Amazing desserts and service!

We got married in June 2025 and are so happy we chose Skiff’s Cakes for our cake and dessert table.
The cake was absolutely beautiful and looked better than we imagined when describing it! It also tasted incredible! We got the banana chocolate on one tier and the white cake with strawberry cream for the other tier, and they were delicious and moist! We got a ton of compliments, and know some of our guests were following servers around trying to get more! And the mini desserts were so good! We got a larger package than we needed and have been enjoying our leftovers! We definitely want to go back for their desserts whenever we have a sweets craving!

They were also so easy to work with, and we really appreciated that the cake and filling options were deconstructed during our tasting so we could try different combinations.

Best bakery in town!

We wanted a very minimalist wedding cake to cut just for photos, and Skiff's was amazing! Beforehand, we picked up a cake tasting box from them which included samples of all the possible cake, filling, and frosting flavors. The ordering process was easy- We sat down with an employee, described the size we wanted, number of tiers, flavors, and emailed an inspiration photo for the design. The bakery quickly got back to us on final pricing based on the design. The pricing was reasonable and they delivered to the venue as well. About a week before the wedding, they called to confirm final details. Skiff's is definitely the go-to bakery in the Simi Valley area for special cakes for any occasion. Highly recommend this local business!

The best!

I have been to this bakery MANY times and they have the best variety for any occasion! I was lucky enough to have them make my wedding cake and cupcakes which were AMAZING and absolutely beautiful! 100% recommended this amazing family business!

To die for!!!

We had SO many compliments on our cake and desert bar that it was hard to keep up!
Skiffs was so easy to work with, especially during this COVID craziness.. they actually allowed us to do 2 cake tastings because so much time had passed and we weren’t confident in our previous decision (6 months prior).
10/10 recommend! We cannot wait to come back every year for an anniversary cake!

Delicious and Pretty!

Not going to lie, Skiff's sold us with their cake tasting. What a great way to show off what you can do. We got to try their various cake flavors with a mix of creams, fillings and frostings.

Like most people, we love cake, but we're by no means cake experts, so being able to see and taste many of the options real time was amazing!

Steve was very flexible and told us to show him some cake styles we liked. We did, and our cake ended up looking gorgeous with a fun flair we gave him beforehand to add on top :). He also gave us very realistic estimates for how much dessert we would need for the number of guests we had, working within our budget while still assuring every sweet tooth was satisfied!

Because Skiff's Cakes has been working with all the venues in the area for decades, they know exactly how to make everything run smoothly on the day of, without us having to worry about anything.

Best wedding cake & desserts!

I'm so glad I found Skiff's cakes for my wedding - they did an incredible job! The cakes and desserts are both absolutely delicious and gorgeously presented. I ordered a 3-tier wedding cake (Steve artfully arranged roses on it and it looked wonderfully romantic) as well as a variety of mini-desserts, and our guests were raving about how delicious it all was. Everyone at Skiff's was so helpful and personal with their service, and I'll be visiting again just to eat their desserts :)

Best cake I have ever tasted! They were spot on with our desserts and our wedding cake. Everything was fresh and delicious! Our guests even took some home they were so good!

Skiff's is the absolute best! I can't emphasize enough how incredibly delicious both their cake and other desserts are! Our wedding cake had a lace design that turned out beautiful. It was lemon with lemon filling, and it was super moist and delicious. We also got desserts for our dessert bar from them. We got mini red velvet cupcakes, mini churro cupcakes, mini Bailey's Irish Cream cupcakes, chocolate éclairs, mini apple streusels, mint brownies, blonde brownies, and lemon bars. Perhaps it was overkill, but their desserts are just that good! We tried out other vendors, and I just didn't feel the quality lived up to what Skiffs was able to offer. On top of that, they are super friendly and easy to work with and very reasonably priced (they were one of only 2 vendors that ended up under budget for us!). Just book them; you won't regret it!

Skiffs is the best. period. I was blown away when I saw our wedding cake in person and it tasted even better than it looked! We also had sheets of brownies from them as well. I am not personally a huge sweets person and I dream about our cake. The staff is so amazing to work with and professional. Look no further if you're questioning going with skiffs or someone else. No one can beat Skiff's. I will be a life long customer!

My husband and I used Skiff's for our wedding in July. From the start, it was clear Skiff's was the best. The tastings were great and Steve was pleasure to work with. We decided to go for cupcakes and a cutting cake and they took our half ideas and made the most amazing purple dyed cutting cake. Skiffs even delivered to our venue and set everything up for us and the cost is very reasonable. Thank you Skiffs!

Skiffs was wonderful!! The price was just right and the cake was so beautiful and delicious! I wanted "pearls" and "flowers" and she brought them to life exactly how I imagined them and within my budget! They delivered my cake to the venue for us and I never even saw them come in or leave. This bakery was a lonnnng drive for us - but we are so glad that we found it and made the trip!! We knew that our wedding cake was going to be one of the areas where we had to save money, and Skiff's had very reasonable prices. However, we weren't expecting it to be the most cost effective option AND our favorite cake that we tried, too!! Seriously, for the price you can't do much better. I especially appreciated that, during the tasting, they give you a plate of 7 kinds of cake, next to 10 different piles of frosting, so you could mix and match and see which flavor combinations you like best. No other bakery that we'd been to did that! We ended up going with a yellow cake with chocolate frosting (yes... a chocolate frosted wedding cake! It was just the best frosting, period), as well as providing an assortment of cupcakes.

Skiff's was also able to accommodate our design wishes perfectly - we had a 'Legend of Zelda' themed cake table, with the Hyrulean symbol in fondant on one of the cake tiers, and 8-bit hearts and triforces topping the cupcakes. It looked better than we could've even envisioned! Thank you Skiff's for the amazing wedding cake - it was one of the hits of the evening!!

We used Skiff's for our wedding cake after it was recommended to us by multiple people, and we were thrilled with their product! Our cake tasting was delicious and fun, and the owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Our cake looked beautiful, and tasted even better! I wish I had gotten to eat more of it at my wedding, and can't wait for my one year anniversary to devour the top layer!

Skiff's made the cake for our August 2015 wedding. We ordered a white cake with raspberry and lemon chiffon filling and vanilla buttercream frosting. It was--hands down--the BEST wedding cake ever! Steve and Wendy were a joy to work with, and their cake was simply perfection. It looked great, held up on a very hot day at an outdoor venue, and tasted like love. Thank you, Skiff's Cakes!

Skiff's Cakes is amazing! Steve & Wendy (his wife) are the owners & they personally work with you to give you exactly what you want. Even when the bakery was super busy they took time to meet with us & talk about the details. When we went in for the tasting every single flavor was delectable. Wendy threw out some ideas for the cupcakes & our 2-tier wedding cake was absolutely gorgeous & delicious!!! The sugar flowers looked real! People were taking pictures of it cause it was stunning. The price was very reasonable & I'm guessing it's cause they're so friendly, they're not in a prime location, & they have a lot of business. On the downside I'm very very bummed we didn't get to take any wedding cake home :( We'll have to order the top tier for our first year anniversary!

Everyone just loved our wedding cake. From the presentation, and most importantly, the delicious taste of the cake.
We were recommended to Skiff's by Tracy Shaughnessy (Best Western Posada Royale Hotel & Suites in Simi Valley). I'm new in the area; and my husband lives in Thousand Oaks. For cake tasting, we met Steve & his wife, lovely couple, and tried the different varieties of icing, filling, cakes...Steve left us alone to try everything, and decide on our own. We were never pressured nor rushed to decide on our cake. Trust us, go to Skiff's for your cakes/desserts needs. You will never regret it.

My husband and I were lucky to find Skiff's Cakes in Simi Valley! Steve was a delight to work with! He's friendly, knowledgeable, and will work with you to accommodate your needs to give you the cake you've always imagined! During the cake tasting (which by the way the all the cakes were so DELICIOUS) Steve took his time with us and didn't rush us, even though the bakery was starting to get real busy. He listened to what we wanted, gave us some advice and recommendations on what cake worked with which flavor, but let us take the reigns on what we wanted him to create for our special day. I came into the bakery with an image of a cake I wanted, but seeing all the other cakes they've created, I actually chose a cake design they already made for another couple! It was so beautiful and everything I wanted that they were able to replicate it for us and make it our own. The cake was BEAUTIFUL and tasted AMAZING!! All our friends and family LOVED it and couldn't stop talking about it. They even wanted to take the little quantity of leftovers home. We LOVED it so much, that we will be having them replicate our cake as a single tier for our one year anniversary. Steve, your cake was FANTASTIC and we THANK YOU so much for your great work! Skiffs Cakes in Simi Valley are AMAZING!. I am very picky when it comes to cakes since I am not a sweet's person so for my wedding i had to have a perfect cake and they nailed it. It was so moist and flavorful and absolutely stunning. They are very talented and so easy to work with. My experience was very enjoyable.

I do like frosting...he loves it..but even more important than that - we BOTH HATE FONDANT....so when we found this beautiful bakery that specialized in buttercream cakes (his favorite of all frostings) it was love at first taste. The true test though? My Maid of Honor pretty much hates all cake, the density, weight and at times over sweetness. We took her to the cake tasting since we felt that she would make a good cake judge esp. since hubbie and I can (and will) eat anything and everything. The verdict? SHE NOW LOVES CAKE. Well, Skiff's at least. All the flavors are ON POINT! But for a wedding, I honestly think their champagne icing is A MUST. There is nothing quite like it. They fulfilled our wedding cake dreams. We did a 3 tier, 3 flavored cake...soooo delicious...once people had their first slice and found out there were more flavors, they started asking for more. The decorations were EXACTLY to our specifications and they collab-ed so perfectly with our florist for a fresh, natural and rustic look. I went into the shop about 2 different times to talk cake and drop off some decor (i.e., a topper I specially ordered) and each time I HAD to cheat on my bride diet and snag some goodies. Honestly one of the best dessert spots. I don't like cupcakes but I can eat like 5 of theirs...well more like devour/inhale. Their flavors are so wonderful. The staff are sweet. It's family owned and that love will show in the design, fine work and amazing flavor.

Our cake was not only beautiful but it was DELICIOUS!! We ordered the yellow cake with cream cheese filling and butter cream frosting and our guests could not get over how tasty it was. Steve and his wife are great. I will definitely be ordering more cakes from them in the future.

We order coconut cream with vanilla butter cream for our wedding. It was DELICIOUS!! We lived far away and was not able to test out the cakes for ourselves, but Wendy was really helpful and got us squared away. Definitely recommend Skiff's Cakes!!

While I only had the smallest of bites of our wedding cake, I received serval calls after the wedding asking where I got that delicious cake from!
We chose the white cake with champagne filling and strawberry puree with white buttercream frosting.
It was a beautiful and simple design. Steve was such a pleasure to work with and eager to make sure I had the exact cake I wanted. They delivered to the site as late as possible since we got married on a hot day and it was all outdoors. I truly appreciated him going past working hours so we wouldn't have a sweaty melting cake!

For our wedding we got a small two tiered cake and 6 dozen cupcakes. We had a variety of flavors and a very simply buttercream frosting.

From the first meeting I just fell in love with this little bakery and the owners. They were so nice and worked with us, took our pictures, ideas and budget and make it work to be exactly what we wanted. We payed an additional set up fee which I must say was worth every penny.

Our cake and cupcake display was breathtaking - they did an amazing job with the set up - and after we cut the cake everyone was floored by how delicious all the cake and cupcakes were.

Our goal from the beginning was flavor over design and Skiff's gave us the best of both!

I found this local bakery through my venue the vineyards. I had been looking for months and it was not going well. I wanted to use a local bakery and I had a lot if options , but skiff's was my first stop. As soon as you walk in , the representative immediately approaches you to see how you are doing. I inquired about a wedding cake consultation and didn't know I needed an appointment. No worries, they had no problem fitting me in and were very flexible. We met with Steve who brought a delicious box with cakes, fillings, and icing. He showed us some work they have done and we showed him the direction we wanted. My husband is a huge Spider-Man fan and wanted to incorporate a mini Spider-Man on the side of the cake. Steve was open and stated that the decorator could go more into details. Our price range was $800-$1000. On my final consultation I got to meet the decorator and she was amazing, she understood what we wanted and sketched out our cake for us. Well the day of the wedding the cake arrived on time and it was gorgeous. It exceeded any idea or picture we had of our cake. The mini Spider-Man was just the right size and looked perfect with the cake. We also, used skiff's for our rehearsal dinner cake and it was delicious!! They're flexibility to help couples is just great. The cake was moist and delicious, can't wait to eat my 1 year anniversary cake!! Thank you, thank you

Skiff's Cakes was the best cake I have eaten yet! My fiancé and I were very picky about our wedding cake, and when it was delivered and time to cut the cake I was so excited to eat it! Not only did it meet my expectations visually but it went beyond what I expected for taste. It was so delicious! We got so many comments from our friends and family about how great the cake was. Everything about working with this vendor was so easy and pleasant. We are "dessert people," so having a delicious and beautiful cake was important to us. We booked a tasting about 6-7 months prior to our wedding date. When we arrived Steve had about 7 different cake samples, as well as a bunch of different icings, fondants, fillings, etc. We were able to mix and match the selections ourselves and came up with the exact cake we wanted. I had an idea of the design of the cake, but I wasn't completely certain. After going through their pictures/portfolio, we came up with the perfect design. After going to 3 other cake tastings, we knew then and there that this was the one. Working with Steve and his staff was so easy. The day of the wedding went perfectly. It was delivered when promised and looked and tasted exactly as we had selected. All our guests raved about how delicious the cake was. We were so happy we made the right choice when it came to our cake vendor.

My cousins used Skiff's Cake for her wedding and all she could say were great things about them. It holds true. The owner Steven met with us months before to taste the different kind of cakes and fillings...everything is VERY tasty! Skiff's cakes is just amazing. Steve is so friendly and helpful as you taste all of the awesome flavors. The cake is moist, yummy, and flavorful. I ate way more cake than a bride has any business doing, but it was worth every bite. We got so many compliments on it, too. My mother-in-law is quite the baker herself, and she raved about the cake...even though she is often hard to impress when it comes to baked goods! My dad, who hardly eats sweets, was extremely impressed and certainly devoured his fair share.

The cake looked beautiful, too. Steve informed us that they transport it with the utmost care, rigged right into their refrigerated van, and it showed. Not a single blemish on it! I've been at weddings where the cake melts or deflates slightly, but not this one...it stayed fresh all night long. Just perfect!

All I have to say about Skiff's is that the cake tasted amazing and I go there all the time to buy cupcakes. The cake for the wedding served about 180 people and was very inexpensive for a wedding cake, especially since we had some intricate details added to it. I also bought the same cake from the wedding for my wife's birthday next week, it tasted that amazing.

Skiff's rules!

I dont have much to compare them to since I've never bought a cake from a baker before, but Skiff's was terrific the whole way through. The biggest thing I can say about them is that they are one of the only places that still offers regular iced cakes, instead of the fondant, which we didn't want. They can practically do anything with icing, too.

We choose a fairly basic style of 3 round tiers with a sort of stucco icing design, but the cool part was that they did an ombre effect on it, which my husband LOVED.

The price was pretty average for what I was finding, but it was the easiest part of the wedding! They delivered it on time, with no issues, and it was SOOOOOOO GOOD!! Their cakes are absolutely amazing and ours was no different.

I absolutely loved my wedding cake from Skiff's!! They had the exact design I had wanted and the cake was FABULOUS!! My husband loved their red velvet, and I got to get the white cake with rasberry filling!!

We were able to save the top layer (which my mom wrapped all up for us and put in the freezer) so hopefully it will be just as good, lol!! If not, they said they would recreate our top layer for us for our 1 year anniversary! We may do both, but I'm sure it'll still be awesome!

When I got engaged, before I knew ANYTHING about my wedding, I already knew that we were going to have a Skiff's cake at the reception! They make the best cakes around!! They have a great selection of flavors to choose from and the decorating is top notch. I brought my ideas to the table and they did a fantastic job of bringing it to life. All of my guests loved the cake - there weren't any left overs except for the top tier which is happily sitting in my freezer until January 5, 2014 :)

They were also able to match the cake colors to our wedding colors perfectly, all they needed was a small color sample. The cakes tasted batter then any cake I had had before. My aunt referred me over to Skiff's for my wedding cake because she used them for her wedding and loved them. My fiance and I went out to have a taste test and we never wanted to leave. Everything was so good! It was so hard to choose. They even let us take home the extra cake and fillers so we can have other people taste to help us or so we can just eat it later. We ended up choosing two different kinds. My fiance's (now husband's) favorite was the marble cake with cookies and cream filling while mine was a yellow cake with a champagne and raspberry filling. Both had buttercream frosting. The cake looked amazing on the wedding day. It was the most beautiful and tasty cake ever! All the guest loved it! Skiffs is amazing and the people working there are just as amazing. I highly recommend Skiff's. They are awesome!!

Skiff's Cakes is out-of-this-world AMAZING, in so many ways. We ordered our 4-tier, hexagonal wedding cake through Skiff's and it was one of the best wedding decisions we made.

First off, Steve and Wendy are both extremely knowledgeable and personable. Every time I met with them in person or spoke with them over the phone, they knew exactly what we were talking about. It is very obvious that they are both competent and passionate about their cakes.

In regards to the cake itself, it is the MOST DELICIOUS cake I have ever eaten. Out of all of the feedback we have received from guests that attended our wedding, the very first thing they said was how AMAZING the wedding cake was. Our caterer even commented to me that she was shocked that people were asking for seconds and third servings, which she has never seen happen before. More impressive is the fact that our cake (which Steve said feeds 150 people) was ALL GONE by the end of the evening, and we only had 116 wedding guests! The decoration on the cake was exquisite; beautifully and expertly done. What I found impressive is that the cake survived the 30+ mile drive to our venue, which included a 6-mile stretch of extremely curvy road (Steve attributes this to his one-of-a-kind delivery system, custom built in his delivery van).

Simply put, don't both with any other bakery . . . Skiff's is THE BEST, and WELL WORTH the very reasonable pricing.

We ordered a 3 tier cake for our wedding from Skiffs Cakes! So delicious! When we met with Steve, he helped us pick out the perfect cake for us. Skiffs was delightful to work with for our wedding! They have great tasting cakes and are very reasonably priced. They do not do too much work with fondant, so their cakes have a very classic look to them. I brought in some pictures of cakes that were made out of fondant and they created a very similar look by using just buttercream frosting. My Husband loves chocolate so imagine how much he loved our chocolate cake with chocolate fudge filling covered with a white butter cream frosting!! We worked with Steve, who was wonderful. The entire process was so easy and so quick, I kept thinking we must have missed something. On the day of the wedding Steve was there to deliver the cake, set up the cake topper and make sure everything was perfect for our day.

I highly recommend Skiff's cakes. When I called to make an appt. they were very flexible on days and times. I brought a picture that I had found in a magazine and fallen in love with. Steve explained that while they use buttercream instead of fondant, they could definitely duplicate the look of the cake. The cake itself was delicious ... I had originally thought that we were going to pick something like chocolate or red velvet, but our forks kept going back to the white cake with fudge buttercream filling. As a side note, my friends ordered a cake for my bridal shower from Skiff's, without knowing that that was where the wedding cake was from and picked the red velvet, which was definitely my second choice. I have to say on the day of the wedding, they did not disappoint. The cake was beautiful and just like the picture! And even though we had over ordered on the cake in order to comfortably save the top layer - every bit of the other layers were eaten. In the end we didn't end up saving the top layer, it was way too tempting sitting in the fridge the next day. Even my mother, who is very traditional, got out her fork when we opened the cake box. I found the price to be very reasonable incomparison with other vendors I had looked at and they definitely delivered what they had committed to. We look forward to ordering a cake next year with them to celebrate our first anniversary!

Skiffs did a wonderful job on my wedding cake. I was amazed by the work they did on the outside-it was so pretty!! Super yummy!!!!! When we went there to try the cakes, the man who helped us was really great, informative, friendly, and patient. The cakes themselves were the best cakes we tried and surprisingly the least expensive. We were able to get a gorgeous cake for a super reasonable price. Above that, they followed through and showed up on time at the wedding with the cake looking fabulous. Not to mention it tasted ridiculously yummy!!! Skiff's was recommended to me by several people who live nearby so I am grateful and compelled to pass it on. Even though we live in Santa Monica, we didn't mind making the trip to Simi Valley one bit. It's so worth it! Plus, if it's your wedding cake they deliver.

It truly is the most delicious cake I have ever tasted! My husband and I got married last month and I must say that the cake tasting was definitely the highlight of wedding planning. We tried this place and that place but when we went to Skiff's, that was it. The cakes are a perfect consistency, light but flavorful, moist but not heavy, just heaven! The fillings are amazing! I highly recommend the rasperry, bavarian cream and lemon chiffon. Don't even start me on the red velvet with cream cheese, it's a taste sensation! And the people at Skiff's, they were so warm and friendly. You really just get a good feeling from them and are happy to support such a quality local business.

Our wedding cake looked as good as it tasted. It was beautiful. They really listen to what you want and make it happen. I really couldn't have asked for anything better. Our wedding guests raved about how delectable the cake was. I'm not kidding, it really was that good. My husband and I joke that we want to have another wedding or special event just so we can get another Skiff's cake. We actually froze our top layer to eat at our one year anniversary but we'll see if it makes it that long.

I found Skiff's Cakes through a friend as they did not show up on most Los Angeles bridal lists. They by far had the most delicious cakes to taste and were very affordable. We really wanted champagne cake, which not many bakeries carry, but they had the absolute best. We went home from our wedding with some leftover cake and I cannot tell you how enjoyable it was to eat it when we got home and for breakfast the next morning. I will go back there for our first anniversary to get a small cake to celebrate for sure!

YUM! My wedding cake tasted and looked exactly how I wanted! Out of all the Ventura County bakeries, Skiff's had the best prices for the flavors/look we designed and it arrived on time on the big day. Our guests raved it was the best cake they ever had! No regrets at all and worth every calorie! :)

Amazing cake! We got so many compliments on the look AND taste of our wedding cake! My husband and I really enjoyed the cake tasting beforehand and played around with the different combinations. I would highly reccoment skiffs for any occasion!

Yummy, yummy, yummy!!!! This is hands down the best cake that I have ever had. Even my husband, who hates cake, loved this! They have many flavors to choose from. It was hard to decide what to choose!

The cake was absolutely delicious! The price was reasonable and they were very professional. We didn't have to worry about a thing. They worked with my florist to get the cake decorated the day of the wedding and everything was exactly as we wanted it to be.

The staff at Skiff's Cakes is extremely nice, sincere and attentive to all your needs. The cake was delicious. Everyone at the wedding was talking about how moist the cake was and how delicious the fillings were.

Skiff's is awesome. It was incredibly convenient to have our wedding cake maker in Simi as the reception was in Camarillo. I believe the beautiful cake we received would have cost at least twice as much in a Los Angeles bakery. We chose their white cake with chocolate and raspberry filling, it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended! You get more than what you pay for!

The best wedding cake we have ever had! After enjoying a piece of wedding cake at a friend's wedding, we just had to know the baker. Skiff's Cakes is now being used to create the wedding cakes of 3 couples who attended OUR wedding. It is a phenomenal cake. Great recipe, rich, fresh, and moist... They make all the cakes fondant smooth WITHOUT the use of fondant. The best cake ever, and a great business to work with. The cake was delivered promptly, safely, and ready-to-go.

I found a picture of a cake that I liked but there were a few things I wanted to change. I sent Steve the picture and we discussed how to modify it. The cake turned out beautifully. Steve and his wife perfectly dupliated the intricate flower design that I loved and made the changes that I wanted. They were great to work with and I'd definitely recommend them.

The cake here is moist and tasty. They delivered on everything we requested & they have a super cute tree design cake. The only thing I wasn't super fond of was the red velvet cake. We ordered 4 different flavors of cakes, I LOVE red velvet but unfortunately I wasn't fond of it, too much frosting. Other than that all the other flavors were great and everyone enjoyed the cake. We barely had any left.

We loved our wedding cake! The design I chose from their book was gorgeus and it looked just like it on our wedding day! BEAUTIFUL!

It was delicious too and everyone enjoyed it.

Whatever sweets you need you can get from Skiffs!

Skiffs cakes are fantastic, but their dessert table is really where it is at! There were a variety of desserts from cream puffs to cheese cake bites, to brownies, lemon bars, and fruit bars! Each were amazing and I would totally ask them to cater any party I throw in the future!

Our red velvet wedding cake was amazing! Everyone loved it and it looked so pretty. We went in for our consultation and were so impressed that we ordered our cake right there. They were so helpful and nice. We will always get our cakes from Skiff's now.

Skiff's was great. Although our wedding was in Studio City, they still delivered the cake from Simi Valley, no problem. Cake was delicious, staff was very friendly, helpful, and VERY flexible. They gave us great advice and were really helpful in the whole process.

I loved that they had some non-traditional designs to show us (soo not a white-on-white bride, though they do have beautiful cakes for those types of brides too). We picked out one at first, then came across another picture online that they were able to mimic. They even let us choose colors from one of those pantone color guides, to try to get the colors as close as possible to what we wanted on the cake. We took a risk with the colors and while were 97% happy with the way the colors came out (which I am sure is our fault and not theirs). The only thing I was a little unhappy with was where the flowers were placed on the cake. I had asked that one dahlia (from the florist) be placed on the side of one of the tiers, but when I looked at the cake all of them were on top. No big deal, though, my day-of-coordinator was able to fix it.

Cake was good, but unfortunately we didn't get a slice of the flavors we wanted (they were all passed out to the guests prior to ours), so I am planning on going back to make sure I get some yummy spice cake and that my husband can get his chocolate with raspberries!

Let me preface this by saying I grew up in a household where my mom was a caterer and had her own cake business. I was spoiled and am fairly picky with my cakes.

We ordered our cake from Skiff's and I must say I was pretty happy with the end result. The cake tasted even better than it did at our tasting. We got the yellow cake, and one tier had it with fudge filling + strawberry puree, one had yellow cake with bavarian cream and strawberry puree, and we had one with chocolate cake and champagne filling. All were delicious. The buttercream frosting is good and not too overwhelming. The design was pretty and what we had requested. I would recommend Skiff's to my friends looking for a cake for any occasion.
