This was the nicest venue, one of the more affordable options, and had friendly personnel who were responsive and available to make adjustments on the fly. Very professional and worked well. No issues with the venue or hotel during the wedding.

Sofitel is THE place in Philadelphia to have guests for a wedding!

While we did not have our wedding at the Sofitel, it was the hotel we chose for our guests to stay in Philadelphia. And I have to admit, it was absolutely AMAZING! In every single aspect, the Sofitel was perfect. I started talking to Svetlana about a year before our wedding, and at the same time I was in conversations with about 20 other hotels in the city. To my surprise, Sofitel was the ONLY hotel who went out of their way every single time to accommodate all of our requests. Closer to wedding time, I started working with Kristina and Tammy, who were both extremely nice, super responsive to all emails and phone calls, and worked tirelessly to make our wedding weekend one we will never forget. Their professionalism matches the high quality of the hotel! I was so happy to see that all of the rooms were recently renovated, the hotel was extremely clean, the hotel staff was polite to all of our guests the entire weekend, and all of our guests loved the breakfast offered at the Sofitel. I was given a suite which was very spacious. They even brought us a small fridge to put some wedding flowers and brought me scissors when I needed them! These small details make the world of difference. The Sofitel even gave us chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of champagne! To top it off, nothing beats the location of the Sofitel in Center City. It is in the heart of the city near Rittenhouse Square, and is walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants, including the Capital Grill where we had our rehearsal dinner. Sofitel even has amazing valet service who went out of their way the entire weekend when guests needed taxis to get to our wedding venue and to/from the Airport or the 30th Street Train Station. Collectively, we could not have picked, or hoped for, a better hotel for our guests to stay for our wedding! I STRONGLY recommend the Sofitel as the place to stay in Philadelphia if you are having a wedding. You won’t regret it, we sure did not. Thank you again Sofitel staff and management for making our wedding weekend one we will NEVER forget!

Intimate wedding at the Sofitel, Philadelphia

My husband and I got married at Sofitel Philadelphia with an intimate wedding cocktail and reception. We had only two months between our engagement and wedding, and despite the short amount of time we could see several venues in Center City, Philadelphia. Sofitel stood out from others with its spacious wedding venue which was the right size for our small party. We had the cocktail, ceremony and reception all in the same room. Starting from the first day of planning, Michael Mitloff has been very kind, understanding, attentive and professional. He has always greeted us with a big smile at the lobby and managed every detail with such efficiency. He understood our needs and directed us to a great photographer and floral designer. He reserved us a great couple’s suite to get ready on the day of the wedding. Our guests praised the attentiveness of the staff on the wedding day and they even said that they had the best wedding dinner. It was very delicious! We should also mention that Valerie and Amir have been very helpful and kind during the reception. Everything moved very smoothly throughout the night even though we requested a couple changes in the wedding program at the last minute. Now looking back, we think that our wedding couldn’t been any better and we are so happy that we made the best decision by choosing the Sofitel in Center CIty, Philadelphia.

Wow Just Wow

My husband and I where recently married at SOFITEL Philadelphia and there ar no words for the experience. From the planning to execution Lisa was amazing. The food was stellar the service impeccable we could not have asked for a better day.

I can't say enough good things about the Sofitel as a wedding venue. Our guests were so impressed and they really tried to make every aspect of the planning and the day as seamless and easy as possible. The food was delicious, the spaces were gorgeous. And Lisa is the biggest help!

I honestly think we would have considered eloping if it wasn't for the amazing team at Sofitel. From the first day, we were there, Lisa DeLuca was there to assure us that the Sofitel was the best place to have our event and that she would be in our corner, supporting us every step of the way. She was so supportive, getting to know us as a couple, our story, and how to translate that into an amazing wedding. Moreover, what many other vendors consider an upgrade (like chivari chairs or textured linens) are standard at Sofitel. They also offer creative alternatives to make your day special, like a croquembouche instead of a traditional wedding cake. I honestly can't imagine a couple planning a wedding without someone like Lisa DeLuca and without a vendor like the Sofitel hotel!

Perfect experience! They handled so much, but let us add our own personal touch. Also, Lisa Deluca, who was our main point of contact, was a true pleasure. Everyone was so responsive to our needs and questions. Also, for the location, the food, and the amenities, the package cost was the best we found. Everyone kept remarking on how fancy and classy the Sofitel was while we were actually well under budget. I really cannot say enough good things about the staff. Service is everything to me and everyone at the Sofitel was great from Lisa & Valerie who handled the event specifics to our personal attendant the day of. Everyone at the Sofitel truly helped make our wedding the best day of our lives!

The Sofitel was exactly what we were looking for. A modern luxurious hotel in the beautiful rittenhouse square section of Philadelphia where we could have our ceremony and reception and have hotel accommodations for our out of town guests. Compared to other venues we researched they factor in the tax and gratuity instead of just offering the per person pricing. It was really helpful when doing comparisons and factoring in all they offer with their packages. We were very impressed with Lisa Deluca who is just one of the nicest people we've ever met and she was with us all the way through planning and guided us on our wedding day. Thanks to Lisa, Tim and I actually ate and danced at our wedding! Then they packaged up additional meals and cake to the complimentary presidential suite where we were met with a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries. The Sofitel makes wedding planning a breeze as they offer and do so much for you. The hotel block was managed with ease and Svetlana would always respond quickly to give an update and they were able to accommodate a request to increase. The food is out of this world good and our guests just raved about it. The wedding cake is included and when I couldn't decide on flavor they said I could choose two and they would alternate the layers. It was the best cake! The hotel and event staff were all just so nice and accommodating and treated us with such class. I was really impressed with the added details that are included such as the chairs and linens for the reception. They made the room look so gorgeous. I was not stressed at all about planning this wedding largely because this venue is so great. I can't say enough thank yous to Lisa, Valerie and the staff at Sofitel. We had the best time.

We used the Sofitel for our wedding room block. Svetlana assisted us with setting up the room block, and her and her staff made sure we were well taken care of the entire weekend! The staff was really friendly, and the valet parking made parking in the city a breeze. The night of our wedding, we came back to our room and they provided us with a bottle of complimentary champagne and chocolate covered strawberries, with a nice note. It was so kind and thoughtful of them. Thank you for a wonderful and pleasant experience! We highly recommend using Sofitel's accommodations if staying in the city!

We had an absolutely amazing time at our wedding at the Sofitel and I would highly recommend that anyone else getting married in the city of Philadelphia considers them! I initially was hesitant about having our wedding at a hotel since I didn’t want that “cookie cutter” feel. We visited several different venues in Center City Philly (some were hotels and others were just venues with an outside catering service and event staff). From our first meeting with the Sofitel we knew it had the best to offer of both worlds, a convenient, central location, hotel location+ amenities as well as a nice, upscale atmosphere. The package that the Sofitel offers is extremely clear and lays out exactly what you get for the price you are paying. Whenever we had a special request for something, they accommodated us with no extra hassle or charge, which I know a lot of other venues won’t do. The package is VERY reasonable price-wise for what it includes and I honestly don’t think we could have gotten anything else near the value we paid for the service level and day-of benefits that we received. It was so nice to know exactly what we were getting for what we were paying and not have to factor in additional costs if we wanted to tweak something, as I know a lot of my friends have complained about for their weddings. Lisa DeLuca, the banquet manager, was also super accommodating and very easy to work with. She ensured that everything went smoothly, from our meetings to discuss details, to the wedding day itself. I cannot say enough about this venue and you should definitely see what they have to offer!

Our wedding on 10/29/16, was unbelievably amazing at the Sofitel. I immediately fell in love with the event/wedding planners at the Sofitel- Lisa Deluca & Patricia Mcdonald! They're AMAZING! Lisa Deluca, the wedding coordinator, spent MANY hours working with my family and I on making this day perfect. The staff were so responsive and accommodating- helped us make our "Hallowedding" as unique, personal as we wanted it. We truly felt like the main event at the Sofitel that night. On the day of, I got ready with my wedding party in the Presidential Suite (GORGEOUS & HUGE).We have amazing pics of getting ready-some of my favorite from that day. The Sofitel did many personal touches for our "Hallowedding" throughout the evening. We received SOO many compliments-the food was out of this world-both cocktail hr and reception! The Sofitel went above and beyond for me to create "my dream"-a room FULL of desserts-pie station, sundae station, cookies, cake, and trick or treat" candy bags. The dessert room was unreal.
I have to give a special shout out to IRINA, Banquet Director, who is sweet, adorable, and helped make the night perfect, & to DASHMIR, our personal attendant throughout the weekend.He was PHENOMENAL!
I am still on a wedding high and will be for a while. My family and I recommend the Sofitel 100%. Sofitel will take care of you and make your vision come to life. Thank you LISA, PATRICIA, & SOFITEL for making us an unforgettable wedding- it was the best day of our lives.

The Sofitel team did an outstanding job at our wedding on Saturday evening 10/22/2016. Lisa Deluca went out of her way to make this the most amazing day of our life. We were blown away by her attention to detail and her dedication to please us in every possible way. She assured us that everything will go smoothly and that she will deliver our vision and SHE DID! Even more, the evening became a stress-free fairytale. We can't thank her enough and couldn't recommend this venue more. Everything was so perfect! Wedding at Sofitel was as magical as it could get. The room was transformed into a dreamy romantic place. The waiters and staff were attentive and always there for every need to the point that it truly blew our mind. The food was incredible, largest shrimp we've ever seen! This evening was unforgettable. It really doesn't get better then Sofitel and Lisa and her team. Also, special thank you to Valerie, Lisa's right hand, who was there every step of the way to ensure everything goes as planned. Valerie, you are incredible!

If you want to feel like a princess on your wedding day – you MUST book The Sofitel! They are simply amazing. I knew the minute I met with Michael over a year ago that The Sofitel was special. Michael, unlike other venues, embraced our wedding vision (cocktail party style).

During the year of pre-planning, Lisa & Valerie, went above and beyond. They did whatever was necessary to help us bring our vision to life including figuring how to seat 200 people in the Paris Foyer for the ceremony! Every question & concern was immediately answered. The attention to detail including food allergies was refreshing & I knew that no matter what it would be a great wedding & it was!

Lisa & Valerie had everything under control during our wedding weekend - even finding shoes for my mother 45 minutes before the ceremony! During the reception, everything was handled so beautifully & seamlessly! I am still blown away. The food was amazing & our guests have not stopped raving!

The attention to the little details really is what stands out for me. Whenever I met with Lisa & Valerie at the hotel – Michael made it a point to be there to say hello. Lisa & Valerie were in constant communication not just with me but my vendors. They would email me just to check in to see HOW I was doing especially as the big day approached! Valerie being there when we dropped off the dropped off the gift bags & other items for the wedding. And finally, having a server assigned to the bride & groom solely to cater to your needs – these are just a few of the many little touches that make The Sofitel special.

Choosing to have our wedding at the Sofitel was one of the best decisions ever! Throughout the yearlong process, we were never made to feel like a nameless client but friends. Thank you to everyone at the Sofitel for making our wedding such a special and wonderful experience. I cannot recommend the Sofitel highly enough!

The Sofitel is unparalleled in terms of service, sophistication, and quality. From the start, Valerie (one of two main POCs for brides and grooms) walked us through every single step and detail of planning our wedding and I felt as though we were in great hands. From the tasting, where each member of the planning team walked us through the menu and options for the cocktail hour, to the week-of meeting, where each member of the highly skilled team went out of their way to meet us- I was impressed to say the least.

During the reception, everything was handled so beautifully and seamlessly! I am still blown away. During the night of, a server is assigned to the bride and groom solely to cater to your needs and those of your immediate family. He was there to relay any information I needed, and keep things flowing smoothly. I didn't have a care in the world the night of the wedding!

My guests raved about the food, rooms, quality of the bar and servers, and overall atmosphere. You can't do better than the Sofitel in Philadelphia. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Sofitel has inclusive wedding packages. They have a wide selection of food (from Hors d'Oeuvres to dinner entree) to beverage. The bride and groom will receive a complimentary suite the evening of the wedding. My fiance (now husband) and I were very happy with our staying at Sofitel for our wedding. The staff was very helpful and nice with outstanding service.

Fabulous in every way – the hotel, the service, the location, the amenities provided! I just cannot say enough. Our daughter was married at the Sofitel three weeks ago, and I cannot say enough about how happy I am with the decision to have it there. In shopping venues – we decided a hotel was best with so many out of town guests. We were down to two hotels in the Rittenhouse area. The decision for the Sofitel was based on three elements: 1. Lisa Strickland, with whom we felt a great comfort level,
2. the food (Lisa had the chef prepare a complementary dinner for us to experience their farm to table freshness, exquisitely prepared with magnificent presentation and taste, and last but not least 3. the contemporary, light, bright and very comfortable guest rooms. The Presidential/Bridal Suite was huge, very comfortable for the 15 women having hair and makeup done pre-wedding (with 2 make-up artists & 2 hair stylists enjoying natural light with walls of windows). We are thrilled with our decision. Everything went flawlessly, changeovers of rooms/tables/florals/lighting were inconspicuous. From beautifully set up ceremony to the fabulous cocktail hour, the gorgeous reception for which their staff worked seamlessly with our incredible florist, Carl Alan Floral– we were thrilled to be at Sofitel. Our special thanks to Lisa Strickland, who knows her job! She is phenomenal with details, and very easy to deal with. Thanks to Svetlana for keeping us up to date on our room blocks, to Irina for working so hard behind the scene on day of, and to the hotel management for working out a very fair solution when there was a room block issue.

Sofitel is French for Amazing!

If you are thinking about having your wedding ceremony and/or reception at the Sofitel do so without any hesitation! We have been to many weddings through our many years of dating (10 years) and none compare to the level of service and attention to detail that we and our guests received. Lisa is the person that you want guiding you up to and through one of the most important days of your life. We cannot say enough about her professionalism and support. Her official title is Social Catering Manager, but Lisa is so much more than that. She is the world’s greatest wedding planner! Lisa was open, honest, organized, and experienced. We contacted Lisa many times prior to our wedding. She replied each time in a timely manner. Lisa never made us feel stressed or unimportant. She answered each email and solved any problems with ease. In addition, she was able to provide suggestions while also mentioning that they were just suggestions as this was our day. This is very helpful because others elsewhere attempt to do things their way as opposed to what may be special to you and your significant other.

Our guests raved about the food and service. Many said that cocktail hours are usually a waste of time, but this was something to be admired. They could not believe what a great wedding it was. They could not stop talking about the location, hotel, service, food, non-stop drinks and are still talking about it.

We would not have changed a thing about our wedding. The Sofitel has 14 floors, but seems smaller due to its family-like environment. The location is perfect and the rooms are heavenly. We got more than our money’s worth at the Sofitel. We cannot wait to go back for our anniversary to stay in that amazing room!

Choosing to have our wedding at the Sofitel was one of the best decisions in the planning process. The venue and location were ideal, also the staff was attentive. Lisa Strickland is the best wedding coordinator. She knows her industry including local vendors and is a leader in the area. Lisa is on point from day one and is extremely caring and flexible. She was completely accessible, especially on the wedding day to troubleshoot details including printing out last minute stationary for the farewell brunch to insuring both the ceremony and reception went as scheduled. We felt the entire staff at Sofitel made our wedding an important event and priority on their list. All my interactions with Lisa, I didn't feel like a client but a friend was in charge of coordinating my wedding.

I didn't actually have my wedding at the Sofitel but all of my guests booked rooms there. The staff at the Sofitel, and in particular Svetlana Takaki, provided the most comprehensive and professional attention to me and to all my out-of-town wedding guests. They worked extensively with me to secure the necessary rooms and bridal suite, and figured out the best way to accommodate the slew of children who were attending. Svetlana was responsive, patient, and extremely knowledgeable, and answered the many questions I asked during my struggle to provide the best accommodations for my guests. She also coordinated a room where I assembled my Welcome Bags, and provided the name of a neighborhood bar where we could all celebrate the night before the big day. Even some difficult guests were handled with complete aplomb. I recommend The Sofitel unequivocally; the hotel made sure every detail was taken care of to perfection and made my wedding even more extra special, stress free, and perfect.

Our wedding reception at the Sofitel Philadelphia was absolutely stunning! We were married in June 2014, and our guests are still raving about what a wonderful experience they had, how hospitable the staff were, and how delicious the food was! We owe a huge thanks to Lisa Strickland and her staff. Lisa was the deciding factor in selecting our wedding venue and she was an absolute delight to work with. Lisa was flexible, very accommodating, always available to answer any questions, and was very encouraging throughout the whole planning process. My husband and I often commented that we felt as though we were her only client, because she was always so accommodating and willing to help make our vision of our 'happily ever after' extra special. Lisa & Lauren, thanks so much for helping our night run as smoothly as possible! Our night was an absolute success thanks to y'all's hard work!

The wedding suite far exceeds expectations and was absolutely perfect for both getting ready before the wedding and a perfect getaway after a magical night! The staff were so pleasant yet hardworking to make our evening unforgettable. I had my wedding at the hotel. It was absolutely amazing. The staff went above and beyond. During the night, everyone complimented the service and the hotel. Lauren and Lisa were amazing, along with the entire catering and banquet crew. The staff members acted like the wedding was for a member of their own family. Words cannot describe how amazing this venue is! The location, staff, food, rooms are all phenomenal! Lisa Strickland helped us with most of our wedding details. She was so easy to work with, and accommodated all of our requests with ease. Our guests continue to rave about the food and the hospitality of the hotel. You will not regret choosing this hotel as your venue. It exceeded any expectation I could have ever imagined! It was by far the best night of our lives!!!!

We worked with Lisa, the point person for the wedding. She is just a fabulous person. The food was amazing! Family and friends raved about the food and drinks. We had our ceremony and reception in the same space so they had to flip it during cocktail hour. Everything just fell into place in a timely manner, on time, on schedule as planned and hoped! Thank you Lisa and the Sofitel team for ONE UNFORGETTABLE, SPECIAL WEDDING!

Thank you so much for all that you did to make our special day so perfect. We knew from the start that we were making the right choice and as time went on and the Big Day came and went, we could not be happier with our decision. Everything turned out perfectly and people are still telling us how beautiful the hotel was, and how much fun they had. We must say that this weekend was absolutely perfect. Your staff had incredible attention to detail and everything was executed meticulously! We are so happy that we were able to have our wedding at the Sofitel. Please let Xavier know this as well, he worked so hard on Saturday, and Dash was incredible as well.

The Sofitel Hotel staff was simply beyond amazing in providing our family, guests, and most importantly, my daughter, her husband, and their bridal party with a wedding that was perfection. From the pre-wedding planning to the accommodations, to the food, venue, and especially the staff, everything not only met, but exceeded my expectations.

I have but one daughter. I could not have asked for anything more in wedding venue or in the kindness and investment that every staff member committed to making this day special for my daughter.

Lisa went above and beyond in providing us with a room in which to assemble gift boxes, in bringing my daughter special meals throughout our stay (dietary restrictions), in accommodating numerous requests from guests staying at the hotel, arranging for a parking area for the limo and working with our outside wedding planner.

The change-over of the venue from ceremony room to party room was impeccably handled and we received numerous compliments on the food and service.

I do not write reviews but make an exception in this case. I highly recommend the Sofitel as a venue for any large-scale event.

I had my wedding at the Sofitel Philadelphia on April 5th. Everything was excellent. The friendliness of the employees and level of service was outstanding from the valet, bellman through to the restaurant and banquet staff as well as Lisa Strickland, the event manager. Lisa went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect and without her, there's no way we would have had such a successful event. Additionally, Lisa's initial presentation of the venue and her dedication to the Sofitel was the primary reason we chose Sofitel. Lisa was integral in helping us to make Sofitel our final choice. Our personal server during the wedding was outstanding as well and should be recognized as the best in hotel. I believe his name was Dash? I travel regularly both domestically and internationally, and found the service at the Sofitel-Philadelphia to be the best I have seen worldwide. We look forward to returning to Sofitel Philadelphia as well as visiting the Sofitel in Paris and other cities.

Since you two make such a great team I thought I would send one email to tell you just how you exceeded our expectations. Everything we talked about seemed to happen as was planned. I know that behind the scenes might be a different story but as far as I could see and from my guests' comments, it was pure perfection on your end. Your staff was totally accommodating and sincere in their efforts to fulfill requests that were made. Lisa, you couldn't have been sweeter, more organized or more helpful throughout the night and I greatly appreciate everything you did to make our wedding the success it was. Jamie and Jason were completely pleased, and you know, if they're happy we're ecstatic! Although I had nothing to do with the brunch, it was beautiful and left no one wanting anything!
You made the process pleasant and easy and were both a treat to work with from beginning to end. Thank you so much.

My wife and I had the wedding of our dreams at the Sofitel Philadelphia. It truly was an exceptional venue to host our winter wedding weekend. On top of it all, the staff was incredible to work with, especially Lisa Strickland, the Social Catering Manager. Sofitel made our wedding spectacular. We got so many compliments on how great everything was...the facility, the food, the staff, everything. We were so VERY happy with the service and flexibility Sofitel gave us through the entire process. The Banquet and Catering staff went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed...even slippers so I wouldn't have to wander around in my bare feet once my feet had given up on my heels! We love Sofitel and look forward to staying with them again and again. We definitely recommend them and will use them again if we need a venue for any future events.

This was the most perfect place to have a wedding, especially if you are doing the ceremony and reception all in one location. The service is impeccable, the food is amazing and staff go out of their way to ensure that your day goes smoothly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place, especially because you get a lot for your money. If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing and this would still be my number one choice for hosting an event.

We had our wedding (ceremony and reception) at the Sofitel. The process and the final product were both perfect. Their catering staff was a delight to work with -- professional, flexible and thoughtful.

The big day could not have gone better. The food was great and the service was out of this world. I rarely notice the service at weddings, but the quality of the Sofitel wait staff is hard to miss. Lots of people commented on the fact that wineglasses were never empty. Likewise guests who left their table during dinner returned to find that a thoughtful waiter had folded their napkin and covered their food so it would stay hot. That sounds like a small thing, but they showed that kind of attention to detail at every stage.

Everything and everyone was more perfect and more wonderful than I ever could have imagined. Lisa Strickland and Lauren Conner were responsive and supportive in communicating and following through on any comments, questions or requests. Marla Barnshaw was wonderful in addressing our room reservation requests. The banquet director, Xavier Manfrini, and his staff were exceptionally attentive to every detail. We had many rooms of out of town guests who raved about the quality of the rooms and the service of the staff. After many months of planning, I could not have asked for a more exceptional experience!

Sofitel was the perfect venue for our dream Center City wedding! The staff is incredibly friendly, flexible, accommodating, and professional. Lisa Strickland, the catering manger, guided us through the entire process of planning our wedding at Sofitel. She was literally my right hand and helped to keep me calm through the bumps in the road to arriving at our big day. Lisa was very helpful in coordinating with our other wedding vendors, which took a lot of stress off of me as she was much better able to explain to them what needed to take place for everything to run smoothly.

Sofitel is definitely an expensive venue but it was worth every penny that we spent. The service and dedication of all of the staff, from catering all the way to the parking attendants, was unparalleled. Everyone bent over backwards to make us (and our families) feel special and valued. One thing that I really appreciated was the flexibility within the wedding package to accommodate brides/grooms with divorced parents. Lisa and her assistant Lauren worked tirelessly with us to iron out all of the fine points for our event and paid great attention to detail.

If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing about having our wedding at Sofitel Philadelphia! Now that it is all over, I really miss Lisa and LOVED every moment of working with her. Thank you Lisa for all that you did for us!!!!

My new husband and I worked extensively with Lisa Strickland, the Sofitel's wedding coordinator. Throughout this happy, yet stressful process, Lisa was professional, pleasant, and highly attentive to our needs and concerns. Moreover, the majority of my husband's family reside in Wilkes-Barre, PA, and needed to stay at the hotel overnight. Marla, the hotel's main contact for booking rooms, made everyone's accomodations not just adequate, but luxurious, especially after a long afternoon of driving. During the ceremony itself, the bartenders and waiters were polite and efficient; no one's drink was ever empty, and several guests complimented the food and quality of service. After the day was over, many friends and family members commented that our wedding was the best that they had ever attended, and we owe a huge part of everone's overwhelmingly positive experience to Lisa, Marla, and the entire staff at the Sofitel. Thank you so much for making our wedding day so special, and the process of planning it so seamless and stress-free!

After committing to the Sofitel, the catering manager left and a completely new person stepped in to fill the role. I was I'll at ease to say the least but the "new girl" (Lisa Strickland) was incredible. She was responsive, professional, and calm. She made sure everything ran smoothly and that I met my deadlines, be they payments or seating charts, with grace and understanding (I am a huge procrastinator).

I absolutely loved everything about the experience from the tasting to choosing the linens and lighting, to the fabulous bridal accommodations. My guests are raving that the food was the best they've had at a wedding and that the whole wedding was a rocking good time. I highly recommend checking out this venue and working with Lisa.

We had our reception at the Sofitel and it was AMAZING! Planning my wedding was very stressful, and the staff at Sofitel managed to put my mind at ease, and walked me through what a wonderful process this was. We were treated like royalty, and made to feel incredibly special. The food and wine tasting was insanely good, it was very difficult to decide what to choose, the chef is outstanding. He even came over so that my husband and I could meet him and ask him any questions that we had. The day of the wedding was magical, and it went so smoothly. They worked with my vendors and were so professional. Every detail was perfect. The bridal suite was breathtaking on the top floor. Just everything was perfect. Thank you so much Sofitel!!

I have nothing but positive feedback following our wedding at the Sofitel Philadelphia on Saturday, March 23rd. As a matter of fact, friends and family are still telling us how much they enjoyed the weddding and how impressed they were with the service at Sofitel Philadelphia.

From the moment we began planning our wedding all the way through the day of, the Sofitel Philadelphia team were on top of their game with what needed to be done to make our day as special as it was.

On the day of our wedding, the Sofitel team was on hand to make sure everything went smoothly and to ensure we had a memorable day. I have to say they went above and beyond to see this happen for us and for that we are very happy with our decision to use the Sofitel Philadelphia for our wedding.

We loved having our wedding so much at the Sofitel Philadelphia, that we are now planning for our 10 year anniversary special at the Sofitel Philadelphia.

If you are looking for a venue that will ensure you have a first class wedding, then I would strongly suggest the Sofitel Philadelphia.

I can't say enough about how perfect our wedding reception was at Sofitel. The entire staff was professional and attentive Sofitel through the entire process, from the wedding planning to our wedding weekend. Even when there was a crisis less than 2 weeks before our wedding, they made sure my now-husband and I were taken care of and completely confident that everything would run smoothly. I think every guest has told us multiple times that this was the best wedding they've been to, and I know Sofitel was a huge part of making our wedding dreams a reality!

We worked with Melody and Lauren while planning our wedding at the Sofitel. They were extremely helpful in answering all of our questions.

The food and cake were delicious. Guests enjoyed a variety of appetizers and raved about their filet and sea bass entrees.

The staff and service were always there when you needed them and couldn't have been nicer.

The overall look of the hotel is beautiful and everyone makes you feel welcome.

My wedding here was beautiful, there was nothing that we didn't like and we plan on coming back again to visit.

The bridal suite was huge, it was a great room to get ready in with all the bridesmaids and the hotel was helpful in providing us with everything we needed.

We had both our ceremony and reception at the Sofitel. The service provided by the team at the Sofitel more than exceeded our expectations. The venue was perfect in satisfying our vision; the food was abundant and delicious; and the service throughout the process and throughout the day was exceptional. There were so many people, particularly, Melody, Lauren, Xavier, Jessica, & Marla, who made the process and the day perfect for us. The responsiveness and accommodations were excellent. The pastry chef even created a special banana dessert for us to be included in the dessert bar. Our family and friends are still talking about the service and accommodations at the Sofitel. It was the perfect venue and I highly recommend Sofitel Philadelphia.

If you're planning a wedding, choose the Sofitel Philadelphia! Their outstanding French service, their level of attention to detail, courtesy towards you and your guests, fantastic staff, and of course the fabulous food can't be beat! We used the Sofitel for both our hotel block and for a brunch the morning after the wedding. First, the hotel itself is wonderful! All of our guests raved about their rooms and it is definitely a great value for such a nice hotel downtown.

The brunch worked out really well, too. The food was great and we had a nice private room for an "open house" atmosphere. The food was overpriced for basically pastries, coffee, and juice but it was worth it for the convenience.

An amazing choice for a Philadelphia wedding

The Sofitel exceeded my expectations and made my day amazing. My husband (who is British) and I looked at 10 venues and this was the only one where the coordinator Lisa DeLuca asked about us as a couple and what we were looking for and incorporated that into the reception. I live in the UK and had to rely on my mom and the Sofitel and they made planning seamless - nothing was too demanding. The Sofitel's package per head INCLUDES tax and service -which made it much easier to budget, was one of the most reasonable and offers a lot of value for money. Guests remarked how classy the food and setup was. We had a US/UK red/white/blue theme and Lisa and her team went out of their way to add touches such as blue lighting, red white and blue petits fours and fruit cake. They adjusted the drinks list to accomodate our favorite beer and wines and set up coffee in the lobby for guests. They set up a lovely room for hair and makeup on the day of the wedding and Lisa got the florist back there after the delivery had mistakes. Also a thank you to Valerie who works with Lisa, Svetlana who smoothly handled our room block, Olga who supervised the reception, Dashmir the banquet server who made the Sunday morning brunch flow smoothly and my wine glass filled at the reception and the rest of the warm, professional, friendly staff. I really had a day of a lifetime and I would wholeheartedly recommend the Sofitel as a reception venue.

Sofitel was a beautiful place to get married! It's elegant and upscale and the service was terrific. The food was fabulous and I was especially impressed with our wedding cake, which came with the package. We picked a chocolate chip and white chocolate mouse cake, which was to die for. I had shown the pastry chef a picture of what we wanted and she really put together a beautiful cake that was exactly what we had wanted. Our guests raved about the food and the cake. The top shelf open bar didn't hurt either. We had both our ceremony and reception at the hotel and both were set up perfectly. Again, the staff and service was terrific. An added bonus included with the wedding packages are that bride and groom get to stay in the presidential suite which is the size of an apartment, and both sets of parents get a junior suite the night of the wedding. The only blip on our experience was our event coordinator... she was a little flaky the day of the wedding and we temporarily got locked out of a room that we needed to be in after the ceremony.

Responsive and professional. They helped my wedding planner and I pull together an amazing evening. The Sofitel staff is amazing (especially the wait staff and bartenders who were patient and very attentive)! My guests couldn't stop raving about the food (especially the hors'd'ouevres stations)!

The venue itself is a stunning oasis in Rittenhouse Square and is convenient for guests for accommodations, restaurant options, and the beautiful hotel bar which is where we had our after party!

So glad we chose the Sofitel!

Reception only. Beautiful place to have a wedding reception. The ambience and decor was amazing and they definitely worked with us when we needed additional touches for our reception. The hors doeuvres were AMAZING!! The main course I was abit disappointed about because the food presented to us during the tasting was much better. However, I did hear from multiple guests how much they enjoyed the food so maybe I just received an overdone filet? The wedding cake was very disappointing. Granted the decorations to the cake were beautiful, the taste and texture was like eating cornbread. Overall though, we got multiple comments about how awesome and professional the place looked and we really enjoyed having our wedding there.

Venue: Very classic and simple.

Food: This is the reason to have your wedding here. The food is spectacular!

Staff: I don’t have enough positive things to say about the banquet manger, Jessica. She was AMAZING! The wedding coordinator they provide… nearly awful. Hotel staff & waiters polite.

Guest Rooms: typical overpriced high end Center City Hotel rooms

As the reviews before us mention… the HIDDEN CHARGES! Make sure you get everything clear from the beginning and constantly check your emails, papers sent by them, everything! Most of the time when they quoted prices first it was without tax, service and gratuity until we clarified.

In the end our wedding was lovely, the space was fine. But to be honest there was lots of unnecessary stress from myself, my husband and my parents. I would only recommend this place if you are planning to hire your own wedding coordinator.

The Venue/Rooms: We had our wedding reception at the Sofitel. I must first say that it is a beautiful hotel and the room rates are great for a downtown hotel. We had a block of 30 rooms. The guests loved their guestrooms and the bridal suite (which I had for two nights) is larger than most people's apartments!! Fantastic!! It allowed all of the women to get ready together on the day of and my husband and I enjoyed it after our wedding (whirlpool tub for two). The ballroom is essentially just that, a ballroom. They just re-did their carpets (nice, in browns and creams). It's a more contemporary ballroom as is their hotel. We were looking to jazz it up and did all sorts of lighting, uplighting and draping and it came out beautiful. I can't tell you the amount of guests that told us (and our families) how it was the best wedding they ever went to. We are still hearing it a month later!

Personnel/Coordinator: Most of the personnel there showed great customer service. The wedding coordinator (who also did the sales) there started off ok (not great), but ended up being too high-strung and displayed poor and emotional behavior just days before our wedding (and I thought the bride was supposed to the uptight one!). Overall, she was also a little ditsy (forgot requested things or previous meeting discussions) and certainly seemed "green" (always needed to ask her boss for permission instead of being the one to grant things) but she got the job done (with assistance from me and my outside wedding coordinator who kept her on track). Putting her aside, the rest of the service was great. During the reception, everyone's needs were tended to and then some! Water glasses were constantly filled, napkins re-folded whenever you left the table, etc. The banquet manager (separate from the coordinator) kept it all on track that day.

Food: Fantastic!! We've all been to weddings in which the food was cold or you had small portions. Well the Sofitel is not that place! Everyone raved about the food and the amount that we had. Cocktail hour we had tons of food and we choose the filet mignon, chicken rolletini, and vegetarian puffed pastry as the entrees. The steak (7oz) you could cut with a butter knife! Everyone was served at the same time and the food was hot. Hands-down, great food!

Wedding Cake: This was included in the package. To be honest my husband and I both hated the icing at our tasting session. The pound cake itself was good but the icing tasted "like Crisco" according to my husband. It definitely was not sweet and tasted funny. We requested that they make sweeter icing for the wedding day. They honored our request and it turned out decent. We had mixed reviews on our cake from the guests. The majority liked the flavor, some didn't and my husband and I thought it was ok. It looked nice though.

The Hidden Charges: Be forewarned that by our wedding day, we felt that they (specifically their wedding coordinator) were constantly trying to nickel and dime us on every little thing. Here's where keeping all of your notes and being organized comes into play. I was able to reference back to conversations and meetings in which no charges were discussed for things and was able to win the battle. If you are not this organized, you will get taken. Make sure you agree to everything upfront before signing your package. I was able to negotiate a ton of things as part of our package and I'm thrilled that I did.

Conclusion: We had a beautiful wedding and I'm thankful for that. Would I do the wedding there again? Maybe. I'll be honest, I (We) was (were) very frustrated at the end with their coordinator and the shananagans that came through at the last hour (to the point where I am considering writing a letter to upper management). The guests were none the wiser and had a great time with great food. So, it may be a bit of frustration and organization for you, but your guests will have a great time at a beautiful hotel!

The Venue/Rooms: From the minute our guests entered their overnight rooms before the ceremony I was getting txt messages about how beautiful the hotel and rooms were. This is a very very upscale and chic or contemporary hotel. If you're looking for a classy and modern event this is your place.

Personnel/Coordinator: This is the beginning of our issues... The reservations had to go through a manager because there was one gentleman at the front desk who did nothing but mess up every reservation that was called in. He booked them for wrong times, didn't give the correct room block rate, booked for incorrect weekends and more. Absolute mess. They also refused to give the groomsmen a room to get dressed in so they did it in a guests room... The coordinator seemed like she hasn't had much experience whatsoever, and the rehearsal was all out of order and incredibly brief. It lasted all of 10 minutes and no questions were answered. Our priest whispered us through the entire ceremony as we were doing it since we barely had no practice. They were incredibly forgetful as well, we always had to argue and remind them of everything.

Food: INCREDIBLE. Every guest was blown away by the food. We did a duet option so we didn't have to mess around with food choices on RSVP cards.

The Hidden Charges: As one person said before, this hotel will nickel and dime you through everything. They are extremely deceiving and you MUST ask a million questions and read the contract front to back 100 times. We were slapped with a few thousand of hidden charges a week before the wedding. They word the contract very confusingly.

Despite the charges and all the issues, it was a beautiful wedding and we've had nothing but compliments from our guests.

I've read other reviews about the Sofitel and I wish that I could say I had as good as an experience as the rest of the brides had. My guests raved about the food and the night of the wedding our waiter was superb. I was never left without a drink in my hand. Unfortunately, all of the planning that led up to the event was riddled with stress, frustration and eventual mistrust with the Catering Manager: Lauren, the Sales Manager: Lisa, and the Sales and Catering Coordinator: Svetlana. My husband and I, had a bait and switch pulled on us. When we met with the Sales Manager, we were told that the hotel could accommodate us with complimentary rooms for Friday and Saturday, and "anything could be done to create the BEST wedding cake", etc. After we signed the contract, all bets were off. Our guests were charged a higher room rate than the rate we contracted for, we were nickel and dimed over everything that we wanted for our cake, and the rooms were not comped as was promised. A few months before the wedding, we were contacted by the Catering Manager to sign BOE forms and I was asked for the forms numerous times after sending numerous times. I don't know if these particular people just don't work well together or if they've gotten to the point where they should retire from this business, but I've never felt so disgusted to work with a group of "professionals" in my life. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone EVER!
