Shelby is your girl. Our wedding day was better than I could have ever imagined. She made the picture in my head literally come to life. Her “just SHOW UP to your wedding” package immediately caught my eye. And it was worth EVERY penny. I was able to truly enjoy and take in the day without sweating the small stuff. Her husband, Charlie, was our videographer and they were the perfect team for capturing our day. I am an **~anxious girlie~** who does not feel confident in front of the camera or enjoy being the center of attention but they both made the experience comfortable, relaxed, and fun. I received so many compliments on the design, flowers, and vibes. It was so so beautiful and I will be forever grateful for how special they made this day for my husband and I. I would recommend Shelby a million times over. -

Working with Simply Classic Events was an absolute pleasure! From start to finish, their team was not only professional but also incredibly fun and energetic, making the entire wedding day a breeze for everyone involved. I’ve never been to a wedding where a planning team received so many compliments—bride, bridal party, and family members all had wonderful things to say about them, even during the toasts and ceremony! Their involvement and genuine care for the couple’s big day made our job as a DJ company so much easier. We can't wait to collaborate with them again in the future! -

Where do I begin? My daughters wedding was perfect. I think I’m a perfectionist and am very hands on with events, well, I have to say that I was at ease with Shelby and her team! She executed my thoughts and my daughters vision before we even thought to say anything.
I would highly recommend them!
They are on point! They made our dreams come true! They made everything very easy. And to boot, I was just a little star struck with Shelby and how amazing her and her team were! -

As someone who considers herself very organized and detail oriented, I still had no idea where to start with planning a destination wedding. After interviewing various wedding planners for my Cancun, Mexico wedding and not feeling a connection or inspired by any of them - when I spoke with Shelby I just knew she understood my vision. We contracted Shelby for full wedding planning services and the 1.5 years that we worked together were flawless! She is personable, creative, and extends herself to be available to her brides for every question, comment, concern or random thought that you have any day or time. The communication was flawless and effortless and she has the unique ability to make you feel like you are the only person in the room.
We met Shelby and Charlie when we traveled to Mexico for our food tasting/venue walkthrough about 1 year prior to our wedding. I already felt like I knew her based on the amount of calls/video chats/texts we had exchanged leading up to the initial meeting. She was equally as wonderful in person and the ideas and input she provided as we did our venue walkthrough were spot on and very appreciated!
The months leading up to the wedding were great, and as a bride I never felt stressed or overwhelmed because I knew I had the best team backing me. Shelby facilitated every interaction, kept contracts/payments organized, put together the best team & brought in the best vendors to support us on our special day.
Now for the wedding: As if the interactions, communication and unique ideas weren't enough, her wedding day execution was also FLAWLESS. I knew everything would be beautiful because I had painted a picture in my mind of what the tables, flowers, dancefloor, lighting, etc. would look like, but what Shelby created was beyond my wildest dreams! Every detail was perfection, the food was great, the timing was spot on, and the entertainment was a show stopper! All of her ideas of what to add/what wasn't needed were exactly what we needed. Lastly, Shelby and her team also have the best way of anticipating and navigating guests and their needs. With 100 people traveling to Mexico for our wedding & our family/friends having larger than life personalities, Shelby quickly got to know the whos who of our family and treated everyone with the utmost kindness and respect, while being gentle regarding our unique family dynamics. I will forever appreciate that she was able to navigate the family personalities and cater to everyone's unique needs during wedding week - needless to say, EVERY guest had the best time and the memories we created will last a lifetime!
I could not have pulled off the wedding of a lifetime without her and her team. She was our BEST decision and we are lucky to have been a Simply Classic couple! The gratitude we feel in our hearts will never go away - if you are looking for THE BEST, look no further! -

My husband and I always knew we wanted a destination wedding in Mexico, but the how and execution part would always stress us out. From the heavens above coupled with lovely Instagram, we came across the Simply Classic IG page and set up a meeting with Shelby. After the very first consult meeting, we were sold and it was the best decision we made in this whole wedding planning process. Compared to other brides that I had chatted with, I was amazed with how little stress I had throughout the entire process and it’s all because I knew I had Shelby at every turn. She would be super honest about what was doable/practical and design worthy, which I really appreciated. The actual wedding week was no different. The most common piece of feedback we received from nearly all of our guests was how this was the most perfect and thoughtfully detailed wedding they had ever been to. When I say Shelby and Charlie are the dream team, I am not lying. I’m only sad because now I don’t have an excuse to talk to them every week. If you are looking for a sign to commit to working with Simply Classic Events, look no further. You will not be disappointed! -

Charlie and Shelby created the most spectacular wedding ever! Every detail from the welcome party to the wedding ceremony on the sand to the fabulous dinner and dance celebration was meticulously crafted! Sunset Wedding in Cozumel
We had the honor of seeing Simply Classic Events in action at a beautiful venue in Cozumel. The decor was immaculate and we had such an amazing time relaxing with Cocktails and watching the sunset. The event coordination was dialed in and there was not a single hiccup. All of the vendors were amazing and the food was fantastic. I truly hope the next wedding i go to is organized by Simply Classic Events they truly did do a stellar job. Five stars all the way around! -

Simply Easy
Using Simply Classic events for your wedding planning is the second easiest decisions you have to make besides saying “ I do”. Shelby has a wealth of knowledge and ideas from venues to the simplest touches that make your wedding day that much smoother and fun. The day of our wedding we had zero stress about everything behind the scenes because we knew it was in the meticulous hands of shelby. She is easy to work with as your planner and always has your best interest at heart: She gets sh*t done. -

The team who does it all
Where to begin?! Shelby and Charlie are incredible to work with. My now husband and I did a destination wedding in Mexico with 80 guests. While we have always loved planning parties, a wedding is a whole different game, especially in another country. Shelby and Charlie were there every single step of the way. Prior to the wedding, the communication was incredible. From continuous texting to phone calls, every question (and there were a lot) were answered! Our wedding was a week of fun. The wedding day was a DREAM. Everyone was coming up to us saying it was designed perfectly just for US. The detail was amazing! I remember one of our first phone calls going over what I envisioned and the day itself encompassed all of it and more. I often hear from brides that they feel like they miss their wedding day from everything going on, that was not my case. I was on the dance floor all night, partying with my new husband, family and friends all because Shelby and Charlie were taking care of everything else. If you’re on the fence about who to hire for your wedding planner, I promise, you found the right people! -

My brother in law and his wife hired Shelby and Charlie to help plan their Texas wedding in November of 2022. As a member of the wedding party, I was able to see them in action on the day before and the day of the wedding. They were there the day before to accept deliveries, begin setting up, and keep all of us on track of what needed to be done. The wedding took place at the bride and grooms home so there was a lot that we were doing that normally would be taken care of by a venue. The dance floor was being delivered later than we expected and they were happy to wait while we headed to the welcome dinner. On the day of, they made sure that everything was on time, the bride and groom's needs were met at every turn, and that the guests were having a good time. The team at Simply Classic Events is organized, professional, and most of all fun! You will not regret hiring Shelby and Charlie for your wedding whether you need someone to plan every detail from start to finish, or you just need support executing your vision the week of. -

Everything and more!!
Shelby at Simply Classic Events & Simply Classic Travels made my wedding dreams come to life! She was amazing with helping me find my perfect venue, set up room blocks for all my guests, help coordinate multiple events and listened and fulfilled every last request & detail my husband and I wanted. She would answer every panic email and text instantly and eased any nerves I had through out the whole planning process. She truly made wedding planning a breeze and always had me & my fiancé in mind. I truly cannot thank her enough for making my dream come to life! All my guests raved about her all weekend :) -

We highly recommend Simply Classic Events for your wedding. Shelby and her team were amazing. We hired them for full event planning and it was extremely helpful having Shelby guide us through the planning process. She was always available when we had questions - we talked so much that she felt more like a friend than just our wedding planner. She was also great under pressure - we had a wind issue right before the ceremony started and glasses in the reception area were shattered. Shelby was picking up broken glass out of the grass to make sure everything at the reception was ready. She handled everything so perfectly that we didn't even realize how serious the issue was until speaking to her about it later that night. She absorbed all the stress from the situation, which we really appreciated. Again - HIGHLY recommend! -

I’ve been trying to find the right words to truly describe how amazing Shelby and her team are and it’s pretty much impossible. The only way I can think to appropriately express what a game changer booking Simply Classic Event’s is as a bride would be through a love letter to Shelby herself so buckle up future clients. This is worth the read.
Shelby,
From the moment we met 3 years ago in that little restaurant for our first consultation in 2019 I knew I was in the right hands. Your professionalism and confidence are unquestionable and every fear or concern I had about my vision coming to life for Jimmy and I’s special day, was gone within the first 10 minutes of our meeting. You were making suggestions I had not even considered and took my dream to the next level. I knew I had found the right planner.
From curating a guest list to finding the right vendors; floral design, dress shopping, EVERYTHING… you had it all under control and in sight before it was even on my radar. Fast forward to the week of our initial wedding- the dreaded Covid shut down- and you were right by my side, always a step ahead. What could have been one of the most stressful experiences of my life (having my wedding of 200+ shut down the week of) you were my rock and my literal sanity throughout the entire process. Finding an elopement back up within days, renegotiating contracts, doing all of the heavy work so I should just focus on what was most important- marrying the love of my life on our original wedding date.
Now fast forward to this past year- rescheduling and completely planning a SECOND wedding for us! Covid mandates were gone and it was time to throw us the party we had originally wanted. Except this time I made you change everything. Including the venue. Did you kill me? No! You were the most supportive hype girl I could have asked for! You found us our little escape in Ensenada. The perfect venue for a Corona Couple getting to step into the sun after 2 years of shutdowns. This time I let you run wild on design and for those of you still reading this review---I HIGHLY suggest you give Shelby and her team full design control. I had no idea what color scheme, florals, table settings, nothing. I just gave you a budget and you curated the most magical wedding day I have ever seen. If you had told me 6 months ago I would cry over the flowers you prepared for me, I would have laughed… but instead.. FULL-ON BAWLING! I didn’t think it was possible to audibly gasp in awe of your talent but it happened, multiple times.
All of this to say… thank you. Thank you Shelby for being the most talented, amazing, supportive, professional wedding planner and for putting your heart and soul into creating our dream wedding. My only complaint is now I don’t get to talk to you weekly.
For those of you considering booking Simply Classic Event- Do it. It will be the best decision you have ever made.

Shelby did my son's destination wedding in Mexico. She handled every single detail! The flowers were gorgeous, our venue (she procured) was so first class, shuttle services, Reception dinner, Bar, Room Blocks, Brunch, Servers, Wait staff, and a Completely relaxing, personal, and unique experience! We had so many family members and she made it so we could all be together! Breakfast every morning together! I just can't say enough! Shelby and her lovely assistant, Charlie will be the very best decision you make! I too am a wedding planner and I was so very impressed! We think of Shelby and Charlie as family now!! Best of wishes to you and Congratulations, but if you want the best you should hire Shelby!! She is so wonderful! -

You really are the best wedding planner in San Diego. We postponed our big wedding date due to covid, and last minute decided to elope. That wouldn’t be possible without Shelby. She helped me find a dress rental, and a tux for my husband, hair, makeup, photography and video. She planned it all. She even did florals herself!! They were amazingly beautiful. I cherish and respect Shelby beyond words. I am amazed what she was able to pull off in so little time. Thank you from the bottom of my whole heart for all that you’ve done for me. This is a day we will remember for the rest of our lives, and you’ve been by my side for all the good and the bad and the tears and joy and sadness. The BEST for a type-A bride
Shelby and her team were simply amazing! Shelby went above and beyond throughout the whole wedding planning process. I always had so many questions that I bombarded her with and she was SO FAST at responding and patient with me every step of the way. I’m the type that needs everything to be perfect and she helped bring that perfect vision to life. She made me feel so comfortable with all my decisions since price was definitely my biggest concern. She also gave me advice on where to cut corners and what other ideas I could go with to make my wedding look amazing without having an extravagant budget. If you’re anything like me and NEED strive for perfection, Shelby’s your gal! She has amazing taste and will never put together anything she wouldn’t want for herself. -

Wedding planner/coordinator
Shelby with Simply Classic Events was amazing. She was always available and went above and beyond to help me find things in my budget. She even came to my house the day before the wedding and loaded up her car with some of the decorations. She always gave me her honest opinion with all of the details. My family and wedding party can be wild at times and she was able to take control and get through the rehearsal in a timely manner. Not only was she professionally, but she was so fun to plan wedding with. I definitely recommend her for any classy fun event. -

Dream Team!!!
I cannot even express how wonderful Simply Classic Events is! Shelby and Taylor were so creative with the design of our venue launch party, so detailed with the planning and coming up with things I never even thought of, so on top of it with vendor communication ensuring everyone was on the same page, and so responsive with me putting me at ease with the whole process. And they were so much fun to work with! I highly recommend these guys!!! -

Liz Sent on 06/24/2018Shelby and her team are amazing to work with. Shelby was out day of planner for my son's Bar Mitzvah. I had a attended a Bart Mitzvah nearly 2 years ago that she did, she was so calm, cool and collected, but in charge. The first time I spoke to her, she said her job was to take all of the stress off of me! Well, she did just that. Not all is she competent and so easy to work with, but she thought of creative things that I had not considered and made them happen (a donut wall, extra decor on theme). When I handed over everything to Shelby 10 days before the event, I felt confident that she would execute my vision. And she did. I was able to thoroughly enjoy myself knowing that Shelby and her team were leading the organization and flow of the event. I have already asked Shelby to help for my younger son's Bar Mitzvah in 3 years! WE LOVE HER!

I think Shelby is amazing and has an amazing vision. She helped me save my budget where I could and made great suggestions that ultimately lead to an amazing wedding. When Shelby is on it she is ON IT and can execute really efficiently. My only complaint is that sometimes we fell to the wayside. I had a few guests complain about communication issues - I also noticed that wasn't always very efficient. I sometimes felt like because my wedding wasnt as lavish as others, it wasnt a priority - because I know Shelby can be amazing and does great work. I hired her to be my day of coordinator and she did a mostly amazing job. We had some hiccups like my name being spelled wrong in numerous locations after numerously being pointed out on the wedding website, guests being lost in-between dinner and the ceremony, as well as some plans that we had previously discussed not being executed (ex. using the welcome cocktail hour included in my wedding package, in between the ceremony and the dinner reservation - that didn't happen). But all in all I would still recommend Shelby, she has great ideas, is a pro in event planning, she has amazing creativity in design - I just think she needs some more assistance to help with organization. -
