Of all the many decisions we made for our wedding, choosing Lion & Lamb Events turned out to easily be one of the best choices we made! My groom and I had to plan a wedding in Houston while living in Chicago and we really couldn’t have done it without Sobi Qazi and the Lion & Lamb crew. Having to plan from a different city, let alone a different state, can be extremely stressful and I was really looking for someone reliable and very well-organized. I had heard horror stories about some friends’ wedding planners, so I was very thankful to know that I could reach Sobi easily anytime, from the beginning of the process until the very end. Also being out of town, we put a lot of trust in Sobi to find vendors for our wedding. She has great contacts and relationships with the best vendors, so she was able to help us put together an amazing group that worked with each other seamlessly. Sobi also organized it so that we could really maximize our time with our vendors during our visits to Houston. She even offered to go to meetings on our behalf when we couldn’t be there which was so helpful. As an added bonus, Sobi has a natural sense of style and great design aesthetic that really made her weddings stand out to us when we were first researching planners. I also really appreciated that she was honest and gave us advice on when to save and when to splurge, so that we didn’t unnecessarily waste our money. I think the best thing of all was that we were able to truly relax and enjoy our wedding, and spend time with our guests. Many guests commented on how Sobi, Amy and the L&L crew were all over the wedding venue taking care of everything, and they even brought my groom and me food and drinks. The whole wedding ran smoothly and turned out better than we imagined! Several guests even told us after that it was the best wedding they've been to. I will highly recommend Lion & Lamb Events to any family and friends who will be getting married!

Amy and Sobi are the best! They make wedding planning so easy and ease the stress. Our two ceremony day was executed flawlessly and our families did not have to worry about a thing but enjoying themselves. Go with Lion and Lamb for a well planned and beautiful wedding!

Hiring Sobi and Amy from Lion and Lamb was the best money spent on the wedding! For the day of, I only concerned myself with relaxing and looking pretty. Sobi took care of the rest! She executed my vision perfectly from working with the hotel, decor, caterers, photographer, videography, and more. She has excellent working relationships with multiple vendors which allows for better pricing and accountability. I learned quickly that without someone to organize and execute your vision, all the money spent on everything else is wasted.

Being Pakistani, it's not that common to have a wedding planner, and I have no idea why! I was big on having an on time, very organized, non hectic wedding. Pretty much unlike any other desi wedding. Sobi made this happen. She kept to the schedule, politely informed guests to take their seats (and stay in them!), and worked with the vendors to make sure things went perfectly. She also speaks Urdu fluently, which helps with the aunties and uncles. My parents and family loved having them! I felt like Amy and Sobi where my eyes and ears while I was on stage, helpless to control things. They always came through, they even made sure we ate and had plenty of diet coke :). I was hesitant to hire a planner at first, but I'm so glad I went with Sobi! You won't be sorry!

Hands down, Sobi and her crew know how to setup and plan a wedding !!
From our initial meeting and all the way till the end of our reception, Sobi took care of EVERYTHING !! You gotta love a wedding planner that respond to emails and texts IMMEDIATELY ! We wanted an exotic and unique wedding, and Sobi helped us achieve that ! She had even crazier ideas than we had LOL.
She was there in all the meetings we had with vendors, she made sure everything was clear and on paper, and she made sure we are getting the most for our money !
The day of the wedding, she was EVERYWHERE !! Sending us pictures of the setup and decor of the church and Hotel ballroom when we were still at home getting dressed ! She rocks !!!
We recommend Sobi and her team to all the brides out there ! They will take away that stress out of the equation !!

What can't I say about the WONDERFUL Sobi & team at Lion & Lamb! I loved her so much I convinced two friends to book her for their weddings next year as well! Sobi did an amazing job from start to finish. We had a limited budget and she was able to work within our budget and make our special day that much more special. We were so pleased with her responsiveness (she replies to emails at 11pm!) and her ability to make anything beautiful! Our venue was not the best to work with but she went above and beyond to minimize the disruption to our guests (and there were serious disruptions). I can't thank Sobi enough for the awesome job she did!

I have to preface this by telling you that I didn't pay anything for Sobi's services. I was selected in her drawing for a free one-year wedding planning package at the Houston Bridal Extravaganza in July 2011. I was shocked and amazed at Sobi's generosity in giving away her services for a FULL YEAR!

Sobi was a great help in planning our wedding. She will be there for you as much as you want her to be. I really enjoyed planning my wedding (and I didn't want to abuse her for free, haha), so I probably didn't rely on Sobi as much as I could have. But when it came to making appointments, voicing her opinion when you asked for it, and throwing out ideas, Sobi was a critical part of our team. She came to my dress appointments and kept quiet but gave me her opinion when I really needed it. She scheduled appointments for our food and cake tastings, our invitation design sessions, and DJ. She researched hair and makeup vendors for me and gave me her suggestions. On the wedding day, Sobi was calm, professional, and organized. She never came to me with issues on the big day, like when our flowers were late and in the wrong vases. She handled everything seamlessly.

Sobi was very responsive to emails and always punctual. I felt bad because I was often late to meetings, but she was always so nice! Sobi was also very flexible when I needed to change appointment dates or times. Don't be fooled by Sobi's young age, she is a hard worker and will get done whatever job you give her. Most importantly, she will keep you and your party organized at your rehearsal and on your wedding day.

I will never forget the amazing gift Sobi gave us, and I hope her other clients feel as lucky as I do. Having been through the process now, I would recommend that every bride hire a planner (something I was skeptical of before), even if it's just for the month before. You have no idea how hectic that last month will be, and Sobi will help you through it!

Joseph and I were blessed to meet Sadie with Lion and Lamb Event Services. She and her team were very professional, knowledgeable, and great at what they do. She made the entire process absolutely stress free that Joseph and I were able to sit back and just enjoy the experience. We didn't have to worry about a thing! She helped us find great vendors and gave us great suggestions that we never would have thought of on our own. On the wedding day she made sure everything and everyone stayed right on schedule. We received so many compliments on how beautiful everything was and our family members were so impressed with them as well. Hiring Lion & Lamb was truly one of the best decisions we have ever made for our wedding and we definitely recommend them to any engaged couples!

South Asian weddings are long, complicated, exhausting and very detailed oriented. Lion and Lamb made our Big Fat South Asian wedding BEAUTIFUL, Stress-free and fun! They helped with the overall timeline/event management for all 3 days of our wedding…yes- 3 days! From managing the family photos to setting up reception for 900 people- Sobi and team were there 200% with their hard work, clever solutions and attention to details! I truly believe that our families and guest were so stress free during the reception due to the hard work from Sobi’s team at Lion and Lamb. I hired Lion and Lamb to help plan my wedding. My husband and I work long hours and knew we needed someone who could keep us organized and on a timeline so we didn't forget anything for our special day. Sobi, my wedding planner, was a blessing! She works with the most amazing vendors; who in turn gave special discounts or extras for hiring through Lion and Lamb. This was huge, because I had received some quotes from these vendors prior to working with L&L and the quotes were $500 - $1000 more! She made all my appointments, followed up on quotes and ideas, and helped plan all the pre-wedding parties as well.

There was no limit on time with her either; I could call, text, email or meet up with her really whenever I wanted and she truly made me feel like her only bride (when really she had a wedding/event almost every weekend).

The day of the wedding, I had absolutely NOTHING to worry about! Everything was perfect and I didn't have to ask about or check on anything!

They are a great company to work with, the girls are so young and trendy- they know how to keep tradition but add such a great, fun element! Loved working with them and highly recommend to future brides!

A GREAT AND PLEASANT EXPERIENCE

We hired Sobi for the Romeo & Juliet package and what can I say, she was absolutely amazing! My husband and I were recently married in December and without Sobi I'm not sure we would be writing this review right now ;) Since we are from Venezuela we were not familiarized with how things were done here in Houston . However, from our first conversation she never skipped a beat. She always managed to make time for my calls and with her insightful suggestions for the little details and her dynamic personality, Sobi pieced together what turned out to be a beautiful wedding and pleasant experience for both my husband and myself and all of our guests. It was a pleasure to work with Sobi for our wedding celebration. Sobi is a great coordinator. Initially we hired her to help us plan our engagement party, two weeks before the event we added more to the load and told her we wanted to have a surprise wedding ceremony that same night. We had no clue on where to start and she was very helpful in introducing us to all the vendors that match our budget and taste. She also kept us in check as the time came near to make sure we had all the vendors selected. At the day of the event she was there from the morning making sure the décor was being set up properly. During the party she was very helpful in doing whatever request I had. She kept a watchful eye and was on top of things. I definitely would recommend her for any type of event.

Sobi was a lifesaver! She was there any time any of my vendors were not responding and helped make sure they got what I needed back to me in a timely manner, often saving me the hassle of multiple phone calls to get small things done. Her services really helped in the last month when I got slammed at work and was working late nights. With vendors closing shop at 6pm it was amazing to have someone who could go during store hours to drop or pick things up in regards to paperwork as well as set up items and I could continue to focus on my own job but not at the sacrifice of my dream wedding :)

Choosing Sobi from Lion & Lamb Event Services for our wedding/reception day of coordination was one of the best decisions we made. She was very professional and accommodating down to the last minute. There are so many details that she took care of for our wedding and reception, and the events would not have gone as smoothly had she not been there. Most importantly, she delivered on everything she said she was going to do. Let me repeat that...she did EVERYTHING she said she was going to do. I cannot emphasize enough how important that is for a successful event, not to mention that it really reduced my stress level the week of the event!

I met with Sobi prior to the event date to go over everything that would need to be done during the events, and she was informative about what to consider and worked with me to figure out how to make everything run on time and the way I want. She was very sweet and easy to work with, not to mention organized and listened to what I wanted. She made sure to ask questions so she could understand the type of wedding/reception I wanted (and not necessarily what would be 'easiest' for her to handle). She also made sure she got all the information she would need for that day (including setup diagrams, vendor contact info, schedules, etc). She even followed up with any questions she had after reviewing everything I had given her. She confirmed all of my vendors for the day, and took care coordinating all of the details (and believe me, there were many of those) and setup of the venues. She also made sure we kept to our timeline during the reception, which was amazing (and awesome) considering we had about 185 people at the event to handle. During the event, Sobi was calm and very organized. Some of my guests even commented that she was very sweet and was doing a great job handling everything.
Sobi was invaluable to us with all the logistics she took care of...and she was the biggest reason I was able to relax on my wedding day! She handled everything that day and I didn't have to worry about ANYTHING!

Sobi and her team were very accommodating and went above and beyond what you would expect for the price of the Final Month package. Given my busy schedule I truly don't think I could have gotten everything organized and ready during the last month before my wedding without their help! If you are at all considering having a day of coordinator, DO IT and I would HIGHLY recommend using Lion & Lamb Event Services. I contacted dozens of coordinators before deciding on Lion & Lamb and their services were worth every penny! I can't emphasize enough how valuable their services were.

Sobi was my savior while planning the wedding! I was trying to plan a wedding in Sugar Land, TX while living in another state and working full time with a hectic travel schedule. Sobi worked with my family and sister in Texas to implement my style and my ideas flawlessly. From the time I said”Yes!” to Kier, I knew I needed a wedding planner. I needed someone to help guide me though the wedding process because I had no clue where to start or what to do. I registered on the Knot.com and started looking over my options. I received and email from the Knot with a coupon for Lion and Lamb Services. We gave Sobi a shot and set up a meeting. She asked us all kinds of questions to get a feel for our personalities and what type of wedding we had in mind. We both thought Sobi was perfect for the job. Sobi had lots of vendors she had used before with for other clients and there were a few we had to hunt for that all worked out perfectly for me. Sobi took care of all the things I didn’t have time for since I work full time 9 - 11 hour days. She did things like scheduling appointments, setting up contracts and the day of timeline. She knew all the right questions to ask my vendors. She had a vision of what I wanted and conveyed it to the vendors to ensure that I would be offered all the right options for me. Sobi had offered a lot of great suggestions I had never considered. She sent me a picture of a bride that had a fuchsia petty coat under her wedding dress. I had to have it. My mother liked the idea so much she made it for me. My wedding was perfect. Sobi and her assistant Sadie kept on top of everything. If there was a hiccup they addressed the situation promptly and efficiently. I have and will continue to refer Sobi to my friends and family and everyone else I meet planning a wedding. I chose Sobi through recommendation. She is very professional in what she does. She made sure I was not worried about anything the week of the wedding. She always responded back to my emails and texts. The only thing to keep in mind is that she has more than just one wedding so availability to match with mine was really hard.

Sobi was definitely a big help for the wedding events. I had a few issues with her scheduling bc she had too many of her other clients needing her after 5pm which was the case with me but I wasn't left with much choice so I had to change my schedule around to meet hers which made it difficult for me at work. I had purchased the full package but a few appointments I had to attend alone which I didn't expect . Overall I think having a planner is crucial to wedding planning because I couldn't have done it all without her but maybe I should've chosen the second package. The month prior to the event Sobi was a great help and I was able to count on her to get a great deal completed. But a lot of responsibility fell on me still which made me a bit frustrated but I was luckily able to delegate to the bridesmaids, but maybe that's just how weddings end up being. Overall, I think all brides need a planner to help them get organized and point them in the right direction but brides definitely have a lot of work and planning to do on their own as well. I suggest getting a planner but no need to get the top of the line packages.

We booked Sobi based on how well she presented herself at the Bridal Extravaganza. I just had this great feeling about her and from the reviews, it seemed like she had done it all. I think Sobi's experience comes in so handy when it comes to South Asian (ie. Indian) weddings or maybe smaller casual weddings.

I think my issue with Sobi is that she is so great when it comes to things that are ironed out in advance and she can follow through. She does exactly what she says she wil but then it stops there. I don't feel like she went above and beyond as a wedding planner/coordinator. I had guests coming up to me wondering why there were not enough seats at their table. How come the lighting at the check in table was so bad? I bought extra decorations for the rehearsal dinner and told her she could use them or she didn't have to and her response was "I don't know what to do with this..." Several other vendors told me that aside from telling them what to do, she was not helpful at all. I guess I expected someone who just knew things like, "ok, the photograher and videographer need to be here at this time during the reception" or "it's dark over here, people won't be able to read these escort cards, let's try to find some lighting." or "this appetizer line isn't going to work. we need two lines, not one." These are things a seasoned planner should know just by looking around.

I would recommend her to anyone who is South Asian. I think her skills are best suited for those types of weddings.

Terminated my contract with Sobi the day before my wedding

Hey y'all, I terminated wedding planning services by Sobi literally the day before my wedding, I want to make sure I give my experience in the reviews because the exceptionally great reviews are what made me hire her and its my biggest regret from my wedding that was otherwise perfect for me.

To begin with, we had hired Sobi with the explicit understanding that we would have 2 people coordinating our wedding on the day of. Literally, we told her we cannot move forward signing a contract unless there is a second person with her. We go to dozens of weddings a year and we just believed our wedding would have enough moving parts that 2 people would be necessary. In our first meeting, she said she does not work with a second person so we didn't move forward with her at first. So we went back to her when we couldn't find anyone else, and asked again saying, if she agreed to a second associate, we would hire her immediately. She agreed and said we would have to go with her more expensive "package" that was $3000.00 more than the original package we were considering that had the services we actually needed. We were in a time crunch (literally leaving for Pakistan the next day to do my bridal outfit shopping) so we agreed and she required that we pay in full so we did. Again, we ONLY went with the more expensive package for the second associate. This is confirmed in email and text.

We hired Sobi for my Mehndi (to be on a Thursday) and then the Reception day (3 days later, on Sunday). She would be driving in from Houston to Dallas on the day of the Mehndi. We were paying for her hotel throughout her stay. Her contract is clear that she is only hired for those 2 events (I had my Nikkah on Friday but she was not hired for that).
Multiple times in the 4 months she voiced that she has done much bigger weddings without a second person and each time we told her that's fine, but we hired her to be with a second person. Again, the week before the wedding, she expressed that she could do this alone and again we said, we hired her for the second person to be present to.

Fast forward to the mehndi day, Sobi arrives alone. No second person. My mom asks why. Sobi says her associate was sick so couldn't make it. She didn't find it necessary to tell us this before.

My wedding ended up falling in the peak chaos of Omicron New years weekend so we lost a lot of RSVPs the week of my wedding. We were furiously and desperately negotiating with the two wedding venues on my mehndi day, nikkah day on Friday, and Saturday because we were losing so much money with all of the suddenly dropped RSVPs and we were trying to re-negotiated some arrangement. Sobi stopped responding to all of my moms texts/phone calls on Friday and on Saturday. My mom had been trying to protect me from the drama and finally asked if I could text Sobi for help because the venues had given us an ultimatum to sign some more papers on Saturday and we wanted Sobi to review it quickly.

I texted Sobi on Saturday. She said if we have any questions we can email them and she will try to get to them even though I told her the deadline to sign was in a few hours. She said she had family visiting her that day (the day before my wedding she is in town for..) so she won't be able to meet in person either for any wedding related things. Sobi sticks to her boundaries which Im sure is needed as a wedding planner. But in such a desperate situation, the fact that she was not in our corner, was extremely disappointing. I go into more examples below of how I believe she did not advocate for me as my wedding planner.

When I then asked her if the second associate will at least be present on Sunday, the wedding day, she said no. Her associate got Covid LAST WEEK.

I drafted her termination letter after that and coordinated with all of the vendors myself from there and we pulled it all off with the help of amazing friends and family. If she knew her associate had covid a whole week prior, how were we not alerted of this earlier? We could have found a second coordinator to help with both events. After all of this, I asked her to refund us the price difference between the two packages ($3000.00) since she never brought the second associate and that was the only reason we paid $3000.00 extra and she refused. It would have been fair for me to demand more and I am still considering legal action but Im exhausted and want to move forward. It was entirely fair for me to ask for the $3000.00 back and I was disappointed she flat out refused. She had A WEEK to tell us and to find a solution. But she didn't.

Multiple things could have gone smoother on my mehndi and my mom wouldn't have been running around coordinating things if Sobi had brought the second associate. We paid a lot extra for the venue to serve sodas during dinner. There were no sodas when dinner service started and my mom had to flag someone down to have it sorted out and the drinks came out half way through dinner service being done.

My DJ tried to leave 2 hours earlier than their contract stated. I ended up begging them (as the bride) to stay an extra hour. My family and I were having such a nice time sitting together singing and we had to cut it abruptly because the DJ decided to pack up early. Sobi was nowhere to be seen for this.
She never formally introduced herself to the out of town Groom's family so they had no idea what to do, where to go, where to stand and they all said said was cold and not friendly.
I will say, she had moments where she was of help. Not $8000.00 worth of help, but she was helpful. But other moments where she was just not an advocate for my vision. For instance, we asked her to ask the 2 venues where we could mail the flower petals we wanted to use to toss during entrances so she asked the venues and they said flower petals are not allowed because they stain. I asked her to follow up because we wouldn't be using a lot, and we would use white flowers, etc. Sobi said no there's no point following up because this is a normal policy by hotels. I went ahead and emailed both venues myself then, told them we wouldn't be using a lot and how we would be using them, and they both approved it immediately and said it was no issue at all.

Things like this happened multiple times where I myself had to get things done more creatively than she could. I'll give it to her that in some ways she was extremely helpful for me and my family when we were new to this world of wedding planning. She's kind and seems to care and she has a calming presence in meetings. But she's not organized and she will not advocate for you. I had multiple vendors who came to me with questions leading up to the wedding because they said Sobi wasnt responding promptly or helpful. I know she might have other weddings but then she should establish a better relationship with the vendors so they aren't all reaching out to me. I was in multiple email threads where she was emailing the wrong DJ or wrong vendor and I had to email the vendor separately to clarify the situation.

There was a mixup with my floral hair jewelry on the day of my mehndi. Apparently she thought someone would pick up the jewelry from her home instead of dropping it to us on site. The jewelry artist called me while Im getting my makeup and hair done and asked when we were picking up the flowers and I panicked because no one could leave and drive 40 minutes just to pick up the flowers. I call Sobi to tell her the situation. She offers no solution on the phone. So then I propose, we can send an uber to the lady's house and they can pick up the jewelry and bring it back to the venue. Sobi doesn't offer to coordinate that. I, as the bride, while Im getting my hair and makeup done, is calling an uber for the floral jewelry lady so she can send over my jewelry. A second associate could have handled this while Sobi apparently oversaw the decor downstairs. (My decor vendor told me separately that Sobi was entirely unhelpful and thats why the decorator was also texting me throughout my hair and makeup application)

We found out a few days before Sunday that there wasn't stage lighting. This would have been a big disaster. I was emailing all of my vendors trying to see if they had contacts. I was calling and emailing multiple new vendors around DFW trying to find a solution. I did this alone. I problem solved alone. She was nowhere helping because she said she had to take meetings for a wedding that was taking place in 6 weeks....your bride, the week of her wedding, has no lighting for her massive stage which Sobi knew was the part of the wedding I was most excited for, but she couldn't help me with it.

I spent $8000.00 on a wedding planner knowing it was a MASSIVE expense but it would be worth it at the end of the day because me and my family could enjoy my big Pakistani wedding because we would know everything was taken care of and that's all I wanted for my family. For them to be happy and relaxed. Dealing with Sobi that week of my wedding was an absolute nightmare.

Sobi Qazi was the wedding planner for our Austin wedding. After much in depth research and chatting with her on the phone we decided to go with her knowing that it would be a long distance working relationship since we lived in Boston. On the phone, we were reassured that she would be a full time planner leading up to the day of the wedding and were under the impression that the finer details of the wedding would all be handled by her. We were further relieved because we had done the major part of the planning before hiring Sobi by picking out our wedding venue so figured she would have a head start on preparations. The process started with her emailing us a sheet of her preferred vendors. After considering some, we decided to be proactive in the process and made further suggestions outside of her list that would better fit our budget and style. This, from the get go was a problem for Sobi since she was not ready to work with vendors outside of her preferred list. Maybe she should consider including that in her contract! Pretty much from that point forward, she was uninterested in helping out and we spent majority of our weekends planning our own wedding!!
You expect the planner to keep you on schedule, keep things flowing, and bring on her best communication skills that day. This is where she was seriously lacking. She was not at all communicative regarding couples photos and handling the group pictures in a coordinated manner to a point where we didn’t even get to take photos with some of our loved ones because there was too much chaos. She never established that rapport with the couple and the family members to push them forward and get things done. We were never kept informed on what was happening on the wedding day. We missed out on couples portraits both at the wedding and reception. If you want to spend a whole lot of money and be pushed around to go with everything the way Sobi prefers then by all means go with her. DO NOT recommend.
