  Highly recommend this vendor, they’re awesome!

  We worked with Allen through the planning process and he made it easy to put our menu together and solidify all the services we needed from them for our wedding. Having the catering and bartending all go through Smoke Shack was one less company we needed to hire and I wouldn’t do it differently. The staff on site was fantastic and professional. The food was excellent and our guests couldn’t stop talking about how good it was! Thank you Smoke Shack BBQ for doing your part and helping make our wedding day perfect!

  Incredible food, amazing staff, great experience!

  We are so thrilled that we booked Allen and his team at Smoke Shack BBQ for our wedding day! Throughout the planning process, Allen was knowledgable, helpful, and flexible. He made all requested adjustments with ease and helped to create a catering plan that truly felt like us. On our wedding day, Allen's staff were incredibly helpful, courteous, attentive, and professional. Many guests commented on both how tasty the food was and how attentive the staff were. We are SO pleased with Smoke Shack BBQ and would book them again in a heartbeat.

  Amazing Caterer!

  Allen's team did an amazing job on our wedding day! We got a lot of compliments on the food and a lot of compliments on his catering staff. Everyone was extremely kind and nice and everything went very smoothly. The food was delicious and the bartenders did a great job as well. I would definitely recommend Smoke Shack to anyone getting married looking for a caterer!

  Great Team!

  Smoke Shack BBQ catered our wedding in Boulder. The food was delicious, the staff was incredibly polite, and they executed their day of services flawlessly. We got many compliments from our guests on the food and the bartenders were very entertaining. When my wife and I went to get food at the buffet, the Smoke Shack BBQ staff congratulated us on our big day. Our friends were also more than happy to help us finish the leftovers the next day.

  Amazing! Smoke Shack was incredible!

  We used Smoke Shack for our wedding and have nothing by great things to say about them. The food was SO good, I still have guests commenting on how tasty it was. Allen and his team are professional and helpful. Our day ran smoothly in large part thanks to their experience and professionalism. We didn’t have to worry about anything at all. Highly highly recommend!

  Fantastic Caterer!!

  Smoke Shack was incredible for our wedding!! Honestly, my husband and I were not as focused on our food as some of our other major investments for the day (DJ / alcohol) - even though this was by far the most costly. However, that being said, I am so, so happy with their service, pricing, and quality! Allen was responsive and incredibly helpful answering questions as we began looking for our caterer. After setting up a tasting and trying his amazing options, we decided to commit. During our tasting, I came with about 30+ questions - many of which were already answered in his contract that I had already signed. Make sure you read it, as it is VERY informative! Even though it was repetitive, Allen was very patient and answered all of them. His assistant was helpful as well (D'Lina), as she also attended the tasting. Needless to say, after that we were pumped for the food! In the 7-8 months leading up to the wedding after we confirmed SSB, Allen was a wonderful consultant to what I may need outside of what his company provided (rentals, bartending - if you decide to go outside of his company, etc.). When it came to cost, SSB is quite reasonable (in terms of the wedding industry - eye roll) for the quality and quantity received. D'Lina, who attended the walk through a month before, was incredibly informative and helpful as we talked through the location and layout at the venue. She was thorough and wrote me a recap email right away on what we had discussed! On the actual day of the wedding, obviously I was consumed in getting ready for everything, but I never heard once from the caterer on questions or needs. They helped setup everything for dining, they were incredible during dinner time - the buffet line moved quickly, their staff walked around with drinks and quickly cleared tables. Everything was awesome! They were especially attentive to me and my husband throughout the evening - asking if we needed more of anything and doing their best to make us feel calm about the event. We took home the leftovers and have been sharing them with our local friends (there wasn't a ton - they did a great job on estimating the amount!), and everyone has said "that was really incredible food - especially the mac and cheese". Highly recommend SSB - almost every single thing they offer is gluten-free, which is phenomenal. SSB is the perfect catering company if you're looking for barbecue! Big shout out to Allen and D'Lina!! Thanks again!

  Allen and his team at Smoke Shack BBQ were all around excellent - they really know the business of good food and good catering service. We are grateful to have had them cater our wedding reception of 200 guests. The pig and all the sides were delicious, and it’s so unique to have a whole roast pig at your wedding - we had several compliments from our guests. Besides the food, Allen’s service staff were outstanding - they were spot on and very attentive to our guests and to the bride and groom in particular. They served appetizers and dinner food, tended to guest dinner tables and the bar, and served cake - all went smoothly. Working with Allen and his team over the several months leading up to our wedding was a great experience and it made for a smooth and enjoyable operation on our wedding day. Food is so important at a wedding - you cannot go wrong if you hire Smoke Shack BBQ!

  First and foremost, can we get a round of applause for Allen and the Smoke Shack BBQ staff?
  
  I booked Smoke Shack BBQ for my wedding. I had a lot of ideas and needed a lot of different quotes for my "what if" scenarios. Each option/idea, Allen was more than happy to send a new quote so I could best decide what worked for the wedding.
  
  From the beginning, all of the timelines and fees were pretty clear and the payment schedule definitely helped space the payments out.
  
  Heck, I changed the menu on him 3 weeks before the big day and he was patient and kind for it.
  
  On the actual day of the wedding, I was busy getting myself and the venue ready for the wedding. The staff showed up, got to work, and worked like a well-oiled machine. I saw them having a team meeting and all of them were intently listening to the captain, fully onboard and ready to get the job done.
  
  I can't make this up: THE FOOD UPSTAGED THE WEDDING. Which I'm totally okay with, obviously. I think every single guest made it a point to come and tell me how delicious the food was before adding in, "oh, and congrats on the marriage thing". I heard SO many compliments about the pulled pork, brisket, coleslaw/salad, and potatoes.
  
  When dinner first started, the staff made sure to have a plate fully ready for both me and my husband so that we were guaranteed a chance to eat - it was so dang sweet of them. I also had a single vegetarian in the group, and they made sure to save her a plate of the vegetarian option to guarantee she had something to eat in case other people accidentally took too much of it.
  
  I don't have a single negative thing to say about this vendor :)

  Smoke Shack BBQ delivered an event that was even better than we imagined. Allen was very responsive every step of the way, from the first day we contacted him to the day of our wedding. We were very impressed at the tasting and on our wedding day, all of the food items did not disappoint – everything was delicious!! We received, and are still getting, so many compliments on the food. Allen and his staff were flexible throughout the day of our wedding and worked through the threat of rain with high winds and then it ended up being sunny. I can’t help but think that only a seasoned professional would know what to do in the event of any crazy kind of weather. He and his staff seemed to have a contingency plan for everything. I felt like I was in good hands and I didn’t have to spend a minute worrying about the reception. That kind of peace of mind on your wedding day is priceless. I would highly recommend them for their food, the service, their experience and the great communication.

  I have to say, this is absolutely one of the best experiences I have had dealing with Allen and his team. They showed up on time and were so responsive to our needs I can't say enough.   Smoke Shack BBQ is the best. I had a great experience with my daughters wedding. The BBQ ribs were succulent and the BBQ chicken was juicy along with the delicious sides. The staff was very attentive and listened to my recommendations which took alot of stress away from me. I got a lot of compliments on the dinner and the service. I will definitely use Smoke Shack BBQ agian.

  What can we say? We hired Smoke Shack for our 9/9/17 wedding and they were stellar. The team is professional, excellent at what they do (please do your self a favor and just order the brisket,) and to top it all off, they are a BLAST. Seriously, we had so much fun with Allen and team from the very start! We had a sauce-off at the wedding where guests voted for their favorite BBQ sauce, because I am from NC and I really wanted to use my favorite BBQ sauces from home, and Allen totally went with it. Fun Fun Fun. Their bartenders were just professional and personable too. We would hire them again for any big party we throw in an instant! They work really well with the Stone Mountain Lodge, by the way - you can tell both companies are friends which makes for a great vibe all around.

  The service throughout my entire year of planning was impeccable!! Alan and Mary and staff were always available to answer my questions and put up with my changes! :)
  On the big day, the staff was on-time, friendly, clean, prompt and wonderful. All of my guests commented on how delicious the food was and many went back for secondS!! The banquet captain, server, and bartender were all so lovely and got along with all my guests and really contributed to our amazing day. It was so fun to have a glass of champagne handed to me and my new husband after the ceremony, and we loved that they prepared a plate of food for us first and had it ready at the table as soon as we sat down because otherwise we would not have gotten to eat!!

  The service throughout my entire year of planning was impeccable!! Alan and Mary and staff were always available to answer my questions and put up with my changes! :)
  On the big day, the staff was on-time, friendly, clean, prompt and wonderful. All of my guests commented on how delicious the food was and many went back for secondS!! The banquet captain, server, and bartender were all so lovely and got along with all my guests and really contributed to our amazing day. It was so fun to have a glass of champagne handed to me and my new husband after the ceremony, and we loved that they prepared a plate of food for us first and had it ready at the table as soon as we sat down because otherwise we would not have gotten to eat!!
  We look forward to being able to work with Smoke Shack again!!! Deeeeeelicious BBQ Sauce!!!! :)

  We could absolutely not be more pleased with having Smoke Shack cater our wedding! Alan was totally responsive and so fun and easy to work with to create the perfect menu for our outdoor picnic style dinner, while Mary, our event coordinator, thought of absolutely everything on the day of the wedding! She had drinks waiting for us after the ceremony and on our dinner table, thought of creating an order for tables to be called up to the buffet to decrease the risk of long lines, and even packaged up a little plate of desserts for us to be waiting in our suite after the wedding! Also, not to mention that the food was AMAZING! Cannot recommend these guys more highly! Thank you so much!

  These guys are truly amazing! Not only did they provide the most wonderful food, but their willingness to help with anything and their kindness surpasses them all. They were the most amazing people to have help serve our guest and made our reception into a wonderful evening. The food is by far some of the greatest BBQ we have had around! I would recommend them to anyone and can't wait for another event to use them.

However, awesome food aside, we were quite disappointed with their communication and staying on schedule the day of our wedding. Alan also tacked on another hour for Mary's crew, just in case, he said we probably wouldn't need them that long but he'd rather end up writing us a check than sending us a bill for more time. Don't get me wrong, if the catering had been cheap then yeah I could see a lag in communication and some hiccups the day of but for the price we paid, I expected better service overall. Mary and her girls were kind and courteous, they did an excellent job helping out at the reception. At our request, they did leave earlier than planned, once the food and tables had been cleaned up but we never got any refund for the additional time.
  
  My only real complaint is that shortly before our wedding ceremony, while we were finishing getting dressed, we received a call from Mary who was trying to get access to the venue an hour before the agreed upon time. We had finalized the schedule with Alan and given him the venue's contact info weeks before so I am still unsure what the problem was the day of and we were never given an explanation. Dinner was delicious but served an hour late, without apologies, which annoyed our guests because the delicious looking hog which was sitting in front of them while they waited for the rest. Despite the lateness of dinner, it was a great night with plenty of great food and everyone went home stuffed and happy.

  Staring off, Smoke Shack seemed like a great option- reasonably priced and flexible to help us meet the requirements of our venue. All was well until weeks before our wedding when Allen tack on added fees, refused to compromise and left me in tears time and time again. One week before our wedding Allen sent me the final invoice- with over $700 in added fees!!!! Allen then demanded payment within 4 days or else he would tack on a 10% late fee to the total invoice! There was no conversation prior to the final invoice regarding any changes, let alone $700 worth of changes!
  On the day of, the food was decent, the chicken was very dry but otherwise fine. The bar staff however, was constantly causing problems on our big day! We had two cocktails, which were not mixed correctly, and they decided on their own to only serve them for one hour. This was also never discussed, and there was plenty of alcohol left! The bar staff also tried to stop serving alcohol 1.5 hours early for no apparent reason, and this situation had to be handled by the venue staff.
  
  During the planning process, Allen was very slow to respond. All phone conversations with Allen literally left me in tears as Allen was incredibly rude and had no sense of customer service. Allen tried to take advantage of me time and time again. I would not recommend Smoke Shack to any bride- you will lose money and your sanity!

  I’m surprised to hear your experience with Smoke Shack was not positive. From all accounts, it was a beautiful wedding and it went very smoothly. Your guests gushed at what a great wedding it was and how wonderful the food and service was. We work hard to accommodate our clients catering needs while offering affordable prices and professional service at our events. In addition to clearly laying out our process, scheduled due dates for finalizing details and payments in our agreements we make ourselves available 7 days a week to our clients. Every couple received confirmation of the most up to date details during your 1.5 hr. walk through meeting one month before your wedding. I believe it would have been beneficial to both of us if you took the time read the information we provided to you to avoid this confusion. I’m curious why, if you had such important issue as you describe with how your wedding was being managed, did you not bring it to the attention of your onsite two event managers and five support staff? I was there personally and it seemed everyone was having a great time and the plan was being executed perfectly. I can offer that it was your parents who insisted that hard liquor be served the first hour only and the venue closed your bar because of some of your guest’s behavior, not us. You have my full attention and I would love the opportunity help you feel better about your experience by offering a refund and my sincere apologies. I’m also happy to explain the changes you requested and associated charges. I also have our email correspondence that I can share with you in hopes of shedding some light on the confusion. I’ll do everything I can to correct this for you. I’ve been catering weddings for 30 years and understand that it can be a stressful time for you so, let me help, I’m sure we can resolve some of the issues.
