBB (small boutiques, large department stores, & chain salons). I scheduled an appointment at SBB for one of their trunk show weekends - it was extremely well organized. I had three guests with me and we were all encouraged to walk the floor of their beautiful shop and "clip" the hangers of dresses we liked. What was also nice was that I was able to, and felt comfortable, taking pictures in various gowns (my sister lives far away and wanted to see every detail). At many places I went to prior to SBB, I was strictly told "no pictures!" The wonderful girl we were working with was so accommodating and I felt that she was genuinely excited for me and eager to make this experience perfect for all of us - and she TOTALLY did! After the picture-perfect "yes to the dress" moment, several employees and the boutique owner Sandy (who is seriously the greatest person ever) all gathered around and we added fun touches - belt, veil, the whole nine yards. We had payment options to choose from and received a nice discount for paying in full. We snapped an awesome picture holding their adorable "I got my something new and something blue" board that I will keep forever & I got a cute shirt before leaving. My dress came in 1.5 months before they estimated it would. They could tell that I was so excited to get in there to try it on so they were able to get me in the next day! My experience has been nothing short of perfect and everything I've dreamed of for years. I have recommended SBB to SO many people and will continue to do so. Also, they just extended their shop & it's so pretty!

It was a delight to work with the staff of Something Blue. I was able to find and purchase my dream wedding gown in one appointment. My measurements were accurately taken, and my dress was ordered and stored with care until I was able to pick it up, as I lived several hours away from the shop. Sandy and the rest of the staff were friendly, kind, professional, and caring. They listened to me and took my personal taste into account, and helped me find a dress that suited me perfectly. I'm so thrilled with Something Blue and would recommend this shop anyone within driving distance. Please take the time to visit. They have beautiful gowns that you can't find anywhere else. This small boutique was a HUGE game changer. This shop was my second stop on my hunt for the perfect dress. I purchased my wedding dress from Something Blue Bridal. The ladies there were absolutely amazing. This was the second bridal shop I went to and the choices they had there were so different from the first place I went to. I was able to tell them my budget and give them an idea of what styles I had liked and they were able to pull several beautiful gowns right away for me to try on. My appointment went past their closing time but not once did I feel rushed or hear any complaining. They also use to sell bridesmaids dresses and when my Maid of Honor and I went there to look (without an appointment, which is always a risk) they were happy to accommodate us with a fitting room. I was even able to borrow a bridesmaid dress strap so I could compare colors at another shop! Like I said, they are strictly bridal gowns now but I would highly recommend this store to any brides to be!

Wonderful experience here. A MUST STOP place for any bride in the area looking for a gown. I bought "off the rack" and they were so excited for me. Never did I feel that I was not valued because I would not be purchasing a more expensive gown. From the moment I stepped into the shop, I was welcomed with smiles and enthusiasm. It was a small boutique with tons of dresses and a ton of space to try on dresses. This was my 3rd dress boutique and I had not had great experiences so far. I can’t remember my initial salesperson’s name but she was a joy to work with and was really a doll. I came in with a list of dresses that I wanted to try on and we found those plus others that may have looked nice. I ended up finding my dream dress here (San Patrick). The girls “oooed” and “awwwed” and made me feel like a princess, lol! What I loved most the salesperson was not worried about a sale and was just so focused on making me a happy bride and finding something that fit my tastes.
I have had an amazing experience with the owner Sandy. From phone calls, to emailing back and forth, to me stopping in just to match things to the sample in the store, she made the experience worthwhile. The customer service here was above my expectations. I could not have chosen better people to work with and I would recommend Something Blue at the drop of a dime!

From start to finish sandy and her staff were absolutely amazing!! I love shopping small businesses so this was the perfect place for me! The dresses were so stunning and made you feel absolutely beautiful in them. Sandy herself is so accommodating and did everything in her power to make sure me and my girls were 100% happy. Come the week of my wedding, I felt very at ease knowing that she was there for whatever I had needed. With the wonderful costumer service, to the beautiful attire, I would HIGHLY recommend this place to everyone!!

This store is beautiful!!! Always has beautiful gowns that you would have to go to Chicago for. My wedding gown was perfect and ordering was easy! My veil matched perfectly and the bridesmaids loved their dresses so much they would wear them again! Very reasonable prices and quality service! I love the after wedding post card!

I purchased my wedding dress and ordered bridesmaid dresses from Something Blue Bridal and couldn't have been happier! I had two appointments the day I went wedding dress shopping and Something Blue was my first stop...and my last! I tried on a handful of dresses and ended up purchasing the second one I had tried on! The selection and quality of dresses was right on point with what I was looking for!
Sandy is an absolute delight and extremely comfortable to work with! I ended up doing three different shades of neutral for my bridesmaid dresses and when I wasn't able to fully envision the colors from the swatches, she was more than happy to pull some dresses she had ordered for other wedding parties that had come in to show me the colors together on actual dresses! She was honest and very helpful in answering any questions or concerns and knew exactly who I was when I called or stopped in! I had very few alterations to make, especially since we were able to order a custom length, which I didn't know was even an option!
Since it is an awfully long time from purchasing a wedding dress to when it actually comes in, Sandy offered for me to feel free to stop in anytime I wanted to put the sample dress back on to help with matching jewelry, shoes, hair/makeup, or just because I wanted to wear it again for a moment :)
Sandy was such a joy that I wish I had some reason to be able to do business with her again! I would highly recommend purchasing any sort of wedding, bridesmaid, mother of the bride, or flower girl dress from Something Blue Bridal if you want a place that is professional, reliable, and that provides a personal experience!

My first dress experience was at Davids Bridal. They were rude and made me uncomfortable. So I was a little discouraged after that. But I popped into Something Blue and Sandy was super sweet. I didn't feel any pressure and she let me try on whatever I wanted. 2 dresses later, I knew I'd found my dress!
Such a cute boutique with great dresses and awesome service!

Something Blue was GREAT! Not to pushy, gave opinions, very real and down to earth. Just what I wanted to deal with when finding a dress. Sandy is very accommodating, flexible and super easy to get along and work with. I will recommend ALL my friends here for sure!!

Something Blue Bridal Boutique was a fantastic place to look for my bridal gown! I easily scheduled my appointment and was happy to find a wide selection of dresses to choose from. When we arrived for our appointment we did have to wait for about 20 minutes because 2 appointments were still going on, but that is understandable for a popular business. We worked with a stylist who was very attentive for what I was looking for and incredibly friendly. I appreciate her ability to recommend dresses of off what I did and did not like from past gowns as well as her knowledge of designers and fabrics. They allow each bride an area to change as well as a sitting area for her party. I would definitely suggest this vendor to future brides, but would suggest a week day appointment so you are able to be in a calmer environment. Great environment and prices!

Sandy and her team are the best! I have nothing but kind words for this local boutique. This shop has a wide variety of gorgeous gowns at different price points. After 4 different other shops, I found "the one" at Something Blue. Sandy made me feel comfortable and was everything you could ask for in a bridal consultant. Her team helped with each step as well as her wonderful on-site seamstress. I am so glad I was able to support a local boutique as wonderful as SBB! I recommend her to any bride!

I highly recommend Something Blue Bridal in Schererville! I had the privilege of shopping for my wedding gown at Something Blue shortly after it opened. I already had a gown picked out at another shop but agreed to the appointment that my mom set up because my sisters and future mother-in-law were in town and they wanted to see me try on dresses. Little did I know that I would find not only my dream gown, but the BEST bridal experience and friendliest, most professional owner. Sandy truly made me feel "at home" at Something Blue- she was incredibly warm and personable from the moment we walked in and as soon as she put me in "my dress," I knew my decision was made.
I didn't have to think twice when it came to where I would look for bridesmaid dresses. Each of my bridesmaids loved Sandy and were happy to purchase their bridesmaid dresses through her. She was extremely responsive, going out of her way to accommodate not only my out-of-town bridesmaids (including one in California!) but also two pregnancies. She went out of her way to ensure the right sizes were purchased and each girl felt beautiful in their dresses, even with their growing bellies. I could not have been happier with my gorgeous gown and my entire bridal experience and I know my bridesmaids feel the same way. Sandy, thank you for helping me find my dream dress and for making my whole dress experience one of the most fun, relaxing parts of my wedding!

Beautiful dresses, but average experience
The boutique has a great selection to choose from, and friendly staff but I don't know why I let the girls convince me to order a size up from the one I tried on in store (it still had to be clipped, wasn't small enough). They don't provide an in-house seamstress and in retrospect I'm not sure they're qualified to determine what should be ordered. It was quite a project for the seamstress who ended up working on my gown...and ultimately it was still too big. I went to a small town boutique and the owner provided wine during the fitting and was super hospitable, not my experience at this place.
